SNF 2007.08 - Class Struggle! Hayato/Batsu+2

Description: A match between Hayato and Batsu turns to chaos as Roy runs in to strike Batsu with a steel chair, then gets distracted by... Roy?! (Winner: Hayato)

Ah, now /this/ should be a nice match. A good one-on-one between Hayato and one of his favorite students in Howard Arena! Why has such a fight been given such a major venue? Well, obviously it's because Geese has an appreciation for the Burning Spirit that Hayato and Batsu embody. And everyone wants to see a nice, clean, friendly, by-the-books fight, right? Yep. This should be nice.
While he waits for the fight to begin Hayato has been taking advantage of the time to do some one-handed handstand pushups, clutching his shinai in his free hand. The crowd seems to be loving the display, and Hayato winks at a few particularly attractive women in the audience who seem to be watching him. Hopefully Batsu's making good use of his own time before the fight begins, or Hayato might have to provide him with some pointers!

Batsu was a relative newcomer to this sort of thing. The whole grand nature of this whole 'Fighting Championship stuff' was pretty, uh, big to him? Up until now Batsu's been involved in random street brawls for the good of all High Schools everywhere. And ninjas. Bad ninjas who mind control with claws, and swords!

Quite frankly it made Batsu go >:| just thinking about it. His expression quickly brightens however! This fight is just going to be full of AWESOME.

Batsu yanks his spiked fighting gloves eagerly relishing this chance to fight his one and only teacher who gives him A's ever. Laughing with a boisterous burning spirit, Batsu runs out onto the field, raising his fist to the crowd.

"Yeah! Yeah! Woo!" It seemed like the only sensible thing to do to Batsu, as he strolled up into the center. "Hey, hey, sensei. ARE YOU READY TO ROCK!?"

Taiyo students are the primary spectators of this particular match, but that's definitely not to say that there aren't others here -- after all, it's a main event, and the schools of Southtown, while rivals, are at least friendly ones. Students from every school from Gedo to Justice have shown up here, and needless to say, they're out in full force tonight. High school students are the loudest of all demographics, and it definitely shows.

However, one man seems to move all too surreptitiously through the crowd. He's almost invisible, blending in perfectly -- there's only the smallest shock of blond hair, the faintest blip of red in the crowd to suggest he even exists at all. He moves around in a wide, lazy arc, perhaps trying to get a better view -- or perhaps trying to get closer to the ring.

Roy isn't in the arena right now. He's running late, having had to see to it that some of his junior classmates were properly cleaning the hallways and washing the windows down. He's just pulling his shiny red convertible into the parking lot as the match is getting underway, looking particularly slick and well-polished today.

COMBATSYS: Batsu has started a fight here.

Springing up from his handstand, Hayato lands easily on his feet with his shinai pointed toward Batsu. "I hope you're ready, Batsu! It's time to show all these people everything you've learned. No holding back, taking it easy, or it's a hundred laps around the campus!" A mild punishment, really. Being embarassed by giving a poor performance in a televised match is probably punishment enough. Not that Hayato really expects Batsu not to give his all. He's grinning widely as he speaks.
Hayato pulls his shinai back, resting the blade against his shoulder while he puts his left hand on his hip. He glances in the direction of the fight announcer, who flashes back a thumbs-up and then starts making the official announcement of the start of the fight. Hayato waits for a few moments until the announcements are finished, then flashes a grin to Batsu. "Here we go!" With a loud shout Hayato dashes forward, lunging at Batsu as he draws close. His shinai swings up and is then brought down fiercely toward the top of Batsu's head.

COMBATSYS: Hayato has joined the fight here.

Batsu flashes Hayato a grin, oh yeah, this guy is ready to bust some moves and kick a whole lotta ass. Don't you worry about that!

"No problem, sensei! This is going to be WAY more fun than homework!" Batsu cries out until Hayato declares what his punishment shall be if he loses. "A hundred laps!"

The laps were not the problem. The problem was doing them after Hayato kicked his ass, and after Raizo kicked his ass! Batsu gulps at the thought of a Raizo-punishment-fight followed by one hundred laps. Geeeze.

"A-alright! No way I'm going to lose then!" He declares, even as Hayato bears down upon him with the shinai. Oh god shinai Batsu winces, as he throws his arms up in defense, the bamboo sword crashes against his forearms leaving a long red mark across both of them.

>:|

Batsu immediately RAAARH's and goes on the offensive with a straight punch to Hayato's face.

Those red blurs become more frequent, and closer to the edge of the arena. Eventually, they finally come to a stop in one place, and they're easily visible for what they are: the vest of Roy Bromwell. He certainly /looks/ like Roy, at least -- that finely-done hair, that perfect watch, the vest nd jeans that were designed to look every bit like 'classy Terry Bogard.' For all anyone knows, this is Roy.

