Description: An earthquake in Iceland makes a simple fight much more difficult for the three combatants involved. Kasumi and Katelynn take on Kensou in an epic battle! (Winner: Kasumi and Katelynn)
Welcome to Iceland! Home of... Icelandic stuff. Really, it's called 'Iceland', what're you expecting? Fjords and glaciers! Bjork! Volcanos! All in all, it's a pretty crazy place to have such a mundane name. And here, in the midst of the Laki Craters, IT'S ABOUT TO GET EVEN CRAZIER.
Perhaps a rarity for a Saturday Night Fight match, there's no live audience out here in the craters, but several helicopters hover and bank overhead, carrying the camera crews and announcers, and all the usual stuff needed to turn this match into exciting television for the people at home. Down in the seemingly barren ground of the crater, though, one of the fighters is already present; one of the Psycho Soldiers, Sie Kensou. The Chinese youth is limbering up a bit before the match, making sure he's one hundred percent ready to kick some ass. It's perhaps an unusual show of dedication from Kensou, but he's been driven to be at least a little more serious lately. Especially with events going on elsewhere in the world... But whatever's happening in Thailand, everybody else needs their Saturday night bread and circuses, right?
It's just the circus is people shooting energy blasts at each other and stuff.
As Kensou waits for the fight itself to start, he feels a faint sense of forboding. It might be about the fight itself, or it might be about something larger... Because, little does he or anyone else involved in the fight know that there's going to be a freaking EARTHQUAKE after they get started. But not yet, oh no. Right now, everything seems peaceful, quiet. A little too quiet.
Quiet and damn cold! Why did Kasumi have to get shipped off to Iceland of all places for a fight? It must be karma getting back at her since she was fighting in Southtown her past few appearances during SNF. Either way she bit the bullet and went on that plane anyways. So here she is in her usual fighting garb freezing her ass off not looking to be in the best of moods. At least she was provided with some hot chocolate before the match, but now here she has been lowered into the crater via one of the helicopters and she is rubbing her arms while teeth chatter. "The cold sucks."
Too bad it is going to only get worse for the young Todoh heiress. This place is going to be alot more chaotic than thought afterall. Though right now it is peaceful for the most part. At least Kensou seems to have the right idea in doing some repetitions to warm himself. If only there was some stuff around to build a small fire.
There are strange places for fights, and then, there really are strange places for fights. Namely the fact that this whole thing is taking place in Iceland. Not that it would be a strange place in itself, but the fact that the fight is taking place amongst craters and stuff like that. Now that's something really unusual right there. Then again, the point of the SNF is to have big fights in unique places, so they made a good choice.
Does the cold bother Katelynn? Not really, since she's wearing her gi and her warm martial arts shoes and socks. She's getting her body warmed up, doing some shadow sparring to get the blood pumping in her veins and her muscles heated up so she won't have to worry too much about freezing to death during this match. There's nothing more humiliating than getting an opponent down on the ropes only to end up losing because of frostbite.
Katelynn looks to see her accomplice, Kasumi, nearby, and greets her with a wave. "Hello," She says, "You must be my partner for tonight's match?" She asks confidently, despite the fact she's not entirely sure about this.
Pff, the cold! Concerns like that are for lesser minds! Besides, Kensou's spent plenty of time training in places where, frankly, he froze his butt off. Mountains of China? Cold! Mongolia? Freakin' freezing! But anything that doesn't kill you makes you stronger, that's what Chin always tells him. And then he passes out drunk, but does that compromise the value of the sage advice?
On second thought, don't answer that.
"Okay!!" Kensou declares enthusiastically as he straightens up, hopping lightly from foot to foot for a moment. So, he's up against two people at once again, he can deal with that; it's not like he's got to fight on the paddlewheel of a riverboat, or against some crazy guy who blows stuff up. It's just him against Kasumi and... Some girl he's totally unfamiliar with, but that can't possibly turn out badly, can it?
Stepping out more towards the middle of the crater in which they're starting, Kensou slips into his stance, facing the girls sidelong with his feet shoulder width apart, leading with his left hand; his left arm is loosely extended in front of him, while his right is pulled in to his side, both hands held in loose 'grasping' positions. "You two better come at me with everythin' ya got, otherwie you're gonna--" the rest of what he says is completely drowned out by the sudden voice from a loudspeaker on one of the helicopters, which announces quite loudly a single word: "FIGHT!!"
Kensou, meanwhile, shoots the helicopter in question a dirty look.

