The Gorin Games!
An exciting collection of athletic endeavors, where the top student athletes all through Southtown come together to represent their schools and their own personal talent.
...Somehow one of those events is an arena mico-sailing match. When this was put through on the list of events, Taiyo wasn't really certain what they should do. It wasn't exactly all that high on their list of sports clubs, but they couldn't just give Gorin a free pass.
So, who do you send into a sporting event when you've got nobody with the training to pull it off?
None other than Hinata Wakaba!
The Sunshine Girl of Taiyo High is the ultimate secret weapon in Taiyo High's arsenal; despite not being part of any of the sport clubs, she frequently joins up as a temp when the clubs need a ringer and comes in strong. Sure she's never really done any sailing, but the Taiyo Ace isn't going to stopped by something as all that.
Settled into little sailboat at the floating start line, the whirlwind schoolgirl has apparently decided to rep with one of the school's swimsuits and a red headband to show off her burning spirit.
The Gorin Games. Something Yuri's heard about and has decided to take part. Unfortunately, she had no idea that she'd be taking part in something like this! She was hoping to utilize her Kyokugen skills, but instead has found herself wearing a purple swimsuit with her bandana. She now has to take part in a sailing event, which is totally humiliating. Especially since she has to take on her best friend Hinata. Could anything be worse?
As Yuri gets herself prepared for this whole thing, she looks around and sighs. "I can't believe I got suckered into something like this again! This is so uncool!"
Of COURSE it could be worse! Don't ask stupid questions.
Particularly cause you may get an answer from the universe!
Among the small boats present is a dinghy piloted by none other than Munin Arshe, and she has some fun ideas for this. Dressed in a bright red 1-piece swimsuit with the word 'Foxy' across it, wearing an eyepatch, and with pirate 'skull and crossbones' painted on the sides of the small boat, she grins to herself. Whatever the requirements for 'winning' may be, she fully intends to have fun with this!
As the gun is fired, and the race is on, she right off the bat manuevers up next to one of the closest competitors, and with a "YAR!" and a well-placed kick sends them flying into the water!
And thus, the game is afoot!

And just like the Pacific High competitor goes splashing into the water. Almost immediately a cry flies up from the crowd from one of the upper crust students:
"Oh no! They're ruining the regatta!"
What's that? Nobody told Hinata that this was a full contact event. Despite getting off a quick start, just slightly behind a Gorin student, the cries from the crowd get the Taiyo student to look back to see the sudden change in the event.
As much as she might want to bring in a win for her school, she can't just let somebody breaking all of the rules and putting other students at risk. Hinata's not a sailor by nature:
She's a fighter!
Tightening her grip on the ropes, she begins to fall back in the race to attempt to intercept the piratical trouble-maker.

Rolling her eyes as Yuri sees what's happening, she also slows down her boat as best as she can, which is not easy since she doesn't know much about operating a boat to begin with. Using what she does know, she attempts to turn it slightly as well, hoping to intercept as well. "Come on, why can't this go any faster?" Yuri wonders aloud as she stomps her bare foot. "And why do they always have to ruin things like this?!"
They, of course, being a broad term, but Yuri's not caring right now. She just wants to get that stupid pirate out of here. "Hey, you one-eyed jerk!" Yuri yells as she approaches. "Why don't you go back to the sea where you belong?"

Throwing all sense to the wind, Munin turns her grin on Yuri as the gal yells to her, then eyes Hinata as she makes her way over. Both at once? A duel to the 'death' on the high seas?
Figuratively?
Excellent!
She sails TOWARDS Yuri first, clotheslining another unknown competitor along the way as she goes past "What's a pirate without a little treasure, eh? Think i'll steal some booty, and yours'll do nicely!".
Course, she knows it's completely lewd and senseless in this setting, but in the name of shenanigans, WHO CARES!
"You ain't stealing anything from me!" Yuri exclaims angrily, watching as Munin approaches while taking out another competitor. "I don't know who you are or why you're here, but there isn't enough room for any pirates in THIS competition, sister!" She cracks her knuckles and watches Munin approach. It appears that there's going to be a fight here after all.
When Munin gets close enough, Yuri decides to give Munin a sample of what she's got up her sleeve. She may not have any cannons to blast Munin with, but that won't stop her from going on the offensive. Yuri brings her arm back and then throws a fireball at Munin with a yell.

