SNF 2008.12 - The Sassmastery Billy v. Alan, ChaeLim and Daniel

Description: This weeks SNF Main event features the abrasively cocky Billy Kane, against the smartass Alan R.B, the witty (though exceedingly hard to understand at times) Daniel, and the sweetheart of JUSTICE Chae Lim! Can the three extremely differing personalities team up and defeat the former King of Fighters? Can Daniel and Alan REALLY hope to succeed at turning Chae Lim into a sarcastic and quick-witted jerk? Will Billy destroy them all? The answer is... (Winner: Billy)

The Saturday Night Fights were THE blockbuster events of the entire world street fighting scene. Howard Enterprises' aggressive marketing played some part in this, but there was always the subtle appeal of people smashing each other over the head with a wide variety of techniques. Lets face it: Fighting is really awesome to watch.

The problem was making fighting MORE awesome. The minor fights were great for the hardcore fans. After all, they were usually the eccentric, niche fights. The main events were always the hardest. They needed to be over the top, but at the same time modest. Brilliant, but not too clever. Finally, they needed headliners, all the bells and whistles to make it truly a professional effort.

Enter the Howard Arena.

Upon the solid stone slab were where the four fighters of tonight's event would arrive. Surrounding them was a full house, a grandouse combination of three major factions. The first were the generic stadium fillers. The fans of brawling that sought to head to the major fighting events, no matter what was on the mariquee. After them were the fans of the true fighting master here, Billy Kane. Wide banners of the Union Jack were held by bandana-clad audience members, all roaring in a chant, calling for blood. But to counter their cheers were the giant flags of South Korea, held by the fans of the other headliner. Chae Lim, the student of Kim Kaphwan, was one of the few major representatives of Korea in the fighting scene right now, and had been giving a great showing in the other SNFs. A smaller, but louder faction, was jeering forward on behalf of the true king of douchebaggery, Alan R. B. Truly an idol to assholes the same way Korea was for Chae Lim, his small band of loyal fans were simply unleashing a steady, strong Brooklyn cheer, trying hard to down the loud fans.

"Just the cheese, droogies, just the cheese."

Daniel Jack was lurking in the 'challenger' entrance, a lowered passageway leading towards the large stone fighting arena surrounded by thousands upon thousands of eager fans. Dressed in the traditional gi of Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu, he was guzzling down the contents of a small silver flask. He was keeping out of sight, both in respect of the much more popular Billy Kane, and out of absolute stage fright. He was running through his mind what he needed to do. Represent the way of Todoh, and teach some popular fighter how to insult with another guy. Unlike both, he lacked the fanbase that his peers maintained. Why would he? He was a virtual no-name.

The cheap whiskey burned as it flowed down his throat. Finally, he pulls back from the flask, screwing the lid tight on. Liquid courage was returning to him, along with a fresh new wave of confidence. He took a deep breath in, and a deep breath out. He just needed to be himself. That's all he had to do. That's all he needed to do. Leaning against the wall of cooridor, he waited for his teammates to show up. Just follow their lead, and be yourself. That's all.

Alan R. B.'s sassing section puts up a solid wall of non-stop nincompoopery. Every man, woman, and /really/ poorly-raised child within has been inspired by the master, and spares nobody, not even themselves.

"HEY, LOOK AT THOSE LIMEY BASTARDS OVER THERE"
"SMOKING'S FOR MEN, NO WONDER THAT LITTLE BITCH CAN'T HANDLE IT"
"HOW ABOUT THE TIGHT ASS ON THAT CHICK, EH?"
"USA! USA!"
"HEY, WATCH WHERE YER SHOVIN', BLONDIE!"
"WHERE'S THAT NEW GUY?"
"HEY BRING THOSE FRANKS OVER HERE!"
"WATCH THOSE HANDS, BLONDIE, I AIN'T KIDDING!"
"THIS AIN'T GONNA BE MUCH OF A FIGHT, THAT GUY'S JUST GOT A STICK!"

The sound of a slap echoes through the arena, and the jerks all turn to stare. A rather pretty girl who - yes! - is from Jersey has laid a righteous backhand across the face of someone who was a little too free in the bustle of the crowd. But instead of jeers and insults, the portion of the crowd erupts in fervor. For there, a red mark shining on his cheek, an insouciant grin on his face, and hands spread wide as if to say, 'What did you expect?' is Alan R. B. himself.

The blonde boxer trades insults with his people as he climbs down through the stands, violating a bit more personal space as he goes, springing down onto the arena floor, dropping a not insignificant number of feet to land in a roll. He relaxes, letting his electric chi start crackling over his skin, then, snapping out a few jabs at the air, revelling in the crowd. He spots Daniel trying to shrink into the corridor, and beckons him in. "C'mon, man, stop cowering over there in the shade! Can't make money cringing in a corner!"

Unlike those she is supposed to team with this evening, the Korean girl is very much less about the 'cynical smartass wit', and more about JUSTICE! So, this event is going to be... interesting. Especially since it's not been all that long since she and May Lee went toe to toe with Billy. While the bruises and bones have healed, it would seem that someone at Howard Enterprises' wants to see what she learned from that particular challenge.

Well, maybe she can show them some of that fighting spirit (while fighting the lessons on becoming a smartass, since she's quite certain that is something Master Kim would NOT like), and actually survive this particular challenge.

Though it feels a bit odd to not have May Lee at her side in this instance, she's positive the other two that have been grouped with her are going to be up for the challenge as well. At least... she hopes they are!

Stepping up to the stone slab, she waves a gloved hand toward her fans. She's not the type to go wild for cheers or rely on the crowd to get her into the proper mindset, but she's the type that loves to acknowledge that they're here, and they're here to see her do her best just like Master Kim would want her to do!

A slight turn of her head, and she peers at the two men. Hooboy. This is going to be bad, but so long as they can fight she won't cringe too much.

"Good evening," she offers, a cheerful smile touching her lips. "Are you both ready for this challenge?"

There's a rather large reaction from Billy when he finally saunters into the main area. His own section, indeed the largest specific fanbase by a significant margin, goes nuts. Cheering and thrusting arms to the heavens, waving imitation bo staffs as women beg him to wash their clothes. A good few have the 'No Smoking' sign he tends to always have emblazoned in sanctioned fighting events. His stance is strong, tall, and an arrogance that can only come with a lifetime of complacent experience. One half-glove is pulled taut, the fingers flexed into a fist. The long trail of his bandana knot swirls behind just so. A careful performance of nuances to make him appear significantly more extreme, when really all he's done is come to a stop near the other three.
"Hey hey hey!" Even the generic fightmongers know his catchphrase, something only the greatest are allowed to have!! In a flourish he yanks out his collapsed bo staff from his denim vest, whirling it around so the precise moment it's assembled is difficult to tell. But a rush of air billows over the trio opposite, sliding into a casual stance. No shirt, old jeans, boots, England color headwear. Each of the three is given a hard look in turn, if only lasting a moment.
"Well, I've utterly trashed all of you except... that guy." His finger raises and points directly at Daniel, singling him out in particular. "These two alone won't make me break a sweat, although I actually like the girl," An aside to Chae Lim. Alan got beaten silly in an alley for blowing smoke in his face, which really says enough about that. "So."
He beckons, lips pulling into a brazen smirk. "Think you'll make a difference?" The proverbial bell rings, and the match begins in an almost chaotic fashion. They didn't even announce the fighters formally! Which is boring, so Billy approves.

Daniel Jack watches his fellow teammates with a grim look of... impatience. Chae Lim was the cutie, and not in the generic sexist way. She was sweet natured, the detective picked up quickly. This was good and bad, he thought, shoving off the wall. After all, the goal was to teach her how to be caustic. Daniel was good at snark, but not downright caustic. Fortunately, the raunchy roar and crackle of thunder highlighted the real wise cracker of the set.

