SNF 2008.01 - Gunther vs Jaeger, CA: Drake

Description: Scientist versus Rooooooobooooooot. Wait, the lyrics can't change that much to make it cool. It is a battle of who has the better technology. NESTS or Shadaloo. Bombs, beartraps and SCIENCE! :)X (Winner: Gunther)

What a wonderful place to have a fight in the name of SCIENCE. Of course given the insane amount of money spent on delicate equipment the fight itself shall be going on outside of the building here in Illinois. It has been many a year since one of these fighters has done anything like this and that is perhaps why Gunther is feeling a bit excited about it all. The modifications he has made seem to have passed all tests and now it is really time to put his adjustments through the proper field test.

The location just seems to be an extra treat for the scientist since he spent most of the time before the fight in the building talking with his fellow professors and scientists about almost every subject they could think of along with of course particle acceleration. That is probably why the rather lanky scientist is all smiles when he is introduced before the crowd gathered for this fight.

His opponent is not someone he is familiar with, but he did watch some tapes to get an idea. He really seems like a good subject for this sort of field test at least. Each step the German makes ends with a clang as each boot hits the ground. Of course there is also the assorted rattling heard under the trenchcoat he wears as he rolls up the sleeve to reveal the metallic hand and forearm before metal gives way back to flesh around the elbow area. "Time for a good fight I would hope." he says in a rather cheerful mood while pushing his glasses back up on the bridge of his nose with his real hand.

COMBATSYS: Gunther has started a fight here.

After an extensive search through NESTS databases and his own formidable memory core, there is no visible record of anyone named 'Gunther'. That, however, doesn't mean Jaeger underestimates the situation by any means. Just getting into visual range reveals that the man is a cyborg of some kind, and that's enough to put the NESTS droid on immediate notice.

There's a certain reliability of standard physical strength and chi. For the most part, people manifest both in extremely predicable ways. Chi is largely limited to the standard blasts or force or cutting edges, or are used in addition to physical movements to enhance a person's battle performance. As a result, which Chi gives a lot of people additional power, it doesn't grant a lot of extra flexibility. Most of the targets he's been assigned have conformed to that observation.

However, cybernetics introduces the unorthodox. Hidden projectile weapons, additional limbs, new weapons and unusual abilities often come with the addition of gadgetry. That enough is something to give Jaeger some level of warning. that this fight is going to be 'unusual'.

The second thing is the concept of 'chaos agent'. While he's acted as one before, the idea of a combatant that can't be fought due to an arbitrary rule is strange, if not outright insane. These are the toughts that occupy Jaeger's odd, alien mindset as he disembarks from the van that pulls up in front of the graceless goncrete and glass laboratory.

No flashy entrance for him. The machine checks his systems once, and the technicians in the van give him a thumbs up. He's cleared for engagement, and he steps forward walking between the cars. Jaeger's steps aren't ponderous as one might expect from a combat robot. There's a certain alacrity to his footsteps as he hurries to the combat area. As Gunther's already there, he nods once.

"Quite the day for carnage and bloodshed, I agree. I suspect that this shall be interesting at the very least."

Domino - or Drake, as the darn fight billed him (and do believe he's going to raise Hell over that!) - arrives at his own casual, leisurely pace, gloved hands stuffed into the pockets of his own white trench coat. Shades settled over his eyes, expression placid, it would look as though he's already crossed over to the Dark Side. He doesn't try to play up any cameras, any spectators - nothing of that sort. A little different for him, but something is clearly already weighing on the young model's mind.

When he reaches the borders of the fighting zone, as it were, Domino nods stoutly to the taller guy, Gunther. To Jaeger, however, Domino spits on the ground. Hardly refined as he usually is, but he thinks that makes the statement clear enough. And with the 'greetings' out of the way, Domino lifts his hands from his pockets to fold his arms tightly over his chest. His usually charming face is twisted into more of a scowl for the time being, and he seems to be waiting.

COMBATSYS: Drake has joined the fight here.

So this fellow is Jaeger. The German tilts his head for a moment while sizing up his opponent for the night. He does seem like a rather bloodthirsty fellow. Oh well, he supposes that can't be helped. "Hmm, I don't know about that, but I guess we shall see how the night unfolds!" he seems rather jovial overall as he taps lightly at a few of the buttons on his metallic arm. Before too long there is a sound of something powering up rather loudly for a moment before going silent again as the exoskeleton comes online.

