SNF 2007.11 - Beerfest! Kain vs Maxima/K'

Description: Kain pits himself against K' and Maxima! Maxima and K' transform and combine the terrifying K'axitron?! Can Kain stand up to this cheesy, fabricated homage to an old cartoon show?! TUNE IN TO FIND OUT! Alternatively, you could just read the winner portion of the description?! DUN DUN DUNNNN. (Winners: Maxima/K')

Germany, source of Kain Heinlein's family line. A country with many old traditions. Beer being an important one of them. Beer gardens are a quite popular place to spend some time while enjoying a good drink, and Kain appears to be relaxing a bit before it's time to actually begin his fight. A large area has been cleared at the center of the beer garden so that the three fighters can go at it, and Kain sits at a table by the edge, sipping from a large stein of beer. He's not going to get drunk, of course. (He's not Chin.) But a little bit will hardly hurt him. And it's very good beer indeed, even if Kain is usually the type to partake of more 'upper class' alcoholic drinks.
But when in Rome, as they say. Finishing off his drink, Kain sets the stein down on the table and smoothly rises to his feet, then taking several long strides out into the cleared area. He's got a pretty good idea of what Maxima is capable of, and he's also seen some of what K' can go. This fight is definitely going to put his abilities to the test... and he wouldn't have it any other way. Having to stretch yourself gives a fight some real /meaning/.

First wine, now beer.
If only Maxima could enjoy the full spectrum of the affects of alchohol these days.
It's like a terrible taunting. Both times fighting Kain, it's been at some celebration of alcohol or another. This leads the Canadian to believe SNF is either attempting to a) torment him or b) market the coolness of alcohol to minors (one of the worst and coolest of crimes that Maxima certainly does not condone). The rogue NESTS agent has -- fortunately -- long gotten over the loss of the many human aspects he once possessed. Like enjoying a substantial amount of alcohol and feeling the effects of inebriation.
That doesn't stop him from drinking, though. After all...
Some habits die hard, and some habits just don't die at all.
The massively mighty Canadian has been seated towards the opposite end of the 'arena' that Kain is occupying for the last ten minutes now. Gulping down mug after mug of beer for all that time, Maxima had soberly insisted those around him -not- to try this at home, under the threat of potential alchohol poisoning, while simultaneously refusing to explain why he didn't need to worry about such things. They're better off not knowing.
"Aaaaaah!" Letting out a deep sigh as he finishes his last mug before the fight, Maxima swings down the stein with a rattling impact of his massive fist against the wooden table. He might not need the drink, but he's grown used to and has come to enjoy the taste, if the broad smile graving his lips is any indication. "Whew! These Germans make some great beer," Maxima intones placidly as he pats his stomach. His massive body lurches forward, right leg swinging up and over the fencing provided for the arena. Stepping within the bounds, those dark eyes come to rest on Kain. His brows knit. A massive hand lifts.
"Yo! So we meet again, eh?"
Time for round two, it seems.

Normally, K' would not be the sort to subscribe to the practice of researching an opponent before a fight. He's aware of the advantage that knowledge can confer, but doesn't particularly care all that hard about having it. The point is not in the win or loss; it's in how far he can push himself at the spur of the moment. Very few combat situations in real life afford one the opportunity to fully prepare through study. When you're thrown into a rough situation, you either can handle it-- or you can't. However, since he's not got much else to do to kill time, he ends up watching fight videos anyway. It's relevant to his particular interests, it's potentially instructive, and it's more interesting than most of the rest of Japanese television programming. Besides, the fight circuit is where he's most likely-- now that he's an outsider-- to be able to track NESTS activity.

The result is that he's actually aware of who Kain Heinlein is before he came to this fight today. He's also heard a little from Maxima in regards to the cyborg's previous encounter with the man. To take down two opponents at once is an impressive feat-- but then again, last time Maxima had been paired up with a kid he'd never seen or worked with before. K', in contrast...

