World Warrior 2007 - [FINAL] Mr. Big vs Kyo

Description: Mr. Big and Kyo Kusanagi FINALLY square off in a remote sector of the the war-torn nation of Thailand to determine who will be called The World Warrior! Guest starring Iori Yagami, Rose, and... a Hind-D?!

The finals of one of the world's biggest fighting competitions, the World Warrior Tournament, has finally arrived. Fittingly, the setting for this battle will be right in the center of what is currently the biggest war-zone on the planet, Thailand. No one, save the fighters themselves, will be watching this bout in person; the raging conflict in the country, combined with the potential for mass destruction that would certainly put any spectators at extreme risk, has prevented any possibility of any sort of audience. Then there's the venue itself, a massive, de-commissioned hangar full of cobwebbed military hardware that hasn't been used in years, so outdated that the destruction of the entire facility would not be considered a loss to any of the forces currently fighting in the country. Located in the middle of a thick, impassable jungle, the only way to get there is by helicopter, and even then, who would bother?

When Mr. Big (real name unknown) and Kyo Kusanagi arrive, they enter from opposite ends of the cavernous building, walking into a completely black void. After a few tense minutes of standing there in the darkness, spotlights begin to activate, shining lances of penetrating light first down upon many of the deactivated pieces of equipment; helicopters, tanks, jeeps, then finally down upon the two contestants.

The only other illumination comes from tiny red LEDs on-lights from the dozens of cameras installed all over the ceiling of the hangar; even though there might not be a paying audience for this fight, that's not going to prevent the tournament organizers from cashing in on the millions of dollars that are going to be created from the pay-per-view. Occasionally one can hear the tiny servos directing each camera humming as they angle to get a better view of the fighters.

Wonderful. Another private, secluded, fight venue; a dreary tomb utterly devoid of flashbulbs, fireworks, screaming fans, and the biggest crime of all, an absolute and undeniable lack of hot fight groupies. Who the hell books these tournament fights anyway? Howard Enterprises would never dream of tossing away the thousands and thousands of dollars that ringside tickets to this event would bring in. Nope, not a single hotel heiress or Middle Eastern sheik in sight. Yet, as much as Mr. Big hates the privacy that such a location brings, it might work in his favor once again. Without the crowd to distract him in the semi final bout, the Sultan of Southtown managed to pull out a close upset victory against the former World Warrior, the stoic Ansatsuken fighter known as Ryu. Lightning could very well strike twice.
Spinning the batons at his side in anxious anticipation as his spotlight clicks on, the lubricious Mr. Big regards Kyo coolly from behind his ever-present sunglasses for a few moments before slowly pointing the baton in his right hand at Kusanagi. "Hey kid. Enjoy the spotlight while you can. Pretty soon I'm going to be the only one standing in it." That said, the Chrome-Dome Don slides his left foot foreword and sinks his hips into his normal fighting stance. Fairly innocuous as far as Diamond Don's usual entrances usually go, but then again, the importance and history behind this fight are enough to quiet even Mr. Big.

COMBATSYS: Mr.Big has started a fight here.

Kyo Kusanagi has been here before. The finals of a major, international fighting event. Even a fighter of his reputation gets a little nervous before such trials, and during the helicopter ride here he did get a few butterflies in his stomach... but only because he was looking forward to this so much. The lack of a crowd is a non-factor for Kusanagi, he usually blocks out the thunderous roar of his fans during a bout to focus completely on his opponent anyways, and he still plans to put on a good show for the millions of people watching this on television screens across the world.

"When I heard Ryu wasn't going to be able to fight me, I decided to see what was going on over here in Thailand, because this tournament didn't interest me anymore," Kyo begins, his voice echoing repeatedly in the enormous hangar. While he speaks he reaches into his back pant pocket and pulls out his trademark black gloves and pulls them onto his hands. "Since they decided to have the final match here, though, I couldn't really refuse. That's just your bad luck!" His gloves now tightened onto his hands, Kyo assumes his ready position.

"I guess you must be some sort of badass if you beat Ryu, huh? Come on, let's see what you got!!"

COMBATSYS: Kyo has joined the fight here.

