SNF 2007.06 - Dance! Miu vs Momoko

Description: Rhythm vs Recluse: Momoko is scheduled to dance at a Brazilian dance club! Miu... gets convinced to show up there. TERROR IN THE DISCO! (Draw Match)

The "Sonotheque" dance club is legendary for is state-of-the-art dance beats and swanky interior, curved walls shaped to allow for optimal acoustic balance. It's more or less regarded as one of the best dance clubs in the city -- and considering that Rio de Janeiro is =already= one of the best places for vacations and nightlife in the free world, that's saying something!
Tonight the club was interested in something a little... different. Something wild and crazy to get people =excited= again! Sonotheque's been on the cutting edge of awesomeness for several years, here, and tonight's no exception, as they've tapped the talent of a little twelve-year-old Japanese girl, Momoko, in order to be the main headliner for the evening! The girl's no stranger to the spotlight -- but it's a first for her to be recognized as a =dancer= here in Brazil, the homeland of the modern form of her sport, capoeira!
Lights! The spotlight hits little Momoko as she's dolled up like a peacock, feathers and jangly-things catching the light in scintillating detail! The girl spreads her plumage in an exaggerated bow!
Camera! Spotlights fall on her backup dancers -- half of them beautiful ladies in similar green-and-yellow plumage, the other half, strapping young Capoeira fighters in the baggy pants of their sport! Obviously... Momoko's dual talents are the showpiece tonight!
Action! The show is perfectly choreographed, as Momoko leaps into a flashy Au Chibata maneuver, flipping forward and twisting her legs about, while her male dancers follow suit! The women stay back for a moment -- but their role becomes clear as Momoko snaps out of her kick, whipping into an energetic routine! The crowd goes =wild= at the routine, what with the dancers following her lively dance steps, and the fighters matching her acrobatics! The audience is even invited to dance, in traditional Rio fashion! Whooooo! Can you feel the excitement?

It's so... noisy.

Her flight wasn't special. Her trip to the hotel wasn't too special. And the trip to the club in which she's been assigned to fight in as part of the televised craziness tonight? Well, it was done on foot-- so it wasn't all that special, either. Stopped at the door, it takes a flashed slip of paper with her information on it to get the doors opened and the dance club's halls opened to Seijyun Girls Academy's tiniest fighter.

Pressing through the crowd until she reaches the forefront, Miu's attire is close to the norm-- the same look from the waist-down, but a dark short sleeved shirt and the snug armwarmers she's taken to wearing since the spring came around. Is there excitement in the air?! Sure. Is the vigor of youth in the air?! Sure! But as she stands silently at the forefront amidst the patrons, fight fans, and capoeira enthusiasts, Miu Kurosaki's expression is rather neutral... and that, as well as her choice in clothing colors, will probably make her stand out a little more than she anticipated with a vibrant, cheerful audience like this.

What goes through the psion's mind at a time like this? Of course, one thing: 'Is she -taller- than me?'

The rhythmic samba music reverberates throughout the club as the Momoko-led dance number continues! The martial artists' and dancers' performances never really outshine the tiny dynamo's energy, but they certainly bring out different aspects of her dance. One thing is clear -- the crowd's loving it, and in many ways is following along. Surely they can't emulate the acrobatics with such tight quarters, nor can they really turn to stop =watching= the girl -- but they do follow along with some of her moves every now and again!
Partway through her performance, Momoko notices a well of darkness moving through her sea of color. She's fully aware of Miu's arrival, of course -- that's what Saturday Night Fights are for, after all! But Momoko's got several songs in the set list... and it's not long before this particular one draws to a finale!
Said finale is modified slightly to account for Miu's position -- as it has Momoko leaping offstage. She's not stage-diving, no -- just somersaulting right over Miu's head, body curling from the landing before she recovers, throwing her arms wide for a loud, "Hurrraaaay!" as the spotlight catches up with her sudden motions!
But there's stony silence for a moment, as there's not just one spotlight -- but =two= -- one for Momoko, one for Miu. And Momoko's quite clearly indicating Miu with one of her extended hands. Ever one for showmanship, Momoko grins -- as she speaks into a slim headset clipped to her ear, her tiny voice carrying throughout the silenced club: "HELLO, RIO!" At least =that= gets some applause going again! "Don't be shy -- we have another special guest for you this evening! Let's give a warm Rio de Janeiro welcome to Miss Miu Kurosaki, from Southtown's very own Seijyun High School!" More thunderous applause! WHOOOO!
Grinning brightly, she gestures for the stage, grinning back at Miu. "Would you care to lead us back to the stage, Miss Kurosaki?"
Of course, her eyes wander a bit, as she ponders to herself, '... is she =shorter= than me? '