The boy had arrived early, taking some time before the fight to poke around the locale with the bemused wonderment of a kid whose exposure to the real world has been criminally limited. He'd quickly realized that there was only one purpose to this location-- a purpose Maxima was enthusiastically indulging in-- and, promptly losing interest, he'd circled back around to join his partner, kicking his chair back on its rear legs and waiting in silence. To the bemusement of those around, who have all been trying to keep Maxima from alcohol poisoning the last ten minutes, he seems completely unconcerned by his companion's behavior. In fact, he's got his earphones in and seems to be ignoring Maxima entirely.

It's soon proved otherwise, however, when Maxima finally gets up with that comment. K''s mouth pulls into a brief expression that looks like it could have a grin if it'd been allowed to finish. "It all tastes like piss to me," is his shrugged opinion-- one which stirs up a bit of an indignant outcry-- as he yanks out his earphones, winding the cord away into a pocket and pushing out of his chair. A short stroll and a long-legged step over the fencing later, he's coming to a slow halt at Maxima's side: pulling his shades off so he can get a better look at Kain. He leaves the task of greeting the man to his more amiable companion.

Insulting German beer? It's a good thing K' can throw fire from his hand, or some people might work up the courage to explain to him exactly why that simply shouldn't be done. Kain doesn't particularly the young man's taste in alcohol, however. He laces his fingers together then cracks them, nodding amiably in the direction of the NESTS escapees. "Indeed. Last time was quite... interesting. I wonder how many more tricks you have up your sleeve." And various other places as well.
Slipping his left hand into his pants pocket, Kain adopts a casual stance, right foot slightly forward and weight resting on his left leg. "I wonder, does your friend here have any surprises in store, aside from irritating the locals?" Not that Kain really expects a useful answer, but hey, it's worth a shot. And if K' does have any tricks to play, Kain is fairly confident in his ability to handle them. The question is just how long he can handle dealing with /both/ of his opponents.
Now that all three fighters are in place, somebody begins to make an announcement in German to the crowd. Kain, at least, is able to understand that it's an introduction to the fight. Thankfully, from his perspective, a brief one. He wants to get things started. For the benefit of the fighters, a member of the SNF staff does the actual start of the fight instructions for them. It's brief, as usual, and then the call to fight is given.
It doesn't seem that having that one beer is going to be slowing Kain down at all, because he suddenly lunges forward with enough speed that his coat flutters behind him as he runs. K' is still a relative unknown, so he'll leave him be for the moment, trying to get in some blows on Maxima while he waits for the younger fighter to hopefully display some weaknesses. Kain comes to a sliding stop on his left foot as he approaches Maxima, already spinning about and bringing his right foot swinging sharply upwards. Black flame surrounds Heinlein's leg as he attempts to ram an explosive kick into Maxima's upper chest to launch him off the ground.

"Man, K'," Maxima mulls in a thoughtful tone, giving a backwards glance towards some of the more irate locals.
"I think you've just made the entire German country mad at us." Now how are they going to establish a fanbase here?
Likely, this is the last thing from K''s mind at the moment. He should at least have a glimmering of Kain's capacities from what Maxima has told him; he should know what it means. Be cautious. Take things in stride. But Maxima doesn't have to tell him as much. Instead he offers an amiable smile towards Kain, his hands linking behind the back of his head. He offers a passing glance towards K'. "I don't know," he begins, lifting a brow. "He's probably got a few good things in store. Right, K'?" A pause.
"I guess we'll just have to find out."
The announcement takes place with the blare of German over a loudspeaker. "This guy is pretty tough," Maxima notes to K' as that announcement rings out. "He's got a lot of chi under his control. Should be pretty interesting to fight, right?"
But Maxima doesn't really have time to garner an answer from his partner. As, like a -rocket-, Kain is blazing forward with a plume of ebony fire to complement his actions. Fast -- but not fast enough that Maxima's sensors can't keep track of the rapid movements. Soon enough, he finds Heinlein upon him with the lance of a foot burying itself into his chest. Flames explode outward, providing force that Kain's mere physical strength alone probably would not be able to afford. And, true to the amount of power provided, Maxima goes -up- in a blossoming burst of black. Yet... he makes no motions to stop it. And as he flies, he snaps -out-, attempting to grasp Kain by the head and lift his entire body up as if he weighed little more than a pound. The Canadian is ascendent, but he tries to take Kain along for the ride... and if he does?
As soon as Maxima descends, he'll introduce Kain, back-first, into the stoney ground with enough force to crack and powder the earth beneath him. "HMMMPH!!"

