SNF 2007.09 - Hayato vs Maxima, CA: Birdie

Description: What happens when Hayato, Maxima and Birdie all get together to fight on a football field? Probably a lot of pain, but in case something shocking happens, you should read the log!! DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY. (Draw Match)

It's a bright, sunny day out today. The sky is lit up a delightfully bright shade of blue by the luminosity of the sun as its rays pierce down relentlessly into the ground below. The skies are clear, and there is only a faint breeze that comes rarely to offer some semblence of coolness. It's swelteringly hot out today, but that should go without saying.
It IS Texas, after all.
There is little comfort from the relentless heat here at Texas Stadium today, but that shouldn't really effect the people using it today. Fans line the stadium seatings as camera crews rotate around the wide, pristine field of green that encompasses this field / makeshift arena. People hoop and holler, as others just sweat uncomfortably and wait for a beer -- likely unaware or uncaring that its not going to do much to alleviate their thirst. And just what do they cheer for? A football game? No... today, they cheer for an eventual Saturday Night Fight.
The hulking Canadian known simply as Maxima had taken his position some time ago. Being a man who likes to get to where he needs to be on time, if not a little earlier, Maxima has been taking this time to simply prepare, stretching out as he needs to. The heat doesn't affect him; in fact, it probably affects him less than even the other fighters here today. Being mostly machine has certain perks. One of them happens to be an unusually high tolerance to the surrounding environment.
And so, the huge Canadian waits, a simple smile crossing his lips as he clasps his hands behind his head, and looks all around him. Such publicity could be bad for him, he realizes... but his grin doesn't betray a thing.
It's time to enjoy a good fight.

The stadium isn't quite filled to capacity, but there's still a pretty good crowd out here today. Many of the same people interested in football also have an interest in combat sports. There are actually a few fantasy Neo Leagues out there, where groups of people make teams of fighters and advance them based on how those fighters are scoring. SNF doesn't lend itself as well to such things, but it's still plenty of fun to watch.
Hayato is on the field and ready, doing some leg stretching exercises as he waits for the fight to start. Even without the benefit of built in air conditioning or whatever Maxima might have, the Burning Phys-Ed teacher doesn't seem to be unduly bothered by the heat. He's even wearing his red track suit with the long-sleeved jacket and showing no signs of discomfort.
After a few more stretching exercises Hayato pops up to a standing position, resting the business end of his shinai against his shoulder as he peers out at the crowd and around the arena itself. American football isn't one of his more frequently practiced sports, but he certainly knows the rules and he's got the build for it. It'd be fun to give some of the professionals who make use of this arena a try... But that will have to wait for another time. Right now he's got two men who are even larger than he is to deal with. Hayato gives Maxima a wide grin, lightly tapping the shinai against his shoulder. "Beautiful day for a fight, isn't it?"

Birdie's here, his ego beaten by two girls and a large, electrifying monster, but here none the less. Feeling better and looking all too pissed, he's perfect for his roll today in the SNF. That is, to lash out at anybody and anything that moves. But in this case, just Hayato and Maxima.

Released like a rabid wolf into the stadium, Birdie struts down the sidelines and into the center of the football field. The heat beaming down on him doesn't really bother him. Probably because he's not wearing much other than his pants and his vest. Everything else is bling that might as well be a part of him.

Looking towards Maxima, he remembers him from the match against Haggar. He let Haggar get to him, and then the rest is history. Birdie is bad against white men wearing less than he is. Damn suspenders.

Hayato, Birdie has no clue who he is, but he reminds him of a gym teacher. Or something like that. Birdie really can't place it, nor does he care. This is a perfect change to get his rage out.

"Alright then, lets bloody get it started already! If your gonna talk, talk. But if your going to fight, bloody do it already." He's edging them on, even though they /just/ got there. Because if it isn't instant, it's not fast enough for Birdie. He also stops not too far from the others. Arms folded, watching.

Well, it IS just about time to get started. Noting the approach of Birdie's familiar face, Maxima squints, recalling the rules of the fight. So this one is supposed to be the 'Chaos Agent,' then? Well... that just makes things even more interesting! Rolling either of his shoulders in a mild practice of habit, the powerful Canadian pauses... and then smiles, lowering himself and offering a polite nod towards Hayato.
"Sure does feel like it! Now don't hold back on me, alright? I'm gonna give this all I've got."
From there, Maxima's eyes give all that he needs to know. His mind is a veritable database of information, pulling up files on both Hayato and Birdie, making estimations on abilities, strengths -- everything pertinent. He absorbs it all with uncanny ability, and all with a simple smile on his face. The data is shunted out of his mind. He knows what he needs to know.
This is going to be a close match.
Opting to wait for the other to come to him this time around, Maxima brings a gloved hand forward, beckoning Hayato towards him. "Well," he begins simply, "guess we should get this started, eh?"

