Match of the Millennium

Description: What happens when Geki and Sophia decide to reenact Metal Gear Solid onto of a parade float in Metro City? Let's just say love doesn't bloom on this battlefield.

Geki sought to seal great powers of the martial arts community. To do so, he had to find them first. The first step to every journey was always, in the culture of his home, a step from sand to shore, his people a group of fishermen. That meant walking through the beaches of his quarry, before he dove into the depths to find his prey.

In order to find these clams, he had decided to become a regular fighter on Saturday Night Fights, calculating that rising interest in his fighting would draw unusual talents to him, so he may track and study them later, in order to discover the proper way to turn them aside from their world of depravity.

The path to disaster was, to him, a path towards personal perfection, instead of a path towards collective soul.

Geki stood atop the Lightning Spangles float in the middle of the Thanksgiving Day parade in Metro Square, decked from head to toe in his navy blue ninja gear. His ninjato was secured on his back, shuriken were hidden inside his bandolier, and a claw was attached to his right arm. His arms were crossed, displaying his claw but hiding his ninja stars, as he stood on the back of the ponderously hovering float.

Nearby, as spectators watched on from the ground, cameras watched from windows above them, part of the contract with Saturday Night Fights.

Sophia turns a bit red at all the cameras focused on her. Even as a lamia she had trouble climbing up on the parade balloon. At this point it would be best not to lloking down. Hopefully, it can support her weight without bursting.

She instantly notices that her opponent is wielding a claw, that might not be the best choice of weapon given the setting. She's also a bit surprised that a ninja is fighting in plain sight.

[GEKI]
Geki languidly and slowly aligns his posture to stick his right hand, with the claw, out, pointing at Sophia.

He stands in place, a hush going over the audience below, until a sharp wind passes.

And then, Geki is moving, running across the balloon with his lightfooted grace. He jumps forward, barely passing into what you'd call a standard leap, and curls into a ball as he hurtles at Sophia.

And moments later, he is standing along side her, his claw having passed by her with a carve.

Sophia notices Geki rushing at her and puts her tail up to defend herself from the attack. She feels the claw brush up against her but her scales managed to shield most of the damage. Of course standing next to her might not be the best option as he's in range for Sophia to smack him back with her tail as she tries to prevent him from getting another attempt to slash her with his claw.

Geki leaps into the air in an inverted swan dive, flying over the tail and gracefully kicking his joined legs upwards, arms spread from him.

As he flips back to the ground, he throws a single shuriken at Sophia, aimed to catch her in the cheek and lodge there.

He lands, in a squat, left hand between his toes and fingers splayed.

Sophia sees the shuriken flying at her and quickly ducks to avoid getting hit. The parade float doesn't far so well on the other hand as the shuriken's lodged in it. That could be a problem but it shouldn't deflate right away. Still, she's going to have trouble keeping up with him if she doesn't do something. She unhinges her jaw causing her mouth to open widely and acid to discharge from it.

Acid splashes across Geki's face and mask, a scream coming from him as he backpedals. Luckily, he managed to close his eyes.

Grasping his face with a gloved hand, he wipes the acid off, his glove and face burning.

Grimacing in clear view now that his mask is gone, he reaches behind him and draws his ninjaken. He goes running at Sophia, jumping forward with a knee rising as he holds the sword both hands up, above him, then bringing it down with a single stroke. He lands in a forward position, one knee forward, his body low and his off-leg lengthened behind him, on the toe.

Sophia's unable to dodge that time and instead the blade goes right into her tail. She cries out in pain as the scales are pierced. She attempts to wrap her tail around him to prevent him from dodging her attacks.

Geki leaps above the tail and lands upon it, his ninjaken dextrously passing about in his fingers to be held downwards as he spins about atop the lamia's extended end.

His blade flashes white as he dances off of the Sophia, attempting to slash her across her breast.

The blade cuts right through Sophia's sweater and into her breast. She leans over in pain as she covers the wound with one hand. Out of her other hands comes a snake made out of green energy which bites into Geki's flesh in an attempt to slow him down.

Geki swirls about with his sword switching into an extension of his arm, the butt of the grip held between his slim fingers, as he slashes the energy snake in two and then sheathes his sword behind him in a smooth motion. He ends the movement on a knee, eyes narrowed at Sophia, frowning.

"You are trapped in the power you hold, are you not?"

He rolls backwards and then throws a star that was purloined from his bandolier while he was rolling.

"Perhaps it is best, for your battle against this beast you lay within, to leave the venom in your veins, just there. In your veins."

