Description: Three students fight upon the mountain top on international television. Skills are showcased, special effect abound. In the end, none come down the mountain on their own! (Tie Match)
Situated on the border of Tibet and Nepal is Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world above sea level. If you want to stand on top of the world, this is where you go, though don't forget to bring ample climbing gear and oxygen tanks with you. People come here from all over the world to test their might against the will of the mountain, to see if they can make it to the top. So what better place than this to pit some of the strongest people in the world against each other, to see who among them can best fight against the mountain and themselves. Luckily for the contenders, the fight isn't to be held at the summit of the mountain. Not only would that be exceedingly dangerous even for them, it's probably not even possible to get the necessary camera gear required to film a fight up there.
So instead of the summit, the fight is going to be held at the Advanced Base Camp. Still a nice long climb, but not so much that the Saturday Night Fight officials will have to take their word on who was victorious. Right now it's bitterly cold out, and to make things worse there's a bit of a storm rolling in. High winds whip around hard enough to make most people wish they could just leave, or maybe hide in a survival tent. But the show must go on!
The camera men seem to be all set up, and Kiyoko is... well, she's miserable. She's having a hard enough time just moving around in this ridiculous cold weather, and the fact that she can hardly breathe on top of it is only compounding the problem. She's wearing her Tai-Chi uniform, but she's also got a huge winter coat on. And if the organizers think she's going to take it off, they're crazy. Heck, the best, and perhaps most cruel, method of fighting here might be to simply try and disrobe her opponents- who the hell would face this challenge without warm clothing? "This is ridiculous," she states, mostly to herself.
After his experience on "Fightyat!", Haru Izanami almost didn't sign up for Saturday Night Fight a second time. The sound beating he received had very little to do with that decision; rather, the Gedo senior wasn't exactly sure he was willing to have yet more food and random objects thrown at him by a screaming Dutchman who only barely understood English. But then the check came, and it had a couple more decimal points to it than Haru expected it might for someone who lost. So he picked up the phone, and he called. Eyes on the prize, he told himself... even if the prize was behind a gauntlet of thrown tomatoes and Nerf hammers.
However, that one week of experience meant that Haru -- whose name ironically means "spring" -- was prepared for just about anything. Compared to "Fightyat!", he mused as he sat in the truck riding toward the foot of the mountain, fighting on the slopes of Everest would be an interesting challenge and nothing more. For someone with his unique fighting style, after all, there are some unique concerns that require adjusting... wind speed, for instance, and footing. However, if there's one thing he's good at doing in combat, it's adjusting.
Thanks to the bitter cold, Haru can't afford to keep his class jacket around his waist per normal; interestingly, it's way too large for him, and the end result looks more like a high-necked trenchcoat than a typical jacket. A dark blue scarf is wrapped around his neck, but thankfully even a lightweight like him has some degree of resilience to the cold, as most fighters do, so the heavy parkas and insulated suits that mere mortal mountain climbers require up here aren't strictly necessary. He's currently standing to the side near the cameramen as they set up, holding a steaming mug of something with both hands and sipping it slowly. Fight hasn't started yet... might as well keep the cold at bay as long as possible.
Kazuki had no idea that this was coming.
Still, here he is, bundled up in a heavy jackets, gloves and a hat. He looks around, bopping his head to some music blaring in his headphones. He notes his surroundings, a slight frown on his face.
It was not his intention to be here, and definitely not on this show; his parents signed him up. They said it was to further his training. He sighs slightly as he slides his headphones back and shuts off his music player. He gets a listen for all of the music that is still playing to his ears. Some snazzy j-pop from Mizuki's direction, and something else from the other Gedo High student. Kazuki frowns. The sound from the other boy... doesn't sound quite right; however, he can dig it. It has a nice beat to it.
Kiyoko's starting to learn more about this business. Those little red lights on the cameras? That means they're on, and that means this show can get underway anytime now. Is there an announcer? She doesn't even know; she doesn't even care. She doesn't know either of the other fighters, nor does she know anything about them other than what can be gained simply by looking at and studying them. She hugs her arms around herself a little and shivers as an especially strong gust of wind blows by.
She shakes her head a little and walks over towards the two guys, waving them over. Once she's close enough to be heard over the wind she looks between them. "I don't mean to be rude or anything, but can we start? The cameras are already recoding so I don't think it'll be a problem." She then adds after a moment, "I don't know about you two but I want to do this and get out of here. The wind's just getting worse and I don't want to get stuck up here if we don't have to."
Whatever it is that's in that mug, it's doing wonders for keeping Haru from having the same complaints as Kiyoko... at least for the time being, anyway. He would only admit it under duress, but it is in fact homemade chicken noodle soup that Haru himself made at the hotel and brought in a thermos with him. He heated it to an absurd temperature beforehand, so that as he sips it now, the biting wind of the Himalayas has chilled it to 'drinkable' rather quickly. Finishing, he hands the mug to a production assistant and then walks into the 'staked out' area for the fight... one of the more even spaces on the long trip up to the top of the world, but probably not as accomodating as, say, a tennis court.
Curiously, he seems to walk around the field a bit, as if testing the air, and then once he seems to find a spot he likes, turns against the wind and flicks out his arm. On cue, a gunmetal grey and black yoyo snaps out from his hand, riding the wind and then snapping back into Haru's hand... perhaps a little sluggishly compared to normal, but not so much that he can't use the thing. He nods once in satisfaction, then finally turns to Kiyoko, noticing Kazuki only out of the corner of his eye.
"Fine by me," he says evenly, brushing off his jacket and adjusting the blue scarf.
Kazuki nods slightly at Kiyoko. She needs to relax, the young man thinks as he glances at the two other fighters. He smiles a bit, however, when both agree to a fast fight.
"That sounds like a good idea. It's no fun up here. Too cold," Kazuki says amicably. Depsite the cold, the young man smiles as he simply slides his feet to a more comfortable stance before starting to listen to the winds.
Hopefully, this will go quickly; he is bothered by the sounds he is getting from Haru.

