SNF 2015.02 - SNF: Showgirls!

Description: As is festooned across much of the casino's advertisements, the Diamond Dragon actually hosts a full on entertainment stage for live bands and emcees and other such luminaries. This is sort of a smokescreen to keep the business open for as long as is possible, because outright gambling is illegal across most of China, and much of what goes on inside of the Diamond Dragon's walls is not actually permissible even by Hong Kong's relaxed laws. It is for this reason that one of the first battles held in the Dragon is during the weekly Showgirls routine. After a brief scuffle about dress code, T. Hawk will be brought on stage before a live audience to face off in a showdown amongst all ten of the Diamond Dragon's lovely lady troupe! .. Except there was only eight when the casino opened... <Winner: T. Hawk>

The fact that T. Hawk is fighting in a casino doesn't bother him too much.

He's more bothered by the hassle to fly up here, the fact that M. Bison is participating, and also that he has to wear a top hat for his first match. During a live show. As the showgirls take the stage, so does T. Hawk, taking giant strides into the shining lights. The top hat he wears is tiny and cocked to one side - how it stays on is a mystery. T. Hawk is a party pooper so he opted NOT to also get in a fancy tux. Besides, he'd have to get one custom tailored for his big frame, and that's extra money he doesn't want to sink.

Okay, he added a bowtie. Maybe it makes him look like a Chippendale dancer, but whatever. Eyes on the prize. That payout promised to the winner will all go to his tribe; ease the financial burden of resettling their land and trying to start over. He folds his arms and waits for his other opponents.

Maki's been in many Saturday Night Fights before, but this one is making her reconsider being a part of it. She normally wouldn't mind fighting at a casino, but the fact that she has to get all dressed up like a showgirl really makes her want to reconsider taking part. The frilly dress she's wearing fits nicely, but at the same time it feels totally awkward for her to be dressing like this, while the stockings and heels are not practical fighting attire. She's not even wearing a headpiece like most showgirls do because of how thick her blonde hair is. At least she's in the costume though.

It takes her a little while to get to where the fight is taking place, partially due to the fact Maki's not used to wearing high heels much, but she does finally get there, albeit with a bit of an awkward gait to her walking. Not to mention, who's ever seen a showgirl with a tonfa? (It was part of the deal, either she got to use her tonfa or else she wouldn't take part.) She simply sighs and twirls her tonfa a little as she waits for the fight to begin.

COMBATSYS: T. Hawk has started a fight here.

Jira decided to sign up for the next bout of Saturday Night Fight as well... but being put into a casino was not even something she could imagine! The outfit was nice, though, and she didn't dare upset the arrangers by missing any pieces.. unlike another participant, which she's familiar with.

Jira's walking is particularly hazardous in heels, which she detests. Partially because her center of balance is already a bit more forward than most. Her walking, consequently, is a bit hastened and with her posture made rigidly upright up onto the stage.

Large man in the tophat, and a weapon-sporting showgirl.. she is assuming they're either part of the fight, or crashing the show. Either way, that means it's time for her to get ready. Her arms and legs glow a luminous white, albeit a bit less strong than the spotlights, and she gives a polite bow. No real ceremony beyond that, she slides into her guarded stance, standing with legs forward and to the side, arms at waist level and bent at right angles.

COMBATSYS: Jira has joined the fight here on the right meter side.

T. Hawk looks at the tonfa-wielding blonde woman and the pale woman with the glowing limbs. "Alright," he begins. "Guess we'd better get this started. My name is T. Hawk. May the spirits be with you." He cracks his knuckles, then assumes his Thunderfoot stance, namely just raising his arms up with his palms flat, mimicing wings. The big man remembers the Moneyrock, glancing up at it. That's going to make this interesting...the other showgirls start their routine, and begin pairing off to spar with one another, their dance-fighting style punctuated by kiais.

Jira notes everyone seems to be ready, and the showgirls in the background have begun their routine. She lets her partner run things from there, made notable by her expression becoming less lively and more stoic. Their attention shifts to Maki, a brief glance to the tonfa user before lowering into a crouch and lunging at her, aiming to sink a pain-laced, charged knee to the other woman's abdomen!