"Heh," Mr. Big smirks as Kyo speaks, his personality starting to come to life as the trash talk begins in earnest. "Aww, you shouldn't give up hope that easily kid. I know you ain't got much of a chance of beating Mr. Big, but you should be honored that you got this far. I'm glad you were in the neighborhood though, at least the fans at home get a little entertainment before I officialy become the champ." Tugging at the collar of his navy blue coat, Mr. Big gives one of the remote cameras a wink.
"Nah. I don't /think/ I'm a badass..." Mr. Big says as he turns his attention back at Kyo. "...it ain't a matter of opinion, kid. It's a fact!" he assures the keeper of the Kusanagi Flame. Suddenly bolting into action, Mr. Big rushes in towards Kyo, the baton in his right hand cocking back at the last second in preparation to fly forward and bitchslap Kyo on the jaw. Coming to a sudden stop as the first strike flies, Mr. Big breaks the rhythm of his advance by quickly stepping through with his rear left foot and lunging foreword, the butt of his left hand baton flying towards Kyo's nose to follow the attempted strike by the right.

COMBATSYS: Kyo blocks Mr.Big's Medium Strike.

Kusanagi just smirks back at his opponent, standing his ground while the insults, and then the body, of Mr. Big fly at him. The scion of the flames' defense for this assault is simple: He merely raises a forearm to block the first of the baton blows, the rod will probably leave a welt there, but better that than a dislocated jaw. The second strike meets Kyo's other arm, and for a split-second the two fighters are frozen there in an awkward position; Big's batons pressed up against Kyo's lower arms by the side and in front of the younger fighter's face.

"Heh heh," Kyo cracks, his hands suddenly turning around Big's arms to grab at the Southtown Syndicate goon's wrists. With those captured, he attempts to turn his back towards Mr. Big as use it as leverage to toss the larger fighter over his back and to the unyielding concrete of the hangar's floor.

Cammy heads to sub-stage 6.

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits Mr.Big with Issetsu Seoi Nage.

Sneering as his batons are deftly turned aside by Kyo's arms, Mr. Big can do little else but curse quietly under his breath as his wrists are gripped by Kyo's slender fingers. Left grunting in anticipation of a quick and violent meeting with the cement floor as he is sent up and over the young man's back and flying straight down towards the ground, the Platinum Player doesn't seem to be starting off this fight very well. All is not lost though, it's the end of the fight that's important. "Hnnnght!" Mr. Big gasps as the concrete webs with cracks under the force of the throw. Not finding the prospect of laying supine at Kyo's feet very appealing, Mr. Big quickly rolls backward over his shoulder to a crouch before standing and hopping back to a more manageable distance. Raising his right baton up into a guard position near his face Mr. Big seems content to simply watch Kyo for the moment, his attempts at trash talk derailed for the moment.

COMBATSYS: Mr.Big focuses on his next action.

Big isn't able to watch Kyo for much longer than a moment, for the younger fighter is almost immediately in his face, advancing forwards with a barrage of light jab and hook punches that are designed to keep Big off-balance and back him up. Despite their speed, the majority of the initial attacks seem to arc off-course, easily dodged by an experienced fighter such as Mr. Big. However, after the first few punches, it's obvious that Kyo is only trying to set the "Chrome Dome Don" up for a clear shot to the face, a knuckle-blow that aims to hit Big straight on the nose, similar to what he tried to do earlier to Kyo.

COMBATSYS: Mr.Big endures Kyo's Jab Punch.

Bobbing and weaving as Kyo advances towards him and pushes him back with a myriad of punches, the gangster watches intently from behind his dark glasses, knowing full well that the real strike has yet to come. As the jab to his nose is loosed by Kusanagi, Mr. Big instantly recognizes it for what it is, and instead of deflecting the blow aside as Kyo did to his initial strike, the Chrome-Dome Don welcomes it in full on.
Blood splatters from his nostrils as Kyo's knuckle slams into Big's nose, his sunglasses thankfully covering his eyes as the begin to water involuntarily from the strike. It's not a very hard strike, but it doesn't need to be. Though even as the droplets of blood splatter against his light brown vest, Mr. Big arms are already well on their way towards encircling Kyo's body, as was the Southtown Syndicate gangster's intent all along. Unless Kyo is able to stop Big short with an attack of his own or wiggle free, the Diamond Don with lift the smaller man off the ground and give him a rib crunching bear hug before pitching foreword and spiking Kyo's back into the ground with his shoulder. Raiden taught him that one.