Good, that's settled then. Kiyoko gives them both a smile since they're willing to go along with her, and moves on over to the part of the ascension trail they're supposed to be fighting on. It's definitely a weird surface to fight on; not as soft as you'd expect snow to be, and a bit slippery because of that. It's going to make fancy footwork a real pain in the neck. "Alright," she states, "If we're all ready, let's get things rolling!"
Now that the fight is definitely on, she loosens up a little, the faster beating of her heart is enough to warm her up a bit, and knowing she has to be on her toes is getting a little adrenaline in her system as well. The next task is to pick her target for the moment. And that is going to be... Haru, simply because he looks way too comfortable. Lets see if she can't crack his facade!
Her mind made up, she approaches. It's almost comical; she can move pretty quick normally but the wind and footing are both horrible. And so she 'runs' up to the taller Gedo student, and promptly rolls into a handstand, proving that she does retain some mobility even in these conditions. Once she's up her legs reach out, seeking the yoyo wielding fighters neck so that she can try to hook her ankles behind his head and then reverse her momentum in order to pull him off of his feet and slam him down onto his back, her fingers digging into the icy snow so she can keep enough balance to pull it off.

Apparently, it's not in the cards for Haru this week. At Gedo, Adira already pounded him into the dirt with no apparent effort required, and that was in relatively normal conditions. In the biting cold, snow, and wind, visibility and quickness of motion are at a premium. Thus while Haru thinks to make it so Kiyoko can't get quite the grip she wants, instead he does the exact opposite: he moves in such a position so that rather than blunting her attempted throw, when he falls backward it is onto a jutting chunk of the mountain.
The visual is pretty impressive; not exactly the beefiest of individuals, the Gedo senior literally bounces off the ground, back arched, and then smacks back down into the mountain, thankfully not on top of a spear of stone that could have done serious damage even to a fighter. As it is, he doesn't get back up; the impact knocked the wind from him for sure, and his differently-colored eyes are wide with the effort of trying to get oxygen back into his lungs. If Kiyoko was concerned that he's too 'comfortable', then she probably won't have that problem anymore.