He watches Batsu with almost terrifying focus. There is not one moment, for a while, that his eyes aren't right on the fighter, watching him come at Hayato with that forceful punch. Yes, 'Roy' tells himself -- that's good. Overcommit a little. That'll make things easier. He keeps puzzling out every one of Batsu's movements, from the largest shift in weight distribution to the tiniest twitch -- he needs to know everything. If this doesn't work, it'll be a little harder to drive that needed wedge between Taiyo and Pacific... best to be careful.

COMBATSYS: Kurow focuses on his next action.

Roy finishes getting his ticket after paying for it with his credit card. He steps into the arena, putting his little AM radio earbud on so he can listen to the AM radio commentary rather than the TV commentary. The TV guys always suck. Radio guys do a better job of analyzing and naming key techniques, which is part of the reason Roy likes to see these in person. Roy figures that it won't start to get good right away, so takes the time to step over to the relatively vacant concession stand to load up. This is where Boman would have known to meet him. Roy owes him a hot dog.

COMBATSYS: Batsu successfully hits Hayato with Medium Punch.

In the all concealing shadows looms a dread avenger of the night, a sentinel of justice barred from the very society he sacrafices so much to protect, a lonley soldier of liberty crusading against the apathy of the modern age, he is...

"Kid, are you going to order or not?" Jimmy Cho, Hot Dog Guy extraordinare looks over...and realizes he is talking to someone's abs. He looks up, and up, and uuuuup, finally meeting the gaze of the gentle giant, Boman, who smiles a little sheepishly, his large, white teeth gleaming in the afternoon sunlight.

"I am afraid I do not have any compensation on me, sir." Boman booms in a thick bass, looking chastized, "But I am also afraid I cannot move until I see my associate here, as I had promised to meet him at this location. To do otherwise would make me a liar, which is a sin against the lord our God and generally a sign of poor socialization, no?"

"I, uh, whu, tall, big-pleasedon'trobmeyoucanloiterallyouwantkid!"

Boman speaks fluent Japanese, but at that speed, he doesn't quite catch the implication. Or maybe ignorance is bliss. "Well, thank you! I am certain my friend will make it worth your while. He has Mammon on his speed dial."

Hayato's still grinning at Batsu even as the student's fist slams into his face, sending him staggering back several paces. He's got little room to pay attention to 'Roy' walking around the outskirts of the fight. This fight is keeping him fully occupied. He shakes his head twice, then reaches up to wipe some blood away from his lip with the back of the left hand. From the looks of him, though, it's going to take a bit more than a punch like that to really bother him. "That's the spirit!"
Once more he charges toward Batsu, though this time he's a little bit trickier. As he draws close to the student he suddenly spins, attempting to pass right by Batsu, winding up behind him and facing him. Hayato then reaches out with both arms, attempting to wrap them around Batsu's torso. If he should manage to grab him, Hayato rears back to ram Batsu's head into the arena floor via a German suplex.

COMBATSYS: Batsu fails to interrupt German Suplex from Hayato with Guts Bullet.

Batsu is simply not observant enough to focus on two things at once when it comes to fighting. He just doesn't have the fighting experience to pay attention to a Master of the Arts AND start looking for "Buddies" in the crowd. Even when he deck's Hayato, Batsu's full attention is upon his opponent.

As Hayato rushes towards Batsu, he rhas a split second decision to make and he goes for it. Batsu rolls the dice. That's how fighting goes.

Batsu quickly lifts his hands, channeling his home grown chi technique's into a ball above his head, "KIAI--" Batsu shouts out as he brings the ball of chi to chest level even as Hayato gets closer, Batsu prepares to punch out his chi blast when Hayato vanishes and his arms wrap around Batsu's torso. "Wait...what?"

Batsu gets little time to have his questions answered as he's SUPLEXED into the ground. Oh right. Not just suplexed. GERMAN SUPLEXED. Like that guy with the purple hair...Krauter? It was picked something. RIGHT! Krau/S/er.

Still, man, ow.

As that failed maneuver catches Batsu in a bad position and gives him an uphill battle (to put it lightly), it is then that 'Roy' -- the Roy in the arena -- decides to intervene. He dashes slightly to the side, to one of the entryways, where he has stored something along the side, borrowed from one of the facilities rooms. It is -- you guessed it -- a folding chair, made of firm, machined steel. While slightly thin, it is flawless. Pristine. Perfect.

For the next twenty seconds.

'Roy' comes out of the entryway, hefting that chair over his head, leaping the barrier in one long leap and up onto the slate the next. "Taiyo versus /Taiyo/ in a main event?!" he yells, trying to sound as indignant as possible. "Come on! Pacific has been main event quality for /months/!" Perhaps this is just a case of a disgruntled fighter -- but whatever the reason, Roy is coming out with a folding chair.

