SNF 2006.10 - Cosplay! Jiro/Frei vs Krizalid

Description: I went with that title because "Jiro's ridiculous luck and Frei's bird costume vs. Krizalid" is over 30 characters long. Plus, wasn't an elevator and girders supposed to figure in here somewhere...? (Winners: Jiro and Frei)

Metro City. This is the area where the construction is usually taken place at. As they are continuing the Metro City rehabilitation project, the construction sites are keeping up with the framework. Within the middle of the area, suspended in the air is a wide square platfom. The platform is not rising for a nice while, until the match begins. But while it remains at rest, the cool air blows to offer some nice comfort through the hot sun.
Almost near one of the corners, Jiro is staring down to see the people watching, ranging from other folks of Metro Ciy to even an old friend. In fact, Jiro is actually smiling as he can regonize a teenager about his age, an African American man in a wheelchair. Grinning, Jiro gives the man a thumbs up before he looks about, "Alright... time to make this shit good." He exhales, leaning himself up before tightening the gloves on his arms.

The problem with being able to do something and do it well is that sometimes you're asked to do it on a repeat basis. Take, for example, Frei Tsukitomi-Renard. He's short. He's cute in that bishounen sort of way despite being halfway to 30. And perhaps the worst part of all of this is that he looks good in various costumes. He's been a cat, Batman, and a Sasquatch in the history of SNF, and that's not even counting his various Neo League fights.
Why is this a problem? He's developed a fan following in Southtown. That's right... he's playing to the cosplayer set.
High school and college kids into costumes have noticed the aplomb with which the young monk has melded showmanship and fighting through the use of costumes and now there's an entire fan culture devoted to it. It's small -- like the number of people who thought 'Beyond the Beyond' was a good RPG -- but it's vocal. And celebrating Frei's next fight in advance, they sent him a parcel in the middle of the week with a note attached, reading: "From your fans <3".
It's probably a good thing that this fight is taking place in scaffolding and is about rising into the sky. Because waddling out of the camera crew's van (which Frei has commandeered for clothes changing in the past) and toward the fight arena is... basically, a yellow ball with a round white tummy and a cartoony bird's mask, Frei's auburn bangs and round, friendly face emerging from the beak. A fan of yellow feathers extends behind him for the tail. In deference to his normal costume, however, he's tied his black and gold bandana around the bird's head.
Rappy!Frei waves a... flipper? Fin? Something... at Jiro. "Yo!"

For his part, the man known as Krizalid has yet to actually set foot onto the platform. He's with the crowd, doing his own thing. Though he isn't exactly mingling with it or signing autographs. He's just... party to it. His arm is around a woman who *is* signing her name to things. Standing, y'know, really close and kinda looming there. And in his long dark coat, with its mantle of black feathers, he might really compliment her if she were still doing that old Dark Angel show. But the publicity for that show should be over and done with since the series was completed, meaning, what he's wearing isn't a costume. It's what he always wears. Does that mean he's just some kind of creepy stalker fan like the ones rabid for those autographs? ...in a sense, yes. The only difference is, he can totally get away with standing that close, and none of the others can. And this is proven a couple of times as Ms. Alba's bodyguard removes a couple of guys from her immediate presence for getting almost as close to her as the NESTS officer is, while he remains without question. There are actually two reasons for this. One, he looks a bit tougher than said bodyguard, and two, well... that's made apparent when he begins to walk away and get ready for his fight. Jessica drops everything and rushes over to lean up and kiss him on the cheek, whispering softly, "For luck."
The crowd sort of goes silent for a moment, and all have this 'WTF' look on their faces. But for those not in Frei's fanclub, can one really tell which of the two they're most confused about? Either way though, the moment passes, and Krizalid pops his collar before his heavy boots finally clang onto the indicated platform and he starts to regard his opponents with a keen eye, brows raised.

