SNF 2006.09 - Main Event 2! Kyo vs Vega

Description: Revel in the Kusanagi spirit! Kyo Kusanagi and the evil overlord Vega duke it out for the pleasure of the audience in a shockingly fast and brutal match as host Saishu Kusanagi and lovely assistant Megumi Andou expound on the virtues of the Kusanagi way... and what it truly means to be a warrior. (Winner: Kyo)

A solitary figure emerges from the south field-entrance tunnel, hands in his pockets, head angled slightly towards ground, not even acknowledging the throngs of fans seated above him in the stands, many of whom are chanting his name over and over again. Howard Arena would be packed to capacity for today's event, but unusually, the bottom-most rows of seating, the ones closest to the action, are vacant as a precaution by the tournament organizers.

Not that Kyo Kusanagi notices.

The young scion of the flames makes his way towards the center of the arena, trots of the stairs to the stone surface of the stage, then finally deems it neccessary to survey his surroundings: A cursory evaluation finds himself alone on stage. For somebody used to being fashionably late to events, it's a strange sight.

"Tch..." he mutters, starting to tap the toe of his boot impatiently, "-Waiting for this type of stuff really pisses me off."

The chanting resounds throughout the arena. 'Kyo! Kyo!' It continues for some time, accompanied by the waving of hands and other fighting paraphenalia, but as the moments pass and nothing happens, the enthusiasm of the audience begins to dampen. Mystery opponents are usually entertaining, to be sure, but... has he shown up yet, or what? People are starting to whisper amongst themselves--
--until a spotlight snaps into being, highlighting a decorative circular panel in the center of the arena. Which then turns out to be not so decorative, as it slides neatly away to reveal a hole, from which emanates the sound of rotating gears. "Ladies and gentlemen!" emanates the announcer's voice from the large speakers that are suspended around the arena. "Welcome to the Saturday Night Fights! And here is your host--"
The sound of turning gears finally produces a result: an elevator, upon which stands a grinning older man in a green kimono, with a pink-haired girl at his side.
"SAISHU KUSANAGI!"
Heedless of Kyo's reaction, Saishu waves wildly at the crowd as they erupt into cheers -- and possibly laughter at the expression on the younger Kusanagi's face. With a dramatic flourish, the elder Kusanagi withdraws a microphone from his sleeve and raises it to his lips. "Hello, Southtown!" he shouts merrily, beaming at the audience before offering a sweeping gesture toward Kyo. His gaze finally shifts to his son, his grin widening with an air of mischief and eyes sparkling. "Ha ha! You're all being invited to partake in a very special event tonight! My son, the successor to the esteemed and ancient Kusanagi fighting style, is taking on a new fierce opponent! Today, I and my lovely assistant Megumi Andou--" He cheerfully puts an arm around the shoulders of the girl at his side. "--are here to show you the true nature of the indomitable Kusanagi spirit! Witness the epic battle between my son, and the man known only as--"
And then, suddenly, he points dramatically off into the distance, toward a darkened corner of the arena ceiling.
"VEGA!"

The spaces are set out for a reason - Howard knows the two fighters today even if not everyone else does, and knows at least some of the chances for destruction of an area that might normally be set aside for seating. Safety's sake definitely does take priority here. The voices that scream for Kyo simply do not know the utter supriority of his opponent's power.

Vega is certain of at least that much. This exercise is simply a way to let the strongest warriors know that there is a challenger around and about - a way to overtly declare his superiority over those weaker than himself. Those fighters who could perhaps serve as his cannon fodder. It will serve another distraction, as well - those who thought him dead and gone would be reminded of his presence - and perhaps, to reinforce the concept of him being simply a mindless thug who wishes to fight, when really, he is always planning, always plotting. Always preparing. Thinking ahead, to battles yet to fight - including this one.

He listens to the prattle by Saishu, awaiting the pronouncement of his name, staring down at his opponent. A youth, compared to Vega - strong and fast, full of fire. Someone who, were he less popular, less self-assured - more prone to needing something more than his own wishes can fufill, who could be taken by Vega and molded into something more. However, this one looks too self-assured, too confident - and far too lazy to be useful.

He's ready for the announcement - ready for the crowds to be introduced again to his might and power - and perhaps a bit curious if there are those that will remember his previous time at a Saturday Night Fight - his interruption that almost cost the Bee his freedom. He doesn't bother to speak to the crowds - instead, he simply allows his power to speak for him. Dark purple energy swirls around him, making him a sillouette of psi, ghostly and insubstantial. At least until he leaps from the ceiling, using that psycho power to carry him to the arena's center, landing there with a clattering thud of his military boots. He turns towards Kyo, white eyes narrowed, and a predatory grin showing. "Are you prepared, boy? This will be an... interesting exercise, I believe."

