SNF 2008.06 - Bath! Batsu vs Marisol/Zach

Description: Zach, Batsu, and Marisol get thrown in a room and are expected to fight it out. In a Bond-like twist, RAWR staff pump the room with some kind of nerve gas! (Winners: Marisol/Zach)

Well, this has been fascinating times for Batsu Ichimonji. Insulted, baited, assaulted at his own school, and more to the point beat into the ground by the weird blue-haired ice-using girl. Although disappointed with his performance in that fight, Batsu realizes his frustration has more to do with the weird dialogue between he and Kula than it does with his opinion of his fighting skills. And he's going to need to train, so down he goes to the office to sign up for Saturday Night Fights for that week. Wacky stunts aside, SNF is usually a good place to meet capable fighters and get a good workout.

Boy, is he in for an unpleasant surprise.

The outside of the building sets off some primal warning bell in Batsu, but he fights it down. Lord knows that there are science types at Taiyo that are equally wacky and mostly harmless. However, the sterile inside, with the whole gunmetal, glass, and white walls feel, is increasingly WEIRD. "It's like bein' in a sci-fi sentai show..." he mutters under his breath, walking to the fight room for his match with SNF staff. A very unkind part of him is thinking that fastidious, precise Kyosuke would be in heaven here... and Hinata would be clawing at the walls trying to find something other than white or grey in her field of vision.

Finally, he's deposited in the basically featureless room and told to wait, which is exactly what he does... but he does not look happy about it. Everything about him says 'uneasy', and he is clearly the type who gets belligerent the more nervous or distressed he is.

Zach makes his way in shortly after, recognition of Batsu registering clearly on his face as he waves to the high school student. Zach then looks around the room they have been told to fight in. No props, no gear, no terrain to speak of.

Very Final Destination, Zach thinks.

The third person has yet to show, so Zach shoves his hands in his pockets and waits.

"Uhh, I didn't agree to this--!"

Beyond the one-way glass of the observation room the girl protests her newfound environs to be. A featureless, stark white room with nothing of note, save for some oddly-placed suspicious vents. All but shoved to the electronic steel-plated door separating her from the other fighters the girl shakes her head, her red mane waving furiously.

"This is a sentence! Fighters can't fight in such small confines!!"

"You signed up and agreed to this miss. Don't worry, it won't be forever. We think."

"BUT--!!"

A loud hiss of electronics echoes in the room as the door slides open, revealing a none-too-pleased Marisol being shoved by a man in a white lab coat. Furrowing her brows in comical frustration, the girl sharply turns on her heels to yell at the labby...

Only to find the door slammed shut in her face.

"What the hell?"

Scoffing lightly, Marisol lifts a hand to her neck and shoulder, her head rolling absently as she tries to work out the built-up tensions from this odd arena-to-be. Gray eyes glance from Zach to Batsu, neither of which she recalls the face of or ever seeing personally. An odd and awkward silence follows, as thick as smog as the girl stands there.

"Weeeelp," the girl finally offers, hands on her hips.

"Lets do this already, yeah? I really don't like being here."

The purple-haired young man gets a nod from Batsu as he enters the room; he vaguely remembers Zach from another SNF, fighting with Acacia Gillespie, but that was some time ago... that, and the room they'd been in had been ridiculously warm, sapping their strength. When Batsu had gone out, he'd gone OUT. Thus the memory of that is a little hazy.

Oh Batsu. If only you knew.

The other entrant the Burning Fighter decides he immediately likes, because she's belligerent but she's talking sense. This IS a pretty small space for fighting in, especially for three people. The door getting slammed in her face is a little weird too. Crossing his arms over his chest, the Taiyo senior nods and inclines his head a bit. "Yeah, I'm with ya on that. Somethin' about this place is givin' me the skin crawlies."

He uncrosses his arms, getting into the loose, boxer-like stance that's the trademark of his self-created brawling style, and is about to say something... when the hissing noise starts.

There's a frown, and then he looks back and forth, trying to figure it out. He even sniffs a little, but other than the weird smell of a weird room in a weird building, he's got noting. "Let's get this started," he says, lips in a tight line. "I kinda want to get outta here."

Zach frowns as the other two start to complain. Glen nods quickly as he eyes Batsu closely. He slides into his typical Terry-Meets-Todoh fighting stance; hands in close, but open with his feet about shoulder-width apart. There is a slight bounce to his step as he waits for the right moment.

