SNF 2007.04 - Style! Balrog/Kain vs Ryo/Ryu

Description: Premise: Clash of Styles! Location: Decomissioned Battleship, English Channel! (Winners: Kain and Balrog)

Balrog stands upon a cannon, the wind whipping past him and causing his purple-gold pants to billow, as well as carrying his slowly waving blond ponytail on the current. He looms over the battlefield, peering down below as he waits for his challengers to emerge. He looks to the cameras, waving to them and blowing a kiss, even though some of the effect is lost because he wears a mask.

So, the fighters have the run of an entire battleship this match, do they? Although given some of the people involved, it wouldn't be too surprising if they wind up managing to sink it. An outcome that Kain is prepared for. And which he might even bring about on purpose, if he believes it will help him to win.
For now, though, Heinlein stands on the ship's main deck, in as open a spot as he can find. There are plenty of ways that the interior of the ship or various objects, such as the cannon on which Balrog perches, can be useful, but Kain would prefer to start the fight out here. If he makes his opponents follow him into a possible trap, he'd prefer it to be in the heat of the moment, when they're less likely to take their time.
The cameras are only briefly noted as Kain observes the layout of the ship. They're fairly irrelevant, from a tactical standpoint. Even as makeshift weapons they wouldn't be particularly helpful against fighters of this level. Kain does spare a long glance for his 'partner' in this fight... It's unlikely that the two of them will be doing much cooperating, although hopefully the Spaniard at least won't get in his way. If it comes down to it, Kain intends to use Balrog as bait.

COMBATSYS: Kain has joined the fight here on the left meter side.

Ryu arrives at the intended 'arena' with typical punctuality and lack of extravagance. Ever the humble zen buddhist, he'll find the cold steel of the battleship beneath his feet far less preferable to the familiar earth. Man-made structures were odd like that. They were unnatural, so they had no inherent chi or spiritual force within them as one might feel within a forest or upon a mountain. It was a little off-putting, but it certainly wasn't the first time, all it required was a little adjustment. There was lack of ambient chi, so he'd compensate by relying more on what was within himself then what surrounded him.
He'll spy Balrog up on high and make no effort to hide a frown. He knew well the sadistic nature hidden beneath that fair-seeming face which in turn lay behind an impassionate mask. He'd seen what he'd done to that girl a week previous after all, and while she survived it was not for lack of trying on the spaniard's behalf. He'll do well to be wary of the man, knowing he'll exploit any opening to full deadly advantage.
Kain Heinlein is the recipient of a more ambivalent assessment..the wanderer has an idea of the power of this one and it's great indeed. This was not to mention syndicate leader's extraordinarily tactical mind; Heinlein was the sort to think several moves ahead of everyone else, and it wouldn't surprise the vagabond if he'd already planned the variable of this entire fight out from start to finish.
All in all, the makings for quite a fight were present here if nothing else, and Ryu will approach it with the clear frame of mind and discipline control he always does. He'll tighten his headband and set himself opposite Kain with an occasional eye up towards Balrog. Now it was just a matter of his partner in this fight..

COMBATSYS: Ryu has joined the fight here on the right meter side.

Ryo -- take good note of the 'o' in there, ladies and gentlemen -- Sakazaki arrives mere seconds later after his improvised teammate, walking upon the deck of the ruined battleship, adjusting his gi and belt. It's been a while that he has entered into a 'serious' fight like this one. A few months, maybe?

The Kyokugen-style warrior parks himself a few metres away from Ryu, giving the fellow warrior a long stare. He know this man, if only by reputation. He's a formidable fighter, he know that much and Ryo is more than glad to have him at his side rather than on the other.

Sakazaki turned his gaze around, gazing upward. That masked man is...eerie. He know nothing good will come out of him -- especialy since he wears /claws/. Plus, after all, masks are only worn by the psycho and the senile.

Finnaly, he glance at Kain. This one...he knows nothing of. But if he's facing this Ryu and himself...he must be no push overs.

Ryo tightens his gloves, readjust his belt a little and slowly sliides a foot backward. No battle stance yet. He's just getting braced.

COMBATSYS: Ryo has joined the fight here on the right meter side.