Megumi had been in great spirits when she arrived with Saishu, playing up the spectacle of this match by acting as a mix of ring-girl and ref all in one, though it's mostly the former she goes for right now, pumping a fist in the air and trying to get an already primed crowd even more excited, then she acknowledges Kyo with a wave and calls out, "Not givin' ya any bias in your favor, just so you know..." A playful remark, and the last light-hearted thing she does, because... ...Saishu is pointing out Him. Vega.

Megumi's eyes immediately go wide, then narrow in caution as she checks out where Saishu is pointing. "He's here...?" This stuns her, as she sees Vega definitely is in attendance, and he's landing in the arena...she was here for the last time Vega was on SNF, and it was definitely not a good time. But after several moments, she regains herself and smiles. "Kyo's here...he's here...okay!" She raises a hand up high and yells "Fight!", then begins a set of backward hops to clear the arena floor and wait on the sidelines.

COMBATSYS: Kyo has started a fight here.

Saishu follows Megumi out of the center of the ring, although much less speedily. Sweeping his kimono around him dramatically, he twirls the microphone into his sleeve in a feat of dexterity and eases away, casting his son a silent thumbs-up and grinning hugely before finally making is way to the sideline -- hopefully before being hit by anything devastating.

Kusanagi isn't quite able to hold onto his usual cool, ambivalent demeanor as his father -and- his girlfriend show up in official capacity for this fight: his jaw drops a little, and after the initial shock he points an accusatory finger at the elder Kusanagi. "You crazy old man! What the hell do you think you're doing here!!" he exclaims, sounding more incredulous than angry. Hi gaze falls on Megumi for a second, but then quickly snaps back to his father, "Did you put her up to this?!" He finishes off his tirade by slapping his face with a palm.

Meanwhile Vega is doing his levitation thing, though Kyo doesn't even give his opponent a bit of attention until the guy calls him "boy." The scion of the flames' hand drops from his face, the exasperated look having vanished and been replaced by an all-business look. However, when he spies Vega his eyes go wide, "Y....You!" almost mimicing Megumi. He takes a step back in what turns out to be... mock-fright.

Kyo's trademark cocky smirk returns, his eyebrows slanting downwards, "...You're the guy who touch Athena even with some little flunky backing you up at K.O.F! Heh, after that I'm surprised you're not too embarassed to show your face in a professional fighting event."

Oho! Megumi. This should prove amusing. Another fight where the girl is a bystander, a person of interest - but perhaps more for torment and study than anything else. Vega gives the girl a look - and another fierce grin, one that should speak volumes. Something between an 'I know what you did last summer' and 'I am watching you'. However, that's all she gets - though if she is still about and around _after_ the fight, this may change.

Kyo - his real opponent. His opponent who is ... smack talking him? HIM? Leader of Shadaloo, Lord Vega himself?! He doesn't remember the fight with Athena that Kyo speaks of. He's already let it go, moved on from it. After all, that fighter was probably quite beneath his powers and unworthy of his respect. Or he just got beaten so bad that he chooses to ignore it. He turns his full attention towards the 'boy', and offers him a cold smile. Eager, perhaps - much like a lion who is stalking a particularly nice piece of prey. "That fight does not concern me - the only fight that matters is _this_ one... /boy/. Speed is something you will experience within this arena tonight!" He leaps into the attack, bringing his left hand around in a rapid swipe, aiming towards the man's temple with a psi-wreathed fist!

COMBATSYS: Vega successfully hits Kyo with Jab Punch.

Kyo's head whips to the side via Vega's psycho-powered swipe, he takes a step to steady himself by weathers the punch better than nearly anyone matched up against this monster would. "Tch, touched a nerve huh?" He cracks. Too bad Vega wasn't able to smack the smirk off Kusanagi's face with that last attack.

No reason to hold back against this guy, Kyo thinks.

So, he reflexively triggers his bloodline flame, flicking his right hand open to activate a small blaze that surrounds his fingers, then balling the hand into a fist and throwing it right at Vega's ridiculously-oversized chin. A simple hook punch made more effective by Kyo's unique powers.

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits Vega with Aragami.

Kyo              0/-------/---====|=------\-------\0             Vega

No reason to hold back, indeed! Vega is not one that would expect someone to do less than their best - and Kyo seems to be willing to do whatever he can to make this battle worthwhile. The hooked punch catches Vega in the chin, the bloodline flame of the Kusanagi Clan lighting his face up in stark relief from the relative darkness of the arena. It highlights his rictus grin, the giant smile that doesn't go away even though the pain from the impact must be immense. "Good.. very good. boy. I am.. impressed."

And then, well -Vega moves again. Not as fast, the blinding speed blunted by the hook from before - but still extremely intense in it's own right. He reaches for Kyo's shoulder, his hands glowing bright with purple energy. If the attack hits - well, Kyo will be having a psychopowered meeting with the arena floor.

COMBATSYS: Kyo counters Psycho Fall from Vega with Nue Tsumi.

