Whew, what a wild week. I did my best, folks-- there aren't a lot of exciting special rules this time around, unfortunately, but hopefully that will just leave you undistracted from all the great opportunities all these matches will provide! Right? Right.
Also, I couldn't get everyone, although I did do my best to adapt to the late entries, so some of you should have gotten in. Remember! The deadline is Wednesday evening. I do most of my thinking about concepts earlier than the day I post, so please, if you want in, join early in the week.

MATCH 1 ~ Maxima VERSUS Zero VERSUS Shenwoo IN 'Rage Against the Machine'

MATCH 2 ~ Zaki AND Sada VERSUS Takuma IN 'Chaining the Titan'
LOCATION: Kyokugen Dojo, Southtown Outskirts
SPECIAL: Uncontainable Wrath- If Zaki and Sada have not already acknowledged the similarities of their fighting styles ICly, now would be the time, because they'll need teamwork to take down this beast. One requirement: at some point during the match, Takuma must, in a round where he has been damaged by chain attacks from both opposing fighters (not necessarily successfully hit, just taken damage from), he must posed being ensnared by the chains, roaring in fury, and bursting free. Zaki, Sada, bring extra chains.

MATCH 5 ~ Seishirou VERSUS Raiden IN 'David and Goliath'
LOCATION: The top of Tel Azeka, Israel, Middle East
TRIVIA: Tel Azeka, overlooking the valley of Ella, is the hill where it is believed the Philistine camp stood when David fought Goliath.
MATCH 6 ~ Kaiwei AND Aislinn VERSUS Akira IN 'Cosplay Battle'
LOCATION: Comics Convention, Japan
SPECIAL: Fighters In Disguise- Not just any cosplay battle. These three fighters, before taking to the raised platform upon which they shall fight, must each dress as a /different/ popular fighter, preferably one that in some way resembles them.
MATCH 7 ~ Mizuki AND Soma VERSUS Drake AND Leilani IN 'Come One, Come All'
LOCATION: Community Center Lobby, Southtown (!)
SPECIAL: New Area!- That's right folks, there's a new public space in town. There'll be a hopefully entertaining Recent Headlines post up about it soon enough. >:D Check out the exits Downtown. But, uh... don't check it out *yet*, because I don't have the descs up. I'll be doing that as soon as I finish posting these SNFs. Really, I swear. R...really. Anyway, in celebration of our new area, Howard Enterprises has obliged the YFCC (Young Fighters' Community Center) by putting an SNF spotlight on it. Let's show everybody what our up-and-coming fighters are made of!
MATCH 8 ~ M.Bison VERSUS Yamazaki VERSUS Clark IN 'Subordinate Squabble'
LOCATION: Abandoned Limestone Quarry, Indiana, United States

SPECIAL: Rock Crushers- Bonus points to whoever destroys the most boulders during the course of the match, whether directly through strikes or indirectly by hitting opponents into them.
MATCH 9 ~ Sakura AND Ryo VERSUS Kurow AND Balrog IN 'Get Schooled'
LOCATION: Taiyo High Rooftop
SPECIAL: School Spirit- Each fighter must wear a school uniform. Uniforms of martial art schools do not count. Additionally, the fighters must mingle with the Taiyo High school crowd for a few moments before the fight begins; describe the results of this as you please. Finally-- although I doubt Sakura and Kurow have any /specific/ beef, this fight may reveal to our young villain one of the sources of true challenge he may face in his secret quest to dominate the school system...
MATCH 10 ~ Kensou VERSUS Nassir AND Arika IN 'Yakitate! Chinatown'
LOCATION: Expansive back room of a meatbun store, Chinatown, Southtown
SPECIAL: Bakery Bonzanza- Welcome to the place where meatbuns are made. Kensou is most definitely the home team here; so if our child assassin and punk prodigy are to have any hope of succeeding, they must use every mixing bowl, spatula, and chef's hat at their disposal. Don't get the dough dirty, now. And try not to tumble into any ovens.
MAIN EVENT ~ Ryu VERSUS Roberto AND Boman AND Kasumi IN 'United By Homelessness'
LOCATION: Howard Arena
SPECIAL: Civic Spirit- The proceeds from this charity match will go to aid the homeless shelters and soup kitchens all over Southtown; thus, even if he loses, Ryu will at least have a warm place to sleep tonight.
Hope these matches work out. Either way, please @mail me with the results so I know what went down; remember, this includes if the match didn't happen! I'm not sure I can emphasize that enough. XD