This is a moment of concentration and a possible good fortune of how the fights shall go. This Krizalid guy is unheard of, so it is a wonder what Jiro actually plans to do involving the fight. He'll just have to stick with his usual tactics until he can come up with something good. His eyes shift towards the arrival of his partner, who is making his way to the fighting arena in....
__OH HELL NO__!
Jiro stares at Frei for a few moments. He is starting to recall his brief Phantasy Star Online days. ...It involved getting jumped by rappies dying from the swarm, and Mimiru laughing about 'birdrape'. Jiro quitted the game afterwards.
"I think I just died a little inside."
At this point, Jiro exhales a sigh and facepalms, "I do hope you don't actually plant to fight in that, right? You're my partner in this fight, but I have half of mind to go for roast bird."
Then, the arrival of the the trenchcoated man draws his attention with a raised eyebrow, "Hrm." The young man shrugs, then he tightens his fist, "Let's get this fight over with before Geese gets any ideas on implimenting costumes in the following matches."
He tightens his body, then he draws his guard up. Jiro doesn't seem to have too much support fan-base wise. But that's alright. Kyle's the one that really matters. So, on with the fight.

Some people in the crowd are eating Frei's costume up. Others... look like they might if he's mostly white meat. The monk, for his part, is just beaming away like an idiot. If anything, he's fighting someone he doesn't know at all, and someone he knows to be the dictionary definition of 'No sense of humor'. So he decided to go along with the cosplay thing. Besides, the fur is really nice, they must have spent a fortune on it. Go on, touch it. And guaranteed to take a Hadouken and come out smelling like a daisy.
"Do people even FIGHT for fun anymore?" he says glumly, glancing at Jiro and then stepping onto the platform. Krizalid catches his eye for a moment -- after all, the feather-linked jacket? Hella snazzy -- but soon he's going through warm-ups, extending the fingerless flipper-like wings over his head for a moment in a parody of a jumping jack and bouncing on his feet before dropping back into... well, it might be a stance. Kinda. "Well, *I do*. So suck it up."
Glancing over at Krizalid, Frei gives him a jaunty salute and a cheerful wing-wave as the officials bellow "FIGHT!" and the elevator have started to move (tm, Hideo Kojima). "Okay... let's see how hard it is to move in this thing." Shaking out his arms, the monk suddenly drives forward at Krizalid, looking to plant a wing right in the tall man's tummy. "RAPPY PUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!"

Krizalid really doesn't know what to think of either of the two as of yet. At first glance, he doesn't seem much reason to take either of them as too big a threat. But he knows better than to trust appearances. Afterall, he's doubtlessly seen at least some files on them before. They've both been around a while, and there are plenty of agents from NESTS out gathering fighter data every day. The problem is just *remembering* it. Which he really doesn't. Not a lick of it. And that's why when Frei comes for him first and tries to punch him in the stomach, he's a bit hesitant as to what to do. Part of him doesn't really care what happens, or that he is ultimately struck because of his indecisiveness, but the voice of his ego is there at the back of his mind screaming at him like his stepmother all the same.
"Nn! ...whatever that was." Dammit though, calling out stuff like that always makes his suit record that as the name for the attack. He'll have to edit it later if he ever finds otherwise. Things like that /really/ bug him. "Well, I don't rightly know what the deal is what the costume, but don't expect it to last very long." The points of his fingertips sort of glint in the light to better punctuate the last statement, and then he begins to twist at the hip and leap a few feet into the air, aiming a swipe of his metal talons at the head of the bright yellow birdsuit. And all the while, he peers at Jiro out from the corner of one eye.

"..." Jiro stares at Frei for a few moments with a surprised look. "Okay, he attacked... and he was successful." He shakes his head, then he puts his game face on. Whatever, the fight's going on now and Jiro has to act. So, while Krizalid turns his attention onto Frei, the Stray Dog starts sprinting towards the older man wit narrowed eyes. Sure, Krizalid can see him, and he'll giv the guy something to look at. Drawing both of his hands into the air, he growls under his breath as two spheres of white light form in his grasp.
Chi burning in his hands, the white flames finaly form to life and roar as he calls out, "RIOT CROSS!" The flames soon spiral around, aiming to travel towards Krizalid.
This should give Frei some time, and at the meantime, Jiro will have to assess this man to see what to aim for.