The punch hits it's mark with satisfying results, and Kyo starts to jog backwards cockily, fully intending to just dance around Big and take pot-shots. He only manages to take a single step back before he's captured and his feet are uprooted off the ground. Big applies the pressure, squeezing Kyo's arms against his body, making escape from the bearhug nearly impossible by any conventional methods. The scion of the flames winces for a moment as he's squeezed, but then cracks that infuriating grin at Big. From this close, Big can tell by the smile (not to mention the increasing warmth of Kyo's body) that what the younger fighter has planned is not going to be pleasant.

Ever try to give a big hug to a bunch of lava?

Kyo's body suddenly erupts into crimson flame, the sudden rush of power prying open Big's arms, not that he'd want to keep ahold of Kyo when he's ablaze in any case. Now free from the crushing grasp, Kyo adds insult to injury, swatting Big away with a flame-wreathed punch to the chest, backing the Syndicate boss up towards a junked helicopter.

"It's been pattycake up until now..." Kyo intones, reducing the flames surrounding him down to a small flame that trickles over one of his gloved hands. "A weapon fighter like you should appreciate my 'kobojutsu' right? How does it feel?"

His arms and chest smoldering with fire as he is sent flying backwards into the helicopter by the punch, Mr. Big coughs lightly and slaps at his coat to try and put the remnants of the flame out as he leans against the nose of the military chopper. "Pattycake, huh?" Mr. Big asks between coughs. "Well why'd you wait so long? Let's get to the good shit." His bloody mouth breaking into a toothy grin, Mr. Big turns at the waist and slams one of his batons against the cockpit glass, shattering the impact-proof windshield and sending shards skittering in all directions across the hanger floor.
"C'mon Kusanagi, stop holding back!" Mr. Big bellows, blue light suddenly shining from behind his sunglasses as he turns back towards his opponent. Sparks and tendrils of electricity begin to spiderweb over Big's chest and arms as he speaks, working their way down to the batons held down by his waist where they leap from weapon to weapon dangerously, yet the gangster seems oblivious to the chaotic energy enveloping him.

COMBATSYS: Mr.Big gathers his will.

The shattered glass spreads across the concrete around the two fighters, the loud crash from the impact of Big's baton against the windshield echoing, seemingly endlessly, in the depths of the hangar. The combination of electrical and fiery energies illuminate the illy-lit facility far better than the spotlights do, and make the shards of glass scattered across the floor reflect and glow eerily. Kyo just keeps smirking as Big taunts him to reveal all his power, which to the scion of the flames seems to be asking more gunmen to be in the firing squad at your execution!

"I really don't like instant death, so I just played around with you!"

Right after making that "explanation" Kusanagi's right arm whirls into motion, making a few slicing motions through the air and creating better trails of flame than even the most talented fire-dancer could hope to achieve. These have more than just aesthetic purposes, however: From those trails of fire emerge two ground-seeking bolts of flame that rocket across the ground towards the helicopter and Mr. Big, blowing glass out of the way in their wake.

COMBATSYS: Mr.Big fails to interrupt Yami Barai from Kyo with Double Ground Blaster.

The moment the bolts of fire leave Kyo's hand, Mr. Big thrusts himself away from the wrecked helicopter and charges towards the oncoming blasts. "DOUBLE GROU-" Mr. Big begins to bellow as the fire nears, but his words quickly die in his throat as the flame envelops his legs faster than he had anticipated. Gritting his teeth, the Sultan of Southtown attempts to force the pain out of his mind, but it is just too much. Gasping with exertion, Mr. Big staggers to one knee for a moment and drops his batons to his side before managing to push himself back up to his feet. "How..." Mr. Big asks himself quietly in disbelief as he regards the practically undamaged opponent standing before him. How is this happening?

Kyo frowns as the ground-pounding fireballs hit their mark and temporarily cause Mr. Big to drop into a prone position. Even though the young heir to the Kusanagi legacy has the upper hand, he seems completely unsatisfied with the way this fight has been going thus far; he doesn't even seize the opportunity to attack his staggered opponent, deciding instead to stand there look at the Southtown Syndicate member disdainfully. "You go ahead and beat the guy I was trying to fight and this is all you've got to show for it?!" He says, incredulously. "Ryu must have been really slacking off, geez!"

Kyo clenches the hand he just used to blast Big with flame into a fist, the flames squirt out between his fingers in small bursts, then extinguish themselves. Thusfar, his opponent hasn't been challenging enough to make Kusanagi really burn.

COMBATSYS: Kyo takes no action.