Balrog gazes over his two opponents. "Hrmph. Peons." He looks down to Kain from his perch, calling out, "You take the ugly one!" Which one Balrog means, he doesn't specify, but it soon becomes clear, as he leaps down off the top of the cannon, bounding through the air towards Ryo. He hits the ground with a handspring and rolls to a crouch before him, jabbing his claw in a fluid motion at Ryo's thigh. Right into the muscle. Let's start this fight off by crippling his opponent. Sounds fun!

Kain doesn't care much for taking Balrog's orders... But luckily he already had the same idea in mind. Ryo is probably a skilled fighter in his own right to be involved in this, but Ryu is, well, /Ryu/.
Once Balrog springs into action, Kain is quick to follow. He starts sprinting across the deck toward Ryu, quickly closing the distance between them. There should be some interesting opportunities over the course of this fight thanks to the nature of the battlefield, but it has to start somehow. And preferably with Ryu taking a hit.
Once he gets within a few feet of the nomad, Kain leaps off the ground, twisting to lead with his right foot in a jump kick toward Ryu's chest. Purple fire engulfs his leg, the wave of flame obscuring Heinlein as he attempts to drive home an explosive kick.

COMBATSYS: Kain successfully hits Ryu with Schwarzer Stob.

Ryu doesn't know his partner in this fight personally, but Ryo's reputation does precede him somewhat. Heir to the Kyokugen style of karate dojo, he believed? And quite a fighter in his own right of course, it seemed both sides were rather well-matched for the other.
No time to exchange pleasantries of course (Not that Ryu was ever one for such in the first place) as Balrog takes the initiatives no sooner than Ryo showing his face. The ninja goes for Ryu's partner, so he'll expect an attack from Heinlein and turns his attention towards the blonde fighter..just in time find that flaming kick upon his person. And from a quite a distance indeed; The man's speed was deceptive.
Nonetheless, Ryu's instincts suggest an attempt to evade rather than bear any force of the attack, but either they or his own reactions are off just enough for it to wind up mattering. Kain's hit strikes a mere second sooner than he thought, purple flames burning his gi while the force of kick attempts to knock him back.
He'll not give in that easily though. First strike goes to Kain, but the last was what mattered. His feet set against the floor of the ship somehow and he'll hold fast, raising a powerful kick towards Kain's clavicle in retaliation. One good hit deserved another, after all!

So the fight begins right away without any pleasantries. Good, there's /no/ time to waste when a good fight is in the horizon. Ryo sneers faintly as he watches that clawed, masked man fly down to his level. He then quickly switch into his battle position: two arms slightly arced and thrust foward, one above, one below, knees flexing faintly. He is then right in the position to lash out an hand to Balrog's incoming claw, smacking away the weapons with a forarm forcefully.

He then waste no time in returning the favour. "HAH!" Ryo cries out as he throws himself, this close, into a fly kick homed into Balrog's chest, his feet glowing with a bright light.

COMBATSYS: Balrog dodges Ryo's Hien Shippu Kyaku EX.

Balrog turns to the side and watches Ryo fly past, in a rather passive, nonchalant movement. He smirks beneath his mask. "You'll have to do better than that!" he sing-songs, as he leaps after Ryo. His body spreads out gracefully in the air, as if he were a leaping panther or a striking cobra. As he passes Ryo, he slashes at him with his claw, before rolling to the ground and stopping in a crouch.

COMBATSYS: Kain blocks Ryu's Joudan Sokutou Geri.

Kain twists to face the incoming blow, raising a forearm to take the impact from Ryu's kick. His arm shudders under the blow, but his guard doesn't fail. A quick hop back opens a little bit of room between the two of them while Kain takes a moment to assess the situation. In straight melee combat, Ryu has the edge over Kain, and he's not too arrogant to keep from admitting that.
Kain extends his left hand out toward Ryu, while pulling his right fist up and back. And then he suddenly lunges forward, but not at Ryu. He swings his right fist in a downward arc, attempting to blast a hole right through the ship's deck which he can use to drop down to a lower level. The wave of flame that follows his fist down should help to keep Ryu from obstructing that plan. And might do a bit more if the nomad stands too close.

