Description: (4/0707) It's a Slugfest! A Trio of fighters rock on at Yankee Stadium to see who can become king of the Bronx Zoo! (Winner: Heavy D!)
Yankee Stadium is a baseball stadium, and that means there's plenty of people to watch the match! And not only that, but refreshments in the stands and everything!
However, Akira is hanging out in the US and isn't doing much of anything at the moment, she rolls back and forth on her feet as she waits for the other warriors to arrive.
Maki's never been to Yankee Stadium, but heard a lot of things about it. Namely, how it's a big place and that the Yankees have won a lot of world series games. But that's all she knows. She never was big on baseball. But nevertheless, she's here as part of her scheduled fight.
Maki sits off to the side near the dugout, stretching and loosening up for the fight. Her mind is definitely set on this match, as one can see the determination on her face radiating off of her like the light from the sun.

D! isn't a stranger to baseball. For one, he grew up in America...so that makes him more knowledgable about the sport than at least 50 percent of the world by default. Secondly, he's been known to frequent batting cages in order to practice his bobbing and weaving. Still...D!'s not exactly sure about the premise of the fight here.
Pushing his way onto the field through the home bullpen, the boxer looks around, trying to find where his opponents are exactly, as well as frowning at the multitude of bats and baseballs left out for use by the fighters.
Akira isn't a stranger to baseball, shoma and all, but Akira glances between the Bouncer and the Ninja as they arrive. She feels a little awkward to start off a fight herself, just as they are arriving, so Akira says, "Um," nervously--so many people watchin in such an obvious manner, "I'm...um... Over here?" She throws a wave to Heavy D--he definately looks like a fighter! Akira believes in starting a fight when people are ready--these people don't seem to be, so she holds off and just tries to get their attention.
Maki's finished her warmup and is in her fighting position when Akira calls out to her. She looks towards Akira and smirks a little. "You're my opponent? You should be interesting," She says before turning toward Heavy D, and the smirk turns into a scowl as she says, "Fancy meeting you here again." Again, the memories of that fight in the college auditorium where she got beaten badly come back to her.
Of course, those memories could be useful as she plans to use them as motivation for taking out Heavy D!
Heavy D! makes his way out to the center of the field, somewhere near the pitcher's mound. He finally spots his two opponents: one he knows, the other...well, she seems familiar, but at the same time not. So it looks like another three way with one familiar foe, and one unknown one. These are getting to be quite common it seems. Once he comes to a stop near the other two, he gives a nod to both of them. "You too," he says, giving her a little smile, before turning to Akira. He gives her a look over, before nodding again, dropping into a boxer's guard quickly. Hands tightened, arms guarding his body and face, feet spread for balance...looks like he's ready to go.
Akira picks up a fallen baseball, and tosses it in her hand for a few moments as the other two warriors make their arrival apparent! She doesn't really know either of these people, so she feels a little awkward about fighting them--then again, she's usually fought strangers so far and that hasn't stopped her.
"Ah. Good luck then." Akira murmurs, watching the ball in her hands for a few moments--before nodding to herself and chucking the ball for Maki's body with a whoosh! "I'm ready too."
She wonders why she's 'interesting'.

Maki never was any good at baseball, which is why she brings her hands and tonfa up to block it. The ball does strike her hands, but it barely hurts. At least it wasn't a bean ball, since that could've really hurt big time. But if Akira wants to be the pitcher, then Maki will be the batter!
Maki literally leaps forward as she rushes at Akira, swinging her tonfa at the woman in a rather wide horizontal arc.
Heavy D! watches as Akira and Maki get into it early, with Akira using the field weaponry right off the bat (so to speak). Maki blocks the baseball and instead swings out at Akira with her own weaponry. And D!?
D! simply hangs back, watching the two fight it out for the time being. He's thinking through his gameplan at the moment, and rushing in headlong at this point would just be begging for a beating.

Akira seems more concerned with fighting Maki than Heavy D right now. But this might be because she was just tonfaed in the face. He stumbles back and shakes her head--it hurt, but it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be! She doesn't stumble back TOO Far however as she lashes out with her hands at Maki and needs to be close to do this--which is namely, pull Maki close to her body, fall to the ground, and then fling Maki up into the air with a kick to her abdomen, "Ha!" She shouts.

As soon as Akira grabs her, she pretty much lets her body go with the motion, and when the kick comes, Maki tightens her stomach, meaning that even though it hits, it's not as bad as it could have been.
When Maki gets back to her feet, she throws a punch aimed directly At Akira's gut.
Heavy D! seems to be ignored again for the most part. That...works in his favor, in that he doesn't have to deal with attacks against him. However, he's likely going to get noticed now, as he can't simply stand by and wait for the two to beat each other up. Picking a target, he drives in, going after Akira just as Maki tries to punch her in the gut. With a snap, he tries to drive a heavy handed punch of her own, hooking a hard left to her head.

