SNF 2010.12 - Mind and Spirit -- Farah/Fuerte vs Ingrid/Megane

Description: A wide field with two pairs of fighters on it, each perhaps a little mismatched from the other. Will the distance prove to be a massive handicap, or will the fighters use it to their advantage? (Winners: Ingrid and Megane)

It's Saturday Night Fight! For various scheduling reasons, there's a few less fights this week - but this just makes the crowds that much bigger. And noisier. Although some names are said louder than others, and a certain Gedo student's name is completly drowned out - if, indeed, anyone is saying it.

Megane walks into one end of the field, with a strung composite bow carried in his right hand. A black quiver with many arrows is hung over his shoulder. Not something he usually brings with him, but in an engagement that could very easily end up at long range... it doesn't fit very well with his normal 'Gedo punk' image, though. He reaches a hand up to adjust his glasses, looking at the far side of the field for a moment, calculating that distance once again, before looking back to the area around him.

The frenzied shouting of the crowd makes for an exhilarating battle ground, and for Ingrid it also makes for a very fun one as well. As she walks to her corner of the fighting arena she waves to all the attendees, enticing them and doing her best to help work them up, a pleased smile sitting placidly on her face. She offers a quick wave to her teammate, a relative unknown to her, unable to introduce herself to him due to the rather intentional distances involved. When she finds her place she does a few stretches before releasing a few quick strikes at the air, several of them filled with her trademark sparkling golden energy, before offering a warmer, brighter smile to those in the stands nearest to her.

For whatever reason, Farah's discussion with Howard Rust on a park bench across town from this very place has somehow given her a little more determination to go on with stepping into the professional arena than she had before. Fighting Antoine, even the battle in Rome on the Via Appia... there's been something on her mind. But she's going to resolve to do her best, for now, and try to put her doubts behind her for the time being. If Via Appia taught her anything, it's that thinking too hard might have been her problem all along.

Of course, when she's shepherded to her corner of the Taiyo Dome athletic field for the fight, she turns and looks across the distance toward where the other pair-off will be fighting, and sees -- of all people -- that Gedo boy that made the fight in Rome such a... the word Farah would use is 'fiasco'. Despite herself, the Egyptian can't help but feel her lips turn into a frown, but for the moment she's on the opposite side of the field from him, and should think about her own opponent, whenever said opponent arrives. "Come on, Farah," she mutters to herself, taking the cobalt blue ribbon that's her trademark and tying it around her right wrist, the long twin tails of the bow trailing out behind her arm as she gets into stance. "Pull it together."

All of this energy and excitement! This may not be a wrestling ring, but the roar of the frenzied crowd makes at least one participant feel as if he is at home. El Fuerte is psyched up and ready to go. He has been around for awhile and has been watching people filter in and he has sat back and waited as the other fighters showed up as well. That is when it finally seems like the luchador is finally ready to make his presence known to everyone.

"IT'S....." comes a loud cry as there is the sound of bleachers being burst through and fans let out a yelp in surprise as the firey Mexican warrior erupts from the crowd and sails through the air. "DYNAAAAMIIIIIC COOOOOOOKING TIIIIIIIIIIIME!" he declares and comes to land gracefully on both feet and poses with one hand on his hip and the other pointing into the air. He grins widely and that hand comes down for him to give a thumbs up towards the other three fighters before he waves to Farah. "Oh hey! It is you!" he calls out to here from across the dome. "GOOD TO SEE YOU!"

His attention shifts to Megane where he nods towards the younger fighter. "You! I hope you are ready to endure the power of the Hurricane of the Gulf!" He seems certainly ready to go as he rolls his shoulders and pops his neck a few times. "LET US DO THIS!"

Megane raises a hand to his teammate across the field, then lowers it after a moment. He of course has things he'd say to Miss Holmann if he was near her, but shouting across the battlefield isn't really his style.

At the sudden arrival of the Lucha Libre cook, he blinks, then smiles slightly. "El Fuerte. I've always wanted to test the power of my wind against you." Which is more of a pun than anything, but he sounds like he means it, and he really does want to fight ElFuerte - he's heard he's strong. He raises his hand to his pair of glasses. "Unfortunately, I'm in a team battle, so I can't fight selfishly."

With that, he turns, and makes a rather selfish move. He whips out an arrow and fires it in a lazy arc which falls into the ground near Farah's feet - not an attack, but rather, there's a piece of paper tied around the shaft. He watches her across the battlefield, curious to see if she'll read it or not, what her reaction will be. Then he squints - perhaps he should have brought binoculars.

Now that everyone has made it into the proverbial fighting ring there's much more for Ingrid to do than simply showboat and try to work up the crowd. She gives Farah a few moments to absorb and enjoy being the center of such amazing attention, giving an amused look to El Fuerte as he pumps himself up and shouts to his team mate. Though it might not be visible on the outside due to her careful composure, it's this reaction that's closest to her own among the other three fighters in the ring.