"I'm real fine, miss, real fine. The question is whether you're digging it, Bright Eyes." Daniel whipped out quickly, moving on the top side to a polite wave of jeers and catcalls. Yeaaaaah. The Alan crowd. Staring straight at Chae Lim, he crosses his arms, assuming the honorable position of Ryuhaku Todoh. "You're gentle, you're soft, and that's what's the broken doll, doll." As Billy works his way on, he cuts his stare down short. Alan was the douche, Chae Lim was the softy, and Daniel... Daniel didn't really read anything outrageous. Except that rush of air and speed. The singling out, however, seems be the one that gets the reaction.

Tilting his head over to Alan, Daniel spits off a short command. "Hey. Gorgeous George. Lets brief bright eyes here on the snark-off." Moving his body down into the aikido defensive position, the black man evens himself out, putting one hand behind the other. He faces Billy, face turning frigid with an intense cold. "Rule number one about insults, Bright Eyes? Case your target. Pick out the weird noodles that bring out the soft parts, understand? Like that do-rag. What does the do-rag ring to you, Bright Eyes?"

"Come on, sugar, use your imagination." Daniel starts off, suddenly rushing forward with a controlled quartet of strikes. Aiming a palm strike for Billy's naked chest, he launches a punch forward. "Also consider his little sugar dates..." Daniel deadpans, unleashing another palm strike with his left hand. "Twee white belly sand clam..." The detective snapped his right hand over again, taking a step forward as he dropped a knife-hand strike for the Brit's neck. "And that real beau jacket set his momma dug out..." With which the Todoh student swung a leg around, attempting a straight kick forward at the abdomen of the Brit. "... And those classy boots, Gorgeous, take over with the details, real swell now alright?"

"Now, I /seem/ to recall," begins Alan, dipping his hands to his belt, threading on his iron rings, and pulling his fists up in a lazy stance. "When we first met, I nearly beat your ass, and I didn't even know what I was doing yet! Am I lucky, or am I just amazing?" Slowly, /tauntingly,/ he runs his left hand through his slicked-back hair, producing a black-and-gold cigarette, which he places on his lips and lights with a fingersnap.

He leans toward Chae Lim, and offers a wink. "The real question is, are you ready for drinks after this?"

Then, he's moving, crazy fast, leaving little flickers of electricity in the air behind him. "Of course, babe, if you know your boy's got some quirks, you can really get in there and drive him deep. Now, I don't know why, but this guy here has a little problem with smoking." Alan punctuates 'little' with a roll of his eyes, and dips one hand into the pocket of his fine vest, producing a pack of Marlboros. He personally smokes only Nat Sherman Black and Golds, but he made sure to stock up on something cheap special for this fight. One by one, he pulls cigarettes from the pack, flicking them at Billy's face, bobbing and weaving left and right to fire around Daniel's attacks. The cigarettes don't really hurt, even as he throws them pretty hard. He walks his shots over to Billy's mouth - he's trying to throw one right in!

Eventually, he flings the pack, which travels with momentum it shouldn't have. Alan filled the bottom with heavy BBs! What a dick! "Light on up, man! You'll love it!"

Chae Lim only partially understands what the relative newcomer is talking about. Her head tilts to the side, and she furrows her brow deeply as her lip is drawn between her teeth. At least she can respond to what she DOES understand, right?

Right.

"Digging what? The challenge? I live for the challenge, though I do warn that Mister Kane is quite the fighter, so this challenge will be difficult." The difficulty doesn't seem to bother her at all. She's survived through a match with Billy before, and worst case scenario she winds up injured again. "Insults? Oh, I don't think I could really go about slinging those. Master Kim wouldn't like it and..." Her head tilts to the other side, and she grins. "Red and white happen to be two of my favorite colors. It does stand out a bit much against the rest of his outfit, but I think that's the point of it." Even while fighting, she's got the discerning eye of a fashionista.

Doe brown eyes peer at Alan and she shakes her head. "As nice as the offer is, I'm really not interested." There's nothing about the way she says it that makes it sound snobbish or better-than. It's just sweetly to the point. "And that really isn't very nice," she points out.

Looks like her two teammates are going to have their work cut out for them.

"I'd apologize for their behavior," she says to Billy, "but it would seem this is the new hoop Howard Enterprises wishes us to jump through this week."

With a sweet smile, she roundhouse kicks herself so that she's behind the man, her back to him. As her feet move along the stone, a raw, wind-like energy begins to sheathe her right foot. This is then snapped toward him with another roundhouse kick.

After considering matters a bit, Billy finds that he likes Daniel. He's got a kind of confident spunk to him, but in a somewhat harmless sense. And doesn't seem to be a complete empty headed fool wearing those drunk vision glasses. He simply smirks at the insults given, seeming to hardly react when they are offered. "You realize I work for Howard Enterprises..." Billy mumbles under his breath. Eyes seem half lidded as he observes the approaching detective. He moved in tune with the other man, swishing sideways from the knifeblow. Sauntering away from the palm strike. Each blow misses scarcely, an economy of motion that only the utterly sure can manage in the face of such attacks. But the smile fades, when he notices Alan just sparked a cigarette. Eyes widen, but in outright rage. "You put that fucking thing OUT!!" he demands, pointing a finger. Now, he chose a bad time to point his finger. Because he gets kicked right in the side of the head at that moment. Staggering, his guard is shattered, the second cracking even more resoundingly then she might of hoped to accomplish. His head reels, but the cause of his duress still seems to be Alan. Fingers clench his bo staff in a deathgrip, advancing towards him and beginning to spiral it in a furious manner. "Gonna fucking bury you alive!!" But--He's been attacked by his weakness! The pack of cigarettes causes him to wince slightly. A step is missed. It whacks him between the eyes, grimacing. Oh, he still unleashes a hurricane of force, but Alan can dodge it now without much trouble, unless he's as inept as Jiro. Slithering sideways, he faces the trio. Obviously, whatever joke there was is now very over. "He crossed a line." is growled towards Chae Lim and Daniel, spitting upon the ground. "You hit me again, and I'll fucking cripple you, also."

Daniel Jack lets his strikes furiously whiff with the skills that only the Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu arts could provide. His work seems to be countered with equal skill, and it looks as though he was prepared for a regular smack back. However, both Chae Lim and Alan come flying in with full colors, smashing the flanks of the British baton beater. Daniel Jack seems to hold back, contemplating his options... but crosses his arms, and shakes his head.

"Just a sheep's waggle, Granny." Daniel Jack snapped at Billy, turning towards Chae Lim. "I was chock worried about this. When they give someone to Daniel Jack, it is a tough cookie to bite down into. And Bright Eyes, you are that solid oreo." The man sticks a single finger at Chae Lim, eyes burning with a stony fire, face contorting with a great intensity. "You WILL learn to insult, you cooked up dame, and there is only one way to get it in."

"THE WAY... OF TODOH."

Daniel Jack pops his pants open, and fishes out a small pamphlet. He holds it up for Chae Lim to see, and stares coldly. "Gorgeous, give Granny cancer while I fix Bright Eyes, Dig it?" He states bitterly, motioning the pamphlet towards Chae Lim. Suddenly, he shifts his tone, as if he was reciting something drilled into him.

"This is the Official Kasumi Todoh Manual of Personal Insults. As the first and foremost way to win a fight is to not fight, strong insults are a central pillar of combat effectiveness." Daniel Jack turned towards the camera, showing the paper in full view. "Kasumi Todoh, a master at a wide range of Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu techniques, understands the value of insults, and assists in provide a broad range of invaluable Todoh-tastic insults, all free as part of the Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu curriculum. Here, Bright Eyes." Daniel Jack stated, facing back away from the camera and towards Chae Lim. "Take it. Read it. Use them."

"If you don't..." Daniel tossed the pamphlet in the air towards Chae Lim, fist glowing with a dull orange light. His toned dropped back down to a lower, growling seeth, bitterly biting back the insult that may be given. "... Then you have made sass the WAY OF TODOH!" Daniel Jack roared, raising his right hand up high. "AND THAT! Can only be answered with..." The detective ripped his one hand downwards towards Billy's flank, erupting a small wave of bright orange energy.

