Description: On this week's Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon is putting on a show for a bunch of her fans at the local amusement park when she's suddenly attacked by the alien Anne who wants to steal her power for the Doom Tree. Will Sailor Moon be able to fight off the attack alone, without the help of the other Senshi? Will Yuri be able to stay in character? Will dozens of preteen girls be sent home crying after watching their hero be defeated?
It's Halloween in Southtown, and that can only mean one thing: incredibly convoluted fight premises created in an effort to use enthusiastic fighters to drum up business!
...Or themed fights, one or the other.
One such encounter has been planned in an effort to give the younger audience something to enjoy, and Hinata Wakaba has been employed as one of the stars of the show, dressed up in a rather accurate Sailor Moon costume, complete with blonde wig and magical wand. The outfit has actually been supplied by the Taiyo High drama department, and the wand has been supplied by the Dream Amusement Park to make things a little more exciting.
The whole event has been set to take place on top of the largest dining hall in the park, a place normally filled with umbrella shielded tables for people to watch the Main Street Parade or evening fireworks from while enjoying a break from the park's rides and other attractions. For this event, the whole area has been cleared and set up with bunch of Sailor Moon themed decorations, with a few bats and pumpkins mixed in.
For the past half-hour, Hinata has been tirelessly entertaining the crowd, doing practiced poses, giving choice lines, and even talking with some of the younger children. She even brought an assortment of Sailor Moon themed origami that she's been passing out to excitable young girls. So far it's been a great night for the family, and Sailor Moon's opponent hasn't even made her debut yet.
After a little while, Yuri comes out in her costume, looking a bit disgusted. She's dressed up as Anne, one of the Doom Tree children, although her skin is devoid of any makeup that makes her resemble the actual counterpart. It's part of the compromise she made. And yes, she too has a magic wand, although she's looking at it with a bit of disdain and disgust. "Why did I ever agree to do this?!" Yuri wonders to herself out loud as she approaches the area, rolling her eyes as she watches Hinata doing her moves with the wand. "Really, Hinata, we're here for a fight and all you care about is cosplaying?!"
Cracking her knuckles briefly, Yuri shrugs a little and then walks towards Hinata-- Erm, Sailor Moon, and attempts to imitiate the voice of Anne. "Not so fast there, Sailor Moon!" She says, pointing her wand at the Sailor scout leader. "Our Doom Tree needs energy, and you're a perfect match for it!" While she's attempting to make some effort, it's obvious it's being forced. "Now, do you want to surrender peacefully, or are you going to fight me in the name of the moon?" The last words are said with extreme sarcasm.
When Yuri appears on the scene, some of the children begin to shout out warnings to Sailor Moon to look out behind her, and when Anne makes her threat, one particularly young girl shouts out, "No, don't hurt Sailor Moon!"
For her part, Hinata refuses to drop out of character. The children are having a great time, and making sure they have a good time is why she's here to begin with. She twirls around to face Yuri and gets a serious expression on her face. "There's no way I can just let you take my energy! There are people out there who are counting on Sailor Moon to protect them!" She gets quite into the poses as she begins the next section of the speech. "I might not have any of the other Sailor Scouts here with me, but with the support of my friends," she motions back toward the crowd of young girls, "there's no way I can lose! Evil-doer, in the name of the Moon, I will punish you!" She finishes it all off with the classic Sailor Moon pose, both hands with index and pinky fingers extended.
There's a few more cheers coming from the crowd.

Yuri can only roll her eyes and say, "Very well, if you won't come peacefully, then I shall have to fight you!" Yuri, not knowing too much about how Anne actually is in the series, attempts to strike a fighting pose, but ends up losing her balance and falling over after flailing her arms wildly. She gets back up and dusts herself off while groaning to herself. "Damn it," She mutters under her breath. "That wasn't supposed to happen at all! Why me?!"
Whether or not the crowd laughs at her misfortune or not is irrelevant, since Yuri simply points at Hinata again and says, "You think you can defeat me? I have the power of the Doom Tree! You are doomed!" She attempts an evil laugh, but it's obviously forced.

The monster has presented herself, and Sailor Moon is ready for the fight!
Quite honestly, it would be practically impossible to get a real fight out of the awkward flow of Sailor Moon combat, so right off the bat it's not quite the same. "There's no way I'm going to let you and your monster friends take away any of the Moon's power! It's here to protect the Earth and all its people!"
That said, Hinata goes charging foward, still a relative newcomer to fighting (with pretty much only a few sparring matches with Sakura to go on) she starts it slow by moving in and doing a half sweep as she swings her leg up to try to catch Yuri in the side.
Small girls cheer as Sailor Moon gets right into the fight, some of them waving the little origami figures they received in support.

