Match of the Millennium

Description: A werewolf is on the prowl at Taiyo High. Looks like a job for the queen of Kyokugen Karate, Yuri Sakazaki! Can she take out this wolf without a silver bullet?

[HAYLEY]
Chaos reigns in Southtown as an army of darkstalkers seems to have descended upon it overnight. Monsters seem to run rampant. Fiends stalk the streets. Creatures mostly unseen since the Gear Conflict now roam free.

But despite it all, Taiyo High endures. Where some areas are left defenseless, the students of Taiyo have risen to the occasion. Students and faculty stand fast, with those able to fight bringing their skills to bear to hold off the oncoming horde.

But there are only so many students, and oh so many monsters.

With a shattering of glass a ghastly shape smashes through an unguarded window in one of the second floor hallways. The beast unfurls itself, rising up, dogged and jagged in its features. It looks like a dog, well, perhaps a wolf, but overly long and man-like in its gait. It stands up on two legs as two students--a young man and woman still in school uniform, make a break for the nearest hallway, their heavy footfalls accompanied by screams. The werewolf breaks into a four-legged sprint after them.

[YURI]
A werewolf? Causing trouble at Taiyo High?

Students and staff alike must be freaking out like nothing else! In fact, there are those two students who are running away from the werewolf, while the monster itself is intent on having a free meal. Or at least that's what would happen if no one were to interrupt this whole thing.

Suddenly, as if having heard the sound of the screams and knowing something had to be done, Yuri Sakazaki leaps out of a nearby stairwell, clad in her standard uniform no less. Apparently she's been aware that things have gone crazy and she's doing what she can to help out. When she spots a werewolf in her high school, Yuri is definitely not happy at all!

She points at the monster and says, "Stop right there!" Before realizing just what it truly is as she wrinkles her nose. "A werewolf? Oh, how totally disgusting!" She shakes her head, before looking to the students. "Get out of here, I'll take care of this!" Then Yuri gets into her fighting stance and looks at the monster, an evil smile on her face.

"I don't need silver bullets here!" She cracks her knuckles. "I'm Yuri Sakazaki, and I know the most awesome style of martial arts, Kyokugen Karate! I'm gonna send you back to where you came from!"

[HAYLEY]
The werewolf comes to a stop as Yuri presents itself in front of it. In that moment there's an animalistic contest of dominance. Instead of running like prey, the werewolf has been challenged as the predator here. It rises to its hind legs, standing well above six feet and drool dripping from its mouth onto the tile floor. It steps once, twice, it's nails long as daggers as they tap across the floor. A low growl rises from its throat, incoherent in any human language.

And then it lunges, it's teeth barred and it's claws extended as it leaps to try and take Yuri to the ground in a sudden, monstrous movement!

Yuri may not look scared of this furry fiend, but unfortunately she's finding herself in a bit of pain as the werewolf lunges at her and takes her to the ground before she even has a chance to react. "Damn it, this isn't supposed to happen!" Yuri yells, hoping that the young man and woman left so that there's no chance of them seeing how humiliated she is. "I'm supposed to be invincible!"

After regaining her composure and her breathing is normal again, Yuri grits her teeth. "I'm not your buddy! Get off of me!" She then attempts to thrust her foot into the beast's stomach in hopes of getting it off.

Jaws snap and drool splatters. The werewolf's hot breath rolls out like a curtain; it's awful breath smells like bad meat and blood. It opens its jaws wide, leaning in closer, closer.

And then Yuri's catches it square in the belly with a heavy thump then draws out of a whimper like a (literal) kicked dog before the werewolf draws back on reflex and gives Yuri enough room to move. The beast staggers back, staying on all fours as it pulls away in a crawl, teeth barred and snarling.

But the withdrawl is only temporary. In the next moment, the wolf is surging forward again with a snapping of jaws and a tearing of teeth as it tries to take a bit out of the young Kyokugen prodigy!

"I'm not afraid of--" Yuri's cut off as the werewolf takes a bite out of her! It bites down on the side of her torso, leaving her in a bit of pain as she struggles to break free. Her gi top is ripped and she's bleeding pretty badly from a bite like that. And let's not forget what might happen if she's bitten by a werewolf.

"I can't believe this, this is so totally not cool!" Yuri says with frustration. "I'm supposed to be kicking butt, not getting eaten by a werewolf!" She grits her teeth and slaps her face a couple of times. "OK, no more Miss Nice Yuri!"

Deciding to go with what works best in most scenarios, Yuri throws a small fireball shaped projectile at the werewolf, hoping to show that she's not done just yet. At the same time, one eye remains closed in pain, and her teeth grit still to show that she hasn't forgotten about that bite.

The werewolf has tasted blood. It has Yuri's scent, and renewed confidence in its role as the predator here. The flash of chi draws a wide-eyed gaze---but not a stupid one. Instead the beast reacts with animal cunning, slipping to the side and going flat as the mighty Ko'ou Ken shoots over its head and smashes into an open classroom door behind it.

Already low, the beast cuts in sharply, breaking into a feral sprint. As it closes the gap, it does something unexpected--leaping not with its fangs but into a more human-like jumping kick. Its claws gleam like knives in the fluroscent light of the hallway as it tries to bury them in Yuri then leap off again in a backwards flip.

Being sliced with knives? Not fun.

Being sliced with claws? Even less fun.

Yuri finds herself getting slashed by those claws, and once again she's bleeding from her injury. In the time it took her to press a hand against the other wound to try to stop the bleeding, she found herself getting attacked again. By now the floor will be stained with blood. Not that anyone's really gonna care.