"KASANE ATE!"

Daniel TOTALLY earned himself a free week's worth of lesson right there.

Even if it was straight-on, Alan's speed and reflexes give him a good chance to dodge almost anything. Give him something all off-center like that? Alan snorts derisively as he jukes to the side, feet appearing to just slide as he slips away. "Awww, did I touch baby's little nerve? Did maybe baby's mommy die of cancer? Baby's mommy wasn't tough enough to handle the puff-puff?"

Even the Alan Crowd winces at that one. You are rocking some rough chuckles, Alan R. B.

The boxer decides to keep his distance this time, deciding that the best way to get on Billy's nerves would be to /not/ put himself in range. He dances back a few steps, eyeing Chae Lim instead of Billy - probably a mistake. "Babe, you maybe might want to step out of that Leave it to Beaver world you've gotten yourself all wrapped up in. Get yourself out in the world, a little bit of the rough-and-tumble. Politeness just gets ya hurt!"

Abruptly, Alan stops, dropping his guard and relaxing his body totally. Electricity starts to swirl up from beneath him, chi crackling along his /entire/ body, not just his exposed skin. "Then again, at least you ain't this guy." He hooks his thumb toward his other partner, Daniel. "Did you lose a bet or something?"

COMBATSYS: Alan gathers his will.

"I have no doubt that you will, Mister Kane, but you really shouldn't take your ire out on us, we're not the ones who've upset you like this." Chae Lim does have a slight apologetic look to her as she says this. She put all the power of JUSTICE behind that kick, so she's aware that it likely hurt a whole lot more than if it was just your regular, every day type justice that was given.

"Oreo? Are you making fun of my hair?" Peering at the detective, the TKD artist just furrows her brow again. "I don't mean any offence, and I'm sure that both Miss Todoh and her father are happy for the free advertising, but I already have a sabumnim -- Master Kim Kaphwan." Smiling ever-so-prettily at the detective, she catches the pamphlet. This she tucks into the belt at her waist as she contemplates the held back insult. Thinking to be nice, she adds, "I will read it when the fight is over. I must concentrate on this challenge and that will be most difficult to do if I'm trying to scan through a manual."

Hearing Alan's cruel words, the Korean girl does her utmost to reign in the anger that has begun to build. Even Choi would not go so far as THAT to insult a foe (though he did come awfully close with his insinuations about Master Kim). Knowing that she's supposed to be concentrating on the challenging fight against Billy, she can't help but feel that Alan has crossed a line with that comment about the man's mother. Chae Lim may not know all the details of Billy's life, but she does know that what was said was just WRONG on many levels.

"Knock it off, Alan. There was no need to go that far." To accentuate this chastisement, she quickly drops into stance to the side of Billy, then fires off three snappy roundhouse kicks, aimed for Alan's shin, abdomen and chest.

Well, Daniel seems to deign to attack Billy despite his warning. His gaze snaps sidelong just a moment before the lash of energy ripples through the air, and the lunge backwards is close. Enough that it nearly brushed his flapping denim jacket. Feet slither about, gathering and stabilizing the former King of Fighter in a second. For a long moment he just glares at the Todoh-Ryuu pracitioner, but Alan's words still lull him like a beautiful siren. "Well, well, well. You've got a lot of balls to talk to someone like me in that way. Don't be regretting it." He shrugs within his somewhat voluminous coat, slipping his hold of the bo staff to grasp it at the very base. Rushing forward, Chae Lim's own intervention is mostly ignored. She'd hopefully have the clarity of mind to step away from the rampaging British, who leads one skidding foot, rearing back at the torso. His entire body goes tense, before he swings with every ounce of force he can towards the momentarily immobile Alan, the air resistance bending back his weapon nearly to a U. With the intent of slamming it upon his head, and trying to send him flying for a home run! Brute force over finesse, in this instance...

Daniel Jack's Kasane Ate fails to make contact, not even ruining a jacket. However, Alan's insult rolls off his ears. The detective meets Billy's glare, and then nods furiously. "Get it, Granny." Suddenly, Chae Lim becomes the primary focus of the Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu student. And not in the way Alan was heading for.

"Hey! HEY!!!" The detective spits, stomping after the Tae Kwon Do fighter with an frustrated burn. She was doing two things wrong in the eyes of Daniel Jack. The first was the most obvious: She was insulting the exception WAY OF TODOH. The offense was too monumental for the detective, and he simply exploding with the rage that Ryuhaku Todoh filled him with. But he might have kept it under control if she wasn't turning on one of her teachers. But there she was, jamming Alan right in the back. What they all needed was some good old fashioned DISCIPLINE.

AS RYUHAKU TODOH WOULD DEMAND!

"Bright Eyes, what the gimp daddy are you shooting, you damn dame!" Daniel Jack roared, pointing a single finger at her. "I mean, that's nothing raunchy! I mean, it is not like he made the jazz about someone like, well, like, if he had a sister and mentioned how salty her kisses were!" The detective states forcibly, hands snapping out to catch Chae Lim from the scruff of her gi. With a single, solid motion, if he made contact, he would flip her down to the ground with a forceful comment to boot. "Just grow up, Bright Eyes, and keep your head in the game!"

"Please," begins Alan, remaining loose limbed, his hands coming up to direct each of Chae Lim's kicks away, one, two, and then the third one, as is customary, is caught. The backs of his hands throb from the impact, but he's felt a lot worse. The boxer steps close, still holding Chae Lim's leg up, and flashes her a smile, blowing a small cloud of smoke through his nostrils. It's a shame, he'd look good if it weren't for all that ASSHOLE hovering around him. "There's no such thing as... too far."

But, well, now he's pissed Billy off, just as he expected. The smile drips down into a smirk, and the *R* agent just shoves the leg aside, public lewd behavior brought to an abrupt end. He's infuriated the man, he can tell, and he takes a step back... crouching, and beckoning Billy on with both hands. "Hah! I'm /way/ past regret! Did I hit a nerve, momma's boy?" The oncoming stick reminds him, briefly, of the time Akuma kicked him in the ankle and knocked him into a helicopter.

Then, instincts take hold, and once again, Alan shows just how much better he could be if he'd only apply himself a bit more. His hands come up, wrists crossed, and he takes the hit. It's absolutely punishing force, but he's primed and ready for it. His feet leave the ground, and his hands lock onto the staff, Alan twisting his body up to swing over the staff, lock around it, and /sit/ on it, one heavy boot pinning it to the ground. Chi comes swirling up his right hand as he stands back up to scrape Billy's weapon along the ground, trying to twist him off balance as he snaps his hand up. "Strike!" He snaps his fingers, cracking a bolt of lightning at Billy - and repeats the motion! "Twice!" Oh no TWO BOLTS OF LIGHTNING!

Oh, chaos, how those that set these matches up enjoy thee.

Chae Lim, on the other hand, abhors chaos in these situations. The TKD girl just blinks at Daniel. "To each their own. You follow one teacher, I follow another. I never insinuated that one was better than the other, I merely said I would read your documentation later." A frown graces her lips when his hands snap out toward her. Dropping to the side, she rolls along the stone platform deftly avoiding the flip. Kipping back up to her feet, she falls into stance. "What he said may not have been raunchy, but when even his fans are flinching from the words, it is a good indication that they were unjust."

Her hand whips out with a sharp knifehand chop directed at Daniel's neck. "Also, the name is Chae Lim. Not Bright Eyes, not Doll, not babe, or sweetcheeks or any other pet name you can come up with off the top of your head. Such names are meant to be used by those who care for you, not someone you don't know at all."

There is little to no reaction to Alan at this juncture.