COMBATSYS: Momoko has started a fight here.

For someone as young as she reportedly is, Miu mentally admits that the skills and display put on by Momoko are actually quite impressive. The twists and flips, and then the flying manuver right over her own head! -- Not that it's difficult. Content with that, her eyes likewise shift her expression from 'neutral' to 'surprised', now that she's got a whole lot of attention turned her way. And-- 'Lead us?' Puzzled by the phrase, she wonders for a moment if the small martial artist means to -dance- back to the stage.

No. She -can't- mean that. "A-All right."

Her face a little flush with embarassment, the crow girl of Seijyun turns back to the stage and starts walking, her head tilted forward and trying to keep her composure. Grabbing onto the edge, she vaults up with a swing of her legs and the back of her hand set to keep her skirt from flaring up while she gets her footing and rises. The raven-haired girl's hands ball into fists as they rise to her shoulders-- then snap down sharply, a massive burst of feathers exploding from her hands and scattering through the air of Sonotheque. "Let's ... get started."

Well, Momoko was =hoping= the girl would dance! She loves improvising, working with other people to follow their beat. ... But she is also fine with simply walking along, too! Some audience members clap at Miu's puzzlement, some laugh, some snicker, but most welcome the newcomer! They're here for a fight, after all!
Momoko strides along behind Miu, not wanting to upstage her with another acrobatics show now that she's been introduced. But she =will= continue talking! "Yaaay! Thank you so much for having us here tonight! It's really an honor to be performing for everyone here in the very heart of nightlife! I've always been excited about Rio de Janeiro, ever since I was even littler! So many people here, so much =energy=, it's really invigor... invirogat... exciting!" She leaps up onto the stage in similar fashion to Miu -- it's hard to be -more- reserved than her, but Momoko manages to at least -match- the gesture. It's not often she wears such feathery clothes in a fight, after all. Bare thighs? Scandal! But she's a performer, she'll get used to it.
Hopping a bit, she waves back to the crowd cheerfully. "Okay, people! Thanks again! With this... we'll be starting our match! Please feel free to bust your own moves on the dance floor! We really love your energy!" Beaming, she turns back to Miu, curtsying... "So... shall we begin?"
The other performers stand back, giving the fighters plenty of room -- and on signal, they begin a slower, less attention-getting dance, to place the focus on the fighters. The grinning capoeirista herself launches into a spirited kick -- one hand on the ground, as one bare foot whips overhead at Miu. "Haaa!"

The song is in place. The fighters are in place. And Miu ... still feels awful silly here. But rather than a polite bow or other gesture to get her started, Miu simply nods-- and stands at what may seem to be ready, arms hanging loose at her sides and standing awfully relaxed. Momoko's movements are speedy and strong, and the Seijyun student sweeps up her arm to brace the blow against her hands, set over her head and cupped to catch the impending boot to the head.

That kick... wasn't too bad, now that she has a moment to think about it. From Miu's pose, the smaller of the two girls steps back and twirls around, her arm swinging up with the motion to cast a glowing black energy feather from her hand-- and with a sharp step on the heel of her light blue shoe, the Kurosaki girl swings her arm a second time, sending another feather at Momoko!