Well, when you're attacked and you're not the dodgy type, it's usually in your best interest to divert the blow somewhere else, right? That's Frei's thinking, anyway, as he crosses his flipper-wing-whatevers in front of his face, half-turning it away. Sadly, you might as well try to stop a Mack truck with a pair of chopsticks. Unless you're Oro, that don't work. The talons slice through the costume instantly and dig nice, deep, red gouges in Frei's upraised arms as well. Look at it this way: we're saved the problem of me having to come up with descriptions for Rag Rappy wings now.
Falling back a step, the monk just... stops, not moving, and rubbing the long bloody lines across his forearms and trying to get a grip on what just happened. "Okay..." he murmurs, grimacing against the pain. "...this isn't going well at all."

COMBATSYS: Frei gains composure.

No one ever seems to expect the claws, possibly because they're not of the Freddy variety that so many other scary dudes prefer. But talons on the fingertips are every bit as effective as scissorhands, as Krizalid has just gotten through demonstrating. And the resulting blood that's drawn makes him grin just a bit, even though he should be paying more attention to the white cross of flame that's on a collision course with the side of his head. He saw it, afterall. All that movement in the corner of his vision, and bright light as it got closer. But he still reacts at the last possible movement, and it's too late. He can't dash back quite that fast after landing and he's not only struck, but some of his feathers get lit up with flame. They're really quite flammable, as is the rest of his jacket.
But he doesn't just stand there and give it the time to burn off this time. Instead the silver-haired lieutenant opts to run at Jiro as fast as he can in the space allowed and rely on the shifting air for putting a stop to the small coatfire while he focuses on ramming his shoulder into the youth that caused it.

After the flaming spheres make its mark on the strange man, the Stray Dog keeps his stance tighten, not looking particularly pleased with the possible turn of events. THe Stray Dog is seeing that the man is coming forward with the fact that the man charging straight at him, so he is opting for the jumping over tactic. Given that he is not exactly a ninja of some sort, that idea collapses right in his face as he is rammed straight towards the edge.
"Eghnk..." He growls underneath his breath, then he rolls himself back up. While rolling back up, he keeps low in order to sweep his right leg underneath Krizalid's ankle to trip him.
"FREI! GO!"

Although he feels a little better after taking a moment to gather his strength, Frei still looks... hurt. Well, and bleeding, but mostly he actually looks puzzled. He's never understood why someone would bring something like claws to a match like this. The first lesson he learned as a child is 'a sword is a tool for killing', after all; to him, someone who brandishes steel better be prepared to cash that particular philological check.
Even without Jiro's prompting, however, the monk is already gathering blue-white chi in both hands, the tattered frays of his former costume sleeves blowing about as the elevator climbs higher. Just as Jiro goes for the sweep, the monk swings both arms forward, hurling two spheres of icy chi at Krizalid before they join into one larger, more potent grenade of ice shards. "What the hell! I'm not a pokemon!"

Krizalid is all primed and ready to strike with that leg when Jiro attempts to sweep him, so, you know how that goes. Only he doesn't strike first. He just tenses the muscles in his calf so that Jiro's attempt is halted, and the man keeps his footing. This of course makes it easier for him to deal with Frei's incoming ice attack since he doesn't have to worry about getting back up, and one sleeve of his coat is raised to deflect the incoming spheres of cold energy.
And, he doesn't end up changing his plan the slightest bit afterward. He still thrusts out his foot at Jiro, just at a slightly different angle, and brings it down at him hard enough to kick up a man-sized whirlwind, visible to the eye and laced with dark energy that cuts on contact. "Tornado!"