The arrow sailing through the air brings a slight gasp from her, but she relaxes a little once she realizes it isn't aimed at Farah so much as near her. Brazen attacks on the unready can certainly be a good way to bring a fight to a sudden beginning, but they can sap some of the fun out of it as well. She gives a curious look to the paper attached to the arrow, and then turns her gaze to the person to whom the message was sent. "Now my interest is piqued," she quips to the Egyptian, "I wonder what that is about. I'm Ingrid Holmann, by the way, and very pleased to meet you. Let's put on an exciting show for them, shall we?"

An... arrow. In actuality it's Fuerte's yell to her that makes Farah turn back around and look, and she does smile and wave at the Hurricane of the Gulf. They've only met the once, but the Egyptian has great respect for the Mexican chef-wrestler, if only because of his great enthusiasm and passion for the fight, something Farah is struggling to keep exhibiting within herself. The issue is that when she turns to wave, an arrow lands literally in the ground at her feet, and Megane's still holding the bow when she tracks its trajectory across the ground. So there's a note.

Well, we'll just be--

Ingrid enters the scene, and Farah stiffens, before standing up straight at the waist, turning to her assigned opponent on this end of the field, Megane's note entirely forgotten. Her senses are screaming at her, Soul Power ringing in her ears. When she met that policeman from Metro City who also shared her abilities, he was slightly unsure of himself, new to using those abilities, and even then she could sense it. In Ingrid, this is another issue entirely. "Farah Tenjou," the Soul Star says with a blink, then an even smile. "And I suppose we'll just have to wait and see when this is all over."

She gets into a fighting stance, feet lose, body carriage open and even. "Best of luck to you. Let's hope we both learn something new in this battle."

The power of wind? Well El Fuerte is like a hurricane so he supposes it would be only fair someone would want to try to use their powers of wind! He seems jovial all about it until he sees Megane beginning to use the bow and arrow. "Amigo, what are you-" he is cut off as that arrow is fired and while it is harmless it seems like the luchador draws conclusions way to fast. "You shouldn't use such a dangerous thing in this fight! I will just have to teach you some manners!" Yeah, he seems to have decided not to pay attention to where that arrow is landing.

Instead he is like a blur as whatever distance was between he and Megane is quickly closed and the quick Mexican reaches to just grasp Megane and pick him up. Speaking of danger he never thinks for a moment that trying to heft Megane up while he has that quiver attached to him and tossing him into the crowd could result in some lawsuits for the poor luchachef. Even if the officials weren't ready it seems like this fight is off to a start as is.

Megane blinks as ElFuerte blurs in, and in a moment, he's sailing throw the air. He realizes he's sailing towards the crowd, and drops his bow, grabbing onto the railing seperating the stadium from the crowds, and holds on with every ounce of strength he has, causing his left shoulder to dislocate. He flips himself back off of it, landing on his feet, and grabs onto his left arm, yanking it back into place with a pop, gritting his teeth, and he glares at ElFuerte as he raises his right hand, wind beginning to spin around it. "Okay, people fight with weapons all the time. Attacking fighters with weapons is one thing, they can deal with it. But let me make one thing perfectly clear for you. You do *not* do anything that could harm the audience!"

He rushes towards El Fuerte, aiming the hand with whirling winds around it for a punch straight at Luchadore's face, jagged blades of wind kicking up behind him as he accelerates. At the moment, the only thing he is focused on is staying up until he causes serious pain.

There's an eruptive cheer from the crowd as the fight gets underway, and Ingrid turns her head towards the spectacle for a moment, tapping gently at her chin. "It seems they've started without us." Her own stance loosens and she relaxing, her arms held placidly at her sides as she begins to sway in well-timed rhythm. "I share your sentiments entirely. It is so fun facing an opponent I never have before- every move a surprise. I believe I'll enjoy myself just as much as the crowd."

Sure that her opponent is ready for her she springs into action, breaking into a quick sprint towards Farah before leaping into the air, moving almost unnaturally high before suddenly veering back to the ground, intending to land behind the other fighter, back to back. Rather than attack from above as might have been expected she whips back around, her arm sweeping low and releasing a swath of psychic energy towards her legs, body low to the ground as she attacks.

Owing to her last few experiences in the ring, Farah reacts to Ingrid's sudden assault by letting her intuition do the work. It actually helps her quite a bit in this case; rather than overthinking and trying to predict where Ingrid will be, Farah takes a breath and just lets her feelings take over. The fact that Ingrid appears to be bursting with psychic power doesn't hurt, either; once it starts gathering for the strike, Farah reads its path and even as Ingrid steps low, the Egyptian does too, sweeping her beribboned arm into the path of the attack in a similar arc, managing to deflect some of it away. Still, though, the Norwegian's attack makes Farah briefly hiss with the force of it. Apparently she's got a strong will indeed.

"I hope that's the case," is all Farah fires back, before deciding to strike while the iron is hot. Ideally moving in and attacking before Ingrid can get away, the girl steps in a circle, owing to the Chinese martial art that makes up some of her style, and then follows the flow of the movement, bringing an arm up and then down in a circular arc, effectively 'chopping' somewhat at Ingrid's shoulder, possibly even hammering her into the ground if the blow strikes true enough.