The cold will soon be forgotten. Once Kasumi starts fighting she will forget about it and her adrenaline rush will keep her warm. For now though she is still shivering when she is addressed by her partner. She claps her hands together and gives a short bow to Katelynn. "I am. Let us show him what we can do." she says in response before turning about and bowing to Kensou as well before straightening up. "And you, Meatbun! Now you shall see the true power of my style!"
If she were her father there would probably be a Kasane Ate being sent Kensou's way just now, but Kasumi has taken a different path with the Todoh style and even if she boasts alot like dear old dad she still takes a bit more time to take in her surroundings before things start. Even as the announcer tells the participants to begin Kasumi holds back for now, taking a few breathes as she focuses in on Kensou, her eyes never leaving the guy as she lets him or her partner make the first move.

Apparently, the announcer is too wimpy to face the cold. Oh well, he's not really here for the actual fight. Not a problem with Katelynn. Nonetheless, when the call to start fighting begins, Katelynn quickly shifts to her fighting stance, ready to strike at just about any moment. But despite this, she doesn't do anything.
Instead, she takes a moment to focus mentally on her opponent. Even if it is a two-on-one with her having the advantage, one opponent can easily turn the tables on two people.

That is not at all what Kensou told them to do! He told them to come at him, not stand around minding their own business. Of course, Kasumi's insult doesn't go unnoticed, his expression flattening as he looks down from that helicopter and over at the Todoh-ryuu fighter. But he's being serious and mature here, he's not going to stoop to Kasumi's level, oh no. Not immediately at least, because after a moment he tugs his lower eyelid down with one finger and sticks his tongue out at the younger Todoh. "Biiiih," he says, rather childishly. Meatbun indeed!
But since the two girls would rather stand there and watch him, it falls to Kensou to show them something, doesn't it? Something cool. Something awesome. Which is why the loose earth under his feet kicks up as he suddenly goes from a standing start to running, right at Katelynn. "Here it comes, the true might of Chinese Kenpo!!" he announces, throwing himself into a horizontal leap directly at the Shotokan girl, throwing out his left knee and elbow for a pair of simultaneous strikes. "Yo-!!" If that hits, then he twists at the waist, without putting a foot on the ground, to bring his right knee to bear next. "Ya--!!" And then, he keeps right on twisting, unfolding his left leg for a wild heel kick at the side of the girl's head. "Hyaa-!!"

A wild heel kick, huh? Well, that shouldn't be too hard to-- OOF!
Unfortunately, Katelynn mistimes Kensou's attack by a split second, and instead of avoiding it, she finds herself getting hit in the head a bit hard. This sends her staggering off to the right a little, slightly dizzied from that impact. Only a second later does she shake it off and stare at Kensou with a slight smirk. "Not bad, but I kind of allowed that, you know. Let's see if you're as good on defense as you are on offense!" And with that, she brings her right leg up towards Kensou's chin with a quick snap kick.
Oh no he did not.... As much as Kasumi was going to give Kensou for acting like a grown up she takes that back right at the moment he makes a face at her. Sputtering she raises a hand and shakes a fist towards Kensou getting ready to yell at him. THat is when the first small bit of rumbling hits. At first Kasumi brushes it off as perhaps a copter landing or the like, but none of them have when she looks around. She then raises her arms deciding it is nothing to worry about it. "Kasane..." she begins as she steps forward and brings her arms down to send a wave of chi hurtling towards Kensou. "At-AHHHH!"
Off goes the wave, but also the rumbling picks up again. This time it is much more noticeable as being an earthquake as Kasumi falls backwards right on her keister. And the fun thing isn't even that. The best part is the fact that given they are in a crater boulders are starting to come down and roll into said crater and are heading the fighter's way. "Uh oh...."

Oh, /that/ explains the weird feeling of foreboding Kensou had. Flipping back after the last hit on Katelynn, and landing in a low three-point stance, he raises his brows at her admission that she 'allowed' that... And he sees the foot coming his way, but he also feels the start of the quake. That's not good. It throws off his attempt to avoid Katelynn's foot as well, so he ends up getting clocked with it, the blow staggering him into... Kasumi's Kasane Ate, the wave of chi hitting him and knocking him further back, and then the earthquake starts in earnest, with the boulders and the hey. "Oh boy," he says, almost echoing Kasumi's own statement.
With the boulders on the way though, Kensou nevertheless does something fairly risky; remaining in that low crouching stance, he tenses a bit, and energy starts to whirl around him, motes of blue like tiny fireflies in a storm all about his person. What's he going to do if a boulder comes his way? That's a good question. But the two girls are, at the moment, of more concern!

