Description: Zach's first Saturday Night Fight (not to mention non-leathal fight) is against Katelynn Molina. It doesn't go too well for the Psycho-Powered wanderer. (Winner: Katelynn)
Here in Southtown, they're in the process of setting up another office building. However, only the skeleton (or the girders if you will) has been set up, and a lot of work remains to be done. Nonetheless, it's the setting for a fight today, giving the workers some time to relax and enjoy a good match. There's no special surface, so the ground will have to suffice. All dangerous objects have been placed out of range for the most part. A hot dog vendor is selling refreshments for good prices, adding to the atmosphere.
Katelynn is already here, dressed in her traditional garb and warming up for the match. She has her traditional uniform on, sans shoes, since she apparently doesn't mind getting her feet dirty. She eagerly awaits her opponent to arrive.
Zach, when he applied for a job at Howard Productions, foolish told his interviewer that he would be willing to do just about anything, so long as it was legal, in order to get a job. This was true; the young man was tight on cash and once again unemployed.
He wasn't expecting to be added to the Saturday Night Fights roster. He spent the next couple of days trying to make an appeal on the decision, only to have HR throw his own words back at him. He has not stopped trying to get this decision reversed, concerned for the safety of this person he doesn't even know. She could get hurt, or worse!
The frieght elevator opens to a heated conversation:
"Look. I don't think you understand..."
"I understand perfectly! If you want your paycheck, you're going to go and fight this lady. That's /final/, Glen."
"Good thing she signed a waver, then," laments the younger voice. Zach stands there looking at Katelynn for a moment when the supervisor shoves him out of the elevator with a "Go get 'er, kid. Make it good!" Zach glances at the closing elevator, then at Katelynn. "Um...hi."
OK, so Katelynn realized she was on the wrong floor, and managed to get up there just in time to see her opponent arrive. She takes a moment to bow to him before saying, "I look forward to meeting you in combat." She knows this young man isn't very confident apparently, but deep within him, she senses a strong fighting spirit. She takes a deep breath and then gets into her fighting stance.

You will have to forgive Zach. This is literally the third fight he has been in. The first that has been televised at all. It's also the first one where his life is not likely on the line. He glances around, noting the camera men scrambling around, then at Kate. He bows somewhat clumsily, lacking any resemblance of the simple grace Katelynn's bow has.
"Um...please don't take this the wrong way, but I hope this doesn't get too serious." He brings his hands up in front of him somewhat cautiously. There's no form to his stance. It /reeks/ of rookie-ness. If that's even a /word/.

Truly lacking in self-confidence, but the spirit is still there. Hopefully, the young man will gain more confidence as he fights more. Win or lose, that's the way fights are. But either way, Katelynn isn't going to go easy on him. This is where your fighting prowess comes into play.
"We'll see," She replies with a half-smile, before bringing her right fist towards the young man's chest swiftly.

OOF! Zach takes the fist to the chest with a solid thump as he staggers back a couple of paces. He manages to keep from getting the wind knocked out of him, which is good. He eyes Katelynn for a moment. It's not a problem of a lack of self-confidence that keeps Zach in check. It is more along the lines of the knowledge that he is /capable/ of some serious property damage if he is not very /very/ careful. He understands, perhaps, the concept of self-improvement through combat, but he does not want to hospitalize or kill Kate. She's done nothing to him. She has been nice, in fact.
So Zach attempts a simple straight punch. Something of a brawler's punch, to be certain. Nothing special at all about it, even. Just a punch. He wants to see if he can go without unleashing any of his power, to see if he can control it even during a fight...

The punch was a bit well telegraphed, even if it was quick. So Katelynn attempts to dodge it in hopes of causing her opponent to go off balance and get an advantage. Unfortunately, she mistimes the dodge, and ends up getting hit with Zach's punch. It's swift but it doesn't hurt too much.
"Not bad, but let's see how good you really are." And with that, Katelynn does a one-eighty, propelling herself forward off of her front foot which is now her rear foot, while extending her now front foot in front of her, flying at Zach quickly.

The kick is quick, but he has fought a jet-powered battle droid recently. Dude cut him up pretty fierce, and despite the talk of wanting Zach /dead/ for no apparent reason...here he was today.
Glen dives and rolls across the boards that make up the flooring and quickly regains his footing. He looks at Katelynn for a moment, eyeing her critically.
"Are you sure about that? I wouldn't be, knowing what I know," he says softly.

Nice dodging on Zach's part. That's one of Katelynn's swifter moves that's not easily dodged. Most people usually counter it, but sometimes they end up getting hit rather hard. Nonetheless, Katelynn quickly lands and rolls to the side, bringing herself back up to face her opponent.
"OK, kiddo, I'm done holding back," She says, and then brings her fist back like she's about to throw another punch, except a blue aura of chi forms around it, and then she throws the punch. At that, a blue ball of chi flies right at Zach. Not exactly flashy, but it works... for the most part.

Zach grimmaces at the comment. She's serious. The ball of chi flies towards him, and he starts to dash to the side and simply is not fast enough. The ball tags him and smashes him into the closed elevator doors. He thumps to the ground and gasps for breath. This is his first time taking a chi attack. It hurts. A lot.
The purple haired young man pulls himself to his feet. "As I understand it, it would be an insult not to go all out at this point. That," Zach raises a hand as a purple sphere of psycho power flares up into a basketball-sized globe. His arm quivers a bit as he tries to size it down, minimize the damage he could do, "Is not my intention," Zach states at the ball lauches at her...