Momoko's opening kick wasn't intended to hurt too much, really... the capoeirista actually felt bad sending =too= much Miu's way for an opening. The girl's just so... quiet... and shy! ... But at least she's in the mood with feathers, albeit not the bright yellow and green kind.
Momoko snaps back to her feet, and when that feather whirls in, Momoko snaps her knee high to catch it! She grits her teeth slightly, the sensation of the feathers' energy stinging into her bare leg. Well, bare except for the attention-getting feathery anklets, mind. She's not used to the feeling... but she better =get= used to it!
The Psycho-Soldier-in-training remains resolute though -- the feather may have =hurt= but it's hardly something that can keep the girl down for long! Nodding back to Miu, she chirps, "Good! You're getting into it!" ... At which point she leaps forward, somersaulting into a tiny ball -- before lashing her leg out in an inverted toe kick at Miu, aimed at crashing right into the base of her neck. "Haaaaa!"

Getting ... into it? That would be something up for debate considering the way that she stands there and handles herself. Still, the tiny ball of feathers and excitement that is Momoko is back up to speed faster than she had planned on-- and getting a stiff kick just below the neck for all her efforts. "Gfff-!!" is all that screams out of her throat as her breath is caught at a bad moment, lungs wanting to expel it but the sudden compression forbidding it.

She stumbles at first, breaking into light hops on one foot to put her just aside from her opponent's range. Hand set at her throat for a moment, Miu's not taking the time to catch her breath or give her opponent a whole lot of room to exploit on the tiny frame of Kurosaki. Stepping back in close, the crow girl's arm reaches out to snag Momoko by whatever limb is offered, hopping into the air to slam her hip in and drive the miniature capoeira master to the ground!

And yes, there's even a burst of feathers when she goes for the swift, hip-checking bump.

Momoko always looks on the bright side of life! Every cloud has a silver lining, and every motion, no matter how subtle, can be a sign of hope. Momoko hopes that Miu can be more energetic in this battle! That's the kind of battle she likes most!
So it's probably a =good= thing that Miu recovers from that kick, and moves to capitalize on it. Momoko had already started to backflip forward again for another kick, this time inverting herself again so that she can slam her heels into Miu! But it seems Miu's a bit quicker on the draw, and manages to grab Momoko's leg in mid-swing, haul her up, and slam her hip into the tiny dynamo! Wham!
The Hamaoka native flies back from the blow, wincing as she spins about to regain control in mid-flight, but it seems -- surprisingly! -- that she's not able to do so! Her legs and arms flail about, but her fall is stopped just short of the ground as she inadvertently lands on top of one of her backup dancers! Oof!
They go down like a sack of potatoes, but Momoko leaps out as soon as she's able, taking a moment to bow to the dancer, "Oh, sorry! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it, I didn't!" Red-faced, she turns back to Miu -- and forges a brief smile. "You surprised me! Good one!"

Whump! Thud! And -- whoops, that was one of the background dancers. Hand sweeping up to her mouth with a face filled with embarassment, the darker one starts to stammer out something to say, but Momoko seems to have the situation well in hand. Her mouth draws into an awkward line as she's given a compliment, trying her hardest to keep a flat stare-- at least until she's more comfortable with the other martial artist, which ... in a setting like this, will just not happen anytime soon.

Shaking out her right hand a bit, Miu begins to walk closer to Momoko with a careful, metered pace. The energy begins to rise within the little crow girl-- which to someone remotely sensitive to the forces that exsist in this world, the teeming overabundance only grows larger. Spilling out into physical form, more and more glowing black and white feathers grow from her hand and arm, twisting, floating, and falling lightly to the ground before disappearing. Hopefully Momoko's moved away from the dancers by this point, as the Seijyun student reels back her arm and throws what looks like a -massive- punch, a cone-shaped 'lance' of feathers bursting away from her fist to dig and slam into her!