He rolls his shoulders a few times and takes a few test steps to get used to wearing the damn contraption again. It has been some time since he actually has done much with the invention. "Ahh, just like old times." he says in a rather wistful manner before reaching into his trench to dig about. "Now where did I...."

The scientist fiddles about and suddenly there is a rather large rattle of a chain falling loose and the man pulls free...well....it can only really be described as a beartrap. Lord knows why Gunther has such a thing in his coat as he fiddles with opening it. "Well sir, let us start!" He declares as he grips the chain and twirls it about overhead before releasing the massive trap towards Jaeger with a 'hup!' in declaration of attack.

COMBATSYS: Jaeger blocks Gunther's Beartrap.

Drake's appearance is noted. 'Chaos agents' still don't really register with him properly. Whatever disgust the wrestler might have for him is lost on his mechanical mind. After all, a fight is a fight. Winning and losing are all things that are part of the process. Without anything approaching Asimov's famous 'Three Laws', Jaeger has no idea what the fine line between lethal and non-lethal force is. He just guesstimates the best he can.

But that train of thought is derailed the second the clank of chains reach his ears, or what serves as them. Unusual to say the least. A beartrap isn't the usual sort of thing that you plan for in a fight, and Jaeger's predictions that this battle is going to get strange very quickly.

The machine whips his hand forward, and the jaws of the bear trap clamp down on hardened ablative armor, which the NESTS droid shakes off. A few plates come with it, but none of Jaeger's vital systems have been damaged. Instead, the droid lets the shut beartrap clatter to the ground, and places a heavy metal foot on it. Then, whith a whir and click, the machine's arms are already reconfiguring. His right arm slides back and expands, revealing several micro missile ports, while the other unfolds into an elaborate grenade launching system. Rather than having a more escoteric weapon set, Jaeger's creators saw fit to go for more boring things like rockets and bombs.

"A thrilling first gambit!" crows the machine. Bloodthirsty or not, he seems overjoyed at the new experience that Gunther's produced, and he takes aim. "I can only hope that I can present to you an equal challenge!" And with that, the machine blossoms into a storm of shot and shell. The rockets, each no bigger than a pencil, roar out from one arm in a drunken swarm while silvery grenades fly like mortars above head in a miniature reinactment of Normandy on D-day.

Domino... stays his ground. His expression even remains the same. Neither combatant seemed to really regard him with anything more than a glance, and really, the model is fine with this. Even as Gunther opens things up with a most unorthodox assault, it warrants only a quirk of an obsidian eyebrow. Huh. Well, this guy has some style points for using things like that, he'll give it to him.

But the focus of the fight is off of Domino. Even Jaeger's response to the attack, with no regards for the 'chaos agent', as he's been labeled. The rocket swarm gets fairly widened eyes, but it isn't directed at -him-. So he stays in position, arms still tightly folded, still scowling at the fight now in progress.

But of course, this is fine and dandy. Really, it is. It's giving him enough time to look for an opening to do as he will, as was described to him by the officials. No indication is given to what he has in mind, and Domino's sunglasses-covered eyes betray nothing.

COMBATSYS: Drake focuses on his next action.

Well while things didn't quite work to how Gunther had hoped, such a contraption can be failing at times. Once the initial surprise has worn off it is rather easy to deal with. Though, the scientist is often used to dealing with people that are surprised more easily than what he is dealing with tonight in Jaeger. Of course this first exchange is proving the people that run the building here were wise in making these three right outside.

That rule is looking better by the minute as Jaeger starts to show why cybernetics can be a wave of the future. This is why even someone like Vega keeps one or two specialists around in case his other researchers fail him. The position that Gunther is left in is not the greatest of ones for certain. Not many people want to be on the recieving end of such a barrage that would kill most normal people.

That is why the scientist actually relies on something other than his robotic arm and the exo skeleton he wears tonight. With a deep breath the German narrows his eyes as the barrage sails his way. He remains calm but he doesn't have much time to hope this will work. He gathers all the chi he can muster and it is his normal hand he thrusts forward as the orangish colored chi erupts around him then focuses on him and bursts outwards to destroy the array of missiles and grenades alike and leaving the scientist unscathed, but panting as he closes that hand in a fist and releases the gathered chi right at his opponent. He really needs to get used to that.