COMBATSYS: Megane successfully hits ElFuerte with Rush Punch.

The problem is El Fuerte gets too easily excited in some cases. This would happen to be one of them. He isn't the type to get people hurt. He just wishes to entertain and have fun. In this case he got a bit too carried away. "Amigo, you make a good point." he says in response when he notices what he did could have been harmful to the crowd. It is that pondering that might be why he is just a step too slow when that punch comes inwards and easily slams into the luchador and knocks him back several steps.

"Very well! The Hurricane of the Gulf shall be more careful!" he declares as he juts a finger in the air and reaches up with his other hand to lightly rub at the blood coming out his nose. "Partner! If you need help just give me a call as well!" he calls over to Farah as he barely is even looking when he steps forward in an attempt to grab Megane and pick him upwards. He intends to lift the fighter up with legs in the air and head aimed at the ground before he falls downwards to drive the latter right into the hard surface of the dome floor.

Megane is grabbed, and his head is slammed straight into the ground. He lies there for a moment as El Fuerte gets off him, trying to get his senses back, and then climbs back to his feet, adjusting his glasses, which have become slightly skewed on his face. "I'm glad to hear that, El Fuerte. I don't like to see civilians exposed to danger they didn't even ask for."

"...That being said, I intend to win this, and fighting you head on might not contribute to that, because I think you are a little stronger than I am. Plus, I would like to have a few words with Miss Holmann and Miss Tenjou before this fight is over." And he really wants to pay back Farah for last time. So he turns, and runs straight towards her, his eyes focusing on his target as he gets in better view of her.

Though Ingrid can't quite tell what it is that Farah does to be able to deflect her attack, that an arm kept her from completing it she can. Quickly withdrawing so as not to be met with an ultra quick reprisal, she pulls back half a step and smiles, "Now I am positive it will be. Well done." There's not enough time for further banter, however, as her opponent wisely goes on the offensive. She doesn't recognize the Chinese style for what it is, but seems aware enough of the implications, twisting to keep herself facing Farah while she circles.

When the chop comes she reacts with great speed, lifting her arms and crossing them, catching the assaulting forearm in the center, wincing a little at the moment of impact. This is far from a purely defensive maneuver, however, Ingrid quickly adjusting to try and grab the arm before it can be retracted and stepping close to Farah. If she gets her hold she'll twist the arm painfully to hold it behind her opponent before using the opening to press her palm against her back, a sudden flare of golden energy bursting into existence, chaotic tendrils flashing about, as if trying to escape.

Intuition is one thing, but it can't help you every time. Case in point, Farah can see Ingrid's attack coming, but foreknowledge isn't the same as being able to perfectly handle whatever comes. There's a swirl of starry night-colored Soul Power that flares into Farah's ribbon as she turns toward the attacking Ingrid, attempting to sweep the two tails of it into the path of her grab, but it doesn't quite make it, the light-haired girl's technique going off without a pitch and making Farah hiss in pain. Say what you want about the beauty of the night sky, but it looks like the sun is eclipsing it entirely in this battle. The fact that when she finally turns away from Ingrid's grip to face her opponent she sees Megane coming over the proverbial hills toward the two women doesn't seem to improve her mood, either. "Here comes trouble," she murmurs, exhaling a slow sigh.

A quick catch and release. Who says wrestling cannot be like fishing in some sort of weird way? He luchador is quick to spring to his feet and he then laughs some as Megane speaks. "It is very true. There is no reason to ha.....hey!" he seems dumbfounded for a moment when Megane goes rushing off and he slaps his cheeks a few times. "We were not done, were we!?" He cries out and he soon dashes forward too. In fact he is probably going to pass Megane at the speed he moves, but he turns about on his heels to where he is facing Megane and backpedaling.

He raises a hand and he wags a finger as he gives a bit of a frown. "Now that is no fun, amigo. Leaving me without a dance partner and all that." he chides as he seems not to strike. Instead he seems more on keeping track of Megane's movements and also using his footwork in an attempt to keep himself between Megane and the other two fighters, though of course the right movements can always mean he could get punked out and easily be run past.

COMBATSYS: ElFuerte focuses on his next action.

Megane blinks as ElFuerte passes him, and looks into the masked wrestler's eyes. "Your speed is impressive, El Fuerte, but in a team match, I have to focus on more things than merely my dancing partner." He smiles slightly. "I prefer to dance with women, regardless." Still, El Fuerte's ground based moves seem solid. He frowns for a moment, glancing right, and then blinks, realizing his move, and quickly making it.
With a wind-chi assisted jump, he leaps up into the air over El Fuerte, grabbing arrows from his quiver and throwing them at Farah. He does this several times, but not having a bow cuts down on the speed of the individual arrows a little bit, even if he can do it with both hands. Still, there's a lot of them in the air - half a dozen, at least.