SNF Matches: 5/10/07 - Fri May 11 2007 - Crow

Okay! Gonzales is a bit busy this week, so I've taken over assigning SNF matches.
I managed to get everybody who signed up, and although a few of the special rules don't really have a huge impact on the fight as far as the CSYS goes, I hope you guys will enjoy them.
Match 1 ~ Hideo VERSUS Marisol AND Luc AND Hakuya IN 'Head of the Class'
LOCATION: Justice High Courtyard
SPECIAL: Youth Discipline- Thanks to an agreement with the schools in question, Hideo has been granted authority to discipline the kids if they step out of line, for the purpose of helping to mold a generation of well mannered youths. Any signs of bad sportsmanship, disrespect for elders, or anything else that Hideo disapproves of can be punished by detention, the length of which is at Hideo's discretion. As part of this, however, within the first three rounds Hideo must 'pass' as his action, and use the time to deliver a lecture on proper behavior.
Match 2 ~ Faolan AND Ryuujin VERSUS Fio AND Nassir IN 'Survival Games'
LOCATION: Jungle around lake Yak Loum in Cambodia

SPECIAL: The Show Must Go On- Each fighter will have a small spy-style camera attached to their clothing, to make up for the difficulties involved in trying to get a film crew out into this sort of location. These cameras are impact and water resistant, but they can still be disabled by a strong enough blow, get torn off, etc. If a fighter loses their camera or has it destroyed, they're out of the match. Combatants are encouraged to use the terrain to their advantage as much as possible.
Match 3 ~ Shermie AND Drake VERSUS Shenwoo IN 'Mall Breakers'
LOCATION: South China Mall, Dongguan, China

SPECIAL: Shop 'Till You Drop- Although it's the largest mall in the world, the South China Mall has had trouble getting retailers to actually fill all that space, and advertising through SNF seems like a good way to pick up business. To encourage the fighters to be as spectacular as possible as well as showing off the existing stores, the owners of the mall have made an offer: Each successful hit wins the attacker any one item of their choice from the closest store to the spot where the blow is made. Getting the stuff home (and dealing with customs agents) is up to the fighters, though.
Match 4 ~ Leona VERSUS Todoh IN 'Age Before Beauty'
LOCATION: Shrine, Southtown
SPECIAL: After You- Todoh has been granted the privilege of starting the fight. He has the option, however, of allowing Leona that honor.
Match 5 ~ Luise VERSUS Aislinn AND Sada IN 'Don't Look Down'
Location: Grand Canyon Skywalk

SPECIAL: You Break It, You Bought It- Not really much in the way of special rules here... Just try not to destroy the $40 million platform.
Match 6 ~ Hotaru AND Soma VERSUS Miu AND Tenma IN 'Big Top'
LOCATION: Big Apple Circus, New York City
SPECIAL: Clowning Around- While the fight is going on, the circus' clowns will be running around giving their own performance. Fighters are under no circumstances allowed to attack the clowns, but very well find themselves drawn into the act. Bonus points for anybody who ends up getting hit in the face with a pie.
Match 7 ~ Rock VERSUS Dudley WITH CHAOS AGENT M.Bison IN 'Sucker Punch'
LOCATION: Theater in MGM Grand Las Vegas hotel
SPECIAL: Chaos Agent- Standard Chaos Agent rules; Bison alternates between attacking Rock and Dudley unless otherwise provoked. However, Rock and Dudley don't know that there's going to be a Chaos Agent. After those two take their first actions, Bison will enter from behind the back curtain and the announcement will be made /after/ he throws his first punch.
Match 8 ~ Akira VERSUS Maki VERSUS Tessa AND Arika IN 'Ladies Night'
LOCATION: The Duck Pond
SPECIAL: Dress For Success- Each fighter is expected to arrive in a clubbing outfit; keep your receipts for reimbursment from Howard Enterprises. The outfits won't affect the fight in any way... It's just good for ratings.
Match 9 ~ Kensou VERSUS Tran AND Mizuki IN 'Is There a Doctor in the House?'
LOCATION: Riverboat on the Mississippi River
SPECIAL: Can't Stop!- The actual fight takes place on top of the boat's paddlewheels. They've been fitted with a cover, so there's actually enough room for fighters to stand in a relatively normal position, but standing still is a bad idea for obvious reasons. Due to the nature of the fight, there's no time to stay still long enough to compose, rest, or use heals. Focusing or charging may be possible, but please bear in mind that you'll be constantly running or jumping to keep from being dumped in the water.
MAIN EVENT ~ Chun-Li VERSUS Kurow VERSUS Chizuru IN 'Fleet Feet'
LOCATION: Howard Arena
SPECIAL: Can't Touch This?- For the most part this is just going to be a normal match, and quite likely one without a lot of dodging involved. During the course of the fight, however, each fighter is required to try to endure at least one attack. It doesn't matter which opponent it comes from.
Since I'm handling the fights this week, you can go ahead and @mail me with your results. That way everything goes to one person and there's no worry about losing track of any results.

