Description: Katelynn is accosted by an overzealous Himeko. What will become of this?
The main dock of the Suiryuu? Well, there are much more interesting parts of the ship than the main deck that much is for sure, but certain people have found as of late that they can't just sit around in the library anymore!
Hurricane Hime, a young fighter clad heavily in pink and wearing a large black scarf is currently on the scene, and the fog is heavy again, making it difficult for the young superheroine to do really accurate investigating with her digital camera.
"What a pain," Hurricane mumbles under her breath, standing atop one of the large crates and really seeming to try to get some good snapshots of anything suspicious. It looks like it's going to be a bust for the time being!
Outside on the deck, Katelynn Molina is doing a little practicing of her fighting style, attacking imaginary opponents while attempting to test herself for different kinds of situations. She seems to be enjoying herself, but there's nothing really suspicious about her behavior. Unless, of course, Himeko thinks she's seeing things or has gone crazy.
What's about to happen is what we call 'victim of circumstance'. Hime hadn't noticed Katelynn for a bit, and when she does, the woman is actually just a little bit blurry. Hime tries zooming in a bit, and once close enough snaps a picture.
When the picture is taken this is the -exact- moment that a seagull swoops in front of the shotokan fighter, practically in front of her face and then zooms off back into the sky after realizing the woman wasn't food!
Hime waits for the image to unflash and this incident makes Katelynn look like she has.. DEVIL HORNS because of that blurr! "W- W-- WOAH! This is definatly suspicious!" the girl declares, her scarf standing straight up in with her suprise! And before Katelynn knows it? Suddenly two trading cards are whizzing in the air and dig into the ground by her feet!
"Hold it!" the heroine booms.
The combination of the seagull, the camera snapping, and the trading cards are more than enough to turn Katelynn's attention to Himeko. Almost immediately, she gives her a stern look and says, "And just what do you think you're doing?" The look on her face indicates that Katelynn is not too thrilled about having her practice interrupted by Himeko. She folds her arms.
"Are you always this annoying to other people? Or do you have a thing against Shotokan Karate practitioners?" Whatever it is, it's obvious that Katelynn is not playing around here.
"Hah! You just wait and see!" the young fighter blurts back, crouching for just a second and then she springs off of the crate, taking the air, flipping twice, "YAHOOOOI!!" and lands on the deck in another, much more heroic and pose-y crouch! Her eyes snap upward to face Katelynn's upper half. "You seem pretty agitated, agitated as if I had caught you in the act of your little satanic ritual.. Normally I just battle human beings, but I suppose today will be an exception! Also yes, I do have a thing against shotokan practicioners, it's a style that lacks sorely in saikyo technique but that's not the point here! Demon girl, I am Hurricane Hime! State your name and occupation!"
"Demon girl?!" Katelynn scowls very noticeably at Himeko. "Who do you think you are, calling me a demon?! Do you think I'm related to that Akuma freak that I always hear about but never see?" She clenches her fists. "Oh, and you take Saikyo-Ryu?! Give me a break, that stuff is more fake than pro wrestling!" She shakes her head. "If you must know my name, I'm Katelynn Molina, and I'm a Shotokan Karate master." She seems very annoyed by Himeko's presence now, especially seeing how she's a practitioner of Saikyo-Ryu.
The little hurricane gets to her feet and tosses her digital camera lightly in her palm, a rather confident and wide grin on her face as she listens to Katelynn. Though that smile is wiped right off, she taking a small step back as she looks utterly horrified.
"Wh- WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????"
This woman did not just diss her fighting style! Suddenly Hime isn't looking all that friendly, which makes her more biased, "Demon Lord Katelynn, you've definatly gone too far with that comment if you were trying to prove your innocence! This obviously can only be settled with a grade 'A' butt kicking!"

"I would love to see you try to kick my butt. But you think I'm a Demon Lord?! How dare you say such a thing to me!" Katelynn is now very angry that someone could insult a person of her standing. She holds a third degree black belt, and if someone were to call her that in the dojo, they'd be doing five-hundred knuckle push-ups. But this isn't the dojo. This is the Suiryuu, and if Himeko wants to fight, it's a fight she'll get!
Without wasting any further time, Katelynn throws a forward kick with her right leg, and with her left foot she propels herself swiftly through the air at Himeko.