The brilliant flash of energy dissipates immediately once Farah pulls herself away from Ingrid, the Norwegian seeming to prefer to stay at close range for the moment, not backing off. As she might normally do, seeking to press her advantage. "That was beautiful," she comments about the display of Soul Power, "perhaps you can show it to me some time when I can admire it without needing to worry about getting caught by it."

She catches sight of Megane and El Fuerte moving closer, looking in their direction just long enough to see her partner throw fistfuls of arrows in Farah's direction. For a moment she hesitates, feeling a twinge of guilt, before quickly circling around behind Farah, both shielding herself from potential collateral damage and pinning her between the proverbial rock and hard place. Thus positioned she gives a short hop while flipping backwards, her feet kicking out for the other womans chest while releasing copious amounts of glittering gold, a sharp cry of "Yosha!" punctuating the flash kick.

She is trying to stay calm. But given the way he keeps interjecting --

"Agh! What...?!"

-- Farah's going to lose her cool with Megane soon.

Dealing with Ingrid is bad enough; the Norwegian woman is fast, and her psychic powers well-honed. It's just about enough that Farah can manage to interpose her arms between herself and the incoming glowy kick so that it doesn't simply bowl her over outright. But then a stray arrow sails by her head, just as Ingrid rebounds away, and the Egyptian realizes Megane is there halfway across the field, firing them at her and totally ignoring El Fuerte. Incensed, she twirls, glowing ribbon slicing the air between them, but to be frank there are too many arrows in total to really do anything about. One after the other find their mark, until there are at least seven lodged in Farah's arm, sides, and hips.

Slowly, methodically, the Egyptian plucks the arrows from her body, ignoring the seven trails of blood now scarring her white clothing and dripping onto the green grass of the Dome. Her emotions -- indeed, something approaching her *hatred* if the look in her eyes is any indicator -- are fully vented on the Gedo student. "What do you WANT?" she bites out. It should be relatively clear that she doesn't mean this fight, either.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to win a fight. El Fuerte is just as competitive as anyone else when it comes to wanting victory. What he doesn't seem to appreciate is how his team mate seems to be a beacon for incoming attacks from both sides. He frowns as he watches over his shoulder and notices Farah get hit with the flurry of arrows as well as getting battered by Ingrid's attack as well. "Come to my side! The Hurricane of the Gulf will help you!" he calls out to Farah.

Of course his attention shifts back to Megane. He may have jumped high and tossed those arrows, but El Fuerte seems ready to jump upwards as Megane starts to land and slam a knee right into his stomach. He then attempts to twist about and get both lets both legs around Megane's neck. "Hwaaaaaah!" he shouts loudly as he corkscrews through the air and comes downwards to slam Megane into the ground if he gets a proper grip. He will then be quick to release and get back to his feet.

A luchadore knee is slammed into Megane's stomach as he lands, but as the legs come up, he brings up his own hands to either side, stopping the legs in midair before they can constrict on him. He slowly lets out his breath, and looks over to Farah for a moment, and beckons to her with his hand - not something easy to see, but he's not going to yell across the battlefield, and he has a good reason to believe she has very good perception.

With that, he turns back to El Fuerte. "It seems ignoring you isn't going to pay off very well, either, but I'm not good at taking on two foes at once."

With that, he takes a step back, swivelling back towards Farah, then raises his arms, palms together, and lets a series of wind blades loose at her.

As Ingrid continues her flip and lands on her feet she sees the results of Megane's attack, briefly concerned for her teammate when Farah looks ready to deflect his blows with her ribbon. Stopping the urge to wince as several of the arrows find their mark, she briefly considers for a moment before calmly circling around Farah. But rather than positioning herself for another attack she quietly disengages from her opponent, walking towards the center of the arena and towards El Fuerte and her teammate. "That won't be necessary," she responds to him as he tells his own ally to move closer. "I think it's about time we were introduced, don't you? Ingrid Holmann, a pleasure to meet you," she offers, taking the time to brush some stray white hair over her shoulder. Never mind that he's in the middle of trying to crush her allies head against the ground.

To Megane she offers a quick smile, "It seems you two have some things to discuss? Why don't you go speak with her?"

Frankly, it was over before it even began, for Farah. She'd hoped to have the chance to battle Ingrid seriously a little longer; though it was clear that the other psychic had more experience and skill on her side, in Farah's eyes this is simply the best way to learn. But then came interference, and more to the point, Farah having to defend herself on two fronts at once, with a serious handicap against one of her attackers. That she would end up beaten and fatigued is no surprise, and so she tries her best to get away from the bursts of wind, but there is little she can do to avoid them at this point.

When the Egyptian gets to her feet, she is unsteady to say the least, but she doesn't come to join the others. Instead she fixes her eyes on Megane and, drawing herself up as tall as she can, wears a regal expression. Farah knows that she is conventionally attractive, by modern standards, but makes a conscious effort to downplay it when possible... this also means, however, that she is capable of consciously attempting to use that regal beauty when necessary. Despite bleeding wounds and intense pain, she stands tall and proud.