"Could have fooled me with that costume." Jiro quips with a hiss while he slams the foot down towards the man's ankle, only to feel like that he's kicking down a brick wall. And doing a horrible job at that as well. With the foot halted in place, Jiro growls out, "Shit..." Then the man manages to get free of he and Frei's double teaming tactic. Oh fun, then the guy slas his foot down.
The surging winds becoming rougher and scarier, the Stray Dog growls under his breath, backing away from the whirlwind while keeping his guard up. Biting against the piercing wind, the Stray Dog hisses. "Damnit.." Then he pulls back when the wind lets up. He looks at Frei for a moment, debating on how to shake the guy's defenses down and work with his partner. At the process of the thinking, he's spinning back to distance himself from Krizalid.
At the same time, the Stray Dog says, "ALright Frei, time to give you a boost!" He aims to grab his partner by is arm, then he swings the man over, "Ready..." He grunts, then he aims to give Frei a launching boost towards Krizalid.

COMBATSYS: Jiro assists Frei.

"This is from PhanWAH!" Yeah, Frei was not expecting that. He is slightly impressed with the way Krizalid basically shrugged off his attack as if hit had never happened. Not exactly surprised -- SNF makes at least a token nod to fairness, so any fighter in 2v1 on the lone side is probably pretty skilled -- but interested. Never mind the tornado... the fact is that Frei was so caught up in thinking about Kriz's chi that he doesn't notice Jiro until it's too late.
But, might as well make the most of it, right? Flexing his fingers, he rights himself in midair and snaps out a hand to catch Krizalid near the shoulder by whatever he can grab. "Couldn't do this with the costume on, anyway!" If he can get purhcase, the monk drives his weight forward and all but chokeslams his opponent into the floor of the elevator, green motes of light spreading from the point of impact, heightened by earthy chi.

Krizalid's shoulders are a bit hard to find in that mass of feathers. The fire turn out to thin them that much, testament to just how thickly they're piled on. But that's not the entirety of what causes the duo's plan to go all wrong. The tall mocha-skinned man is just harder to force down than is expected, even against all of Frei's wait. And to make matters worse, he catches Frei's hands and starts repelling that green earth chi away from himself with his own dark wind and fire and feeding it back into him before letting go and shoving him away. "Nice try. Let me know when you feel like having another go at it."

Launch completed.
Fission mailed.
Okay, the strategy did not work. Even the added assist seems to be going wrong against Frei's favor, so Jiro is shaking his head with an annoyed expression. At this point, Jiro is deciding to forego on the whole strategy thing and just aim to take out Krizalid. The fist tightens itself as the Stray Dog looks back at Frei's end, then he glances back at Krizalid. His eyes narrow, then he sprints forth towards the man.
With that in mind, the Stray Dog immediately launches himself forward and greets the man by lifting his left leg out and slam it out towards his stomach, aiming to send him back a bit.

Ow.
Amazingly, Frei rolls to a stop in short order, looking much less the worse for wear from Krizalid's chi assault than from the earlier meeting with the talons. The costume is a writeoff, though; underneath the monk is wearing an oversize white tank-top and khaki hiking shorts, which flutter in the breeze as the elevator rises ever higher. This fight is not going well, at all. But what the hey, it's SNF.
Deciding to go for the gusto, the monk ducks forward, coming in from a different angle than Jiro, and snaps out a hand to grab Krizalid one more time. If he can get enough leverage, Frei all but tosses him skyward before hopping up and snagging the back of Krizalid's coat, driving him back down to earth before Frei himself swings his weight forward to land on the tall fighter feet-first. Elaborate and thus easier to escape from, perhaps... but kinda nasty if it works.

