It's an average SNF when a fighter is forced out of their element by the stipulations placed upon them by the powers that be. This Saturday Night Fight is no different. When the terms of each fighter having to use the other's fighting style was announced, each fighter was put through a crash course. Roberto had the instruction of Taiyo's Fencing club coach. No other teachers were available on short notice.
When Roberto arrives the trademark mesh bag filled with soccer balls is notably absent. If he wasn't going to be using his style, Howard Enterprises should foot the bill for the equipment. Instead Roberto comes in with a cutlass on his left hip. As he looks around he sees a shortened soccer field with nets on both ends and a field littered with soccer balls. Inwardly he can't help but sigh.
This has to be some kind of mockery, but no, she found it to be anything but. Placed in an odd situation, Diana's going to be forced to change things around.
But it's not like Diana isn't going to use this to her best to try some new things. Already 'practicing', the Amazon runs onto the field in more of a jog, batting a ball poorly between her feet as she zigs and zags, attempting to get a feel for it. The soccer balls are all over, this is true, but if she thinks she'll have a good time with simply putzing around, she's got another thing coming.
And so does Howard Enterprises, because they want to see some fighting. Some really good fighting from this, despite the elements and being outside of them. Her blade is .. obvious absent. It makes some of her techniques nigh impossible, and will put her on the poor end of things.
Honestly, it just means the Amazon gets to kick things around, and at this boy, too. Not TOO bad.
Tossing her head back, blue and in large amounts, Diana looks to Roberto. "So, eh, how about we get this started?" She stretches out, clothes rather heavy.. but not actually covering much, flesh all over. This'll be a learning experience, and Diana's always open to those.

There is at least one fighter that isn't too bothered by the premise of that fight. Leona Heidern does not have any sort of rules placed on her other than the usual ones placed on the Chaos Agent in these sort of fights. For the Ikari it is more the general interest at watching two fighters she isn't really familiar with try to handle a situation where they are fighting out of their element. Being able to adapt is the key to being a great fighter, afterall.
The Ikari woman had arrived earlier than even the officals to survey the landscape as well as to get some of her own training in while waiting for the battle to happen before taking a short break. As the battle draws near now the Ikari is already preparing herself while glancing between the two fighters when they are announced. Those dark eyes flick back and forth to study the demeanor of the pair while she uses her dogtags to tie her hair up into a ponytail to keep it in check while battling. If anything it seems at least Diana might be adapting a bit better than Roberto, but she supposes she will see if her assumption is correct once this battle begins.

Roberto nods as he draws his cutlass and gives a fencer's salute to both Leona and Diana before dropping into what seems to be a some what awkward stance. It's fairly obvious that 1 week of preparation probably wouldn't be enough to look anywhere near polished.
"Now that everybody's here. I guess we should get started. En garde." Roberto spends a few moments getting his footwork together before suddenly lunging forward with the cutlass though he doesn't actually slash with the blade. Instead Roberto Miura punches the tip forward aiming a conservative jab to Diana's shoulder before hopping back. Apparently Roberto's only interested in testing the waters right now.

With Roberto's salute, Diana grins over. Maybe he'll provide some decent entertainment, you know? But as he drops into that awkward stance, the amazon of NESTS laughs a bit, smirking as he doesn't really seem .. well, like he's got anything that'll be worth it! But that's just what she sees, at least. He proves he's at least a pretty decent fighter at least as he lunges forwards, the tip scraping against her shoulder as she slides a bit to the side from the assault. It wasn't the worst, but it could have been a direct hit. So she played it safe.
To Leona, Diana takes a good look at. An Ikari warrior, was it? Eh, now that's one that looks the part. Probably a good time to learn what she can do now instead of later, if they ever come at Igniz. "En guarde? You're going by the gentlemans rules and that junk, huh."
A little laugh to herself, she taps the ball before knocking the ball forwards a slight bit.. and then running after it, eventually hitting the ground and sliding, leg first, following the soccer ball.
Does this actually work!? Only time will tell on this one, but it's sure a doozy from the normal way. She's not so good at sliding, but she tries.

It isn't long till the officials give both fighters the go to start the fight. Now is the time to see what fighter is going to have an advantage despite being having to work with a style that is the complete opposite of what they are used to. For now the Ikari stands back to let the two fighters make a few moves to get into the swing of things and get used to their new style. She remains with arms folded and holds back for now despite the officials giving her the go to begin as well.