His body flips upward, as he yells, "High Angle --" as loud as he can, bringing the piece of steel equipment up atop his fist. As he slams the piece of furniture down toward Batsu's grounded head, he finishes, proud and cocky as ever, "-- Folding Chair!"

"Boooooomaaaaaaannnn," Roy says, in the exaggerated manner he uses to greet the giant when he seems particularly gigantic. His Japanese is okay even if he has a horrible Iowa accent. "I've got his. Whatever he wants, a soft pretzel and a Coke." He flashes out his plastic, giving Boman a quirky look for his Mammon crack.

"I have Mammon on /speed dial/?" he asks, with a smirk. "Man, c'mon. Speed dial, of all things."

Roy pulls his Blackberry out of his pocket. "All the /cool kids/ have Mammon on their buddy list," he says, popping open the screen to flash it at Boman before closing it up and putting it back in his pocket.

Roy is about to continue to expound on the benefits of his instant messenger link when he hears something impossible on his AM radio earbud. He cups his hand to it and listens more closely to what the announcer just said, turning to look toward the arena doors.

COMBATSYS: Batsu endures Kurow's Random Weapon!

Hayato easily pops back up to a standing position after driving Batsu into the ground, quite unconcerned with his close call. Wait, wait, what's this!? Hayato stares in surprise as Roy comes charging up out of nowhere, swinging a chair down at Batsu's head. "Hey! What do you think you're doing!?" Well, the announcer is explaining that right now, actually, but is Hayato listening? No, of course not. He points his shinai at 'Roy', glaring sternly at the youth. "Bromwell! If you want a fight there's a proper way to go about it!" For a moment it looks like Hayato's anger actually takes physical form as he bursts into flames... But it's actually just waves of fiery orange chi rising from the teacher's body as he harnesses his Burning Spirit. Poor sportsmanship? Inexcusable!

COMBATSYS: Hayato gathers his will.

"I remember when blackberries only came in pies." Boman may be Roy's age, as shown by knowing how to do the respect knuckles that all man-friends must do apon greeting eachother, but he has the soul of a cantankerous old man at times. Boman's accdent is southern Texan, which used to be Mexican before a war and some good old fashioned cultural assimilation changed that around, which means he may occasionally get accused of being from Kansai.

"Could I have a hot dog with tomatoes, please?" Boman asks politely, clasping Roy on the shoulder entierly to make him uncomfortable. Ha ha, he's uptight. "Ten points for getting the reference, my friend. I shall endevor to be more technologically adept in my witticisms in the future, as turnabout is fair play."

He notices Roy's distraction, but generally remains quiet. If something needs doing, Boman knows that it will make itself clear in time. The Good Lord has seen it fit that he not have a quiet life, after all, in spite of his preferences.

There's absolutely no way that Hinata's not going to be out in the crowd for this epic fight between two Taiyo giants! Well... I guess they aren't really giants. Natsu's bigger than both of them. Of course this isn't actually about height, this is about the fact that both fighters hail from Taiyo and are awesome fighters. That sort of giant.
Hinata herself is dressed in her usual Taiyo uniform, pushing up through the crowds to get ever closer toward the arena, cheering at the top of her lungs and probably deafening some of the other people in the crowd. But then suddenly Roy busts onto the scene, knocking Batsu with a folding chair and Hinata goes silent, complete shock on her face before she starts charging down through the stands, "Booooooo! Kick him out of the match! Knock him out and knock him down! The referee is blind!"
To aid in her attempt to get down toward the arena, Hinata is actually throwing a few light elbows here and there, setting off the crowd in the area like it were a soccer match between England and any of the many countries that hate England and somebody having just made a bad call.

Roy normally likes exchanging gentle verbal jabs with Boman, but business has interfered once again. "Sonofa--!" Roy calls out. "Concession guy! Hold my stuff! I'll be back to pay for it in a second!"

Roy takes off like a bullet toward the arena doors. "BOMAN! There's some evil robot from the future pretending to be me in there! We gotta stop him!"

Now, reflect for a moment as to why when Roy Bromwell blames an evil robot from the future that this is not entirely implausible. After all, just a few months ago, Roy had to attack an airplane in Thailand on an ATV wearing an American flag cape while blaring 'America F*** Yeah!' from a boombox duct taped to the back. He needed to do this so he could bust into the plane by driving into the cockpit by means of a Touchdown Wave assisted jump, powering into it and attempting to do battle with two of the most powerful living beings in the world.

And why did he do that? Because they'd taken Roy's running buddy Rock prisoner, likely to do twisted experiments on him to create an army of Rock ripoffs. R, R9999, Risilid... That's not something that any planet needs. So when Roy thinks that anyone impersonating him is an evil robot from the future, for heaven's sake, one day he might be right!

