TOM: "And with our Star Wars festival matches still ongoing, that leaves just two upcoming matches to discuss!" LOU: "I guess we start with our third place match, then! DJAMILA versus TAMAKI COCO: "So, this was the match that I was hoping would be our final." LOU: "Oh, really? You seemed so impartial on the rundown, though." COCO: "I swear, you're as cheeky as Hawksley." LOU: "It may surprise you to know, but I, too, was known as a handsome scoundrel back in my day." TOM: "Never mistaken for a zombie, though." LOU: "Nope." COCO: "Oh, have you two seen that bloody 'Zombie!' meme on Hitter as well?" TOM: "Can't say that I have." LOU: "Not a clue. What 'Zombie!' Hitter meme?" COCO: "...Right. So, I'm just saying, I think this will be the match to watch." TOM: "It'll definitely be interesting to see how these two interact. With her reliance on senses other than sight, will Djamila have the same susceptibility to Tamaki's tactics of misdirection as others before her?" LOU: "That's a good question, Tom. My guess is, whatever other senses she relies on will be just as susceptible as anyone's. It'll be up to Djamila's intuition not to fall for Tamaki's tricks." COCO: "Oh! Is that what you call fight analysis?" TOM: "We do it on occasion around here." LOU: "Only in short bursts, of course." COCO: "Makes sense. You don't want to exhaust yourselves." HAWKSLEY versus NIXIE TOM: "...Our final match!" COCO: "Go, Nixie!" LOU: "So much for revealing our votes at the end." TOM: "Speaking of votes, you can vote for your favourite to win the tournament between Hawksley and Nixie on our website!" LOU: "And the vote's not just for the fans, this time, either. We've been told that the prospects will each get to submit a secret vote themselves, and if they pick correctly, they'll get an extra NFG point!" COCO: "Wait, really?" TOM: "It's true! And with no bonus round to prepare for, I expect we'll see most of our competitors at the final." COCO: "There's no bonus round this time? I heard there was going to be a water cannon." LOU: "Ha. The old 'water cannon bonus round' trick. I mean, I'm down for watching all the ladies getting hosed down by a water cannon." TOM: "Sounds like someone's been pulling your leg, Coco. Are you sure you're not talking about an audition for 'New Fighting Girls Gone Wild?'" COCO: "Blast..." LOU: "As for a match that's actually happening, here we've got it. A scrappy goblin who'll stop at nothing to win the tournament -" COCO: "And Nixie." LOU: "- and, I was going to say, a straight-up brawler with a no-holds-barred fighting style." TOM: "These two may use completely different tactics, but they do both seem completely unrestrained in their respective approaches. Hawksley treats every fight like a punch-up at the local dive." LOU: "And Nixie will stab a man with a straw. A straw!" COCO: "Gosh, did she really?" TOM: "Absolutely. She nearly blinded Brian Storm four times in one fight!" COCO: "Oh, no! But he was so lovely when I met him at the children's charity tent!" LOU: "I know! He may talk a lot of smack in the ring, but outside of it he's a real stand-up guy." COCO: "I still hope Nixie wins, though." TOM: "Imagine if Hawksley ends up blinded for life." LOU: "Or permanently crippled in an explosion." TOM: "Or all his fingers glued together." Hey, doodz! A few notes for the finals! BONUS ROUND =========== As scheduling difficulties have been rife with the last bonus round consisting mainly of triple-threat matches, there won't be a bonus stage for the Finals round. Instead, contestants who have finished their round 3 bonus matches are encouraged to ICly spectate the Final match in lieu of a final bonus round. NFG prospects not in the final four can submit their IC vote for who they expect/want to win to me, Pringer X, by Discord or @mail, before either competitor in the final is reduced to red health. If they predict the winner correctly, they will win a bonus NFG point. For those not familiar with IC spectating, this can be done simply by posing in the scene at any point without joining the match CSYS-wise. Pose order for those not fighting is not enforced; spectators should ideally not slow down or disrupt the match itself. Sponsors are also encouraged to spectate the Final ICly! SPONSORS ======== The interview deadline for sponsors is being extended to the end of the Finals. With or without the interview, those sponsors who have not contacted me since +signing up MUST contact me (on Discord or by @mail) to confirm that you're still interested in participating to ensure that sponsors who are announced are still active. This will be especially important to ensure that the draft proceeds smoothly. Those who miss out will have a chance to rejoin a sponsor team in the event that they become active again (and contact me). DEADLINE ======== The deadline for the final match and third place match, as well as the extended deadline for unresolved Round 3 bonus matches and for sponsor interview submissions, is EOD Wednesday, May 24th. After the end of the bonus round, I'll be hosting an NFG Afterparty social scene from Thursday May 25th to Tuesday May 30th, to which all participants, sponsors, and anyone else who'd like to show up will be invited. After this scene ends, the DRAFT will begin! More details on the draft will be released when the tournament is complete! Thanks again for participating, everydood!