Krizalid proves to be as hard to lift as he is to push down, from the looks of it, as his feet just barely leave the ground before he kicks his legs back down, and with the help of the added gravity from the platform as it rises to even loftier heights, regains his footing, taking his stance and dusting his coat off as if nothing had happened. What makes this really impressive though, is that he does it just after shrugging off a kick in the gut from Jiro. It's like it either didn't wind him at all, or at the very least not enough to hinder his movement. He just takes a boxing stance, and begins to edge away from Frei and back toward Jiro, looking for a jab that's aimed right for his chin. "Let's see how you are at fist fighting, eh?"

t Narrowing his eyes at Krizalid as he takes the lead, the Stray Dog snorts nce the man takes the blow made by the older man. Nevertheless, the Stray Dog looks quite unhappy with the fact that he is still up. What is even more mystifying is that the man is taking a boxing stance, daring the Stray Dog to come forth with his boxing skills Then, Jiro is greeted with a jab towards the chin. His head rears back from the impact, bouncing forth and then he meets with Krizalid with a very ferocious look. So far, Jiro's doing a good job of no saying a thing, honestly, but the fact that he is angry is apparent. Instead of letting the face and growl do the talking, he will let his chi do the talking.
Soon, the white flames ignite from both of his hands, as he's channeling his Fury into the manifestation of white flames. With no discrimination in mind, the relentless fury has itself known as the white flames burning in Jiro's grasp. The Stray Dog does not waste time, however. Once he is given the chance to move, he lunges himself straight towards the dark skinned man, not even bothering to draw his fist back.
Instead, he launches it straight forward, allowing the white flames to grow and expand around his hand as he seeks to drive the fist towards Krizalid's chest. Once the fist comes close enough, the explosion of white chi will emit, the roar of flames burning through the air as chi lashes out like a serpent's tailwhip.

Well, heck. Frei's non-chi-using moves have never been particularly good. He's not like most fighters, who learned how to harness their chi while they learned how to fight. Frei learned how to use his chi first and then grew into the fighting as needed. It never really stuck; he's much more at ease hucking energy around than being all wire-fu. When he sees Jiro go Rambo with the white fire, he decides to hang back, throwing his arms to his side and gathering his strength. He's... probably gonna need it.

Krizalid grins almost insanely after cracking Jiro across the jaw, so sure of himself at that moment. But then when it's time for Jiro to punch back, he opts not to take it like a man and instead tries for some dirty trick like kicking another tornado at him, hoping it will come out in time and get in the way. But it doesn't. His leg is barely even raises before he's got a flaming fist slammed into his chest, causing him to stagger back quite a ways from the explosion that follows, and then he's left sneering at Jiro and Frei. *Now* he certainly looks winded, and none too happy. He's always been afraid of monumental failures like that, and there was one of the many. "Rrgh! You're definitely going to pay for that one... " He may not win here, no, but he's still got strength enough to maim the younger man considerably. Perhaps that will serve to make him feel better about screwing up at least.

@emit
There is some satisfaction in releasing the heavy blow of chi and his physical prowess right into Krizalid's form. However, the Stray Dog does not see this fight over until the man falls down hard. This is why the young man decides that it is better to actually press on than to keep the small talk going that the perfectionist is doing. So, Jiro narrows his eyes and he sprints straight towards the older man.
Winding his fist back, the young man extends his right arm out and he lunges his body forward, aiming to clothesline Krizalid into the ground.
Or if he misses, he'll likely jump up to the girder to help ease the momentum as a fall back.

The haze of focusing on his chi passes from Frei's eyes just in time to see Jiro put the serious smack on Krizalid. Blinking, the monk rubs at the at least no longer bleeding wounds on his forearms and tries to think this through. He's been... of zero use in this fight completely from minute one, but on the other hand, he's happy; that means he's seeing Jiro fight at a level he hadn't seen the Stray Dog perform at before.
Grinning at that thought, the monk extends his hands to his sides, and then sweeps them in toward his body, Athena-style. Around Krizalid, the wind suddenly picks up, looking to buffet the man into the air in a burst of wind chi. If it works? Frei suddenly springs into action, leaping up to catch the tall fighter and then hurl him at the ground at speed.

Well, Krizalid is clotheslined hard enough that it takes quite a toll on his windpipe and makes his eyes bug out. He must have really pissed Jiro off, huh. In any case, the man is tired by this point, so dodging punches was not the best idea. Wind chi though, that's almost his forte. The wind doesn't even touch him, mostly because he's just plain gone from that spot by the time Frei's attack is in full effect. What's left in his place is a column of flame, while he himself is off like a shot and rushing Jiro with all of his fiersome might, attempting to shove him back as close to the edge of the platform as he can, and then pummel him with a flurry of punches so fast his arms will look like rubber, all finished off with a flaming punch of his own just to make the payback complete.