He sniffs the air, unable to place the scent. Kind of reminds him of that time in the diving suit, though. No idea why.

And then Zach rushes in on the Burning Fighter, firing off a fast punch aimed at Batsu's midsection. At the full extension of his fist, there is a violent ripple in the air that carries a trace of purple energy with it. It might sting a little.

Eyes fix on Batsu as he verbally regards the Pacific boxer, gray eyes widening slightly before she sports him a wry smirk. "Yeah, to be honest I was never big on doctors, or scientists, or whatever the hell these weirdos are. I don't get a good vibe either." A glance is spared one last time around the room. There's nothing here. Nothing but those vents.

"It's like something out of a Bond movie," she remarks with a light frown. A light shrug follows, her smirk twisting into a forced smile. "Ah well." Gray eyes drift to the quiet fighter present, Zach. Is he going to say anything at all, she wonders. Just as her mouth parts and she begins to say something--

A hiss fills the room.

"Oh you've gotta be kidding me!" A heavy sigh follows, as Marisol nods to the Taiyo brawler. "I agree."

And without a moment of hesitation, her 'partner' for the fight takes off after Batsu. Narrowing her eyes, Marisol lets her hands curl into tight fists, lips pulled across her tanned face before she nods lightly to herself. No time better than now, she privately decides.

And with that thought she charges forward, a fist driving toward Batsu's gut just after Zach. If it should land she'll grab the brawler by his head and yank down, driving his face to her knee before shoving off, attempting to swing a leg up and kick Batsu right in the jaw. "HAAAAH!"

COMBATSYS: Marisol successfully hits Batsu with Chain Reaction.

Apparently, worry's not really helping Batsu's game right now. Grimacing, he tries to duck back out of the way of Marisol's fist but is too little, too late. It has the doubly unintended effect of making the Burning Fighter's intent to snag Zach's punching arm and just toss him the hell away extremely complicated, to the point of abject failure. The result is Batsu stumbling back more than a few steps and wiping a bit of blood from his lips, frowning. Not a good day so far.

He's about to open his mouth to say something -- AGAIN -- and instantly slams it shut. Yeah, shooting pain and a little numbness might be usual for fighting, but typically only in the place where somebody HIT you. This is in his feet, the tips of his fingers... a weird combo of lances of stinging pain, and the feeling like his arms just woke up from being 'asleep' for a long while. And then his eyes swivel around the room, and he notices the ceiling.

And the barely perceptible vents.

...yeah. No need to panic. Instead he just turns and smirks at the other two fighters. Let's just get it over with, Batsu thinks to himself. No need to panic anybody. "That all you got? I barely felt it. Gimmie a little more!"

Zach sets his feet, his eyes narrowed. He doesn't really have anything to actually =say= right now. He doesn't really know either of these fighters, so it's really just business as far as he is concerned.

The grin on his face, though, should be answer enough for Batsu's question.

Glen pulls his fist back, violet energies wrapping around his forearm as he aims carefully. Zach throws his hand forward, and a wide swath of energy follows in the wake of his fist before widening and extending a good ten feet in front of him before disappearing. If he notices anything from the environment, the numbness in the extremeties and the needles of pain across his palms, well... he doesn't give any indication.

He's been in odd fights on account of SNF, or the Jinchuu, and he's fought while drugged before. Business as usual, one could suppose.

As Batsu stumbles back and away, recovering from the double assault, Marisol backs off in kind, letting her gray eyes hood as she observes the Taiyo fighter. Despite the annoying hiss of the nearby vents and the colorless fog crawling into the large, featureless room, she tries to keep her head on her shoulders. No sense in getting too worked up over the fight. They couldn't POSSIBLY kill the fighters.

...right?

Shaking her head faintly, the half-Spaniard offers a lopsided grin as Batsu chides them. But before she can really reply in kind, there's a really weird, really funny feeling going through her body, the numbness and pain and fogginess of her thoughts. Maybe they really DO want to kill them??

With a low grunt of frustration the redhead's shoulders tense, gray eyes narrowed sharply as she focuses on Batsu. The motion from the corner of her eye is noted, as Zach moves and summarily throws a huge gout of violet energy at the Taiyo fighter. Hooding her eyes, the half-Spaniard girl just grins.

And then, like before, she moves in on Batsu, attempting to sock him with a one-two punch across the face, despite the grief her numbing arms and stinging fists give her. Work with her, body, come on! Don't fail her now!