"I'm not sure what you were trying to prove in Rome, nor what you are trying to prove here," the girl says, not attacking, simply holding her ground, taking a breath now and then. "That you are some sort of master strategist, 'playing' everyone like a fiddle? I frankly find you a scavenger of the worst sort, a carrion bird at best." Her hands come up, and a glow of that starry night sky-colored Soul Power surrounds her like faerie fire. "Besting me on the battlefield doesn't prove your dominance... my soul burns strong even if my body is broken. So come on then, if that's your aim."

There is a raised brow and he shakes his head. El Fuerte may not know of the history between these two. "Hmm, and you call yourself a man. Not liking to take on two opponents and attacking someone who has already distracted by a fight. The Hurricane of the Gulf disapproves of corwards." It is a strangely even tone and somewhat serious. Not something that often comes from El Fuerte at all. Of course he soon finds Ingrid changing her direction and coming towards where Megane and the luchador are.

He shifts about as he faces the young woman and he gives a nod. "A pleasure. I am El Fuerte." he then seems to grow less serious and he rests a hand on his chest. "It means The Strong One!" he says with a laugh. "I see at least one member of your side has manners." he tells her and he falls back into his fighting stance quickly. Of course the other part of his introduction is the fact he seems to allow Megane just a moment of being unbothered and instead he slides forward towards Ingrid. "Then if he is scared of me let us play!" He seems to be all smiles again as he attempts to stick an arm out and take Ingrid's legs out from under her as he slides past. "Hup!"

Megane frowns slightly at El Fuerte's words. "This is just a game to you." A slight hint of disapproval in his tone.

He raises his voice as he looks over to Farah. "Miss Tenjou, I'm sure you think that battles should be fought with the heart and the body, not the mind. But I'm not fighting this battle to amuse myself, or to amuse you, or even to amuse the crowds. I'm fighting it to train, so that next time I need to defend someone, I'll be able to do something. Holding back and doing things other people consider 'fair' just makes both of us fight less seriously. If we both fight with every last ounce of our strength, we'll get stronger."

He lowers one hand, and pushes with the other, a quick gust of wind blowing along the battlefield towards Farah from his palm.

COMBATSYS: Ingrid effortlessly dodges ElFuerte's Quick Throw.

"Now now, Mr. Strong One. A man who prefers to fight without honor is still a man. Just an honor less one," Ingrid chides in a teasing tone. Hearing what Megane says to Farah she also adds, "And I suppose he has a point, but even if I were here solely to train I'd have to have a little fun with it." As if to prove her point when she's grabbed for she gives a small spinning jump, twirling a bit in the air as her legs just slip past El Fuerte's grip.

After making an easy landing she spins around to face him as he moves past, lifting her arms into the air and then sweeping them downward towards him, releasing large swath of sparkling psychic energy at him, enough to almost completely immerse him. "See? Now this is fun!"

That response doesn't seem to perturb Farah in the least; quite the opposite, actually. Carmine's words from their fight come back to her, words that she thought were quite apt: 'Nobody wins in these fights; someone just loses faster'. That much, she thinks, is absolutely true. Violet eyes stare down the Gedo student, but the Egyptian's lips curl into a faint smile. "It's not about fairness. I knew what I was getting into when I signed on to this... game show. I never asked you to hold back."

How does one strike the wind? It can't be seen... but Farah doesn't bother to try. She closes her eyes, brings her beribboned arm up, and at a time of seemingly random choosing, swings it downward through the air. Rather unexpectedly, there's a ripple in the air, and then something... heads back toward Megane, even faster than before, and now with motes of that cobalt blue Soul Power flowing through it.

Bringing her arm back around, Farah opens her eyes and continues on with her statement as if nothing had happened. "But there is more than simple strength of body or mind. Strength of character, of the spirit, is something important, and to paraphrase a famous quote, our strength of character is not shown when things are easy, but when we must make difficult decisions."

Fun, that is what stuff like this is all about, right? Kids these days and their Linkin Park. If they would learn properly there wouldn't be such weirdness going on. So much seriousness in the world today. Here he is an adult and he is having more fun than the teens are. That just seems downright wrong. He is impressed also by the dexterity that Ingrid shows in keeping herself easily balanced despite the luchador's efforts to take her down. He just grins as he comes back to his feet. "An honorless sourpuss. I like how you put it!" He is probably drawing his own conclusions there, but this is more like it. Performing for the people and having fun while doing it.

He speeds forward towards Ingrid again and then he goes a bit wide eyed when she starts to summon forth that energy. He has too much momentum carrying him forward in this case to where he can't really get out of the way. Instead he just leaps upwards and he slams into Ingrid as well as sailing into the swath of energy created. He lands a bit awkwardly and he shakes his head to where he stops seeing double. Sometimes accidents do work out it would seem!