Good. Chae Lim and Daniel are now playing, which leaves his full attention able to be devoted on Alan without the risk of being scissorkicked in the back of the head, or some other miscellanious piece of agony that might create the false impression this is an organized Saturday Night Fight. Really, the concept should of been fine! Billy can insult with the best of them! But oh no, he's not going to forgive cigarettes being waved around in his face. And thrown at his face. Both those are patently unacceptable, and causing a rather irrational amount of rancor from the lean master of staffings.
"I'm not really sure what your deal is. You knew I'd kick your ass for waving those around. And you probably know you can't do a goddamn thing about it. You just a masochist? Eh? I guess I'll help you with that in this situation..." Although the manner of blocking his staff causes eyes to widen. It's rather rare for him to be impressed by the talents of lower fighters. He is jaded, after all, but that doesn't mean he can't see his own roots. Alan, fundamentally, isn't too different then Billy was. Some jerk wanting to prove something but not having anything he CAN prove. And more importantly, having a hell of a lot of dormant talent. Too bad he hasn't had a proper hand to sculpt it. Billy will sculpt it... with his baton to Alan's FACE!!
This is a precarious situation. His staff is in a poor position, and chi is swirling through the air. But experience bridges the gap, rather neatly. The weapon breaks into three parts, leaving only the tip pinned with the chain rasping about. Whirling the other two parts, not unlike a nunchuk, heat and flame whirl out, belting away in a vicious buffet first the intial bolt of lightning, and then the second, the violence thrown behind his whipcracks of the bo staff far beyond what is needed to dissipate the rather intense but unrefined energy. Then he /yanks/ hard, to throw Alan off-balance.
And in a split second launches the bo staff at Alan's midsection, gritting his teeth. Trying to slam into him with catastrophic force, and send him hurtling backwards only to be ignited into a ball of fire as he twists and yanks it back to him, to be reassembled with a flourish!!

COMBATSYS: ChaeLim successfully hits Daniel with Jab Punch.

The detective missed the the gi cleanly. When she breaks into a roll, Daniel knew he was in trouble. He wasn't used to nimble fighters, just like when he had to fight against that fearsome student of Dan Hibiki. But he was just so dead set on stopping Chae Lim from turning on Alan, he just decided to roll with it. Against it. Following her, he decides to take whatever she took cleanly. Little did he know... it would be the most offensive strike upon his neck. As it lands, a new wave of emotions overtook him. Daniel Jack bites back the urge to just smash her. SMASH HER HARD. It wouldn't be so bad, but she just used a knife hand strike against his neck. And not just any knife hand strike. An INFERIOR one! Nothing close to the WORLD'S GREATEST HANDCHOP. The detective's entire face contorts into a fiery rage, and finally, he erupts.

"You josh-nabbing, pirate-licking, onion-dribbling, doll-faced, son of a tissue, sheep dog spanking, baby sweetcheeks Bright Eye CHAE LIM!" Daniel Jack roars, winding an arm back. "QUIT. BEING. STUPID! I don't figure where you're snatching all this justice load, but you just jacked BOTH of your teammates! After refusing to game by the whole cod-swapping rules! DAMES! Just damn DAMES!"

Daniel drops his raised hands. No, he wasn't going to shatter her entire skeleton. That was exactly the kind of stuff he was trying to prevent. Instead, Daniel splits his fingers into a V. Bringing them to his eyes, he then points the V right back at Chae Lim. "You don't want to fight right? Fine! Just don't hold us back, CHAE LIM." Hearing the explosion of energy behind him, he snaps around, spreading his weight around. Eyeing the Brit, he grimaces, body cooling down in stature quickly. "Hey! Granny! When did you go Iggy Pop on us, eh scuzzy?!" Was the snark as Daniel charged at Billy. Leaping through the air, he attempts an aerial tackle, knocking him and his guard down to the ground.

There is a method to Alan's madness, a reason he is the way that he is. Something must clearly have happened in Alan's past that gave him that ridiculous attitude, that ability to stand up to anyone, from new fighter to goddamn legendary figure, and just say /absolutely foul/ things. THAT SECRET PAST...

...WILL NOT BE UNRAVELLED IF YOU KEEP HITTING HIM OH CHRIST. "Shit, forgot it's a three-part--" is all Alan manages to get out, before his leg is ripped up into the air, the rest of the cane following soon after. His so-fine clothes start to burn up as he's knocked far out, into the wall ringing the arena, dust launching away from him in a shockwave as he bounces down to the ground. He picks himself back up, pulling off his vest, the remnants of his shirt hanging open for a rare cheesecake shot. His arms are limp at his sides, and his head is tilted backward. The crumbs of his ruined cigarette drop down.

Alan lifts his right hand up now, sweeping through his hair until he finds his other emergency cigarette. Snap. Alan pulls a long drag from it, exhaling smoke into the air around him, then points at Billy, beckoning again. "Kids, settle down. Kane... is that all you can bring to the table?"

Chae Lim stares at the detective for a second. Just a second. Then she doubles herself over in laughter. Can't be helped. Only person she's ever heard speak THAT fast before was some little fan. Truth be told, she really didn't understand the poor little thing all that well either. Righting herself, she brings her gloved hands up to wipe big joyful tears from her eyes.

"Actually, if you want to be technical, the only one I was going to go after was him," she states, jerking her thumb toward Alan. "You attacked me first, and so I retaliated. It's not being stupid, it's self preservation." Grinning in a sickeningly sweet manner, she clears her throat in order to keep from bursting into laughter again. "The only thing holding either of you back is your need to make me as crass and sarcastic as the both of you, and I'm not interested in what you're selling."

The entirety of her attention is then turned on Billy. "I apologize Mister Kane. It seems that my need to make that one shut up has turned this challenge into something of a farce. Shall we proceed?" Upon the word 'proceed', she breaks into a run. Leaping into the air, she twists her body in a gracefully skilled maneuver to deliver a flying back kick at Billy's head.

"HIIIYAH!"

Again, she ignores Alan. If she doesn't ignore him, she's liable to try kicking him around a bit. It DID work for Choi (maybe), so why wouldn't she try it on Alan?

"You've all got horrible teamwork!" Billy offers, not really sure what end is what at this point. They all seem to have taken a potshot at one another and argued for all he knows. Really, when the foundation is about insults, that shouldn't be surprising. Luckily, he has an easy stance in this fight. Beating the crap out of all of them. With that filtering out the scenario, he can focus on matters at hand. Alan got what was coming to him. Really, that's about as heavy a hit as his rage can muster. If he wants to lick his wounds, let him. The fight ain't over, and he's got a lot more pain train to bring to bear. Hitting him with cigarettes... Oh, that's going on his list for quite some time.
"The fuck you saying?" is offered towards Daniel. slamming the end of his staff into the ground and using it to launch himself sideways. Close. Without his weapon, he might of not managed that. Which leaves Chae Lim the sole benefactor of his whirling cane, and he moves his weapon to intercept. When she stops dead in the air, she probably knows what's coming next from that grin. Breaking the staff apart, he unleashes both ends upon her, battering the hapless girl midair before a final vicious strike is launched to send her flying away. Billy circles them all then, slowly spinning his weapon from one hand to the next. "Alright... I think we're back on track..."

Daniel Jack sails through the air, attempting to give the snatch to one Billy Kane. However, his catches nothing but air, dropping hard to the ground. But not too hard. He rolls once, staggering slightly as he perks up. He is almost helpless at this point, but fortunately, Billy decides to rip Chae Lim a new one. This was rotten. Alan R. B, despite the insults and the smack-downs, was holding his own well. But Chae Lim... she was doing nothing but mocking the very essence of this fight. All to the tune of justice and righteousness. She was even apologizing to the man! This was awful. There was nothing she was doing that did nothing but insult the very essence of Todoh, as well as the match itself!

Suddenly, it became all clear to Daniel Jack.

He stands upright, dusting his pants off. "I can't believe it slipped by me... Chae Lim, all this time, you did have the snark down solid! Just different from us!" The detective rolls his shoulders, standing erect. "And you are on the spot, Granny. Gorgeous George and Bright Eyes are biting sock puppets with me, and that isn't smooth. So here is the facts. We are going to unite solid, and all under the banner..."