COMBATSYS: Ryu blocks Kain's Schwarz Cutter.

Ryu will feel a bit of give in Kain's in block, but not nearly enough to make his strike what he'd call a success. He had an idea of Kain's strengths and weaknesses and comparison with his own and the vagabond knew full well he'd maintain an advantage if he kept the fight in close quarters, and that his opponent would try to put up some respectful distance in turn.
So, he sees the logic in what the syndicate leader is doing when he makes his next attack, which the anastatsuken practitioner can tell is not quite aimed at him. That doesn't mean Ryu can't see the wisdom in backing up of course and he'll do just that while keeping his arms crossed in front of him, fending off the backlash of the wave's impact against the desk. With a few light burns he's far better off than the ship, which now sports a well-sized hole with the inflictor of this grievous harm nowhere to be found.
Okay, sure, he'll play this game. The world warrior gives chase, jumping down to the lower level along with his opponent, knowing full well the potential for a trap or ambush of some kind is high. He clears his mind as he falls, listening to what sounds may rebound off the metal surface of the ship's inner workings, the displacement of air flows, all of it. He'll be prepared as best he can.

COMBATSYS: Ryu focuses on his next action.

Hm! The way this 'Balrog' dodged his Hien Hippu Kyaku makes Ryo realise the need to DEFINETIVELY not understimate his foe. He's agile, that's for certain. He'll have to make his blow calculated and each single one of them /count/!

Ryo backflipped away from the claw swip, landing a metre away and motioning the Spainard over. "Speak for yourself, freak! Why don't you try to come and get me if you're /that/ confident?" Sakazaki snaps back, smirking as he reassess the situation. He can win this...all it needs is a little focus!

Balrog rises from his crouch, a foot shifting as he moves to face Ryo. He adopts a low posture, as he jukes to the left, then the right. He's getting ready to pounce. "Freak? You're the one with the /horrid/ taste in clothing...I mean, what is that, orange and brown? With a black belt? Christ!" he hisses venomously, speaking as if he were an animal. He suddenly rolls forward again, this time bounding into the air as he reaches Ryo's position. He inverts above him and grabs his neck, attempting to land behind him and catch him in a headlock, jerking his head back and forth inside the lock.

Down below decks, there's a sudden small explosion as one of the light fixtures erupts in a shower of glass. Most of it is contained by the safety wire surrounding the light, resulting in little more than some glass raining down to the floor... but it may serve to distract Ryu. That's Kain's intention, anyway. There are signigicant advantages to being able to manifest chi at a distance.
A split second after the explosion goes off, Kain leaps at Ryu from behind. Blue chi wreathes his hand as he lashes out at the back of the nomad's neck, intending to strike him with an open-handed chop.

COMBATSYS: Ryu interrupts Jab Punch from Kain with Shoryuken.

The explosion and resulting flare of chi draws Ryu's attention almost by pure instinct as soon as his feet hit the floor, but it only takes a second longer for him to realize his folly and turn back the other way. Of course, with Kain a second could make all the difference and his blonde opponent has taken full advantage of that fact.
Too fast to dodge, even to block, but the wandering one can still make it a near simultaneous strike, chi flaring to life in his fist and legs as he'll settle into a light crouch, taking Kain's glancing blow in the process. He acts almost immediately after, rising up with all the fury of the mythical beast the bears his name, his fist landing right underneath Heinlein's chin, "Shoooooryuken!"

COMBATSYS: Ryo interrupts Medium Throw from Balrog with Kuuchuu Ko'ou Ken.

"At least I don't prance around like a little ten years old girl!" Ryo Sakazaki sasses right back. "And at least I wear a /shirt/ you--" Maybe talking so much was not really a sound idea. Balrog does indeed get a grip out of Ryo's neck and makes him fall...but that's as far he manages to go before the Kyokugen Heir's reflexes kick in.

"KUUCHUU..." His right hand burst suddenly with a bright blue energy as he slide around in the grip, mid-fall and thrusts out a fireball that is normaly fired in mid-air, but point blank will have to do. Bonus point for it being in the general vincinity of his opponment's face. "KO'OU KEN!"