Hit by his own blast of wind, albeit it rather enhanced by Farah's energy, Megane is knocked over, flying head over heels for a moment before smacking into the ground.

He slowly climbs to his feet, then jogs towards Farah, but he's not really in a hurry to get there, and he doesn't use any of his wind. No, it's enough to merely get there.

As he gets closer, Megane speaks up, his voice not so loud it would carry to El Fuerte and Ingrid. "And that's why I presented you and Miss Takayanagi with a choice at the Via Appia, Miss Tenjou. To see your strength of character. It was quite interesting." He smiles slightly. "It seems I'm at the advantage, this time, so: if I'm unconcious before you are, I'll do any one thing you ask." Riling people up, giving them choices... this is how Megane sees who people really are. Although it's more of a mind than spirit thing.

The crowd seems to buy in to El Fuerte and Ingrid's sense of fun, giving a loud cheer as the masked fighter slams into the blonde psion as she attempts to engulf him, the young woman letting out a sharp gasp of pain as he collides with her, her body being driven into the ground beneath him when they both land. She rolls out from beneath him and gives a slight shake of her head, fairly woozy from taking such a sudden and unexpected impact. "It seems, El Fuerte, that I am going to have to be a little more cautious with you than I thought." Lifting a hand to her head for a moment as the pain starts to subside, she backs off a little ways from him, opening up some space between them whereas she had opted to move in close to Farah.

COMBATSYS: Ingrid focuses on her next action.

"I decline," the Egyptian says simply, saying no more about it. That the crowd seems to appreciate the banter and battle between El Fuerte and Ingrid more tells her a lot more about where she would rather be, and that's in the fight with people who seem interested in it for the sake of the battle. To that end, gives a slight wave to Megane, and then starts walking away from him toward the other two, deciding to take a short breather in the meanwhile. Even in so doing she likely won't be in the fight much longer, but she plans on giving it everything she has until then.

The luchador grins to Ingrid. "Of course I am one to worry about! I am the Hurricane of the Gulf!" he declares once again in case no one got that the first few hundred times he has said such a thing. His gaze does shift slightly as he notices Farah starting to come in closer and he gives the woman a nods. "So nice of you to join us!" he tells her while smiling wide. His attention quickly shifts back to Ingrid as well. He seems to consider things briefly and he sort of lets his own footing shift slightly as if circling some and looking for an opening.

Now if he found one remains to be seen. Instead he seems intent instead to burst forward at high speed. His hands reaching forward for Ingrid as he leaps forward. His intent to get his hands on her shoulders and to plant his feet against her midsection before he rolls backwards and use the momentum to toss Ingrid up into the air and away. "Ole!"

Megane blinks at Farah's words, then smiles slightly as she walks back towards the center, but he's pacing himself, and decides not to run after her. "As you wish. It seems you have a advantage at ranged, so I'll focus on taking apart your teammate for now." He turns to look at Fuerte, raising a hand to push back his glasses, as he walks towards the earlier bloody arrows that Farah discarded after he threw them at her.

"Then I'm sorry I underestimated you! I promise I won't do it again," the blonde replies in a friendly manner to El Fuerte. Seeing Farah come closer and leave Megane behind she looks upwards and taps her chin, with a pondering look upon her face. "Well then, this will be quite the challenge. Very well, I'll give you both every thing I have. I welcome the opportunity to test myself." Now set in her determination she readies herself as El Fuerte rushes at her, that extra bit of space she opened up between them the deciding factor as she summons up a large amount of power, a bright flash of gold emanating from her before she leans forward and taps at the air in front of her.

A small golden triangle appears in front of her, followed by a large swirling disk that shines into existence around the masked opponent, surrounding and binding him before he can reach her. Happy at her little catch she gives a small smile as the disk begins to rise, dragging her caged opponent into the air with it, caught by the psychic power while she teases him with a little salute. When it's rather high up it disappears and he drops, the blonde lifting her arms to draw upon one final time before leaning forward and holing her palms towards him, her large symbol of the Eternal Goddess burning into existence around him for one last assault before he can hit the ground.

"Thank you," Farah says to Fuerte with a grateful smile, even as she grimaces somewhat at Ingrid's deft turning aside and subsequent counterattack to the Gulf Hurricane's own technique. The violet eyes turn to Ingrid afterward, and the girl clears her throat. "Lest I be called a hypocrite," Farah says evenly, "it gives me no great joy to face you two on one. But for myself, I'd like to keep testing my skills against you. I don't... meet many fighters like you," she finishes, perhaps a little awkwardly, and it's implied she likely doesn't mean JUST Ingrid's particular style. "It may be selfish, but those are opportunities that I can't pass up. Forgive my indulgence, both of you, please."

With that, however, she takes the fight to Ingrid, bringing her arm up and taking a deep breath, then charging the lithe blonde. There is no hum of Soul Power, no starry glow, for this attack; as far as Farah is concerned, she would like to show that she has other strengths as well. That said, the cobalt blue ribbon does flow through the air as Farah's hand lashes out to strike Ingrid's stomach, open-palmed; if that connects, the Egyptian continues through the dance-like motions of the technique, a series of punch-then-step that moves in a lazy circle around Ingrid, changing angles of attack every few moments, until finally Farah attempts to maneuver behind her and push outward with both palms. It's a pure Bagua technique, rather than Farah's improvisations on Alma or Rose's attacks that she often uses.