This may be a bigger problem for Batsu than he had anticipated, and only once Marisol strikes and he attempts something risky, does he find out why. Zach is left out of focus for the moment; when the blast of psychic energy comes his way, Batsu treats it like any old random punch or kick; he throws a forearm into the path and weathers the storm. It still stings something fierce, but for the most part the attack is deflected. Marisol's attack, however, presents an entirely different challenge.

Deciding to meet fists with not fists, he lets that raised forearm stay where it is and starts a low, growly "Haaaaaa..." start under his breath, trying to call up that deep cerulean blue energy that is another personal trademark. And he gets it... somewhat. But he's nervous, and annoyed... and more to the point, Batsu's ability to use his chi is almost entirely dependent on his emotional state, and particularly aggression or rage. And he's just not feeling that right now. When Marisol's finally in range, the energy he needs hasn't 'peaked' yet; there's not enough to do anything coherent with it. And thus he has a moment of surprised instability before Marisol clocks him one in the jaw.

It doesn't bowl him over or anything, but it does make him stumble a second time... and makes him keenly aware of the return of that stinging pain. "Don't like this..." he murmurs. A casual observer probably assumes he means the fight going ridiculously poorly for him, which is partially true, but he's got something else on his mind.

Zach frowns still. He's noticed. Something's... off. The energy is not coming forth as readily, it's sluggish and getting slightly harder to move in just the way he would like.

So he tries something. Almost as an experiment in and of itself. He extends one arm, fist clenched towards Batsu as he tucks the other fist by his side. He twists his torso away from Batsu as he places that extended fist on the ground.

His psycho power responds to his call. Not quite the amount he can normally pull up, but still better than nother. The light show, the streams and wisps of energy whipping around him are still pretty impressive however, casting a purple tint across everything and everyone in the room...

COMBATSYS: Zach gathers his will.

With a struggling step back and away from the clocked Taiyo brawler, Marisol's jaw tenses as she gives the struck fighter his distance. The neurotoxins gassing the room aren't making this any easier for the girl, and likely for the others--Batsu especially. Poor guy.

But a SNF is a SNF! However 'deadly' it may be. Clenching her teeth behind her full lips, Marisol lets her hands remain in tightly-coiled fists, gray eyes fixed entirely on the Taiyo fighter as he struggles to maintain amidst the chaos of neurotoxins and being stuck in a white room with two fighters. Bunching her shoulders, the girl tries to fight against the growing numbness and pain, her head lightly shaking before she simply lets out a loud holler of "THIS SUCKS!"

Regardless of Zach and his pooling of energy, Marisol makes the charge once more. Determined to get this fight over as soon as possible, her fists ignite with dandelion yellow chi energy as she rushes in on Batsu. With a straight punch, followed by a cross punch the girl intends on clocking Batsu again before she twists her body and drives both fists into the trunk of his body, contact--if any--resulting in a furious burst of yellow!

Man she hopes that neurotoxin isn't lethal. ...or at least damaging.

COMBATSYS: Batsu dodges Marisol's El Matador.

...it does suck.

Usefully, Marisol's shout actually does sort of wake up Batsu's dormant degree of anger about this. This DOES suck. What the hell? Other conditions in SNFs have been WACKY but not *life-threatening*, and they were always, always disclosed first. This was a sucker-punch, and a nasty one at that. Clenching one fist, Batsu nods at Marisol, setting his jaw. "Yeah... yeah it does. So..."

And then he's moving. FORWARD. Like a bullet, he blows by Marisol at speed, ducking and weaving through her initial punch and breezing right past her, combining his dodge of her attack with an opportunity to strike at Zach, defensive posture or not. "So I'm gonna finish this up and..." Once he gets close, the Taiyo brawler cocks one fist back and, with all his might, rams it forward right into Zach's guard... or his face, if he's not careful. "...FIND OUT WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON!"

COMBATSYS: Zach blocks Batsu's Fierce Punch.

Zach's eyes go wide as Batsu launches in on him. HE'S COMING RIGHT FOR US! Zach brings his arms up, and braces up good to absorb as much of the punch on as much meat as he can get under it.

Zach is still forced back ten feet under the weight of the strike.