Roberto's own response seems to be a compromise between his actual style and this new style being forced upon him. When the ball is punched forward Roberto gently steps on top of the soccer ball before rolling it towards the side in a spin move while lowering the flat of the blade between him and her foot and then using the spin dribbling move to deflect the slide tackle with the sword.
He then looks at the soccer ball that is at his feet and gives a quick pass of the soccer ball to her before giving her a sheepish smile. "Sorry. Old habits die hard. Let's try this again."
He takes that fencer's stance once again before lunging. This time with with a powerful though extremely telegraphed slash to Diana's stomach.

As Leona simply looks on, Diana already knows it might just be a rougher time than she had hoped for. But hey, that means both of them might be getting the .. trouble that the Ikari has been sent to give.
Some in just smaller doses, though. But as Roberto steps ONTO the soccer ball, Diana stares a bit, before the slide is deflected with the sword. Kicking off the blade, the soccer ball is passed back to her, before the fencer stance ends up with Roberto lunging straight towards her. She has had plenty of time to see it coming.. but even then, she's careful, slipping out of the way and rolling the ball upwards, kicking it up and over the blade before rolling it forwards on her foot.. and then sending it over towards Roberto.
Of course, with the ball in the air, Diana HAS to follow it, and flipping up after it, she looks down at Roberto for a moment.. before sending herself plus the ball straight down towards Roberto.
"Oh .. no trouble at all!"
Because she's a bit busy trying to plant the ball AND her feet onto Roberto.
With a few strikes being delivered and letting the fighters get warmed up Leona finally seems ready to join in on the fun. She glances between the two fighters once again while trying to decide what one to attack first. Both seem to be handling things well for the the start at least, but knowing the style at least gives them a good way to anticipate attacks.
It is around that Diana comes in at Robert is when Leona also makes her move. She ducks backwards around to get behind the Taiyo soccer star turned fencer hoping he is distracted enough to leave his guard down when she kicks a foot out at the back of his left knee to see how well he handles having to deal with strikes coming at him from both sides.

As Roberto watches as both the soccer ball and come down upon him and two thoughts come to mind. He could either chest trap both soccer ball and Diana or spin around and attempt to Bicycle Kick the both of them. Unfortunately Roberto's responses aren't appropriate for this fight and so he falls back to another option. He thrusts his sword hand upward to catch Diana's attack with the guard of the cutlass and causes a slightly jarring impact on his forearm.
It causes the soccer star stumble backwards right into Leona however the soccer goalie has the presence of mind to lift and turn his leg outward as he catches the kick to his leg on his shin with a grunt before stepping forward to grab Diana by the waist and throwing her down on her back before following up with a quick cut to her side. It's not quite with a fencer's finesse but he's not exactly a fencer either.

As Roberto stumbles towards Leona.. he catches the kick, and then Diana, unable to really see such a thing coming, is suddenly grasped by the waist before being tossed to the ground and stabbed. For what it was, the fencer and Amazon can only think .. this guys somewhat of a wuss, ain't he?
Kicking to her feet rather easily, Diana gets back to her feet as Roberto stays there, rolling her eyes. "Niiice use of the blade." But no blade was used until the end!? A bit bloody, she isn't really bothered at the moment, instead taking the time to run towards Roberto and suddenly grasp out for his leg as she slides, yanking him backwards before rushing forwards and yanking him the other way ... attempting to cause him to collapse.
Could be better, could be worse.
Oh, it's totally soccer too. TIIIMBER!
There is a bit of a nod from the Ikari woman when Roberto does quite well in handling both attacks without any problems at all. She backs off afterwards while he works over Diana with that toss and stab and she gets ready to begin her attack anew. She was actually considering another attack on Roberto, but then her priorities seem to change once Diana decides to move about to try to get behind him and ends up between the Ikari and the Taiyo boy.
For now Leona simply holds her ground while reaching upwards to pluck one of the earrings she is wearing. She then starts to circle around to the right to be out of the way in case any of the wrestling about those two are having come stumbling in her diection. She then gives that earring a casual toss towards Diana. Be it amazon or ground, that earring bursts into a small explosion once it comes into contact with something.

Roberto's legs are taken from under him and he drops to the ground with a dull thud as Diana performs a goalie save on him bringing him to his back. Once again a slight grunt is released from his lips before he pulls himself up to his feet.
It's just in time to see Diana under attack from Leona by way of flying earring, and while he doesn't know what that earring will do but he has a feeling he doesn't want to find out. Instead, Roberto performs another quick thrust before following with a much deeper thrust before hopping back. Probably a good idea to get out of range.