This was getting frustrating, he could easily out speed her and getting close left her open to be slashed. Then again Geki was an experienced ninja and she's been only fighting for a couple of years. "I'm doing everything I can to keep my power under control..." She lunges forth and tries to strike him, she just needs to get him off-guard so she can set up for something larger.

Geki performs a half-roll to the side and bounces out of it to his feet from his back. Now facing away from Sophia as she lunges forward with a punch, he sweeps around with his claw, with a hard slice at her flank while she's extending at the spot he was previously crouching in.

"You must devote yourself to the service of others, to control something you wish to serve you."

"I want to help others but I have to feed off them to keep sane." Sophia has to keep her hunger in check after all or she loses control. She's able to lean back enough avoid the claw slice. As she wipes from the sweat from her forehead she starts to feel hungry. All this fighting was exhausting for her after all. She slithes forward once again this time extending her fangs as she attempts to bite him.

Geki jukes backwards with a quick motion, landing in a sprinter's position, leaving the snapping fangs before him.

"Then I must kill you."

Geki rushes forward, with a hard swipe from his claw aimed at Sophia's mouth, attempting to lash across it with a hard curve of his arm inwards.

"Kill me?!" Sophia sounds rather uneasily as she hears that. Threatening her further might not have been the best idea. Forcing her to fight for her life is a quick way to provoke the normal timid researcher. Now she knows she can't hold anything back or she could die. Adrenaline rushes through her body as she attempts to ensare him with her tail.

Geki leaps atop Sophia with a plant of his left hand, above the ensnaring tail around his feet and behind her, landing on the ground in a spin.

His arms reach to grasp her around her lower torso, then leap into the air and take her to the balloon's surface with a fast jump and inversion.

Sophia isn't the easiest person to grab but he does manage to get a loose grasp on her and she's slammed into the balloon. With the earlier prick, helium starts to rapidly escape from the float. Still if her arms are wrapped around her, she might be able to use tail to pull him onto the bottom of the balloon as well

Geki refuses to release as the tail wraps around him, and pivots his trunk into a hard twist away from the toss. Instead, he pushes over her, tail wrapped around him, tucking his palms beneath her armpits, and attempts to land on the other side, back to back, performing a toss off the flagging balloon and into the crowd.

Sophia gets tossed from the balloon and into the crowd, they weren't expecting the great deal of weight and end up dropping on her on the ground. She's not fully thinking clearly at this point and she ensnares one of the innocent bystanders. The helpless civilian ends up getting launched up at Geki as she tries to knock him off the float.

As a random civilian is launched at Geki, his eyes go wide. He goes running and jumps up to catch the civilian, but he miscalculates the swing of the civilian through the air and is sent oblong through the air, to the ground. The two part ways mid-air, and both have a hard fall. There are shouts, and police rush over to the wounded man with the broken leg.

Geki, shaking from both rage and pain, climbs to his feet, showing his teeth as he snarls at Sophia.

Geki goes dashing forward as the Lightning Spangles balloon behind him falls to the ground atop the police attempting to help the wounded spectator, Geki drawing his sword and leaping upwards. He somersaults three times, a burst of smoke after the first, the second hidden, and the third emerging from the smoke. His sword slashes downwards as he lands from the jump, aimed at Sophia's hand, before he leaps about and lands on his left hand, tilting to a standing position and slashing at the other arm, aimed at the tricep.

He sheathes his sword, and finally, jams his claw on his sword-arm downwards, at the tip of her tail.

Sophia's still recover from the landing when her hand and arm are slashed open spraying blood everywhere. Worst of all the tip of her tail is cut clean off. That only serves to enrage her further and the ground begins to split open. Several snakes made out of green energy surround the lamia and lash out Geki trying to bite the ninja.

The green snakes illicit a scream from Geki as he's surrounded by biting monstrosities. Venom pumping through him, he takes a step to his left and then swings about with a high kick at Sophia, meant to swing over her head and pivot him around to a position with his back to her, after the leg has forced her to duck.

Then, comes a thrust of the claw as he moves to face her again, shoving his arm directly forward, a surprise attack.

Even more venom escapes from Sophia's lips as she's clawed once again and slithers down into one of the holes to retreat. She needs a quiet dark place to heal and hopefully the ninja wouldn't follow her down there. Then again he didn't look to be in the best shape either which should be enough of a deterrent. Right?

Geki throws himself to the side and lands on his shoulder, rolling across his back with his leg straight and landing in a kneeling cant.

As the announcer declare he's the winner, he flashes a victory sign at the cameras, his visible mouth grinning.