Roy blasts through the arena doors like a thunderclap, not slowing down as he nearly takes them off their hinges. He runs for a few more steps before leaping up into the air, sailing past the lights to leave a majestic shadow on the ground. It's like the Batman except with more America. If this were truly a just world, his shadow would be red, white and blue.

Roy lands hard on the other side of the ring from 'Roy', making a three point landing. He straightens up and narrows his eyes at 'Roy', snapping into his fighting stance.

"I will destroy all evil robot impersonators!" Bromwell declares. "SHOW ME YOUR MOVES!"

COMBATSYS: Roy has joined the fight here.

"But I just ordered a hot dog!" Boman laments in the tradition of sidekicks everywhere. Being a kind young man, Boman pays Johnny Cho for the delicious psuedosausage, and procedes to jog after Roy "Action!" Bromwell.

Rushing after Roy, Boman leaps up into the air...and slams into the turnstiles of the ring, not having managed to get enough air to get his massive bulk into the ring. Groaning, the big man's enormous hand wraps around one of the turnstiles, and he just hefts himself over, slow-like, placidly walking over to his exciteable pal.

"Robots are as much the Children of God as every other living thing." Delgado says alloud, crossing his arms and poseing dramaticly behind Bromwell, "Repent for your sins, enemy of justice, and I promise that you will be forgiven! The only way to happyness is a life filled with justice-your path of robotic impersonation will only lead you down a path of pain, sorrow, and made for television film sequels shown on the Sci-Fi channel when no one is watching."

A burning spirit rages in Batsu's fiery heart as he gets on his knees to stand once more, he cannot lose and have the EVIL STARE OF RAIZO PIERCE DAGGERY CLAWS INTO HIS HEART! NO that must never come to be, never!

"HOMEWORK SUUUUUCKS!" Batsu cries out involuntarily but then, from his peripheral vision he see's...Roy? Charging him with a Metal Chair!? "Roy what the hell?" Then the chair is swung. Batsu's face is set in fierce determination as he THRUSTS HIS CHEST OUT at the chair. The chair strikes true but only one thing is broken. And it is NOT Batsu's chest! The chair bends around the fiery hearted japanese students pecks.

A look of surprise consumes Batsu however, how can this be? Roy is a man of JUSTICE Not evil-ninja-suck!? Batsu looks to his left as he hears the same voice...twice...

How can this BE?

Understanding passes to Batsu as Roy prepares to fight Roy. He shall handle the chair wielding imposter, Batsu refocuses upon his opponent.

"I don't get it, BUT LET'S FIGHT FAIR AND SQUARE, YAAAAAAAAH!" Batsu cries out as he rushes toward Hayato, his fist bursting with fiery chi as bends low followed by a strong upwards fist. An Uppercut that is FULL OF GUTS!

COMBATSYS: Hayato blocks Batsu's Guts Upper.

"Sometimes to get something done, you have to take unilateral action," Loy says, looking to the Burning Phys Ed Teacher and giving him a confident smirk. Kurow's ability to be an American has certainly improved since his brief disguise as Stephen Reed (no relation to Kevin Reed), that's for sure. When the real Roy arrives, though, he knows he is going to be truly tested. He's going to have to be spot-on.

"Just because I actually know how to take action, I've got to be a robot impostor, huh," Loy says to Roy, rolling his eyes and looking from the football player to Boman and back again. "Come on. I heard you guys were coming and had to show up before you fakes did something to screw everything up." A pause, as he adds, "Excellent watch, gutter trash. I can tell it's fake."

To prove his point, 'Loy' takes a quick set of steps in and swings a hard, whirling back-strike with his wrist, not unlike one of the superstars of American fighting -- but this one is aimed specifically to introduce that /watch/ to Roy's face. It is quite the watch -- and no doubt to Roy's surprise, it's a perfect duplicate.

Two Roys? Madness! But it seems at least one of them is a good one. The evil one really ought to grow a goatee so that this sort of thing won't be so confusing! But Batsu seems to have done a good job of handling the chair attack, and Hayato's not going to be so rude as to turn his attention away if Batsu's going to keep up his assault. When Batsu's fist comes streaking up toward Hayato the gym teacher brings his own arm swinging down, blocking the punch with a firmly placed forearm. "That all you've got, Batsu!?"
Sure, Hayato's shouting at Batsu, but he means well. It's meant to be inspiring! Hayato reaches out with both hands, attempting to grab Batsu by the shirt, yank him up off the ground and shake him. Should that succeed he suddenly releases the student, swinging forward with a strong punch straight to the center of the face as he drops back to the floor.