Mr.Big           1/-------/=======|======-\-------\0              Kyo

Straightening up as Kyo extinguishes his flame, Mr. Big's lips curl into a disdainful frown. "Yeah, I'm hurt," he says, wiping at the trail of blood leaking from his mouth with his thumb. "Yeah, I probably don't got much left," he surmises, bringing both of his batons together, end to end. "Hell kid, you got me dead to rights..." Mr. Big admits as the batons snap together into one longer staff with a mechanical click. "But letting down your guard when fighting Mr. Big?!" he shouts rhetorically as his strong legs push away from the ground, sending the gangster sailing through the air towards Kyo. "BITCH, THAT'S A MISTAKE!" Winding his staff back behind his head as if he were trying to split a log with an axe, the Diamond Don lets the staff fly forward as his leap carries him down towards the younger fighter's head, the sheer force of the blow more than enough to shatter the skull of a normal human like so many pumpkins.

COMBATSYS: Kyo counters Deep Strike from Mr.Big with Nue Tsumi.

Mr.Big           1/----===/=======|=======\-------\1              Kyo

Kyo is still pissed. He just stands there, staring at his opponent as the older fighter collects himself and forms a staff out of his two batons. "Tch..." is the only response Kusanagi has to this new tactic. Even as Big leaps to attack him, there's no movement on the boy's part, he continues to stand still, ostensibly with his guard down. Big closes in, taking a massive swing downwards with his staff, needing a home run right here and hoping he's going to get it on account of Kyo's mistake.

*WHOOM!* The blow strikes Kyo, cracking the smooth concrete under the scion of the flame's feet and actually shaking the ground enough that the glass shards that pepper the ground jump up off the ground, shooting away from the invisible force created by Mr. Big's strike.

"A... mistake?"

Unfortunately, the staff landed squarely in one of Kyo's outstretched hands, and now he holds onto it, tightly. "You've got it mixed up," Kyo mutters, "You made a mistake when you ruined my chance to pay back Ryu for all those times he's beat the crap out of me!" He yanks Big's staff out to the side, leaving the Platinum Pimp totally open, "You made another mistake when you showed up here and couldn't even putt up a good fight!!" Kyo's hand now reaches for Big's collar, grabbing him by it yanking him close, so that he gets an earful of the next words to come out of Kyo's mouth, "And thinking you could talk trash to me without backing it up? BIGGEST MISTAKE OF ALL!"

BIGGEST MISTAKE OF ALL."

The hand at Big's collar shoves him backwards, while simutaneously, Kyo's free hand balls into a fist and socks Big right in the chin with a small explosion of crimson flame.

Sent sliding across the glass-covered floor by Kyo's flaming punch, Mr. Big's battered body skids to a stop a good distance away from the Scion of the Flame. Groaning softly as he lifts himself up into a sitting position, the Southtown Lieutenant holds a hand to his head groggily and pushes himself to his feet. Shaking the cobwebs loose from as he gathers his bearings, the lubricious Mr. Big's knuckles turn white as he grips both ends of his staff and snaps them apart, back into two batons. Glaring hatefully at Kyo, Mr. Big takes a step forward, lifting his weapons which start to lace with electricity and...

...and what? Mr. Big calls upon his willpower and undying courage and launches one of his most devastating attacks at Kusanagi? He gathers his heroic resolve and determination and mounts a staggering comeback? He summons the ancient power at his disposal? He trusts in his destiny to carry him though? He grits his teeth and battles on, because he knows that the forces of good always win through in the end?
No. Mr. Big isn't courageous. Mr. Big isn't a hero. He isn't the heir to an ancient power, or a champion of destiny, and he certainly isn't fighting for the good of mankind.
Mr. Big is a criminal. He is a lowlife thug who has clawed his way to the top via lies, murder, and god-given talent. He cares for no one save himself.

World Warrior. What good is a title? Does it give you money? Fame? Power? Women? Mr. Big has more of those rewards than most men could ever dream of.
It must be pride, then. Fortunately for Mr. Big, pride has very little street value.

Turning away from Kyo and walking casually towards the hanger door, the last of Mr. Big that the home audience sees are his discarded batons laying on the burnt, glass covered ground.

COMBATSYS: Mr.Big has left the fight here.