Hey now, K''s statement isn't necessarily an impugnment of German beer; though it could certainly be construed as such, given he has absolutely no tact and a tendency to say things in the most offensive way possible. It's just that he pretty much uniformly dislikes beer as a whole. There's something overall... -pleasant- about beer which doesn't sit well with him. Hard liquors he'll consent to... but the fact is, he simply isn't much of an alcohol person at all. He isn't the sort to enjoy the loss of control associated with drinking, and he remembers too little of his life to want to forget.

Completely unaware of any of these mitigating circumstances or explanations, some of the watchers seem about to take K' to task anyway; the ones who -have- seen enough of K''s fights to know his particular talents only get their angry compatriots to stop when they bring up the very relevant point that causing a firewielder to get mad in the middle of a -lot- of very flammable alcohol isn't really a good idea. K' only glances over his shoulder at the fracas when Maxima makes a comment on it, one hand scruffing absently through his silver hair in bemusement at the sheer level of rage. "...what? Is the beer here supposed to be special?" The things you don't learn in NESTS.

Ignorant of the stir he's caused, he simply looks back forwards again with a shrug K''s yellow eyes fix on Kain's as the older man shares a brief discourse with Maxima concerning his ability. The kid isn't forthcoming, for his part; he simply stands there, hands shoved in his pockets, regarding Kain neutrally. After a moment-- at Maxima's inquiring prompt-- he cracks a brief and humorless grin, the look feral. Kain can ask, but the boy is not telling.

The expression wipes away quick. K' is quick to sink back into a more serious frame of mind, that air of carelessness sharpening into a wary focus. He turns and skates backwards instantly in a casual backwards leap the moment Maxima leans -forward- into Kain's attack, knowing and expecting the cyborg to take such tactics. Watching keenly as Maxima attempts his attack, he soon snaps forwards with one of his own once it's clear whether Maxima's succeeded or not, lunging forwards in an attempt to snap a sharp kick at Kain: whatever his location.

Kain hadn't been intending to take to the skies along with Maxima, but it seems he has little choice in the matter. Heinlein finds himself yanked up off the ground, then quite insistently reintroduced to it. The gunshot crack of shattering stone is thankfully not accompanied by the sound of snapping bones, but there's not much else to recommend about the process. And then there's the matter of K' snapping out a kick which takes advantage of the opening left while Kain attempts to rise to his feet.
The kick causes Kain to stagger, but doesn't stop him from rising. Obviously the ideal situation is one in which he manages to keep himself from being caught up between both of his opponents, and that means clearing up some room. Kain swiftly shifts his standing motion into a brief jump, straight up in the air. It's not nearly enough to clear Maxima, or get high enough to kick him much higher than Kain would normally be able to do... but it is enough for Kain to bring his hand in toward Maxima's head at a downward angle. The cyborg still seems to be the primary threat here, so for now it would be good to at least /not/ have him standing around where he can get his hands on Kain. If Kain can plant his hand on Maxima's head, what follows is a brilliant blue flash from a shotgun blast of chi energy, meant to send the Canadian crashing down to the ground and hopefully skidding back a fair distance.

COMBATSYS: Kain successfully hits Maxima with Medium Throw.