Hayato taps his shinai against his shoulder as he nods with a grin. "Any moment now..." He takes a moment to give Birdie a friendly nod, and then the referee (standing on the sidelines where it's safe) blows on his whistle. A suitable way to start, given the environment. With a loud, boisterous laugh Hayato charges across the field toward Maxima. With their starting positions near the 50 yard line, it doesn't take long before he's closed the distance between them.
Now, Maxima's a big fellow, and Hayato's only armed with a bamboo sword. Many people have underestimated the Nekketsu Shinai, though. In Hayato's hands it can be more dangerous than a real sword wielded by most people... when he wants it to. But Hayato doesn't hold back in fights, so a real sword could be unfortunately messy. This does leave a bit of a problem for Hayato when dealing with massively built people like Maxima, though. He's fairly sure he can /hurt/ him, but the Canadian might be able to force his way through the blow to attack back. Luckily Hayato /does/ have other methods of attack.
Case in point, he leaps into the air as he gets within a few feet of Maxima, lashing out with his right foot in a textbook leaping kick. He attempts to drive the sole of his running shoe right into the center of Maxima's face. The guy's big, but he can't be covered in muscle everywhere, right?

COMBATSYS: Hayato successfully hits Maxima with Strong Kick.

Not covered in muscle everywhere, but then... that's likely not what Hayato should really be concerned with. As the Burning Phys Ed teacher makes a break for it across the ground, Maxima lowers himself down, preparing for the incoming strike. It seems, though, he doesn't brace himself quite well enough; before he can really bring himself to properly respond to Hayato's assault, he's already being SLAMMED in the face by a mighty running shoe. "Ooph--!"
A grunt escapes Maxima as he wheels backwards across the ground, his right hand clenching. "Nice strength behind that shot, there!" And a solid burst of speed to accompany it, too. Not even hesitating for a moment, Maxima rushes -forward- as soon as he recovers from the blow. Oddly enough, he isn't bleeding anywhere; it may just be that Hayato didn't hit him hard enough, an easily explained oddity.
As soon as he's close enough, Maxima lashes out, seeking to clamp his arms around Hayato as if going in for a hug. If it's successful? He'll just start appling a good deal of pressure in one mighty, Canadian bearhug. Feel the love.

As Hayato throws himself at Maxima, Birdie just watches. He did give Hayato a friendly nod in return, but attached was a wild grin, like he's about to enjoy his job too much for it to be a real job.

As everything begins, and Hayato is on the offensive, Birdie begins to move. A simple walk instead of a run or a sprint. He's not trying to really stress the two fighters senses as much as he can. It's a fight between them. Not him. He's here to do a simple job.

Maxima will find out first which, but Hayato will first hand.

As Maxima picks up, or tries to grab the burning Phys. Ed. teacher, Birdie comes up from behind, and literally lashes out with a single punch, right for the back of his head.

COMBATSYS: Maxima successfully hits Hayato with Quick Throw.

Just a few moments after his feet are on the ground again, Hayato finds himself getting wrapped up in Maxima's powerful arms. He attempts to brace his arms against the crushing force, but isn't able to get them into a sustainable defensive position in time. And of course, this leaves him little in the way of defensive options as Birdie comes up from behind and drives a punch into the back of his head, slamming Hayato's face into Maxima's collarbone.
"Not bad, but-!" Hayato doesn't even attempt to squirm free of Maxima, just pushing with his arms enough to lock his hands behind the Canadian's back. If he can manage a secure grip, Hayato presses his feet firmly against the turf of the field, then leans back with a grunt of effort. Maxima's pretty heavy, but not so heavy that the Burning Phys-Ed teacher can't suplex him into the field. And if Birdie doesn't get out of the way, well, accidents happen.

COMBATSYS: Maxima fails to interrupt German Suplex from Hayato with Maxima Lift.