Kyo takes a step forwards towards Big as his opponent seems to be ready to mount one last attack, but instead ends up discarding his weapons and walking away. "Hmpf," Kyo says, while lowering his hands and shoving them in his pockets. He guesses that makes him the winner, but why doesn't he feel like one? Shaking his head, he turns and starts to walk in the opposite direction of Big, the same way he came in, through the darkened hangar.

COMBATSYS: Kyo drops his guard to recover.

Many people think, then, that that's it. That the show is over. That there's nothing left to see, fight-wise. From this point on would be the celebration? All the way out here in Thailand? Well, that much could be true as well.
Technically there should be fireworks and cheers and all that good stuff, instead there's for a moment a long.. Awkward pause. Silence, save for the faint sound of heavy blades ripping in the air, and somewhere far off, bombs exploding. A very unusual ending indeed.

Though then the pause is broken, the sound of whirling blades continue to draw closer, and what can be seen in the sky is a white and green helicopter- An attack helicopter, that completely lacks any insignia of it being a friendly or an enemy weapon.

And then there's a voice, an all too familiar voice that of a certain booms within the hangar, coming from the speakers?

"Kyo Kusanagi.. Congratulations on making it this far, exceeding my expectations once more. Your prize? If you're wise, you'll realize that there is greatness that exceeds your own, and I'm willing to give it to you."

There's the whistle of a missle ripping toward the facility, which then slams into the ceiling and sends massive chunks of debris crashing to the ground; and making its entrance is the battle chopper, slowly lowering itself so it hovers only a few feet above the ground.

"Join me, and recieve the greatest prize of them all. Or you may recieve the second prize. DEATH. What is your decision?"

COMBATSYS: MilMi-24 has joined the fight here.

Kyo              1/------=/=======|-------\-------\0         MilMi-24

Kyo pauses in mid-step when he hears the sound of helicopter blades. The chopper here to pick him up is a bit early, or so it sounds. Then the voice comes over the hangar's intercom, causing Kyo to look up lazily, "Neh?"

Then, of course, the roof is gone, in a massive explosion. Also, a Hind D lowers itself to commence a staredown with Kusanagi. THAT'S never happened before. Not even in any of the many tournaments with crazy mysterious benefactors he's entered.

Kyo braces his feet apart, one arm placed up above his eyes to shield himself from the wind the helicopter is creating. His answer coincides with a big, shit-eating grin sure to infuriate whoever's piloting the helicopter, "Screw you."

"... Oh yeah. He's going to be pissed.." the pilot says to his partner, with a slow shake of his head.
"Poor bastard," the other murmurs, "I guess that means we're gonna have to do it."
"Roger that."

Meanwhile in the outside, there's silence at first coming from the speakers. Of course, this is a clear sign that Kyo did -not- answer correctly, if there were some sort of projection, Vega's face would probably be red with fury. Alas, after a moment the voice continues, "Just as I had suspected, you are a fool. Now you shall face your punishment for defying Lord Vega!" ...
"Kill him."

And the aircraft doesn't waste any time. The command isn't even halfway given and the guns upon the vehicle draw forward, and then releases a massive volley of bullets in Kyo's directions. The blaze drags along the floor closer to the Kusanagi air, ripping up the floor and sending debris everywhere! But once is presumably reaches Kyo, the firing is steady, the heavy echos of fireing bouncing off of the walls, for what seems to be about a good nine seconds of fire. And then the hail cuts short as surely the hangar, or what's left of it, is completely filled with dust.

COMBATSYS: Kyo blocks MilMi-24's Machine Gun.

Sure, Kyo sounded cool saying that to a freaking helicopter staring him down, but he hadn't really planned on what he was going to do afterwards. To his credit, he does what any sensible person would when face with the giant chain-gun of an attack helicopter: Run like hell.

Bullets chase after Kyo, hot on his heels as he dives for a closest available cover, that being the chopper that Big took a moment to bash in just a few minutes ago. The sound of the Hind firing against the bare metal of the scrapped chopper is deafening, but gives Kyo a moment to reflect upon his current situation: "I should have never let that crazy priestess drag me here!!"

Pressing his head up against the back of his cover, he takes a few breathes to steel himself until he hears the Hind getting close once more, then scrambles over his cover and leaps for the cockpit of the chopper! He tries to hang on, somehow, to the glass canopy with one hand while simultaneously trying to bash into with his other. Maybe he can get inside and disable to pilots. Maybe.

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits MilMi-24 with Medium Punch.