And here comes the blast of energy. The next time he's scheduled for an upgrade, he's going to definitely have to ask for better dampening systems for the stuff, since his array of weaponry seems to get swallowed up without so much as a how do you do, and then rolls straight into him without pause.

The damage really isn't too severe when it comes down to it, but the fact that he's already this damaged without having landed a blow is a little disconcerting. Tossed end over end by the buffeting wave of power, he rolls across the ground in front of the building, and slides to a halt. "Well played, sir. Well played. I didn't expect another distancing attack so soon."

Jaeger is, fortunately, quite durable despite his ability to move relatively quickly in this configuration. It doesn't take him but a moment to already get to his feet, targeting Gunther. If the man is comfortable at fighting range, then perhaps closing the distance is the best resort. But first, he's going to need soem cover. With a swift action, Jaeger moves to grab ahold of a car door and rips it clean off it's hinges with little effort, and hurls it at Gunther as he tries to cover his swift approach, armored boots taking him closer towards the Shadaloo scientist on the way in

Aaaand Domino? He's still standing around more or less in the middle of them, but off to a side, observing. But he's being treated to a lovely light show, courtesy of this Gunther fellow's chi. The blast is bright enough to reflect along the black, mirror-like surface of Domino's shades, though his face remains in stoic concentration, even as Jaeger is blown back.

When the car door is ripped free, Domino quirks an eyebrow again. Well, well. Improvised weaponry. The door is thrown, and the roboman makes his advancement, obviously relying on the door to act as his cover. And that's the kind of distraction Domino's been waiting for.

A devilish smirk touches to his lips, all at once taking away the scowl.

Domino suddenly rushes forth as Jaeger starts to pass him, the tail of his trench coat flaring out behind like a cape. His hands chamber at his sides, gathering visible trails of white energy. The moment he's within range, Domino suddenly drops into a deep frontal stance on his left leg, hands rocketing out for Jaeger's torso in a double palmheel strike. The moment his arms are fully extended, the pent-up energy is discharged in a radiant blast of white energy, engulfing his hands completely with concussive force.

A cheerful smile is given by Gunther as his opponent congratulates him and he gives a slight bow. "Well I do try. It is often hard to get the jump on people so I am always trying new things." he admits. Perhaps he does have a bit of an ego or it might just be another ploy by the scientist to keep his opponent off guard. He is doing his best to keep his distance it would seem and that is probably a good thing at this point.
Having a door swung at you in close range and having one thrown right at your face are two different things. The latter gives Gunther a bit more time to duck down to avoid as he staggers forward, his pace picking up speed to close in distance between himself and Jaeger. His gaze does briefly flick towards Drake for a brief moment to make sure the fighter is coming at him this time. Once it is apparent Jaeger is going to have to deal with things Gunther is more than happy to reach into his trenchcoat once again to pull out what looks like one of those three-parted staves some fighters use while lashing it forward to strike Jaeger right across the face with it.

Unfair odds? Well, that's if Jaeger beleived in 'fairness'. A fight's a fight, and therefore certain things have to be adjusted for. Still, having two combatants instead of one to deal with now poses an additional challenge. With two incoming attacks, he can only mitigate the damage of one effectively.

As Drake comes in for the palm strike, Jaeger is pushed back by a considerable degree. Again, the damage isn't terrifying, but the fact that he's been rendered ineffective in his assault is a little disconcerting. The machine has just enough time to shove Drake aside brusquely as his internal systems undergo a series of repairs, allowing him the split second he needs to flip backwards, avoiding the staves with a quick roll to one side.

The machine is already calculating, moving quickly as he zeroes in on Gunther. The Chaos agent is left in the dust as the machine uses the torque of his high speed approach to turn on his heel and whip his foot outward to smash Gunther's chest in with a quick spinning back kick. "Apologies for my poor performance. I'm still getting used to the idea of opponents I'm not allowed to fight," he explains conversationally, despite the foot carryign enough force to crush a cinderblock.

Domino's smirk remains set to his lips, even as Jaeger pushes him out of his stance and a bit out of the way. The roboman carries on as he will, this time unimpeded by the model on his furious rush to engage Gunther in close quarters. But of course, this leaves Jaeger a bit on the vulnerable side, so far as Domino is considered.

And how he intends to capitalize on it.

