SNF Results Week 14 - Tue Oct 10 2006 - Valkyrie
----------------------
You guys kick ass. Seriously. For that reason I spam your eyes to a bloody pulp with the following...!
MATCH 1 : Blue Mary Ryan vs. Hinako Shijou
WINNER : Hinako Shijou (5 points to 3)
SNAPSHOT : Mary grips Hinako around the waist for her final defiant 'Dynamite Swing' while the referee, Awesome-san, looks on with what would be utter disgust - were it not for an unmistakeable note of appreciation. Many in the crowd hold similar expressions.
COMMENTS : SNF gets off to possibly the best start yet! Within moments of the show's airing, viewers flicked across from every channel as they heard tell of the earth-shaking spectacle unfolding; two women - one a dirty gaijin - slugging it out in the most esteemed sumo hall in Japan. Howard Enterprises have simultaneously managed to outrage traditional sumo wrestlers and fans, while at the same time producing a fine display of martial prowess. Sports entertainment at its finest, and Geese is pleased. In addition to their fee, letters of personal congratulation have gone out to both combatants, and another of utmost appreciation and respect has been delivered to the almighty 'Awesome-san'. (Massive props to Sean for NPC'ing said referee to hilarious effect - you rock, dude, more than mere words can express! ...*smooch*)
MATCH 2 : Sean Matsuda vs. Roberto Miura vs. Rylee Ogden
WINNER : Sean Matsuda
SNAPSHOT : A montage of various high points; Rylee skilfully evading the brunt of a dual kick/tackle attack by Sean and Roberto, Roberto catching both opponents with an impressive basketball-driven chi-splosion, and last but not least... a dramatic double shot of Rylee pitching a hockey puck and Sean, moments later, doing the same with a medicine ball.
COMMENTS : Okay, we had an unfortunate log mishap with this one. These happen. Luckily one of the spectators had a client log running so we've been able to salvage the battle. But take this as a reminder to please take extra care when logging! That said, a sturdy event all around with some neat moments. The participants might like to note that Howard Sporting Equipment was open for business immediately afterward and customers were clamouring to purchase the items used in the fight.
MATCH 3 : Adelheid Bernstein vs. Sie Kensou & Aislinn Doyle
WINNER : Adelheid Bernstein
SNAPSHOT : Adel rises into the air with striking leg exploding in silvery chi, nearing the apex of his fearsome 'Omega Genocide' technique. In the top of the frame can be seen Kensou, caught with the full brunt of the attack and carried aloft while on the ground, Aislinn appears defiant and powerful as she enters a torque-gathering spin.
COMMENTS : Bookies have lost a small fortune on this one. Two established, popular stars of SNF dropped by one relative newcomer, against the odds. Geese might be excessively amused by this result, but anybody watching couldn't help but be impressed. Adelheid can consider his audience captive for future matches, though whether they most appreciate the honourable warrior or the condescending bastard is open to debate! In addition, his pretty little face might just be adorning the next issue of Just Seventeen if he doesn't take a few more beatings. Keep going and you might make Playgirl in a few years... or should that be Playboy?
MAIN EVT : Iori Yagami vs. Alma Towazu & Sato Niesje & Mimiru Kasagi
WINNER : Japanese Cooking (and Iori Yagami, I guess!)
SNAPSHOT : A shot taken in the nick of time; a bewildered Alma glances at the knife embedded in his arm as a violently propelled yakiniku grill bears down on him. He stands in its shadow, a split-second from clearly devastating impact. Two other images are shown. In one Iori faces down a dual onslaught of shrouded kicks from Alma and Mimiru, and in the other Niesje stands defiant, halberd levelled toward Yagami through a cloud of dissipating flame. Most interestingly, the woman's upper body appears to be wrapped only in a serpentine mass of coiled chains. Sexy or odd? The viewers can decide!
COMMENTS : ...yeah, I couldn't leave out the grill. But this fight had many great moments. Fantastic stuff - perfect for an SNF main event, with huge bonus points going to the losing side, as in addition to putting up a damn sturdy battle they managed to drive Iori to an insane retreat. Any bets on how many maidens were mashed by the night's end? Awesome. You can bet the public will be clamouring for more after Niesje's debut and the purple flamer is re-established as one scary mofo. On behalf of Howard Enterprises: welcome back.
Okay, I'm done - and I assume you'll be back in G's capable hands next week. Keep it up. <3

Triumph or die!
Whether in street fighting or in midterm-taking. Hey folks, I'm sorry about falling behind on the results posting these past couple weeks. I've deprived you all of a source of great entertainment, I'm sure. XD But hopefully the matchups I've concocted will make all the difference -- and prove once and for all that /I/ am the most deserving of your love.
Fufufu!
Enjoy. >:D

