SNF 2008.06 - Airplane! Birdie vs Tenma, CA: Maki

Description: In this SNF, Birdie and Tenma fight on a plane while it's flying! ANd Maki plays at the chaos agent! A lot of things happen, spill, chills, and horrible air line food! (DRAW MATCH)

Maki says, "OK"

Once again: This is a terrible idea.

Inside one of the cabins of the otherwise empty airliner, with secret cameras set up who knows where and a variety of expensive things to break, not to mention only that proverbial plank between those inside and perdition - or at least a thin atmosphere and a long fall to the ocean below - one of the participants for this particularly poorly thought out Saturday Night Fight match is waiting for things to start.

Tenma Kiryuu, student at Gedo High and leader of the team known as the 'Guardian Kings', is hunched down in the middle of an aisle, crouching as he looks around him with one eye, his expression vaguely irritated. His everpresent bokken, already with that chi link of his activated, emanates a smoky aura of bloody red energy, blood and chi mixed together until they're one and the same, is used to lean on at the moment, the point stuck against the carpeting. There are a few reasons why he seems, well, not too happy with this arrangement. The first is that he's acutely aware of how little there is protecting the combatants from some serious consequences to their actions.

The second is that he really doesn't like flying.

Located on the other side of the empty airliner is Birdie, his hulking frame standing in the same spot since take off, as he just can't wait for everything to get going at once.

Even as they leave the ground, Birdie's awaiting the fight. Even as they fly high, he's awaiting a flight. Even when the 'buckle your seat belts' light goes off, he's awaiting a fight.

And now, infront of him is the leader of this Guardin Kings thing. Birdie doesn't seem to give a shit or two. He remembers the dude not too long ago on the ship. And this little runt ate it big time. Well, there's no change in plans today. That's what Birdie's going to do today too. Even as they lift off.

Birdie really doesn't care about the plane either. Hell, he could spear a hole in it with his head. Maybe he WILL DO THAT. He doesn't give a damn. Well, as long as they don't land in water. Birdies bounce, but they sure as hell don't swim.

Looking down towards the boy infront, he offers a wide shit eating grin. Awwwww.

Birdie and Tenma are here to mix things up in a really high-flying exciting fight, up on an empty airplane. The two of them should make for a good fight indeed. But they're not the only ones who are here. Nope, it appears the SNF hosts have decided to throw a Chaos Agent into the fray to add to the fun. And what fun it's gonna be when Birdie sees who's been chosen as the Chaos Agent for today's match.

Maki.

Yes, the same Maki who once robbed him of a victory, and only recently defeated him in a close battle in the Neo League. Maki's certain that Birdie's gonna be really happy to see her. As for Tenma, she's not too familiar with him, but it's always nice to make new acquaintances in the fighting circuit... that is, if you want to call them acquaintances!

For now, Maki simply stands out of sight, enjoying a last drink of water before the fight is about to begin. She'll make her appearance known after the antics have started, since that's when things will be more fun.

On the other hand, Tenma has no idea who Maki is.

Straightening up finally as he looks down the aisle at Birdie, the youth's mouth pulls into a slow grin. Fighting, at least, he enjoys; maybe he can block out the 'on a plane' part. "Don't see what you're grinnin' about," Tenma says to Birdie, bringing his chi-emanating bokken up. "Considerin' you're gonna get beat so bad your own mother ain't gonna recognise you." Really, what's a fight without trash talk? It's hardly a fight at all! Tenma remembers Birdie from the events during Jinchuu as well, though it's difficult to tell if he has any hard feelings about the whole situation...

...After all, he DID get to hit Elle really, really hard.

"In fact," Tenma continues, suddenly sweeping his wooden blade through the air, leaving a red afterimage behind it; the sweep of his weapon is of course too far away from Birdie to hit the big man /directly/, but what happens next could be more troublesome, as from that red aftertrail is born a crescent of real, roiling blood, held together by Tenma's power as it slices through the air at the enormous thug. "...LET'S GET RIGHT ON THAT!"

Looking towards Maki, Birdie still has a somewhat distaste about the last time he saw her. Alright, she won, he'll admit that, but he just had really dumb luck at the end, like tripping over his own feet. Still, Birdie just has to keep focused. On what? Maybe Tenma. He seems to want the brawlers attention as he begins to speak.

"Oh yeah, I remember that. You're the boy that decided that it was bloodly brilliant to fight us all at once." Birdie snorts, "Really now. You think that was a good idea? I dunno bloke." Birdie states, even as the weapon cuts forward, blood and chi rolling towards him. Birdie just raises up his hands to protect himself. Fwoosh. Birdie's even pushed backwards at the speed it comes at, causing him to breathe rather heavily at the end, his arms completely stinging from the blow.

"Bloody hell you have a temper!" Birdie explains, "Maybe you want to rethink that? You could still walk away, bloke."

Birdie, instead of charging, just watches for now. Oh yes. For now. Every Birdie has his day.