"Then have at you, Sailor Moon!" Yuri calls out, still in character, rushing towards her classmate as she attempts to balance on these boots of hers, not what she's generally used to wearing. She is about to attack when she sees Hinata attempt to strike her with her foot, but Yuri is quick to respond by jumping back a little and shaking her head. "You'll have to do better than that, Sailor Moon!"
Once Hinata's finished her attack, Yuri once again attempts to charge into the fray. "I will teach you a lesson! You will learn to know when to surrender, because evil shall always prevail!" Yuri attempts to punctuate this by grabbing Hinata's arm and throwing her onto the ground.

When Sailor Moon's attack gets avoided and Anne starts lunging for her, some of the girls shriek out. "Look out, Sailor Moon!" Much to their relief, Hinata immediately settles back, and as soon as Yuri's hands come at her, she kicks back away from her schoolmate and does a roll, putting a good bit of space between them.
"That was close," she turns to look back at one of the girls who'd just be shouting and gives her a quick 'V' for victory before turning her attention back to the fight. "Here I come!" sht shouts as she rushes out, lunging forward with a punch aimed right for Yuri's chest. "HYAAAA!"

Yuri makes an in-character noise of annoyance and frustration at the missed attack. "That was just luck," She says, watching as Hinata makes that V for victory sign. "You're so full of yourself, Sailor Moon!" When Hinata comes at her with an attack aimed at the chest, Yuri ducks down quickly, almost losing her balance because of those boots she's wearing.
"No good, Sailor Moon!" Yuri calls out as she attempts to come back up quickly and then knee Hinata in the stomach. "Let's see you take this!"

When the kick comes flying in, this time Hinata sets herself in position grinning as she grits her teeth. The knee goes right into her stomach, and immediately some of the children audience begin to shriek that distinctive high pitched tone that can only be accomplished by 10 year old girls. And for a moment Hinata starts to rock back on her feet...
But she doesn't even stumble, quickling grinning as she locks eyes with Yuri. "Ha! That wasn't enough to stop me, you let yourself fall right where I wanted you. MOON FLURRY BURST!" she shouts as suddenly she rocks back forward, her hands glowing with... somehow golden chi flames that seem to be dripping with hearts. A keen eye might notice the way she holds the wand backwards in her hand, hitting the button and sending the laser into the flames of her personal technique and somehow overcoming the normal look. There's two quick punches before she thrusts her hands forward and a big, heart-shaped bubble of chi explodes right in front of her fists.
It certainly looks like Hinata's putting in a lot of effort.

"You think your magic tricks will work with me, Sailor Moon?!" Yuri asks, mustering up an evil grin as best as she can. That is, until the attack actually hits her, and Yuri finds that she's in a bit of pain from that last attack. She is knocked to the ground, and finds herself realizing that her in-character arrogance has seeped into her out-of-character performance. Yuri's first instinct would be to cry out, but she manages to keep herself in character. "So you got me Sailor Moon," Yuri mutters as she forces herself up again.
"But you can't get me every time!" Yuri spotted Hinata's sleight of hand with the wand, and now attempts to do the same herself. Except she doesn't just do it like Hinata did. Instead, Yuri leaps into the air and yells out, "Feel the power of the Doom Tree!" As she sends forth what should be a blast of chi, but it's got a very dark glow to it.

As the attack begins charging up, Hinata puts on her best surprised face. It's dramatic enough that, with the lighting set up for this fight, it should be fairly easy for the audience to guess her reaction. She also, more subtley, begins rocking back and forth on her heels, waiting for just the right moment as the attack comes in at her, bringing her arms up into a cross pattern and hopping back to keep from being overwhelmed. She even lets out a "Aaaah!" to add to the drama
"I won't be defeated that easily! Especially not by somebody too selfish to truly understand the meaning of friendship!" Okay, friendship hasn't really come up so far, but it's not really that unreasonable to assume friendship could be involved in any Sailor Moon themed fight.
Without wasting much more time, Hinata does a jump forward and then kicks her legs out from under her behind her and begins flipping around, spreading her legs forward in backward as she comes down in the splits, with one foot swinging down at top of Yuri's head.