"Damn, no good,"
"Hey, what's that kid doing? He isn't going t-"
"Crazy bastard!"
Somehow it wasn't suprising to the pilots that shooting Kyo to oblivion wasn't exactly going to work; however they're also able to keep up with his movements someway somehow and when Kyo comes tearing forward like a psycho the aircraft only has one way to go, and that's up.
This doesn't work completely as planned however, Kyo does manage to leap up onto the chopper, and while he doesn't quite get the grip he wants to stay hanging onto it, he does give it a good hard smash right into the front of the canopy, completely shattering it and getting a moment to hear a loud obscenity before dropping once more.
"He's in target! He's in target, shoot him you son of a bitch SHOOT HIM!!!" shrieks the pilot in the back.
And the Hind does just that. The missles under its wings are released, and each slender white missile, one after the other is fired toward Kyo, all four of the bad boys exploding on impact, again completely tearing up the ground, and quite possibly causing some of the other nearby wreckage to abruptly explode. Hope no one has to clean that up!

COMBATSYS: Kyo dodges MilMi-24's 57-mm Rocket Pods.

Kusanagi manages to smash open the windshield of the cockpit, but isn't able to climb inside. Perhaps it's for the best; once he took care of the pilots it wouldn't be like he would know how to control the chopper afterwards.

He lands on the ground and takes off running again, this time being chased by missiles, the explosions getting closer and closer to his back with each launch, and with one of the walls of the hangar quickly approaching, Kyo is about to run out of room. Time to reaffirm those pilots thoughts that he's a crazy bastard. Kyo turns around and leaps onto one of the missiles just a second or so before it hits the ground. He plants off the explosive projectile and leaps again towards the assault helicopter. With the explosion of the missile silhouetting him from behind, he tries a mighty flying kick to the side of the chopper's nose, "HAAAAAAH!"

COMBATSYS: MilMi-24 blocks Kyo's RED Kick.

"Damn, looks like he got away again. How can a -human- be so difficult to lock onto?" the pilot in front spits in obvious frustration.
".... What??" the second yells out, the voices nearly completely deafened by not just the explosions, but the hellacious roar of the helecopter blades. But now wasn't the time to be bitching and moaning, no not when 'Crazy' Kyo Kusanagi is on a missle hopping mission of destruction. He shows up on radar just soon enough for pilot reflexes to pull in and slowly start to pull back. It's not enough to completely avoid the kick, however.
The foot makes a dull but loud -thunk- into the crafts nose, denting it in deeply and in the process forces the thing to veer off to the side, one wing smashing into the wall.
Luckily it was already wearing down, thus the wall takes much more damage, in fact crumbling on impact while the Hind takes some more scratches. Breaking into a sweat, what's an air fighter going to do? Not much other choice than to fire like a maniac, but with the machinegun in danger of overheating (bwuh?) this time the weapon can only fire in a short burst, another hail of bullets ripping toward Kyo and hopefully putting a dent in -HIM-.

COMBATSYS: Kyo overcomes Medium Shot from MilMi-24 with Yami Barai.

Again, Kyo leaps up to strike at the helicopter, then hits the ground. He's tired of running around though, this time he stands his ground, even assuming his ready position (even though it's hard to be "ready" when facing off against a damn helicopter). When the Hind opens fire again, Kyo takes a different approach. He pushes both hands forward, summoning forth an immense amount of crimson flame which he then tosses with both arms in an overhand fashion towards the chopper's chaingun.

Against the searing crimson flames of the Kusanagi, mere metal bullets stand little chance. They melt into slag on contact, and provide little resistance to the swirl ball of fire that continues on it's way towards the helicopter.

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits MilMi-24 with Yami Barai.

There comes a point in a mans life where someone just has to say.. 'Crap.'.
That is probably what's going on within the pilots minds when they see Kyo summoning forth the tasty Kusanagi flames which completely devours those bullets. Though it happens so fast, the pilots just don't see that, more than the massive burst of fire headed their way.

It's obvious that the machine can't handle that kind of power, it's too immense and too unnatural for what it's made of, the moment that fire hits it's like a fireworks show, things explode, shrapnel flies everywhere, the helicopter blades catch on fire, and it's a wonder if the pilots actually survived all of that.
They did.
The pilot in the front though, he's got nothing left, slumped weakly over the board while the pilot in the back is down to his last breath, face dripping with blood and helmet completely demolished, "Is that all you've got??" he yells, a mad look in his eye as the craft starts to spin out of control, yet somehow make a beeline to the Kusanagi heir, "If we're going to hell.. WE'RE TAKING YOU WITH US!! HA HA HA HAA!!"

