PFW: What is the Diamond Dragon? - Fri Feb 27 2015 - Jackal
Rumors persist as to just who or what the Diamond Dragon is. Some say it was some sort of great powerful creature who was seperated from its hoard of gold by pioneers over sixty years ago. Others say it was a vast beast, trapped in the arctic ice and cut free. It held a massive diamond in its claws, which is what gave the casino its namesake. Even amongst official sources, there are over ten seperate origin stories for the dragon.
To commemorate the third opening of the Diamond Dragon, the PFW organizers have negotiated a truce with this wrathful and wildly capricious creature, convincing it to part with the smallest parcel of its nigh infinite cache of riches. However, only the luckiest of fighters will get a chance to battle this legendary creature for the main prize: 500,000 dollars in pure diamond, and thousands more in an incredible cash payout! You have to see it to believe it!
Professional Fighting Worldwide can't keep this kind of cash a secret any longer, so bring your A game before the police shut us down!!

DIAMOND: HOW IT WORKS - Fri Feb 27 2015 - Jackal
Each battle is held inside or around the Diamond Dragon Casino. (There's a new stage with the casino in it, BTW) Dominating the casino is a massive four monitor trunk called the "Moneyrock." Each monitor are each themselves a promotional spectacular screen, similar to the ones found in some high class tournaments, and show up right around where a traditional 'fight scoreboard' would be over a conventional match. However, while the board over any given fight does keep track of hits and knockdowns, etc. It is also the host to a massive video slot machine.
Each fight will have a buff to critical hit rate, and to ICly represent the Moneyrock, each fighter in ANY Diamond Dragon match will have the Eccentric trait for the duration of their match. As each fighter exchanges blows, the Moneyrock rolls the slots for just about every punch or kick. WILD hits are events for the Moneyrock. From beneath it, it releases golden pachinko balls... which explode, effectively magnifying the mayhem of any hit. Whether the explosions are focused on you or your opponent depends on how well you do on the slots, and you might have to withdraw from an attack quickly to avoid being blown to kingdom come by the chaotic rain of balls.
At the end of the event, ANY FIGHTER which has rolled a LUNATIC HIT (aka, JACKPOT!) will gather on Wednesday and Thursday to face off against THE DIAMOND DRAGON for the grand prize, which is a RIDICULOUS SUM OF MONEY FOR A SMALL EVENT. Hey, wait. Where the hell is PFW getting all of this promo cash??? WHO CARES!! :OO

DIAMOND: Matches - Fri Feb 27 2015 - Jackal
[+] T. HAWK vs. JIRA vs. MAKI in "SHOWGIRLS"
As is festooned across much of the casino's advertisements, the Diamond Dragon actually hosts a full on entertainment stage for live bands and emcees and other such luminaries. This is sort of a smokescreen to keep the business open for as long as is possible, because outright gambling is illegal across most of China, and much of what goes on inside of the Diamond Dragon's walls is not actually permissible even by Hong Kong's relaxed laws. It is for this reason that one of the first battles held in the Dragon is during the weekly Showgirls routine. After a brief scuffle about dress code, T. Hawk will be brought on stage before a live audience to face off in a showdown amongst all ten of the Diamond Dragon's lovely lady troupe! .. Except there was only eight when the casino opened...
NOTE: The billing is somewhat misleading. While the DD's showgirls are all Tai Chi experts, they are also seasoned performers. They will be performing a highly interpretive martial arts dance, sparring amongst eachother while the three of you duke it out. Still, there is a dress code. Jira and Maki in frilly showgirl outfits while T.Hawk must wear, at minimum, a comically small tophat. This cannot end well.
[+] HARU vs. ARACELY in "LUCK BE A LADY"
Outside the Diamond Dragon, the casino is fully outfitted with all of the opulence you would come to expect from a major casino. The building has been host to several other entertainment venues over the years, including prior iterations of the Diamond Dragon, one of which was a laser light and water show as part of an outdoor nightclub, and the setup has been retrofitted and redressed in full honors for tonight's occasion. Today's battle will occur in front of the casino, in part of a massive fountain floor light display. Powerful jets of water shoot hundreds of feet into the air, just shy of a duplicate Moneyrock, which hangs suspended from a laser blimp, which is giving a very high tech lightshow over the whole scheme. Just try not to stand directly over a jet, right?
[+] SENNA vs. AYA vs. ZABEL in "I WANT THE ROCKS"
As part of the second show at the casino stage after the showgirls match, a small rock concert has been scheduled. Unfortunately, someone thought it was a great idea to book Zabel Zarock for the entertainment, who has heard that there is quite a bit of money to be had in fighting in this event. Senna and Aya are supposed to be a one on one fight in front of the metalzombie, but through some ghoulish fine print he snuck in the contact, instead of performing, he's just going to cut his concert short and tune his new guitar on someone's skull. Sounds like a hell of a time.
[+] AYAME vs. M. BISON in "JACKPOT"
Some other fights are a little bit more personal. Through some legal maneuvering, the casino has managed to sidestep some of the laws regarding gambling in China by giving out only 'souvenir tokens,' which can then be exchanged for prizes, which can then be later exchanged for money at another establishment. This has allowed the Diamond Dragon to field a veritable forest of slot and pachinko machines, amongst which is scheduled the next fight. A man loves a good casino, and the former heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Bison, takes the field against a relative unknown, a girl who appeared only during the pharaoh incident at one of PFW's prior events. Promoters are betting she'll be a crowd pleaser--and if she doesn't, well... Bison is definitely going to be out for the payout they've cut him to make things a little more than interesting, tonight.
NOTE: For some reason, PFW doesn't seem to like Ayame.
[!] FEATURE MATCH! GERTRUDE and ARMOR KING vs. VEGA in "THREE CHERRIES"
Becoming dissatisfied with his position in the Circuit of Champions, a ferocious man stalks the grounds tonight, looking to see who might be able to provide a worthy challenge for his worldwide belt. The famous luchadore faces off against a woman of dark and noble pedigree in the upper levels of the casino, almost directly underneath the Moneyrock. However, PFW fight promoters have underestimated the strength of the mysterious Thai fighter Kamon, who decimated his prior match near effortlessly. Disgusted with what was offered him, he now stalks the halls, getting closer to finding out the truth of things. If no one in this casino gets a 'JACKPOT,' he won't be able to determine just who the Diamond Dragon actually is. Sometimes, you need to force their hand...