Those boulders are coming from every direction and given the ground is shaking things aren't very fun right now for Kasumi. She scrambles to her feet only to have to stagger back to avoid being crushed by one of the bigger boulders that streak about the fighting area. "What? They expect us to fight like this?!" She asks as she looks up to the helicopters with a rather dour look as they seem to make no indication of stopping this fight. Why would they? Stuff like this only brings up ratings.
With light 'hmph!' the young Todoh woman tries to find where Kensou is through all of this and she starts to advance only to have a boulder almost as tall as her come her way. With a loud yell she throws forward her hands and starts getting pushed back, but eventually stops the giant thing. With a grunt she then starts pushing it forward like some giant Katamari and she picks up speed while heading towards Kensou before finally giving it one giant heave to send it rolling right towards him. "Take that!"

OK, so Katelynn's not a dude, but oh well. Nonetheless, here come the boulders that aren't exactly what Katelynn had in mind for this battle, but it appears that Kasumi is utilizing them to her advantage. While Kasumi utilizes them, Katelynn prefers to utilize traditional tactics. That is, in the form of smaller snowballs. She picks up some snow off of the ground and makes it into a ball before tossing it towards Kensou with a big grin on her face.

Of course they expect the three fighters to keep fighting in all of this. Ratings, Kasumi! Ratings! But the Psycho Soldier can't really avoid the things being tossed his way, his eyes widening as the Todoh-ryuu fighter sends a /boulder/ rolling in his direction. Luckily, it's smaller than Kasumi is, so it's not about to crush the Chinese fighter... Instead, he half-catches it, those motes of light moving oddly as it pushes him back. And then he gets pegged in the arm with a snowball. What the hell?
"Hey!! What's the big idea?!" Kensou demands, now standing /atop/ the stopped boulder. But if the girls want to play like that... Kensou crouches slightly on the boulder again, bringing his hands up in front of his face... He concentrates, focuses on a single point in front of him, gathering energy... Before he sweeps his hands out with a loud cry of: "CHOUKYUUDAN!!" and sends a crackling beachball-sized sphere of blue-tinged white Psycho Power hurtling right at Katelynn.

"Get with it! If I have to deal with almost being run over you do too!" she shouts back at Kensou. Really though, she can't help but have fun with this. It is like playing a more dangerous version of dodgeball. Granted she doesn't want to be one of the people struck by these large boulders. Or any of the small ones for that matter. She is tiny and fragile afterall. She doesn't want to show up for class looking injured as of well and then explain she was splatted by rocks.
Even as Kensou keeps his attention on Katelynn he will soon find a Kasumi quickly approaching him from his right with arms out as she grasps for him. She tries to grap onto his shirt while driving a shoulder into him to throw him off balance enough so she can heft him upwards and sling him across the snowy ground.
Sometimes, playing defense isn't very easy. No matter what you try, you end up blowing it. Just ask Katelynn, who attempts to block the chi blast that's coming right at her, but ends up failing completely and getting knocked down onto the ground, rolling a little off to the side. When she gains her breath again and stands back up, she takes a moment to focus on recovering.

Okay, so, Kensou probably shouldn't have focused on the unknown fighter so much; because now he's got Kasumi grabbing him. "What the--" he tries to duck back out of the way, but he's overcommited to his own attack, and thusly he gets snagged, shoulder checked and then thrown onto the ground, which kinda sucks! Especially as he starts to sit up and sees a boulder coming his way, bouncing across the ground, and forcing him to lay back down as it sails over him. "D... Damn," he mutters, shaking his head.
Rolling onto his front, Kensou pushes himself back up to his feet. He's not doing too well here, all things considered. So, just for the moment, he actually leaves Katelynn alone. He scrambles across the ground, dodging more boulders as he tries to close with Kasumi and, as he gets closer to her he hops into the air for a simple jump kick, trying to knock her clean off her feet. "Hua-!!"

As if she needs more trouble keeping her balance in this whole mess. At least for once Kasumi can thank her short height for giving her a low center of balance so she manages to do well at keeping her footing. Not enough that she would remain standing if Kensou managed to hit her. That is when instinct starts to kick in and as he comes down Kasumi reaches out to snag his foot by the ankle and drag him forward to meet an open palm against his chest before getting flung off and deposited on the ground once again.
"I rather not get run over. Sorry!" she says and well, she does actually sound apologetic at once and she even offers a bit of a sheepish grin. Of course she can't toy around too long as soon a boulder comes her way and she lets out a shriek as she hikes up her Hakama and starts running away from the giant stone chasing her.
Having regained a bit of stamina from her break, Katelynn decides that it's no more resting for her and instead it's time to resume what she came here to do: Fight her opponent! She gets back into her fighting stance and, within a few steps, she's back in the fight.
"All right, I'm done playing Miss NiceGal!" Katelynn says as she propels herself forward off of her frontwards foot while bringing her rear leg forwards as she flies towards him at a rather fast rate of speed!