Now there's TWO Roys? This certainly isn't the correct way for the world to be working!
Of course, the world is often not working the way it is supposed to be working around Southtown. She could almost swear she'd seen some stars shining in the second Roy's shadow, and since he isn't being a complete cheating jerk, he's probably the real Roy. Unless Roy has gone back to being a complete jerk again.
The small girl continues to muscle her way through the crowd, ignoring the ushers as they try to keep the tiny riot she has already begun to cause from spreading out to the rest of the arena and she uses this distraction to hop out over the guard rail between the seating sections and the area around the ring before bellowing out at the top of her surprisingly powerful lungs, "Show them what Taiyo Pride is really about! Crush them with your Fighting Spirit!"

Roy stands there, defiant. He stares at 'Loy', eyes burning with Justice. Gutter trash? A fake watch!? Oh, oh no you don't.

Roy stands there and takes the watch to the face. It shatters against his cheek, tilting his head to one side. Blood spatters out from the small wounds left behind from the broken glass. A raw red splotch is left behind from the point of impact. It hurts, but the pain raises the power of Justice! in his heart. A little more and it will have TWO exclamation points.

"Your watch was slow," Roy says, straightening his head back up. Does this get into Loy's head enough to give him that split-second of confusion he needs? Yes? No? Either way, Roy cocks back and fires a haymaker at Loy's jaw, intending to introduce his dental work to what 'shockproof' really means.

"Homework is very important! You should take your education seriously." Boman is an enormous goody goody, and even waggles his finger at Batsu. "You cannot get through life through sheer talent alone, you know."

He then blinks. "Wait, we're fighting an evil robot duplicate. Why are you two continuing your match? Should we not unite under the auspices of justice, defeat the sinister imposter, and return to our respective homes with a sense of friendship and respect, forged through a shared ordeal?"

Nerd.

"No! Homework sucks!" comes Batsu's immediate reply just before Hayato's hand reaches over and yanks him up off the ground. Oh not again! Batsu is flung around like a rag doll by the Teacher, slammed around and finally punched to the earth. Batsu groans as all of these sudden high powered beatings start to register upon the Taiyo Students body.

"Guh...ow...man..." One. Hundred. Laps. Batsu's head snaps up.

"No!" He croaks. "I GOT MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM!"

Batsu charges at Hayato in what seems to be the same attack once more. Big. Mistake. Batsu entrusts his fiery burning heart into his fist crying out with all of the Spirit of Youth that saved the High Schools of Japan from the EVIL SCHEMES of the Imawano Clan. "MAXIMUM GUTS UPPER!"

He shouts as he punches skyward with all of his might.

Loy, as Roy comes in, rears a hand back. Everyone's seen this before -- Dynamite Straight, though it seems unusually... swirly tonight. However, Roy's just plan faster -- maybe it is the double-entendre about the watch. Maybe it's just not being used to Roy's moves. Whatever the case may be, the fake Roy just isn't fast enough, and gets punched square-on in the jaw, sent falling down into the busted-up folding chair.

"... Good shot, phony," Loy spits, rolling his back on the ground in a vain attempt to pry himself up off of it. That caught him too open, too fast -- he's not going to be getting up for a minute, unfortunately for him. Perhaps this is Roy's chance to dish out the pain!? (He certainly isn't going to get a lot of opportunities otherwise.)

Roy throws his fist of Justice! at Loy. He burns with the desire to send another fist after it loaded with Dynamite, but this is not the time. Not yet. He isn't properly warmed up and he hasn't even had a chance to stretch. But evil does not wait for stretching. Evil must be fought wherever it appears!

Roy shoulders through the punch, driving extra hard as he starts seeing Loy gearing up for some HORRIBLE IMPOSTER Dynamite Straight. He'll show him the real thing soon enough. But Loy does something dangerous -- he gets onto the ground, something that Bromwell avoids like the plague because of his tendency to be spiked down into it repeatedly once he's down there.

No time like the present to demonstrate to Loy the dangers of the ground. Surging forward as part of a single fluid motion, Roy runs at Loy and attempts to slam his foot down in a powerful stomp of Loy's solar plexus, leading with his heel. Damned robots!

Hayato turns briefly to look at Boman. "Evil doppelgangers are no reason to interrupt a fight, kid!" But then he has to quickly turn back to Batsu, for all the good it does him. He attempts to lean back and out of the way as Batsu's fist rockets up at him, but he's not quick enough to evade the speed and power of Batsu's own Burning Spirit. The fist slams into Hayato's jaw, lifting him up and off the ground with the blast from its impact. He sails back through the air, finally managing to flip around as he starts coming back down, landing on his feet.
Hayato shakes his head a few times until his vision stops flaring white, then grins toothily at Batsu. "That's more like it!" Hayato tosses his shinai over to his left hand and holds his right out toward Batsu, fist clenched. There's a creaking sound from the athletic tape tightly wound about his hands and forearms and then his hand seems to burst into flames. "Maybe you won't need to run laps after all!" Hayato pulls his fist back, then charges in toward Batsu. His intention is quite clear, but the speed with which he clears the ground between them means it may not matter much. "Hyaaaaaaaaah!"