Grip secured, Maxima fortunately doesn't seek to hold on to it for too long; just long enough to deliver enough crushing punishment. Afterwards, he simply releases Hayato, freeing the man to let him push and then -- well, grip. It seems that the large Canadian is attempting to do something, to stop the other man preemptively, but it just doesn't end up working out as he might have thought it would. Thus, he is gripped, and in an impressive display, Hayato grips and lifts, well -- four hundred and eighty three pounds of cybernetic metals.
Maxima doesn't really have time to ponder over this fact, however, as he is suddenly suplexed into the ground. Even Hayato should feel that the man is far heavier than someone should be at his height and build -- far heavier than just about -any- normal person should be, irregardless of height and build. Still, Maxima is introduced into the ground in a sudden, painful slam, rolling backwards and into a crouch as he shakes his head free. Whoof -- that stung.

Even Hayato lifts up the man, Birdie's backing up. He's not going after him this round. Just the other guy. As he does back up through, he only watches as Maxima get heaved up and over and slammed into the ground. As Maxima is slammed, it's a wonder than he just gets manhandled like that. Thought, in the fight against Haggar, even Birdie was put to shame. Not that Birdie is much at all.

Still, Birdie watches Maxima go down... and decides to send another punch flying for Hayato. Since as he throws it, Maxima's moved out of the way, just in time.

"Phew..." Hayato has to pause for a moment to let the ache in his arms subside after throwing Maxima around. He can lift heavier weights, but he wasn't quite expecting the man to be /that/ massive. "What the heck do you eat, pal?" And then there's Birdie again. Hayato doesn't take offense to the attack; as far as he's concerned, Birdie can be considered a natural hazard for the course of this fight. He attempts to duck out of the way of the blow, but Birdie's fist catches him on the jaw, sending him staggering a step off to the side.
Rolling his neck for a moment, Hayato grins at Birdie. "C'mon, no need to hold back on my account!" He then turns his gaze to Maxima. They're still a long way from either endzone, so there's no real point in trying to move him around, so Hayato will just have to wait for him to get up. Clenching his fist tightly on the grip of his shinai, Hayato squares his shoulders and braces his legs, a swift breeze blowing up and ruffling his clothing as waves of orange chi begin to radiate off of his body. "Now that we're both warmed up, it's time to get serious!"

COMBATSYS: Hayato gathers his will.

Ah, this maneuver. Maxima knows it well enough, just from being partnered with K' for so long. He sees the sharp increase in energy and power more clearly than other people might, taking note of the rejuvinating effects of Hayato's body with a slight frown. He's going to have to even up the battlefield a little bit. He laughs at Hayato's words as his hands scrape across the ground, eyes shutting.
"A whole lot of Wheaties."
Coming to a full stand, the Canadian offers a passing glance towards Birdie, before focusing the bulk of his attention on his opponent. Hayato. Offering an amiable grin, Maxima rubs the back of his neck, seemingly preparing himself for something. "Get serious? Alright..."
And then? Maxima is running across the field. His intent is simple. With a single leap, Maxima is airborne at an impressive height, his hands jutting out to either side of him. As he descends, the intent is pretty clear: he's going to fall down, and he's going to fall down RIGHT on top of Hayato in one hellacious bodyslam, bringing the full brunt of his weight against the other fighter. He figures the man can take it. He looks burning tough, after all!
"Let's get serious!"

Birdie rears back as he strikes Hayato again. Just bam. Even if he strikes the man, his fist sort of glances off. Hayato is built tough. That's for sure. Birdie's going to half to keep that in mind if he ever has to face the teacher in the future. "Yeah, well, I'm just gettin' started." Birdie states as he now looks towards Maxima. And what does he do? Well, he goes right after him of course.

As Maxima is giving all his attention towards Hayato, Birdie comes up behind him. And as he leaps down with a body slam towards Hayato, hit or miss, Birdie's going for it.

As Maxima's flat on his chest, or so Birdie thinks he might be, he lifts up a single, massive leg and stomps down towards Maxima, trying to crush him into the earth, and maybe even Hayato, in a single motion. Man he loves this job.

Hey, where did the sun go? ...Oh.
But Hayato is not daunted. "It's not going to be that easy!" He laughs as he draws his fist back, driving a fierce punch up towards Maxima's face as the Candian comes crashing down. It's pretty hard to continue on a straight path when you've got someone's hand in your face. On the other hand, it's hard to punch someone when they are falling toward you at high speed. Hayato's fist glances harmlessly off of Maxima's shoulder as the full weight of the cyborg comes crashing down on the gym teacher, driving him into the Astroturf with a grunt. Then, just as Hayato starts to get his breath back, Birdie stomps down on top of both of them, knocking the wind out of him again.