Balrog gets beaned by the attack, his head snapping to the side. Balrog gets blown away and lands nearby, in a three point pose. His right hand touches his mask, feeling a crack. "My face...You hit...MY FACE!" He leaps forward, aiming to land on Ryo's left flank. He makes a feinting kick, before rolling behind him and grabbing at his waist. If he gets a hold, he leaps into the air, and aims to toss Mr. Sakazaki into one of those big cannons he was standing on.

Well, that wasn't at all the way Kain intended for that to go. His hand bounces fairly harmlessly off of thick muscle instead of the vulnerable point he was aiming for, and he finds Ryu's fist crashing into his jaw. Kain flies up and back, hitting the wall with enough force to dent the steel bulkhead.
As he drops to the floor, Kain whips a hand in Ryu's direction and sends a blast of flame racing toward the nomad's face. Since his ploy didn't work, it would be a bad idea to stay in such close quarters. And of course, Kain had enough foresight to look up the blueprints for the ship before the match. While Ryu deals with the fire, Kain begins racing off in the direction of the engine room. Too bad the ship is decomissioned... Some explosives would be helpful.

COMBATSYS: Ryu blocks Kain's Schwarze Flame.

Strategically that was Ryu's first big break in the fight, pun completely unintended if Kain -did- wind up breaking anything. Can't let that get to your head of course, especially when the fight's not over yet. As the world warrior would expect his opponent barely needs any time to recover before firing another move off. He's quick to react now though, his arms taking the brunt of the biting flames. The burns are a little worse this time, considering he'd gotten the same treatment only moments before, but still plenty within tolerance.
If nothing else, he had to hand the opportunistic Heinlein this: He was definitely giving Ryu something different. He was completely unused to having to give chase during a fight or having a constantly changing environment to contend with, it just wasn't his style. So he won't follow quite yet, taking a moment to pause, breathe and collect himself. A fight was still a fight regardless of the form it took, and know matter how different it may seem there remained some essentials that could not be altered. Mainly the hitting part, but there were others! With that fresh in mind, he'll make for the engine room and whatever lies in wait.

Gathering himself back up from falling from that attempted throw, Sakazaki rises to his feets, hopping in his ready battle stance, an arm up, an arm down. "And I'll hit it plenty more! Just you wait and see!" Ryo snaps back. He leaps high and away from the Spainard's grasp and lands three metres away, facing Balrog again. "But for that, you'll have to show me just what you are good for!"

It's at about that time an aura of golden energies wells up around the Kyokugen fighter, surrounding the form of the warrior and tinging his eyes with the very same coloured energy. Balrog is going to charge at him, probably, so he have to be READY.

COMBATSYS: Ryo gathers his will.

Balrog turns to face Ryo as he leaps away, smirking beneath his cracked mask. "Really, now? Well then...Let us see what I can do for you..." He erupts in laughter, the fit wracking his body, as his arms bend upwards, at the sky, as he leans back. He abruptly breaks out of it, having intended it as a feint, and flips forward, rapidly closing the distance with his acrobatics and aiming to slam right into Ryo Sakazaki with his feet, aiming for his foe's shoulders.

The engine room is a two level affair, with the hallway Kain and Ryu came down opening up onto a balcony on the upper level. None of it's actually running at the moment, of course. It'd be far too dangerous from an enviromental standpoint to have the ship fueld up when there's a good chance of major structural damage, and it's not like there's anything for the ship to do after this match other than serve as a floating tourist attraction.
Kain is nowhere to be seen when Ryu enters the room, but he doesn't remain hidden for long. There really isn't all that much time for Ryu to actually look around, because a moment after he enters Kain releases his grasp on some pipes that were holding him above the doorway. He lashes out with a flame shrouded foot at the back of Ryu's head, attempting to kick the nomad right over the edge of the catwalk.

It's actually fortunate for Ryu that Kain invokes his chi in the form of those flames even with his regular attacks. For someone like him it's a rather convenient early warning in the case of surprise attacks, not to mention the heat it puts off.
He'll duck and roll to the side, close enough the flames singe the hair on top of his head, but otherwise it's a complete miss. Coming almost as soon he evades, the wander will reach out and try to grab Kain right by the lapels of that thousand dollar Armani suit or whatever it is, intending to yank and fall backwards, allowing gravity to do most of the work save for guiding nudge of his leg to send the syndicate leader over the catwalk instead.

