Match of the Millennium

Description: Franco's efforts in breaking the Syndicate has kept the power of the criminal organization in check against the common people. The Syndicate's violence against the citizens has come to a halt, with only one last band of interlopers transgressing in the villages. The Syndicate has come to respect the street vigilantes like Franco, and has been forced to steer the laymen gangsters away from him. But as Franco reaches the end of his stage, a contractor stands at the end of his path. Is she friend or foe? Or a boss for him to face down at?

The folks of Southtown haven't exactly had the best of luck given they were stuck in the middle of a turf war. All in all most are just people trying to get by and can't fight back against the thugs of the Syndicate or any other criminals that have popped up to take advantage of the situation.

But that did change when at least one man took to the streets. A man that was just trying to enjoy a new chapter in his life after moving to Southtown and working as a mechanic at the airport. Franco Bash so the weak being preyed upon and he decided to do something about it.

He has been effective to say the least. Even a strange gang of monsters couldn't stop the big, American from cleaning up the streets to the point Geese Howard has started to tell his men to avoid bothering the common man and concentrate on other matters. It is just a small group that seems to have not gotten those orders yet and they are paying dearly for it right now. "Run! Don't look back!" one hoodlum shouts as the small group go scrambling away. Franco in bright orange overalls and wearing blue boxing gloves gives chase as he gives a laugh. "What? Is it not fun when you come across someone that can defend themselves? Come back!"

[SENNA]
Senna is... well. She's a step above the hired hands, at least in skill, and so she's been tasked with trying to stop the kickboxer's rampage against the Syndicate. Disposable, see? Still, it hasn't been hard to find him, what with the ruckus he's been causing, and the reports from various Syndicate assets about Bash's progress.

"Get out of here, you fuckin' idiots," snarls Senna, as she steps past the group of gangsters, her disdain for them obvious and clear in her tone of voice and the way her lips twist--no respect for these men who think the barrel end of a gun makes them stronger than others.

"Hey, big guy," she says, sounding... almost friendly, except not really. "Look, can't have you tearin' up the Syndicate like this anymore, y'dig? It's ruining plans." She brings her tape-wrapped hands up in a classic boxing pose, already leaning forward into her stance, a stance that Franco will undoubtedly recognize.

"They asked me to, ah, take care of you, y'know?"

It isn't long before Franco rounds a corner and finds someone that doesn't look like she will be running away any time soon. Franco slows and actually looks at Senna in a curious manner. She has his attention and the men he was given chase to are getting away learning a much less painful lesson.

"They were shaking down a couple that run a nearby bakery that could not defend themselves. I was simply giving them a life lesson in hopes they might turn over a new leaf!" He does tap his chin a few times with a gloved hand. Senna mentions the Syndicate, but to Franco he hasn't fully realized he is stepping on the toes of some dangerous people. He has mostly dealt with the more small time groups with the exception of Burr and the gang of monsters.

He goes quiet for a few moments and studies Senna and her movements. His own stance shifting some as he raises his fists and gives crick of his neck. "And what of you? You don't seem like them. Perhaps a bit grumpy, but maybe you just need a good meal to make you feel better!" he says with a hearty laugh. "But if you wish to fight so be it. Just realize this isn't going to stop me from protecting those that cannot defend themselves!"

Senna waves a hand dismissively. "Yeah, I know. That's life. It's what they do. They are criminals, after all. And so am I." She doesn't really seem to want to say too much--never really does, come to think of it. Being witty in battle isn't her forte. She studies Franco for a few more seconds, then just...

Just starts.

Hands up in an almost peekaboo-style guard, Senna ducks forward, keeping her center of gravity low, taking long but centered steps to close in with the kickboxer. She doesn't know much about him--just got his name and a picture from the Syndicate--and so she figures that waiting around isn't the best idea. Not her style, anyways.

As she closes in she cocks her right hand back, and at the end of one lunging, gliding step she hammers it around in a short hook punch aimed for Franco's chin, with no follow-through, as she instead uses the momentum to reel her right hand back for a quick second hook, this one with enough follow-through to make her twist around to her left towards the end.

"You are a criminal? That is disappointing." Franco admits gives a shake of his head. All these people turning to a life of crime. It makes him glad he is raising his son the right way. No trouble there....yet. Junior hasn't hit the dreaded teenage years just yet afterall, but is coming very close.

She comes in to strike first and strike hard, but Franco is quick in his movements despite his size and he crouches a bit lower to bring his big arms up to let them take the punishment of those strikes. "No chance to get you to change your mind on the path you have taken too I assume. Very well."

He straightens up and comes in with a left hook himself. His gloved fist flaring with blue chi around it before he quickly follows up with a right hook, both big hits looking to knock Senna back and keep her on the defensive.