Skidding back, indeed. Maxima is a little bit worse for defensive wear, as it were, by the time he rears up from the ground. Powdered bits of shattered stone fall from his fingertips as he looks up towards the looming shadow rising towards him. Kain isn't lifting high enough to move clear of Maxima, which means...
"Ah, crap."
The forceful reintroduction of Maxima to the ground is a raving success. Taking advantage of the cyborg's mass in an actual, effective, way, Kain lets that chi and gravity to the brunt of the work for him. The effect is... well. 'Unpleasant' would be a good word if one wanted to understate it. The sight of Maxima rebounding into the ground like an oversized basketball helps to paint a picture of the damage done. Smoking form impacts with the crack of flesh and -- oddly enough -- metal against the stony earth, as the entire massive frame of the NESTS cyborg ricochets off the ground.
He clears a whole eight feet of air before he lands again. Armor-clad shoulder strikes the ground with such force that it digs a deep -furrow- into the earth, churning up stone and concrete like puddy. He comes to a stop at the opposite end of where K' and Kain are, and for a moment, he doesn't quite... -move-. It's a moment of prolonged silence from the cyborg that lasts all of fifteen seconds before he drags himself up. Rubble and rocks fall off his body. He shakes his head.
"Whew! Now -that- was not a fun ride."
For now, he lies in wait. His systems begin to reroute themselves towards self-repair, fixing his body and his more necessary functions as he lies in wait. K' can deal with Kain for a few seconds without his assistance. He'll just stay over here, out of the range of the battle for the time being.

COMBATSYS: Maxima gains composure.

K' lands from his kick rather uncomfortably close to Kain, but is quick to leap back and away again: opening the distance between himself and Heinlein with decided wariness. It helps that Kain does not choose to capitalize on K''s momentary closeness; but that does come with a cost, one which Maxima ends up paying.

The results of Kain's attack on his companion causes even the impassive K' to crack a brief grimace. That -had- to hurt. With his partner knocked so far back, K' predicts himself to be the next target; and yet, instead of settling back defensively, his stance opens up like he's instants from attack. His gloved hand winds shut with a crack of knuckles, the escaped NESTS project already starting to feel the steady burn of pain down the length of his arms that accompanies the usage of his stolen talents.

A sudden and startling surge of red flame sparks in his right hand, searing up his forearm in a rapid and living sheath. It would seem this would be the 'surprise' of K''s which Kain had speculated about. The boy cuts into rapid movement, heading straight for Kain: in the last moments before impact, the fire bursts before him in a ring, heating the space between himself and Heinlein to uncomfortable levels in the space of instants. Reckless as ever, K' aims a scything kick at Kain straight through the fire, trying to smash both that blow and the flames into the man.

COMBATSYS: Kain blocks K''s Second Shell.

Well, that worked out nicely. Having momentarily dealt with Maxima, Kain is free to pay more attention to K'. When K''s kick comes sweeping in, Kain braces himself and holds up an arm to stop the incoming leg. The kick forces Kain's arm to move slightly, but otherwise he seems relatively unharmed. Luckily for him, and unluckily for K', this means that Kain is able to react relatively quickly.
Kain briefly pulls his arms back, then suddenly shoves them both back out toward K'. The swirling blue energy that forms between the palms of Kain's hands is probably a rather bad sign for the younger fighter. The ball of chi expands at a rapid rate, ballooning out into a massive orb of roiling bright blue liquid fire, large enough that it's already reaching K'. The wind coming off it ruffles the hair and clothing of both men, until it suddenly launches forward. If K' isn't quick to react, he's going to find himself engulfed and likely sent flying.