Wait a moment what is that? Hurricane Hime is grinning again! This is clearly because she is confident that she isn't going to lose, even if matched up against a shotokan fighting demoness! And why?
"You bet I will! You see, the camera doesn't lie, I have photographic evidence that you are a demon! Ha ha haaa!" Hime slips her camera into her fannypack in one smooth motion as Katelynn dashes forward, and the other whips out her book of constuction paper out of her scarf. A paper handle pops from it, and when she grips the black handle, she rips out a buster sword-like blade of paper, colored pink and yellow, that Katelynns feet slam into hard, and only succeeds in pushing back the small fighter a step or two, "You kick.. With the skill of a totem pole!"
Himeko shoves the sword back into her book, and as she does this, twists around to try and shove the heel of her foot into Katelynn's back with a pretty skilled back kick, "Try this!"

Just as the kick is about to hit Katelynn's back, the Shotokan girl turns around quickly and catches the foot with her hand. The impact does hurt a little bit, but it's not enough to faze her. Smirking, Katelynn drops Himeko's foot and shakes her head. "I kick like a Totem Pole? Then you kick like a rock!" With that, Katelynn sends her left fist right at Himeko's jaw.

"Uh oh!" When Katelynn handles her kick so easily, Hime is a little worried, there's definatly skill behind those moves, she can tell it won't be as easy a fight as she originally thought. And then a left fist headed her way, a southpaw?
But it gives Hime an idea! The blow lands nicely, and hard enough to make her twist to the right, but this only aids in making her spin around faster so that when she's facing Katelynn again, the heroine is not only holding three different colored sheets of dully glowing paper, she's whipping them like frisbees at her opponents gut, "That's stupid, rocks can't kick at all! What's wrong with you, that's doesn't make sense!"

Katelynn tries catching the papers, which does hurt, but at least it reduces the injury she's sustained, and means that the attack didn't go as Himeko planned. Not to mention it gives Katelynn a very good opportunity for a counter-attack. Bringing her right fist back, she charges her mental energies into it, and then thrusts it forward, sending a blue sphere of chi right at Himeko's stomach.

"Hmmn, so you aren't denying it now, or are you waiting for a- Woah!" Again Katelynn suprises the Hurricane, her defensive moves are unorthodox; but unorthodox enough to mess up Hime's style? Hopefully not!
The pink-clad girl is quick, with her hands free she can withdraw her book again, and let the others fist slam into it! The odd thing being upon impact, it doesn't bend- It's like punching a wall! And it seems to absorb the energy like the worlds most powerful sheet of Bounty paper towels, "Hurricane Defense!!"
But she's quick, Hime will not only attempt to turn around, but also grab the extended arm so she can flip the girl right over her back and slam her to the ground, a well executed ippon seoinage!

You have to be careful when trying to throw Katelynn, since she's known for her unique counterattacks. Including the one she just used on Himeko, the Palm Blaster. She crouches down and then thrusts her palm, with chi added to it, at the girl's stomach, which should give Katelynn some breathing room while sending Himeko back a bit.
"Yeow!!" Hime doesn't know what just hit her but it wasn't very pleasent at all! The moment Katelynn's palm nails her it isn't a plesent feeling and the force behind it is enough to send her reeling back and crashing onto her side, just short of hitting a crate. "H- Hah, that was a pretty good move.. It could be better though, it lacks pizzaz! Watch me!"
She kip-ups to her feet, and makes a break toward her opponent, but she'll have to be a little more careful! This time she kicks off the ground, tucks in her knees and starts spinning like a maniac forward, "Hurricane!! Rolling!!!!!"

Katelynn is fast to block the incoming attack, meaning that her forearms absorb most of the damage, which is very small to begin with. As a result, she finds herself barely moving backwards. But she's still starting to feel a bit on the weakened side. So she steps back a little to take the time to catch her breath.

Hurricane Hime bounces off of Katelynn's guard it seems, and she has just barely enough control to spin and land on her feet! Though she windmills her arms a bit, "W- Woah! Hah, that well well executed, I'm so cool!!" she cries, clapping her hands in approval.
But then she looks a little more serious, striking a pose with her hands on her hips, and then doesn't hold up even if Katelynn looks a little bushed! She leaps up into the sky and flips again, though this time she has a folded paper fan in hand unsheathed from her back. Her intent is to swap it down as hard as humanly possible down onto Kate's head! "Hime's Technique of Certain Death!!" If it lands? FWAP!!