Ha! Too slow!
Munin steers her ship just enough to dodge the projectile, then stands to make her boarding attempt!
Unfortunately, her standing up causes the boat to shift, and she lurches BACKWARDS into the fireball anyway! Luckily it loses some punch, but it STILL hurts!
Using the impact momentum from behind, she shifts forwards, sending the boat back towards Yuri, and into range for a broadside! Balancing herself carefully, she sends a heel-first kick right at Yuris stomach! Simple and effective!
There are some problems with attempting to go backwards in a sailboat. One of them is that the hull really isn't designed for it. Another is that the wind is trying to adjust for all of that wind.
Hinata struggles for a bit with her ropes, being forced to settle for slowing down at first. She just has to get closer, right into range.
Unfortunately, the energetic school girl gets a bit too excited about getting into the fight as she moves back. The ropes pull free of her hand as she falls back into position, and the wind catches the sail, suddenly sending the boom whirling around. Hinata is forced to duck, and the boom arcs around swinging toward the other boats.
Only... it's not the pirate that's going getting the swing, it's Hinata's classmate and friend, Yuri!

Yuri shakes her head as she jumps(!) over Munin's kick. The kick hits nothing but air and Yuri thinks she's in the clear, until the mast hits her in the side of the head, causing her to nearly fall over and have a case of being all washed up! Unfortunately, Yuri doesn't care who it was, she wants to get revenge on them for what they did, since she's feeling both humiliated since she was hit from a blind spot as well as in a bit of pain as well.
By this time, Yuri's boat has drifted close enough to Hinata's, so that she can glare at her and say, "Thanks for the cheap hit! Have one on ME!" Yuri attempts to throw a swift hook at Hinata.
Seeing the part of Hinatas ship hit Yuri while attempting to come help, only to start a squabble? Too funny.
Deciding 'why not', as Yuri turns to face her classmate, Munin assists, sending a wave of dark shadowy chi flying at Hinata over Yuris shoulder! Why NOT use Yuri as a shield? Makes perfect sense!

"Oh no!" Hinata cries up when she realizes Yuri's in the path of her swinging boom. She winces as it hits Yuri. The moment its all passed she leans in to check on her schoolmate, "I'm so sorry, Yuri, I lost control and..."
And then she senses that Yuri's about to swing and ducks back, raising her forearm to catch the blow.
"Whoa, what are you..."
And then she notices the dark chi coming flying at her and leaps off her boat and into the water to get out of the way. This is hardly ideal... but she's an incredible athelete, and attemps to use this to her advantage.
The whirlwind schoolgirl slips down through the water up to the other side of the cluster of boats and then suddenly pops up behind Munin, attempting to catch the piratical girl by the arm and then twist her up, around, and into the drink.

Apparently, once Hinata's realized her mistake, albeit after Yuri throws a punch at her, Yuri is accepting of her acknowledgement of making a mistake. "Just don't let it happen again, OK Hinata?" Yuri asks, still a little dazed by that last attack. Then she turns to face Munin. "As for you, I think we need to sink you once and for all!"
Seeing what Hinata's doing gives Yuri an idea as well. She takes a deep breath and holds it, then drops herself into the water. She too disappears for a moment before she reappears... launching upwards at Munin with a swift uppercut!