With the momentum pressed forward through the Stray Dog, Jiro has managed to make himself the big dog of the match, but he is not going to congratulate himself yet, not until the man is down and he does not get up. The Stray Dog definately has no intentions of giving this fighter an easy time in dealing with him. So, with that being said, the Stray Dog immediately spins around as he lands against the girder, then he leaps off of the girder and back onto the stage.
....Right towards the incoming flaming dash and the potential assault that would result in bad things for him. So, instead, Jiro rolls away from the strike, ducking on the ground and rolling away from the disasterous turn of events. After the roll, he pushes himself up and spins around, growling while drawing his fist out to deliver a backfist against the back of Krizalid's head.

The monk's jaw tightens in frustration. True, that wind technique isn't his speediest of strikes, but it was probably his last chance to do anything even remotely useful in this fight. Flexing his fingers, Frei simply tracks Jiro and Krizalid with his eyes. Gotta put the bad thoughts out of your mind. You showed up, you made the effort. That's what counts. Holding his hands palm-inward in front of his chest, Frei begins to gather a rather larger amount of chi compared to previously.
Once the energy reaches fever pitch, a prismatic swirl of light, Frei rushes forward behind Jiro and, backfist or not, follows up the Stray Dog's attack by throwing out his hand and pelting Krizalid point blank with a massive forceblast, an invisible shockwave that ripples through the air. "Last chance to make the highlights reel!" he shouts over the din.

In spite of how it may look now, Krizalid is a tough guy. He's just, really unlucky, and he can't read Jiro at all. Oh, and he's a badguy, that probably has some bearing on it too, and his primary chi isn't exactly positive energy. It's bad, seething, evil stuff, hence why the flames he's ben using here haven't been the usual crimson. They've been a dark, purplish-black hue. Sadly enough for the NESTS officer though, Frei's been the only one two feel them in this fight, and even then only slightly, because his own chi was mixed in with what he sent back at him. No, Jiro just totally avoided them, and at that, Krizalid throws his hands up.
But he isn't completely surrendering. He's just expressing his frustration, and giving up on defending himself any longer. The only thing that matters to him is hitting the blonde kid one last time before he passes out on the still-moving elevator. And since his hands are still in the air, yeah, it's gonna be with a tornado or nothing. His boot goes up, his leg swirls in front of him a few times, and then he kicks the resulting whirlwind to send it spiraling at Jiro just after being pummeled by the combined assault of Jiro's backfist and Frei's chi shockwave. Man that looked like it hurt. He's just pretending it didn't, and his suit is making up the difference for as long as it has the battery to hold up his failing body.

COMBATSYS: Krizalid has reached second wind!

The Stray Dog is not even annoyed anymore. In fact, he is admiring the fact that the man is strong enough to keep fighting. This is something that is bringing out the best in Jiro's ability. This is why the young man decides to press on in the fight, not wanting to hold back from his skills any more than he already has. So, when Krizalid is throwing his hands in the air, the Stray Dog can already tell what it is.
Once Krizalid's leg smashes the ground, Jiro immediately backs up by kicking his right leg against the ground to push him away from the incoming gust of wind. The surging power can be seen, and the young man is sensing that the man is not quite down just yet after that blow, so he is going ot make sure that he is down.
The young man sprints up towards the older man, then he takes a soaring jump into the air. With his leg extending upward, it shines with a brief glow, then he aims to slam the foot down like a guillotine at he man's head.

Krizalid's chi hasn't gone totally unnoticed, but Frei's had more pressing things to think about... like, for example, how to deal with a man who just assuredly had been dealt enough to take down even the toughest fighters and somehow just got right back up. It's the kind of situation where one can't help but be impressed... but perhaps that can come after everything's said and done. Pulling his hand up near his face, the monk holds up his index and middle fingers, then whips his hand out in an arc toward Krizalid, a deep purple crescent of energy ringed by a spark of silver flickering out of that arc toward the NESTS fighter with considerable speed. "Moon shadow!" shouts Frei, for this sort of affair is obligatory.