Okay folks, here are your SNF matches! I'd just like to reiterate my mention from last week; please @mail me with the results of your matches. Also please have someone @mail me if it turns out that you're not able to get your match finished. This stuff can usually be determined later by looking at the logs, but it's nice to try keeping it organized.
Match 1 ~ Kasumi AND Hinako VERSUS Ryo IN 'Fight Promoters'
LOCATION: Outside the Kyokugen Dojo
SPECIAL: Funding- Rather than fighting in order to take away a dojo sign or any such thing, the winner(s) of this fight benefit, rather than taking something away from the loser. The winner of the fight will have an advertisement for the fighting school of their choice played on TV and funded by Howard Enterprises, although if they win Hinako and Kasumi will have to come to an agreement. In the event of a tie, the ad will go to Dan Hibiki's Saikyo-ryu School.
Match 2 ~ Raiden VERSUS Haggar WITH CHAOS AGENT Vyle IN 'Wrestlemania'
LOCATION: Pro Wrestling Ring, Metro City
SPECIAL: Nothing too unusual here... Just a chance for two large man to attempt to break each other in half, while a dirty
fighter interferes. Godspeed, gentlemen.
Match 3 ~ Hotaru AND 'Hurricane Hime' VERSUS Mimiru AND Arika IN 'Ghost Busters'
LOCATION: Haunted House, Dream Amusement Park
SPECIAL: Boo!- The fight takes place in an amusement park haunted house full of animatronic ghouls and other special effects. Cameras have been placed all over the building, so the fighters are free to move about as they will while battling one another.
Match 4 ~ Makoto VERSUS Akira IN 'Mile High Club'
LOCATION: Jet flying over Japan
SPECIAL: Watch for Turbulence- A private jet has been chartered for this fight, and there's plenty of space cleared in the center of the main cabin. The weather report calls for some turbulence, but it shouldn't be too bad... hopefully.
Match 5 ~ Tenma AND Luc VERSUS Drake AND Ryuujin IN 'Fangirl's Delight'
LOCATION: Fashion Show, Rome, Italy
SPECIAL: Looking Fabulous- Last week there was a fight to grab ratings from the guys, and this time the ladies will get their turn. Each fighter will be allowed their choice of the new summer fashions on display at the show, then get to show off their new outfits over the course of the fight to the ladies in the audience.
Match 6 ~ Yamazaki VERSUS Maxima VERSUS Shenwoo IN 'Break Stuff'
LOCATION: Foreclosed Antiques Shop, Southtown
SPECIAL: Does My Insurance Cover This?- People in the audience like to see stuff getting smashed; it's a proven fact. Due to some financial difficulties an antiques shop has had to close, and the mortgage just happens to be owned by Howard Enterprises. Everything in the shop has already been written off, so the combatants are encouraged to go nuts. Possible thrown objects and random weapons abound!
Match 7 ~ Frei AND Sada VERSUS Maki IN 'MythBusters'
LOCATION: Abandoned stretch of highway, California
SPECIAL: Fighter Myths- As part of an upcoming episode, the MythBusters team is investigating just what kind of physical capabilities a skilled fighter has. The fighters and their weapons will be equipped with various sensors to monitor speed, striking force, joules of energy created, etc. More detailed tests will be required before the show is complete, but this should make for some nice footage for the start of the episode.
Match 8 ~ Katelynn VERSUS Mizuki VERSUS Gabriel VERSUS Tessa IN 'Cold Steel'
LOCATION: Indoor ice hockey rink, Canada
SPECIAL: Skate or Die!- This match is a free for all, but fought on the ice. It's not strictly required for the combatants to wear ice skates, so if they've got some better idea for moving around, they can feel free to use that, or just fall down a lot. (Note: Running your opponents down with the zamboni will be grounds for disqualification.)
Match 9 ~ Faolan VERSUS Marisol IN 'Luck o' the Irish'
LOCATION: Blarney Castle, Ireland

Main Event ~ Terry VERSUS Kain IN 'Title Match'
LOCATION: Howard Arena
SPECIAL: Championship- Ever since Kain and Terry first fought each other to be the 'Champion of SNF', Kain has held onto the title. Now Terry has his chance to take that away from Heinlein.

