Since getting onto the ship, things had actually been pretty slow for Hinata, leaving her to mostly stick to her room when she wasn't draining the food reserves in her junk food raids. It was practically at the point where she was starting to forget the whole reason she got onto the ship in the first place... that is until a message showed up underneath a cake she'd picked up in the galley, nothing but a time, place and name.
With the time finally arriving, Hinata made her way down toward the hold dressed in her usual Taiyo blues. These matches are going to be televised and she wants to do her best to represent the school she loves! Her spirits are high as she walks down the corridor toward the stairs leading to the hold when she suddenly feels the floor drop out from under her, suddenly dropping her down into the dark depths of water. There's fits of splashes as the girl's filled with surprise before she can bring herself back together and get up to her feet, the water deep enough that it's nearly at her shoulders. This wasn't in the brochure!
The invitation that was slipped under Katelynn's cabin door had a similar message to Hinata's, but apparently they forgot to tell her that it would be a bit on the wet side. As a result, Katelynn finds herself about stomach deep in the water, her gi already soaked. At least she came barefoot, so her shoes didn't get soaked. Nonetheless, this is not exactly how Katelynn planned to fight, but if this is how the mysterious host wants to do it, then be it.
Katelynn then spots Hinata and says, "I always look forward to new challenges, and I'm sure this is going to be a good one." She smiles a little. "Shall we get it on?"

It takes Hinata a moment to get a feel for her surroundings, but as Katelynn speaks she finally takes notice of her opponent. Her smaller size definately has her at a disadvantage as her movements are kept a bit sluggish in the rolling water filling the cabin. "Yes, let's get things started, this water's really cold and it seems pretty dirty, I want to get out of here as soon as possible." Although, rather than actually get things started, Hinata pushes through the water toward the semi cabin sticking in through the hull and pulls herself up onto the hood.
As soon as Hinata gets up on the hood, Katelynn is quick to follow after her, sloshing through the water as best as she can. It's cold, but once her body temperature gets used to it, it's not so bad. Partially due to the fact she manages to focus a little of her chi into her temperature, keeping herself from catching a cold. Once she's close enough to Hinata, though, it's a whole different story.
Climbing up the front of the semi, Katelynn reaches up with one hand and attempts to pull Hinata off the hood and into the water below!

Even with her feet weighted down with all the water soaked into her shoes and socks, Hinata's still got plenty in her to keep from being grabbed that easily. In a flash she jumps up into the air and out of the path her grip before starting to twist around in mid-air, bringing her leg around and sending one of those overly soaked shoes flying off her foot (taking the sock along with it in a schlucking noise) and straight for Katelynn's head before coming to land on top of the semi's cab.

As the foot comes toward Katelynn, she reaches up and grabs it and pulls the girl down more to her level, discovering that even with her gi weighted down a little, she still has the ability to defend herself. In fact, she figures out how to properly time her counters so that she can make up for being weighted down. With one shoe on and one shoe off, Hinata's in a rather unusual predicament, with her shod foot still getting soaked. But that will be the least of her worries as Katelynn brings her right fist towards the schoolgirl's stomach swiftly.

The one-shoed position is certainly far from optimal, especially when trying to keep your balance on the rather smooth metal of the truck's cab, matters not being helped much as her foot gets grabbed. All this water leaves Hinata in a very unstable position, her feet slipping out from under her when Katelynn's punch comes flying in, gliding right past her harmlessly as she falls onto her backside mostly harmlessly.
Of course with the hood at an angle and everything covered in water, the hood acts like a slip and slide and as Hinata goes flying back toward the water, she manages to whip out a leg and aim it toward Katelynn's shoulder.

Katelynn raises her guard to block the kick, but she forgets about how her arms are weighted down, and she can't protect herself in the nick of time. She's hit in the shoulder and staggers backwards, falling into the water herself. A second later, she gets back up and spits out some of the gross water that got in her mouth. Realizing the predicament she is, she carefully observes Hinata, waiting to see her next action.