WHAM.
The actual sound of Maxima landing into Hayato is a bit different than that. Coming off as something more along the lines of an earth-shattering BOOM, the full weight of the cyborg comes bearing down on Hayato and then just SLAMS the both of them into the ground, successfully averting any pain that Hayato could have further driven into poor Maxima. The impact causes the ground to indent most-grievously as the two land, and Maxima exhales deeply, shaking his head free of astroturf and dirt. Whew. That always takes a load out of him.
But before he can react further, Birdie is closing in with that huge leg of his, seeking to crush it into him with a sudden stomp. Maxima, however, is quick to react, those censors picking up on that movement before it can actually close in. A massive forearm is there to greet Birdie's foot, letting it harmlessly deflect off that thick, blue leather, with only a small grunt of effort afforded for Birdie's efforts on the part of Maxima. Quick guy, this Birdie!
Soon enough, though, Maxima is back up onto his feet. He is quick to press his offensive; as soon as Hayato gets back up, the Canadian will drive -forward-, thrusting his fist at the Phys. Ed. teacher in what appears to be a straightforward punch. Inches before that fist can connect, though, something odd happens. Maxima's wrist begins to literally expand -out-, blossoming into a series of deadly armcannons that proceed to fire off a round of massive, highly-pressurized steam -- steam that will impact against Hayato's chest with incredible, kinetic force.

Hotaru heads to Canada.

As the foot comes down, an arm comes up. Birdie's amazed how fast the man could react. The foot is stopped dead, the block destroying any forward momentum that Birdie had to begin with. Peddling backwards, Birdie gives them enough time to get up. And well, Maxima is already attacking Hayato as soon as he does get to his feet.

"Go harder? Heheheh. You bloody asked for it." Birdie answers as he begins to pound his way towards the Gym leader, actually rushing at him now. In his attempt to get at the gym leader, Birdie actually unravels is chain before throwing it towards Hayato's feet, aiming to pull, ensnare, and drop him to the ground under his own weight.

Admittedly this would probably work better on Maxima, if Birdie could actually move him, that is.

The next few moments are tricky. Hayato is charging toward Maxima, when he suddenly finds himself in a cloud of high pressure steam. By throwing his arms up in a defensive position he's able to block some of it, but it makes it difficult to detect the incoming chain from Birdie. It wraps around Hayato's legs, yanking his feet out from under him and he hits the ground hard.
It only takes a moment for Hayato to get the soles of his feet pressed against the ground, though, and that's all the he needs. He doesn't even bother trying to get his legs untangled as he shoves off, launching himself toward Maxima. He puts a twist into his leap as his feet leave the ground, sending him into a spin as he flies toward the Canadian, fiery chi engulfing his body as he whirls about, shinai extended. Of course, this is probably only going to serve to entangle his legs even further... and it remains to be seen what's going to happen when Birdie's chain runs out of slack.

There's a sudden surge in power that comes from Hayato, that Maxima notes -just- before the man plows right into him like a pain train. That distinctive, pushing twist slams DIRECTLY into the Canadian fighter before he can properly react, bringing to bear that full, impressive force of physical might and chi. It brings Maxima's feet dragging across the grass, digging deep furrows into the ground as dirt and turf flies everywhere until finally, even the massive Cyborg can't stand his ground any more.
Sent on an unpleasant trip, Maxima eventually lands in a booming heap some yards from his goal line. Muttering something to himself, he comes to a slow stand, his body smoking from the sheer energy output in the strike. Squinting in Hayato's general direction, he tries to make out just what has happened to the man, and Birdie's chain. As he does? His massive hands come to rest on his leather jacket, slowly prying the front open to reveal his blue-clad chest.
"Well... they're gonna see it eventually," he says to himself. "Might as well give them a crowd pleaser."
Words leave his lips even as something entirely unexplainable begins to occur: Maxima's broad chest begins to -open up- as if made of compartments rather than flesh, splitting and rotating away from his front torso to reveal something entirely else underneath: a massive cannon, glowing brilliantly with cerulean energy. "Hey!" Maxima calls out towards Hayato. "You get to experience a world-premiere!" Hayato wanted everything he's got, and now? He gets to have it.
As soon as Maxima's declaration is made, that cannon begins humming. With little prep time, it simply releases a MASSIVE beam of sapphire and white chi from its depths, a beam almost as large as Hayato is tall. The intent? To just engulf the teacher in it with such explosive force as to send him flying, perhaps even over those touchdown posts. Looks like Maxima is going for a goal, here.
Apparently with two footballs, because of Birdie is unfortunately in the path of that beam, too. BOOSH.

Rugal has no idea how to use his channel.