"Friendship? Who needs friends when you've got an enemy like you, Sailor Moon?" Yuri simply puts on her best evil grin as she watches Hinata block the attack and then go on the offensive again, attempting an aerial attack this time. Hinata can definitely do a good split, but can she hit Yuri from above like that? Well, can she?
Apparently, splitting yourself is a bad idea when attacking. Because just as Hinata comes down, Yuri steps back and watches Hinata get closer to the ground before grabbing her by the neck and throwing her onto the ground. "Ha! Not so tough are you now, Sailor Moon?!" She faces the kids who are most likely staring in shock at their heroine, and gives an evil laugh.
When Hinata hits the ground, she really puts her all into selling the hit, bouncing as she lets out an exaggerated pained shout, then laying on her side for a bit, looking mildly defeated as Yuri taunts to the crowd. There are shouts for Sailor Moon to get up, and one of the youngest girls starts to cry.
After letting enough tension build, Hinata springs back up to her feet. "That's enough! I, Sailor Moon, will not let you threaten any of my new friends, monster!" She goes charging in at full speed, attempting to clap her hands down on Yuri's shoulders and then kick down with both feet against the top of her head to launch herself up into the air. "MOOOOON STOMP!"

"You think you can stop me, Sailor Moon?" Yuri says, her voice now starting to show a hint of tiredness at this lame charade. "Go right ahead!" Yuri waits with narrowed eyes and an evil smirk... one that is erased shortly after when Hinata successfully delivers her 'Moon Stomp' to Yuri, and she finds herself holding her head in pain and crying out. This leaves Yuri with quite the headache, which leaves her dazed and confused, before she shakes off the dizziness and faces Hinata once again.
"Sailor Moon, you may talk the talk, but you are not going to defeat me that easily!" Yuri calls out, her voice trying to stay in character, since the sarcasm she uses could easily be interpreted as being in-character. "Let's see you how you like this trick of those who have the power of the Doom Tree!" Yuri rushes in, attempting to drop down and deliver a rising uppercut.

Thankfully, with all the speeches involved in this sort of fight, there's plenty of time for Hinata to come back down to the ground in between bursts of chatter and threats. The kids certainly seem to be more excited, now that the fight has been going in favor of their hero. Having taken a good spot, the young schoolgirl settles back in a ready stance, watching and waiting for the next move coming toward her. The posture, the pace, the positioning, all of it stands out from Hinata's own training, and a faint grin spreads on her face as she shoots off to the side at the last moment with surprising ease.
Even before she's finished clearing to the side, Hinata's already got her hands cupped at her sides, quickly absorbing as much chi as they can between them into a basketball sized orb that she thrusts out with both hands. "FULL MOON BURST!" She cries out as the glowing orb flies right at Yuri, accompanied by cheering kids.

Obviously things are really getting boring for Yuri, as she's not making any attempt to avoid Hinata's attacks right now. Instead, she puts on the best evil grin she can and says, "Come on, Sailor Moon! Do your best, even though it will only be your worst!" That grin intensifies, although it may be out of fear, as Hinata's attack comes at her, and strikes her hard, causing her to double over and skid backwards, almost falling onto her rear.
But Yuri somehow manages to come back up quickly and yell, "NOW YOU'VE MADE ME MAD, SAILOR MOON!" Bringing both hands behind her back, Yuri starts to channel her chi into her hands... and the wand as well. "NOW FEEL WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ENRAGE THE DOOM TREE!" She then sends forth several blasts of what are supposed to be dark energy, although the only thing dark right now is Yuri's feelings about this whole thing.

Hinata's eyes go wide as the energy balls come flying in at her, and with only enough time to give a quick glance back toward the crowd, trying to make certain that the energy blasts have no chance of hitting anyone watching. Unfortunately, once she's had the time to determine Yuri has lined her shots up right, there's not exactly time to move out of the way, so Hinata stands where she is... and sells.
She puts her arms up in front of her, absorbing most of the blow right on her forearms, but drops down to her knee, gritting her teeth as she allows herself to be pushed back, as if almost overwhelmed by the attack.
When it's finally over, Sailor Moon drops one hand to the floor, doing her best to look exhausted (although she's not a perfect actor, so it's fairly obvious at this point to any trained martial artist that she's putting on a show. "So... so powerful."
She turns to look back at the crowd and gives them her best appeal. "Without the other Sailor Scouts here, I don't know if I'll be able to defeat this monster. Please, lend me your hope and belief and help me be strong enough to keep on fighting!"
The girls in the crowd, obviously, are completely unwilling to risk letting Sailor Moon down. They begin to shout encouragement at her, some of them even clasping their hands together and seeming to will her power.
For her part, Hinata seems to be focusing, settling her energy around her as she seems to get more excited by the encouragement of the crowd.

