Description: SNF has decided to hold a basketbrawl fight in the lovely Taiyo Dome. It seems like the odds are stacked against Yuri since she is facing off a man that is used to this sort of thing in Lucky, but she is a Sakazaki that is used to having to overcoming the odds. (Winner: Lucky)
The Saturday Night Fight league has always been known for coming up with creative ideas for their fighting scenarios, but this one really takes the cake. Yuri has been paired against Lucky for a game of basketball... or should that be called a basketBRAWL? Because not only are they fighting, but they're also playing basketball at the same time. The standard knockout rules still apply, but there will also be the opportunity to score a basket during the fight. If a fighter scores five baskets, they win the match also. Talk about two ways to win instead of just one.
Lucky might be a sports person himself, but Yuri isn't out of the sports world either. She's known for playing a great game of softball, in fact it's one of her favorite sports outside of the martial arts world. While she hasn't really played basketball much, she knows the basics and has a fair idea of knowing how to play and what the rules are. Of course, without any fouls being called today, things will be a lot simpler.
Yuri has ditched her gi for this fight, replacing it with a purple basketball top. Her tights and her sneakers and socks remain, leaving her otherwise unchanged in terms of her uniform. For the time being, Yuri takes some time to do some stretching before the basketbrawl begins, getting encouragement from her fans at the same time. Of course, Yuri's got that big grin on her face that just speaks of spunkiness and self-confidence. Typical of Yuri!
They really made it to where Lucky would feel at home in this match. Granted he may have felt better on a street court than in a gymnasium he has to admit he liked the concept that the fight officials came up with for this one. Maybe he should have been signing up for this stuff more! If he knew it could have been this fun he would have been joining up waaaaay back. Of course he also hasn't had to deal with the more zany concepts so his mind is just swayed in a more favorable light at the moment. He wasn't the one stuck going up into a plane or a wrestling ring this weekend afterall.
He is idly dribbling a ball and showing off a bit of fancy footwork while he waits for things to start. He needs to get in the zone. And even while Yuri is much smaller than him that also means more than likely she is going to be alot quicker in this case. He smiles wide at the smaller fighter and he raises a hand. "Heeeeeeey. Ready for a good game of b-ball?" he asks. Of course it isn't a normal game, but he would like to consider it a pickup game like he sometimes plays in Philly. You are looking to make baskets, but getting a fist in the gut or face is also going to happen no matter what.
As Yuri finishes her stretching, she jumps up into her standing position, and looks to Lucky. "A good game of basketball? Well, that all depends. What do you consider to be a good game, huh?" Yuri may sound like she's being sarcastic, but in reality, she's got a very big grin on her face. "If you want some action mixed up with a little of your basketball, then I'm sure I can definitely oblige you!" Yuri giggles a little, before going over to grab a ball and dribble it a little herself to prepare herself, demonstrating a few 'unique' methods of dribbling and doing fancy footwork.
After that, she turns to Lucky and smiles. "All right, if you wanna get started, go right ahead." She lowers her eyebrows into an evil smirk. "But I'm warning you, I may be more familiar with softball, but that's not gonna stop me from holding nothing back against you!" She gives a raspberry before resuming her stance. "Let's go!"

Well she certainly seems much different than her father in a few ways, but at the same time Lucky can see how Yuri is the man's daughter. He chuckles some at the display and he gives a nod. "I will do my best to entertain and keep you from getting bored as well." he replies while giving a nod. The official of this match is actually dressed as a ref and in order to get the game started he gives a blow on a whistle that lets the fighters know that it is time to start. They also got someone manning the scoreboards so people can check out how many points are scored, if any, during this match.
With the whistle blown Lucky starts to dribble a bit faster. he actually seems to consider what he should do, but for now he takes it easy as he just idly jogs forward and he goes to see if Yuri can jump high enough to even get in the way of one of his shots. He grins a bit and he gets a light hop back as he casually takes a shot at his basket. "Ballin'."