So Miu's a quiet one! And Momoko is very much the opposite! Haha, you zany SNF organizers! The twelve-year-old seems to take this in stride however, bowing ever so slightly to Miu, before moving to approach her again.
Only to widen her eyes at the surge of energy that immediately precedes the storm of black and white feathers. Yep, Momoko's got =some= sense of what's coming next -- she'd had her suspicions with the feathers before, but there's no doubt at all now! "Oh, wow! You know--"
But the amazed girl doesn't get to finish! Raising her knee, she's able to once again block the torrent of energy... only barely able to stand on her remaining foot as she's forcibly shoved back a good three feet. Ugh!
The lil' tween asks cheerily as she brushes feathers out of her eyes, "Mm... you know how to use Psycho Power too?" She certainly doesn't seem =disappointed=... far from it! But rather, she twists her torso about, spinning into a flip kick... and uses that as a recentering motion so that she can put herself back in a dancing mood! Hips swaying from side to side, she gets back into her ginga -- it's on now! "Ne, ne, when did you first find out you could do that?"

COMBATSYS: Momoko focuses on her next action.

The crash of feathers slams against Momoko's leg as Miu's fist stays lunged forward. Her fist twists to the left on impact, the feathers accelerating and attempting to crush the younger girl's guard in order to give her the edge-- and hopefully bring a whole lot of damage. But it isn't to be! No, those feathers drive forward into the tip of the 'lance' and explode outward in a broad, vertical spiral that showers the stage and the audience closest to the stage with the energy-- though by now, it wouldn't harm a soul as it starts to fizzle and fade.

Psycho power-- that's what the strange man in the bladed cape called it, too. Rolling her wrist around and letting a few quiet pops and creaks emerge from within, Miu's eyebrows furrow and ... she becomes inquisitive. "So that's what they really do call it? I only heard the term once."

To counter Momoko's sway, the girl almost remains as still as death. "Shortly after I came to Seijyun. I'm ... nevermind. You don't need to know." Miu's hands shift and her short frame leans ahead-- and then she steps in one more time, looking to clip the dancing girl right in the ankles with a quick toe kick. Feathers glide across the toe and sole of her shoe, as well!

Psycho Power -- the concept is unfamiliar to Miu, it seems. Momoko nods slowly -- she didn't even know the name until she studied up, herself "Athena Asamiya uses it!" The girl seems even more interested once Miu starts talking -- but quirks her head to the side once the older girl stops. No, you don't =need= to talk...
But Momoko's never really been the pushy type. She's a good girl, really! "Okay!"
Momoko has already sprung into motion by the time Miu's foot gets to her -- she's airborne, in the midst of a somersault, when she's tagged! Slightly shaken from the blow ,she manages to recover, landing on her toes...
At which point she curls into another tumble, rolling along the ground at Miu. Momoko's determined to show off her =own= Psycho Power, a warm, pink aura seeming really discordant with her green and yellow feathers, but it's still sufficiently powerful enough to convey a rather forceful impact. ... And if it isn't, her multiple tumbling kicks to the shins should pick up the slack. "PHOENIX ARRROOOOOW!"

The famous pop idol?! The thought almost bothers Miu for a moment's time, stuck in the thought that there really are a whole lot more people like her out there. A lot of people've called her sort of power unique-- but not that her own manifestations would be any less personal if others -did- have that kind of power...

Miu steps in as Momoko's feet briefly take the brunt of the 'blow', and she's taken for quite the ride as the small girl sprawls forward into a ball and smashes the legs right out from under the crow girl. Her arms flap in the air as her legs spread and she pitches straight forward, allowing the mini capoeira master to continue along while she in turn slams face-first into the ground. "OW!!"

Scooting up into a kneel, Miu swings a leg up and stomps hard on the stage. Using that set leg as a base to rise, a raven ponytail swings around hard and Seijyun's representative lunges through the air and fans her fingers out into a clawed motion, sweeping down -hard- with both hands and feathers trailing from her palms to rail Momoko across whichever bodily surface ends up being presented.