It isn't too hard to notice Hinata jump off the boat to evage the attack. The logical tactic is to come up behind, and Hinata does exactly what was expected. When she leaps from the water to grab, Munin is ready for her, moving her body with the twist to keep her footing, though it still hurts nontheless!
When she hears another splash, it goes to guessing Yuri has the same idea, and while ready for it, Munins movements are off due to the sway of 3 people on her boat, and the hit connects solidly with her chin, dazing her a moment!
Whoa, don't rock the boat (don't rock the boat, baby)
All three boats are starting to find themselves locked together as booms and sails bump into each other. With nobody working to control directions, this is going to end up being a real mess.
Well, there's still some real advantage going on here, and so Hinata attempts to press the fight forward. One of the sunshine girl's legs sweeps up and then attempt to knock Munin down from that uppercut with an axe kick.
Unfortunately, Yuri finds herself back in the drink again after she lands, and while she'd like to go after Munin again, it seems Hinata's got the same idea, and it's getting a bit confusing all the same. Nevertheless, Yuri doesn't want to let this pirate get off so easily. She attempts to locate Munin and deliver some more Kyokugen justice.
Once Yuri thinks she's found Munin, she attempts to leap up and deliver a jumping kick from the water. It's not easy given her buoyancy, but she tries.

With a flick of her arm, Munin manages to stop Hinata's kick inches from her face. This, in turn opens her up to the kick from Yuri to her torso.
Attempting to think fast, Munin grabs one of the ropes dangling from the boat, and flicks it at Hinata, attempting to rope her, then fling her at, and into the path of, Yuri!

No clean hit... not perfect, but Hinata isn't about to just let that hold her back. This fight is going to be taken care of one way or the other!
Hinata's hands cup back at her side, igniting a small seed of chi between them. Blue energy swirls all around, pulling together in a growing orb of power. She's going to knock Munin right off this boat!
...Only, there's suddenly a rope flying at her. As Hinata ducks out of the way, but in the process the Taiyo girl can't quite manage to keep control of the the orb of chi and it rockets forward...
...toward Yuri. It blasts toward the other Taiyo girl, exploding out into a sunflower right in front of her.

Yuri sees what Hinata's doing and thinks that she can take this. In fact, she wants to try to reflect it back at Hinata, albeit as more of a defensive strategy rather than counterattacking. Of course, reflecting an attack with an aura of chi takes proper timing and skill. And when you're in the water, that timing can be thrown off easily. Yuri nonetheless attempts to deflect it away, but it's no use.
The ball of chi hits Yuri and knocks her underwater briefly, causing her to lie facedown for a moment before she recovers. "Wow, I'm really washed up!" She says, disbelieving her own bad pun.
Seeing the projectile miss makes Munin happy. Seeing it send Yuri into the water is just icing on the cake!
Turning, she eyes Hinata "Thanks for the save, matey!", before moving in to attack! Right now she considers Hinata top priority, moving in for a series of punches and kicks, followed up with a wrist throw, all made tentitively for any sign of a counter-attack!

"Oh no!" Hinata cries out as her attack goes wild and hits her friend instead of the piratical girl. This is a huge mess right now. "I'm sooooo, sorry, Yuri! I promise I'll buy you some cake to make up for it after this!"
And then the pirate comes at her again, Hinata twists out of the way of the punches, hopping over to one of the other essentially docked boats to get out of the way.
"I wasn't trying to help you, you just threw off my aim, you jerk!" Hinata shouts as she lunges back into it, swinging a punch aimed right for Munin's cheek.
"Don't worry about that now, Hinata," Yuri says as she recovers some more, wiping some water from her face. "Let's just teach this pirate not to mess with us!" While Hinata's doing for Munin, Yuri decides to attempt to get back at Munin as best as she can. She attempts to get back onto the dinghy and hopefully stay out of the water for a little while. As Hinata throws a punch, Yuri gets an awful idea of her own. One that will make Munin feel all wet too.
Hoping that Munin will be distracted by Hinata's punch, Yuri attempts to grab her from behind and throw her over her shoulder into the drink. Do unto others, after all!

Alas, the combined might of Hinata and Yuri begins to overcome Munins reserves. She tries to move to intercept Hinatas punch, and is off, taking the blow head on, only to be then grabbed from behind by Yuri, and thrown overboard! *SPLASH!*
For a moment she's stunned by the shift in gravity, as well as the blows shes taken, and has to shake her head to make the world stop spinning!
Into the water goes the pirate!
Hinata grins as she stands atop the collection of boats, carefully attempting to balance in her current position so she doesn't take an unfortunate dip as well.
"Now you see why you don't want to start trouble when Taiyo High is around to put a stop to you!" She folds her arms over her swimsuit covered chest as she looks down upon the bobbing Munin. "So maybe you want to just climb out of the pool and stop causing trouble for people with your stupid prank before you get in trouble, okay?"