"OF THE MAGNIFICENT SPIRIT OF TODOH-RYUU KOBOJUTSU!"

Daniel Jack spread his legs apart, bringing his arms around. He spun both of his arms around, before fixing one pointing finger on Alan. "Alan R. B., with his Caustic Style!" He pointed the other finger at the downed Chae Lim, the intensity burning from within. "Chae Lim! Master of the smug self-righteous Prig Style!" Finally, Daniel Jack brought his hand to his chest, clutching both hands together. "And Daniel Jack! Student of the Improvised Style, diggity!" "Together, Team Force Snark! Let us combine our powers of taunting to smite this snail-scalped pussy job!!! Let your ultimate strikes become unleashed." He quickly ripped a single hand behind him, winding up for some massive punch.

"FANTASTIC..."

"...TODOH..."

"PAAAAAAAAAAUNCH!"

Suddenly, Daniel unleashed the palm strike, hopefully amongst the charging duo of fighters that were his partners. He aimed squarely for the center of Billy, attempting to shatter his entire skeleton with his ultimate attack.

Alan R. B. /was/ preparing something. His right hand fell back down after his taunt (COMPOSE = TAUNT YOU KNOW IT TO BE TRUE), relaxing completely, Alan simply letting the electric chi flow through him and build up. But, at this point, he just can't let his teammates slide. Alan points at Daniel. "You... just... you're out of hand. You're riding that gimmick like a supermodel on a rich old guy, and it's only ending up in tears and broken hips. You posture worse than I do, and I think I know a thing or two about posturing. Man, they didn't even talk like that back in, what, the 40s? What the hell are you even trying to be?"

The boxer shakes his head, reaching up to settle his shades properly before taking a step to the side, making sure he has a clear path. "And you, miss saccharine." Alan sneers, crouching low and sprinting across the arena, coming up on Billy. His arms are loose, relaxed, both starting to build up their own spirals of electricity. "Juuust come off it. No fighter is that adorable and precious unless they're just starting, and I've heard your name bounce around a few times. I don't know what kinda thing you're trying to do here, but all that politeness and sweet smiling is just gonna get you ran all over by bigger, meaner dudes. Shit, I don't even want to try to get you in bed any more. You have any idea how hard that is?"

Alan suddenly puts on a burst of speed, snapping his arms up as he closes with Billy. He taps into that absurd speed his complete synchronizing with lightning gives him, and his fists start flying in a series of jabs that spray /everywhere./ Each blow leaves an afterimage, and in no time, it's like Billy is under attack by FIFTY THUNDER FISTS. "Compared to these two goons, I can start to respect your straight-edge routine, Kane!"

It takes only a split second for Chae Lim to realize the error of this particular move. It's not one she's practiced overly much, and while she can make it look elegant and graceful from a distance, there is a distinct look of 'oh dear' as Billy grins. A grinning Billy, she has learned in the past, is far from a good thing. Less than another second passes, and she's assaulted by the by both ends of the 'broken' staff. As her body begins to fall from the air, it's suddenly slammed backward across the stone slab, very nearly to the other end of it.

Once she rolls to a stop, she gives her head a shake and tries to listen to what the detective is babbling about. It's hard to wrap ones head around the film noir stuff -- especially when one has seen approximately one film noir film in her entire life. "What?" Blinking, she rolls herself over and starts to push up to her feet. "No, no. I'm not snarking at all. What on earth are you babbling about? You're giving me a headache." Pause. "And I'm not a self-righteous prig." She waits a beat, then exhales a pained sigh. "And I'm not doing this for whatever teacher you follow. I'm doing this for Master Kim!"

Turning toward Alan, her shoulders lift upward in a shrug. "Believe what you want to, I really don't care. For the record though? You wouldn't have gotten me anywhere. Like I said earlier, not interested."

What she is interested in doing, is getting back to where the other fighters are. One can't fight a battle from across the room unless they're very prolific in energy techniques -- which she's not. Running across the platform, she flies toward Billy, unleashing a simple airborne kick. Afterward, she sends a barrage of roundhouses, spin kicks, thrust kicks and the like, each accentuated by a, "YAH!". To finish everything off, she she snaps a vertical kick at the man.

Well, Billy now has everyone engaged with him again. This turns out to be a dubious honor, as they turn out to be not as useless en-masse as anticipated. Daniel is saying a lot of words, but most of his attention had been diverted to Chae Lim, actually in the midst of doing something dangerous. He catches the airborne kick with a forearm, then deflects the majority of her savage onslaught with a whirlwind of his bo staff. Right in the middle, he gets PUNCHED IN THE SPINE. Arching away from Daniel with a loud curse, he whirls around and swings blindly, likely missing Daniel as much by aggravation as by him being quick to duck. "You son of a..." Oh, here comes Alan. The slither of speed is seen by those hard British eyes! Sliding a foot towards the advancing boxer, he breaks apart his staff and then begins to swing... but bam! He's hit before he can even get started, making him helpless to the rain of blows that follow. He's staggered backwards, and actually collapses! The great Billy Kane has been toppled over! Blood is wiped from the corner of his mouth, much of his outfit singed and his back aching because it has been shattered into a thousand pieces by a Fantastic Todoh Punch. "Okay. Game's over." is reasonably offered. Now, he's going to start BUTCHURING PEOPLE.

Yes, Daniel Jack wasn't exactly being a full on shocker here. Both Alan and Chae Lim were making a mockery of his presence. But when life laughs at you, put your cigarette out right in it's eyeball. The angry black dick was sending the shaft right down hard, and they were unified in their assault. At least for now. And it works. Daniel's palm strike lands hard, as does Alan's. While Chae Lim's is blocked, it doesn't ignore the important value of the mass rush; all of the attacks made contact.
Recoiling back, Daniel asides to Alan, stomping forward after Billy. "I'm living the dream, LIMPY, so the only riding you'll need to haunch is right behind me, CAN you dig it?!" The student of Todoh does take a moment to fix his posture. He was hunching over a lot more than he ought to have been. In fact, he resets his entire stance, shifting into his aikido form. One hand was positioned ahead of the other, moved to an even level as the detective leaned back slightly.

"Now look at that, we actually made Granny here spit poison, how about that!" The detective snaps, steadily stepping towards the blood Billy at a much more controlled pace. "Keep stable, and lets JACK this up regular RAUNCHY. Chae Lim, I'll deal with you prompt on the diddle, smoking!" With that, the detective let loose a steady, vigorous combination foursome of blows. He starts with a single knife hand chop for the neck, followed by an upwards palm strike with the opposite hand. Immediately, he jumps into a elbow jab, and transitions into another elbow jab. "HO! Keep up the pace, scuzzies, keep it UP!"

The danger of Voltaic Barrage is the wild range of the damn thing. He sways from left to right as he goes, spreading the arc of the punches all over the place, and the afterimages confuse the eye, making it hard to find an opening. Billy learns this lesson /right in the face/, Alan springing back after the punches, sparks dripping from his iron rings. He snaps a wink to Chae Lim. "Other side of the fence? I know some fun-loving girls, I could hook you up."

Alan realizes, in a flash of insight, that luring unsuspecting people into the ministrations of Vice and Mature might actually make his life a bit easier. This is something to think about later.

Back in the game. Alan bobs and weaves to the side, confident he has the time to maneuver, and frowns at Daniel, who, well. Yeah. Alan keeps out of the direct melee again, still trying to catch his breath from that big hit earlier, and slips behind the black man, lifting up his right boot and planting it firmly on his back, roughly speeding his progress with a harsh snicker.

Okay, so perhaps she IS being a little snarky. She's still being DANGED sweet about it.