The answer is: No bodily surfaces present themselves. Following the rhythmic beat of the music, and the supporting dancers (once the fallen one rejoins them), Momoko backflips just out of the way of the ferocious slash, not wanting to be hit by that particular burst of energy! "Ah! Almost!"
Ever the optimist, Momoko lands quickly, before twisting forward. It's a simple, spinning crescent kick that she first swings into Miu, but if allowed to continue she'd whirl forward into three more spinning kicks. She'd then shift forward, her torso going sideways as her legs windmill down, one after the other, into Miu's shoulders -- and if all =that= lands, she'd backflip, 'walking' her feet right up the Seijyun student so she can gain some wicked air time. "Ha! Ha! HAAAAAAA!" She really gets into her performance!

Nimble little squirt, isn't she? Miu's eyes lift to follow Momoko as she sails up into the air, her hands nearly slamming into the ground while she's left open-- wide, wide open. But ... Miu's speedy, herself! In fact, it's proven as Momoko's initial kick only strikes the dust hanging in the air and scattering the ends of the lengthy ponytail trailing from the side of Miu's head.

Shoes skidding on the surface of the stage as she slides backward, thin fingers drag on tips on the stage while she finds her center of gravity and carefully examines her own position. She's swift, she's dexterous, but ... can she keep up the pace?! The question posed may be answered very soon as a broad white feather bleeds out of the Kurosaki girl's knuckles, sweeping around a broad diagonal angle at Momoko!

So.. Momoko missed! Not really much point in following through with the rest of her blistering assault, there -- she may be a little disappointed, but oh well!
The girl nonetheless keeps her smile in full force as she springs back to her feet, swaying first to one side, then the other. When the diagonal strike comes hammering down, though, the girl dives into a low tumble to the opposite direction, barely bringing herself out of range! "Whew! Almost!" But then the girl springs back, ramming her knee up towards Miu's upper torso, following that knee strike up by unhinging her leg into a full extension to crash across the back of Miu's head! Not... =quite= expected for capoeira, but neither is a burst of Psycho Power, right?

The white feather 'blade' bleeds completely from Miu's knuckles as she continues the sweeping motion to turn nearly full circle, stopping somewhere around a one-eighty and simply reacting from there-- her small frame in profile, her purple-hue eyes with a sharp sense of clarity and resolve. Momoko's body was nowhere near the blade... unfortunate, but she has to keep moving or else suffer a nasty fate at the hands of ... happiness incarnate.

Her body bends back and her foot pushes her away from little Momoko-- but then the psycho energy within the tiny Kurosaki begins to rise-- more and more, swelling to a level beyond the attack earlier. Feathers grow thick from all surfaces of her arm from fingertips to elbow while she slides on her heels across the distance of the stage. The feathers suddenly gather at the end of her knuckles as she comes into range and, with a grunt, Miu thrusts ahead her arm. The swirl swells greatly before exploding-- a gigantic lance of feathers, tightly packed and drilling ahead at Momoko in order to strike her full-force, to lance through her defenses and hit ... well, pretty hard. "ONE MORE!!" she suddenly snaps out over the roar of energy-- the roar that sounds like... wingbeats? And a whole lot of them, though it doesn't seem to overtake the volume of the music and the sound of the crowd...

So Momoko's kick was less than successful -- but that's okay! She's fine with see-saw battles like this! Beaming, she resumes her dancing stance, synchronized with the dancers as always.
But what an interesting sight to see! Momoko's certainly glad to be fighting Miu -- she's definitely got her own unique twist! She slides to the side with that beat, raising her arms... and positively =glowing= with her own pink Psycho Power. The feathers and shiny thingamadoos on her flashy outfit flutter like crazy -- more from the storm of feathers rocketing just past her. Even still, she's forced to stagger back a few steps from the attack! If Momoko hadn't moved to the side, and if she hadn't channeled forth her power, that would certainly have affected a lot harder -- but as it is, she's spared most of the fury.
"Ne, ne, that's pretty cool! It reminds me of a show I used to watch on TV!" But the girl doesn't waste any more time -- she races up to Miu's feet, swirling her right foot around into a sweep kick -- but if that lands, she'd suddenly rise up into a backflip, bringing her left foot crashing into Miu's upper torso! An S-dobrado into a macaco ought to please the crowd! "Haaa!"