With Jaeger kicking at Gunther, Domino rushes right to him and suddenly diverts his momentum into a hard flashkick. Though when he's upside-down in the motions of said kick, Domino twists his agile body over and makes a grab for Jaeger's left arm. On the descends, his legs whip over to attempt locking around the joints. And from there, he lets gravity and twisting momentum do a number on the ideally captured appendage. He hasn't the same leverage to apply as much force to this as he did when ripping the mechanical arm clean off a tank in Thailand, but the twist in the opposite direction is certainly considerable.

And that's when the arm will be released from Domino's grasp, with him just dropping back to his boots neatly.

If anything Gunther has to say so far this field test has certainly become a success no matter how things turn out from now. The enchanced adjustments to speed and strength from the exoskeleton has made this a rather amazing experience. The adrenaline is flowing through the scientist now even as he starts to engage in close range combat with his foe. "One learns to adapt and better one self. Rules can be broken and one can act on their own free will of course." he simply replies to Jaeger.

He adjusts the staff about and he brings part of it around to help absorb the kick that is aimed at him. While it still causes the scientist lets out a grunt in annoyance he does have his wits about him to strike while his opponent is close in as the metal hand of his lets go of the staff as spikes erupt from the knuckles while he drives it into the stomach of Jaeger as hard as he can before struggling to seperate himself from the other fighter fully as he reaches up to keep his glasses from falling off. "Come now lad, don't let him all the fun. I am not as frail as I look." he tells Drake as he motions for the fighter to come at him.

So far, each hit that's been landed on Jaeger has been respectable, but nothing for the droid to worry about on an individual basis. Certainly, the damage has been accuumulating, but that's bound to happen. Nevertheless, a continued assault from both parties means that he can only do so much. If anything, Jaeger can be proud of one thing: that for a machine of his power, he's actually lasted a lot longer than he probably has any right to have.

Gunther's fish nearly breaks through Jaeger's torso. That was unexpected, and without any kind of ability to discern what Gunther is capable of, the best the machien can do is pinwheel backwards just in time to slam his hand outward, defelcting Drake's attempt to grapple him down.

There's just so much to /learn/. Against an individual opponent, Jaeger is decent. Against two foes that are more powerful than him, there's going to be some adaption that needs to be done. And there's that: rules can be broken. It's more that Jaeger tries to follow the letter of the law. On the suggestion that he can actually do something about it, Jaeger gives a nod.

"You are, of course, correct," he says, and turns to Drake, raising a hand. "Terribly sorry about this. Normally, I'd not do this, as the rules strictly prohibit me from attacking you. But If I don't injure you now, my chances of success move from abysmal to none. I would like some chance of actually winning this competition, as silly as that may sound, yes?"

And with that, the hand reconfigures, sliding back, the forearm opening up once again to reveal several panels of micro missiles. Jaeger's other hand raises simultaneously as the weapon pods on his other arm opens up to display several reloaded grenade cartridges. Crouching low, he then leaps into the air in a spin, arms whirling about as he does so. The NESTS machine enters a 'death blossom', launching missiles and rockets everywhere. Explosions rock the accelerator facility, blasting chunk of concrete out of the building, destroying cars, shattering windoes in a fantatically violent display before he lands on the ground again, frame smoking fromt he explosive exertion. That used up a good amount of ammunition.

Domino promptly laughs in Jaeger's face at his statement. Not a soft, pleasant laugh, either - it's a satirical, mocking sound. "Shut up, menace. I haven't forgotten a -thing- about you," he points out. Convinced Jaeger is in it to follow rules? Hardly. He clearly has absolutely no respect for Jaeger, nor does he at all care if Jaeger should have any respects for him.

But as Jaeger takes to the air, Domino simply thrusts both hands upwards. From the right hand pours forth a thick, cascading beam of sparkling white energy, and from the left, shimmering black. It impacts with the barrage directed at him squarely, and for a while, Domino holds it back. But unfortunately, the beams runs out before the barrage, and he's hammered. Hard. He's pounded heavily against the ground, cursing his arrogance for electing to try and outblast a warmachine instead of just moving out of the way of it. He -knew- he should've done that.

But ah well. Live and learn, right?

And Domino is far from being finished here, pushing himself back up to his feet. He looks fairly frazzled by the blast, but still healthy enough. A glance is shot in Gunther's direction. "If it's all the same to you, I have my own agenda," he remarks coolly.

Things have perhaps run a bit too smoothly for this fight. Much like he said earlier one has to adapt and always expect the unexpected. Those are words he should heed himself at this point at time as Jaeger does just that. Of course a volley of missles and grenades had been released early on, but it was one of those moments when both fighters had a great amount of distance between one another.