Oof! That smarts... barely.
Katelynn staggers back a little, more startled than injured by the attack that came from Himeko just now. She rubs at her head, which doesn't really hurt that much, and then stares at Himeko for a moment, like she's totally confused at what the girl just did to her. After a moment, Katelynn throws a rather strong looking kick aimed right at Himeko's jaw!

A strong looking kick? Hime clearly isn't intimidated by the technique, she just smirks as it comes forth and she reaches toward her fannypack again.
Perhaps she shouldn't have blinked though, because the moment she does, the dang foot meets Hime, and meets her hard, "OOOF!!" The girl goes reeling back, twirling into the air and slams not only into but THROUGH the crate behind her! The girl falls onto her back, slides a little more and hits a second crate, though the momentum is enough to stop her cold there. Now it's her turn to look utterly confused, laying in an utter daze, "Wh- Wh... Wha happened??"
Looks like Himeko isn't as skilled as she thought she was. It appears that Katelynn has the upper hand again. She would take a moment to taunt her opponent, but one can't waste precious time in a match like this. Then again, there could be some kind of secret trap waiting for Katelynn in that daze. So she takes a moment to watch upon Himeko and see what she has planned.

It takes a moment, but Hime is back up on her feet, and she's holding her jaw as she winces. What the heck kind of kick was that anyway?? It looks like it's time for the heroine to start getting a little tactical anyway, she's got a little time, so she's going to use it to the best of her ability! How?
By taking a moment to EXAM CRAM! She turns her back to Katelynn and draws out a small notebook, flipping through her notes. "Ok ok let's see.. Kicks.. Kicks.."

Hitting the books, are we? Well, you'd best be careful, because Katelynn wrote the book on technique. And this is one that Himeko will definitely remember for awhile. Katelynn drops into a crouch and then attempts to deliver a foot sweep, but just before the foot connects, Katelynn pivots on the extended foot and brings her other foot around in an effort to trip Himeko using the actual sweep!

Studying? Fighting? Himeko's great at multi-tasking! When the heroine thinks she hears Katelynn approaching, she looks over to see the woman, "Zounds!" It's a tricky move, but her eyes aren't fooled, the entire technique is stopped by her dropping into another crouch and thrusting her arms down so it's kind of like dealing with a weird double-kick. Looks like she's going to have to pick up the pace here, and she plans to do so by lunging forward to grasp the shoulders of Katelynns gi, and rather sloppily twist and fling her against the crate her body didn't break! "How about this!!"

That's a pretty expensive gi, mind you, so don't go messing with it. Katelynn attempts to brace herself for the impact, but ends up mistiming it all, and ends up landing harder on the deck than she anticpated she would. Nonetheless, she manages to get up through a kippup, and turn towards Himeko. She then attempts to grab her by the shoulders and bring her foot behind Himeko's. If successful, she'll trip up Himeko's foot, leaving her off balance while pushing her away at the same time, sending her to the deck like she did to Katelynn!

Hurricane looks a little thoughtful. Katelynn is pretty good with throws herself, those throws and strikes are a dangerous combination in the hands of her opponent! So what can Hime do? She's got to pick up the pace, no choice!
The heroine is grasped, but her stance is solid.. Too solid! When Kate's kick hits Hime's leg it simply doesn't budge! "Hah, I know how to deal with throws too!" She boasts as she staggers back.
And now Himeko's striking back, she sweeping to get behind Katelynn and there's a rope made of paper in her hands! She tries leap up and press her knees into Katelynn's back while wrapping the paper around the womans throat to choke her out!

Now that's something that would make for a great assassination maneuver. Except that Himeko's not exactly what Katelynn would call an assassin. Especially when she can reutilize her Palm Blaster to get some more space between herself and Himeko.
And there goes Hime! With another yelp the pink-clad girl is flying and lands on top of one of the crates this time, bouncing off of it! When she stands up she looks visably frustrated as she shakes her head, "This is crazy! No ones defense is this good, I call shenanigans!!!" she cries, slamming her fist on the crate.
Think, Hime, think!! There's got to be a way to even things up! She thinks she has an idea though, and now she's leaping toward Katelynn again, this time with the intent of coming at her with a flying kick! Should it land, she lands as well, whipping out three side-kicks to finish her combination! "Hyah! Hah! HYAAAH!"

