Match of the Millennium

Description: An elaborate giant summoning circle has been drawn on the stone in the center of the estate's courtyard. Within it, eldritch sigils activate when an intruder draws near and summons forth a creature from the stygian depths to do battle. Or well, in this case, Lackey, demon of sloth! While not quite as fearsome as some of her brethren, she is compelled to do the circle's bidding by the inscription and repel any who trespass. Can Yuri best this demoness from otherside, or fall into a deep slumber from which there is no return?

[LACKEY]
Lackey's rather unhappy about being trapped in the courtyard, she's tried to lie on the stone in the courtyard but is unable to fall asleep. It's like somehow is handing the demoness cups of coffee and forcing her to drink them. As a result she's rather jittery, as she tries to find a comfortable position to rest in. She knows this isn't the work of Myriad, but who else would summon her here? She certainly hopes her master shows up soon and dispels the circle.

[YURI]
What's Yuri up to at this party?

Doing the Monster Mash? Nope.

Trick-or-treating? Nope.

Boasting about Kyokugen Karate? Good guess, but nope.

Yuri is instead exploring this strange place, trying to find a way out of here. She doesn't like it one bit and she's hoping that it's all just for show or something. As she moves, she keeps in her bouncy stance, ready to attack anything that might come near.

As Yuri approaches the courtyard, she narrows her eyes as her gut instinct tells her something isn't right. "If anyone's here...?" She manages to get out after a moment. "Y-y-you... You'd better watch out!" She's trying to sound tough but it's obvious she's a bit scared.

[LACKEY]
Lackey hears the female voice and her pointed ears raise up a bit with that. "Are you stuck here too? Maybe we can find a way out together?" Her sandalled feet leave a faint imprint in the dirt as she tries to get closer to the girl and her pink eyes narrow a bit as she makes out a figure in the darkness. She faintly makes out a teenaged girl in some kind of pajamas? "Are you a demon too?" She doesn't look like one, but they do take many forms after all.

[YURI]
"Me? A demon?" Yuri asks as she stops suddenly, getting a look at the... creature speaking to her. "Absolutely not! I'm no demon!" She smiles a little. "I'm Yuri Sakazaki, the queen of Kyokugen Karate!" She does a brief jump in the air and gives a thumbs up before returning to her serious tone.

"I happen to be looking for a way out of here, and I haven't been very successful." She looks at Lackey with a scrutinizing gaze. "I'm not a demon at all. Although you definitely look like one!" She narrows an eye.

[LACKEY]
"Yes, I'm a demon...karate? Did someone summon me to fight you? I feel oddly compelled to do so..." The circle glows a bit with that as Lackey takes a defensive stance. "I can't let anyone through...and I can't sleep either..."

She's shaky herself, but it's not out of fear."I just want to rest...sorry but maybe this circle will go away if I beat you." She doesn't seem to have any options as she lets out a deafening yawn as she's clearly uneasy.

"Compelled to fight with me?" Yuri smirks. "Well, maybe this won't be so bad after all." She cracks her knuckles a few times before rolling her neck around. "There's nothing like a good fight to liven up a bad situation!" She smiles even more. "Especially when it's the awesomeness of Kyokugen Karate!"

As Yuri gets into her fighting stance again, she adds, "You can't sleep, huh? Well, when I'm done with you that won't be a problem at all!" With the demon yawning, Yuri thinks it's time to wake her up a little. "Ko'ou ken!" Yuri calls out as she throws a small fireball at the opponent. If the call of the attack doesn't wake her up, the attack will!

Lackey defends herself as she lets the powerful yawn, she's a bit more aware of her surroundings than she normally is but still gets smacked by the fireball. "Are you sure you aren't some kind of wrath demon? Some of them have to constantly fight in order to stay alive. "I'm not big on fighting myself, but between Darkstalker hunters and the messes that Myriad drags me into I seem to end up doing a lot of it.

Wait a minute, someone's yawn can hurt someone?

Apparently that's what Yuri finds out the hard way as she gets into her defensive stance, absorbing the impact of that yawn. "Wow, you must be pretty tired. Good thing you're not in my class or my dad would have you do one-hundred knuckle push-ups!" She shakes her head. "But enough of that!"

Watching the demon carefully, Yuri moves from one side to the other, before attempting to come in fast with a quick kick to the demon's stomach.

"Your dad would quickly find out, it's not a good idea to disturb a sloth demoness in the middle of a nap. Ouch..." Lackey's not that great at dodging so it's not surprise that she ends up getting kicked in the stomach. That doesn't make it hurt any less though.

Maybe if she puts the karate girl to sleep, it'll count as a win? It was worth a shot. One of her clawed hands begins to glow purple as she scrapes it along the ground. It's quickly covered with dust that she tosses at Yuri, trying to knocking her out with it.

The dust is coming a little too slow for Yuri to consider a threat. In fact, she doesn't even consider it a threat at all!

Instead, she raises her hands and focuses her power into them, bringing forth an aura to reflect the dust back at Lackey!

Well, that's one way for Lackey to fall asleep, but she wasn't expecting to have her own attack reflected back at her. "Are you sure you're not a sloth demoness? Or is that part of your karate?" She needs to learn how to do that, using others own power against them was certainly lazy. She's not quite sure what do if Yuri can deflect her attacks. Maybe she should settle for using physical force for now? She attempts to wrap her spiked tail around the teenager and toss her with it.