"Dammit... not like this..." Yuri snarls, obviously in pain but not wanting to give up. "I can't believe I'm on the losing end..."

In spite of the pain she's in and the fact she's bleeding, Yuri decides that it's time to show she's really ticked off now. She takes a few running steps, releasing her hands from her wounds, which causes her to grit her teeth in pain again. Despite this, she continues to run, then attempts to launch into a rising uppercut while spinning around. Hopefully this should show she's wounded, but not out!

In one moment, the werewolf has the upper hand. It rises to its full height once again by standing on its hindlegs, hot, smelly breath pouring forth from its nostrils. Yuri can almost see it smiling in the moment--perhaps a sign of something a bit more sapient than its feral qualities would imply. With a step and a clack, it approaches more slowly this time. Yuri seems to be running low, and the werewolf senses it. It moves in for the kill...

And it is met with surprising resilience, and a burst of reserves from Yuri. In one moment, the werewolf has the advantage of distance. In the next, it does not, and Yuri is barreling down on it. It braces itself, thinking she has no strength left. It thinks wrong.

The uppercut impacts with the wolf's jaw with a bone-jarring impact that knocks it to the floor with a yelp as blood and spittle gush from its nuzzle. A few long fangs on the floor serve as evidence of the damage Yuri's done. In fact, the werewolf flounders for a moment as it tries to get back on its feet and back on the offensive.

But a cornered wolf is still dangerous. It slashes out widely with a big claw, raking the air to try and chase the girl away from it.

[YURI]
Yuri tries to get away from the werewolf before it can do more damage than it already has, but it's no use. The claw rakes across her torso, ripping her gi top more and drawing more blood. "Owwwww!" Yuri cries out as she realizes her sports bra is now showing beneath. This is REALLY embarrassing!

"No way! Hurt badly and humiliated?" Yuri sneers, albeit with some difficulty. "I can't believe... this..."

Bloodied and weakened, Yuri stares at the werewolf, realizing that she may have bitten off more than she can chew, but she refuses to back down either. "I'm gonna hit you... with all I got!" Yuri begins to glow with chi.

"I save this... for last!" She suddenly rushes at the werewolf and, if successful, will leap upwards and rapidly drive her feet into the werewolf before uppercutting it away. It's a powerful attack, but what will happen to Yuri after?

COMBATSYS: Lone Wolf fails to interrupt Hien Hou'ou Kyaku from Yuri with Scent of Blood.

In that moment, the werewolf senses desperation. It detects that weakness in Yuri's voice, in the suggestion that she's giving everything in her next move. It's also in that moment that the werewolf goes for the kill.

Or so it thinks.

In a moment, the beast is on all fours and barreling toward Yuri like an unchained animal. It's claws clatter on the floor and it tracks the flooring as it surges forward.

But it's not fast enough. Not by a long shot. The flurry of kicks strikes true, sitting the beast up for a brutal assault as it weathers blow after rapid blow until the finishing uppercuts sends it spiraling away in a rolling whimper.

[YURI]
Yuri smiles as she manages to land her attack fully, and she jumps away with a slight sense of accomplishment... until the pain returns and she grits her teeth again. "Damn it," She says. "I was supposed to be an awesomely powerful girl, but now I'm getting my butt kicked!" She shakes her head, despite the fact she's still bleeding and in pain. "Not gonna let it win that easily!"

With the werewolf knocked away, Yuri doesn't waste time at all. She brings her hands back and focuses her power into them, before shooting forth a large fireball. If it misses, it'll take out some of the school building itself, but who's going to know... or care?

COMBATSYS: Lone Wolf endures Yuri's Haoh Sho Ko Ken.

As the Haoh Sho Ko Ken comes, the werewolf isn't even fully on his feet. He's in a half rise, his eyes widening at the massive blast of chi powering toward him. In that moment, there is hesitation. There is primal fear.

But there is resolve. Perhaps the fear of failure. The worry of what will be done to him if he comes back to his masters, tail between his legs, drives him onward despite all the odds.

The Haoh Sho Ko Ken, that masterful technique, smashes into the wolf--but he powers through it. The werewolf surges forward, body blasted, bruised, and burned, but he surges on toward Yuri, his fangs wet and hungry.

He tries to dive onto her, to rip and tear and devour in a uncaged, desperate frenzy. First a bite, then rending claws, then a bite and shake once more.

COMBATSYS: Yuri fails to interrupt Rip and Tear from Lone Wolf with Chou Mawashi Geri.

There's a chance that Yuri could launch into her spinning kick attack. Unfortunately, that chance is no more.

Yuri finds herself down on the ground being attacked by the werewolf without the strength to fight back. "Get off... me..." She says, slowly losing consciousness.

"Uncool... no..." Yuri's last words are spoken as she slips into unconsciousness. Who knows what will happen to her now?

[HAYLEY]
The werewolf takes Yuri to the ground, hot breath washing over her face and drool dripping onto the floor. The wolf works its jaw, which seems to distend as it draws closer. It opens wider, and wider still as it looms closer, the werewolf seemingly ready to swallow up the Kyokugen fighter whole...

CLANG. The wolf sways, its tongue lolling out. It sways left, then right, then topples over in an unconscious heap, the last of its stamina exhausted.

The student from before--the one Yuri saved, holds a fire extinguisher in both hands.

"Hey, Kimeko, let's get her to the nurse and get out of here before that thing wakes up!"