The the aura flare dissipates quickly when Balrog runs in for the charge after his maniacal laugh. He figured that, while crazy, Balrog liked to use displays of it to unsettle his foes.

It wont work on Ryo. As the last wisps of the golden chi energy evaporate away, he braces himself to receive the Spainard's assauts. A forarm is lifed to block the feet attack, mitigating most of the damage. At the same time, blue energies bursts into the fighter's arm as he swiftly reels it back and CRASH it against Balrog, just like before, creating a quick blast of chi. "KO'OU KEN!"

"You're a spry one..." he says, smirking beneath his mask. He begins to slowly circle Ryo, like a wolf on the hunt. A low, menacing growl emerges from his throat as his muscles twitch, faking Ryo out with a sudden jerk, before rolling to the side. He suddenly springs from the crouch he ends in, aiming to slice at Ryo as he flies past. Specifically, the fighter's belt. PANTS'D!

Kain silently curses as Ryu evades his kick. He's able to land smoothly on the catwalk, but it's not the best position for him to be in. This notion is reinforced when Ryu snares him, flips him up, and sends him tumbling over the guard rail. This would be problematic if it weren't for the fact that Kain was expecting something of this sort.
He manages to snag the edge of the catwalk with his fingers as he falls, and then he allows gravity to do /his/ work. Because with the momentum he's built up his body doesn't stop once he's perpendicular to the ground. And exerting some extra force with his arms he even picks up speed as he begins swinging up underneath the catwalk. Purple flame starts to trail behind his legs before completes the swing, kicking right up and /through/ the catwalk, launching himself back up through the hole that he makes. ...Right where Ryu is standing.

Remember at the beginning of the fight, where Ryu mentioned Kain always thinks several steps ahead of whatever move you're going to make? Yeah, it wasn't a lie. He sees what Kain is doing as soon as he goes over the edge but..well, the problem is there's not much that can be done about it, save try to jump.
Ryu would have expected the SOLID STEEL CATWALK to possibly take some of the edge of that but..well lets just that if it did you don't even want to know what the full force would've felt like. Up, up, up the world warrior goes, turning end over end for a moment before righting himself in time to make rather unceremonious, if solid landing on the lower floor of the engine room. Touche, Heinlein.
He won't react immediately. Instead the vagabond will look for Kain's next move while brushing himself off, tending to a bruise or two and above all else keeping his mind 'in the game', so to speak.

Ryo makes the mistake of remaining where he was, turning around and not losing the fruity masked claw fighter. His brows are furrowed in concentration, twitching occasionaly when his foe does a feint. Damn that dodgy little creep!

But evantualy, Balrog comes to the charge. Sakazaki reacts, lifting an hand to focus his chi and throwing another fireball, intoing: "KO'OU..."

The 'Ken' never comes. Why? Because he just got stabbed in the BELT. Fortunately, thoses things are pretty damn sturdy, even if it got sliced pretty good. Still, the wound makes him stumble a bit, grunting.

The world is spared from what might have been an horrible sight.

Balrog laughs as he stops the attack before it even starts. He rolls to his feet, and suddenly unleashes a deadly roundhouse, aimed at the side of Ryo's head. He's wearing silk loafers, but still, that heel is /hard/. "You cannot hope to defeat me! I think I shall shoot you out of the deck guns when this fight is over, eh? Or maybe buy you a new wardrobe! Just for kicks, of course! Ahahahah!"

So far, this has really been two seperate fights, with Ryu and Kain unable to really see what's going on with Ryo and Balrog, and vice versa. Kain, however, is about to do something that will most likely be noticed by those up on deck. And make the fight down here a whole lot more dangerous. Staring down at Ryu from the catwalk, Kain draws his hands back and to his side in a motion similar to that of Ryu's own Hadouken, gold light flaring as he gathers his power.
When Kain thrusts his hands forward, a massive sphere of raw golden energy erupts in front of him, blasting through the guard rail and part of the floor of the catwalk just by being there. A moment later it launches down toward Ryu in a jolting, hard to read pattern... and once it hits something, it explodes. Regardless of whether or not Ryu is what gets hit, the entire ship shakes from the impact. A large chunk of the engine is scrap... And water begins to flood in at a fairly rapid pace. Of course, it takes a while for a ship of this size to actually sink...