Yuri's grin still remains as she says, "I hope you can, because I'm really hoping for a good game here that will get the crowd going... as well as myself!" Yuri says as she keeps a steady eye on Lucky. "Come on, I'm ready for ya!" She shows that she's no slouch when it comes to playing defense as she moves swiftly to try to keep Lucky on his toes.
But then, he goes in for a dunk. Forget that title about men who can't jump due to racial reasons, anyone can jump if they try hard enough. Especially Yuri. She jumps up and goes in for the block, and succeeds. Although, blocking a dunk does hurt a little bit. But that's probably normal for basketball players when they play an aerial defense. As soon as Yuri gets down on the ground, she goes for the loose ball and rushes for her basket, dribbling and shuffling before she gets into shooting range. Unlike Lucky, who wanted to attempt a slam dunk, she decides to attempt a simple jump shot.

Looks like the girl has quite good leap to be able to get the height needed for the block. Then again he doubts they would have made this matchup if they felt that she couldn't keep it to where things would be fair. There would be no fun in a seven footer dunking over a little girl over and over. It seems that it he is quick to backpedal and try to keep up with Yuri when she manages to get the ball and run with it. He speeds up as well to jump upwards and he slaps the ball away from the basket before it gets too close to the rim.
He whews and chuckles as he gives Yuri and encouraging nod. Looks like she definantly has the speed advantage. He might have to play more on the defensive side of things when she has the ball. What he does attempt to do isn't really for the sake of basketball, though. He knows other people want a fight so he figures he should oblige on that end as well. Once he lands he leaps upwards again, this time bringing up a long leg and swinging it forward as an arch of blue energy erupts from his shoes and he attempts go kick Yuri right in the torso. "Lets give the non-basketball fans something to like as well!"

"It's good to do something different for a change, yeah!" Yuri says, almost like she's cheering. But then she realizes that Lucky's not talking about taking a breather. He's attempting to deliver a swift kick at her. And from the air no less. Apparently, being a sports player means your air time for attacking gets good too.
"Oh no you don't! Yuri says as she steps back with a quick hop, and then brings her arms out in front of her. With a yell, she brings up a spherical shield of energy around them and brings them upwards to deflect Lucky away. "Happy landings!" She says, giving an eyeball and a raspberry at the same time.
The kick hits something, but it isn't Yuri. Instead he finds it smacking right into some sort of energy she has created and uses to toss him backwards. He he goes head over heels and then lands a bit hard on the court. He is quick to scramble back to his feet at least as he shakes off the cobwebs. Looks like much like Takuma she is full of all sorts of surprises. He'll have to be more careful it would seem. She can probably easily block some shots with that thing too.
He holds out a hand and a basketball is tossed his way again, though this time of trying to drive forward and score he cocks his arm back and slings the ball forward, right for Yuri. "Here you go, kid. Try out another shot against me." he offers as he starts to get prepared for any sort of retaliation she might have if the thing clocks her in the noggin.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing with that?!" Yuri asks as Lucky grabs a basketball. "You're supposed to be shooting that thing at the hoops, not at me!" When she sees it coming at her, Yuri ducks down, hoping it'll pass over her head. But it hits her directly in the side of the face instead as she twists to the side. Yuri goes down to the ground and lies there like she just got hit by a flagrant foul.
But this is a basketbrawl, not a standard basketball game. Yuri forces herself back up, relieved she's not bleeding from her nose like she thought she might be, and then turns to face Lucky. "All right, you want me to try making another shot? Well, then, I'll gladly oblige you!" With that, Yuri grabs the basketball and goes for the hoop, except this time she leaps into the air and attempts an Air Yuri slam dunk!