"I'm going to tear you apart one by one. You ready?" Billy growls. This leaves him with the decision to pick the order of chaos. Daniel is a laughably harmless Todoh practitioner. He's last. Alan is the type who will happily throw warm bodies at him, so he should be left for second. Chae Lim. Poor Chae Lim. Daniel slithers in close, but Billy doesn't play around by being fancy. He snaps himself away, each blow coming a good meter from contact. It was absolutely harmless. Potentially emaciating for the poor man, if he's not used to fighting legendary King of Fighters. His weapon is reared back then, and as Chae Lim approaches, he smiles. This time, it's apologetic. "Nothing personal..." Hurling his weapon, it swishes by the girl's head, missing. Billy is now unarmed!! He makes an 'oh shit' face, cowering beneath the approaching kick...
But as impact is made, he snaps back to attention. She hit his forearm. In a violent motion, he unsheathes his bo staff and strikes her within the stomach. Flame erupts out, sending a trail of sparks and heat. Advancing forward, he just WAILS on her with the weapon, the air heating up uncomfortably for a good eight feet, making one get a good idea of the fiery intensity behind his strikes. But it doesn't end there. He whips his staff backwards, and in a hiss like burning oil blossoms into a long stream of connected links.
One, two, three overhead impacts crush her into the ground, blackening the stone, before a final impact sends a fiery geyser of roaring flame billowing out, obscuring Chae Lim for a few seconds, and Billy as well. Before he whirls his weapon amidst the smoke, sending it billowing away. "That's one!!"

Laughably harmless... LIKE A FOX. Daniel's strikes catch nothing but air, but do little in disheartening him. Even when Chae Lim unleashes a cunning insult against Daniel, he isn't stopped. After all, he was used to this sort of failure while training with Kasumi and Ryuhaku. For some strange reason, both of them emphasized both a strong rejection of failure. No matter what happens, always look to becoming better. Never wallow in despair. And if you mess up somehow, just bounce right back... Just as fearsome as before!

Or was it more fearsome than before.

In any case, Daniel being a meter away from Billy seems optimal at the moment. Why, even the boost from Alan's 'helpful' kick was still carrying him. Watching as Billy makes Filet Mignon out of Chae Lim, the detective eyes Billy's already damaged spine. Yes. There was only one thing to do.

Still rushing forward, Daniel winds a hand back over his shoulder. Flattening it out into a knife hand manner, he focuses hard on Billy's body. Yes, while he wasn't looking. Suddenly, the smoke consumes both of them, making the focus more difficult at first. But then, Daniel simply picks up the speed. Weaving to the side, he begins to unleash the knife hand strike as the smoke is cleared away by the Brit. Aiming the chop right for the center of his back, he attempts to liquify Billy's ENTIRE SKELETON with a single, smooth hand chop.

Alan can only shrug when his class is brought into question, but he holds open the ruin of his fine dark blue shirt when she dares sass his fashion. "This one was like $400, babe. Not all of us wrap up in gis!" He stays to the back, true to Billy's assessment, and doesn't appear very concerned when Chae Lim takes an even harder hit than he did, just letting out a whistle. "Now, see, if maybe I thought there was something in it for me, I'd've tried doing something about that."

The boxer dances around Daniel and Billy, and darts in for a quick hit while he's otherwise occupied. Lightning sizzles around his hand as he just strikes out at his ribs and fades back. "C'mon, now, man! Show me the pepper!"

Nothing personal? Certainly not! It's just a fight. A challenge. Something that will help her become even more formidable in her own right.

The formidability, of course, is going to happen AFTER she recuperates from the burns (again). Why is it people like setting her on fire so much?

Strike upon strike crashes against her body, the flame incinerating her favorite gi. Well, second favorite, since the red witch 'borrowed' the top of her last gi and still has yet to return it. Either way, she's very thankful that she's wearing a sportsbra and pair of shorts under the gi today, so that she doesn't wind up with a wardrobe malfunction. Despite the clothing beneath the thick gi, the fire still scorches her skin, causing her to scream out in an anguished pain. As the intensity of the fiery strikes fade, her body flops unceremoniously to the floor.

The poor Korean girl is down for the count.

OR IS SHE???

Her movements are slow and pained on the outside, excruciating to her on the inside. But she's not going to let this be the last for her. Forcing herself back to her feet, Chae Lim mutters, "It's n-not... a-bout... c-cost," to Alan. While she does this, she manages to stand upright (though just barely). Though it pains her to move in this manner, she flies back across the platform with a long jump kick aimed for Billy's head. Should she manage to get the distance and hit him (as opposed to crashing to the platform and succumbing to the sweet darkness of unconsciousness), she's every intention of following through with a series of quick kicks, ending in another attempt at an overhead axe kick, before simply dropping to her knees and letting her body try to recuperate whilst the battle rages on.

COMBATSYS: ChaeLim can no longer fight.

A glance backwards betrays that Daniel has been caught. Even with the helpful kick to the ass, there's no apparent difficulty in the man lunging to the side, the knifehand dropping over empty space, although it's lucky that such was managed or he'd now be crippled for life. It's true! The ease of his sidestep merely underlines the destructive, unmitigatable impact launched. One arm flies up, and the twist away from Alan is much closer. He got a heavy grazing shock from it, grimacing in discomfort. Luckily his legwork holds out, before alarmbells go off. Damnit. Twisting to Chae Lim, at the last moment he lunges forward, hitting the ground on a shoulder and rolling away. It's not a pretty evasion, but it'll do, pig. Picking himself up and letting out an exhale, Billy cracks his neck to either side. "Well... now we've got a crippled Alan, a man with a crippled style... I think this is mine. You give up?" He suddenly bursts into intense energy, heat flying out in all directions. Sparks dance about him like fireflies, and the very ground starts to smolder as his billowing jacket dances in that special way that people with overly visible charge moves have. His bo staff rests across one shoulder, and he beckons at the others. Come get it!

Daniel's amazing hand chop fails to meet it's target. It is at this point that Daniel Jack finally realizes the great skill of this Billy figure. And considering he evades the other set of attack, that only confirms it. Daniel Jack looks grimly at the Brit, taking only a brief glance at the downed Chae Lim. "Broken? I thought that snap I heard was something solid, you DIG." The detective seethed, gripping his belt. Loosening it slightly, he glares at Billy's fires, shaking his head. Reaching into his pants, he seems to be feeling around for a second. Then, his face twitches, and with a simple movement, pulls it out.

A gun, you doofus!

Drawing the small, snub-nosed pistol out, he levels at the charging fury. "Check it out, scuzzy!" Was the cry as Daniel let loose not one, but THREE rubber-tipped rounds at the bodyguard. "Follow through, Alan!"

Alan gives out a snort of derision as Daniel actually breaks out a gun. Even /Alan/ is already at the point where he laughs at bullets, barely even getting flesh wounds from the shots if he doesn't just dodge them. "Like hell. Looks like you've got a lot to learn about fighting, kid." He relaxes again, letting his own chi build up. "You want to rush in the teeth of /that/, be my guest." Alan's no idiot, despite appearances. If his life hadn't diverged, he'd've gotten a Ph.D. of some kind, gone into academia.

The point is, he knows how Billy fights now, after two rumbles with the man. He's trying to bait them in, and he can be fairly certain Billy would rather punish him for attacking over Daniel. Something about cigarettes. He has a hunch. The *R* agent relaxes his stance, sneering as electricity starts to crackle up around him again, giving him another good kick of power. "Have fun!"

COMBATSYS: Alan gathers his will.

Well, it's not very often that Billy gets shot at, really. The main reason is that it doesn't hurt much, when one is at his level. Taut steel muscle is like a bulletproof vest! Striking him with a crowbar, nine out of ten times, is more capable of inflicting serious damage. And less likely to piss him off. Thus, when they are made of rubber, it's like a toy to him. The first one is deflected with his bo staff, and the second he barely clips away as well. The third thwacks him hard in the shoulder, causing a grunt of surprise more then pain. "The hell was that?" Genuinely confused. But his attention returns to Alan, who has opted to immobilize himself once more. Whirling his weapon around, he then advances quickly, his body low to the ground. "Better hope you don't regret standin' still again..." is growled, before suddenly Billy slams his staff into the floor. It bends, and he launches himself straight up. Whirling, the Billy comet descends with vicious speed, snapping down both his staff and one leg in the same vicious moment as he attacks from straight above. "GO TO HELL!!"

