The once great land of Russia. A place that would have been a profitable country for someone in Eiji's line of work years ago when the USSR was still formed. Of course Russia is still not a country to sneeze at, but given the current government and loss of power overall it has been a place Eiji has not often operated in. The cost of paying for him is too grand more often than not and Krauser could outpay any client that may come from this country. The only reason why the ninja is to even been found in this country is due to his draw for the World Warrior tournament.
A woman named Talia that looks to be of Russian decent. It looks like she will have the homefield advantage this fight as the area before the great Kremlin has been marked for where the fight is to be. Strolheim has little information on the fighter and usually to Eiji that means it isn't someone to worry too much about. Yes, there is a great deal of confidence in this ninja. He must move on and show that Strolheim is still going strong despite activity being next to nil the past several months.
So here he sits on the snow covered ground, body covered only in his typical gi that doesn't look to offer much protection from cold or the like and yet he seems unbothered by the fact the temperature is very low this day. Instead he remains standing at his less than stellar full height of five and a half feet tall with arms crossed over his chest and eyes closed as he waits for his fight to begin.

There isn't much of a delay before Eiji's opponent arrives. She approaches from one side of the designated combat zone, her now traditional steel staff in hand. While the crowd cheers on their favored pick -- a daughter of the motherland -- Talia does little to work the crowd, simply approaching Eiji in silence, with a neutral expression. She looks at her opponent intensely as the distance shortens, coming to a stop several meters away.
Still watching Eiji, Talia takes up her staff in a two-handed grip, moving to a low defensive stance. She remains that way for just a moment before nodding to the fight official, on the other side of her opponent from her. Immediately, the start of the fight is called, and Talia.. stays there. Staring at Eiji with an expression slightly less neutral, but only in that she's clearly concentrating very hard on the task at hand. Whether she has something specific in mind or not isn't clear.. But it does quickly become clear that while she's ready for combat, she isn't moving yet.

So the woman finally decides to show herself before too long. At least she doesn't seem to enjoy keeping people waiting. He can at least respect her for that. She also doesn't seem to be the type to run her mouth as well like some of these other fighters he has had to deal with. Slowly he opens his eyes and he looks ahead towards his opponent. No greeting is given in any form or fashion. Not even a nod. There is no reason to do such a thing to an opponent. All that is needed is to know that you are to make those you face suffer and she seems to know that rule well enough just by the way she carries herself.
The official on hand raises his hand and signals the fight to start. Almost instantly the ninja is in motion, an almost perpetual blur as he surges forward, his hands moving back and then thrusting forward to come around and clap together while slashing downward at the woman, his hands flashing red with energy as his hands become like blades intent on cutting whatever it can hit.

When Eiji comes for Talia, she at first remains perfectly motionless, as if combat hadn't yet started. She remains that way as he closes, although she visibly tenses in the very short span before he reaches her. When he brings his hands back, Talia thrusts down with her staff at the same time she's kicking off with her feet. The result is a three legged jump, allowing her to vault over her opponent as he swipes at the now-empty air. The staff clatters to the ground before Eiji as Talia reaches into her coat, managing to draw a pistol before reaching the apex of her ascent. She takes aim at a pressure point on her opponent's neck, firing as she passes overhead. The jump ends in a roll, where she finally stops in a defensive crouch, pistol head overhead in a scorpion stance.

The shot it hits home when fired, but the ninja seems hardly phased by it. Pain is something he is quite used to afterall. Still his focus seems more poised now and he crouches low taking on his usual fighting stance as he slowly circles about the woman before moving inwards once again to strike. His form blurring again as he charges forward to leap foward to lunge at first, but then he dives past her before twirling about in midair, his foot swinging about in an attempt to connect with the back of Talia's head.

When Eiji charges forward, Talia decides that precision isn't her ally in this fight, counter to her normal style as it may be. Quickly she returns the pistol to wherever it lives within her coat, using the same action to draw a shotgun. She's loaded a shell into the weapon before she's even finished drawing it from her coat. There's a short hop backwards when Eiji lunges, but when she realizes it's a feint, she simply fails to stop when she hits the ground. Tilting over backwards, Eiji's foot passes harmlessly over her face while Talia uses this moment to plant one hand on the ground, and fire the shotgun one-handed at Eiji's midsection. The slug is less precisely aimed than the earlier shot, but it is headed towards a weak point in the abdominal wall.
As for Talia, she uses the recoil from the shotgun to push herself forward again, this time continuing the motion into a cartwheel to put some distance between herself and her opponent.

Another miss, but the strike leaves the ninja plenty of time to react to any effort put forth in a counter attack. So the woman thinks she will be safe in using guns against him. Well he will have to make her realize the error of her ways. Twirling about in midair he easily avoids the blast sent his way and his form trails about looking it almost seem that he has split into multiple forms as he comes about to come in right at the woman, this time instead of a slash powered by that red energy it is a straight thrust meant to slam right into the woman's belly.