Maki was about to whistle to Birdie and wave to him in a mocking manner, but it seems he's already noticed her. Looks like her surprise entry has backfired. Oh well, at least she's in the fight now. But there's no need for a flashy entrance now. Instead, Maki's officially in her fighting stance now, but between deciding whether to go after Birdie again or try taking on Tenma for a change, Maki's not sure of what to do. Instead, she simply stands by readily, figuring out the best plan of action.

"Right, I could walk away... When we're on a plane," Tenma replies, rather sarcastically. Sure, he KNOWS Birdie hits pretty damn hard... But that's not the issue here. Tenma's gone up against Kain R. Heinlein, and that guy can teach pretty much anyone a thing or two about hitting hard. "Besides, if you think I'm scared of you, you're dumber than you look," the Gedo gang member continues, rushing headlong over the distance between himself and Birdie, apparently determined to press whatever advantage he might have gotten with his initial attack.

As he gets closer to Birdie, he simply swings his weapon in a diagonal slash upwards, trying to catch the enormous thug across the torso with the wooden blade and its bloody aura. "An' that's /saying something/!"

COMBATSYS: Birdie interrupts Light Strike from Tenma with Murderer Chain.

What did Tenma say. He's not scared of Birdie? Well, it does make sense. Birdie's harmless after all. He's not a large man either. He's just a normal, small black man that came from Britain and got messed up somewhere. He could also be a white dude. It's all relative.

But if Birdie is anything at all, he's not forgiving. And not forgiving at all as Tenma finds out quickly. Even as Tenma rushes headlong into Birdie's awaiting grap, the larger man simply awaiting him, uncoiling his chain as he comes. The weapon is swing, catching the man's chest.

It cuts, burning his chest, but then, magically is thrust back. It's not allowed to go very far, instead, stopped by Birdie as the chain finds itself about Tenma's neck. "Bloke, that bitch Elle never knew what she was doing. But me, I know what I like doing!" Birdie calls, tightening the chain as he hurls Tenma up into the roof of the air plane before pulling back, whipping him about and directly into a pile of hardened, freeze dried airplane food. Birdie just offers Tenma a consoling shit eating grin.

"Had enough, bloke?" Birdie asks as if they hadn't started.

It looks like Birdie's got the upper hand in this high-flying fight, and Maki decides that there's no time like the present to add a little turbulence of her own to the leader. After all, she did defeat him in the Neo League, so why not rub it in a little? After all, Birdie would just love to have some more of Maki to enjoy.

"Attention passengers," Maki shouts as she approaches Birdie in a dash, "Please be advised that we are approaching some turbulence... In the form of Birdie going down!" And with that, she pushes off and literally flies directly at Birdie with her leg extended outward.

Decidedly unforgiving, yes. Tenma gets caught by Birdie's attack, cut across the chest painfully, but he can deal with that... It's the getting caught by the neck that's more problematic, leaving Tenma to get hurled against the ceiling and then crash into some (god damn) airline food. But, Birdie really thinks that'll stop Tenma Kiryuu...?

Straightening up as Maki goes after the goon, Tenma traces a finger over the cut in his chest, catching some of his own blood... And then he licks it off of his finger, flashing an equally shit-eating grin in return, red blood running between his teeth highlighting the white.

"You wish," is Tenma's entire response, before he springs at Birdie, dashing over the backs of comfy first-class airline seats, and when he gets close slashing with his bokken again; a quick, vicious downard slash, the blade twisting around at the 'bottom' of the motion and then slashing back UP, a shallow V-shaped attack.

COMBATSYS: Birdie endures Maki's Hassou Kyaku.

Maki's attempt to strike Birdie works wonders. She hits him with her kick perfectly, and as she recovers from the impact, leaping to the side, she grins. "Ladies and gentlemen," She says in a now-mocking voice, "We are clear of our current turbulence... but stand by for more possible." She grins to herself as she gets back into her fighting position.

Birdie going down?! Birdie's not going anywhere! Even as Maki calls, Birdie's already on top of it, even as the kicks slam into him, casing Maki to leap towards the side afterwards. Still, Birdie just pays attention for the moment, even letting the kick send him flying.

Which comes in handy as he slams against the wall of the air plane, causing mush of the air plane to shake and feel inward turbulence.

But now, Birdie's throwing himself fully into it. Even as Tenma calls and gets back up, blood and everything, Birdie just grins. "Maybe I do bloke, maybe I don't." Even as Tenma springs forward, Birdie springs back, the vicious downwards slash, followed by the up meating nothing.

However, Birdie does leave Tenma a present. Below his feet, Tenma may very well find the chain among his legs a smiling, happy thing. Meanwhile, Birdie tugs, aiming to get a grip.

If he does catch a Tenma, well, he'll have to deal with being flung into the worst thing ever! The first class hot tub.

Yes that. Horrible.

COMBATSYS: Birdie successfully hits Tenma with Bandit Chain.