Once Munin's gone into the water, Yuri can only stand proudly and smirk with a look of arrogance on her face. She looks to Hinata and then nods. "Yeah, you should just get your ass outta here before we whup it so hard you won't be able to sit down ever again!" All the while, Yuri is idly wiping off any dirt that might have gotten on her in the water.

Attempting to take advantage of the situation, Munin swims around to one side, and kicks the boat with Yuri on it to make it shake prior to leaping from the water, lashing out with a kick at her "Not down and out yet, Mateys!". She can't help but grin. Definately hamming things up, but it's all in good fun to her!
Okay, so maybe just standing around waiting for somebody to give up when you're in an unstable environment isn't exactly optimal. Like when somebody decides to do what Munin did instead of just giving up.
Not Hinata's best decision.
When she sees Munin going flying for her classmate, it's all Hinata can do to try to get in there and put a stop to this.
"YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET TO KEEP THIS UP, YOU'RE GOING BACK IN THE WATER!" she shouts as she launches up into the air and her legs burst into flames as she whips around in a trio of heavy spinning kicks, aiming to catch Munin in mid-air and drag her further out over open water with the helicopter motion.

Despite being kicked by Munin, Yuri still manages to keep her balance and not fall over... or rather she does fall, but onto the dinghy itself, rather than into the water. It hurts a little, but given that she supported herself with her hands when she fell, it's not as bad as it could've been. Still, Yuri's running a bit low on patience. And Hinata's got the right idea too. Because while she's going in for the kill, Yuri decides to up the ante and add a little projectile power.
"Get ready! Because I'M GONNA SEND YOU TO DAVY JONES'S LOCKER!" Yuri yells as she charges her chi into her hands. Then she sends forth a HUGE fireball!

When Hinata leaps into the air, Munin is unable to evade due to gravity's pull resuming at the top of her leap! Enveloped in the flames, she can only give a pained grin as she focuses, dark shadow chi forming around her body.
Being unable to evade, Yuris attack hits her dead on, and with a burst of chi, she vanishes from sight! A LARGE burst of chi, shaped into long spikes of shadow, aimed in a cone at the pair of fighters!
Whatever the result of the attack, Munin is gone from sight, and does not reappear.
Secrely, Munin has actually positioned herself along the rear side of the boat, having used the burst of chi to mask her movement. She's had enough of a beating, so best to leave it on that note. Slipping quietly into the water, she swims down deep for the exit, where none in their boats will see her!

There are downsides to launching at somebody over the water, one of which is that Hinata isn't exactly well equipped to helicopter her way back toward the boat. She's in open waters with a big old splash.
There is, however, an upside to all of this, and that's the fact that when she suddenly sees a bunch of giant chi spikes forming in the air in front of her, threatening to do terrible things, she has a really simple option to get out of the danger zone.
Hinata just dives under the water. Chi goes right over her as she kicks through the deep attempting to get over to the side of the boat where the pirate was last seen only to surface and...
"...She got away," Hinata says with a frown on her face as she treads water before looking up at the sails of the boats that have, thanks to a lot of pointy energy being flung at them, suddenly found themselves filled with holes. "I guess this means we're out of the race."
Despite the huge chi coming at them, Yuri somehow manages to avoid it. She does take a plunge into the water, but she comes back up for air rather quickly then gets back into her dinghy. "Well, that was a bit too close!" Yuri then looks to Hinata and says, "After what happened there, what do you say we call it a draw or something?" She smiles a little before frowning. "Yeah, that means we're out of the race, which is why we should call it a draw or something?" She smiles again. "After all, no hard feelings!"
"I don't think anybody back at school's going to get too upset with us not winning after all of this."
The sunshine schoolgirl looks around for a bit at all of the competition. "...Oh, or maybe nobody is going to win. Looks like things are kind of a mess."
With a grin on her face, she suddenly turns in the water and starts to race to the edge of the temporary pool. "Last one out gets the smallest slice of cake!"