Zach winces as he tries to shake his arms loose, the gasses not helping to blunt the damage much... though it doesn't =feel= like it hurts as much as Zach knows that it should. Perhaps this is a good thing. He shakes his head. "Man. Gonna feel that one in the morning," he says lightly. He charges in on Batsu again, whipping his arm in an upward motion. A burst of psychic energy rushes upward from the ground to send Batsu into the air. The momentum of the motion takes Zach into the air, and Glen adds some rotation as he throws another wide band of the energies off of his outstretched hand, aiming to either mash on Batsu a bit or knock the Burning fighter to the floor with a cry of "POWER DUNK!"

Wait...what?

In the span of seconds Batsu outright avoids the assault and barrels like a bullet past her, right for Zach. Blinking slowly, she plants a foot and whips her body around, to face the senior squarely as he drives a fist at Zach's face. Fortunately, however, the other fighter shakes it off. Well, as best as he can, anyway. A light wince is offered.

Letting her fist curl and clench, the girl struggles for a breath before she simply purses her lips and hoods her eyes. Focused and determined, she lets her nostrils flare as she exhales, still struggling to fight off the mental distractions plaguing her, no thanks to the neurotoxins suffocating the small enclosed room.

"Tch," is her only real response as Zach throws himself at Batsu. Watching and waiting, she bides her time before she throws herself into the fray, attempting to seize the Taiyo senior by his collar and throw him bodily into a nearby wall with loud guttural yell.

Batsu ain't havin' none of that. The neurotoxin is enough (not that he knows it's a neurotoxin); Zach's purple energy which feels weird enough as-is is not going to help things. Thus when he first gets a glimmer of purple out of the corner of his eye, he leaps up and over it, probably passing right under Zach in the process. However, this also puts him right of Marisol's grab, even sooner than either fighter might have anticipated. Realizing there's no way out, he simply tries to let his body go slack and roll with the flow. Needless to say, it doesn't work.

Instead, he slams into the wall, a little harder than he'd intended, making a loud 'oof!' noise before turning around and rubbing his nose, almost comically. He does grin at Marisol, though. "Heh, I think you and me are gonna get along fine," he offers, cracking his knuckles. "TRY THIS ON, THEN!" Rushing forward, the Burning Fighter dashes at Marisol, before planting his foot and lashing out with his other leg *HARD*. A little telegraphed, but that's going to smart like the dickens if it hits.

Zach lands hard, dropping into a low crouch as he tries to re-center himself. He looks over his shoulder at Batsu with a frown. He considers for another moment before dragging himself upright with a slight wobble before jogging towards the Taiyo youth.

Zach then tries another aerial technique, torquing hard at the waist as he vaults towards Batsu. Zach locks one leg out as it arcs over his shoulder, awash in that uncomfortable purple energy he throws around all willy-nilly, aiming the powered kick hard at Batsu's collarbone. "CRACK SHOOT!"

Like an awkward snake the girl's arm whips back to her side before it goes limp, as Batsu flies and ultimately hits the distant wall. Frowning lightly to herself, she simply paces back, giving herself a brief moment to try and collect her wits about her. Unfortunately, with the toxins pumping into the room at a rather steady pace, it makes it almost impossible for her to do precisely that. Suffice to say, the half-Spaniard Pacific girl is getting frustrated.

"Hah, thanks," the girl offers, as Batsu pulls himself to his feet and cracks his knuckles. Regardless of Zach blazing forward the girl just grits her teeth as Batsu rushes her, shoulders squared as she stands there. But rather than wait til the last moment to get out of dodge--

The girl stands there, Batsu's kick striking true.

It winds her briefly, gray eyes wide as saucers before she loudly exhales. Staggering a step back, she fights off the numbness coursing through her body...long enough to attempt to seize Batsu's leg and give a fierce tug. It's followed by a fierce backhand and a light smirk, before her fists clench and ignite with yellow chi. Drawing her fist forward, Marisol attempts to punch Batsu in the stomach with a flaming fist, followed then by two flaming hook punches, each strike across his face marked by concussive bursts of dandelion-yellow energy to stun and disorient the Taiyo senior!

Heh.

At this point the feeling that he's about to keel over is pretty intense. It may be that because he's doing twice the work in this fight he's metabolizing the neurotoxing faster, not that Batsu would know what that meant even if you used charts and diagrams. That and the fact that he has yet to land a clean hit, but the plucky youngsters he's been assigned to battle are both hammering away with ridiculous success. The result is fatigue and, more importantly, sheer loss of stamina. The energetic Taiyo student has power for miles, but...