The Taiyo girl turns her attention toward Boman, the big man rather easily standing out in the crowd, "Don't be foolish, Boman, the proof of their mighty spirit is in their will to go on with the fight despite all odds! Even if this stadium were to catch fire and explosions were to start going off all around them, their awesome spirit would not let them give up until one stood victorious!"

"Homework is important!" Boman insists, not wanting to cause a conflict, but...

...well, this bad guy doesn't have any goons, so there's not much else to do but cross his arms and look dramatic. He frowns a little more at the 'kid' line, but it's not like he has any leg to stand on-he is a minor, technichly. And then the little girl talks. Boman cannot help but frown...the Lord says judge not lest ye be judged, but...

Well, who can turn down a good debate? "There is nothing foolish about a healthy appreciation of Justice!" Boman insists right back, flicking his hair in a manner vaguely reminiscent of Roy's, "Furthermore, the truely mighty spirit is one that can put aside a grudge for the greater good! Petty disagreements can be lost and found as easily as..." Metaphore, metaphore, "...as a delicious hot dog!" Yeah, that worked. "If the stadium were to catch fire, someone with /true/ fighting spirit would shake his or her enemy's hand, work together to put out the fire, and then resume their match after those around them were safe! Without a strong sense of Justice!, all the fighting spirit in the world is nothing but undirected aggression!"

This may end up with Boman being beaten up by a little girl. It wouldn't be the first time.

Loy stays on the ground, despite his best efforts to get up. Why? Well, there's an obvious reason for that -- just as he starts to propel himself upward toward the man, aiming a fist straight for his chin... that heel comes down, planting him squarely in the ground right back where he started. Whoever this impostor is, he evidently doesn't know how to /use/ Roy's style very well -- it's not /quite/ the same as the typical 'guy with fireballs, rush punching, and rush kicking,' and that may be tripping Kurow's mimicry up no small amount.

"You realize you're not going to keep getting lucky," he says. "America's never lost a war." Unless you count that horrible abortion that was Vietnam, but then, no one seems to. After all -- there are many weasel words for 'war' that never once invoke that weighty word itself.

The Burning Spirit of Justice is a tiny flame born in the heart of a Youth when he or she is possessed with the Guts, the Will to Survive.

As Hayato flies at him with the burning power of the AGES, there is little Batsu can do but attempt to throw his arms up in his defense. Today, experience wins through. Hayato's BURNING FIST smashes through Batsu's defenses and he is thrown to the ground, with surely even the very last vestiges of his strength spent.

But Batsu's eyes do not close. Not yet.

"NO. LAPS." Batsu cries through lips that should close. But they don't. He wills himself to his feet nearly toppling over, once, twice, three times as he steps towards Hayato half conscious. Batsu shakes his head and lifts his hands. He cries out, his voice clearer. "No way!"

"ZENKAI!" He cries out channeling his chi into a Burning Ball of Spirit, he brings it down and clenches his fists. Never Say Die. "KIAIDAN!"

And shoots it out at Hayato. Win or lose though...Batsu is spent. He falls to the ground, his eyes never leaving the fireball that burns towards his sensei.

COMBATSYS: Batsu can no longer fight.

Roy is a damage train today. He senses that Loy is going to throw an uppercut and sweeps his arm down to knock it aside as he lands the kick, driving his heel in hard before stepping back to reload. He's getting more and more fired up as this continues, finding Loy's impersonation incredibly offensive.

Roy stays on non-stop offense, throwing a series of kicks at Loy's side. This isn't about honor right now. Loy lost the right to that when he tried to hurt his friend during a fair fight. Batsu might have lost this match because of Loy's villainy, and that makes Roy's blood boil.

"Where's the Dynamite?" Roy calls out. "Where's the Dynamite?! Where is it, huh? WHERE'S IT AT!?"

Hayato would expect nothing less than for Batsu to climb back to his feet in such a manner. The fireball he launches? Also expected. If he didn't go for a last gasp, well, Hayato would have to think of some appropriate punishment! He's not going to punish him just for /losing/, though, as long as he gives his best performance! Hayato quickly crosses his arms in front of himself as the fireball explodes against him, scorching the sleeves of his track jacket. When he lowers his arms, though, he still seems to be in good fighting condition. And when it's clear that Batsu won't be standing back up, he gives the student a respectful nod... and turns to the Roys.
"Okay now... I want to know what the hell is going on here!" Hayato transfers the shinai back to his right hand and begins stalking over toward the two blond men. "Somebody had better start explaining!" Waves of fiery chi begin to rise off of him as he brings his shinai into a striking position.