There was a plan in place to minimize the probability of the following event. Talia had spent quite a bit of time working through some of the ramifications of her prior problems facing energy attacks, and between that and her positioning, she expected to fare significantly better against what Eiji could bring to bear. The first time, she kept her wits about her, and handled it just as she would anything.. But this time?
Talia freezes up entirely as Eiji performs his technique, failing to move at all when the strike comes. It hits not only as it's intended to, but without even the faintest resistance. The net result is that Talia is thrown back from her opponent, tumbling some distance before finally crumpling. Despite the very clear pain she's suffering, however, Talia quickly pushes herself back into motion.. But not to retaliate. Instead, she positions herself in another defensive stance, this time holding the shotgun in two hands as if it was a staff. She's staring intently at Eiji, her expression faintly haunted as she tries to work out a new strategy, but she's not broken.
Not yet.

And there it is. The feel of touching flesh and feeling blood wet his fingers. Is that a grin forming behind the ninja's face? It certainly looks like it might be. With a smile he doesn't continue forward with his assault despite the smell of blood has him feeling on high. Instead he hangs back and there is even a few steps taken back. His eyes close for a few moments before he eventually brings his hand up to murmur something as the energy summoned forth from his body gathers in the form of a ball. With one final word his eyes open wide and he slings that ball of energy foward. The ball continues forward until it explodes into a rain of several spikes of chi aimed at piercing the woman.

When Talia sees that Eiji is collecting more of that strange energy, she visibly tenses all over, eyes widening. Then, almost as if a switch has been flipped, she relaxes.. Her expression melts back into the neutral mask from before, and she simply returns the shotgun to her coat. She stands slowly while Eiji completes his technique, waiting for the ball to leave his hands before beginning her own response.
Talia kicks herself into a spin, her coat spreading wide and obscuring both her form and her actions into a black blur, making it impossible for the crowd or cameras to see what she's doing, although Eiji might be able to track if he's watching very carefully. There's several sets of needles drawn forth rapidly from within the coat, all launched at the spikes heading for her. The needles rush out at the incoming spikes, and it's short work for them to cut a Talia sized gap in the barrage.. the remaining needles head towards Eiji, theoretically catching pressure points when they land. They lack sufficient mass to damage any other way.

Even as his attack is overtaken and easily handled by the other fighter, Eiji hardly looks bothered by it. There is hardly any change in his expression much like how it has been since the beginning of the fight. The needles puncture the ninja in various places as he continues forward, his brow furrowing ever so slightly as he closes in the distance again with his bursting speed and not even bothering with the needles that are still in his body. He brings a fist back and then lunges forward to slam it right into the face of his opponent forcefully.

Just as she's completed her retaliatory technique, Talia reaches back into her coat to draw her pistol. There's a cautionary step back as Eiji begins his charge, then she simply dives into a side roll, allowing Eiji to lunge past her prior position. On coming to a stop in her customary crouch, she fires a single shot at his back, not aimed for any vital areas, just intended to annoy and distract.

Forward he moves past the target and his back is hit with that shot before he ever gets a chance to turn about. Even so he doesn't seem too phased by it. Distraction doesn't seem to be something that is feasible in this case. His gaze remains intently on the other fighter and he doesn't seem to be interested in slowing down any time soon. Forward he goes again as his whole body starts to ignite with that dangerous energy he wields. Upwards his hands lift before he swings them downwards and the energy is released in two waves meant to overpower the other fighter and slam into her body viciously.

Talia begins to move in a clearly planned stepping pattern, apparently intending to use a more advanced technique of evasion and retaliation.. But Talia's resolve clearly cracks when Eiji begins gathering more of the energy that hurt her so bad earlier. She mis-steps her choreography, and the cumulative effect on her evasiveness is profound. What should have let her slip unharmed around the waves instead leads her to be struck full force, carried several meters across the arena. Instead of being tossed into a heap as before, Talia manages to correct her velocity, landing in a crouch.. but it's very clear from the look on her face that she's long since lost the drive to continue. Her expression is no longer neutral, but deadened, and her eyes are glazed over. She stares at Eiji for several long moments before finally standing. She looks at the official, shakes her head, then turns to walk away slowly, limping visibly.
There was no winning this fight for Talia, so there's no point pressing further. Injury can teach no more effectively than pain can, and there's plenty to learn from today's pain already.

The ninja remains ready even as the opponent is overwhelmed by his attack. He isn't ready to stop just yet. This woman has proved to be rather tricky sort so far. Her guns and such may be child's play to him, but her tenacity is something he can commend. Then it happens. She rises again, but not to continue. The official steps in to declare the match over and point to Eiji as the winner. "Over so soon...." he finally utters under his breath and straightens up only now finally letting down his guard. Very well, this is an acceptable win and he shall move on. Once again the might of Strolheim is shown. Krauser should be pleased.
Even as people linger about to possibly get a closer look at the ninja it doesn't seem they will get much of one. With a soft utterance again under his breath smoke starts to rise from the ground to engulf the ninja and soon cover him so he can make his escape from the mundane people. The smoke harmless is carried away by the breeze soon after with the ninja already long gone.