Kaz waits for a moment, allowing the sounds and flow to reach his ears as he considers his first move.
He supposes that there should SOME show of school solidarity. He calmly walks up to Kiyoko, watching her movement for just the right moment to grab her by the front of the jacket. He focuses his chi for a moment as he pulls up, allowing a blast of wind to assist him in taking the girl off of her feet. The wind carries her up far enough to force Kaz to extend his arms before cutting out, allowing Kazuki to muscle into the throw just a bit more...

Wow! That worked out a lot better than she anticipated. It also looks to her like Haru isn't so great at getting slammed to the ground despite that- something she's going to have to keep in mind. There's not too much time to contemplate it though, as she has to get back up to her feet; especially with Kazuki walking her way.
The black haired Gedo student grabs her jacket once she's up, and she quickly tries to respond by stepping forward and slamming a fist into his stomach. Only the step forward is exactly what he needs to pull her right off her feet, the blast of energized wind catching her completely off guard, sending her even harder to the ground than she expected. She's pretty hearty against this type of stuff, but you sure wouldn't know it by the impact she makes. The impact causes her to cough a couple of times once she starts moving again, and she slowly, gingerly tries to get back up. "Oh, jeeze. It's going to be a pain fighting someone like you with such bad footing."
It's hard to grit your teeth when they're also chattering because of the cold, but Haru manages it all the same. Showing an un-Gedo-like moment of not pouncing on someone who shows a moment of weakness, Kazuki appears instead to go for Kiyoko, and that suits Haru just fine. It's not the first time in the past few days he's had the wind so fully knocked from him after that kind of maneuver... and perhaps because of the similarity -- and his lingering anger at Adira Sen'ou -- the yoyo-using fighter dislikes Kiyoko from the start.
But Kazuki is, so far, untouched... and that's not something Haru feels like letting continue. Curling and uncurling his fingers, a bit like a gunslinger, he takes a deep breath and then all but dashes to the side, almost like a hop, so that the wind is to his back... and with a flick of the wrist one yoyo snaps out, looking to pop Kazuki in the face. It stings as much as any punch from another fighter of equal strength might... with the considerable advantage of reach behind it.

Kazuki pivots from releasing Kiyoko on the ground. His eyes narrow as the fight music seems to shift, turning to see the yo-yo incoming.
He shufflesteps two steps back, raising his hands, one over the other, and flaps them downward almost as if waving a giant fan at the third year.
A gust of energized wind sweeps past Kazuki and knocks the yo-yo aside even as it continues on towards Haru!
Ok Kiyoko, time to get back into this. She can't just sit around when the others are battling it out, after all. And besides, Kazuki just gave her what's for, and now she owes him for it. Luckily for her, Haru just grabbed his schoolmate's attention, and the latter now has his back turned to her. That's a pretty dangerous thing to do, even if he's proven that he can put the hurts on her real badly if he gets a hold of her.
So while he's sending that huge gust of wind to blow away the yoyo, she's getting a good long look at him. Once she has a good idea of what he's doing, the takes a step forward and holds up her right arm, swinging it around in a wide arc and trying to jam it as hard as she can manage into his carotid artery, and hold it there. If she hits it not only should it hurt like a bitch, but it should also dump his blood pressure to the floor; not something you want in a low oxygen environment like this one!

Even as the blast of air is headed his way, Haru is on the move, yoyo snapping back into his hand. After all, it might be chi-produced... or whatever fighters call their various elemental energies... but it's *already* like being in a wind tunnel up here. In the Gedo senior's mind, how much worse could it possibly be? Charging through the attack with one arm up to his face -- much as one would do heading into a high wind -- he dives at Kazuki. It's not easy to power through; a combination of the real wind and the chi-created wind slows him down some, slicing across his skin painfully.
It's not enough to stop him, though, and ducking in low, Haru snaps out with another yoyo at Kazuki, this time toward his stomach. If he can connect with it, the force of the blow doesn't push outward, but instead pulls *upward*... and is followed by an alternating succession of upward-aimed blows with a yoyo in EACH hand, the final blow a wild swing that will knock him out and away. Perhaps Kiyoko's tandem assault will give him the opening he needs after being pushed back...