Ryu might have wondered just how well Ryo is faring up aboce against Balrog, but Kain's kept him so occupied that he hasn't really had the time to think about anything but what the man is going next! And what he does next is...well, Ryu didn't exactly expect the ship was going to be floating free by the end of the fight anyways. You just got used to that kind of thing after a certain number of years.
The energy is strong..and what's more it moves erratically, unpredictably. It's perhaps only owed to luck that the herald of hadou manages to steer himself away from the impact point, affected only minorly by some flung shrapnel from the explosion. The real results become quite apparent when water begins flood in though and the ship's fate is sealed. Looks like it was time to take their fight back topside.
Really though, Kain has the higher ground, so he might as well go first. Preferably through the walls, and clear out into the ocean! The world warrior sees to give his opponent helping hand, putting his hands to the side in form for the Hadouken Kain had just mimicked somewhat for his own attack. Except, he's accumulating for more chi than would be sufficient for a normal hadouken, "SHINKUU..." The brightly blue energy swirls about in his hands, expanding, coalescing to greater dimension until he unleashes in full force to where Kain stands, in a straight line no less, "HADOUUUUUUKEN!"
Honestly, as if the ship didn't have enough holes.

Ryo Sakazaki leans backward, the kicking attack from the Spainard barely missing him. Following his momentum, the fighter let himself fall, rolls backward and springs to his feet, back into fighting position. He's wondering how that Ryu is doing down there...and by the noise of it, it must not be pretty.

A thought, however, crosses his mind. What if he's getting beaten up? What if Ryo Sakazaki was the ONLY ONE left standing of this two-man team? His eyebrows raised quickly. That would be bad! He have to finish this guy before it can even happen! A burst of adrenaline flows through his body. He /WILL/ win this!

"Sorry pal," The Kyokugen fighter says as he straightens, spreading his arms to his side as chi begins to well up around the fighter's body, "I'll call that a...REEEE-JEEEECTED!"

Spiraling blue energies gathers into his wide opened hands as he intones out. "HAOH..." The little balls grows as he swings both arms, colliding both flows of chi into forming a gigantic onslaught of pure spiritual energy headed at Vega. "SHO KO KEN!"

Hopefully he wont hit a moat.

He slowly gets up, rocking back and forth a bit unsteadily, before he gets his fire back and shakes his head about, clearing the stars. "You...Will die." He sprints forward, his form blurring, and he skids to a halt right before Ryo, his claw punching out at Ryo's chest, as it seeks a spot between his ribs. If this is successful, he flings him into the air, and extends his claw straight up. Right where Ryo is falling.

So, is everybody up on the deck having fun? Kain is about to join you. A blue aura surrounds Heinlein as he sees the beam of energy racing toward him from Ryu, and he also crosses his arms in front of himself. For a lot of people this would probably be rather futile, but Kain is not like most people when it comes to dealing with chi. Heinlein is blasted right up and through several decks before bursting back out into the open air. He's lifted a good twenty feet above the deck before the Shinkuu Hadouken finally peters out.
Unfortunately... This means that going after Ryu isn't really an option. At least not for a few moments, until gravity finishes taking effect. On the other hand, Kain's trajectory happens to take him right down towards the falling Ryo. Isn't /that/ convenient? He twists his body, swinging down with all the force he can muster, given his lack of traction, in attempt to drive a glowing blue fist right into Ryo's back. As to what this might do in tandem with Balrog's attack coming from the other direction... That remains to be seen.

The world warrior certainly doesn't remain idle after he's fired. In fact, far from being drained, he seems even -more- charged up, following in the shinkuu hadouken's wake, leaving the ruined interior of the ship behind to open skies.
Not long after Kain makes his debut up top will Ryu come as well, practically shooting out of the convenient shortcut he made, with the continued fight in clear view. Seems Kain had elected to prey upon his partner for this fight instead! But as long his attention's turned that way, might as well remind him that he's still here.
His hands will draw back again then as he falls, surging with further energy that he'll fire in mid-air. Kain looked like he hadn't had enough, anyways, "HADOOOUUKEN!"

