Power Surge at FightFest 2025 Closing Ceremony

Pringer X
Event-goers were shocked by what seemed to be an electrical surge during a performance by avant garde rock band CYS during the FightFest 2025 closing ceremony. Electricity appeared to leap from the band's sound equipment into the crowd, which consisted mostly of adult fight fans, teenagers from the local high schools and fighters who had participated in FightFest itself. Fortunately, no actual injuries were reported, though there seemed to be some damage to the band's equipment. When asked for comment by this reporter, guitarist and CYS leader Yashiro said, "What can I say? We rocked too hard. The speakers couldn't handle it. It ain't our fault. Just like that show at Seijyun last year; we just show up and play and whatever happens, happens." This was likely referring to a concert put on by CYS that seemed to induce hysteria in the student body referred to in retrospect by some as 'CYS-mania,' cutting short what had been planned as a tour of free showings at the local schools due to concerns for student safety. An unforecasted storm hit Southtown only hours after the FightFest concert, leading some to speculate that CYS may have drawn the attention of Raijin. This reporter thinks that such superstitions are unfounded, as they didn't perform any of the necessary rituals, and Raijin probably doesn't even like rock 'n roll. He's like a million years old. - Article in Southtown Student Magazine