Kazuki moves quickly, whipping an arm up to intercept the yo-yo with his forearm. The young man winces a bit as the projectile smacks against him with a meaty sounding impact.
He has no time for complaining or complimenting, however. This is full-speed randori as far as he is concerned, and Kiyoko is still coming at him. He twists, catching the incoming arm with one hand even as he loops an arm under Kiyoko's armpit. He twists at the torso, and throws Kiyoko over his hip, planting one hand on the ground after she is loose to gasp for air.
Kiyoko's pressure point attack ends up being a huge mistake, because as sneaky as she was about attacking from behind, Kazuki still knew she was there and it was executed like molasses. She'd definitely be sitting pretty had he missed his catch of her arm, but instead she's grabbed, lifted, and slammed back down to the ice. "Ghck!"
Doing her best to keep from slipping, she drags herself back up to her feet. She's panting a little from the weak air here, but she seems to be in a lot better shape that way than the younger of the Gedo students. Now if only her body would quit hurting... From the looks of it she's going to keep pressing him, too. Mainly because he's made her look like a terrible fighter so far, and she needs to correct that. If she wants to do something other than play kingmaker, she needs to make this a close fight between the three of them, not just the two others.
So she tries the one thing she hasn't attempted so far, turning to face Kazuki, backing off a few steps while making sure she's not getting too close to Haru, and swinging her hand in a quick vertical motion, green chi flowing along the appendage and causing a crescent of energy to form in the air, which quickly shoots off towards Kazuki. So he can handle her when she's trying to hit him; can he handle her like this?
Hm. Apparently both of his opponents are users of that ineffable power that Haru knows so little about. Whatever energy he can use comes from some place he knows very little about; it works entirely on instinct, rather than the on-call uses these two seem to be throwing about. Taking a deep breath and reassessing the situation seems to be worth it, and that's exactly what Haru does. Attacking Kiyoko isn't his style, considering she seems the worse off of the three, though not by a large margin... and watching how Kazuki deals with her attack is worth something tactically as well. Thus he doesn't attack, and instead retreats a few steps, making a rough triangle out of the three of them on this cold ledge, his breath steaming in the air in front of him as he tries his best to regulate it, lungs still burning from the previous shock to the pulmonary system.
"And yet," he murmurs aloud, in an even tone, "still better than the game show."

Well there we go! Finally Kiyoko is able to have some kind of impact on Kazuki, and from the looks of it it's a pretty good one at that. Mission accomplished. Now she's only got a normal three way fight on her hands, which is no picnic. The only problem is... she really isn't sure what to do! Despite her energetic attack, Kazuki /still/ seems to be holding up the best. To make matters worse, Haru seems ready for anything. She'd prefer to just focus on one or the other, but doing so would probably end up getting her into a world of hurt when the other came around and beaned her from behind like she tried to do to Kazuki.
In the end, she decides just to change targets to Haru. Besides, nothing says she has to go and try and beat him down unmercifully. She can put pressure on him without leaving herself completely exposed. So she leaves the gasping Gedo student behind and slowly moves up to the more composed one. She then realizes she probably looks pretty silly doing so, and lets out a little laugh. "Hiya!" What follows next is a simple, efficient heel kick to the knee.