Again with the strikes, and Katelynn doesn't seem to mind blocking them. Except for the fact that she's starting to run low on steam again. But this time, instead of just catching her breath, she decides to take the opportunity to increase her chi. She closes her eyes and begins to focus intently, a bluish aura radiating from her.

Katelynn's hanging back a little? No wait it's something more! She doesn't know what the glowing is all about, but if she's getting another chance to strike, she'd better take it! "O- Ok! It's time... It's time!!" she yells!
Himeko then holds out her book, between her palms. "Ready! Aim! FIRE!!" And blue, black, white, purple, orange! Glowing pages of paper shoot rapid-fire at Katelynn like a machinegun hopefully hailing down on the fighter like woah, fifteen shots total! Her scarf flaps behind her mightily as she grins, "Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!"

Whoa, now that's something that Katelynn never expected to see: Pages flying at her from a text book? That's a new one on her. Even though she tries to catch the pages, she still takes a few hits and is sent staggering backwards, but does that mean she's stunned? Far from it. She's just getting to the good point.
Bringing both fists back, she focuses her chi into them, and then thrusts them forward with a bigger-than-usual sphere of chi, aimed right at Himeko's stomach again!

Not entirely stunned?? Kate is tough, there's no doubt about that, but Himeko thinks she's starting to get a better turn of luck! The heroine grins to her opponent, motioning her to come and come she does! A sphere of chi?
Kate's blast meets her textbook once more, slamming into the very unusual shield! It can't absorb it easily, in fact it keeps pushing Hime backward until it dissipates!
The heroine groans lightly, feeling a nasty buzzing in her arms and slouches just a little as she flips through her book again. Time to review her tactics again really quick, it'll only take a moment!

Seems that Himeko is starting to get worn out a little, and that's exactly what Katelynn wants to see. Her opponent is on their last ropes, and that means victory is at hand. But Katelynn is starting to feel worn out as well. Hence the reason she does the same thing as her opponent.

Huff huff. Himeko is in a bit of a pinch!
The heroine takes a look at her options at Katelynn backs off, and finally she decides to go ahead and run at Katelynn one more time, "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!"
Time to go for broke!! She reaches into her thigh holster to whip out two handfulls of trading cards, throwing one toward Katelynn's eyes to blind her! ... And that's when she starts her work, to grasp at Kate's hips, making her twirl like a drill until she's surrounded by a tornado of paper and crushed within it!

Katelynn does read all about it, even if it is hard on her eyes. But she's learned a lot today, namely how to take on an opponent who uses rather unorthodox maneuvers. Katelynn has also learned how to endure attacks better than she used to before. But enough of that, let's get back to the fight, shall we?
As soon as all is said and done, Katelynn wastes no time in throwing a kick with her left foot while pushing off with her right foot, flying directly at Himeko with a foot aimed at her face!

A flying kick.. This is the moment she's been waiting for!! Hime has another handful of cards as she points to Katelynn, "Ah but you didn't count on my TRAP CARD!!"
Hime bursts forward, ready to strike, but.. Well, she misses. It's very embarassing. This leaves her slamming into Katelynn's foot, and then flying backward crashing one more time into those crates, bursting one of them open, and is left laying on her back looking completely dazed again. What... What just happened?? ".. Ow."
Katelynn reaches down to help her opponent up. "You fought well, I must say you have a very unique style of fighting. I learned a lot about my defensive abilities, and you helped me to work out where I need to improve." She smiles. "Maybe you're not as wimpy as I thought. I take back what I said about your style. It's unique and it's powerful."
Himeko sits up to rub the back of her head, wincing.. But she looks suprised when Katelynn offers a hand up! And... And wait did she just compliment her? The heroine suprised, she accepts the hand as she stands, and grins, looking quite proud of herself, "Yeah see, I told you Saikyo is.. Is.. IS RUDE!!"
She gives Katelynn a thumbs up, "Hmn, well I guess I'll let the fact that you're a demon go too, since you're a pretty nice one. Your secret is safe with me so that said... ADIEU, DEMON LORD KATELYNN! We'll meet again!"
Hurricane Hime poses, turns and leaps into the air, then leaps off of the crate to vanish into the fog! Godspeed, Hurricane Hime!
A shrug and a smirk from Katelynn. "Whatever," She says, grinning. She then heads off to get a drink of water or something and to maybe get in a shower after a long and grueling match.