Birdie's chain gets locked around Hayato's legs. And when he begins to spin, well, Birdie's pulled with him. Even a he sinks his feet down into the ground, he's pulled along as if he was a hoe and Hayato was a mule. He just keeps getting closer and closer towards the man as he spins, and finally, something happens. Oh, boy does it happen.

Maxima goes nuclear, and Birdie's in the range now thanks to his chain getting stuck on Hayato. "YO. WHAT THE BLOODY HE-" Birdie gets to say before Maxima literally begins to open up his chest and turn it into a massive cannon. Birdie pauses, and then focuses quickly on doing the one thing he knows how to do.

Literally disconnect the chain from the gauntlet. It's a long shot, but it might work. But with little work, it snaps, letting Birdie have control once more. Raising his arms to block, the white chi engulfing the man as he's driven backwards, his arms literally bleeding from the raw power. "Man... what the hell was that. Whatever, it's your turn! And this is a present from me!" Birdie calls as he literally begins to charge towards the man, machine, or whatever. Just /at/ him, head down, aiming to tackle him with the massive hair pierce right into his chest. And, well, basically gore him. What's not to get about that? He'll also yank it up to do more damage. If Maxima isn't fast enough.

The few seconds Hayato spends staring, wide-eyed at Maxima's opening chest cost him dearly. By the time the energy starts building up it's clear that this is going to be very bad, but it's also too late to do much about it. Hayato takes several quick steps forward and to the side, attempting to skirt around the edge of the beam, but to no avail. Even the outline of Hayato's body is blotted out as he's engulfed in the blast.
But when the light fades away, Hayato is still moving forward. He's bloody, his jacket is looking quite ragged, and one of his shoes is missing, but he's still charging in toward Maxima, shinai held high. As he closes in he swings out toward Maxima with the weapon, and it's just a question of whether he or Birdie get there first...

The gym teacher is a bit slow to the party, on account of getting blown up. But once Birdie knocks Maxima to the ground, Hayato is there to make sure the cyborg can't get back up. His shinai lashes down at any move Maxima makes, forcing him down into the ground no matter whether he tries to rise up, roll away, or just lay there and take it. He keeps this up for several painful moments, before finishing with a vicious kick. Or that is the intent, anyway.
Hayato winds up, then throws a kick to Maxima's side... With his bare foot. Normally this wouldn't be so bad, but his toes connect with something far less yielding than muscle or bone. Hayato's eyes bug out in shock, a cry of pain strangled in his throat before it can escape. And then the rest of his wounds catch up with him, causing the teacher to slowly topple over face first.

The problem with the Final Cannon is that, while damaging, it's a bit hard to recover from generating -that- high of a power output. It almost literally takes every ounce of concentration on Maxima's part, diverting all his power generated by that nuclear core that is his 'heart' into that gigantic cannon. In the aftermath, both combatants get to feel that horrible strength -- Hayato especially. And it leaves the Cyborg fighter... rather sadly vulnerable, when all is said and done.
His chest shutting as if it were the most normal thing in the world, Maxima only has a second to look up as metallic clicks wring out, his torso locking back into place. What he gets to see... is Birdie -barreling- into him like a man gone mad, and rightly so. That hairpiece slams into the unyielding metal of Maxima's chest, goring little more than synthetic flesh. But still, the damage there is apparent, cybernetic body or not. It causes Maxima to stagger, to topple onto one knee...
... just in time to get shinai'd to death. Not literally, but it might as well feel that way. The wooden weapon smashes into Maxima's back, sending him crashing face-first into the ground. He attempts to regain himself, only to be CRACKED with that shinai once again, and again, and again. It's obvious at this point that Maxima is pretty obviously beaten down -- just in time for Hayato to smack his unfortunately bare foot into unfortunately -not- flesh and bone sides.
As Hayato tumbles down into the ground with that call of pain, the Canadian attempts to get up, one more time. "M-Man... that... shtung... heh..." And then? He just topples down with a ground-shaking thud, obviously just as out of it as Hayato.

Birdie's done his job, but he got beat up for doing it. That damn cannon in Maxima's chest was one powerful beam. If he didn't break off that chain... speaking of which, after coming to a stop, Birdie moves to pick up his chain as Hayato scores the final blow on Maximo, leaving both to fall towards the ground. Those were some nasty push ups though. Birdie has to admit.

Once reaching the chains, Birdie reattaches it, before rubbing his hair to get whatever Maxima got on it. Afterwards, he just looks at both of the fallen men. "Damn. You're both bloody nuts. Even if most of his arms are roasted.
