Jinchuu 2 - [R2] Stormwatch! at 11

Description: After an extremely rough and trying first round full of mishaps, failed plans, and extremely clashing personalities, it'd appear that the Court of Night team aren't going to make it very far. Making an escape to an abandoned warehouse moments to escape a vicious storm, the kunoichi pair take a moment to try and co-exist. However it'd seem they weren't aware there's another match coming their way..

[OOC] Yurika will go ahead and start.

[OOC] Ibuki says, "Would you like me to log it?"

[OOC] Yurika says, "I already opened the log but thanks for offering."

[OOC] Ibuki thumbs up!

It's difficult to tell what happened. One moment there was a feeling of tremendous energy, buildings were toppled, and then a massive storm.

A couple of days after that the storm continued to roar, rain, extremely bright lightning, heavy winds you name it; it's a wonder how anyone is managing to get anything done here.

It's been particularly difficult for Yurika as she'd managed to lose track of her young servant Kurenai and the weather is so disruptive that her tracking skill is brought to near uselessness.

In an odd coincidence, however, she is tracked by a couple of the 'tournaments' goons whom offer to direct her to safe shelter until things subside- She's reluctant at first, but then decides she may not be the only one there..

About ten minutes later she's arrived and it's a dank and not very comfortable looking place. A warehouse for goods of -some- sort it's difficult to say, not too big and not too small but most important to Yurika it holds up well against the wind. She's clad in her usual black and mesh attire, but as she looks around she realizes that there aren't many, if -any- people here at all. With a groan she raises a hand to her forehead, "I really should have known better.."

The sudden storm had been a surprise, that was for sure...especially with the lighting that was laying waste to buildings and sweeping things away in the wind. Finding shelter quickly became a pretty big priority.

The tournament so far hadn't gone well for Ibuki, she'd been trying hard but her training wasn't paying off at the moment, but she'd do better in her next fight whatever that might be! Hopefully she'd not get such a lame partner though, maybe that Hotaru girl would be it this time?! Greatly pleased by that thought, Ibuki was quickly reminded of her situation as the lightning blasted a nearby building!

Thankfully things seem to work out as a couple of the 'tournament officials' find her and tell her to follow them to a safe place to ride out the rest of the storm. Feeling relieved and her spirits starting to soar again Ibuki quickly found herself in an old warehouse.

Turning around to thank the officials she's surprised and a tad creeped out that both of them are suddenly gone, she was a ninja after all you had to be freakishly stealthy for her not to hear someone moving around her even with the thunder outside. Deciding to look over her temporary home she quickly finds herself to be not alone, especially since she hears a voice behind a stack of crates and hurries around to see who spoke...and there is Yurika, her 'partner'..."Oh, lucky me I got to spend the rest of the storm in here with Happy the Ninja Girl." She sounds totally sarcastic as she says this before she sighs, "Sorry...so it looks like we're roomates for the moment, think we can get along for now?"

A little surprised to hear Ibuki's voice, Yurika quickly turns her head- And just her head not the rest of her body toward the source. Naturally in record time her siver brows lower, then furrow in obvious annoyance to her 'new' company. Causing trouble with the musician without even doing anything!

After a moment of silence, though, she seems to accept the apology and looks in front of her again, hands on her hips, ".. Sit down, Ibuki." it seems rude at first, and maybe it is, but this'd be the first time she used her partners name. She can't help it, though, there are interesting ways to creep into Yurika's heart and she tries not to let that show within her 'ninja' mode. "And we'll talk. I'm upset with you."

As the other girl finally responds, Ibuki keeps her own features pretty level as the other girl proceeds to order her around and try to let her know she's upset with her. The teenage ninja raises an eyebrow and then suddenly snerks...chuckles...and finally laughs a little bit! It takes a few moments before Ibuki manages to gather herself enought that she can finally respond to the other ninja girl.

Ibuki finally calms down and wipes a single mirthful tear from her eye before she holds up the index finger of one hand before her eyes snap to meet Yurika's, "First thing you're gonna learn about me partner! I don't listen to anyone's orders if they aren't from my village!" Then she kicks a stack of two crates knocking the top on down to form two 'chairs' that are pretty close together as she sits with a wink, "Though sitting is better for a talk..." She pauses again before shaking her head, "So, what'd I do to upset you Miss Serious?" She even says the Miss Serious in a very stuffy but good natured imitation of Yurika's.