Ryo had good luck so far -- luck that apparently ran out. Somewhat exhausted from his last attack, Balrog manages to dig in his claws into the Kyokugen Fighter's chest. "Grrrk!" He wrings out, his eyes bursting wide as he flung into the air.

Maybe I lied. Luck DOES favour Ryo in some vague ways. While in mid-air, his trajectory was straight out of Kain's surprise attack. How did HE get there!? Bah, no matter. This is a team match, after all! Twisting in mid-air, Ryo attempts to grab the other fighter by the arm that tried to strike him. "Where did /YOU/ come from!?" He cries out, swinging Kain forcefully downward at the beclawed Spainard.

Hopefully STRAIGHT in the outstretched claws.

Kain doesn't need to be reminded of Ryu's presence. He was just waiting for the nomad to get back out in the open. Ryo makes it a little bit more difficult to deal with the incoming projectile at first, though. Kain's arm is yanked on, drastically reducing his defensive options. But he still has his feet. Blue energy swirls around Kain's right foot as he lashes out and /kicks/ the incoming Hadouken, sending it sailing off harmlessly into the sky.
Unfortunately, that distracts Kain for long enough that Ryo manages to send him sailing toward Balrog. Since he avoids getting impaled, however, it's not an especially painful impact, and Kain rolls off before Balrog even really gets much of a chance to push at him. Now the fight's back on the ground, and it's time to bring it back to Ryu. Charging toward the Ansatsuken fighter, Kain once more launches into a flaming jumpkick. This time, though, it's not quite so simple. As he draws in on Ryu Kain suddenly twists around, lashing out with his foot in an attempt to sweep a kick into the side of Ryu's face.

Hell, even Ryo's creative thinking isn't enough to keep the syndicate leader down for long and no sooner has Ryu touched the ground than does he find another one of those flaming kicks headed towards. This one's broadcasted fairly widely though, and Ryu easily sidesteps from where he thought the attack would land. It's strangely sloppy for Kain, is what he's thinking, until he makes that twist.
Oh.
Kain's foot will find a lovely solid hit up the side of Ryu's face, who'll summarily be knocked across the deck, regaining himself just as he flies overheard of Balrog and Ryo, with whom the former appears to be quite perturbed. Well, might as well exploit an opportunity! "Balrog.." The world warrior speaks for the first time tonight, if you don't count him shouting his attacks.

This is sure one heck of an intense air battle, ladies and gentlemens!

Ryo didn't really think his stunt would have worked this well, but he's not going to complain about that. It worked, that's what matters! Using a brief burst of chi to make a second jump in-midair, the Kyokugen Heir wedge himself out of Balrog's rocketing to focus. His eyes then set on Kain, his eyes narrowing, eyebrows furrowing. This is going to be it, he can just /feel/ it.

"DAAAH! HIEN SHIPPU KYAKU!" He screams out as he DIVES down against the Syndicate Leader, his feet glowing with a bright golden energy. Nothing is too special about this -- but a strength drives Ryo's attack this time. He's still alive, bleeding internaly and here he is, flying around and kick people in the heads.

Kain reaches up with one hand, that blue glow now surrounding his entire arm. Sakazaki's foot slams into Kain's waiting hand... and stops. There's a flash of blue light under Kain's feet and cracks spread through the surface of the deck, but Kain's footing holds and his arm doesn't even budge.
This is probably of some concern to Ryo. What he should be /more/ concerned about, however, is that the blue energy surround Kain's arm is rapidly changing to purple flame. "Eh!?" Ryo lets out, quite uneloquently when Kain just block his attack as if it was nearly nothing. Oh, sure, the deck of the ship is ruined, but he /blocked it completly/. No effect whatsoever!

Then, the PURPLE FLAMES OF PAIN cometh. Sakazaki lets out a cry of pain as he get blasted by the pillar of dark fire. Once everything clears, a mightily charred Kyokugen fighter stands, parts of his gi burnt off and a part of his hair on fire. Just a little flame really. Half-battered, on his last threads, Ryo looks at that little flame. An annoyed glare, in fact.