Grins a bit after tossing the ball and he gives a bit of a shrug. "The fans seem to be cheering so all is well. It isn't just basketball afterall. There is a brawl in there." he mentions and at least is trying to be as good natured as one can be when locked into combat. Maybe it is just part of his ploy to frustrate Yuri and see how aggressive she might get. The more physical this game gets the more the fans are going to cheer afterall. If they wanted to see a regular game they would just be here on the nights the Taiyo teams take the court.
He nods when she says she is going to oblige and he gets ready for her to come at him. As she leaps upwards to dunk the ball he leaps up as well. He actually jumps forward as his hand slaps at the basketball again and another rather flagrant foul in a standard game is made when he also knees Yuri in the gut when they collide. He might go a bit more easy on the girl if she wasn't a Sakazaki, but Takuma might not forgive him if he didn't attempt to toughen up the girl just a bit.
Oof! Yuri's dunk is stopped big time, and she goes down to the floor hard. "Foul!" She cries out, briefly forgetting that this isn't a real basketball game. And when she does get back up, she finds her head is a bit swollen from where she hit the floor. She scowls at Lucky and says, "That wasn't very nice! You hurt me bad! Now I'm really mad!"
Never mind the bad poetry there, Yuri seems to have lost her sense of good sportsmanship as she rushes at Lucky and attempts to deliver her own personalized version of the famous Dragon Punch.

The official may be dressed like a ref, but he shakes his head. There isn't anything he can do about it at this point. Once the match started all real rules pretty much went out the window in this case. "Come on, I know you are tougher than that. You are a Sakazaki, right?" He just hopes he isn't pushing things a bit too far. He doesn't want to make the girl cry or anything. Of course it seems like he really doesn't have to worry about that in this case. He has to quickly stagger back out of range from the thrown punch and he lets out a sigh of relief at making it out of the way.
"That's the spirit!" he tells her and grins. While she is in close Lucky makes a quick grasp for her jersey before she can fully recover and he attempts to spin on a foot and give her a toss away so he can start to scramble back towards where the basketball they have been using has rolled off to. "Gotta go!"

"Indeed, I am a Sakazaki!" Yuri says as the referee says her surname. "I'm tougher than I might look! Sure, I'm a girl, but I'm no ordinary girl! I AM A SAKAZAKI!" And with those last words, Yuri waits untill Lucky is about to grab onto her jersey, and then she does a backwards roll, moving away from Lucky like a human ball.
"Ya missed me! NYAAAAH!" Yuri says, obviously a fan of the Three Stooges as she razzes Lucky again. And then, she notices that one of her fans on the sideline is offering her a sports drink. Grinning, Yuri accepts it and gulps it down quickly. "Thanks!" She says, handing the bottle back. "If I had a pen I'd give you an autograph! But you'll have to wait!"

He might have missed, but he seems more than fine to continue on his way to grab the basketball. with it in hand begins to dribble as he gives a name. "That's the spirit. Don't let the rough housing get to ya." he tells her and actually gives a thumbs up with his free hand. He does raise a brow as she decides to take a break in the action to get herself a drink, but he just shrugs and decides that is a good enough time to dashing right for the basket.
Those long legs carry him towards the basket quickly and he quickly jumps up high into the air with one arm extented as it palms the ball. Downwards he comes and he goes to slam dunk that basketball right into the rim with quite a bit of force. "Oh yeah, Lucky's on fiiiiiiiii-ah!"

"Oh no you don't!" Yuri says as she rushes for the basket. "If you're on fire, then I'm gonna extinguish you!" Her thirst quenched and her vitality regained somewhat, Yuri shows no sign of slowing down as she literally turns to face Lucky while keeping her back to the crowd. He may think he's got a slam dunk up his sleeve, but Yuri won't have it that easily.
"I am a Sakazaki! I let nothing keep me down!" Yuri shouts as she leaps into the air, going right for Lucky himself to block the shot by using not just her hand, but her whole body as well. Unfortunately, it hurts more than just a standard block, but the way she lands sets her up to grab the ball and make another attempt for her basket... albeit looking slightly sluggish.
"Ouch, that smarts," Yuri thinks to herself, "I should've considered the consequences, but oh well!" With that, Yuri goes for a shot, hoping that she can't miss this time.