"Let's just get this over with," Maki says with sarcasm dripping from her tone quite obviously. She struggles to adjust to wearing her heels, knowing that she's going to have to be dancing while fighting. And this is not the most comfortable outfit for something like that. Still, Maki attempts to go with the flow, although her attention is quickly drawn to Jira.

"Here goes nothing..." Maki whispers to herself as she attempts to twist to the side while making it look like she's dancing at the same time. It's a little uneven on her feet, but she manages to keep herself standing tall without losing the rhythm. "That was luck," She mutters to herself before gripping her tonfa tighter than before. She looks like she's about to strike with her tonfa, but then she remembers she's supposed to be dance-fighting.

Realizing her mistake, Maki quickly attempts to throw a kick at Jira while looking like she's doing something related to the Can-Can.

T. Hawk watches the two go at it. This allowed him the chance to decide on his target. He waited for an opening, and decided to take his chance on the girl with the tonfa. Those looked like they'd hurt real bad, and she seems to know how to use them. Hawk comes in with a swift chop from his hand to the side of Maki's head. The top hat seems to be firmly secure by some unknown means! Meanwhile, the band for the performance is starting to really pick up as the three fighters get in on it. The crowd grows to watch the event, shadowed from the stage except for the reflected lights of their eyes.

COMBATSYS: Jira blocks Maki's Light Kick.

Jira has two benefits from the position she's left in. One, Akabara has no knowledge of dance and two, her leg is still raised. So settling back on Jira's lowered leg to intercept Maki's kick with the other is not much of a hassle. Her footing is left off, and the larger man's moving in for an attack. No better time to add in her own addition to the mix!

Jira reaches out to grab Maki's left arm while she's dealing with the mysterious hat-wearer, and twists 'round to toss her into the ground. If Jira's able to land her hold, Maki will feel the painful presence of Jira's energy being injected into her during the brief time before the final toss.

Apparently, Maki's gotten the hang of dance-fighting while wearing this unusual attire. She twirls away from Jira and jumps out of the way of T. Hawk's punch at her. Landing on the ground in heels is another thing, though, since she finds herself slightly off-balance as she lands and almost falls over, but she manages to steady herself. "You call this a fight? Come on!" Maki grips her tonfa again and goes after Jira, not wanting to take a chance with T. Hawk, given how huge that guy is.

Maki attempts to go with the flow as she moves in a dancing motion, approaching Jira carefully. When she gets close enough, Maki grips her tonfa as hard as she can. "Let me show you one of my favorite steps!" Maki says as she swings the tonfa at Jira without losing the dance flow.

Damn, she was FAST. Hawk observed Maki effortlessly dodging their preliminary attacks. The crowd goes wild at that. He remained poised while the two women continued to go at it. Wanting to see at least a hit on the ninja girl with the tonfa, T. Hawk tries a more aggressive approach. He leaps forward, bringing both arms up as he attempts to slam both elbows down on Maki at once. "Hyaaaa!" he cries. He will then follow up with two more elbow strikes if it connects.

Akabara was slowly losing interest in Maki, mainly based on her ability to elude two other fighters at once. Luckily, the tonfa user is giving out taunts, and telegraphing her attack. So, they reply in kind. Jira ducks into a quick roll, under Maki's strike and well out of the fray.. for the moment. And in this moment the light covering Jira's limbs brightens considerably, flickering and radiating faint cries and disembodied whispers in her immediate vicinity...... Jira seems a bit more withdrawn than usual, further giving control to Akabara and preparing for more action.

It doesn't matter what Jira thinks, namely since she's not attacking Maki right now. T. Hawk, however, has an interest in Maki, but Maki isn't interested in letting him hit her at all. She does a couple of backwards hops (amazing what she can do once she's accustomed to wearing those shoes) then leaps back completely. Meaning that T. Hawk hits nothing but air when he lands. "You can attack me all you want," Maki comments to T. Hawk as he misses with his attack. "But you have to learn to hit a moving target!"

Maki turns to look at Jira, notices she's taking a moment to focus... and shows a rare act of compassion to her opponent, turning her focus to T. Hawk entirely. "Here, let me show you what I mean!" Maki continues the dance flow, doing a few tricks with her tonfa at the same time, before attempting to strike T. Hawk with a hard swing of her tonfa.