And like the last attempt, her mighty Chou Yomosugara explodes into a vertical spray of feathers, though the sheer volume this time around makes the rain of feathers a little heavier and thicker than before. Miu pants and breathes hard as the feathers scatter and her small body is revealed from the other side of the massive psion 'lance'. Momoko's ... largely unharmed, it seems, and the look on the Seijyun student's face is less than enthused.

Still in her deep lunging strike 'stance', it makes her very much open and vulnerable for more assaults. It's shown when Momoko's back in her face all the faster, sweeping out one of her ankles-- but her foot hooks back down and lands with an agile toe-down stance, leaning back to dodge while the mini-Psycho Soldier (... in training!) leads that kick up to scrape across her ribs and send her spinning a little more out of control than she would've liked. Miu lands on one hand and her knees, skidding to a halt. Her weight shifts to sit on her heels for a moment, catching her breath and watching carefully-- she can't take this kid for granted at all...

"Are you really only twelve?"

Momoko flips back to her feet, rocking her shoulders to the side so that she can realign herself to the beat of the music. Those dancers are still going strong... even though the DJ has started crossfading into another song by this point.
Is she really twelve? What a silly question! Momoko quirks her head to the side for a moment before nodding slowly, "I... am really twelve, yes...! Why, are you really fifteen?" The purpose behind the question... evades her, to say the least!
And she leaps forward again, feet first -- though this time she's aiming to snake her feet around Miu's waist, one foot on either side. If she manages to get a hold of her, she'd twist herself sharply to one side -- with any luck, Miu would be taken off her feet and slammed to the floor at her side, as well! "Haaa!"

Planting her feet and rising to her feet, Miu's left in an awkward position while Momoko charges ahead-- and a pair of legs are now locked around her waist. Baring her teeth and jerking back her fist, the crow girl of Seijyun cocks back her fist and forms another psi-feather from her knuckles, looking ready to grab the mini capoeira combatant and reverse the hold to her liking. Speed verses a telegraphed punch... well. It ends up with the shorter (somehow) girl being driven into the stage with a loud grunt.

Padding at the floor with her hands and knees, Miu wriggles away from Momoko's grasp and shuffles around until she can get back up to her feet, unsure of her movements and stance. Thoughts reel in her mind: This girl-- she's so unpredictable! It's become hard to really get a grasp of her manuvers so far... Is this what actual capoeira is like?

Actual capoeira... is probably a bit different! Momoko's added some other techniques to surprise opponents and keep things interesting!
Like that throw. While kick-oriented, it's a bit difficult for the girl to execute with any kind of reliability due to her size. So it probably wouldn't have worked on anyone but Miu! Momoko kicks back to her feet, smiling back at her opponent! "This is fun! Though... are you normally this quiet? You are, right, right?" The girl scissor-steps backwards, hands flapping to either side for a moment -- she needs to build up some momentum!
Because the next thing she does is an armada dupla flip -- twisting to one side, revolving while flipping into the air, and then bringing both feet crashing down onto Miu, quite possibly with her still on stage! "Hiiiii-HAAAAAAAA!"

For as calm and collected as Miu can be, there're times where it's so easy to shake her confidence or break her concentration-- it's usually done in moments like this, when someone asks her a question so frankly that it takes her by surprise. "S-So what if I am?!" she responds, caught somewhere between an inability to speak and an inability to keep her tone in check. The sudden shake in focus is shown even when Momoko hurries in to attack-- and as the crow girl brings up her hands to stop the kick, she seems to only -just- pull it off. Momoko's weight drives her down to one knee, and she rolls to one side to give her a little bit more breathing room.

"It's not a big deal!" she exclaims, shifting her weight from one leg to the other. Miu makes a jump-- more of a lunge-- and angles toward Momoko. It's rare for her to fight an opponent as small as she is, as found in the awkward hesitation found as she almost seems to stop mid-air while her body rotates hard in a full circle, her leg lashing out to plant a fierce kick in Momoko's chest, feathers and all!