He quietly extinguish it with two fingers

Then;

"HAOH SHO KO KEN!" He cries out of the blue, spreading out both of his arms and thrusting them against Kain, unleashing a gigantic wave of blue chi at the Syndicate Leader.

Balrog feels his chest slammed by Ryu's foot, something cracking in his chest. He feels that little wet trickle inside him, the telltale sign of internal bleeding, as he exhales in a wheeze, curling upwards briefly. It's nowhere near enough to stop Kain for long, though, and he's quickly enough off and running toward Ryo. He can sense that both of his opponents are getting worn down... Which is good, since Balrog is no longer in any condition to soak up hits. A few well placed attacks should be enough to end this fight. Ryo does go crashing into the ground, but perhaps not quite as smoothly as he might have intended. Kain casually grabs the Kyokugen fighter by the wrist as the uppercut comes lashing out at him, and then it's a simple matter of redirection of momentum to send Ryo tumbling past him. He doesn't even bother to put in enough force to do further damage; he can already tell that Ryo doesn't have any fight left in him.
Ryu, on the other hand... It's hard /not/ to notice that Ryu's launching an attack in Kain's direction. Heinlein spins around, leg already swinging up to meet Ryu as he comes in. Just then, the water filling up the hull finally takes its toll. The ship lurches violently, throwing Kain off balance. Ryu, on the other hand, is airborne and thus immune to such things. Kain takes several rapid kicks across the face, then falls back and rolls down the deck. The angle isn't /too/ steep yet, but enough to be a problem. Especially when the back of Kain's head smacks against a gun placement. Hard enough that there's blood left behind when he stands back up.

A twist of fate favors Ryu there as the ship manages to lurch at the most inopportune time for Kain, although it's a small victory. With Ryo out of comission and himself very much feeling the toll of the fight, Ryu will have to manage what energy he has left strategically.
The hit at least has Kain off of him for a few valuable seconds, which is all Ryu needs to gain a little conentration. It's tough to keep his footing on the ships as it tilts, hopefully it wasn't going to capsize, but he manages somehow, a distinctive aura building around him as the vagabond takes what inner chi he has left and re-aligns it, focuses it where most needed for the rest of this fight. If Sakazaki left the fight in his hands...well, he's not sure how much more he can do, but they're about to find out.

Once more Kain draws his hands back and to the side, but this time the light that flares up is blue. And when he thrusts his hands toward Ryu, it isn't a massive chi sphere that erupts. No, this is much more similar to an attack Ryu already used in this fight. He can feel it before Kain even makes the attack, the incredible build-up of chi. The syndicate leader is holding nothing back and neither shall the World Warrior. His arms are crossed in front of him for all the good it does, which none. It burns, oh, how it burns! Feels his gi begin to catch fire, his hair crackle, a layer or two of skin peel away in some place, but he continues to advance, all the will and chi he has left within him pushing the wanderer through Kain's strike, closer and closer to his sole remaining opponent.
When the attack subsides, Ryu is close. Just close enough to put everything he has to one last attack not unlike once Kain has already experience, but three times as powerful. "SHIN" A frightful blast of air marks the fighter's kick off as he erupts within the miniature vortex, hoping to take Heinlein with him for the ride, "SHOOOORYUKEN!" Kain gets drawn in by the vortex, but he has enough time to realize what's happening. Not enough time to escape, but enough time to throw up a guard to ward off the actual blow. Ryu's fist slams into Kain's crossed arms, knocking him back and away but not managing to hit anything important.
Heinlein slides back rather more than would usually be the case once he lands, but that has much to do with the angle of the deck. He then gets to watch Ryu's unconcious form go tumbling past him. He doesn't watch to see what happens; something will work itself out. If he /really/ thought Ryu was in danger of such an ignomius death, he'd probably move to do something. But he can already see the rescue craft swarming about the vessel. Balrog... Balrog might be in trouble if he's still down below deck. But Kain doens't really give a damn about him. Now... How to get to one of those arriving boats without having to deal with the small annoyance of getting soaked. Looks like Kain will just have to wait until somebody gets a bit closer.
