Description: Dudley and Hayato duke it out on Dudley's home turf, using the boxer's chosen fighting style. At first it looks like Hayato is in seem real trouble, but his Burning Spirit manages to help even things out. (Draw Match)
Large crowds have gathered in the Stamford Bridge stadium today, where a boxing ring has been set up in the center for the two tournament fighters. Dudley himself is walking to it with a towel slung over his shoulder, boxing gloves already on, tightened and ready to go. He waves to his cheering fans that have come, and they are many, since the British boxer is well known throughout his homeland. Dudley hops up into the ring itself where his designated corner awaits. His butler faithfully stands outside the ring at this spot.
Boxing isn't really Hayato's particular forte, but when it comes to sports there are very few in which he doesn't have at least a small level of proficiency. And the wide range of athletic clubs between the various Southtown schools means the equipment is available to train in just about anything. In fact, it's from Taiyo High that Hayato has borrowed his boxing gloves. A nice traditional red, which matches his track suit pants. He's held off on wearing the jacket today, though, for the sake of the rules. It'll be a little tricky fighting without using his shinai at all, but it wouldn't be the first time Hayato's had to rely on his fists.
Standing in his corner of the ring, Hayato nods as the lucky student who got to come along as Hayato's 'coach'. Of course he's mostly just there to be able to provide water and whatnot between rounds. He's also a bit more familiar with the Marquess of Queensberry rules than Hayato, and is giving the Phys Ed teacher a quick reminder. "Yeah, yeah, I've got it!" He then turns, facing Dudley with a wide grin on his face. "Nice to meet ya, pal. I'd shake hands but, y'know..." He waves one of his gloved hands briefly. "Been looking forward to this. Best way to learn something is to go up against someone who really knows what they're doing."
Dudley gives Hayato an amused smirk. "I agree sir. Part of what keeps a fighter sharp is challenging himself to unfamiliar situations. I will not hold back." Dudley then takes a rose and throws it out to the crowds, just as the bell rings. Dudley raises his fists and moves forward...
Hayato's response is an even wider grin. This should be fun... When the bell rings he steps forward, raising both gloves into the proper position. His form's not perfect, but perhaps it will be good enough. While Hayato may lack Dudley's experience with this particular type of fighting he does have a lot of general experience, along with a lot of enthusiasm. Enough enthusiasm that he quickly closes the distance between the two of them, trying to land the first blow and get the flow of the fight in his favor. To that end he shoots out with a heavy right straight aimed for Dudley's jaw.

Dudley sees Hayato coming, however, as if from a mile away, ducking quickly as Hayato's fist swooshes right above him. He quickly follows up by throwing a hook punch into the gym teacher's side, using his feet to keep moving around his opponent.

Hayato grunts in pain, leaning to the side as Dudley's fist plows into him just under the ribs. Well, he knew the trained boxer would have the advantage in this fight, but that's not going to discourage him. He's quickly back into position and keeping his own feet moving, trying to keep Dudley from being able to predict how exactly he's going to come in. He throws out a few quick jab punches, but those are more to test Dudley's defenses than any attempt at an actual attack.
It's only after that initial probing that Hayato commits himself to a real attack. He starts to throw what looks like another jab, but then quickly shifts it into an uppercut blow. He can't get as much force behind it as if he'd done it in one smooth motion, but at least it's a bit harder to see coming.

Dudley decides to take whatever comes his way, hoping to surprise Hayato himself with this movement and get close enough to overwhelm the teacher. Hayato's fake out fist connects solidly with the brits jaw. Dudley keeps his head from snapping back despite the cracking of teeth together, throwing out a hard blow to his opponent's face. He just hopes he got in close enough to avoid it being blocked.

As he draws his own fist back, Hayato leans to the side, slipping past Dudley's attack and into a series of quick steps to help him in an attempt to get to Dudley's side. Not that he's going to attack from there... But Dudley is going to have to turn to face him, and may not be able to read Hayato in time to get his defenses into shape. The Burning Phys-Ed Teacher rushes in close to Dudley, unleashing a two hit combination. First a right hook aimed at Dudley's jaw, now that he's already managed to soften him up a bit there, followed by a blow to the ribs with his left fist.

Dudley quickly performs a slip, or body rotation, letting the jaw punch go harmlessly past his head, and then slips backwards with his feet to avoid the shot at his ribs. Both movements are done quite fast. Dudley wastes no time, moving quickly back in and throwing a one-two jab into Hayato's chest, before his fists return to their upright positions.