Daniel Jack lets the bullets strike the Brit squarely. Yeah, he didn't expect them to actually take down. For some reason, the bigger guys seem to simply shrug them off. Especially the non-lethal ones. However, he wasn't rushing into the teeth of that. He wasn't quite sure WHAT he was getting in to. That's why he pulled out his gun. Whatever Billy was doing, it wasn't likely to be done against him as effectively if he was hit. The bullets didn't do much in terms of damage, but in terms of slowing attackers down.

In any case, Billy now was after Alan. And now, Daniel found his opportunity. Circling around Billy as he dove into towards Alan, he raised his gun high. Shuffling over, he dropped his pistol downward at Billy's back, attempting to pistol whip him either as he came down on Alan... or when he came up.

Alan takes a last drag from his cigarette as Billy springs up, and spits the stub to the side. "Like I said, I'm already /way/ past regrets!" The boxer suddenly snaps up, tensing his body, the gathered electricity swirling up, up!!

He leans back to meet Billy's meteor drop, locking his hands up over his head, pulling all of his electricity into an axehandle strike. His mouth is frozen into a rictus grin as he tries to drive his strongest attack right into the teeth of Billy's move. "---MJOLglmf-"

No.

Alan doesn't manage to get the Mjolnir up in time, and is instead dropped right on top of. His shades fly up, improbably spinning about to land perfectly on Billy's own face, and Alan slides absurdly away, body pointing upward, the back of his head digging a shallow groove in the arena floor with a horrible scraping sound. Finally, mercifully, he flops over onto his front, a few of his iron rings winning free of his fingers to bounce away.

Well, Billy looked genuinely shocked as Alan's thunder-infused strike went up. Was that apprehension on his face? But he drove all his weight down, kicking up the speed unexpectedly at the last moment. It was a close thing; had he just complacently fallen like a dead horse, Alan would of got him. Experience won him that victory, a new pair of shades, and a broken Alan. He yanks them off and flicks them aside, in the same instant twisting around violently as Daniel slithers forward. There's a sadism on his features now, grin wild and full of adrenaline. But the end of his staff skips off a chunk of stone, and his stance spread. The fist whistles towards him, and Billy is now in an inferior position by far. The very lack of complacence that allowed him to beat Alan now utterly fails him, and he tries to follow through with the swipe anyway. BAM. He's pelted in the ribcage hard for his trouble, spasming his arm up and missing by a mile. Which isn't surprising, really. He stumbles a few steps, rubbing at the wounded spot and giving an admonishing look. "You're really gonna try to fight me, aren't you?" is asked of Daniel, before he twists to face him in earnest. "I admire that!! Just don't regret it... going easy isn't in my vocabulary!" Whirling the weapon around in a showy display of his mastery, the end slams upon the ground hard enough a few flint-sized chips of stone fly out, and then he assumes a lithe, fluid stance bobbing his weight from one foot to the other.

Daniel Jack watches how Billy goes down... and with him, takes Alan with him. The strike may have been a morale breaker for the detective, except the moment did not call for his spirit to be broken. The boxer is sent reeling to the side, leaving Billy for the student of Todoh. But Billy is already aware of his presence, and moves to strike Daniel in response. But the detective just piles on through, crashing the butt of the pistol hard into the ribs of the bodyguard. And the detective? He just recoils back, moving his arms up into a defensive stance.

The show Billy puts forward... actually calms Daniel Jack down a bit. The other teammates put up a great fight, but the private eye had gotten much lower priority in the match. He was physically secure, if a bit tired. Only the neck strike from Chae Lim was making him a little stiff. With a fluid motion of his own, he slips the gun back into the depths of his gi pants, adjusting it back into it's holster. "Scuzzy, the only thing I regret are missed opportunities. And don't lie, I know you were going easy on us earlier. Or I HOPE."

Daniel brings his arms back out, positioning them ahead of him in the familiar aikido stance. "Cards are down, money is up, oh damn it all, wish me luck." He mutters to himself. His allies were gone. All the fans had three options. Go with Billy, despair, or go with Daniel. Hopefully, might do well enough to encourage the third option. Then, with an easy, solid series of movement, he stomps forward, alternating between Billy's feet work and his staff. With a short hop, he rushes low and forward, attempting to catch the man by his abdomen. If successful, he would whip him over and around, throwing the Brit on display on the cold stone slab.

"I was putting on a show. That's different." Billy offers, giving a last rub to his angered ribs. And the blow to his spine. Indeed, Daniel has not been a non-factor in this fight, regardless of the fact he was placed lowest on the totem pole of vicious abuse by the man. But right now, the British brawler seems to be fatigued, worn down, yet a far cry from defeated. Sweat is rubbed from beneath his bandana, as the Todoh student rushes forth. Again he moves, incredibly fluid. Daniel swipes only air, and in a rather viciously basic shift Billy lashes out in an overhead blow of his weighted staff, aiming to crack it between shoulder and neck. Hard -- intenting to ground the other man face-first before him. Dancing backwards regardless, he swaps the weapon to the other hand, having nothing else to say... simply gesturing for Daniel to bring it on once more, retaining that confident smirk of a man who knows he has already won!

WHAM.

BAM.

Thank you ma'am. Daniel Jack's hands fail to meet body, and in it's wake there was nothing but a simple, smooth smash in the collarbone. The detective goes down fast, HARD even, as his bone shatters. Smashing face first, the only thing saving Daniel from a bloody face was his talents in falling. Bringing his arms up first, he springs right back with unusual speed and dedication. Staggering upright, the student of Todoh forces himself into the defensive position, forcing his body into the aikido stance. His head seemed very tightly bond to his shoulder, for some reason, and his cold gaze was awfully... tense. "Not bad, scuzzy. Not bad at all. But lets see you try that again. Because, well..." Daniel Jack took a step back, arms steadily forward. Defensive positions seemed like the best approach here. "I want to put on a good show, after all." Was this it? Was Daniel Jack actually giving up? Or was he just watching Billy, observing his moves for the best response?

ONLY THE FUTURE WILL TELL.

"Alright." Billy immediately responds. Whatever Daniel's doing, it doesn't seem to be giving any concern to the Southside Syndicate leader. Preparing for this man's assault is like preparing to get run over by a car. There's nothing you can do!! In his own mind, at least. For a few moments, the sleek figure observes, smoothing at his denim pants fastidiously. Before shooting forward, low to the ground. His arm blurs as he brings up his staff abruptly, and then shoots it at a sharp upwards angle. It breaks into three pieces yet again as his foot pivots, throwing a twist of his hip into the speed and power. It is intended to strike Daniel within the face, not any harder then the other blow but greased lightning in comparison. A sharp yank returns the weapon to his hand, assuming it made the journey intact. Thereafter he would press forward, not intending to give the man any further breathing room if he can help it!

Daniel Jack watches Billy's movements carefully. He first imagined Billy's bo staff not as a full staff, but as a shinai, or a bamboo sword. Kasumi, in expanding his training with basic weapons, taught him how to counter those types of weapons. By proxy, Billy's Staff was almost like that. But then it breaks into smaller pieces. Now Daniel was on his own in his training, forced to think on his feet. The brit was moving at incredible speeds, the crowd's cheers and chants were escalating...

The detective grips one of the portions of the staff, and rips the staff across his body. The staff was harmless now, but he wanted to do something greater, something much more. Reaching his free hand over, he grabs Billy by the shoulder. With both the staff on one end, and the body in the other, he takes the remaining momentum of both, and simply hurls them hard across his body, chucking them ruthlessly across the stone slab. In the wake of the counter throw, Daniel Jack returns back to a defensive form, as if the attack never happened. And he just STARES at Billy, the spirit of Ryuhaku filling him. "Excellent work! Now try it RIGHT this time, scuzzy!"

