JINCHUU: Round 2 - Intro (1/6) Fri Aug 31 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Though all found their way aboard the Suiryuu in due time, either by might, mind, or conspiracy.. now the real tournament begins, and this time, the goals are much simpler. Defeat your opponents, by any means necessary. Here, aboard the proleteriat's fighting ship, the next rounds are announced under the light of the full moon. Cards are handed out. Targets are designated.

But many of the matches are to be held in the dead of night. Worse yet, the ship is suffering from an unusual amount of mechanical malfunctions and interference. Each is addressed in turn. Each is explained in turn. All will be repaired by the time round three begins, they say. But can a mechanical malfunction explain the distinct feeling of /presence/ aboard the ship?

The Dark Tide has come in.

!! ROUND TWO MATCH DEADLINE IS: 11:59pm, Monday, September 10th
!! ROUND TWO BONUS MATCH DEADLINE IS: 11:59pm, Thursday, September 13th

First off, I really appreciate everybody who's been RPing and scening through the first round of Jinchuu. Really, you guys have been doing an awesome job of getting and submitting your scenes and we've really been having a blast reading them all. We're bringing the noise a little bit in our match setups for this week, to give you guys some stuff to chew over.

Not everyone got assigned matches this round. I do need to stress, before it ends up becoming an issue in my mailbox.. anyone who cannot verify that they're aboard the Suiryuu and actively participating in the plot cannot in fact get a bonus match. Additionally and pursuant to this, we're going to be pretty tough on getting our matches done. This is kinda a matter of necessity--tournaments are a very complex undertaking which require the mutual cooperation of everyone involved. Additionally, as we do strongly support people RPing and staying aboard the Suiryuu for the term of the plot (see the first round's notes for further info on this), this does mean that we're going to have to move the tournament along regardless of what matches are not done.

Also, it's my understanding that one or two of you opted out of the plot. We love you anyway!! And as for the remaining 8% of you, I've got some stuff for you guys on the cooker, but I need the RP on it to devleop first.

This does mean that occaisionally we're going to render administrative judgments on matches that don't or can't complete. Don't worry, folks who missed the gravy train can still get aboard the ship--work it out OOC with your opponent and get some RP going, let us know you're out there by submitting your logs (if it's not submitted, we don't know and it doesn't count) so we can get you assigned some matches. :D It's no big deal personally, but I do want to get you guys the hell off my boat at SOME point this year. :D No hard feelings, OK? :)

In accordance to that, anyone who didn't get their matches done who got reassigned to another match this segment can assume that the match either never happened, or something occured. Please discuss this with your opponent the next chance you have available. Whatever excuse works for your RP will be fine by us.

Also, as an aside, when sending us mail, I suppose it might be better to main /both/ Seishirou and Prime to assure you get the best results.

JINCHUU: R2 - Matches (3/6) Fri Aug 31 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HAKUYA vs. NAEROSE in "SUPERCONDUCTOR" - Down in the hold, strange things are afoot as you are shown to the industrial underbelly of the Suiryuu; its cargo holds. While you were scheduled to have your fight here, according to the ship's electrical crew (consisting of Riko in a hard hat,) this bay is currently the subject of a serious electrical malfunction in the ship's generator. The situation is grossly understated--most spectators are not allowed anywhere near this bay. It is extremely spectrasensitive right now, and the slightest movement of chi--even incidental channelling such as the kind from extreme effort or pain--could provoke a near lethal shock to jump from the hull to your body. Unfortunately, safety concerns don't deter the organizers.

PAS vs. ARANHA in "SPIRES" - The Suiryuu has made way across the isles of Japan. Here, in a secluded region of those waters, there is a peculiar rock formation on the coasts. Spires of towering rock, tall, thin and uneven, reach high into the skies. At midnight, with the Suiryuu generating an intense cloud of fog nearby, maintaining visibility is only possible at the tips of those spires, rising above the fog and into the night sky, lit by the full moon. However, that high there's no place to stand, really--a definite risk of falling into the waters below, which are filled with thick, sharp rocks. Cuttings made by some arcane force, shaping the spires above. This battle isn't staged on natural ground..