When his attack is evaded Hayato is quick to slide back into a defensive position, using his forearms to block Dudley's punches and taking a few steps back at the same time, blunting much of the damage. This is definitely going to be tricky. Both men are pretty strong, so it looks like Dudley's skill is tipping the scales in his favor so far. So it looks like Hayato's going to have to rely on his spirit!
Taking another step back, Hayato slams both of his gloved fists together as he flashes Dudley another grin. The muscles in his arms tense up and waves of fiery orange chi begin radiating out from Hayato as he pumps himself up. "Well, that's been a good warm up. How about we get serious?" Hayato barks a short laugh, but keeps his eyes firmly on Dudley the whole time.

Dudley doesn't blink when Hayato's chi manifests, simply looking at the Japanese man with an amused smile. "I think I shall meet that challenge, sir," he says cordially, but his arms also tense, as Dudley radiates with a cool blue chi aura, a stark contrast to the fiery orange of Hayato's. Dudley meets the man's gaze; it looks like Hayato is free to move in first.

Well, if Dudley insists... Still grinning, Hayato suddenly pulls his arms back up into position then dashes forward. He leads with his left arm, but that's more to hold Dudley at bay than to hit him with. He might not actually be able to grapple with him, but that doesn't mean he can't get in close in an attempt to disrupt Dudley's ability to attack. Of course, a boxer as skilled as Dudley is probably quite capable of fighting at close range, but it may buy Hayato a few moments. And those few moments are used in an attempt to repeatedly hammer his fist into Dudley's ribcage, hitting him as many times as he can before the British boxer manages to recover.

Dudley rotates his torso to avoid the flurry of punches, now at an angle to Hayato's side. Now feeling it's time to unleash something a little harder, Dudley lashes out immediately with a furious series of chi-charged blows to hammer at the temporary opening he gains, his dominant fist moving so rapidly his punches blur together. He certainly hopes this will knock his opponent for a loop!

Dudley's a bit faster on his feet than Hayato had expected. He may be in a bit of trouble here. Not that this knowledge will be slowing him down any. But it does mean that when Dudley opens up with his flurry of blows, Hayato doesn't attempt to evade it, or even use his arms to defend himself. If he's busy blocking it means he's not attacking. His intent is to trade blows, clocking Dudley in the head while the boxer is still pummeling him. That plan is somewhat disrupted after a few good hits, but Hayato still manages to recover relatively quickly, aiming a hook at Dudley's jaw in an attempt to force him to back off for a moment.

Dudley quickly ducks and rolls under the hook punch, essentially bobbing and weaving to the inside of Hayato's arm. It's a quickly, fluid movement, Dudley following through with a single uppercut to Hayato's jaw, much like the first blow he took earlier. It will certainly sting if Hayato doesn't recover in time. Dudley doesn't make a snide quip at Hayato's performance or even a taunt. He merely grunts, sweats and breathes hard as he keeps himself alert, his hair now unkempt from the quick moving he's had to do.

Each time his fist fails to connect with a target, Hayato is quick to pull his arms back so that he'll be ready, because it means that Dudley is likely in the perfect position to unleash an attack of his own. But this time Hayato manages to see it coming in time. While Dudley is swinging up with his uppercut, Hayato brings his fist down in a move that's almost completely the opposite, a downward swinging arc that connects with the top of Dudley's head, smashing into him before he's able to follow all the way through with his intended attack.
The blow is solid, hitting Dudley smack dab in the head and making an explosion of stars cloud his vision. He falls to the ground with a thud. The referee starts the count, but Dudley gets up, the blow making his eyes start to black but otherwise, no fractured skulls or the like. Dudley's head is pretty hard due to his lifelong training. "An excellent recovery," he says as a compliment to Hayato. The round resumes and Dudley throws out another hook this time, aimed for Hayato's cheek rather than his ribs now.

With all the blows he's been taking to the spots he /shouldn't/ be, Hayato's arms are in pretty good shape. Thus it's not to difficult for him to hold up against Dudley's attacks... assuming he can get his defenses positioned properly in time. Dudley's glove slams up against Hayato's arm, but the limb holds. Hayato then shoves firmly against Dudley's attacking arm, attempting to momentarily throw him off balance.
If he can succeed at that, it will make it a lot easier for Hayato to land his next blow. Given the blows he's landed so far, perhaps Dudley will be expecting another attack to the head. That in mind, Hayato aims lower, throwing his weight behind an upward angled blow to the ribs with his right fist.

Dudley does expect a head shot and brings both arms together...but realizes it's a fake out. Dudley immediately crouches where he thinks the punch will strike, successfully absorbing it with his arms. That was certainly close. Dudley follows this by launching with a series of jabs designed to push Hayato into the corner, not as fast as his machinegun blow technique, but powerful in their own right.