And he's not joking around he'll do it too, the moment that chopper hits the ground or Kyo himself, that's when everything just goes up. Black smoke, orange fire, ceiling crashing down, and all the ammo withing the weapon exploding. Huge? Oh yes. Hope everyone found a safe spot to take cover!

"Tch!" Kusanagi certainly didn't expect to totally obliterate the chopper with that blast of flame, perhaps he overdid it a little? The Hind starts to spin out of control, completely maimed and longer able to keep itself aloft. Normally this would be a good thing if that particular attack helicopter had just been trying to kill you. Unfortunately for young Kusanagi, one of the pilots of the chopper has finally found a way to carry out his master Vega's orders.

Kyo realizes the Hind is actually spinning TOWARDS him a second too late; he reaches up above his head, trying to prepare another gout of flame that will hopefully vaporize the chopper, but as soon as he opens his mouth to yell out the defiant name of his attack, he's squashed.

*BOOM*

It's a few minutes before the dust and debris clear from the crash landing, the explosion of the Hind striking the deck of the hangar more than enough to completely obliterate whatever was left of the structure. After everything has settled, a terrible screeching noise, of metal upon metal, eminates from the hulk of scrap that was one of Shadaloo's prized flying machines of doom. This is followed by a blast of crimson fire that shoots out of the top of the wrecked machine, creating a small hole for a bruised and bloodied, but definitely still living, Kyo Kusanagi to crawl out of. "This isn't what a real battlefield should be..." he pants as the extricates himself from the wreck. Behind him he pulls the body of one of the pilots. He collapses to his rear, sitting down on the Hind while proding at the chopper pilot, checking for signs of life, "Hey... hey, you alright?"

Ah so Kyo managed to live. And managed to bring one of the carcasses out of the massive, flaming wreckage with him. For the people watching at home, they were quite sure that Kyo was dead, and unheard cheers must certainly follow, on the other hand, the feed isn't going to last much longer at this rate. Once Kyo crashes down on his butt, that's pretty much when the recording dies into snow on all screens.
The pilot only has but a few seconds of life left, he's near charred and bleeding like crazy, and for some reason in his good eye is a look of amusement. With a grin, he reaches up with a burned hand toward Kyo, spits out some more blood and manages to utter, ".. You're good... Kid.. But maybe if you beg, and confess.. To your foolishness.. Lord Vega will still let you join him."
And for you watching at home, perhaps if you squint just right at the white, snowy feed, you just may see an image of the Shadaloo skull insignia, and with the volume turned up high enough, the maniacal laughter of the Psycho-powered Warlord.

"Hmph. Probably better he died that way."

Out of the smoke of the wreckage, a tall, redheaded figure that could only be Iori Yagami saunters towards the battered fighter. The Orochi-tainted man has his hands shoved in his pockets, and a dour expression on his face. It's a very usual look for him.

"But you're still alive, aren't you?" the redhead raises a hand to his forehead, fingers sliding through his hair as he lifts his face to look down his nose at the Kusanagi scion. "That's good. I'm not sure if I'd be able to get any sleep if things between us ended like that. Well, are you ready to die..."

Iori's hand strays from his face, purple flames trailing from between his fingers. His eyes dwindle to pinpoints. "...Kyo?!"

Inevitably, no matter who they fight, no matter what tournaments they win or what surprises lie in the wings store for them after the final bouts... for them, it will always come down to one thing.

Kyo Kusanagi versus Iori Yagami.

"Heh, yeah, I'm still alive..." Kyo says, apparently not shocked to see Iori here. As usual, the Orochi-tainted flame-wielder has impeccable timing. Kyo pockets the keycard and hops off the wreckage of the attack chopper, starting to casually walk towards Yagami as if nothing just happened, though he does rotate one arm a little, apparently working out a little kink in his shoulder. He comes to a halt a few meters from his life-long rival, smirking widely.

"...After all, I'd hate to die and take away your only reason for living."

Kyo drops into his ready stance, willing to commence millenia-old rivalry once again, "Let's finish this, Yagami!"

