The video starts with a relaxed lo-fi beat playing in the background as commentator Tom Bradley appears on the screen. TOM: "Welcome, ladies, gentlemen, and all of our other friends, to the official NFG Rivals season! Now, as with our students who are starting their new year in high school, you too may be finding that while the format seems familiar, there are some significant changes and reorganisations that leave you wondering which events you should be checking out, how everything is gonna be scored, and what your new locker combination is. Unfortunately, we can't help with the last one, but we can explain the Rivals format in a little more detail." A list of all of the schools participating in the Rivals tournament appears on either side of Tom. Pacific Seijyun Taiyo Gedo Gorin Justice TOM: "The most important change to consider when it comes to the scoring for Rivals is that it's the schools competing against each other for points rather than the individuals. That means that, for each of the five regular season rounds, each school will be paired off with one other school, each represented by one fighter. Which fighter competes will be chosen by the schools, who will be aiming to give all of their competitors experience. Of course, given the competitive spirits of the schools, we might see some unofficial matches develop alongside the scheduled ones." The schools all pair off, with lines connecting them together. Pacific ------------ Seijyun Taiyo -------------- Gedo Gorin -------------- Justice TOM: "So, in our first round, one fighter each from Pacific and Seijyun face off, and the winner will score 3 points for their school, and one for the losing fighter - or two points each for a draw. At the end of the season, the school with the most points will be declared the regular season champion and win a special twenty million yen donation from Professional Fighting Worldwide on top of the arrangements already made with schools and competitors. After that, though, we'll have an end-of-season championship where all of our competitors will compete - and we'll have more on that at the time!"