A rather large spike in energy output graces Maxima's sensors. Chi outputs race through the roof at levels that would give Maxima a splitting headache if he tried to figure them out -- which is saying something. It's these moments, these bursts of activity and rising storms of chi, that Maxima places into a select category:
The 'Holy Shit' category.
The readouts are accompanied by the pulse of chi that blossoms from Kain's hands into a spherical, broiling mass of liquid fire. Aimed at K'. Of course, Maxima knows that poor K' can handle himself. Still.
"... That's gonna sting."
Maxima, ever the master of the understatement.
Still, even though his scanners are going haywire from the chistorm given birth between Kain's gloved palms, the mighty Canadian takes act. Plowing across the distance between himself and the pair of fighters, Maxima can't quite make it in time to help K' with his Massive Fiery Ball of Death problem. What he can do, however, is keep up the offensive on the Heinlein heir. The convoluted mass of blue chi is launched off at the precise moment that Maxima's gloved hands seek to grasp Kain around the middle. The rogue NESTS agent yanks -backwards-, ripping Kain from the ground to introduce his head to concrete in a suplex that has Maxima bending back at an angle truly unnatural for his mass. The crack of skull against concrete would be accompanied by Maxima literally -flipping- backwards if all goes well, landing just over Kain to repeat the process in a second, final suplex. "HMPH!!"

'Oh shit' indeed. His own attack handily blocked, K' hastily aborts it just in time to find himself staring down Kain's retaliation. It looks extremely painful, and as such K' really doesn't want it hitting him head-on.

The energy forms and expands quick enough that K' can't entirely avoid the fringes of it, however: a slight growl of pain's pulled from him as the edges of it burn him before he can get clear with a blurring slide backwards. He knows it's impossible to get clear in time before that mess of blue energy blasts towards him, and so instead of making a futile attempt to do so... he stays right where he is, his stance opening up in a wide brace and his arms snapping up in a cross. The kid weathers the attack with a fortitude shocking considering he doesn't outwardly look like much. NESTS does wonders for upping the strength of the human body.

It probably also helps that he slaked off some of the energy by guarding himself with his own fire. The protective traces of it can be seen plating his arms as the energy washes past: blue warring with red.

But soon enough, K''s Kusanagi fire swaps from defensive back to offensive purpose; though it's not actually used for a direct attack. K''s right hand swipes abruptly down out of its guard, describing a brilliant arc of fire right before Kain's face. It's not meant to hurt Kain, barely even coming close; the burst of flames is rather meant as an attempt to blind and distract Kain, hopefully assisting Maxima in his attacks upon Heinlein.

COMBATSYS: K' assists Maxima.

Kain frowns for a moment when K' isn't blown away by his attack. Unfortunate. Even more unfortunate is one he finds himself grabbed by Maxima. He attempts to slip out of the Canadian's grip but he's not quite fast enough. When that fails he attempts to shift his neck and shoulders so that he'll hit the ground with his shoulders rather than his head, but even that fails. And then Maxima drags him back up to do it again.
Kain may have just taken a rather nasty blow to the head, and have another one in his immediate future, but it doesn't mean he's not thinking clearly. Even as his head is being brought swiftly back into contact with the ground black fire is starting to flow out of his clothing. When his head /does/ crash into the ground there's only a moment of delay before Kain's entire body erupts in a pillar of black fire. If Maxima's not quick to let go and get himself into a better position he might be in for a bit of trouble.

Crimson fire, courtesy of NESTS, helps K' to ward off Kain's assault. Unsurprised, Maxima continues his brutal assault on the Heinlein heir. After all--
He knew K' could handle himself.
With that distinct, unmistakable flare of the red fires of the Kusanagi, Maxima knows it's time to strike. A swath of that fire sizzles the air straight before Kain's face, giving a moment's distraction, a moment's hesitation that Maxima most assuredly needs to deal with what comes next. With a second's delay, his sensors pick up in time what his mind might not have registered if not for K''s tactics: a broiling MASS of fire, black as night, splitting the air around Kain in a bubbling pillar. The firestorm whips up and singes at Maxima's face with the heat of it all. So, his solution is simple.
He rams his fists into the massive cross of fire with a mighty warcry.
Chi-flames burn into the leather of Maxima's gloves the moment they make contact. It hurts; even his mechanical body can't dull the sensation of pain that wracks through the remaining organics of the Canadian. But he strives through valiantly, crushing his fists into the mass and abating it preemptively from striking him full force. The resultant explosive impact is more than enough to send Maxima reeling back. His feet stamp against the ground harshly in his stagger, his hands literally -charred- at the fingers. He doesn't seem to notice.
Instead, he just tries to grab Kain, lift him into the air once more like little more than a rag-doll, and reintroduce him to his new favorite friend Mr. Ground once more.