Across the arena, Hinata starts to circle around toward Boman, "I meant if the arean was on fire but nobody else was there in danger of getting hurt! I guess maybe it would make more sense if it was an old house that was burning, since this stadium is kind of pricey and it would be awkward to get yelled at for not doing anything... So it would be an old house that nobody really cared about anymore!" That's certainly a fairly bad way to make a point.
Of course then the arguements thrown completely off track as Batsu is quickly knocked out by Hayato, drawing her attention back into the ring as she reaches approximately the halfway point. "Excellent Spirit, Coach Hayato! Good job not letting Roy's evil tricks hold off your spirit for the fight, Batsu!"

"Well, there's Vietnam." Boman muses, "And really, no one won the Civil War. Brother against brother means everyone loses. Plus, the Spanish-American War was kind of..." Boman wiggles his hand in an 'eeeh' manner.

"I care about old houses." Boman points out, but seems to accept the spirit of the argument, at least. And then he frowns. "That's not Roy, it's an evil robotic duplicate! Roy Bromwell does not resort to evil tricks, young lady!" Pause. "...well, not often."

The kick nails Loy in the stomach, keeping him down again; he just can't buy a break. He can't make a reversal, he can't roll out of the wya -- there is nothing about being on that slab of rock that does him any good. "Uuunghh..." he groans, pulling himself back up to a standing position, slowly. He doesn't have anything left, but he has to try for it anyway.

He rears a hand back, slower this time, more focused, more conventional. Energy starts to gather around his hand, and he says, "Right here. DYNAMITE STRAIGHT!" His hand whips forward full-bore, aimed toward Roy's face as it's wreathed in that energy -- save for a very faint hint of purple, it's a picture-perfect Straight. The viewers at home certainly won't notice, though they may bang their TVs a fiew times.

Roy is kicking the tar out of Loy as Hayato walks over. He doesn't look away from Loy, but he does answer Mr. Nekketsu as respectfully as he can manage.

"This guy is pretending to be me and hit my friend with a chair!" Roy shouts. "I can't stand for this! I won't have my good name and excellent record of personal sportsmanship be trampled upon by some evil robot from the future! How would that look to my constituents!?"

Loy manages to get up during this interlude. Now he knows why Roy being on the ground is bad! The False Dynamite comes Roy's way, but Roy's mastery of his own bad technique comes into play here. He crosses his arms in front of him, using his forearm to take the burning fist. He locks his knees down, skidding back several feet as the kinetic force moves his mass back. He goes through more sneaker tread that way.

"That hurt, but you don't have the love behind it!" Roy calls out, unlocking his arms and charging back in with a furious rush to close against Loy. "This is the heart of the Dynamite! This is its soul! In the name of these United States --"

Roy cocks his fist back, the vibrant blue hue of the Dynamite Straight appearing around him. He throws his hand forward, clenched in a white-knuckled fist as he tries to drive it into Loy's chest. "DYNAMITE STRAIGHT!"

Hinata turns back toward Boman as the main match is quite clearly over now, moving along until only about an eigths of the ring's circumfrence stands between them. "Well it's not even supposed to be in good condition, it's just an old house that would probably fall down anyway. Or maybe they're just in a great big fire that isn't destroying anything else. My point is that true fighters have the spirit to keep fighting in situations that other people would run from!"
The action in the middle of the ring is starting to get a bit more attention now that Hayato-sensei is going to kick the ass of both of the Roys... except... "Hey ummm... doesn't one of those Roy's look kind of thin and gangly? And his face looks kind of creepy... but that could be from getting punched."

COMBATSYS: Roy successfully hits Kurow with Dynamite Straight.

Well, the one Roy does sound pretty convincing... But the other Roy also seems like a reasonable approximation of an angry Roy. Hayato doesn't know the Pacific students quite as well as he knows the students from his own school, so it's a bit difficult to be sure which one is real. There's one way to make sure, though. "Okay, I don't know which one of you is the real Roy Bromwell, but I'm going to put a stop to this foolishness right now!"
It'll be easier to figure out who the fake is if he's not able to fight back! Hayato rushes toward the two clashing fighters, leaping into the air as he draws close. He holds his shinai out above his head and begins to spin about as he leaps head first, turning into a human torpedo that rushes toward both versions of the football player. Orange chi surrounds him as he races in toward a potentially mighty impact.

"That may not be the best way to..." Boman trails off, assuming a combat position but waiting for a cue from Roy before joining the fight.

The real Roy's punch sends the fake flying as Hayato starts demanding explanations. The 'evil robot from the future' is certainly doing an excellent job of getting torn apart today, it looks like, after that initial amazing blow with the folding chair -- he's starting to really think he needs to make his exit, if only to avoid the pain (let alone the discovery of who he is).