Ohhh, hell no. Kensou gets caught by Kasumi, and then knocked away by her counterstrike, just in time to get to his feet to see... Katelynn flying at him in a jumpkick of her own. He tries to get out of the way, but he's not fast enough this time, instead getting hit quite solidly. He's... Off his game today it seems, it's really not going well at all! This calls for DRASTIC MEASURES. Getting up from the kick, and ducking out of the way of a boulder, the Psycho Soldier reaches behind his back. It's GO TIME.
"Guess I underestimated the two of ya, but I ain't gonna make that mistake anymore," Kensou declares, quite firmly. "Now I'm gonna show ya both my SUPER CERTAIN DEATH ULTIMA--Holy crap!!" Another boulder barely misses Kensou as he throws himself into a flying backflip away, landing a bit shakily. "...Uh, yeah." And then he pulls a meatbun from behind his back, and he eats it. FAST.
Kasumi is really in no position to listen since she is running for her life at the moment. Things get worse when she is running right at another boulder bigger than her. With a big hop she goes upwards into the air and the boulders clash and roll away at a slower pace as Kasumi lands breathing heavily and a bit out of sorts at the moment. She shakes her head about to regain her wits then she looks to where Kensou went off to and quickly points at him when she sees that he is taking a snack break.
"H...Hey! Did your mother ever tell you not to eat unless you have enough to share?" Not that she would eat a meatbun offered by Kensou. They have been hidden away in god knows where. Even so that isn't a very nice thing so Kasumi comes forward once again to grasp for Kensou even as he eats to just shove him forward while planting a foot behind his legs. Just....don't choke Kensou. She doesn't want to do CPR.
Gotcha! And good too! Katelynn wipes her hands with a sly smirk on her face as she watches her attack hit its mark, feeling glad that one of her attacks worked well against her opponent. But this is no time to be celebrating. As she sees Kasumi try to go for Kensou and grab him, Katelynn decides to step back a little and wait to see what happens next.

Well... Good is pretty relative; Kensou's taken worse hits, honestly. As he consumes the bun with terrible speed, he sees Kasumi coming... But what can he possibly do about it?! The delicious pork bun is swallowed and the Psycho Soldier's bruising disappears before the very eyes of his opponents and then... And then he starts to fall back when Kasumi goes to shove him, which actually ends up in his just getting tripped. Which was not his plan at all! "Oof!" he exhales, as he hits the ground.
Bingo! Kensou is once again grounded, but Kasumi soon finds her victory short lived as she finds more rocks heading her way and she starts running away from the various boulders assaulting her. Oh how she is going to give the officials here a lecture they will never forget once this is all said and done. If anything it means Kensou gets a break from having the rather uppity Todoh woman from attacking him this time around. As much as she wishes to win this fight she doesn't want to be crushed in the process.
Finally she ends up getting to a relatively safe place and she slumps forward breathing a bit heavily. Perhaps she needs to get in better shape. She hasn't had to run this much in a long time. For now she just stays there to catch her breath as she looks to Kensou. "Just you wait, I'm not done with you yet!"

Kasumi isn't finished with Kensou yet, and neither is Katelynn. While Kasumi takes a moment to get a better grasp of what to do next, Katelynn decides that it's her turn to act. She looks at Kensou with a look that says, "OK, I'm ready, are you?"
And with that, she crouches down and attempts to deliver a swift foot sweep, only to stop just before her foot makes contact, and then spins around using her extended foot to pivot on as she brings her other foot towards Kensou in an effort to trick him and then trip him.

Rolling back and over to get back onto his footing, Kensou is nevertheless surprised by the sudden appearance of Katelynn trying to trick him into thinking she's trying to trip him onto the ground. However, rather than falling for the attack, he again moves to just get the hell out of the way, cartwheeling back away from the Shotokan fighter. "Sorry, too slow!" he chides, skidding along the ground. For the moment, he seems to have found a calm patch... Calm enough, at least, for him to catch his breath. "C'mon, Kensou," he mutters to himself, slapping his own cheeks. "Get your head in the game!"