...it doesn't matter much if you can't keep from getting hit. He's going to stand his ground, power right on through to the other side if he has to. At least before whatever the hell's in this room knocks him out, he can make his mark on these two. Marisol, sadly, is attacking with something more complex than he's first thought; intending to dive into the punch, the chi aura catches him by surprise and makes his effort to roll with it pointless.

With Zach, it's a relative success; the kick lands home but utterly fails to knock him over, perhaps some last-second surge of strength giving him the ability to stand for one last hurrah. It probably won't help him against Marisol, but with Glen in close, he might get the worst end of it. "Nice... gonna have a *word* with the... SNF people after this, though."

The he jumps straight up.

Not far, and not for long, but even as he ascends his body blazes with that sudden blue corona of chi, and when he nears the ceiling he actually inverts himself and *kicks off of it*, dropping back down toward the two other fighters at hellacious speed. "ZENKAI! RYUUSEI..." ANd when he gets close? Normally this is an arrow drop onto one person... instead, he pulls a Sakura and revises it a little bit, doing a sudden splits kick. A splits kick powered by that aura of burning blue chi and the force of his dive, as well. "...KICK!"

Zach can't move, can't react in time. The gas is taking its toll, and Batsu's last ditch strike is just too fast for Glen to avoid. The full-power kick sends Zach flying all the way across the room, and into the wall. Zach gives before the vertical surface does. He slumps to the ground and stays sitting down for a moment. He lurches forward, then pulls himself slowly to his feet.

He eyes Batsu warily, and decides he has one last recourse. He cups both hands by his left hip, twisting his torso slightly away from the Taiyo boy. Purple energy screams into existance, spinning and sweeping around Glen's body, his arms as it collects into something the size of a basketball between the waiting palms. "Gotcha," Zach growls as he throws his hands forward, fingers spread apart widely. The attack, which can only really be called a beam, is about as wide across as Zach is tall, and it's aimed right at Batsu!

There's precious little time for Marisol to reply; moments after Batsu speaks he suddenly leaps up, a sudden aura of blue energy consuming his body from head to toe. The half-Spaniard girl lightly squints. What the hell..?

When he descends, he shoots both legs outwards, striking Zach. ..as well as Marisol. Sent flying back as she's struck by the chi-powered kick, the redhead crashes against the distant white wall, a loud exhale escaping her lungs as she struggles for breath. It smarted a bit, like that kick from before, so much she lifts a hand and rubs at her chest. A glance is spared to Zach, who doesn't seem to have fared much better.

"D-damn," the girl mutters softly, rubbing at her chest before she pulls herself from the wall. Numb, bruised and a bit battered, the redhead slowly but surely lumbers forward, biding her time as Zach sends a burst of energy flying at the Taiyo senior, her slow steps gradually gaining speed...before she throws herself at Batsu, attempting to drive a swift and fleeting blow right at his throat with a straight punch. "HYAAGH!"

There's a completely unintended side effect of Batsu's sudden bout of combat improvisation. Two points of impact from a dropping aerial kick means that the Taiyo student has two points of articulation to get himself back in the air... well, that and he knows that whoever he hit is going to be REALLY ANGRY and probably want to deck him one in the face afterwards, so he's already minding how he's going to make this work. Zach takes the blow a little harder, so rebounding off of him doesn't really work... but Marisol, who can stand her ground a little better, is upgraded from "Victim" to "Springboard".

Just in time, too; he *pushes* off her with the force of the kick, using it to drop in a low horizontal arc onto the ground in a crouch... just as a massive purple beam of energy blazes through the place where he *just was* in mid-leap. Thankfully nowhere near Marisol, but also just missing Batsu as well.

Then, of course, the Pacific student comes barreling at him and his evasion is much less elegant: he dives to the side like a man avoiding an explosive device (almost the truth), landing in a tumble that brings him up in a crouch a few yards away. "Hoo... that was close."

Then he coughs a few times.

"Heh... gettin' kinda serious in here, I better knock you people out before I pull somethin'!" the cocky Burning Fighter jokes, before launching himself at Marisol -- let's face it, bitchin' big beam of energy does not say 'come punch me now prz' -- with a basic, quick snap kick to her side.