Hawk grunts, getting back up from his missed blow. This was going to be irritating. "Thanks for the tip," he replies dryly. He attempts to block her incoming tonfa strike, but she manages to speed past his massive arms. The tonfa smacks into his side, hard, and he groans, gritting his teeth as pain shoots up his abdominals. That'll leave a bruise. He retaliates by jumping back a bit, getting his bearings. Suddenly, his arms shoot out as he gains incredible speed, flying at Maki like a bird of prey across the stage! "Condor Spire!" he cries, poised to slam into her with this maneuver.

Jira, and her partner both, are moderately surprised that Maki had decided to focus on Hawk. The heavy hit makes Jira wince internally from whatever information was trickling through Akabara's control, but her expression remains as stoic as ever. Even when she lowers down again and spreads that extra energy across her body.

With Hawk deciding to glide over to Maki, Akabara prepares one of his techniques, a woeful sensation fills the air as the gathered energy intensifies. And the purpose is revealed with a phantom image of Jira, made of that luminous energy races across the stage and stops on her toes behind Maki, pivots, and makes an uppercut behind the ninja with a single bound. Shortly after, with speed not quite as fantastic, Jira follows the movements herself!

Two fighters coming at Maki. Two of whom wish to hit Maki. Unfortunately, both of their attacks are dodged with ease. Maki leaps away from T. Hawk and then literally somersaults(!) over Jira's head, landing behind her swiftly. Apparently, Maki's adapted to dance-fighting in heels now. "Sorry, I won't let you hit me that easily! As for you..." Maki grins a little, almost like she's planning something.

Without warning, Maki literally drops to the ground and begins spinning around like a whirlwind, attempting to take down Jira. It's a switch from the actual dance-fighting, but Maki doesn't seem to care. Unless something goes wrong.

Hawk crouches to a knee, surrounded by showgirls sparring with each other. The crowd is going wild, and he's looking like a fool out here. Especially with this damn hat! He decides to at least try for someone he has a better chance of hitting, namely Jira. After Maki does her little spinning maneuever, T. Hawk is already approaching from the side. The big native drops down low and thrusts out one leg to kick Jira hard in the shins. His boot size? 16. He's starting to sweat from the lights on stage; the Moneyrock hangs over the three silently. T. Hawk didn't like it, especially since it could drop a nasty payload anytime.

At this point, Akabara has decided to atleast make it seem like they're trying, but their heart had left the fight once they'd gleaned how fluid and elusive Maki had become in combat. Still repositioning in those heels from their attack, there's no time to defend against Maki's attack, leading to Jira toppling down facefirst, and then being kicked by Hawk. She doesn't give any signs of movement after being pinballed.

Having successfully landed an attack against Jira, or more specifically her signature attack, Maki gets back to her feet and grins as she watches Jira lay facedown on the ground for the time being. Getting back into her dancing groove, Maki looks at her and then looks at T. Hawk. With a slight shrug, Maki decides that he's going to be her next target. "All right, now let's try sparring with each other for real!" Maki says as she advances on T. Hawk.

Maki then attempts to twirl around him as if to keep him guessing for a few moments, before she attempts to go into the air. She attempts to bring her heel-clad foot down and strike T. Hawk with it on her way down to the ground again.

Hawk steels himself, preparing to counter-attack Maki once he figures out where she's going to strike from. There! The air kick! Unfortunately for Hawk, right as he attempts to make another dive to knock Maki away, he positions himself incorrectly, and takes the hit to his head, knocking the big man back and down on his back. Stars of color dot his vision and he finds himself looking up at the stage lights. With another groan, he gets back to his feet, steadying his breathing so his body can be ready for the next attack.

Jira slowly rises, shifting her legs under her, then her arms, and is lifted up by her back and assisted onto her feet by her partner. She wastes little time in her barely steady state and rushes at Maki, grabbing at the woman and attempting to hold her still. Or atleast distract her, to help Hawk get a hit in. Maybe it'll change the tide of things.

Maki watches as T. Hawk fails with his counter attack, and can only shake her head as if to say, "Nice try, but no good!" She then finds herself being grabbed by Jira, and Maki doesn't like that too much personally. "Get off me!" She yells, attempting to wriggle free. In an act of desperation, Maki attempts to use her weight and momentum to grab Jira and throw her over her shoulder.