Akira slides away from Maki, pushing her fist down as she tries to slam her into the gut. She doubts she can defeat Heavy D -and- Maki but maybe if she's lucky she won't be the first one down. She twists her arms back up as Heavy D strikes and takes the hit in her fists rather than her head, but it still bruises them and cuts open wounds. Akira looks a little winded...
But instead of crying about it, Akira twists again and throws herself into a flying jump kick for Maki's face. "Making this hard for me, hah?!" Akira laughs.

Talk about facing things head on, this is more like facing something face first! Maki attempts to defend herself against Akira's attack, but ends up failing, and finds herself getting a boot in the face, which sends her staggering backwards. There's a moment as she shakes the stars out of her vision, and then places her hand against her nose, which comes away wet with blood.
"Dammit!" She thinks to herself as she gets a vicious look in her eyes. She steps toward Akira and then literally drops onto the palm of one hand and then spins around with her foot outstretched, yelling, "Bushin Senpuu Kyaku!"
As hard as it might be for Akira, she seems to be handling herself rather admirably. Enough that she seems to already have Maki on the ropes. Deciding that he's going to need to up the ante here, he rushes in with his own special technique to take on Akira. Rushing in fast enough that he almost seems to disappear on the way toward Akira, he snaps out several low hooks at his opponent, aiming for both her side as well as her legs in hopes of weakining her base.

Akira is fighting like a demon, but she isn't going to last very long at this rate! Part of it is luck, ater all, but Maki's sure gonna have trouble making a comeback herself. Heavy D is probably having the easiest time of it.
She brings her arms up again to take the kick, but it seems to make a stronger purchase this time, thrusting Akira back--but she sees Heavy D coming and twists to the side just in time to avoid his maneuver. She slowly wades back away from Heavy D, breathing in through her mouth as she tries to make a good showing for as long as she can. "Did I do something to get a good reputation, ha?" Oddly enough, being unable to worry about winning has certainly made Akira more comfortable in the fight. She ducks, twists, and shifts back to underneath Maki's chin and slams her elbow up into it. "HYAA!" She cries.

A valiant effort on behalf of Akira, but unfortunately, that elbow is going to hit nothing but air, since Maki's instincts are on the money as she dodges out of the attack's path. Now would be an opportune time to strike, but odds are that's what her opponent would expect. Instead, she takes a moment to catch her breath.

Heavy D! has his hooks blocked...but that doesn't mean he's about to abandon his attack. Especially as Maki hangs back to catch her breath. Instead, D! turns around, keeping his focus on Akira, if only since she's an unknown factor in the dynamic. Winging after her again, he snaps off a straight right hand toward her side, hoping to send her stumbling, even if he didn't put all his power behind the shot.

Actually, Akira is pretty sure she isn't being beat on by Heavy D and Maki at once because she's an 'unknown element' but rather because she's losing, and the moment they take her down, Heavy D has a significant advantage. Unfortunately, Akira doesn't turn her sights on Heavy D still, he's unmolested. He can keep punching her all about as much as she'd like--she can't really retaliate.
Or can she? Akira takes a snap punch in her chest and bows her head forward, coughing a little--before she grabs for Heavy D's arm and tries to CHUCK him right into Maki.
Either way, she continues her assault by dashing for Maki (and hopefully Heavy D too!) and throw a rapid series of kicks, striking at each in turn, as she does her best to keep going!

That is a real blast (excuse the pun) and Maki knows there's no way of getting out of the way in time for something like that. So she does the next best thing, which is prepare to take each strike as it comes. It still hurts, but at least she's not down on the ground bleeding and dazed. But she is in pretty rough shape.
This is why her next choice of attacks is her Izuna Otoshi, where she jumps into the air and attempts to grab Akira's shoulders. If this works, Akira's going to find herself flying through the air and towards the ground at a rather fast rate of speed!

Heavy D! didn't expect to be pulled in after a successful punch. So when Akira drags her off and tosses her in the way of Maki, as well as the sudden barrage of attacks she whips out, he can't really do much but absorb them the best he can as he extracts himself out of Maki's path. He even goes so far as to try and weather the storm, pushing forward. And when Maki leaps over to try and grab Akira, D!'s there to try and add to the pain, dropping down to punch into the ground and send up an eruption of Chi to help Akira on her way.

She coughs up some blood, and then twists away from Heavy D's strike, while still on the ground. She can't be fancy--not when she feels this -shitty-. She hops back up to her feet, letting out another breath. Oh man, this hurts so much. But she's gotta keep moving. She shifts into a crouch again and throws herself in another jump kick for Maki's body. "Naagghhh." She gasps out as she strikes.