Well, Hayato's punch connected with something, at least. Rather unfortunate that it was Dudley's arm, however. Still, it's better than not hitting at all. It forces Dudley to shift from a defensive position to an offensive one before he can strike back and that gives Hayato a chance to prepare in kind. Hayato just barely manages to lean to the side of the first jab punch, and it's as Dudley is lashing out with the second that he makes his strike. Hayato's own fist flies out with amazing speed, blazing orange chi surround his glove as he pounds his fist into the center of Dudley's face with all his strength and a booming shout. "Hyah!"
When Hayato's fist connects with Dudley's face, it's like a train jumps the tracks and smashes into a Rammstein concert: fire and explosions every which way. Dudley goes flying, though not out of the ring thankfully. He rebounds off the ropes and lands on the mat face-first, not moving. The referee starts the countdown, and the crowds lean forward in eagerness. Will he get up, or is that it for their homeland hero? The count reaches 8....9.....
But then Dudley stirs and rises, his face beaten and starting to become swollen but still with a face at the very least. His nose looks a bit bent too. Without a word, the British's boxers eyes flash with determination, intending on at least giving his own good show before he truly hits the mat. He flashes brightly with his own chi, rushing forward with a speed not shown previously in the match, assaulting Hayato with a large number of super-fast punches, leaving glowing blue after-images with each roll and punch. Those with experience in boxing would recognize this as something like the Dempsey Roll, but sped-up.

This time it's Hayato's turn to get sent down to the mat. Not that any of Dudley's blows by themselves have enough downward force to knock the teacher straight down, but all of them combined serve quite well to knock him back and off his feet. He bounces off the ropes before falling forward and down to the mat, one arm caught underneath him. And of course the count starts. By the time it gets to 7 Hayato is up to one knee, then a moment later he's back to his feet, wobbling slightly. There are going to be bruises all over his torso after this and one of his eyes is starting to swell up, but he's still standing.
And even despite the beating, there's still a grin on his face. He pounds his gloves together again, though this time he doesn't pause for long after doing so. Once more he lunges at Dudley, this time starting up a flurry of light, quick body blows. None of them are particularly punishing by themselves, but combined they should have some chance of doing some damage.

Dudley ducks and weaves with each punch smoothly, despite the damage to him and his eyes now almost puffed to slits. He can't help but grin back at Hayato's spirits himself. After the flurry of blows, Dudley himself counters with his own flurry, aimed at the chest and stomach of his opponent. The crowd is wild at this point, the two fighters having survived some heavy attacks and now going for the final stretch.

A quick couple steps back to get out of Dudley's range is Hayato's solution to this latest attack. He's getting a bit worn down, but he's still agile enough to keep this fight up for a bit longer. Rushing back in toward Dudley's fists is rather dangerous, but nothing ventured, nothing gained! Hayato charges in, leading with a right straight similar to the one with which he opened the fight. This time, however, he aims lower, going for a body blow. With both men getting worn down, knocking the wind out of Dudley is probably his best chance for bringing the boxer down.

The fight is taking it's toll on the British boxer; Dudley wearily tries to evade the fist but it strikes him in his stomach dead on. He gasps sharply as the air rushes out of him, and he doubles over. He fights himself from blacking out, rising up again with all of his effort. Dudley follows by throwing a hook punch again - but it's a fake, as he uses his other fist to slam it into Hayato's gut too. Might as well even things a bit while he's still conscious.

Hayato isn't quite defeated yet, although he's getting there. He quickly drops an arm to deflect the gut punch, but he's forced to step slightly to the side under the force of the blow. Hayato has a lot of energy to draw on, but it isn't quite boundless. And when your body has taken a beating it becomes that much harder to draw on that strength. He takes a deep breath as he straightens back up, lashing out with a blow aimed at Dudley's jaw as he rises. His vision is a bit blurred at the moment, but luckily there's only one target that he needs to worry about.

Dudley doesn't do much except get in the jaw at this point, his head reeling from the blow. His vision finally starts to fade, but he has one last punch him him before he falls to the mat. Dudley ducks, throwing out a hard straight for the center of Hayato's chest...and then falls.

And that blow to the chest is just a bit more than Hayato's beaten body is able to stand. The wind is knocked out of him, causing him to slowly fall to his knees. Under the rules of the match the count starts once his knee hits the mat, meaning that the count winds up starting for both Hayato and Dudley at the same time. But even as the counting is going on Hayato is still in the process of falling the rest of the way down. By the counter of six he's trying to get back up, but he just can't summon the strength. And then the ref reaches 10. "DKO!"

Dudley meanwhile just lays there. Luckily the medical teams are on hand to get them out of there. He'd be shaking his opponents hand at this point, were he conscious.