Zach slumps to the ground, breathing hard. He's been running a bit hard, and is starting to pay the price for it. Zach slumps to one knee, weakly grabbing his side as he tries to get more oxygen than nerve gas into his system.

...naturally, this has mixed results.

COMBATSYS: Zach gains composure.

Furrowing her brows as she's otherwise used as a springboard, the half-Spaniard girl doesn't dwell too terribly on the thought; instead she throws herself into a punch that goes avoided. Even Marisol has to give the fighter kudos on avoiding a massive beam of purple energy and the girl's careless punch at his throat. Lips purse lightly. Hm.

"But not close enough!" the girl calls, as Batsu gets back onto his feet. Soon enough the Taiyo senior snaps a kick at her side, to which she responds...by again not moving. The toe of his boot lands into her side, drawing a loud grunt through clenched teeth. But she maintains; slamming her arm down, she attempts to pin his leg in place, eyes widening as she smiles.

"Why are you worried about pullin' something when we're probably being poisoned?!" the girl exclaims before she releases the leg with a twist and a mild bodily shove. It's meant to disorient; the real blow comes when she throws herself into action again, four savage hooks, one after the other aimed for his face and meant to stun. And should she achieve precisely that the redhead will recoil back and tighten a fist insanely at her side, muscles rippling...before her body shoots forward, a straight punch aimed for Batsu's chest as she delivers a loud, guttural cry.

COMBATSYS: Marisol successfully hits Batsu with Atom Smasher.

Well, he got his righteous indignation all good and worked up! Sadly, it didn't do him a lot of good. "BECAUSE..." And then he's cut off by hook after hook, and that final punch that smacks into his chest and sends him tumbling backwards. He's been dealt worse, but not in this condition... and usually only by people with more experience than Marisol. A tiny part of Batsu's brain says: she is gonna be fearsome someday.

But he's still got a message, and he grinds it out dramatically as he gets up, shakily. He can give this one last shot... enough to hold it together to have put on a good show. Then everyone will get let out, right? Right. "Because if I focus on what's goin' on, I'm gonna lose it," he answers honestly, gripping his left elbow with his right hand and wincing at the pain. "Understand?! I came here to fight, so I'm gonna fight 'til I can't anymore. I gotta trust things will work themselves out. 'Sides..." And here he grins at both Marisol and Zach. "Gonna take more than some two-bit rat trap to kill Batsu Ichimonji."

Finally, he stands up straight. Yeah. Gonna give it one last go. He clenches his fist, which suddenly bursts into blazing red flames. "SO I'M GONNA GIVE IT MY ALL UNTIL THE BUZZER! GOT THAT?!" And then he's rushing Marisol, to prove his point: he unleashes nothing less than a truly absurd uppercut with that flaming fist, looking to flat-out knock the girl INTO THE CEILING if he has to. "GUTS! UPPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

COMBATSYS: Batsu can no longer fight.

If he focuses on what's going on, he's going to lose it?

"Damn," the girl mutters, a hand reaching up and absently brushing at the back of her neck. The guy has a damn good point. Glancing aside, gray eyes fix on the floor, regardless of how hazy her gaze is growing, or how numb her arms feel, or even the pain coursing her body.

Glancing up, the girl offers the Taiyo senior a light grin. "Yeah, I get it now, I think," she replies, offering a light nod before she offers a light salute. "Got it. Give it your best, Batsu." And then his fists ignite with red flames, and soon enough he's charging RIGHT FOR HER. The girl offers a dumbfounded look, gray eyes widening like saucers again before she tries to lift her arms and shield herself. Unfortunately, it's far too slow; the result?

A loud CLANG as the girl slams into the ceiling, briefly sticking there like a Wacky WallWalker before she peels off and hits the floor with a subsequent CLANG.

For the longest time she stares at the ceiling and the dent she left. Then, slowly, her shoulders shudder as she laughs weakly, eyes pinching shut as she just lay there. If she's going to die, she'll die happy. That fight was so worth it, she decides as she struggles for breath. "A-awesome."

COMBATSYS: Marisol takes no action.

Fortunately for everyone, right after delivering that punch, the Burning Fighter gave a quick "...heh," and then toppled forward onto his face.

Zach watches as Batsu lays into Marisol. Part of him thinks 'better her than me,' and he immediately feels bad about it. Luckily, the gas stops, and the doors open. Zach grins faintly as fresh air rushes in. It's some good stuff!

COMBATSYS: Zach drops his guard to recover.
