(Bracket: https://challonge.com/nfgfightfest2023) With the first round of the bracket concluded, the second round of matches have been announced. The bracket appears on-screen as Tom and Lou settle in to comment. HAWKSLEY versus COCO TOM: "I'm sure that Coco will be pleased to know that her next match is against Hawksley 'The Zombie' Moore." LOU: "Shall we have a reminder of what happened last time she saw Hawksley?" =*= FOOTAGE: ZOMBIE SIGHTING =*= Coco turns around to face Hawksley as he touches her arm. "I already showed my card at the bar, love -" The sight of Hawksley's swollen nose and bruised jaw cause her to recoil abruptly, her blue-grey eyes widening. "Zombie!" She reflexively pushes a hand into Hawksley's face to keep him away. =*= END FOOTAGE =*= LOU: "It gets better every time I watch it." TOM: "Indeed it does, Lou. How do you think this match is going to go?" LOU: "Well, now that we've seen how these newbies fight in a tournament setting, I'd say that Coco's got the technical advantage, but that might go out the window if Hawksley turns it into a scrap." TOM: "Not to mention having to worry about being subjected to the zombie infection. I'm sure that might throw her off her game." LOU: "At least she knows how to avoid getting bitten." TOM: "She did get bitten in her last fight, though." LOU: "That was before she learned the 'hand to the face' technique." TOM: "In all seriousness, though, she'll also have to contend with Hawksley's command of fire, which she hasn't shown any ability of her own with." LOU: "To be honest, it doesn't look good for Coco, but maybe fighting a chick that looks like his ex will throw Hawksley off his game." TOM: "You've seen the side-by-sides too, huh?" LOU: "It'd mess with me, for sure." (Continued in the next post!)

DJAMILA versus SARAH TOM: "These two were in what were probably two of our most controversial matches in the first round." LOU: "Yeah. Sarah wouldn't even be here if it weren't for Sayuri getting disqualified for inhumane behaviour. You gotta imagine that that makes Djamila the favourite." TOM: "Sarah certainly seems like she has the spirit not to let what happened in the first round get to her, though. She seems too optimistic for that." LOU: "A dee-jay fighting a stripper. This sounds like the kinda party I used to love when I was a strapping young lad." TOM: "Or at least a young lad, anyway." LOU: "I'm just sayin', I hope somebody pumps up the volume here. We could get some real dance moves goin' from these gals!" TOM: "I bet you'd like that, Lou." LOU: "Of course I would, Tom. Who doesn't love dancing?" NIXIE versus BRIAN STORM TOM: "This one sounds like it's going to be a classic heel versus face match." LOU: "I hope you're not painting Nixie as a heel just because she's a green goblin gal, Tom. This is the twenty-twenties." TOM: "I was more referring to the fact that Nixie uses tricks to defeat her opponents, while Brian is more of a pure wrestler." LOU: "Brian has too much edge to be a pure babyface, though. He's willing to take it to the extreme to defeat his opponent." TOM: "And as per a stipulation in Brian's contract, this one will be taking place in an actual wrestling ring." LOU: "Talk about homefield advantage. I wonder why Djamila doesn't have a stipulation in her contract saying all her matches take place in a strip club." TOM: "Or why Nixie's matches don't take place in a cave?" LOU: "Jeez, Tom. You can't say that! Goblins don't all live in caves. Some of them have their own settlements and even contribute to the kingdom's economy." TOM: "Is this from that game you've been playing again?" LOU: "Let's just call this one a definite win for Brian and move on." TOM: "That I can agree on. I can't see anyone stopping the Storm from blowing through the competition." TAMAKI versus GENIE TOM: "I have thoughts about this one, Lou, but do you have anything you want to say first?" LOU: "Nope." TOM: "Oh. Well, uh, then I just want to say, I really hope that that Tamaki doesn't take advantage of poor, naive Genie." LOU: "There you go again. What's your problem with darkstalkers, Tom?" TOM: "You know that's not fair, Lou. You and I both spent the better part of a year working for the most famous Darkstalker on the planet!" LOU: "Yeah, and doing contract work for Demon Queen Lyraelle Darkheart would put anybody off of darkstalkers." TOM: "She's a woman who knows how to write a contract. She probably has a good lawyer. That doesn't mean I dislike darkstalkers, though. I'm talking about what we witnessed in the first round." LOU: "If you're talking about what we witnessed in the first round, then maybe you should be worrying about Genie blasting Tamaki away with that power she seems to have trouble controlling." TOM: "What happens if Tamaki turns herself into Genie, then Genie reflects Genie-Tamaki's attack back at herself?" LOU: "You know what? That's the kind of question I'd like to see answered. TOM: "Well, that wraps up our rundown. Thanks for sticking with us, folks! That's not all the content coming up for you this week, though!" LOU: "That's right, Tom! Up next is the bonus round!" Fighting Festival 2023 Round 2 Bonus Round (1/2)

While they may have been eliminated from the tournament, the Southtown Hotel has no intent of letting the fighters waste away with nothing to do! The following event has been arranged to be held at the Hotel this week. DEMOLITION DERBY: Thanks to an anonymous donor, FightFest have managed to procure a collection of vehicles for the purpose of celebrating a time-honoured tradition on the fighting circuit: wanton destruction of property. Contestants will compete to destroy their vehicle as quickly as possible, with bonus points for style. This is an opportunity for the fighters to show the sponsors what they can do when they let loose their full martial arsenal without consideration for their own self-defense! HOW TO PLAY: Participants will be split into teams of two. Each team will be breaking down a car in a different section of the hotel's parking garage. Various implements have been scattered around the vehicles for the more RESOURCEFUL fighters to use, should they so choose. Teams will pair off to scene separately (i.e. separate stages) both for the sake of timeliness and to make sure nobody inadvertently attacks the wrong vehicle. Once teams have entered the stage and +joined as appropriate, the minion system should be used to create a DestructibleCar minion. This minion is meant to represent a standard-sized car of the team's OOC choice to be destroyed. Once the minion is loaded use the command ai off, then ai on to reset the car's AI. The team should then take turns attacking and posing the results of the attacks at the end of each round (judging by the state of the car's HP bar). The cars have a predictable defensive strategy. Ignore any OOC existential complaints given by the cars, those just mean they're working as intended. If your car isn't reacting to attacks after all players have attacked, this probably means the minion AI was not reset; try turning it off and on again. If all else fails, summon Pringer.