"MAXIMA!"
The bellowing roar of the Canadian's name is accompanied by Kain once more meet and greeting his floory friend. The greeting this time comes with such tremendous force that the ground literally -depresses- inwards, unable to cope with the stress. Stone and concrete craters in a five foot radius around Kain and Maxima, but this is not the end.
Sadly for Kain.
In a blur of white fabric, Kain Heinlein is peeled off the ground and ripped into the air with a straight-vertical thrust. There he'll fly, ascending high into the air in a disorienting rush. As he falls, Maxima's knees bend, straining with tension that is just as quickly -released- like pistons. Kain's spine is introduced with Maxima's unnaturally hard skull in a vicious crack of a headbutt, plowing him back into the air. This process is repeated once more, and then a final time, Maxima driving his skull into the German fire wielder to send him blasting off again. Only this time he'll land on stone ground.
And it'll probably hurt.
"REVEEEEENGEEEEERRRR!!"

K' draws back a little as Maxima launches into his attack, the cyborg's partner recognizing the move and wanting to be clear of the inevitable shrapnel and craters that'll ensue. His right hand, randomly, is still alight: K' shakes it out irritably, the fire quenching with a flick of the wrist. His ungloved hand lifts, fingertips touching along his temple briefly with a grimace. He'll have a headache later from that blast he took.

He supposes all this is rather poetic, a sort of revenge for the way Maxima's last fight against the German went; however, K' is not foolish enough as to believe Heinlein doesn't have enough in him for at least a little more. He maintains his distance, stance readied, watching warily for whatever Kain might do. If anything.

COMBATSYS: K' takes no action.

All in all, it's a highly unpleasant experience. Concrete flies up as Kain is slammed down, small fragments raining down on the German even as he's being yanked right back up. He attempts to flip around in the air and regain some control over his movement, but in his stunned state there simply isn't enough time to do so before he comes back into contact with Maxima. The wind is knocked right out of him as Maxima's head slams into him. Then again. And again. And then, finally he comes falling back down with another ground shattering crunch.
And it looks for a moment like Kain might be done for the count. Then the rubble stirs as Kain rises to his knees. Waves of blue chi energy rise off of Heinlein as he stands back up, gathering even more of that chi into his hands again. But this time the swelling orb of chi is a bright golden color. When it launches from his hands toward Maxima the massive orb flies in a rapid zigzagging pattern before sudden exploding to wash over the Canadian. And then? Kain wobbles for a moment, but remains standing.

COMBATSYS: Maxima dodges Kain's Himmlische Macht.

If there's one thing that Kain Heinlein is good at, it's taking a beating and refusing to fall afterwards. Maxima knows this well enough. The fact that he manages to survive through all -this- damage and still manage to stand, though? That... -that- is surprising. Maxima's eyes narrow as Kain gets up. He notes the pulsation of chi even before Kain manifests it in a visible form. It's -fast-. Even so sluggish after sustaining such a beating, it's still so fast... But. Maxima's legs tense. His eyes narrow. That golden orb of chi swells and explodes into a rapid, zigzagging motion that trails fire behind it and burns the very air around it in its intensity. The Canadian's body lowers...
And in one, glorious moment, the entire frame of the massive cyborg LEAPS right out of the way of that swirling golden pulse.
It barely works. Energy burns across the leather of Maxima's suit, searing almost painfull at his skin. But it still goes soaring past the second that Maxima hits the ground in a heavy -thud- of impact. He lands back first in a roll that takes him closer to Kain. Stopping in a crouch, his hands press against the ground and then push -off- in an explosion of speed, sending the Canadian warrior launching in the air. His right knee is extended. It's target: Kain's ribcage. "HMMPH!"