Heavy D! finds his attack ineffective again...but all things considered, he really is on the better end of things. In any case, he holds back again, deciding to take the high road out and let the two beat each other senseless again, while he figures out a contingency, depending on who's to fall first.

Guess Akira is going down first again--but it isn't really her fault this time. As Akira is struck by the repeated strikes, she lashes out one last time with her elbow before crashing to the ground in a heap.

Oof! Maki's attempt to dodge out of the way just wasn't good enough. She finds herself getting nailed in the face, this time below the nose. She staggers again, and feels to make sure all of her teeth are still intact (Which they thankfully are, since Maki's too old to be getting presents from the tooth fairy!) But then she realizes that even though one opponent is down, she still has another to deal with.
Hence the reason Maki takes a moment to catch her breath again.

Things look good for D!, considering that he's pretty fresh, compared to Maki and Akira, who mostly seemed to fight between themselves. In any case, D! continues to eschew the weaponry around the field, mostly preferring to stay true to his roots as a boxer. As Maki hangs back to take a breather, the boxer rushes forward, hoping to keep her from getting too much of a breather. Reaching out, he tries to grab her shoulder and hold her in place, while his other fist snaps out to repeatedly hammer her in the stomach. No mercy today, it seems.

Heavy D! can hold her all he wants, but that doesn't stop Maki from blocking the attacks. But it does hurt a bit, which is why Maki shakes the pain from her hands as she recovers from the attack. Nonetheless, she's not ready to go down yet. She rushes towards the boxer suddenly while swinging her tonfa with a bit of extra 'oomph' in it.

Heavy D! finds himself unable to penetrate Maki's guard and get any kind of direct hit. Still...he holds the advantage, right? However, when he tries to counter attack as she reacts with a tonfa strike, D! finds himself on the losing end, too slow to react with his own punch and instead taking the shot right ot the face. "MNghh..." Stumbling back, he winces, feeling the effect of that hit. Looks like he's still going to have to work on this one.
Good attempt, but not good enough for Maki. The counter pretty much backfires on Heavy D, and Maki lands a successful hit. Not one to let something like this go to waste, she attempts to grab him and throw him into the ground.

Heavy D! finds himself grabbed as he backs off...but before Maki can really toss him too far, his fists lash out, mostly on instinct, a ridiculous barrage of blows snapped out toward her, a series of short straights, hooking body blows, and then a finishing lunging cross shot direct to her chest meant to blow her back across the field.
Well, do unto others, they say, and that's what happens when Maki's on the receiving end of a counter. She finds herself flying backwards through the air, obviously headed for the ground where she'll find herself taking a nice long nap. But Heavy D! had best watch himself, since she manages to get off a quick swing of her tonfa before she goes down for the count.

Heavy D! takes the shot on his forearms, the attack doing little relative damage. However, what's more concerning is that Maki doesn't seem to have fallen down. Instead, she seems more determined to keep up the fight. Which is...not good for D!, as he's not paced himself well enough to keep up with a more prolonged fight. As such, he's forced to step back, furrowed brow and all, and take a much needed breather.

Surprise, surprise! Maki's not out of the fight yet. Instead, she's back on her feet and still ready to fight some more, even if her body doesn't look like it's ready for it. But with Heavy D's guard lowered, he'd best watch out, because Maki is heading for him with a special flying kick.

D! isn't able to get his guard up in time to stop Maki's flying kick, unfortunately. But he does manages to pull back enough to blunt the blow JUST a tad. As little good as it does, anyways, considering he was still caught flat footed. Stumbling back, D! grits his teeth, pushing forward again after a wince to snap a hooking blow toward Maki's jaw.

Good hook, champ, but unfortunately, you have to know when to stick and move and when to strike. Maki knows that very well, and that's why she moves quickly to avoid being hit by that fierce looking punch. But she's starting to show signs of running out of steam, and she now has to put herself in the same situation her opponent was in previously. She makes herself more vulnerable in order to catch her breath.

Ah...looks like D!'s on the other side now, with his opponent's guard dropped. This is a good opportunity to strike again. And D!'s not about to look over this opportunity. As Maki falls back, he snaps forward, reeling his right arm back and pushing forward. With a snap, he drives his right hand down, trying to crash right into Maki with a nasty overhand shot directed at her shoulder.

Heavy D! waits, just to make sure that Maki's not about to get up again. Once it's obvious that Maki's down and out (likely with a dislocated shoulder too), the boxer smiles, raising his hand in victory, to the delight of the spectators nearby. Looks like D! got this one too...then again, the two ladies didn't help their cause by ignoring him for most of the match. In any case, he approaches Maki, extending a hand toward her good arm. "Help up?"