COMBATSYS: Momoko fails to interrupt Strong Kick from Miu with Phoenix Arrow.

"It's not a bad thing! I just -- " Momoko reaches her hand out, wanting to explain... but then Miu more or less dismisses the entire exchange as inconsequential. "Oh, uh, okay! I just wanted to make sure--" Again, she's interrupted -- this time by a kick.
Now that's just not right. Momoko's obsessive enough about her lack of dimension in the chestal region without someone goin' out and kicking her there! But sure enough, even though the girl is glowing an intense shade of pink, the girl is unable to backflip into the one move she'd wanted to show Miu once again! ... Instead, no, she gets slammed in the chest, =blasted= backwards in a flurry of feathers, some of which are Miu's, some from Momoko's costume.
Ugh! That kinda hurt! Momoko picks herself up from the stage, shaking her head dizzily. She definitely missed a beat =there=, that much is sure!

Is it really that big of a deal? Miu's attitude has been known to shift wildly and dramatically as the course of some battles drag on-- usually against the opponents that pick and drag at her social life and attitude. And so it's shown-- the hard spin, the lashing leg. The hesitation! All of it rolls up into one sturdy kick that crashes into Momoko's chest and sends her sailing away.

Giving Momoko a few moments to collect herself, the crow girl of Seijyun Girls Academy sprints in hard and sucks in a deep rush of air. Charging the small girl, the smaller girl springs into the air over the festive one's head. Her hand reaches out to snag Momoko by the shoulder and guide her 'flight', knees sweeping around to plant into her back and hold steady. If she gets at least this far successfully, her fist cocks back to the sight of a white feather bleeding forth from her knuckles and a fierce punch to the back of the head! It has enough force to knock Momoko off her feet, as well as hurtle Miu into the air as if she were on a wire rig, at that!

COMBATSYS: Momoko blocks Miu's Psi-Launcher.

No... not really a big deal! Momoko just likes making people happy, and the easiest way to tell if someone's happy is if they're smiling. Second is if they talk like they're happy. Miu's not really doing much other than vehemently denying that she's emo, but in doing so, she's proving that she's not, er, MAD? So that's fun!
... Momoko doesn't know what the heck Miu just did, but she knows she wasn't totally gonna like the results! What she =does= know is that she's suddenly gone from being on the stage, to being in the =air=... and that kinda freaks her out! Twisting sharply to one side, she's able to free herself before those knuckles crash into her -- but in doing so, she ends up taking a nasty bump as she impacts the stage. Ugh!
Momoko's a bit different than other girls though. When she gets hit, she gets MORE POWERFUL. This is made visible by the addition of a rather bright pink aura that surges up from within. Looking out towards Miu, she shouts, over the cacophony of something that sounds like a touch-tone phone from the 80s: "Thanks for showing me your feathers! I'm going to show you something special of mine, though, okay? Okay?"
And then all heck breaks loose, as that pink power collecting in her hands is channeled forward, a ginormous torrent of energy erupting out... quite large enough to swallow Miu whole! And her little doggie too if she has one. "ES-PERRRR!"

COMBATSYS: Miu blocks Momoko's Esper.

Twisting in the air and her target suddenly -not- where she's supposed to be, it puts Miu in a bit of an awkward position-- one where she's airborne and her opponent has a whole lot of room to attack. Landing on one hand, she quickly swings her legs down to half-handspring out of her motion and bleeds the feather out of her knuckles until it fizzles on stage. She's going to -- what?!

Bringing up her arms, feathers trail from her fists and forearms like so much gauntlets and cesti to protect her body... and boy is it needed. Gritting her teeth and holding steadily against the burst, she finally reels backward and sprawls out on the stage, propping herself up with her hands. Her armwarmers are throughly thrashed by this point-- torn up along the length and the frayed edges smouldering.

Shuffling up to her feet and dusting her forearms off, Miu breathes slow and hard. "That hurt... a lot..."

