Match of the Millennium

The broadcast begins with the NFG logo and theme song, which soon disappear to be replaced by the figures of Tom and Lou, alive and well, each wearing a suit and stood comfortably to either side of a screen. TOM: "Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, and all of our other friends!" LOU: "Yep." TOM: "I'm Tom 'Tasty' Bradley, and with me tonight is 'Loverboy' Lou Harris, fresh from our experimental reality show, 'Return to Zack Island.'" LOU: "Yep." TOM: "We certainly had a lot of fun on Zack Island, and we apologize to those NFG fans who may have missed out on attending our planned live events due to the inclement weather that afflicted Isla Zaca." The screen between the two shows a shot of Zack Island bathed in intense rain as smoke and ash billow into the air from the island's volcano. LOU: "Yep. That was some weather, alright." TOM: "However, we're sure that you'll enjoy the Return to Zack Island action streaming on NetKicks and Slamazon Prime Video; release date to be announced." LOU: "Yeah, it's gonna take some... editing." TOM: "For now, though, it's time for the NFG's top competitors to battle their way to the Season 2 Championship in the final tournament of the season!" LOU: "That's right! After their relaxing tag tournament beach vacation, it's time to start knuckling up and kicking butt!" Lou mouths something that might be 'Seriously?' at the camera. TOM: "Yes, indeed. And rather than dwell on the relaxing beach vacation on Zack Island, why don't we dive right into the bracket for our Season 1 fighters?" LOU: "Sure, let's do that." The championship bracket for Season 1 fighters appears on the screen. (https://challonge.com/nfgseason2S1fighterschampionship) TOM: "So, as we can see here, Lou, we have nine competitors from Season One after the surprise last minute addition of Ayala to the competitive roster." LOU: "Yeah, she was eligible after collecting Zack Coins on Zack Island and therefore scoring NFG points for Season Two." TOM: "However, she'll have to fight her way into the quarterfinals by facing Sarah, AKA DJ Supernova, who has been competing all season." LOU: "Yep. Her late entry this season belies her experience and capability, though. After all, nobody else has as much history with fighting [CENSORED]." TOM: "I thought we weren't going to mention [CENSORED] on the broadcast, Lou." LOU: "Look, I'm not saying [CENSORED] definitely exist, or that we ever saw any [CENSORED] on Isla Zaca. I'm just sayin', Ayala's definitely dealt with what she calls [CENSORED] at some point, and it shows in her fighting style." TOM: "Well, it could be that DJ Supernova has some [CENSORED] experience under her own belt at this point. Whoever wins, they'll have their work cut out for them when they face our score leader in Chevelle Beaumont in the quarterfinals." LOU: "Chevy's a real good fighter, Tom. She's brave. I'm glad she'll be competing, despite getting... so much sun on Isla Zaca. You know, with that complexion." TOM: "...Indeed. And while DJ Supernova facing Ayala at the historic site of Chichen Itza is sure to be a great match, this does mean that most of the fighters in our Season 1 bracket will be starting the tournament slightly behind the Season 2 bracket, which will be commencing with the quarterfinals." LOU: "In light of that, let's move on to the Season 2 fighters' bracket." (Continued in next post!)

(https://challonge.com/nfgseason2S2fighterschampionship) TOM: "Our Season Two Fighters' quarterfinal matches will be held at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, one of the largest wrestling venues in the world, and a special venue for luchadors and luchadoras everywhere." LOU: "And now, it's gonna have a gunslinging origami fighter facing off against a sword-swinging son-of-a-stuntsman." TOM: "Referring, of course, to Henry and Arisa, the battle at the top of our bracket. Placement clearly favours Henry, but Arisa's had some impressive showings in the past." LOU: "And a mighty morphin' catgirl against... another guy who swings swords!" TOM: "Presumably referring to Max versus Albert, our fourth and fifth seeds. Amongst the second generation, these two are probably the most synonymous with brute force, and this match one of the toughest calls." LOU: "And a kung fu rock'n roller against a dragon girl... who also swings swords!" TOM: "Our seventh seed Ishida facing off against second seed Tanwen. There may be a gap in their standings, but Ishida won the last time that these two met." LOU: "And a scorpion gal against a former matador... who also swings swords." TOM: "Roxana versus Rodrigo, another rematch - and one that went right down to the wire back in the Odyssey." LOU: "Man, we got a lotta sword swingin' going on. It's like they all got inspired by the first season. After all, we had two shining examples of swordsmanship, grace, and competitive drive back then." TOM: "I only remember one, Lou." LOU: "Okay, maybe it works better if you take out 'grace' and 'shining.'" TOM: "Ah, yes. Two examples indeed. So, we'll see you all at the Arena Mexico this week! I'm sure some Season One mentors might use their week off to pay visits to their mentorees' matches!" LOU: "No doubt! I'm lookin' forward to the local cuisine while we're there!" The camera cuts to an advertisement for El Fuerte's Restaurant as the theme music plays again.

Greeting, doodz! It's tournament time! As we're now back to singles matches, the timeframe for completion of these will be back to the previous turnaround. All matches need to be completed and submitted by end of day SUNDAY, DECEMBER 1ST. Please get in touch with your scene partner ASAP. If you haven't started or scheduled your match with them by SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24TH, then let me know by @mail or on Discord. Sarah and Ayala's play-in match will be held at Chichen Itza, Mexico. This can be accessed by entering stage/use Mexico - Yucatan - Chichen Itza. All other matches this round will take place at Arena Mexico in Mexico City. This can be accessed by typing stage/use Mexico - Mexico City - Arena Mexico. The tournament will be using the same rules as previous NFG tournaments. In the case of DKOs, the player with the higher final health total will be considered the winner. As Season One NFGers (with the exception of Sarah and Ayala) aren't scheduled to fight this round, they're encouraged to support their tag-team partner by spectating their match where possible, or pursue other RP in the meantime!