Billy hadn't used a lot of power; it was speed, and it seems Daniel could compensate for that. In the blink of an eye he's flat on his back, and his limbs go askew, one hand gripping his weapon. For a few moments he simply remains there, staring at the sky as the later is offered. A slow, leisurely blink is followed, before he leans up into a sit. Then with a grunt, flowing to his feet. "..." The look is rather murderous! He just got knocked on his ass then chagrined by some nobody fighter! Well, now he has to kill him. That's the only way. Gripping either side of his staff, he begins to rapidly spin it. Flame erupts at both tips, and is quickly woven into a wreathing ring. He weaves it to the side, smirking towards Daniel as the fires grow hotter, and hotter... "Try this on instead, then..." Before he snaps out his staff, and sends the enormous fireball surging across the intervening distance. The ground blackens, the air warbles and distends in the heat, it's taller then Daniel is, and it might hurt a hell of a lot!!

Daniel Jack stares at the man, watching his movements carefully. His Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu actually worked fantastically. The Aikido was very effective, completely throwing Billy off his game. He was feeling a bit smug. Even the brit's death glare didn't faze him, nor was his spinning. That is, until he realizes that he spinning meant something horrible. Something VERY horrible.

The crowd began to get whipped into a greater and greater frenzy, knowing all too well what was coming up. Daniel Jack looked in a quiet stare of horror, and slowly shows a confidence glowing over his face. Digging his heels back, he crossed his arms forward, focusing hard inward. When the fire erupts forward, they consume the Todoh student entirely, barreling over him with a full fury. With the four ratios on top, well, they hurt. Badly. But Daniel Jack just holds there, thinking about baseball. And then, hamburgers. And then, Billy. The inferno pushes Daniel back and back, eating through his sleeves, until finally...

It ends, Daniel still standing with an intense look on his face.

He gingerly moved his arms downward. He wasn't going to able to block with them any time soon. Not that it would matter. The detective looks at Billy, face completely blank. And then, an intense grimace. He shakes his head, and begins to steps towards Billy. "Not bad, scuzzy. But Granny, you are going to need a whole lot more than that to take down a practitioner of Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu." Daniel Jack just stares at Billy, consuming his every move delicately and carefully. He was going into pure Aikido mode now, for better or for worse. Beside, there was no way he could cover that distance with an attack. No way whatsoever.

Well, well. It looks like Daniel is playing the defensive card rather heavily. Billy is many things, most less then prim and proper. The other man is watched evenly, and really, it's rather impressive that he survived the onslaught of flame. The last vestiges fade away in a hiss of sparks and smoke from the ground. Hooking the bo staff beneath an elbow, he then claps his hands together three times. The sound is very hollow. "Good show. You do realize I'm a far cry from defeated, don't you? What're you hoping to accomplish by standing around? I thought you had balls, but you're just a desperate mouse who'll shiver in the corner until he has no other choice..." Oh, he knows what the other man is intending to do. He's revealed his capability to intercept maneuvers, with enough skill to even catch Billy. So he just rears back his staff, and decides to let him. Snapping out his staff, it breaks into three pieces. Alan's burnt corpse would recognize it; intending to slam into his chest with earthshattering force, and as it is yanked back send him spiraling away in a burst of flames. No real comment, nor any flourish; just a split second of lashing sparks and rasping chain, attempting to END IT!!

Predict what Daniel was going to do? Privately, Daniel was working off three different techniques, and switching freely between them. The Way of Kasumi was his meat and potatoes, while the Way of Ryuhaku kept him relatively stable and tough. But the third technique was good old-fashioned sleuth-style. With Aikido kicking it solid, Billy was expecting another toss job. Daniel kept his pace steady, positioning his hands behind his back. A mouse backed in a corner. That was actually very apt. Daniel Jack took up Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu out of fear. He started this fight in fear. And now, well. He was facing down one of the world's greatest fighters. Well, might as well mix him up a bit.

As Billy charged forward, Daniel grabbed something tucked away in the back of his shirt. Whipping both hands around, he puts together the magazine of his Grease Gun right back in the home where it belongs. Leveling the submachine gun at the Brit, he notices something different about the rushing staff bits. Namely, the rush of fire. Daniel squeezes the trigger, letting loose a spray of bullets at the staff, attempting to overwhelm it with volume. With minor deflection, it didn't look like it was going to happen. As such, he put up with the only thing left to do.

The detective brings the gun up, shoving himself to the side. The staff and fire smash hard across the gun and the hands holding it. And the arms. And the front of his face. Daniel howls in pain briefly, but shuts his trap. The gun is sent flying across the floor, leaving Daniel to cringe on the ground. His hands were burned wrecks now. His arms were the same. He sits there on his knees, for a moment, shuddering. But he stops. And takes a long, deep breath. He looks up at Billy, and stands up. Carefully, he eases his arms slowly into the defensive posture of Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu. One mangled hand forward. One mangled hand back. He stares at Billy. "Like I said, Granny. You'll need a lot more than that."

Judging by the deep wounds in his hand, that wasn't going to be a lot more.

"Hah. You didn't fall down. That's pretty impressive, really." Billy offers, when he pulls back his weapon and finds that the precise volley staved off any significant damage. The trash talk doesn't seem to be affecting the Brit anymore; mayhaps given the fact that the other man is quite obviously posturing, as opposed to any genuine arrogance that can be seen. He gives his staff a few more heavy swishes through the air, then advances forward once more. Planting the weapon on the ground, he springboards forward, whipcracking into a vicious kick leveled sideways, trying to catch the other man right in the gut, to poleaxe him before sending him hopefully flying away. Thereafter, he'd try to keep some distance. Oh, Billy hasn't been this tired in a long time. Draw out attrition affairs are rare, as he tends to either horribly beat or horribly get beat in short order. But he's not about to drop over just yet...!

The defensive stance was mostly for show, really. Daniel Jack couldn't really use his hands or arms effectively. The wounds were just too much. However, when Billy approaches, Daniel stares forward, flexing his muscles. Nope, he wasn't going to be able to grab him. Looks like it was time for the alternate approach. As Daniel watches the Brit comes shooting forward, he brings his arms for- oh wait, No. Okay, what did Todoh teach about this? Kasane Ate? Nope, arms were out. Well, what did Kasumi- Kasumi did teach him to use his arms. That left the agile sidestep.
Daniel fails to sidestep.

Instead, he is knocked back, ribs caving in slightly as the brit hits with such intense effort. The man struggles to breath, feeling his legs turn into jelly. Cringing tightly inwards, He thought long and hard, thinking about the fight. His arms. Why did his arms betray him? What would Master Todoh do at a time like this? .... Kasane Ate. "KASANE ATE!" Was the cry as Daniel swung his arm downward, unleashing a small wave of energy. He suddenly rushed into an elbow jab before unleashing another swipe of orange chi. "KASANE ATE!" He charged in with another elbow jab, but suddenly... he collapses, interrupting his own attack short. He lays on the slab, eyes open, blinking slowly. For whatever reason, he wasn't going unconscious. He was refusing it, fighting it hard. And yet, he was totally helpless, finally fallen in this fight.

The first attempt to Kasane Ate fails. The bo staff strikes upwards, and hits the wrist. Energy shoots off in another direction. Billy smiles, the same smile that Chae Lim saw before she got rather thoroughly beaten. And much the same ensues, as he suddenly breaks apart his staff and then lashes out with one end, striking multiple times with the chain-attached section. A few stout blows are juggled, before he allows Daniel to crash backwards and fall, out of the fight. Billy's sweating like he was French instead of British, sagging now as the tension can be let go within his agonizing muscles. "Whew..." he manages, leaning heavily on his staff a moment before thrusting up his fist to the crowds. Oh, they are pleased; he put on quite a performance. But Daniel himself might have made a few new ones; as that nameless newcomer who not only knocked Billy Cane on his ass, but survived his signature move as well. There's not a lot of people twice his skill who can say they did THAT. He then saunters off, weapon in tow. His clothes need a thoooorough scrubbin' to get rid of THIS sweat!