He better start thinking fast because right now Kasumi seems to be back in the game at this point. Staggering a bit from the shaking still she seems to finally have caught her breath now. Her brow furrows and she reaches up to adjust her headband and push her hair from her eyes as she zeros in on Kensou. Time to try to end this if she can help it. She wants to get the hell out of this crater and away from the boulders dammit!
Forward the young Todoh woman barrels towards Kensou, her arms outstretched again with hands grasping for his shirt. If she can get a firm grip she grunts as she hefts him up and falls backwards onto the ground. Her feet kick upwards to help with the momentum as she intends to monkeyflip the other fighter.
Nice dodging, Kensou. Can you do it again, Katelynn wonders. She watches as Kasumi goes after the young man, and that's when Katelynn gets an idea. She's seen Kensou's chi attacks, and decides that it wouldn't hurt to show off a chi attack of her own. She brings her fist back and focuses on it for a moment, causing a light blue aura of chi to envelop around it. After that, she thrusts her fist forward, sending forth a beach ball sized chi blast.

Obviously, the earthquake is at fault. It's messed up Kensou's mojo! Ruined things for him something fierce! And now he's got both girls coming at him again, which could prove to be somewhat troublesome. Katelynn's energy blast heads towards him, until he raises his hands and forces energy together quickly, before unleashing another psionic blast like the first. "Choukyuudan!!" he shouts, and his own crackling sphere of energy launches out, devouring the Shotokan fighter's hungrily, and continuing towards her.
Meanwhile, Kensou has been grabbed by Kasumi. "What the--" he wonders, as he gets tossed in such a strange manner, flying through the air with the greatest of ease... But when he tries to break his fall, he nearly breaks his skull instead, landing rather poorly. "Owww..." he mutters, as he picks himself up off the ground. This is getting embarassing!
It might not have been the best of ideas to make herself prone like this, but it paid off in the long run for Kasumi. With no rocks close by she is allowed to get to her feet and she fistpumps while looking pleased. "Another win for the Todoh family is close at hand!" she boasts as she hopes her dear father is watching on the television at home. That is if mother isn't chasing him about trying to get him to help her.
She can just hope that he is watching. Especially now as she notices a larger boulder coming her way as she raises her hands. "Kasane..." Arms are quickly thrown down and the wave of chi slams into the boulder and carries it along for the ride as if it was surfing while heading towards Kensou. "ATE!"

That wasn't exactly something that Katelynn was expecting, but you always have to be ready for anything in a fight. Fortunately, Katelynn's readiness for anything proves to be worth her while, as she manages to avoid the reflected attack with a sideways roll. Unfortunately, she's finding herself having trouble breathing again, which means that she's running out steam.
Of course, in a situation like this, the best thing to do would be to take a moment to catch your breath. Katelynn's not exactly a wimp, it's just that everyone needs a moment to rest in order to keep going.

What on earth happened here? Kensou's just... Having one of /those/ days. And he did so awesomely yesterday, beating Kyosuke... Perhaps this is karma. The Psycho Soldier tries to block Kasumi's chi wave, but the blast batters down his guard and knocks him back, and... He's pretty much done here. He's got enough steam for one last attack... Which is why he charges right at the apparently relaxing Katelynn! "Ain't time for that yet!" he informs her, thrusting out both palms as he gets closer, and when he gets in range, he unleashes a hellish, spherical blast of blue-tinged white Psycho Power, focused right on the space where the Shotokan karate girl is standing, pouring the last of his energy into it. "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-!!!"
But, succeed or fail... Kensou's done.

Karma....or is it the power ot Todoh?! No, Kensou is right. More than likely it truely is karma. The poor guy just was in the wrong fight at the wrong time. Perhaps being cold just pushed Kasumi to a new level of power. This can only lead to disasterous training that will end with Kasumi getting locked in a giant meat locker for a few hours and coming out a human ice cube.
Huffing and puffing the young woman keeps her gaze sharp to make sure a stray boulder isn't going to hit her as she catches her breath once again. This win will for sure get more students to her father's dojo! Or so she could hope. People at least watch SNF so this is the best bet since the commercial kinda went to hell.

Talk about going out with a bang! Katelynn thinks that this shouldn't be too hard, but she misjudges the attack once again, and ends up getting hit very hard. She sails across the area and lands on the edge of the crater, striking her head. Unfortunately, that blow pretty much seals her fate along with the attack. She tries to get up again, but her body just isn't willing to go for it.
"Nice fight," She barely manages to get out as the clouds in her head keep coming, indicating that she's down for the count now. Still, it was a darn good fight, even if there's only one person remaining...

That's something, at least; Kensou sinks to his knees, and then falls flat on his face, out like a light. Meanwhile, by sheer coincidence, that's about when the semi-avalanche finally draws to a close, the worst of the boulders already settled in the bottom of the crater or cracked apart by impacts with each other. But with only one person left standing, the result is clear: Kasumi and Katelynn are the winners! And Kensou, well, he needs to train harder.