[OOC] Ibuki says, "Yurika's voice! Blah! Now I'm leaving out entire words. T_T"

[OOC] Yurika snickers, "It's fine, I'll try to remember to edit it later- Or better yet just repose it and I'll delete the old one."

[OOC] Ibuki grins, "There we go."

Yurika looks to Ibuki out the corner of her eyes, which she then closes, raising a hand to her forehead with a patient sigh. However it seems she's more patient when there isn't a battle about to start so just waits for Ibuki to regain her composure.

Her eyes look to the second crate, but she doesn't budge.

"You answered your own question with your previous statement, you -need- to be listening to me. I called for your help twice and you did not provide it to me." Yurika adds, her eyes narrowing again, "How in your right mind, exactly, do you justify calling me 'partner'? Or are you doing it just to piss me off."

Perhaps having expected Yurika to not take the offered seat, Ibuki takes full advantage and props her feet up on the other crate and she leans back again another stack of crates. It seems Ibuki is making herself at home, she smirks underneath her mask as Yurika airs her problems.

A unconcerned wave of on of her hands is the brown clad ninja girls initial reply.

"You didn't exactly go out of your way to help me when I got double teamed at the first of the match, or anytime I got knocked off either." She tilts her head, "Though you took advantage of my situation to strike at Hotaru first!" She shrugs, "So I believe that puts me ahead on the helping my partner than it does you."

Ibuki looks straight at Yurika in regard to the second question, "I fought my opponent with everything I had, she didn't attack you once...at least until I got knocked out I don't know about that." She looks thoughtful for a moment, "But to more properly answer you, I've considered you my 'partner' this entire time despite not liking you all that much, have you done the same for me? I'm not a chess piece to be moved by your plans against your opponents after all."

[OOC] Ibuki says, "...it's going to be one of those nights...."

[OOC] Ibuki says, "I don't know about after that*"

[OOC] Yurika nods, "You can re-pose it." ^^;

[OOC] Ibuki hugs, "Sorry." T_T

[OOC] Ibuki resolves not to screw up for the rest of the night!

There's a moment's pause, and then a small smile seems to form behind Yurika's mask, at least the material draws upward a bit at first. "Perhaps my memory is faulty, but you seemed determined to prove that you weren't an ameteur, why would I get in the way of that exactly? Or is it that you -did- call out for my help after all? Please correct me if I'm wrong." at which point her smile fades.

"You are correct, Kurenai did not attack me once. If your argument is that Hotaru's partner was an ameteur that's a pointless point. Stay on the subject." Yurika, of course, is bluffing. Bluffing what, exactly, may be difficult for Ibuki to trace. Yurika is simply that good with talking.

"Moving chess pieces is what I do to win. If winning isn't important to you then tell me. Not everyone is here to goof around like you are."

Ibuki glares at Yurika solidly for a moment but instantly she gets back into a good mood, "True true! I did say that didn't I?" She reclines back further and lets out a rather impressive yawn as she languidly regards Yurika as she continues trying to rip her argument apart.

"Oh she wasn't an amateur at all, she was lucky though." Ibuki seems to be a solid bastion of confidence today though she doesn't quite pick up what Yurika's not being one hundred percent open about in that statement so she chooses to just let it go for the moment as it's probably not relevant.

Nodding once at Yurika, she lets out another yawn, "Well as you pointed out I'm an amateur in your opinion, I do remember you making that statement don't I?" She grins under her mask, "I fully intend to win this thing! Just because you are sooo boring and predictable about how you act as a ninja doesn't mean I have to be, quit making assumptions it makes you look well not very cool." She holds up that index finger again, "One more thing, I never said you were the leader so quit acting like you're in charge Partner."

[OOC] Ibuki hugs, "I...I think I actually got through that one without a flub!"

[OOC] Yurika laughs! @@;

[OOC] Yurika says, "Hurray!"