It would seem, however, that Haru was ready for Kiyoko to switch targets. Whether it's due to simply a good guess or working out of variables is anyone's guess, but when the tai chi-using girl comes for him, the Gedo senior is prepared. The ice is slippery, the wind is high, and the air is thin; no time to be running around trying to evade things. The best he can do is manage a sort of an aggressive defense, much as he tried and failed to do with Adira on the Gedo rooftops not too long ago. Even as Kiyoko moves toward him, a yoyo is slipping into his hand, mostly concealed in his right palm...
When she actually makes the kick, that's his chance to strike. The leg is intercepted by, of all things, the yoyo in his hand lashing out and wrapping around it, like a whip or snare. It can't stop the kick's forward momentum, but it can pull the kick *upward*, having it impact Haru's stomach, where he can brace for the blow a little better. It also, however, leaves Kiyoko in his clutches. He doesn't yell, conserving his breath for what's to come; instead he heaves with all his might and pulls the girl into a circular vertical orbit, like a ferris wheel. One rotation, then a change of direction to clockwise... one more rotation, then another change of direction to counterclockwise, and at the bottom of the arc, Haru snaps the yoyo into his palm and lets the snare go, sending Kiyoko flying like an underhand ball toss.
And now it's Haru's turn to put his hands to his knees, breathing deeply. That... took some effort.
Kazuki watches Haru and Kiyoko throw down on one another, the winds telling him all about it. He considers for a moment, before deciding to take the fight to Kiyoko.
However, his approach is not hurried, or even considered purposeful. He simply waits for Kiyoko to come down from Haru's toss, and throw her still further with a quick grab and a quicker pivot-throw.

Nope, that wasn't right at all. It looks like even attempting to attack Haru was going to end up with her getting punished for it. Kiyoko's kick ends up getting snagged by a yoyo, which is then used to spin her around in the air crazily before being hurled bodily away. Even worse, it looks like she was thrown towards Kazuki, who's decided to make her impact even harsher by picking her up and tossing her away. That, however, she's simply having none of. He makes his hold, but as he begins to throw her she manages to break his grip, twisting free.
And what does she do once she is free? Escape! Well, momentarily, anyway. Right now she's going to simply get some distance between herself and the two fighters. She /really/ needs to get herself back into this, and running into the waiting arms of another cross up is not the way to do it. Her eyes flick between the two fighters, who she seems to be glaring at.

Generally speaking Haru isn't one to pick on the weak, or people at a disadvantage; one wonders why he's at Gedo, given that fact. Still, he sees Kiyoko much the worse for wear after her assault, and resolves not to pursue her for the time being. She afforded him the same courtesy after the crushing blow at the start of the match, after all; it's the least he can do in return. Still, that leaves Kazuki, and the Gedo senior isn't 100% sure what he should do against his kohai, who's demonstrated energy abilities Haru isn't terribly effective at dealing with, and counterattack skills that he isn't exactly sure he wants to test out.
Thus he opts for his attack from before: he braces himself, turns into the wind, and slings out a yoyo in a wide arc for Kazuki's head. It's slow, from a combination of fatigue and having very little visibility... but the semi-projectile is moving *with* the wind, giving it ridiculous acceleration; even with Haru's relatively minor physical strength, that's going to hurt a *lot* if it connects. And of course, the wide motion of his arm also helps to mask the fact that he's slipping a second yoyo into his other palm, even if he's not doing anything with it...

There, Kiyoko got exactly what she wanted- a moment of rest. She didn't use it to catch her breath or anything like that, though. No, she instead used it to zero in... on Haru. Why Haru? Because she really didn't appreciate being thrown around like a toy with that yo-yo of his, and she's been feeling particularly fickle over the past few days. It did serve her well in that Neo League fight against Aranha, even if she didn't manage to beat him.
Right now she's warmed up, somewhat angry, and ready to kick some ass. "Alright, let's go!" She leans forward and takes two steps of a dash towards Haru and then bends down, pulling her legs under herself so that she can spring forward and try to land on the taller boy's chest with both feet. If she manages to connect she's going to twist around and try and snag his neck between her legs like she did the last time. Except instead of just flipping over and slamming him to the ground once she's going to use the impact to rebound /back/ into the air and repeatedly bashing him into the hard-packed snow, twisting around to make sure his face doesn't get spared any abuse.