Krizalid is so angry right now. You don't even know. He just goes into a rage and starts stomping around and screaming obscenities at Jiro after seeing him slide just out of range of his final tornado. There's no way he can just collapse and leave it at that. If he'd have hit? Yeah, he'd probably have just taken a knee and then keeled over so the fight could be over. This is all Jiro's fault. He will hit him if it's the last thing he does. Such is that which motivates him to dodge like a mongoose and avoid both of the attacks his opponents try to finish him with. And then he starts taking deep, raspy breaths once he's made his way off to one corner, away from either of the two.

COMBATSYS: Krizalid gains composure.

Oh no he doesn't. Jiro does not like the idea of the man getting he chance to get a good breath of continuing the fight. As amusing as things have been(not really), this fight will end and Jiro will see to it. This is why the young man sprints towards Krizalid's form in a hurried pace. Building up the momentum, he aims to drive his right leg against the man's stomach, hoping to send the fighter off of the ledge.
It is funny how both Jiro and Krizalid are the most stubborn ones of the fight.

Meanwhile, Frei's just left looking puzzled. And kinda sleepy; he only had that once chance to rest at first and by then he hadn't exerted himself much unless you count blood loss. Tapping his finger against his side, he strolls -- not runs -- toward Krizalid, watching him face off with Jiro. You can almost see the red and blue auras clashing against each other, like Kirlian photography, as an outside observer.
And of course, when he thinks he's found an opening, the monk looks at Krizalid, shrugs, and tries to bop him one in the schnozz.

Ngh, Krizalid tries to throw off the trajectory of Jiro's kick at least slightly by swiping down at it with one arm, hoping to make it glance off to the side, but no dice. Things go badly, and he gets smashed back by the kid's foot, enough that his heels actually reach the edge and he is now halfway standing on air. The crowd below is all oohs and ahs, expecting him to fall at any moment and paint the concrete below with his blood. But that moment almost seems like it will never come. How the hell is he keeping his balance? It has to be the suit, right? Well whatever it is, Frei puts a stop to it by punching him in the nose and sending him back over the edge, like stacking a single measly feather on something really heavy that he's barely keeping himself from being crushed by. A huge piece of cieling that his superiors threw on him, maybe.
But even still? He reaches for Jiro at the last second, trying desperately to grab his collar, knowing he's already too far away but making the attempt probably just for dramatic effect.

COMBATSYS: Jiro fails to counter Chokeslam from Krizalid with Backlash.

This is actually an amazing turn of events. The Stray Dog finishes planting his foot towards Krizalid's chest, then he grunts with narrowed eyes. He doesn't say much except that he is watching Frei go for the feather-like finish.
...That was actually amusing. However, the Stray Dog watches the man grab at his collar and he grunts while extending his arms out to grab the arm. He misses, which is forced for him to be hold by the throat. "Eghhnn!" ...
OH GOD, IT IS THE CHOKESLAM FROM HELL!
Jiro is falling along with Krizalid... and he lands -STRAIGHT- on the ground next to Krizalid. "Agh shit!" He howls out then he rolls on his stomach, coughing up some blood. Despite of the whole mess... Jiro is still moving. Probably better off than Krizalid is.

...
...
...yeah.
Walking over to the edge, Frei basically watches Krizalid pick up Jiro and take him over the side. Ducking down by bending his knees, the monk tilts his head slightly and looks over the side down to the ground below. Well... they're not dead. At least, Jiro's not dead, and the other guy ruined a perfectly good Rag Rappy costume, so to hell with him.
A tumbleweed rolls by.
"Man," Frei says, standing up and heading over to the center of the platform to sit down as it grinds to a halt before returning back down to the ground. "Those two have some serious issues to work out."