"So, Sailor Moon's trying to get crowd support?" Yuri hmmphs and folds her arms. "How lovely! But even every one of you won't be able to save your favorite Sailor scout from the power of the Doom Tree!" She shakes her head. "Not in the least bit!" Another evil laugh escapes from Yuri's mouth.
Yuri then gestures to the crowd with her evil grin still there. "But if you wanna try, go right ahead! I'd love to see you all get worked up for your favorite Sailor Scout!" Yuri then turns to face Hinata again, waiting for what she does next. "Come on, Sailor Moon! Try and beat me!"

Here it comes. All of these cheering kids standing right behind Sailor Moon as she faces down her opponent. Hinata settles into a ready stance as a grin spreads out across her face. She seems absolutely energized from all of it. All the energy swirling around her, even a surprise to herself, seems to be clearing away some of the bruises and scrapes that have marked the exposed portions of her body.
...Maybe Hinata is really good at working a crowd.
That aside, she settles into the moment, twirling her wand up as she starts to pose. "With the power of all of my friends behind me, there's no way that you can possibly defeat me, monster! The Doom Tree will get no more spirit power; not from me, and not from any of the people supporting me in my fight to defend the Earth!"
She finally points out toward Yuri, a look of justice in her eyes. "In the name of the moon, I will punish you!"
Then she surges forward with unusual speed, charging in like a maniac as she begins to shout, "MOON JUSTICE KICK!" She dips slightly as she gets in closer, carefully adjusting the positioning of her glitter want and aiming it right along her line of attack, sending a storm of glitter and lights between her any Yuri as tension builds. Finally in position, she thrusts her foot right at Yuri's chest, aiming to launch the "monster" right back out the door she came in from!

"Come on, Sailor Moon! I'm ready for you!" Yuri's preparing a nasty surprise for Hinata as she focuses her chi into her hands again. She thinks she's got the upper hand here, but her cockiness and her boredom with this has gone too far. Before she can even think of launching the attack, Yuri is caught by Hinata, and is kicked quite hard. So hard, in fact, that she goes flying towards the door she did indeed come out of! Talk about making a comedic exit as opposed to having a standard knockdown. Quite a dramatic exit for a villainness!
"I'll get you next time, Sailor Moon!" Yuri cries out as she goes flying. Where she lands is anyone's guess, but she's definitely not leaving in a flash of light like that infamous fighting game everyone loves to play. Instead, she is simply out for the count, and Sailor Moon has triumphed over evil again.
And with that, the crowd goes wild. The joyful cheers of preteen girls fills the air as Hinata twirls around in victory, raising her hands above her head as she fires the glitter laser wand up into the sky. It's a pretty good approximation of the aftermath of an incredible attack, especially as she pops out of the twirl and drops to a kneed position, holding her arms up in front of her, cross in the classic Sailor Moon pose with index and pinky fingers extended, giving a quick wink the crowd.
The cheering goes on for quite awhile; the girls are satisfied with a great, traditional anime finish. The parents are happy that their kids aren't crying. The few regular fight fans enjoyed a pretty impressive show.
There is one figure, however, that seems upset. A man in his thirties with glasses too thick to see his eyes through and a Sailor Moon shirt two sizes too small begins to write a blog post about every inaccuracy in the fight. The Moon Justice Kick isn't even a real finishing move! She's supposed to throw her Tiara and vanquish the enemy! And that Anne didn't even have the right makeup on. Worst! Event! Ever!
Once the crowd has settled down a bit, Hinata pulls herself back up to her feet and points out to the crowd of gathered girls. "SAILOR MOON SAY!" she starts, doing a fancy twirl that ends with one hand on her hip. "It's great to have friends to look after you, and when you've got your pals around, you can usually beat any challenge. But sometimes you need to be able to stand up for yourself! Believe that you have what it takes to succeed, and don't be afraid to get help from a few new friends sometimes!"
Finishing it off, she points at her cheek, cocks her head, and gives a wink. "And that's what Sailor Moon says!"