MATCH 1 ~ Tenma AND Hakuya VERSUS Luc AND Marisol in 'Twin Team Trouble'
LOCATION: Taiyo High Roof (Neutral Ground)
SPECIAL: Togetherness Tactics~ Totally tubular! Each fighter must at some point during the match use the 'assist' command creatively on your teammate. Unfortunately the roof is a bit barren of environmental tools, but you will receive bonus points for involving as much alliteration as possible during your assist pose. In any case, the Pacific Resistance is a little lacking today. Where is Preston? Well...
MATCH 2 ~ Eva AND Sada VERSUS Preston AND Arika in 'For Queen and Country'
LOCATION: Radcliffe Camera, Oxford, England

SPECIAL: World Revolution~ ...he's been recalled. It's not quite Buckingham Palace, but it's a nice enough place to stage a match for Brittania, especially when Brittania's opponents appear to be two high school girls. Still, it's a fight for the honor of England-- or is it? Even with British fans looking on, are Preston and Arika really ones that would care about something like that..?
MATCH 3 ~ Shenwoo AND Ryuujin VERSUS Shermie AND Brian in 'Onegai Teacher!'
LOCATION: Outside Memorial Hall, Harvard University, United States

SPECIAL: Knowledge is Power~ Shenwoo and Shermie are the 'team leaders' for this one. They have been instructed to take special care of their respective sidekicks, who are in dire need of instruction, the nature of which has been left unclear. Presumably Ryuujin needs headbutting lessons and Brian is a haircare amateur. Whatever the case, Ryuujin and Brian have been requested to generally assent to their team leader's suggestions. Yes even you Brian. I know she's French. You'll just have to deal.
MATCH 4 ~ Akira VERSUS Drake AND Tessa in 'Win Another Day'
LOCATION: St. Mark's Square, Venice, Italy

SPECIAL: Defeat Is Not Enough~ This time it's not a spelling error, and Domino has a fighting chance to redeem himself in the eyes of the world and take another step forward on his quest for self-definition as a 'real life' warrior. Can Drake Bond and this week's Bond girl defeat the villain that plagues him? Are we doomed to another sequel? Will I die by thrown shield for calling Tessa a 'Bond girl'? Only time will tell.
MATCH 5 ~ Roberto AND Kaiwei VERSUS Hotaru AND Miu in 'Awkward Complement'
LOCATION: Boardwalk, Southtown
SPECIAL: One More Thing~ Hotaru and Miu, despite going to the same school, may or may not make a bit of an odd pair, but surely not quite so much as Roberto and Kaiwei. Soccer balls. What will these kids think of next, ping pong combat? Bonus points to anyone who apps a ping pong combat OC. Oh, and one more thing: did you guys notice the pun in the premise? Sorry, I was just proud of that one. Didn't want it to slip by.
MATCH 6 ~ Maki VERSUS Kurow WITH CHAOS AGENT Shingo in 'Super Ninja Fight 3D'
LOCATION: Secluded Forest Village, Japan
SPECIAL: Shingo Scramble~ Being a Chaos Agent is all well and good, but not so much when your opponents are able to leap nimbly from one cottage roof to another as they ninja battle their way all across this vintage Japanese village. Ninjas, take advantage of all three dimensions and give Shingo as hard a time as possible, and be sure to taunt each other constantly. Kurow, bonus points for saying 'Kunoichi? More like kunohoochie' and commenting disparagingly on Maki's lack of pants. Just kidding Maki, I think you're great.
MATCH 7 ~ Leona VERSUS Ryo WITH CHAOS AGENT Clark in 'Partial Judgment'
LOCATION: Outside Stockholm Palace, Sweden, Europe

SPECIAL: As In, Not Impartial~ Rules are rules and surely Leona would never encourage anyone to break them, but Stockholm is far from SNF HQ and Ryo might give her a hard time... so the real question is, when duties conflict, what must Clark do?
MATCH 8 ~ Rose VERSUS Chizuru in 'Treasure Trove'
LOCATION: Metropolitan Museum, Near Metro Square
SPECIAL: High Class Ladies~ They may not have any sacred treasures, but the Metro Met still has quite the selection. Once you get tired of fighting in the lobby, why not check out their fine dadaism selection?
MAIN EVENT ~ Kain VERSUS Rock WITH CHAOS AGENT Yamazaki in 'Family Gathering'
LOCATION: Howard Arena
SPECIAL: Free Rein~ It doesn't get much better than this for our ol' pal Ryuji. Once again Yamazaki is free to go nuts, and this time, the goal is to inflict the maximum possible punishment; whoever currently seems to have the advantage should be the target. Ironically, will this give young Howard a fighting chance?