SOMA vs. AISLINN in "POOR RECEPTION" - Soma had conspired to lose his match against Kaiwei, being beaten soundly. Through no small amount of effort thereafter, he'd found the Suiryuu. The ship is difficult to find, near impossible to locate precisely in the daytime. But at night.. on this night? The air chills just enough to create a valuable opening. Soma can make an air drop here. Unfortunately, it seems he's been expected. The Suiryuu has a stock of surface-to-air shoulder-launch single-use rocket launchers for this exact purpose..

KAIWEI vs. VYLE in "NATURAL SELECTION" - Open sea. There's been no word why the ship is out here. You've just been given wetsuits. And told to get ready. Now you're on deck, and here comes one of the crew. But he's not carrying scuba gear or any sort of diving equipment. No, he's clutching a bucket - with a horrible putrid stench. He stops several feet away, grinning from ear to ear. He holds the bucket up, letting the contents slosh round. Chum. Pay close attention, he says. These are shark-infested waters. And this is what you'll be fighting in. A split second later, the entire deck will give way beneath your feet, the bow platforms shifting and sliding, dumping you into the ocean - along with fluid from the ship's tanks. Blood.

JINCHUU: R2 - Matches (4/6) Fri Aug 31 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HIMEKO vs. ZACH in "FROZEN HELL" - The ship's environmental systems...are malfunctioning. Or at least, that's what the crew says. You've probably already noticed how some cabins and compartments get...really cold at night, temperatures dropping without warning. Or reason. It's a heating problem, they say. But that can't explain the deathly chill. And it certainly can't explain why this chamber, down in the hold, in the ship's cargo space...is so very cold that it's FREEZING. The metal bulkheads coated in frost, dripping moisture from pipes and panels forming solid stalactites. The deck is frozen over, slick and slippery, and there's treacherously sharp growths of ice on every surface. This is where you must fight. And it's getting colder with every second...

NIKOLAI vs. ALAN in "WATERY GRAVE" - Back in the old days, sailors used to bail water out of ships with buckets and pumps. These days, in a modern vessel, excess water collects deep in the lower hull - in a bilge compartment. But the bilge of the Suiryuu is unusually large for a ship its size. Just enough for fighters to stand in, if they mind their heads and don't jump too much. The thing is, though...it /is/ a bilge compartment. That means there's water in it. Noxious water. Foul water. It smells bad. Thankfully, it's only ankle depth. Just sloshing around the bottom of the hull. At first. Of course, it also seems to be rising. Waist deep. Chest deep. Neck deep. Then all the way. But fighters have good lungs, right? You two can hold your breath until the match is over...right?

MARISOL vs. ARIKA in "THE TEMPEST" - It's cold up here. The wind whips through your clothes, the chill slicing down to the bone. It's a bad night. There's a storm, shrieking gale-force fury. Down below, waves pound against the hull, causing your footing to shift dangerously. The entire ship rocks. The rain comes down in solid sheets, soaking your skin, plastering your hair to your skull. Any sane person would be indoors. But no. You're out on deck, while the ship's on the open sea. Actually, you're far above the deck. Far, far above. Up in the ship's rigging. Hanging from one of the steel masts extending high over the hull. Amid the metal cords and aerials...

JINCHUU: R2 - Bonuses (5/6) Sat Sep 1 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BONUS MATCH! - TIFFANY vs. MOMO in "HEART ATTACK" - Tiffany, your arrival aboard the ship was mostly without incident. You've settled in, ahead of the official announcement of Round 2 matches. Right now, it's just marking time. So you're just heading back to your assigned cabin after a late dinner. It's a quiet night. Looks like most people on board have already turned in. And it's a dark night. Shadows through the corridor. Your feet drift across the deck, footsteps echoing in the silence. But then - from behind you. Movement. You start to turn...and that's when /it/ comes speeding at you. Straight towards your skull.

BONUS MATCH! - LUC vs. TENMA vs. ELLE (Free-For-All) in "GHOST MACHINE" - A sealed chamber. Deep within the ship's hull. Beneath the cargo compartments, almost among the engines - inside the belly of the beast. You had to crawl to get in here, through a narrow passage passing through the bulkheads. Now you're inside, in a small open space. The walls and floor are bare metal, with exposed welds and rivets. But the steel is etched deep with lines and shapes, loops and whorls, endless patterns of runic inscription. Sigals and seals. And they're glowing. Shifting. Moving. Crawling. As if alive. They're the only light in this chamber, a strange ghostly blue. But that's...not all. No. As the light flows over you, you feel...strange. It's not just light. It's chi. Some kind of chi. And it's all around you. You feel stronger. Faster. But, as you look around, it's clear your opponents are experiencing the same effect... (CSYS CONDITION: All fighters will gain super at a faster rate.)