Shaking out her hands, Miu steps in one more time and jerks her arm back and up-- and then swings hard with a feather-laiden chop at Momoko's collarbone in an attempt to, at the very least, drop her to one knee.

COMBATSYS: Momoko dodges Miu's Medium Punch.

Chop! Chop! ... Okay, Momoko wants none of this -- as mentioned before, she =is= only twelve! And thus, can't be taking a lot of the physical abuse and such! So she, likewise, gets the heck out of the way with a similar handspring!
"I'm sorry!" she apologizes, "I was just trying to--" ... It's about then that she realizes Miu probably wasn't trying to board Momoko upon the guilt train. So once she recovers... she launches herself at Miu in a "parifuso" - leaping into one aerial kick, swinging into a second kick with the opposite leg, before spinning about to drive into a downward "can opener" kick down at Miu. She's trying her best to be enthusiastic -- but really, Miu's been hurting her quite a bit!

COMBATSYS: Momoko successfully hits Miu with Medium Kick.

It'll all be over soon! Sooner than either of them had planned, no doubt. She flinches reactively when Momoko vacates the space of the chop aimed to strike her down, the feathers shaking from her hand while she moves to jerk back-- to get away, and then--

Get hit. Hard.

The three kicks plant in sequence, jerking her head back, twisting her about a bit, and then spiked into the stage. Hitting the ground with a hard gasp, the crow girl pushes off with her hands and rises up to her knees. Twisting hard to her side, her feet quickly plant-- and she spins. She keeps twirling step to step, front to back, back to front, and casting away a series of feathers in a swift barrage. If she's going down...!

Well, she falls back down to her hands and knees anyway...

COMBATSYS: Miu can no longer fight.

COMBATSYS: Miu successfully hits Momoko with Chou Hissatsu Amagakeri.

Well. Anything with 'Chou' in the name means 'hurt'. And Momoko wants no part of that!
.. But her chances of getting out of the way are pretty slim, considering... well, she just =landed= on Miu, and she's kicking right back =up= at her.
And kicking, and kicking, and kicking, and kicking! Momoko really isn't built to take damage of that degree; her tiny frame ratchets back with each powerful impact, until finally... well, she falls the heck over!
When she falls, she's totally bombarded with feathers. What's up with that?

COMBATSYS: Momoko has ended the fight here.

Bombarded with kicks-- and in turn, bombarding Momoko with feathers. The major collision seems to be over for the time being, but who truly was the victor? Miu was the one to fall first, but ... ah. Well. Miu!

Sprawled out on the ground from a mixture of fatigue, the amount of psionic energy that she's expended in the course of the battle... or even just from the smackdown that's been laid upon her by the tiny twelve-year old, little else could come from Kurosaki's body. As it stands, she opts for what may just be the best course of action by this point-- to catch her breath, find her bearings, and come to realize what exactly just happened.

She lost.

Somewhere in the mess she gets back up to her hands and knees, letting her head hang and shoulders slump a little bit. Why is it the only fights she could really win are the ones that aren't televised? -- And usually held somewhere in the forest around Seijyun's property? Looking up slowly, her face is vacant of the usual expression, searching for Momoko and to verify her condition.

Once she's gone that far, the Seijyun student slumps down to her side and rolls onto her back, just to stare at the ceiling and listen to the pounding of her own pulse fill her ears over the music. "That really hurt." she says to the ceiling. "That really hurt."

Huh. The dancers are pretty stunned by this! What now? Their star attraction is on the floor, and her competitor is also on the floor. They're dancers, they don't know who won!
That's what announcers are for. "It looks like we have a double K.O., people! Let's give both our stars a big round of applause!" Miu didn't lose at all!
But really, Momoko's not... unconscious just yet, either. She's REALLY CLOSE to taking a nap, though. Rubbing her head, she looks up and grins at Miu. "Cool... we'll... we'll have to fight again!"
... But really, the DJ knows what to do next. And the club customers know what to do next.
Dance.
As the dancers take front and center stage, some medics come out to help Momoko and Miu offstage. Rio parties are the best parties because Rio parties just don't stop!