Now this is certainly something more difficult to deal with. With the projectiles raining down on him the scientist has very little choice other than to try his best to dip and duck about to avoid what he can even as others hit and stagger him about. By the time the barrage is over the glasses have been knocked off of gunther as well as many burn marks and rips put all over as he tries to work out the kinks of where the exoskeleton was hit.

"My, that was certainly interesting." he remarks while panting a bit heavily. Gunther then steps forward to lean down and pick up his glasses. "I will just have to be more careful of you from now on." he states while slipping them back on as the right eye is spidered out from where they landed. "Shall we finish?" he asks as he remains where he is for the time being.

Jaeger doesn't process anger the same way a lot of people do. It's not even a mental shrug. Fights are fights. Using anything less than lethal force is an insult in his book, and Gunther's not been pulling any punches. That's something the war machine appreciates more than anything. The idea that someone has fought him with every ounce of power they possess. Then again, 'dying' isn't something that the machine contemplates. He's not really alive, so he can't 'die'. Even though no backups of his memory core exist at his own insistance, death would just be a nonexistance.

Still, there's the matter of being called a menace. "There's no point in being rude simply because you almost died during our previous match," he says to Drake in a conversational tone. "I appreciate your tenacity and candor, but to take it personally? For you, it was a brush with death. An exhilarating moment that more than likely made you appreciate all the wonders of being alive. Did not the sun shine brighter and the air seem cleaner once you recovered? Did the sky not seem more blue? The love of another seem more crisp? If there is anything I envy from people that are flooded with life, as opposed to the dearth that is my own unexistance, it's the unadultered power of being faced by your own mortality. The simple fact that you persist regardless is truly a gift. For you, the day you nearly died was the best day of your life."

The machine considers a moment or two. "For me, it was Teusday."

And then Gunther speaks, grabbing the machine's attention. "Certainly. Dreadfully sorry to have kept you waiting." With that, he whirls about, head moving back into his torso slightly as his shoulders disengage.

From his body raise two larger rocket launchers, and he slams to one knee, taking aim. The roar of two micro engines fill the air as the weapons burst forth from his torso in a lazy travelling arc. However, these missiles don't even seem remotely aimed at Gunther. Instead, the weapons seem to shoot overhead casually. That is, until they start to drop their payload. The missiles open up, raining small silvery bomblets all over the place, peppering the area around Gunther with munitions set to go off on a timer: enough to Jaeger to move back from his own blast radius.

"You talk too much, trashcan," Domino retorts shrewdly, unamused by Jaeger's morbidly casual behavior.

Rather than engage in some philosophical conversation, he's much more interested in paying him back for the payload he dropped on him. While Jaeger is busying himself with pooping out some missiles, Domino sets himself up right alongside him. He turns a half-circle behind the roboman swiftly, coming to a crisp stop. The momentum of the half-spin carries over to his arm, driving it into a harsh closed-fisted backhand aimed for the back of Jaeger's head.

More missiles and assorted fun. Gunther not only gets a great chance to test out his modified suit, but he also gets a chance to study a cyborg in action. What he is seeing is being kept fresh in his mind and will quickly be jotted down once he gets a chance to grab a notepad. It might take awhile, but at least there are some qualities he might one day want to experiment with in the near future.

Even as those missiles start to drop the payload down on Gunther, the scientist dashes forward while taking a few hits in the process but not wanting to let Jaeger get away. The ranged game has been played out and Gunther is ready to try to finish this before his clothes get much more ruined. Those spikes pop out from his hand once again as he thrusts forward to drive his first into the stomach of Jaeger in an upwards motion to life his opponent upwards as he opens his hand and lets the built in laser built into the palm to fire Jaeger upwards as he steps away as he adjusts his glasses with his free hand. "Apologies, but I am a busy man and my studying is done." he says while offering a rather cheerful smile even if he is rather beat up at the moment.

With the damage that's been heaped on him, Jaeger is incapable of handling another set of dual attacks. Nevertheless, he still tries to give it one final shot. As Gunther's blast shoots clean through his body, the fist catches him in the head, even while he's trying to bring his weaponry to bear. Guns luck up before he can open fire, and his fire control systems are knocked offline.