K', not so informed of Kain's capabilities as Maxima is, is even more floored by the fact that Kain isn't put out by that amount of damage. He'd expected a little more, certainly, but he hadn't expected this degree of ability to continue. The boy-- normally apathetic and indifferent to the point of complete nonresponse-- actually shows his surprise, his stance slackening and yellowy-red eyes widening as Kain simply... gets right the hell up. And he's still got enough in him to keep attacking, too.

K' is too well-trained, however, to spend too much time staring. Shaking out of that surprise with a huff of annoyance at his slip in demeanor, his eyes narrow in abrupt focus. They should finish this quick. He certainly doesn't want Kain to stay up long enough to get around to aiming those blasts at -him-. Fire springs to life about his wrist again, twisting in his hand: at the upwards flick of his arm, it flashes before him in a snarling ring. K' twists abruptly, smacking a roundhouse kick into the fire, sending the mess bolting at Kain in concurrence with Maxima's own attack.

COMBATSYS: Kain dodges K''s Second Shoot.

Well, on the one hand having Maxima's knee slam into his gut does suddenly knock Kain out of the line of fire for K''s attack. On the other hand, that cyborg knee hits Heinlein right in the solar plexus, driving all the wind out of him in an explosion of pain. Kain goes flying back, hitting the ground rolling before finally coming to a stop. And yet... there's a spark of glowing golden light left floating in the air before Maxima.
Kain manages to reach up one hand, lifting himself up long enough to stretch it out toward Maxima. He then clenches his hand into a fist before finally collapsing to the ground. It seems Kain is out, but making one last hurrah before he goes, because that spark of golden light suddenly erupts into a massive explosion.

COMBATSYS: Kain can no longer fight.

Ah, dear. In fact:
"Oh, bothe--"
CRAK-THOOM.
It's the deafening sound of a blistering explosion that overtakes Maxima and drowns out the rest of his exclamation of discontent over his predicament. The ripping storm of chi that follows likely does a better job to encompass his feelings as it burns through stone and concrete and sends the entire mass of the Canadian blazing through it, burnt and battered. The cyborg and the tatters of his leather ordeal hit the ground with a bouncing boom of impact, churning up the street even further before he comes to a dead stop just before the boundaries of the arena. Smoke rises from his body in chaotic whisps. He does move. Instead, he lets his words do the talking for him.
"... ooooowwww..."
He'll stay like that for a long moment after, drifting in and out of consciousness. Slowly, he looks up towards a elderly German man standing just above him, staring in awe. He reaches out, weakly.
"H... help..." he gasps, "I... I...
"... need a beer."
They're likely going to be here for a little while longer.

COMBATSYS: Maxima has left the fight here.

His attack misses-- but ultimately, it doesn't matter. Kain has Something to Say about Maxima's blow landing, however; and, with some dismay, K' watches as his partner takes... yet another beating. His head literally turns to follow Maxima's magnificent arc through the air and summary skid towards the edge of the arena. Slightly nonplussed, left the only one standing, the runaway NESTS project ends up looking between Kain and Maxima's downed forms, relatively unharmed compared to the other two fighters involved in this skirmish. As unharmed as somebody who had to weather through one of Kain's attacks can be, anyway.

Eventually, K''s posture slackens, shoulders slumping as his smoldering hands quench and shove into his pockets. The boy walks over to Maxima, coming to a stop next to the cyborg and peering down at him in silence with a critical eye. He'll be okay. He's been put through things just as bad before.

"Well. Can't say as you don't deserve it," is his flat opinion on Maxima's urgent request, which he's managed to overhear. "Fuck, you took a beating." And with that, K' stoops down and-- with some considerable effort-- pulls Maxima up, bracing one of the cyborg's arms about his shoulders: providing just enough support so Maxima can get out of the dirt and over to a table.

He'll probably regret his permissiveness later, when it's been hours and he's still stuck waiting on Maxima.