Even being lucky enough to send miss Molina flying into the water isn't enough to keep Hinata from sliding into the drink herself with the complete lack of non-slippery hand holds on the truck. Once more weighted down in the water, she goes for a different tactic, diving down and forward under the water and bursting forward with a control blast of chi behind her. Both arms lash out in an attempt to grab one of Katelynn's legs.

Even in water like this, Katelynn is still able to focus her chi into her fist, and then thrust it forward just as Hinata comes at her. The energy sphere that comes out should hit Hinata in the stomach and send her backwards. That doesn't mean the throw is useless, since the grab does send Katelynn staggering backwards a little.
The force of the hit is plenty enough to knock Hinata's hold off of Katelynn's leg. It also sends her flying up and out of the water a good foot and a half before splashing back down and touching the floor before she pushes back up to her feet, managing to haul something up from floating in the water only to discover... her shoe!
"Hey, I found it, that's great!" Rather than trying to pull the thing back on, however, she quickly hurls it through the air aimed once more for Katelynn's face full of water.

Katelynn merely tsks as the shoe comes at her. She raises her hand to catch it, and finds that when it hits her, it stings a little. She then looks and realizes she had her hand the wrong way, and realizes that next time she should try holding it a different way to absorb the damage more. But that's not the point.
"Got cold feet yet?" Katelynn says with a laugh as she, somehow, brings her right leg forward in a kick while pushing off with her left foot, somehow flying across the water at Hinata!

It's certainly not the streets of Southtown or the Taiyo school yard, but Hinata's certainly not locked in to a single fighting location, even if most people would think so from how she's dressed. The water has the advantage of cover and making it a lot harder keep your accuracy, so rather than try to leap out of Katelynn's path, Hinata once more dives toward the depths, managing to squeeze right under the girl's path completely unharmed.
This would probably seem like as good a time as any to pull up out of the water and get a better view, but sometimes taking chances pulls through and Hinata uses another burst of chi to send herself flying forward through the water toward Katelynn, planting her feet solidly as she gets into range and then suddenly blasting up through the water like a submarine launched rocket, spiralling upward with her fist trailing flame out behind it, aimed right for her opponent's jaw, "I'm not cold, I'm getting fired up!"

Trying to get through something like this isn't very easy, although Katelynn has managed to adjust her speed for something like this. Nonetheless, she still gets hit, even if she does throw Hinata off course a little. This means that she's more vulnerable for Katelynn's coup de grace: The Ultimate Kata! A swift flurry of carefully choreographed punches and kicks!

he problem with plans... is sometimes they don't work out the way you thought they would.
It's quite clear to Hinata that this is one of those times as she finds herself caught up in a maelstrom of punches and kicks, each one hitting hard and solid as they push her back until the last one sends her flying back a good few feet in the water. Her teeth grit a bit as she pulls back to keep a closer eye on her opponent while she gathers her wits.

Seeing that Hinata is taking a moment to back off and think things over, Katelynn does a little thinking of her own, and realizes that she's barely got any fight left within her. Yet, her adrenaline still rushes through her like a waterfall. With that in mind, she manages to negate the water's buoyancy and actually jump a little towards Hinata and aim a kick for her face!

Hinata's wits are collected quite admirably in quick order as Katelynn comes flying in at her. There's a smirk on her lips as she drops a bit lower and then, at the last minute, sends a light speed kick flying right into Molina's gut right under the waterline just as the taller girl's leg grazes past her head. All the force in the kick is designed with one thing in mind: sending Katelynn zooming through the water to slam right into the front end of the truck with more force than most anybody would expect out of a girl like Hinata.
Katelynn hits the front end of the truck... hard. And it's obvious she's pretty badly injured. Despite her efforts to get to a drier spot, she ends up collapsing as soon as she's in a safer spot. At least she won't drown, but she's definitely out of here.

As it becomes apparent that the fight is over, two members of the crew open up the trap door Hinata had previously fallen down and lower a ladder. At first making her way toward the ladder, she quickly diverts back toward the truck, hauling up Katelynn and a bit slowly hauling her over toward the ladder and holding her right where she can get to it. "That was a pretty good fight. We should reward ourselves with some hot pie or something to warm up."