He wasn't expecting the girl to recover so quickly and get to the basket and block his attempt and throwing the ball down. It probably didn't feel all too nice either given the force he used in an attempt to dunk. He lands on his feet and he quickly has to get in position to try and block the shot that she attempts. He ends up missing with his swat and he winces when his hand slaps the rim. To top it all off the ball goes into the basket and the scoreboard goes to show Yuri has a point now to Lucky's zero.
He gives his hand a shake. Dang that smarted just a little. He grasps the basketball again and he starts forward, though this time he is running right towards, Yuri. He then goes to toss the ball upwards and over the girl as he goes to grasp at her again. It is his attempt to grap her and toss her right over his head and away as he scurries to try and chase down that ball once again. "Coming through."

Yuri is caught, despite her best effort to get out of the way in the nick of time. She gets flung over Lucky's head and goes onto the ground, causing her to yelp in pain. She winces a little, then tries to get back up. Somehow, though, she loses the ability to get back up briefly, but then gets back up. She would cry foul, but there's nothing that can be done obviously.
"Hey, you! Come back here!" Yuri shouts as she brings her fists back behind her body and summons forth her energy. Then, she sends it forward in a blast with a loud yell to top it off!

It is a good thing Lucky actually decides to look back over his shoulder. It gives him enough time to realize a nice deathly ball of energy is coming his way. He attempts to move out of the way, but ends up getting smacked in the side even as he mostly gets out of its path. It causes him to stumble, but he makes it to the basketball and scoops it up. "All right. I'm coming back now." he says with a grin.
He turns about and dribbles back up the court, he is trying to use his fancy footwork to make the girl guess what he is going to do before he finally does jump upwards. He launches a nice fade away jumpshot that archs perfectly in the direction of the net with hopes he can tie things up.

"Come on, I'm ready!" Yuri says as she moves towards Lucky, attempting to prove that even if she doesn't do well with her offensive skills, she can still play defense. In fact, Yuri's obviously reading Lucky like a book, since just as he gets into position to shoot, the girl raises her hands above her head. But it's not to make a jumping block.
Nope, she's got a better idea in mind. She calls forth her energy once again to deflect the shot just as it comes up. To top that off, it looks like it's going right back at Lucky. "Hey, catch!" Yuri says grinning.

Damn she is still too quick. What looked like a perfect shot is turned into a denial. even worse is the fact that the ball is being thrown right back his way. While this is sort of a good thing since it gives him the ball back he rather not get hit with the thing sailing towards him. He actually plants his feet and he reaches upwards with his hands and he brings them downwards to slap that ball towards the ground.
That ball was already glowing a bit with energy, but now it is looking like some sort of fireball as it impacts the court with enough force it breaks through the wood. The impact also seems to cause all that gathered energy to be repleased as it goes sailing right in the direction of Yuri. "You can have it back!"

"I don't want it back!" Yuri complains as she sees the ball coming back at her faster than usual. First it was basketball, now it's dodgeball! Yuri isn't sure what to do, so she just braces for impact, but to no avail. The ball hits her, and while it doesn't hurt that bad, given how much pain she's already in, Yuri's taking quite the beating here.
"A true Sakazaki," Yuri says weakly after recovering her stance, "Isn't going to back down even when down on their luck!" She steps back and waits for Lucky to make his next move. Whether he's going for the ball or going for her, Yuri intends to be ready.

Lucky might have to just point Takuma to watch this match since he isn't sure the old codger would even look at the television otherwise. He would be proud of his daughter and her defiance. Then again Lucky might get in trouble for the fact Takuma told him not to be messing around with basketballs on his watch. Though this is for monetary reasons so it should be okay, right? Oh Lucky, you truely have a long way to go in understanding the Sakazaki clan.
He chuckles a bit at the response the girl gives at not wanting the ball and he continues forward with ball in hand. He then tosses the ball upwards again and doesn't attempt to make a shot. Instead he looks to be plowing right into Yuri as he jumps with an attempt to slam both knees right into the girl.