[OOC] Ibuki tickles you in celebration!

[OOC] Yurika shoulderthrows! @@;

[OOC] Ibuki uses her feet to grab onto your back!

Yurika leans back against one of the crate stacks, not breaking eye-contact with Ibuki if she can help it, but she does study some of the shifts of expression. Her arms cross casually, obviously picking up on the acting yawns. "Yes, I recall pointing that out. But understand that if I came to your aid every moment -I- thought you were in trouble, I'd be the one knocked unconscious instead of you;" apparently she thinks little of Ibuki's skill. "Obviously it was better for my health to wait until you asked for help."

Of course that is what she thought in the past; she doesn't deny Ibuki's skill, Ibuki held up against Kurenai much better than the musician expected. She would never admit that though, even knowing that Ibuki may get angry unless she did.

"Yes, Ibuki, because I am so concerned about wanting to look cool," she replies dryly. "My assumptions aren't without basis. I'm not going to go into analysis lest I can barraged by your fake yawning again so let me skip that and ask you a question," her eyes narrow a touch, "Do you promise us victory if I recognize you as leader?"

Ibuki half lids her eyes making it somewhat more difficult to follow where she's looking while Yurika talks, it's becoming quite clear that the other ninja seems to think almost painfully highly of herself and is way way too into the stereotypical way of ninja thinking. Ibuki opens her eyes slightly at Yurika, "So, in otherwords I'm expendable if it helps you out and I should listen to what you say?" The way she says that practically screams out with restrained laughter, "You still aren't getting what I've been saying have you? You really aren't that observant are you?"

Remaining calm and upbeat is one of Ibuki's strengths, though Yurika is trying her patience quite a bit with her stick in the mud 'proper' ninja attitude and desire to command and order others around but she keeps up the cheerfulness if only to make the stay through the storm less annoying than if the other girl neatly puts people into their boxes.

"You might have more fun and fight better if you were." Ibuki replies earnestly, "I did say you were boring, it wasn't particularly hard to fake those yawns." Again absolute earnesty as she replies to Yurika, "I can't promise it more than you can, and I'd not want to be the leader especially since this is a partnership." The brown clad ninja gives the other girl a final chance to get the point before she has to come out and say it.

Yurika raises a brow slowly. And she doesn't answer simply because she knows that if she confirms Ibuki will laugh, prompting Yurika to turn around and sit in the opposite end of the warehouse. Ibuki's lidded eyes is a good move to hide where she's looking because Yurika is paying very close attention to her partners eyes, "Hmn, I see."

"You aren't completely unlikable, Ibuki. But they say partnership is about trust. I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that we're lacking in that department. I decided then it would be easier to create a leader." Yurika is quiet for a moment, and then she walks over and takes a seat, "I wasn't oblivious to your point about being a partnership, but I was hoping you'd see more to my point than it being 'boring' or 'bossy'. I see what you're trying to say. I also think it's foolishly optimistic and highly inefficient with a great probability of us dying." she doesn't comment about promising victory. But chances are that Ibuki was right on that point. ".. I suppose at this point I am ranting to deaf ears. I'll.. Try it your way." and she offers her hand.

[OOC] Yurika says, "And my relief arrived an hour early."

[OOC] Ibuki says, "Heading home?"

[OOC] Ibuki says, "I'll can wait 30 minutes for you to get home if you'd like. :)"

[OOC] Ibuki says, "I promise I won't make an insanely long pose or anything."

[OOC] Yurika laughs! "Ok, then I'll see you in a bit!"

[OOC] Yurika ninja vanish

Yurika has disconnected.

Yurika has connected.

[OOC] Ibuki says, "Welcome back!"

[OOC] Yurika says, "Thank you. ^^"

Ibuki lids her eyes again as she sits there quietly after finishing what she has to say the silence isn't long nor particularly deep, the teenage girl momentarily wonders how in the world she winds up in these situations all she really wants is a straight up fight and a quick conclusion to this mission so she can get back to worrying about boys and clothes again! Unlike Yurika, Ibuki is relying on her sense of hearing at the moment listening very keenly to what Yurika is saying.