T. Hawk watches Jira make the grab. He nods to her; his expression rarely changes from a stoic frown, but the appreciation is there in that one gesture. He exhales through his nose, muscles tensing. He leaps to get in close to Maki, looming over her like a giant mountain. Few match or even exceed his height, and it shows here on this stage. Once he grabs her, Hawk will leap as high as he can into the air, almost touching the cieling. Maki will be swung around as he moves his arm in a windmill motion. "MEXICAN TYPHOON!" he shouts at the top of his lungs, and comes back down to Earth to SLAM Maki onto the ground hard enough to make the lights shake!

Jira's fully committed to the grab and has no time to avoid being grabbed by Maki, and again sent to the ground. Perhaps this is for the best, it's got her out of the way of whatever she'd helped Hawk prepare for. She rolls onto her side and slowly brings herself again to a stand, eyes on Maki. Instead of closing in, Akabara has an ingenius idea.

"There has to be a reason these things caught on." Jira murmurs, her voice doubled with Akabara's presence. She slips off her heels and tosses them, both, at Maki!

Maki's getting a little too cocky for her own good, especially after she successfully got rid of Jira and having been dodging so well this whole fight. But this time, Maki misses big time. She gets caught by T. Hawk and goes into the air, spinning around and around, before being slammed into the ground. Somehow, she doesn't fall out of her dress or lose her shoes. Which is a relief as she stands up and dusts herself off...

Only to be hit by Jira's thrown shoes. Both of which hit Maki in the back of the head, causing her to stagger forwards and cry out as the pain in her head is added to the one racking her body. "Damn it!" She exclaims, realizing what just hit her, and then turning to face Jira. Removing her own high heels, Maki stands in her stockinged feet and stares at Jira. "So, it looks like the dancing is over. Fine with me!" Maki attempts to leap into the air and plant her foot into Jira's shoulder. If successful, Maki will use that as a way of propelling herself upwards long enough to do a quick somersault and then grab Jira by the neck... then slam HER into the ground!

Hawk leaps back after slamming Maki into the ground; he seems satisfied with that. Now it was time for Jira to show what she could do, and while that happens, Hawk takes a breather, closing his eyes and taking a knee as he concentrates. He tries to feel the spirit of the land, covered up as it is by the glitzy casino. Even then, there was a certain energy here: excitement, thrill, sleaze...intrigue. He centered himself, refocusing his body's energy.

Maybe it's the atmosphere of the place, or perhaps it's more on the disinterest in a superior foe, but Akabara seems to be ready to put all the chips down on this next gambit. So to speak. The energy gathered in Jira's limbs grows brighter and more powerful, covering her body as Maki closes in to kick. Jira quickly catches the limb and instead pulls Maki in close for an embrace?! In any case, Maki is left upside down in Jira's grasp as the possessed woman unleashes a screaming aura of white psionic energy to engulf them both, however briefly. Within the area deafening screams of and actual pain define existance during the few seconds of the attack, which gives the backdrop of infinite light for those within.

For the folks watching to the side, the two women are engulfed in a dome of flickering white light after Jira grabs Maki by the ankle and hoists her midair for a few seconds. When the light fades, Maki is dropped. Anyone watching at home don't even see the light, it's interpreted as a hazy static that covers the screen, and ends with Maki being dropped.

OK, that was totally unexpected. Maki finds herself in an insane attack from Jira, and then goes down to the ground hard. She finds herself in pain and very much dazed. Not to mention she's starting to notice that her outfit is getting a bit torn up as well. Not that it really matters, since she's really wishing she didn't have to wear this stupid outfit.

"Not bad," Maki comments sarcastically as she stares down Jira. "But I'm afraid playtime is OVER!" Maki rushes at Jira, attempting to unleash a series of attacks in rapid succession. To Maki it seems like nothing but most will see it as a flurry of attacks happening in rapid succession.

Hawk rises back to his feet, observing the other two. The pale woman looked the worse for wear, with the tonfa girl going strong. This will be a close fight. With the casino crowd all turning their attention to the three, the showgirls still doing their complicated dance maneuever, T. Hawk continues to test Mika's reflexes by throwing out a quick front kick from his right leg, still keeping that grimly determined expression on his face. Better yet, his top hat remains unmarred despite the violence!

And then that first hit comes in before Jira's guard can come back up. The rest of Maki's attack is unnessecary, Jira topples over from that alone with the taint of earthen energies being dredged up so near.