"Tch," he says, kneeling at the edge of the ring as Hayato starts to come in with that fierce windmill strike. There's only one smart thing to do when a man like that is coming at you: get out of the way. He slides off the slab, and does nothing more complex than he has to:

He runs. He runs long and hard toward the exit doors of the arena. Loy doesn't have time to take any aggressive action against either of the assailants -- this all went horribly wrong, and it'd be best to just keep on running right now.

COMBATSYS: Kurow takes no action.

Roy hammers Loy with the Dynamite Straight, the chi explosions sending up impressive fireworks throughout the arena. He grins with the satisfaction of a job well done, but then -- flaming shinai! Roy knows what he needs to do, because Roy Bromwell always takes his medicine.

Roy stiffens up and grits his teeth, taking the repeated beating to the shoulders and back. He cries out in pain as he is struck again and again, staggering down to one knee as his body finally cannot withstand any more of the onslaught.

But in doing so, Roy proves himself to be the real thing. Why? Is it lack of fighting skill? Maybe. Is it stupidity? Probably. But what it is for sure is this:

"THESE COLORS DON'T RUN!" Roy bellows as Loy starts to beat feet. He keeps one knee down as Loy keeps running, raising his fists painfully up over his head. He brings them together and slams them down on the arena floor as Loy keeps running, unloading with a Super Touchdown -- three successive Touchdown Waves, each one stronger than the one before it.

Hayato lands in a crouching position, then slowly climbs back to his feet. With one of the Roys turning tail and running it seems pretty clear which one is the real one. The one that Hayato hit. Oops. Ah well. He's a sturdy young lad, he'll be able to walk it off! Hayato watches as Loy runs off, not moving to chase him. He'll be inside a crowd within moments, and someone might get hurt. Well, unless Roy manages to blast him before he gets to safety... That might change things. But for now, Hayato's not going to give chase.

COMBATSYS: Hayato takes no action.

Boman frowns, quickly running after Roy and Loy, aiming to help his friend in the name of JUSTICE!

The turnstile ropes, Boman's eternal foes, have other plans, leaving the gentle giant....delayed. "This is rather embarrasing."

It's all pretty much over at this point, so instead of watching the two Roys, whichever's the real one, go after each other, she climbs up into the ring with a big smile on her face. "You did excellent, Hayato-sensei!" She raises up one of her hands, spreading out her fingers in the classic peace symbol. "Congratulations on your victory, even if it was caused by dishonorable circumstances."

These colors are certainly running right now. But then, they're not the real thing.

Loy just keeps on running -- he starts to even break character, starting to hit speeds that the real Roy would have a hard time pulling, even on fourth and long. His feet take him out of the path of those massive waves of energy, only barely -- the chi licks at his feet as he moves, motivating him to move even faster.

He ducks behind a wall, for one moment, invisible to all eyes in the arena... and then, like that, he is gone. There is nothing left of that false Roy, if it was anything more than an illusion to begin with.

"STUPID ROBOTS!" Roy yells, as Loy makes it over the wall and seemingly vanishes. The chi washes up against the reinforced structure harmlessly, scorching it yet again but leaving the onlookers unharmed.

Roy is frustrated and achy from the battle. He eases himself back up to both feet and takes a few cleansing breaths, hands resting on his laurels.

"Sorry that got in the way of your battle, Mr. Nekketsu," Roy says. "If he pops up again I'll nail him good."

Batsu shakes his fist. In spirit.

Hayato claps a large hand on Roy's shoulder briefly. "Sorry about knocking you around like that, kid. But it looks like it worked out in the end, right?" Whether or not Hayato's actions actually had anything to /do/ with that, well, he won't dwell on that. He then walks over to Batsu, to check out his student's condition. Some of the medics are already over there, and perhaps Hayato might be able to give them a few tips. Whether or not they want them.

Roy winces as Hayato puts his hand on his shoulder. Boy, that smarts. "It did, thanks," Roy says, a little hoarsely. He tries to smile through it, but he really needs to sit down for a while after a caning like that. It's a good thing it only hit him in the /back/...

The medics arrive. Roy limps his way over to them, waving to the cheering crowd as he does so. Just another day in the life of Roy Bromwell, Justice Avenger.

Boman eventually manages to extract himself from accursed turnstile ropes.

"Well!" Boman says gregariously, clapping Roy's shoulder and grinning cheesily, "I'm just glad we all learned a valuable lesson! Never trust evil robot dopplegangers from the future."

Roy has walked away in the time that it took Boman to say that, because whitey is innately shifty.

You can't trust a white man with power. Batsu does manage to clasp Roy's other shoulder in passing, making him wince more. Aggh!!

Hinata turns toward Boman with a great big smile on her face, "That's a very important lesson, Boman, and I'm glad you brought it up." The girl turns around, staring up at the crowd, "Do you hear that people? Don't trust them, because they'll always do bad things!"