SNF Results Week 15 - Wed Oct 18 2006 - Gonzales
----------------------
Hey hey, look what I cooked up! XD
MATCH 1 ~ Did Not Happen
MATCH 2 ~ Frei and Ingrid versus Sean and Aislinn in 'Team Tourism'
WINNERS: Sean Matsuda and Aislinn Doyle
SNAPSHOT: A shot from the top of the Temple of Heaven angled down at the plaza below, giving a perfect straight look at the outraged shock and alarm on Sean's face as he leans back to just barely evade a thrown chicken.
COMMENTS: Despite the bad luck suffered by our first team, the battle itself was so chock full of mighty effort that there was no way the audience couldn't appreciate it. Geese's continuing campaign to arouse interest in international fightsporting within the opening markets of China's media is proving fruitful indeed, thanks to your continued dramatic performances. Props to everyone, especially for Frei and Sean for going along with my crazy 'flashback' request. I cracked up. XD Oh, and Sean: hands to yourself, buddy.
MATCH 3 ~ Did Not Happen
MAIN EVENT ~ Geese versus Kain with Yamazaki as referee
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED: Geese and Yamazaki versus Kain and Eiji
WINNER: Geese Howard (and Ryuji Yamazaki)
SNAPSHOT: An image of Kain marching toward his nemesis with flames billowing out of his sleeves, while Geese himself awaits with arms crossed; Yamazaki lunging in as he attempts to intercept, only to find a ninja suddenly blocking his path. In the background, surrounding the cleared construction site, the audience looks stunned and amazed.
COMMENTS: Kain's willingness to submit himself to indignities for the sake of charity and Metro City's continuing growth is truly appreciated by the public. Maybe he's not such a bad guy after all.
Next week's matches will be posted in a flash! I'm gonna be mainly keeping away from the four-person fights this time, as two matches didn't go off this week and I know that large groupings can be prohibitive. Sorry about that, folks. XD I haven't had a lot of time to devote to SNF recently due to IRL, but if anything comes up, don't forget that you can always @mail me if I'm not around.
Oh yeah, and speaking of which: again, if your match doesn't go off, /please @mail me anyway/. Let me know that it didn't. No need for finger-pointing or anything, just let me know. Going sleuthing to find out why I didn't get a @mail can be timeconsuming. Just a reminder!

Enjoy. :D

SNF Results Week 16 - Thu Oct 26 2006 - Gonzales
----------------------
Hey folks, sorry about the lateness. I finally declared my second major, and I had to prepare to sign up for classes. XD I'll post this week's matchups soon. Till then, here are your results!
MATCH 1 ~ Frei vs Hinako vs Roberto in 'Water Sports'
WINNER: Roberto Miura
SNAPSHOTS: The first image is of a swimtrunks-clad Roberto being struck by an icy blast from a leaping sasquatch, the fountain spray around the soccer player turning freezing cold from the aftereffects; but in the second image civilization triumphs, as a flaming soccer ball sends the sasquatch reeling back into Hinako's waiting arms, where in moments she will plow him with devastating force right into the fountain.
COMMENTS: While the Seattle Center's insurance policy does not cover structural damage due to thrown sasquatch, Howard Enterprises is willing to front the cost of the repairs; it's only a portion of the cash they made off this wild hard-hitting matchup.
MATCH 2 ~ Karin and Ingrid vs Blue Mary with Revised Full Contact Rules
WINNERS: Karin Kanzuki and Ingrid Holmann
SNAPSHOT: Mary, momentarily turning the tables after being chipped away at for some time, evades Karin's grab attempt only to grasp Ingrid's kicking leg in a single smooth motion; the image captures Ingrid as only a blur as Mary, grasping hard onto the girl's face with her other hand, aims to plow her into the ground in preparation for a full facelock.
COMMENTS: Well, the sand thing was sweet too, but Ingrid was right. I was actually looking forward to the whole bridge battling thing. XD Hahah, no worries. Just to clarify, I throw out those images mainly because I personally find them a helpful tool to center RP around (and help make each combat unique), but nobody should feel like they, for example, can't add something they think would be cool, or delete something they think isn't. So long as they talk to the other players first, of course. >:D
MATCH 3 ~ Aislinn and Mimiru vs Kensou in 'Girl Power?'
WINNERS: Aislinn Doyle and Mimiru Kasagi
SNAPSHOT: Kensou blasting an obviously overwhelmed Mimiru back with a Psycho Powered throw, while Aislinn watches casually from the sidelines, arms crossed across her chest.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "She says she doesn't need my help or anyone else's. Why should she not have a chance to prove herself?"
COMMENTS: So cold I shivered.
...no, seriously, I was really impressed. Aislinn, Mimiru, Kensou, props for your willingness to put cool RP before all-out csys prowess. This is the sort of stuff I love to see!
MAIN EVENT ~ Did Not Happen
COMMENTS: Tragic. ;_; But given Yamazaki's computer problems, totally understandible. Kain, thanks for letting me know over @mail.
Well, uh, I hope the formatting worked out on this, given that I'm on telnet, in the library, writing my posts beforehand in an e-mail client. XD I'm like freaking Macguyver over here, man. Aight, next week's fights will be up shortly, so stay tuned!