"I'm the most likable person you're likely to encounter!" She grins underneath her mask as she again listens to what Yurika has to say she shakes her head a couple times when she disagrees with Yurika but once it seems the other ninja has come around if reluctantly, Ibuki instantly sits up properly facing her partner and takes the offered hand in hers as she shakes it, "Not entirely deaf I get your point...it's just not as good of one as you think, cause just by doing this I trust you a lot more than I did a few seconds ago." She scratches at her mask looking embarrassed, "Sometimes you have to yield to truly be strong...I think that's what one of my sensei's would say now..." She smiles, "Then again he also says sometimes you have to be inflexible to truly bend. Confusing right?"

GIving a light squeeze with the handshake, Yurika doesn't seem to be sharing smiles, but her eyes become a bit more expressive, not quite as dark as they were before if that could be seen in the warehouse that's lit mostly be lightning's light. "Is that so," Yurika replies to the first comment, "Well, I suppose there must be some truth there if I put your hips into the equation." unfortunatly even Ibuki's ears may be unable to tell if that was a joke or not, but it may not make it any less awkward to respond to.

"Hmph, if that is all it takes, then perhaps I should have actually made an effort to visit you before our match. I apologize for that lack of effort." Yurika then says. Drawing her hand back she crosses her arms again, and finally breaks eye contact with Ibuki to look ahead. "I'm the last female of my clan. It'd be impossible for you to make me think the way I've survived this long is wrong in any way. But I'm willing to believe we may both be right for now." she looks to Ibuki from the corners of her eyes again, "My first teacher never said anything like that. But it makes sense if you don't think too hard about it."

As her hand is squeezed, Ibuki squeezes Yurika's hand back just lightly not sure if it meant anything at all other than Yurika showing her hand strength? Blinking once to clear her thoughts Ibuki notes the change in the other girl's eyes and smirking under her mask, "Yep definitely!" Then at Yurika's next comment Ibuki is taken by surprise and if she weren't hiding part of her face her blush would be obvious but she's not going to let Yurika know that so firmly plants one foot to pull off a pose that firmly shows off her hip on that side, "I didn't know you liked that sort of thing Partner, I'm not going to have to worry about you feeling me up in my sleep am I?" Her voice heavy with come hither before she winks at Yurika and bursts out laughing, "You're a little odd sometimes ya know that?"

Ibuki lets the last of her chuckling die off before responding, "It's not as easy as you think, I just appreciated the gesture don't make me rethink it too much." Again another wink as she plops back down on her crate as Yurika pulls her hand back. She sits quietly as Yurika tells a bit about her situation to Ibuki, well her possible situation the teen notes, "Not to be mean or cheapen your life, but if I'd been in your place...I'd have just been a normal girl and forgotten about the ninja lifestyle." She shrugs, "But I'm a little odd too." Admiting this she taps her chin thoughtfully at Yurika's final statement, "I don't know it can have some pretty deep meaning if you really really think about it, then again I think that's the point of sayings like that you find your own personal meaning for them."

Not the reaction Yurika exactly expected, she turns to look at Ibuki as if she had grown a second head, silver brow quirking high, "..." It would seem for a moment she's stunned into speechlessness, but eventually decides what to say, "No, you won't. And yes, so I've been told." she turns her gaze away again though, quite blatantly paying no mind to the laughter at this point. Sigh. When was the last time she got to laugh like that?

"Fine, it's better not to look a gift horse in the mouth anyway, I suppose. And I don't think your words are mean, just uninformed. To be fair, I haven't told you anything else about me, but it's better this way." as for Ibuki being odd, she doesn't comment on that, instead seeming to recall that she may have heard that sentance before. Her normal reply would be that she loves odd people. But she wouldn't say that in this guise. ".. I don't question the quote's depth.

[OOC] Yurika'll go ahead and end it here; this'd likely be a good time for Hayato to show up.

[OOC] Ibuki nods!

[OOC] Ibuki says, "Let me read though!"

[OOC] Yurika ok!

[OOC] Ibuki nods, "That's good for now!"

[OOC] Ibuki says, "Weren't expecting Ibuki's response to Yurika's hip comment were you?"