Upon defeating Jira, Maki shakes her head a little before turning to face T. Hawk, just in time to see him attempting to kick at her. "Oh no you don't!" Maki yells, leaping out of the way once again. With only one opponent left to square off against, it feels more like a traditional fight once again. "You may have worn me down, but I'm dangerous when I'm in danger!" She sneers a little at that lousy pun.

Maki looks around her and then spots a nearby object to leap onto. "And you're gonna see why!" She then launches herself at T. Hawk, extending her foot in a flying kick style. Maki thinks she's got this in the bag. Sure, T. Hawk is big and speedy, but can he avoid her in the nick of time? Maki attempts to demonstrate her signature spinning attack once again, but her timing is a bit off, and she gets hit hard. The blow hits her directly in the shoulders and she drops like a sack of potatoes to the ground, groaning as she holds her wounded shoulder while struggling to get back up. When she finally forces herself back up, she looks at T. Hawk once again.

This time, she stares in awe and disbelief as she wonders just how a big guy like that could knock her down like that with such amazing precision. At the same time, she rubs her forehead, trying to clear the dazedness out of her head.

Hawk resumes his stance with his arms held up, staring Maki down with a weather-beaten expression on his face. He takes a knee again, concentrating. He ignores the wounds suffered in the fight, the fatigue, the sweat from those damn lights. Not even the crowd and noise of the pachinko tables or the big band playing fight music bothers him. He tapes into his body's energy reserves and calms himself, feeling himself one with the earth. He stands back up, with a renewed resolve in his eyes.

Slapping his hands together, he leaps at Maki once more for a grab. If he does grab her, he will perform another Typhoon maneuver, jumping up a little and windmilling his arm while holding her until he slams her back onto the stage. But this time, he will slam her hard enough to bounce her up so he can catch her AGAIN and jump even higher this time, higher than ever before! More windmill. "Raaaaaah! DOUBLE TYPHOOOON!" he yells triumphantly, throwing her back onto the ground...and then coming down to body slam her as a finish.

That's something that could've hurt a lot. But Maki was ready this time. She watched T. Hawk carefully and studied his movements, waiting for the right moment to make her move. Instead of fighting back, though, she simply attempts to avoid T. Hawk by rolling forwards underneath him, then getting back up onto her feet. "Not this time!" Maki says.

Without waiting for a response, Maki attempts to go in swiftly with her tonfa instead of using her feet like she has for most of the fight. She attempts to hit hard with a swift swing of her tonfa, hoping to send the message that she's not one to be messed with right now.

COMBATSYS: T. Hawk blocks Maki's Medium Strike.

But Hawk whirls around, blocking the tonfa with just one arm. It shakes after impact against his meaty bicep, leaving a red arm. Hawk can feel that one a little bit, but doesn't let it show. The dancers flowed around the two expertly, like running water. Hawk had to admit, they were really good at what they do. But no time to be distracted; he was determined to win this. He leaps into the air, spreading his arms, then flying DOWN at Maki like his namesake...but his intent is not to hit her. Instead he flies over her head and lands in a crouch, before he quickly whirls around and grabs for another Typhoon throw, hoping his feint catches her off guard.

COMBATSYS: T. Hawk successfully hit Maki with Mexican Throw.

Maki's caught quite off guard in more ways than one. When she tries to evade T. Hawk, she finds herself caught and thrown when she misjudges where T. Hawk is going. She tries to get out of the way, but is caught and thrown. She lands on the ground extra hard, and even though her body is wracked with pain, she struggles to get back up in hopes of going at it again...

COMBATSYS: Maki takes no action.

COMBATSYS: Maki can no longer fight.

But her body has taken too much punishment and she collapses flat on the ground. She fought well, but she's been beaten by T. Hawk.

T. Hawk stands to applause, looking down at his fallen opponent. That was a tough battle; he wondered how the rest of this tournament will go. He dreads facing M. Bison again. Not like last time at the border. He feels the need to say some parting words to the two, struggling for the words. He remembers something his father once taught him long ago. "Do not lament your loss, for the spirits will heal and rejuvenate you." Well, it would do.

He finally takes off his hat, and walks off stage.

COMBATSYS: T. Hawk has ended the fight here.