Huh, that is strange. El Fuerte seems to find himself hitting something solid that is not Ingrid. He doesn't realize just how much danger he is in as he finds himself trapped in that energy prison. Then that is when that painful blast sends him flying up into the air. As he needs assistance to fly! It actually looks like he is giving a salute back as he goes flipping through the air and crashes off into the crowd which elicits a few cries of surprise, though it looks like everyone got out of the way which is a good thing.

All is quiet there for a moment as people check the hole that was made in the bleachers from where the luchador impacted. That is when another cry of surprise among the crowd is heard and El Fuerte bursts out from said hole and goes sailing through the air. "EL FUUUUUEEEEEERTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" he cries out loudly as he hits the floor and goes sliding right towards Ingrid. It seems momentarily both Megane and Farah are forgotten about. The luchador's focus is on the girl that just blew him up! He leaps out of that slide and attempts to slam a powerful knee into Ingrid be it when she avoids Farah's own strike or if she is pushed forward by it. What may follow is a spastic array of kicks and punches that ends with one big flipkick intending to slap both feet into Ingrid's chin. "DYNAAAAMIIIIIIIIIITE!"

Well. That looks like a nasty combo.

Megane is slightly glad that he's not getting hit by that, but he's also envious of the chance to try to defend against two such powerful attacks at the same time. He draws out an arrow, ready to throw it at El Fuerte, then furrows his eyebrows as El Fuerte gets hurled into the crowd by Ingrid's... giant symbol. His eyes narrow. "It's all fun and games until someone innocent gets hurt." But apparently no one did this time, and he waits until El Fuerte rushes back towards Ingrid, and then hurls a flurry of arrows towards the masked wrestler. He's a little angry again, and he's taking it out on El Fuerte, even if it's not, strictly speaking, his fault in any way this time.

Now it is Ingrid's turn to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. In such situations she tends towards either brilliant success, or catastrophic failure. In this case, however, the result is somewhere in the middle. She squares off against Farah as she begins to circle around her, slightly weary of the method of attacking. That depth of ability is something that is often found lacking in Ingrid, who relies almost solely on her ability to control and manipulate her psi.

But right as Farah is starting to make her attacks, which Ingrid manages to move out of the way of, there's a loud shout which draws the Norwegian's attention. She looks over to see Fuerte rushing at her from low, and her eyes widen, her arms quickly coming up to interpose themselves between herself and the oncoming knee strike, only to have them crushed into her body by the power of the blow, leaving her effectively helpless for the stream of punches and kicks that follow, the flipkick launching her an impressive distance and, notably, rather out of reach for the remainder of Farah's remaining attacks.

Landing with a dull thump, the blonde staggers a little as she gets to her feet, aware that she's still in quite a bit of danger. Knowing she needs to buy herself some time she looks towards Fuerte and quickly whips her arm in an underhand motion, a trail of sparkles trailing behind it while a large ball of shining energy lifts into the air from her hand and arcs towards him.

Perhaps had she focused solely on developing her Soul Power abilities, Farah might indeed be 'stronger' than she is right now... but even as she misses Ingrid entirely, the young woman is glad that she didn't. That she could give a more experienced fighter a moment of pause through versatility makes her quite pleased indeed. As it stands, this also encourages Farah to keep going, driving in toward Ingrid even as she is standing up from Fuerte's attack, trying to duck under and around that glowing ball of energy to twist and snap a knee up, looking to drive it into Ingrid's stomach.

Great success for El Fuerte! The luchador is panting a bit after that. He is full of energy, but that exactly wasn't easy for him to perform. Not when he just spent the past few moments prior being blasted through the air and into the bleachers. He seems like easy pickings for the most part, but it seems he just needs to take a quick breath before he is in motion once again. He sees that flurry of arrows and he becomes almost a blur as said arrows will not be gathering more blood on them this time around. Of course getting out of the way of all of them leaves him rather vulnerable to Ingrid. He attempts to twist about to avoid her own attack, but is blasted away again and goes tumbling.

He lays there on his back for a few moments and then he quickly kips back up to his feet. "No! The Hurricane of the Gulf must go on!" he declares loudly and he wobbles a bit instead of standing straight like normal. He is more content on staggering forward then leaping at Ingrid once again while Farah distracts her. His intention is mostly to try to grab Ingrid by a shoulder then swing himself around. "FAJIIIITAAAAAAS!" he cries out then attempts to just use his strength to lean backwards quickly and pull Ingrid off the ground and flip her about to let her head meet the floor. "BUUUUUUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Megane ponders running in to help, but that doesn't seem like good strategy. He's an archer, right now, he can stay back. "Miss Holmann, I suggest you retreat to my area." He pulls another arrow from his quiver, watching El Fuerte turn into a blur once again. He raises up a hand to his glasses, then puts it back down before touching them.