BONUS MATCH! - TRAN vs. KYLE vs. HINATA (Free for All) in "FPS" - None of you made it aboard in the first round. Not really. But now that you're finally here...well, better late than never, right? It's evening now, and the stewards are directing you to the cabin deck. But not to the rooms, precisely. No, it seems the deck's been cleared of passengers. The corridors are empty. The compartments, all unlocked. You've been led to different areas of the deck - Tran, to one of the shower stalls in the bathroom. Kyle, to the very end of the passageway at the aft of the ship. And Hinata, inside one of the unoccupied cabins. You've been told that when the fight starts, you'll have to go looking for your opponents. So now, you're just waiting for the signal. And then...all the lights...go out, leaving you in complete darkness. Alone in the dark. But you're not alone, now are you? Keep moving? Or stay put? Hunt? Or be hunted? Your choice, but whatever you do, better make it fast.

JINCHUU: R2 - Bonuses (6/6) Sat Sep 1 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BONUS MATCH! - SADA vs. EVA vs. ICHIRO in "TRASH" - Some of you sought to conspire with your assigned opponents. An intelligent plan, one that avoids much unnecessary bloodshed. However, the truth which governs Jinchuu looks unkindly upon those who get caught doing so. You're roughly thrown into a cargo bay deep in the belly of the Suiryuu, you and three others. It is dark, it is dingy, and it is filled with the sick scent of rotting garbage. The watertight door shuts and seals from outside. All surfaces are made of thick reinforced steel. There is no way out. Then, the ceiling begins to glow, the only light in the bay: Kanji representing the term "Judgment." This is the trash compactor hold of the Suiryuu. The rules will be explained over the PA, by a tournament associate. Some of you started out on the top rankings of Jinchuu, with the easiest assignments. Now, regardless of your former station, you are on the bottom. There is only one rule: Only when there is one man conscious will you be let out of the compactor. You will fight your way free. Slowly, inexorably, the ceiling begins to fall.
(NOTE: Match must conclude in 15 rounds or less. (1 round=1 action from each fighter) People with low health beware.)

BONUS MATCH! - PRESTON vs. KENJI vs. KATELYNN in "HELL OR HIGH WATER" - The wood creaks ominously beneath your feet. You are standing on a large lumber raft pitched close to the Suiryuu, near the Suiryuu's hull. You've been assigned here for your first official fight. But there's a problem. This close to the ship during the tournament proper, the sealing marks aodorning the Suiryuu's hull crawl with spectral energy. It would be expiained that the field, through some electrical malfunction, is causing the platform you're on to smoulder. Even catching fire. What's most unnerving--for some reason, these fires are.. difficult to extinguish. Your instructions will be given over the Suiryuu PA: Defeat your opponents quickly, or you won't have much of an arena left to fight on.

BONUS MATCH! - KASUMI vs. HIRETSU in "SUPREMACY" - The enigmatic director of operations aboard the Suiryuu, he is said to have an absolute authority only second to Ryouhara and Koganei. However, he is rarely seen and even less heard, managing the crew and systems of the Suiryuu with little complaint. There are few things, it is said, that will draw Hiretsu from the depths of the Suiryuu's operations bridge. An airship crashing into the Suiryuu is one of them. While he's inspecting the wreckage, he notices the young Todoh was mis-assigned to wait for an opponent here. Oh, wait. It wasn't a mistake at all, was it...? (NOTE: Special fight. Seishirou will administrate OOCly.)

JINCHUU: Bunk Assignments Sun Sep 2 2007 Seishirou
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BUNK ASSIGNMENTS

Due to limited space aboard the Suiryuu, most agents of Jinchuu will be assigned crew quarters with at least one more person. Now that everyone's aboard, the reassignments have begun to fill out all available space. Here is how the cabins are laid out. (Note: This post may be edited from time to time in the event people leave, come aboard, or were missed by me. Also mind that this is not representative of the total amount of cabins the Suiryuu has--others are filled by NPCs and probably the 80 or so folks that I missed or aren't in my lists. Still more are.. mysteriously empty. Hmm.)