So Lucky wants to use the feet, huh? Well, Yuri will gladly let him do that. But she's not about to stand there and let him kick her hard. Instead, Yuri decides to use all of her focused mind power and her inner power to deliver a swift strike of her own. Yuri glows for a moment, and then rushes at Lucky, attempting to deliver a powerful version of her uppercut punch.
Unfortunately, it doesn't fully work for her. She gets hit just as she connects with her punch, meaning she gets knocked down, but she also lands a strike against Lucky. Down on the floor, Yuri's eyes barely are open, one of which looks like it might be close to getting swollen shut. The Kyokugen girl is having a rough time just getting one arm into a push-up position to push herself up... But she is trying!
It isn't a pretty impact for either fighter. They both clash with Lucky hitting with his strike, but also taking a rather ugly punch to the jaw that knocks him back and away from Yuri. For a moment both fighters are on the ground and the official almost looks ready to blow the whistle and call it a double countout. Both begin to move though before that can happen, but neither are really quick to get up. Lucky is feeling pretty drained himself. That girl packs quite a punch when she does manage to get a hit in.
He takes a few moments to get his footing again and he staggers forward towards Yuri. "Pretty good kid. I think the fans are going to go home happy for sure." he says with a bit of a weak smile and he at least gives the girl a few moments to stand up as well before he steps forward and gives a quick jab at Yuri aiming right for her stomach. He just can't seem to bring himself to hit a girl in the face if he can help it. Well, with his fist at least. It didn't seem he had too much of a problem when throwing his basketball.

Yuri raises her guard to absorb the incoming attack from Lucky, and yelps as she realizes even when defending, it still hurts quite a bit. She stumbles backwards and drops to one knee. "Was... that supposed to.... hurt?" Yuri asks weakly. "Well, I'll give ya something that's gonna hurt!" And with that, Yuri attempts to grab Lucky, uppercut him in the chin, and then toss him to the floor.

The pace of the fight certainly seems to be slowing down with both fighters starting to look worse for wear. Lucky's punch didn't even look like it had much force behind it like his earlier ones did. Not only that he can't seem to get the energy to fully get out of the way of Yuri's grasping of his shirt. She feels her hit land solidly in his chin, but then there is a weird shimmer and suddenly she is left gripping nothing and Lucky has disappeared. It is a crazy moment where he managed to have enough speed to move and somehow appear behind the younger fighter. He rather not be slammed on the floor if he can help it. he isn't sure he could get back up. He brings his leg back and gives Yuri a quick kick to the rear after his sudden almost teleport like move. "Have a seat!"
Yuri's kicked in the rear end and goes staggering forwards, and yet she stops suddenly, and turns to face Lucky. But the look in her eyes and the way she's staggering around indicates she's got almost no fight left in her. In her last ditch effort to inflict a little extra pain on Lucky, she brings her arms back very weakly, takes a couple deep breaths, and then throws forth one last blast of energy, before falling flat on her face with what would be a 'SPLAT!' if this were a comedy movie.

He is starting to feel pretty spent after all of this. The kick actually makes him stumble back a bit and actually helps him in this case because he would have been alot closer to that fireball that Yuri releases. Instead there is some distance that allows the large fighter to drop down and fall onto his back which kinda stings, but not as much as a fireball to the face would be. He takes a few deep breathes and he begins to get back to his feet. The official takes a few moment to assess the situation then he blows the whistle. "Winner by KO, Lucky Glauber!"
He gingerly walks forward and he leans over to offer a hand towards the young woman and he smiles. "Hey, good job. Next time lets play a real game of b-ball where we don't have fans to please." he tells her and lets out a small chuckle.
Yuri has regained consciousness long enough to accept the hand up and weakly nod to Lucky, before stumbling over to the sidelines where various medics tend to the girl. "You... fought well..." Yuri mutters, before losing consciousness once again as the medics work harder on her.