Let's get physical, huh

Not so much for Yuri!

"Nice try, but no good!" Yuri says as she jumps up and avoids that tail.

As soon as she gets back on the ground, she looks at Lackey and says, "You may always be sleepy, but if you dealt with that narcolepsy, I bet you'd make a great student at Kyokugen Karate!"

The girl taps her fists together a couple of times. "Come on, I'm ready for you!"

COMBATSYS: Yuri focuses on her next action.

"Really? Would your father accept a demon as a student?" Lackey knows not all people are welcoming of Darkstalkers. "And yes, a sloth demon will always be sleepy. Just like a gluttony demon will always be hungry, or an envy demon will always jealous of people."

She can't really help her nature after all, she's a bit heistant to get close to Yuri since she's not sure if she's preparing another counter. Instead she closes her eyes eyes and there's a loud scraping sound. Suddenly a pair of arms burst out from underneath Yuri and try to hold her in place.

"What's going on?" Yuri asks, feeling uncertain, before the hands reach up and try to grab her. "Hey! Keep your hands to yourself!" She yells as she struggles to break free of their grasp. "That wasn't very nice!" She says as she finally breaks free of the arms trying to do who-knows-what? (Being buried alive is definitely not something she wants to consider!)

"Yeah, my dad will accept anyone if they're willing to learn." She shakes her head. "But your narcolepsy isn't going to leave a good impression on my dad." With that, Yuri rushes towards Lackey, intent on delivering her own variation of the famous Dragon Punch, only given the 'Yuri' treatment!

The circle gives Lackey another burst of energy forcing her to stay awake, it doesn't make her any less sluggish though as she's knocked back into the wall by Yuri's uppercut. It takes her a moment to get back on her feet. "Well, I need more sleep then your average human." She slowly walks towards the other girl before extending a clawed fist as she gets close to her.

"You need a lot of sleep it seems," Yuri says as she easily ducks under the well-intended but too-slow punch. "Maybe you should go into a deep slumber for a while?" Without waiting to hear an answer, Yuri attempts to grab at the extended arm and throw Lackey to the ground. "Of course you'll be in a deep sleep once I'm finished with you!"

Lackey tries to avoid the throw but it doesn't have much success in doing so and ends up back on the ground. She seemingly does manage to fall into a peaceful sleep for a moment. At least until the circle flashes again and she seemingly stands up with her eyes closed. There's a brief blnding purple flash as the demoness walks towards Yuri with her claws extended as she tries to dig them into her flesh along with the spikes on her tail.

The demoness is doing her best, Yuri will give her that.

But she's not about to throw the fight for her either. She avoids the tail quite easily. After leaping out of the way, Yuri comes back in, attempting to strike the demoness with a left hook.

Lackey's clearly struggling against her much more agile opponent, sure she can defend against her attacks but that doesn't do much good if she can't hit her. The circle flashes repeatedly as it forces her awake. "Just let me sleep already..." She's certainly trying but her heart isn't in the fight. "I just want to laze on the beach." Her hands glow purple again with that as a pile of sand materializes on the ground below and she begins to sculpt it. In no time at all, she's built a small castle completely with working turrets. Which promptly fire sand at Yuri.

A sand castle that fires working projectiles? Have you ever seen anything so strange?

Neither has Yuri.

Which is why she simply jumps up to avoid being hit by them. "You're pretty interesting, I'll give you that, but you're gonna have to do better than that!" And then, Yuri decides to show what she's truly made of by throwing forth a LARGE fireball with both hands!

Lackey tries to get out of the way, but the giant fireball is too big for her to avoid. The seal glows quickly brightly now as it does its best to empower her one last attack as she releases all the chi, she can into the sand castle. It reshapes itself and become almost humanoid slowly walking towards Yuri. The massive golem puts all of its weight into one punch to try and bring her down.

Apparently, Yuri's gotten a bit too cocky for her own good. The golem got her before she could even react and went flying across the area, causing her to tumble sideways for a moment before pushing herself back up. "Oww, that was totally uncool!" Yuri says as she slaps herself a few times to keep her focus set on the fight at hand instead of wanting to pass out.

"Looks like I underestimated you, but don't think I'm giving up just yet!" With that, Yuri leaps into the air towards Lackey, then sends forth a diagonally aimed fireball from the air.

Too bad Lackey doesn't have wings, or she would try to fly out of the way. At this point she's barely awake and struggling to stay awake. The pair of arms bursted out of the ground but instead of trying to grab Yuri, they grab the demoness. She's tossed through the air at the girl, head and horns first.

COMBATSYS: Lackey can no longer fight.

The hands come up once again, and this time Yuri manages to deflect them away with little effort. She shakes out the pain and looks at her opponent...

Who... Seems to have... fallen asleep finally?

"Yoo-hoo? Are you still in this?" There's no response. Yuri shrugs and turns away saying, "Well, good fight anyway, but you need to work on that narcolepsy to beat me!" As if showing some sympathy to her opponent, Yuri drags Lackey's unconscious body out of the open and into a dark corner so she'll be out of the way. "Sleep well!" She says before prancing away.