SNF Matches: 10/26/06 - Thu Oct 26 2006 - Gonzales

IMAGE AND CURRENCY, IMAGE AS CURRENCY
Having consolidated its hold within the realm of global entertainment, Howard Enterprises' new incarnation of the Saturday Night Fights has forged itself into a capable promotion tool, and executives in HE's Fightsport division are not shy about using it. Their activities are at once image-building and self-enhancing. Even as Geese himself steps out into the ring to support the people of Metro City and the organization continually sends fighters to all corners of the world, Howard's efforts at charity only making fight entertainment more tolerable in the people's eyes, the strength of his position allows him to spotlight talented fighters that might otherwise be forgotten in favor of more famous names. SNF, while perhaps not a 'serious' tournament along the lines of King of Fighters or World Warrior, has become both a force for good in the world and a name that up and coming fighters (and old hands still waiting for their moment to shine) should be proud to associate themselves with. SNF has become self-perpetuating. The more money Geese spends on charity, the more money he seems to eventually make. In the world of sports entertainment, it seems, image itself is a kind of currency.
MATCH 1 ~ Megumi Andou VERSUS Ash Crimson
PREMISE: Charity Dinner
LOCATION: Southtown Yacht Club (Harbor)
SPECIAL: Dress Code
MATCH 2 ~ Jiro Kasagi AND Frei Tsukitomi-Renard VERSUS Krizalid
PREMISE: Rising Platform Match
LOCATION: Industrial District, Metro City
MATCH 3 ~ Sean Matsuda AND Rylee Ogden VERSUS Shen Woo
LOCATION: Buckingham Palace Outer Plaza, London, England
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Buckingham_Palace_and_Victoria_Monument_-_September_2006.jpg
MAIN EVENT ~ Sie Kensou AND Ingrid Holmann VS Shinobu Ootsuka AND Roberto Miura
PREMISE: Rising Stars
Hopefully I'll be able to send out the @mails before I gotta sign up for classes and ditch, but if not, don't you worry, I'll have plenty of time tomorrow if not tonight.
Enjoy! :D

SNF Results Week 17 - Thu Nov 2 2006 - Gonzales
----------------------
Good lord, we're at week 18 already. Have I really been doing this for a third of a year? School makes time pass too quickly. XD
Anyway, we had some really sweet results this week, so while I finalize this week's new series of matchups, check out how everything turned out!
MATCH 1 ~ Megumi versus Ash ~ Did Not Finish
MATCH 2 ~ Jiro and Frei versus Krizalid
WINNERS: Jiro Kasagi and Frei Tsukitomi-Renard
SNAPSHOTS: Two interposed images highlight Jiro's impressive performance in this match as he first blazes his way through Krizalid's reversal attempt with a mighty flaming punch, and then almost immediately after rams his arm into the caped man's throat with his signature clothesline. But the third image is the most epic of all: Jiro and Krizalid's streaking forms frozen in time a moment before Krizalid, hand clutching at the boy's throat, prepares to chokeslam Kasagi into the ground, hurtling all the way down from the terrifying height at which they were fighting. The photo is angled such that, far above, the faint form of a man in a duck suit can be seen, apparently staring down.
COMMENTS: Curiously, Jessica Alba denies being in Metro City at the time of the fight, highly confusing those who were able to obtain her autograph there.
MATCH 3 ~ Sean and Aislinn versus Shenwoo
WINNER: Shen Woo
SNAPSHOT: We tried to get a picture right at the beginning of the match as proof of Aislinn smiling, but as we only had a moment to catch it, it turned out too blurry to tell. Maybe it was just our imagination.
COMMENTS: The outstanding performance of all of our fighters -- especially with regards to Shenwoo's remarkable defensive display -- has helped further bring England into the fold of SNF-watching nations. Tune in next week for the epic contest of Sean Matsuda versus Shane Mitsubishi! Reserve your ticket today and receive a free present from Aislinn Doyle herself. (Disclaimer: If you are not Kula, Candy, or Sean, all presents will be pain.)
MAIN EVENT ~ Kensou and Ingrid versus Shinobu and Roberto
WINNER: Draw Match
SNAPSHOTS: You know, you guys should really just look for yourselves; there's too many to choose from. Instead, check out these individual shots of everyone's costumes. I, of course, think Kensou as Lupin is the cutest, but I imagine most of you will prefer Shinobu in her bunny suit. Still, there's something to be said for a girl in pinstripes, don't you think?
COMMENTS: Congratulations and thanks to everyone who participated. This fight was epic and intense as I ever hoped it'd be. XD Go Rising Stars!
Looks like we have quite an assortment this week, so let's see what I can cook up this time. Next week's matches, to be posted soon!
