Policy Update: Story Complete
Hello player,
Going forward, we will be moving ahead with a new policy meant to reward people for the successful closure of storylines. While the details are still beng ironed out, the policy will be considered effective immediately. From now on, any player who successfully closes out a storyline with their character will start seeing some bonus AP to spend on that character.
Notably, the payout for strong story closeouts can get pretty big if you run it right: If you can successfully run a plot that resolves your character's story to its conclusion and then allows you to drop the character, you can potentially get the entirety of your AP spent on that character refunded. This can go towards starting up a new character with new hopes and dreams.
A few caveats apply. Not every plotline will be awarded huge bucks, obviously--bonus AP is dependent on the size of the storyline closed, and the number of actual (not NPC temp, and especially not staff NPC temp) players involved in it. So if your character sacrifices themselves to save the world leaving behind a constellation of connected characters, it's going to pay a little more than just resolving your rivalry with that angry one-eyebrow kid across the street.
We institute this policy because a lot of people have great ideas, but are limited by concept over time. So rather than force a character out of their depth, risking them becoming abandoned or even worse, totally redesigned beyond recognition, it's better that you have a powerful incentive to execute on the ideas you had when you first started out with the character. This adds to the narrative of the game, and allows you to build your own legend.
Best of all, there's no application for this bonus AP. Just write (Conclusion) in your log/desc for the last log in the series, and if we haven't noticed already, we'll review it. Just make sure it's clear what storyline your log is concluding, along with which scenes are contributing to it. Good luck out there!