She's moving rather quickly, that one; you don't need to have any sort of special power to tell she's out for blood, though even as he's bracing himself to make some sort of defensive effort, Haru has to wonder why and has very little to offer in the way of explanation. Grimacing, he sets one foot back against the rock and tries his best to get a grip on Kiyoko's body as she attempts her complex throw. It doesn't do much good, however; in the end he's slammed repeatedly... particularly on his face, which the tai chi-using fighter seems inexplicably drawn to damage.
Rolling to the side, Haru manages to pull himself standing and runs a gloved hand across his face, red spattering into the white snow from his freshly-bleeding nose, the one Adira almost broke earlier in the week. That's gonna take a second to bounce back from, and so he doesn't press the assault on either fighter for the moment. However, his face is placid as he turns to Kiyoko with a raised eyebrow, dispassionately curious about her sudden bout of berserker violence. "Feel better?" he asks, nonchalantly.

Kazuki hears more than sees Haru regaining himself. He reckons that the yo-yo maestro will prove the more difficult of the two opponents, and decides to go from there. He calmly slides in close to his sempai, and reaches for the front of that over-sized jacket. A gust of chi-induced wind to fling Haru upward, followed by a sharp tug downward.
Kazuki will not stop there, however, using that ki-wind to fling the older lad higher into the air with a slight spin.
The brutal series of attacks is over, and Kiyoko gets back to her feet, probably faster than Haru does after taking all that punishment. As he looks over to her with a bloody nose she thinks for a moment, then nods. "Yep! Quite a bit better, actually." She does, however, suddenly feel bad about what she just did, because Kazuki is suddenly looking to capitalize on the situation and put Haru out of the fight for good. She only wanted her payback, not completely destroy his chances of victory!
There's no helping that now, and so she must look forward. Right now she could probably completely blindside Haru while Kazuki is sending that crazy gust of wind at him, but she was just being vindictive, not vicious. Instead she switches opponents yet again, and plods off in the snow towards Kazuki while he's preoccupied. Once she's close green chi begins to glow around her hands, and she begins taking swipes at the young man, slashing at him with fast circular motions that don't intend to even hit, but instead just get close enough to let the chi do it's work.

He doesn't have the energy or the breath to keep this going much longer, so when Kazuki appears in his field of vision he can't do much more than squint his eyes against the cold and wind and try his damndest to divert that energy away from him through force of will. It doesn't work; he is once again tossed about like a rag doll, landing heavily and bonelessly after the second spin, face down on the dirt. When he does manage to force himself up, his teeth are chattering and his face is pale with cold and blood loss; a line of red is swiped across the snow for a second time. Again, he wasn't up to the task. Just like last time. Just like Adira.
Engendering this response may not have been a wise move.
Even as he stumbles to his feet, barely standing, a deep cobalt blue glow starts to flicker in the air around Haru, like the reflection off snowflakes seen through a sapphire lens. "Glad to heart it," he says to Kiyoko thickly. But it doesn't help his rage and frustration... and suddenly the air around him is FILLED with knife-sized, glass-like shards of sapphire blue power that surround his body like a blizzard, and then look to spear Kazuki all at once from every possible angle. Well, the boy got too close, and he pissed Haru off... while the attack is slowed by Haru's pending unconsciousness, it's none the less vicious for it.
Afterwards, eyes fluttering shut, he topples backward into the snow.

The manuever of Kazuki's throw left his back to Haru as the sempai landed. That left him totally vulnerable. The sound of Haru's last gambit screams in his ears, the mishappen sound confusing him enough that the attack shreds his body. He glances over his shoulder at Kiyoko.
"Ougi. Gyakuten Nage," he murmurs as he grips the girl's coat. His arms spin blindingly fast and send the girl back the way she came much faster than she approached.
The chi, however, still does its job, and slams the young man to the ground. He does not rise again, either.
The purple haired girl looks completely shocked as the blue energy appears and almost completely destroys Haru in a matter of moments. She doesn't abort her attack though, seeing that he is, in fact, still standing despite the incredible amount of pain he must be in right now. In fact, there's even the slimmest of chances that she can pull a win out of this now...
But then it's taken away instantly, as Kanzuki reacts to her presence by picking her up and tossing her away just as easily as Haru had before. But... at least she made her mark on him, right? She's definitely going to have a lot of learning to do when she sees the footage of this fight. But for now she's just going to take a nice nap on the snow.
There were some medics that came along with the filming crew, right?
COMBATSYS: Kiyoko takes no action.
