Match of the Millennium

Our first round of Rivals will be hosted by Taiyo High, one of Southtown's premier public high schools! Taiyo is known for its burning spirit, so where better to rally the Rival Schools for their first face-offs of the season? -==Official Matches==- Pacific vs Seijyun: Mirielle vs Midori Location: Taiyo High (Auditorium) Mirielle Noctrelle and Himura Midori have been chosen to represent Pacific and Seijyun for the first round! Facing off in the auditorium, the mysterious painter will meet the mistress of hikikomori on the stage! Wait, is hikikomori a fighting style? Taiyo vs Gedo: Nako vs Ayaki Location: Taiyo High (Rooftop) It's time to put the 'high' in high school combat! The spirit swordsman Amano Ayaki will face off against Nako the nue on her home field - or on her home roof, as it were! We're sure that it's safe, as long as the weather holds up! Justice vs Gorin: Inei vs Tsukiko Location: Taiyo High (Gymnasium) Where else would we find the Gorin competitor than in the gym? Tsuki the Spider, as she's becoming known after her bouncy castle debut, faces off against the onmyouji Kuroki Inei! Which one will fortune favour? -==Unofficial Matches==- Signi vs Sana - "The Outsiders" Location: Taiyo High (Courtyard) Signi and Sana are both in attendance to support their schools, but when they cross paths in the courtyard, they soon find themselves crossing fists (and naginata) as well! Perhaps Signi has an allergy to cherry blossoms, or perhaps Sana doesn't like Danishes? Maybe it's a fashion thing? Whatever the reason, while Mirielle and Midori compete officially, these two will be throwing down in an unofficial exhibition in front of the school! Faye vs Keiko - "Stop Reading, Start Doing Pushups" Location: Taiyo High (Library) Faye and Keiko decide to hold a friendly training match in the Taiyo High library. It'll make great content for Faye's channel! It's one way for a martial artist to break into BookTok, anyway...

Extra Credit is a system whereby competitors in Rivals can earn some extra AP for going beyond their required scenes for the round! For the first round, you can earn extra credit by Establishing Rivalry. This means participating in a scene with another Rivals competitor where one of the characters takes action that will fuel a rivalry with the other character and their school. It can also be earned by submitting a cutscene that achieves the same goal. Some example ideas: - Sabotaging a school event (sports, pep rally, band) - Vandalising a rival school's property - An antagonistic meeting in a public place - A diss on social media (and response) - Kidnapping a rival school member's sister (maybe don't actually do this one?) An extra one-time bonus of .5 AP (and bonus AP) can be earned by any Rivals fighters participating in these scenes or writing an appropriate cutscene. Have fun, doodz! - Pringer X