A short replay of the battle cycles through his head. Was there a way he could have handled this battle any better? This will take a lot of study, but being double teamed is largely a difficult fight. The results of the preliminary findings however are satisfactory. The amount of damage Jaeger can unload on any one opponent was more than within tolerable levels, and the amount of power it took two combined assaults to put him down was also acceptable.

Still, he's functional, despite none of his offensive systems working. Staggering backwards, the machine clatters against a car, a smoking wreck. He remains motionless for a moment, assessing damage. Alive, but unable to fight. Then Gunther's voice chimes out. "No offense taken," he says politely to Gunther who's already taking his leave. "Perhaps we can battle again. I would be interested in seeing your capabilities when otherwise unencumbered."

Then his attentions turn to Drake. "Your litanty of insults is simply in bad taste. I've done nothing to you that any other combatant would have done. Would you rather I face you with kid gloves?" A spark crackles across his body, the acrid smoke pouring from the destructive tears that gunther's left in his heavy duty frame. "Perhaps you are used to being mollycoddled, my young opponent, but I feel no such duty to do such things. Your vendetta is confusing. Is the point of battle to simply make superficial victories, triumphing over markedly inferior foes just to sustain an image?"

The droid gestures to Gunther's retreating form. "I also attempted to kill that man. I did nothing less than what I did to you, and yet, perceive his actions! He is chipper, happy to have observed me in combat, as I was to observe him. If he had nearly ceased my existance, there'd have been no hard feelings. This is battle. It is fraught with death."

A finger points at Drake, simply to punctuate. "You utilize chi. I have no such energies. Therefore, I utilize bullets and high yeild explosives. If you find that unfair or unethical, then you, my good sir, are nothing more than a sore loser. Take your losses with aplomb, or simply remain the object of ridicule and denigration."

Ahh, so it seems these two fellows have met before. Gunther finds it best to stay out of such matters and instead he decides to take a moment to make sure Drake finds himself quite finished with fighting or if he was looking to do more damage as well. "Very well, gentleman. I am going to be on my way then." he says before casting a glance towards Drake. "I assume you are done as well?"

He isn't quite sure what the role of a Chaos Agent is supposed to be, but once it looks like Drake isn't going to persue things and try to continue to fight the German finally lowers his guard as he tries to adjust his singed and rumbled clothing as straight as possibly. Good thing he had left spares at the hotel he was staying in. This is quite embarassing indeed to be seen in such a state.

Once officials seem content with everything Gunther nods his head and offers another smile as he decides to head towards his car. At least the removal of the door from his car makes it easy to come in. He will assume Geese will be generous enough to pay for the repairs. He did rather enjoy this Saab and he would like it in one piece once again he thinks as he drives off.

COMBATSYS: Gunther has left the fight here.

"Blah-freaking-blah, Microwave," Domino retorts coldly. "I'm not gonna argue right or wrong with you. Machines have no ethics, no concept of life. And if you're not a machine, you're a psychopath. Either way, the world would be better off not having a walking bomb like you trying to kill - excuse me, fight - people. And since you see nothing wrong with attempted murder, I guess I should conform to that in your case."

Pause.

Wry, rueful smile plays on his lips. "But then again? I'm the better of the two of us. I'm the one with a moral compass, -and- the one who won't bother holding back with you next time." And he turns crisply around, only to hesitate a brief moment again to look over his shoulder to the wreckage that is Jaeger. "Meaning, you over-glorified calculator, that the next time you cross me, I'll destroy you completely and utterly. Just like you want." This fight isn't really his. It's Gunther's win. Besides that, destroying Jaeger would be in bad taste in front of all the cameras. Some people are obscene enough to think that something like Jaeger is alive, after all, and he wouldn't want SNF to lose ratings on -his- account.

The amethyst eyes of the model set to Gunther, and he gives a casual nod. "Mmhm. Nice job." And with that, he starts to wander on his way.

COMBATSYS: Drake has ended the fight here.

Jaeger considers Drake's words.

The considers them again.

And again. The idea rolls around in his metallic brain for a moment, then a moment more. "Splendid! I was rather afraid the rather mediocre attacks you've tossed at me was the limits of your capacity!"

As the NESTS evac team attends to him, checking his vitals and already performing basic routine repairs, the machine only has one final thing to say.

"I very much look forward to your attempts to kill me. Please, feel no need to ever hold back on my account. I shan't cry or scream for mercy," he says as he's led to the transport van. "It's in poor taste."