*POW* Senna's head gets twisted around by the left hook, that staggering punch setting her up quite nicely for the right--

*P P O O W W*

It's like, one second she's there, upright, the second, she isn't. Just straight flattened into the pavement. For a moment, an observer might wonder, 'holy hell, did she just DIE?'

But no. She groans, then her fingers twitch, and she pushes herself up, both sides of her face clearly going to be big ol' bruises in just a few minutes. Getting to her feet, Senna spits, hawking a loogie with some blood in it onto the pavement.

"Mother-FUCK-," she grates, shaking her head to clear her vision up, then resuming her fighting stance--though she already looks a little wobbly. She bobs for a moment, falters, then shakes her head angrily and just... lunges, yelling wordlessly.

As she nears, she fires a left straight punch, almost but not quite a job, meant to judge the range for an overhand smash punch from her right--clearly her dominant hand.

Two strikes probably gave Senna a really good idea why Franco has been a problem for the Syndicate. The muscles aren't all for show and the kickboxer also seems to be proficient in the use of chi to boot. It is also very clear he won't be pulling punches his fight. Senna stated she is a criminal afterall so he has to approach this fight like he has the others.

He keeps his distance for now and seems intent to observe. He knows just as much about her as she does him so he is trying to get a better idea of what she can do. He pays too much attention to that straight be cause it leaves him open and that other hand slams hard onto the big man's cranium and staggers him to the side before he falls to a knee. "Hnnng...."

That one has him feeling a bit dizzy, but he manages to get to his feet and surges towards Senna once more. This time his fist comes in low as the glove erupts in a reddish flame this time around when he looks to drive it right into Senna's stomach. His then brings his other fist downwards in an overhead smash similar to the one she just nailed him with.

Senna's been up agaisnt odds like this before. Completely outmatched, in power and skill. It's humbling. Honestly, were things not the way they are, Senna would likely walk away, assuming Franco would let her. But...

But that's one thing she can't do, because of the circumstances. She...

She needs Franco to beat her. But it can't be obvious, of course. She's got to make it look good. But maybe it's that thought that slows her down, maybe she's sandbagging. Maybe her heart just isn't quite in it, and that's why Franco's first punch blasts through an advancing guard meant to throw him off, blowing up her plan, and leaving her open for that smashing overhand punch--flattening her once more.

She's a little quicker to get up, scrambling backwards a few feet, doggedly raising her fists once more.

[FRANCO]
There is a moment where Senna is given time to back up. Franco just watches intently for a few moments before he starts to slowly close in. His guard remains up and he bobs about while seeming to keep his gaze shifting from her position to her fists waiting to see if she strikes. Or he is just looking for an opening.

He finally seems to stop his hesitation and he steps inwards. First it is a fist coming forward to strike right for her face, but it seems Franco was using the punch as a distraction in this case. He has been using his fists so far, but this time it looks like it is his knee that is looking to strike home.

Franco lifts off his feet to put all his strength into the knee as looks to smash into the stomach of Senna and lift her off the ground before landing hard on the ground with such an impact there is a shockwave of energy that comes from his lead foot that spiderwebs the ground beneath it and makes the nearby buildings shake.

Senna's guard is already battered--not just her face is going to be bruised, but her arms as well. Still, she tries. But Franco--he's just too strong. He's overwhelmed her faster than nearly anyone else has ever before, save for her coach and trainer when she first started boxing, when all she knew was how to throw a punch from getting into a few fights. The leaping knee from Franco blasts her arms apart, continuing unabated into her chin--fortunately, her mouth already closed, and her teeth strong--and lifts her into the air.

She seems to hang there for a moment, just long enough for Franco's foot to slam her down into the wave of energy, flinging her now-unconscious body across the street, tumbling, to smash into the base of a streetlamp. Out, completely and utterly--and yet, or maybe because of it, she looks strangely at peace. Now...

Now it's up to Franco to decide what to do with her. Call the cops in? Leave her be?

She could have fled and instead she took it to him. The results were perhaps not what she wanted, but she showed no fear and despite everything he threw at her in the end is that something of a smirk on her face?

Franco lowers his guard after a few moments and he steps over. This doesn't seem like the others he took on. This is not someone like that strange Burr character he took on at the airport. For all he knows she could have just been hard up for money and was willing to do whatever it took.

"I think you aren't like them deep down. I hope you find what you are looking for. I hope we meet again under better circumstances." There will be no cops called. Not this time. Maybe in the future she will prove him wrong and show she really is a criminal that needs to be locked away, but for now the kickboxer leaves her be. Is it for the better? She failed Geese afterall so it is hard to tell, but she will at least wake up and not be behind bars.