Still picking on Tenma, are you Birdie? Well, Maki doesn't like that one bit. Maki doesn't like bullies in the least bit, namely since this isn't high school or anything like that. This is a plane specifically selected for an up-in-the-air battle. But, if Birdie wants to turn back the clocks to high school, then Maki's more than happy to oblige.

Maki just so happens to find a plate of mystery meat, artificial mashed potatoes, and wax looking green beans, a typical air meal. And something you'd see at a high school. So that's why Maki tosses it at Birdie after whistling at him and yelling, "FOOD FIGHT!"

Well, there's something Tenma never though he'd see from Birdie, as the big man completely avoids the attack sent his way. In fact, the teenager looks pretty much completely dumbfounded by this turn of events, leaving him rather vulnerable as he gets caught by that chain and hurled away... Landing with a violent splash right in that selfsame hot tub, much of the water getting driven out by the impact.

Ugh.

"Heh," chuckles Tenma, as - looking rather damp - he pokes his head out from the half-emptied tub. "Guess I should've taken you seriously from the start, huh?" the youth wonders, rather rhetorically all things considered, suddenly driving his bokken into the floor of the hot tub. For a moment, nothing happens.

Then cracks begin to appear from that point, the water bubbling furiously as energy is released through it, turning from clear into red, red... Blood red, really.

And then, the hot tub EXPLODES out from around Tenma, the rush of water turned bloody chi careening towards Birdie full force, apparently trying to wash the poor thug away. "GO TO HELL!!"

COMBATSYS: Maki successfully hits Birdie with Thrown Object.

Birdie explodes! Quite literally actually. Even as Maki hurls everything at it, Birdie's just charging through! It smashes into his body as he goes, sending himself backwards. Infact, it knocks him stupid before Tenma comes at him.

And even when Birdie throws himself forward into Tenma's strike, it really doesn't work for him. The hot tub explodes at Birdie! Burning him in super heated water, Birdie's burning. And not in a good way either. So in an effort to end it all here, Birdie throws himself at Tenma, headfirst with his teeth bared. "HEY! I THINK YOU NEED THIS, BLOKE!" And as such, Birdie 'pecks' with his hair towards Tenma.

PECK PECK.

PECK PECK PECK.

PECK.

Maki's food did the trick, but it's still not stopping Birdie from bullying Tenma. Too bad, too, since Maki was hoping to get a little more action in against Birdie. Instead, it seems he's more after Tenma. But for now, Maki simply decides to stand by and watch what happens before she goes after Birdie again.

COMBATSYS: Maki focuses on her next action.

Ow. Ow, what the hell? What the hell is Birdie /doing/?! Tenma does not appreciate this vicious hair-pecking, so he tries to get out of the way... But he really can't, after everything else. Instead, he gets caught full on, and is the subject of possibly the most bizarre yet extremely painful attack he's ever seen. Indeed, after this the fight is pretty much done for Tenma Kiryuu: Birdie simply hits too hard, and he's had no luck defending the big man's attacks.

So there's only one thing left to do: Go out in style, and maybe take the other guy with him.

"Keh," Tenma half-laughs and half-coughs, having pulled his bokken free from the ruin of the hot tub in the process of getting PECKED. And then, he swings his blade once, in a powerful one-armed slash...

Which if it lands, Tenma follows up with more such attacks, a repeating combination of blows, finishing the whole thing off with a completely superflous HEADBUTT, driving his forehead right into ol' Birdie's face. "GRAAAAAAH-!!"

COMBATSYS: Tenma can no longer fight.

Even as Tenma gets back up, Birdie finds that the man's completely unblockable for now, the slash sending Birdie backwards as he's thrown across the room, sent into the side of the plane where he looks towards Tenma. "You little bastard." Birdie snarls as he bleeds. He did good, but not good enough it seems. He just sits back and lets himself end there.

There's nothing else to do until the ride stops. "Hah...hahaha. Bloke you're a wreck. I thought I was nothing." Birdie snorts, and just lays back. He's pretty much done for now.

COMBATSYS: Birdie takes no action.

"Well, it looks like the turbulence has abruptly ended, ladies and gentlemen," Maki says as she looks over the two combatants, a big grin on her face. "I was so expecting much more, especially from Mister Birdie here," Maki says as she points to Birdie with the toes of her sneaker. "But, that's the way the flight goes." She grins and prepares to make her exit. Though whether it's via parachute or when the plane lands is anyone's guess...

COMBATSYS: Maki has ended the fight here.

Meanwhile, Tenma doesn't have a whole hell of a lot to say. That was... Well, it was short and brutal, wasn't it? Both Tenma and Birdie unloading powerful attacks on each other, to the net result of both of them being unable to continue. The aura around Tenma's wooden sword dissipates as he flops on his back as Birdie is knocked away, and for now the youth just sort of stares at the ceiling.

Mostly he's trying to focus on not thinking about being on a plane right now.