Sliding to her feet, Diana keeps going forwards. What's the problem? There's something there. Diana doesn't realize it until it's too late but..
It's a darn earring. And looking to Leona, who HAD one of those.. oh DAMMIT!
Diana curses in her mind as the thing erupts, arms thrown up but failing to do any good as she's blown away from Roberto's assault, the 'quick' thrust deeper .. and slower than before. But being blown away, the blast is far stronger, and has more force, than Roberto might be able to be ready for.
Simply? She's blown out of the strike, a bit of her own momentum thrown in to keep her from it.
But with her notice, and a bit of a heavier wound than before.. the Amazon takes her time, eyeing up Roberto, trying to anticipate just what might go on. For now? Her best bet is to try and hang back and take a long look at Roberto, and make the next shots count. Her style is focused on it.
Let's see just how well it transfers over to kicking a goal shot, eh?
"You're getting better at least.. but I'm not falling for it." She comments.
She's seen beginners at fencing, even intermediates. There was something up.

In a situation like this, where he knows knows an opponent is hanging back, he'd depend on his signature move to punish people for hanging back. Because of the stipulations, he's not as free to just kick the ball at them. As a result, he has no choice to trust his natural speed.
Roberto stumbles at first before moving in stiffly in once more, his foot work in shambles as he makes his approach to Diana unlike his usual fight foot work as he dribbles a soccer ball appears so different, so graceful. When he comes in he thrusts out the blade again clumsily with a pair of quick jabs hoping his natural speed will be enough to overcome her.

As Roberto stumbles, the foot work odd as he approaches her .. when he comes in and thrusts that blade outwards, Diana is ready this time, and kicking the ball back, slides under the rapier, keeping it at bay as if it was an actual fencing match. Yet when the strike finishes, Diana is already leaping backwards, following the ball.
And why? Because she knows .. something at least. She was watching Roberto, and now it's time for some pay back that he hasn't been able to achieve from before.
The ball, rolling away, is finally stopped as Diana puts a foot on it, and turns around to Roberto. Now.. this isn't a blade... buuuut it's going to have to act like one for the moment, because Roberto will have plenty of time to realize just what's going on. She's eyeing the ball up for a kick.
Unfortunately, when she runs forwards, she slides under it, leaping off the ground, and shoots for the boys weakpoint.. the ball whipping through the air, trying to burn through his defense like some kind of spinning drill.. of a ball!
"Closer.. closer!"
In all honesty Leona is surprised at how the two fighters are handling this situation so well. After the expolosive results of her last attack she decided to hang back and observe some more. That is one of the nice things about the job of a chaos agent. You get to see the skill of various fighters in action while not having to fight them directly.
Of course this fight isn't a good way to judge the overall skill of both Diana and Roberto. They are out of thier element so she isn't getting to see them fighting at their full capacity. It has been enough observing for now and it is time to get back to fighting. Once again she slips around attempting to get to Roberto's blindside while he is dealing with the ball aimed his way from the amazon. She then dashes forward and balls up a hand into a fist as she drives that gloved hand hard into the lower back of Roberto.

Roberto was fortunate in that he was able to take time to turn himself so he could see both women attacking him. The problem is that the soccer star was also put in a situation where he was manuevered between a rock and a hard place. Being forced to decide between the soccer ball hitting him and Leona's fist he decides that he needs to move away from Leona just a bit more. As a result when he hops away from Leona, he finds himself getting drilled in the stomach by the soccer ball and tearing his stance asunder.
Roberto takes a moment to return to his clumsy version of a fencer's stance before carefully inching in before attempting a slash towards the real fencer's shoulder.