He spins around on one foot with his hand held out as far as possible, two fingers grasping the shaft, turning into a blur, then releases the arrow, which streaks towards El Fuerte.

Concentrating on her psionic gifts has cost Ingrid in certain areas, and help in others, but the simple truth is that she does it because that is how she defines herself, and her fighting style. To spend long hours practicing how to throw better punches, or how to pin people to the ground would be effective, but it would be untrue to herself. Neither fighters way is better, but different and unique to themselves. And that is a good way for things to be.

For the moment, however, Ingrid has the drop on Farah as she comes charging in under the ball of energy, leaning forward and tapping at the air as she did when fighting El Fuerte. The disk that appears this time is much smaller though, but intervenes perfectly between Farah's foot and herself, disappearing on the moment of contact while it's energy binds and entraps the Egyptian so Ingrid can sweep her arm upward to send her flying off into the sky- she doesn't have the energy or time for a more showy display at the moment, what with El Fuerte bearing down on her.

She has just enough time spot him approaching her, twisting away as he grabs at her and just managing to slip from his grip as he starts his spin. She gives a quick relieved breath before looking over towards Megane and calling back to him, "No, thank you. It is quite exhilarating to be the center of so much attention!"

She knew when she started her 'assault' on Ingrid that she didn't have much fight left in her, but it was something Farah chose to do anyway. In the end, she didn't appear to make much different in the fight either way, but as far as she's concerned, the Egyptian is satisfied. If anything, a certain faint similarity between her own style and Ingrid's has given the Soul Star much to think about in directing her training... but perhaps more importantly, the entire experience has reminded her why it is she chose this path in the first place: to be an example for others, and to shine in the darkness so that others might see the path.

Thus even as she slams to the ground after Ingrid's deflection of her kick, Farah has no regrets.

Well, perhaps one. "Thank you... for indulging me," she says to Ingrid, grimacing and clutching her stomach for a moment, before glancing at El Fuerte with a faint smile. "I am sorry I was not more help to you... hopefully this hasn't caused your experience to be too negative, on the whole."

With that, she steps off the field and to the tables and chairs set up for SNF crew and for the fighters, if they don't end up lying face-down on the field in the end. It looks like for now, Farah is done here.

Those hands miss their mark when he goes for another grapple and the luchador is left landing awkwardly while maintaining his balance. Something that is even harder to do when that arrow sinks into his shoulder and causes the luchador to bite on his lip from letting out a pained cry. He tugs the arrow out which causes another visible wince and he snaps it in half as he notices Farah walking off. A brow raises and he gives a shrug. Apparently she was not one to have fun this time around. Fuerte just turns to Ingrid and he gives a bow even as the blood leaks out from where he was pierced. "Senorita, it was a pleasure. I think the Hurricane of the Gulf would like to meet you again for a more proper and fun battle."

He straightens back up and gives a grin to her before he waves down an offical. "Excuse me if we do not continue. I wish to check on my friend over. I congratulate you." he sort of pauses and looks to Megane then looks back to Ingrid. "And I suppose only you for being a good fighter. I cannot give praise to a man that chooses to be a coward and let a woman fight for him." He then turns to stalk towards the bench to check on Farah and allow the medics on hand to dress his wound. Megane walks closer, and as every sense he has is focused on El Fuerte, he hears him, or at least enough of it. His eyes narrow slightly, and raises his voice. "Your fighting style is impressive, El Fuerte. But you're more concerned with your fake rules and your own fun than increasing skill, or the safety of the audience. That's pitiful. Still, if you want to fight one on one where there aren't so many innocents that could get hurt, I'll take you on any time."

He turns to Ingrid, and smiles, any hint of anger gone from his face as he puts on another mask. "Congratulations on your victory, Miss Holmann. I knew you were strong, but if we fight again, no matter which side I'm on, I will not make the mistake of underrating your skill."

Ingrid looks over to Farah as she slowly gets up, giving a shake of her head, "There is no need to thank me. It was a pleasure to fight you, and I hope we get the opportunity again some day. And perhaps you would like to speak some time as well? We seem to have much in common, you and I." This little speech might have gotten her into trouble normally, but luckily for her El Fuerte is more concerned about the health of his teammate than making a last stand.

She returns his bow with a polite nod, moving out of her fighting stance into a more poised posture, arms crossing lightly over her stomach, "I would enjoy a rematch against the Hurricane of the Gulf, sir. I'm sure we could have much fun together, in that regard." After a short pause she picks up that chiding tone again and adds, "But you should be more careful with your words, Senor. A woman could take it as an insult that it is wrong for a man to rely on her. I have been very reliable, have I not?" finishing with an amused smile. To Megane she offers a nod, "Why thank you, it is so nice to be appreciated, though as much as you have been criticized for it, I don't believe I could have succeeded without your help. "