"You always say that, Kyo," Iori replies, his voice starting to break, as if he was having trouble controlling the severity of his tone. He takes a step forward, hunching over slightly, baring teeth that are just a little too sharp. By now his hands are engulfed completely in fire, thin wisps trailing into the air as he makes his way towards Kusanagi.

And then he breaks into a run, arms reaching out like a monster from a bad nightmare. As is expected of a man of his talent, Iori closes the distance in speeds that will have to be replayed in slow motion for the audience at home. The lunge for Kyo's neck is a lightning raid of brutality.

"BUT YOU ALWAYS DISAPPOINT ME!"

Kyo's actions mirror Iori's. Kyo breaks into a dash, and the two fighters are, literally, at each other's throats in an instant. Kyo's own hand reaches for Yagami's neck at the same time his rival reaches for his.

Kyo says, "YAGAMI!!!!!!!!"

The two impact each other simultaneously. Hands at each others throats, enough steely determination shown between the two to spell out just exactly how alive this ancient death pact is today.

For several tortured moments, Iori keeps his hands on Kyo, summoning up all the flame he can possibly call upon. The pain threatens to drive him over the edge; not just the crimson fire spiralling around him, but the touch of Orochi deep in his chest. He suddenly becomes aware that he can't breath anymore.

"KYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

There is an explosion on both sides. The fighters are engulfed completely, purple and crimson flames twisting and twining together in the air. The inferno rages out of control, spreading along the ground as if it were alive. The two colors fight for dominace, the snake-like Yagami flames slithering between the defenses of and simultaneously being cut apart by the sharper, clearer Kusanagi.

Another explosion sends tremors through the ground that can be felt for miles. It comes from within the conflagration, however; the visible result is the fire taking to the air where both the tainted and the cleansed die off.

Of Iori and Kyo, there remains nothing but a titanic hole in the ground leading to a vast and dark cave system. Every once and awhile, there is a flash of crimson or purple light and the a shout of pain or triumph, but soon enough those fade away as well.

It is, after all, a blood feud.

COMBATSYS: Kyo has left the fight here.

COMBATSYS: Iori has ended the fight here.

Miles and miles away, a woman sits up in the middle of the night, gazing out towards the thick and gibbous moon, shining wanly through the steamy tropical air of Thailand. How long was she travelling? she thinks, pressing a hand to her forehead.

Her eyes close again, but in thought. Her lips then curl down into a slight, faint frown, as if realizing an ancient pact is once again approaching fruition - but, perhaps, unlikely to reach it.

Rose slides from the sheets and puts on a bathrobe before leaning her head out the hotel room door. "Excuse me," she calls down to the sullen porter, whose salary she has been paying for the last week. "Bandages. We will need many, and before long."

Addendum:

World Warrior faces more shenanigans

With the previous 'Finals' match still under investigation, what World Warrior officials have declared the 'official' final match (set in Thailand) has met an even further puzzling development thanks to the work of hackers and other mysterious persons.

Many could only watch in awe as the match between Mr. Big and Kyo Kusanagi completed, only for further drama to be brought into the picture. What was likely to be set up as a presentation of the World Warrior Trophy and an invitation to a ceremony was instead replaced with an aerial run-in and what seemed to be an invitation from Vega of Shadaloo. Kyo declined this invitation and was immediately assaulted by what was recognized as a Hind D helicopter, which met a fiery demise. Viewers were then left with dead feed and maniacal laughter.

Investigators have found that the 'effects' at the conclusion of the chaos, and the voice projection at the end of the match was the work of a mostly-anonymous hacker group known as 'Live-D' whom had managed to intercept the feed.

The destroyed Hind D was traced back to a recently liberated weapons port within Prachuap Khiri Khan area, taken without permission. Of the bodies within the craft, one was identified as under the influence of an illegal substance. The other was unidentified, though there's suspicion that they were an employee of Shadaloo.

"It doesn't make much sense," Detective Malcolm Williams, the head investigator, replied when asked to comment. "If Shadaloo was involved, there's no reason for them to have to break into a port -or- hire some punks to hack into a live feed. If it's an elaborate set-up, there's no telling what the point of it all was at this time aside from the possibility that someone doesn't like Kyo. A lot of people are being played for fools here, so someone or someones are going to pay dearly for this. That much is certain."

World Warrior officials are similarly troubled, and have denied any relation to the post-finals activity. It has been stated that the official recognition will be celebrated as normal if Kusanagi accepts. Security at all locations have been tightened.