It was planned out to an extent. As Roberto is drilled by the soccer ball, Diana watched on. Now that was effective enough, but with Roberto inches forwards, a slash towards her shoulder.. Diana decides it was time to throw herself into a bit of these assaults, using Roberto's somewhat unfamiliarity of the open spots involved in fencing to her advantage.
With Roberto inching, she moves into the strike, the blade slashing her shoulder.. but then instead of finishing, Diana ducks low, legs launching Roberto into the air. It WAS what they wanted, wasn't it? Soccer it is.
With Roberto airborne, she tries to combo it to a point, leaping into the air to knee juggle Roberto, the soccer star, and then give him a good solid kick to the ground.
Landing backwards, a slice of red against her arm, the Amazon grins down to the boy, her 'skirt' ruffling with her as it was blowing all around while she was up there.
Looking to Leona, she expects something from her now, but she spares some glances to Roberto now and again, to be careful.
Back to Leona. "You're from the Ikari, aren't you?" She asks, almost out of nowhere, trying to get her to say something. Maybe reveal something to her while she's got a slight 'break'.
Better than nothing!
Trying to catch Roberto to plant a good strike has been surprisingly harder than she expected. She stumbles just a short distance when Roberto manages to get away from he punch and she watches events unfold showing that Diana seems to be having an easier time adjusting to the stipulations of this fight than the Taiyo star is.
"I am." Those are possibly the first words she has said all day. Certainly they are the first ones said this fight at least. She just never is one to waste words when a fight is going on, but given she is a Chaos Agent she seems a bit more apt to talk just a bit. "I don't believe I am familiar with you, though." With that the Ikari bursts forward while lunging forward towards the taller woman, her hand slashing in an arch and if connecting it cuts both skin and clothing as if she was using a knife despite the fact that she isn't. "You are skilled for being new."
At this point, Roberto is aware enough to know that Diana seems able to see through his own attacks and the fact that she seems to be able to hit him almost at will is a testament to how inexperienced he is with a sword. Roberto is content to remain quiet for the time being and listen to what the women have to say.
While they're talking, Roberto is studying Diana. He has to, after all if it is broken you /need/ to fix it ASAP.
Question is, "Is it too late to fix it?" Roberto's burning spirit may need to answer that question soon.

With Roberto content to remain quiet, he'll notice something alright. She's actively studying Leona, noticing .. a few things actually. The first words confirm the base suspicions she has, but she already knew that. As Leona goes on to continue, the Ikari bursting forwards, her stance suddenly falls back.
That Ikari woman is not simply swinging at her, it's almost a blur with what happens. "That's how the fighting world works." She exclaims, a bit serious as the hand slashing forwards much like a knife. She'll need to pull something pretty amazing to get out of this. And that is just what she does.. the arm being stopped by another arm, Diana's arms holding back the slashing arc, preventing it from finishing.
"I'm not new.. just active darling."
And using that arm in the air, and Leona, she kicks off the ground, aiming for one of the balls on the ground as she decides, at this moment, she's going to put everything she has into the next assault to see .. just if .. Roberto can really weather what she can do.
"Alright.. seventh inning stretch wasn't it?" She doesn't know soccer. She knows kicking, and kicking balls. It's not unexpected. To prepare for this? She took a drink and watched a soccer game, falling asleep halfway.
But this? This is completely different. Landing infront of Roberto.. nothing will seem to happen, even with the speed at which she falls. But it's not from before. It's from behind. And Roberto will notice this, perhaps too late. Silvery blue spikes race through the ground like they were running a marathon, and Roberto is between that.. and Diana, swinging her foot forwards as if she was going to send Roberto FLYING like a soccer ball.

Roberto doesn't quite turn around in time and he finds that there are spikes rapidly traveling towards him and he can see the Amazon rushing towards him. He braces for dear life as attempts to put his cutlass between her foot and him and he's partially successful. The blade is there but Diana actually manages to kick through it shattering the blade before continuing its course right for his balls.
Roberto rises to his feet as he considers giving it one last go but he looks at his broken blade then looks at the soccer balls being provided for Diana's use. He glances at them each a couple more times before Roberto utters more to himself than anyone else, "I choose honor." After that, Roberto drops the remnants of his cutlass before falling to the ground once more.

As Roberto finds out what's going on, Diana was already moving in.. it's just too ...
And then the Amazon realizes just WHERE the foot got to, and as Roberto stands, she's actually pretty surprised. With Roberto standing after THAT? But it's more of a short moment, with Roberto dropping the remnants of the broken blade before collapsing. "Well, pretty good kid." She responds, kicking one of the balls out of the way as she strolls over. This went far better than she had planned, but the blue haired researcher doesn't have much to say about it all.
Looking over to where Leona was, probably having left since the match had been somewhat declared, she turns again to the boy. "It was some good practice. Thanks for that. Sorry 'bout the kick." She responds, looking down. "Wasn't aiming there, but eh. You look you can take it." She begins to walk away, kicking any soccer balls she sees out of the way as she moves on, rolling her shoulders, not bothering to fix her dress.
"Honor. Huh. I wonder what that was about."
Guess he never saw the BLAZING STRIKERS in action, or first hand! But then, they all had their own limitations.
She liked the kicking too.
The fans in the stadium cheer, and boo respectively, that she ends up winning, and that the favorite was defeated. But that's SNF for you. It's many things, BUT MOSTLY VIOLENT.