Looks like Zach's got a few tricks up his sleeve as well. Namely a projectile attack. Rather than try to avoid it, Katelynn braces herself for the impact. It hits harder than expected, and she finds herself knocked backward a little, but she quickly regains her composure.
She says nothing this time. Instead, she takes a couple steps forward and then crouches down, bringing her right foot towards Zach's ankles in a foot sweep.
But he'd better be careful, because just before it hits, Katelynn pivots on her extended foot and brings her other foot forward, this time going for the ankles!

Zach staggers as the first kick slams into his ankle. His balance, precarious as it is, is thrown completely off. He's falling.
"AUGH!" yells the youth as he drops. An arm sweeps towards Katelynn, with hundreds of sparks of various colors flying from his fingertips and palm on a fast intercept course for Katelynn, peppering the Shotokahner with psycho-power as he crashes to the ground.
Looks like double-trouble here. Katelynn hit Zach, but Zach returned the favor as well, causing Katelynn to go down for the count. OK, so the count of 7 at least, because that's when she gets back on her feet and steps back a little. While waiting for Zach to get back up and resume the match, Katelynn takes a moment to catch her breath.

Zach stands up, albiet kind of slow. He hops lightly on his kicked leg, as if making sure it can hold his weight. Satisfied that it can, Zach simply places his hands on his knees and gasps for air as well.
He smiles at Katelynn, "This... this is kind of fun."

"I'm glad you're having fun, because it's gonna get better from here," Katelynn responds, cracking a brief smile. Without waiting for a response, Katelynn somersaults forward in the air, bringing her left leg down and aiming her bare foot at Zach.

"Maybe," Glen comments as he sidesteps Katelynn's kick. He tries for a move that he has seen on television about a zillion times.
He grabs for the front of Katelynn's gi, and tries to toss her over his shoulder. This, for reasons already detailed, may not work for him at all...

Tsk, tsk, tsk. You should know better than attempting to throw Katelynn Molina. Especially when she's known to have several moves specifically made to counter opponents who get too close to her. As Zach grabs her gi, Katelynn steps back so she faces sideways, and then thrusts her hand forward with a chi powered palm strike, hitting Zach right in the stomach.
After that, Katelynn only shakes her head and waits the next move.
Like Zach knows any of that.
The palm stirke launches him into a girder, before dropping him onto the floor. He gets up again, slower this time. The repeated strikes are starting to take their toll on him as he glances at Katelynn again.
"Last time... I try that one," Zach says with a breathy chuckle.

"Trust me, that could've been a lot worse. I could've thrown you or something like that. Be glad that I didn't," Katelynn replies, not cracking the slightest hint of a smile this time. "But enough talk! Let's finish this!" And Katelynn rushes towards Zach, bringing her right foot up and aiming it at his stomach.

Zach whips an energy coated left palm to slow Katelynn's kick as he pivots slightly, tucking his right arm sharply at his side as he charges it with more psycho power.
"As you wish, then," is Zach's reply as he makes like a drum-doll, and fires a straight punch at Katelynn's midsection. The air around the punching arm leaves a slight purple ripple through the air as the fist charges towards its target...

Katelynn may seem like she's running out of steam, but her adrenaline is still pumping through her. As the attack comes at her, she steps out of the way by pivoting on her left foot. As Zach goes by, Katelynn reaches out to grab him from behind and possibly roll onto her back and throw Zach.

Zach's forward momentum proves to be too much for Kate to overcome as Zach slides past her hands. Zach's response is simple, really.

Katelynn spins around just in the nick of time to raise her guard, allowing her block to absorb most of the damage from Zach's punch. He eyes Katelynn for a moment before glancing at a bucket of bolts lying on the ground. Without a word, he gets improvisational on her, slinging the bolts at the Karateka in a wide spread...

Oof! That smarts! Katelynn takes the bucket to the head and staggers backward a bit dazed. When she comes to she finds her forehead is bleeding a little. This makes her very angry.
"So you want to fight dirty, huh? Well, two can play at that game!" With that, she reaches off and grabs a nearby brick, chucking it at Zach quickly.

Zach falls on his back gasping as he bleeds a little from his forehead. He tucks and rolls to his feet. So much for the smokescreen, then. He pulls himself to his feet once more as he gasps for air.
"I'm not the experienced fighter here. I don't know what you mean by that." Which is true. Zach has, thus far, only really fought for his life. In which case 'dirty' does not even enter the equation.

"The only way to get experience is by fighting, whether it's for your life or for entertainment. Whatever reason, you can't better yourself without fighting," Katelynn says in a stern voice. And with that, she attempts to do her missile kick again, except this time she pauses so that her chi builds up within her, and then she flies, even faster, at Zach.

Zach has no response outside of widened eyes as the kick screams in for his midsection. He takes the blow full-on in the midsection, exhaling sharply. His fists flare with pain and energy. He winces as he tries to fight it, tries to keep it in...
...only to fail miserably as his hands sweep up at Katelynn before releasing a torrent of psycho power as large as he is at the young lady.

Zach then promptly falls over. He doesn't seem to move any after that.
A last ditch effort by Zach, well used, but misses. Katelynn rolls to the side and an official who's been watching off to the side declares her the winner. With that, she rushes over to check on Zach and make sure he's OK. At that, medical teams surround the young man and assure Katelynn he'll be fine.
Although Katelynn can't see him, she still bows to him and says, "You fought well. Let this be a lesson in improving your fighting skills." And with that, she's off.