Kyo              0/-------/-======|===----\-------\0             Vega

Kyo socks Vega the chin, and with his arm still extended from the Aragami punch's follow-through, it appears he's left vulnerable to being grabbed and thrown harshly to the tiled floor. The young flame-thrower realizes this as well, of course, and swiftly redirects the arm he just used to punch Vega, bringing it back across his body, leaving another trail of scorching crimson flame as he knocks away Vega's hand.

The flame-trail dissapates in a second, giving Vega another choice glimpse at Kyo's shiteating smirk, right before the "boy" plants and bashes his shoulder right into the dictator's sternum.

Megumi had given a quick grin to Kyo's reaction to her being here, even if Vega's look wipes that smile off her face as she tenses up...then relaxes seconds later; it wouldn't do to look too unsettled on TV. She nods at Saishu, then watches the fight quietly aside from a few enthused fist-pumps when Kyo strikes Vega. Megumi definitely likes that.

Ngh. Vega's eyes flare with psychopower - or pain. One of the two, possibly both. Either way, it's not a good thing - and he's not sure he's going to make a good showing here unless he picks up the pace a bit more. That smirk is starting to wear on him as well, and his annoyance shows easily on his face.

Very well! A throw has failed him, but a simple punch was enough for the boy to have to deal with - perhaps he should simply up the power even more. The lightshow around Vega dies down, the dark areas of psi fading into his body. His fists, however, are much brighter. Blazingly so. He brings one up, cocks it back to his chin, and growls in rage, preparing...

And then, his left foot comes up, chambers around, and swipes at Kyo's stomach in an attempt to crush ribs - and crush spirits.

COMBATSYS: Vega successfully hits Kyo with Strong Kick.
Glancing Blow

"Ha ha! Would you look at that, folks! That's the unbeatable Kusanagi spirit, the fierce willingness to confront any challenge undaunted. To revel in ferocity of one's opponent rather than fear it! To value victory over survival!"
Saishu is getting really pumped over here.
"This is the Way of Kusanagi!"
Hopefully he's not distracting his son... too much.

Kyo's eyes do in fact follow Vega's glowing fists, pretty much completely suckered in by the pretty lightshow surrounding those knuckles. If the Kusanagi heir was just another fighter, he'd be suffering from a few broken ribs.

But, as others (but most often Kyo himself) have remark, this boy is a genius, and that covers a lot of his mistakes, such as right now, as he is able to just barely dodge Vega's nasty kick. The steel toe of the dictator's boot still catches a bit of his stomach, nearly knocking the wind out of Kyo, but the effect is many times less than if the foot had landed squarely. "Already trying those dirty tricks?!" Kyo exclaims while reaching out for Vega's shoulder, much like the pyscho-powered monster attempted earlier.

COMBATSYS: Vega interrupts Quick Throw from Kyo with Psycho Wave.

Kyo              1/--=====/=======|====---\-------\0             Vega

"No such thing, BOY!"

Okay, so there is - in fact there are many ways that people can play dirty tricks. Misdirection and guile, however, are not such. Nor is anticipating an enemy's attack. And well, that he can do.

When Kyo reaches for him, Vega is still there - in fact, he allows the grab to his shoulders to happen, the attempted wrench of a throw being met with something else, something powerful. With the grasp and Kyo's comittment, Vega simply /explodes/ with that dark aura, blazingly hot, attempting to smash the boy's psyche and to wipe that god/damned/ smirk off his face!

Thrown backwards by Vega's amazing display of psycho power, Kyo Kusanagi ends up rolling head over heels to a halt near the edge of the tiled arena floor, a few plumes of smoke rising from his body. He's still for a moment.

"Heh."

The scion of the flames kippups to his feet, and it's readilly apparent that despite Vega's best efforts, he hasn't been able to wipe the smirk off of Kyo's face just yet. "If you keep up with that 'boy' stuff I'll really start getting pissed off! I'd suggest you remember my name, because you're gonna need it to beg me for mercy at the end of this match!!!"

He briefly crouches, then springs off his legs high into the air, performing a long, arcing jump towards Vega while whirling one leg above his head. Thus the name: Rainbow. Energy. Dynamite. Kick(uu).

COMBATSYS: Vega blocks Kyo's RED Kick.

Kyo              0/-------/-======|=====--\-------\0             Vega

Vega waits, impassive as Kyo collects himself, and returns to his feet. The Lord of Shadaloo stands tall as Kyo approaches, and speaks so boldly. When that leap comes up, Vega raises one meaty fist upwards, to block the incoming leg with a hollow thud of body against body, the force of the impact pushing him backwards a half step, and down to one knee.

Or was that intentional? This low, Vega's hands are at target level for quite a few things. His nonblocking arm comes up, and he attempts what some might call a throw - though this is a throw only due to the fact that he's attempting to toss Kyo by chopping his non-blocking hand at the inside of Kusanagi's knee. Much like Daniel's opponent, Vega knows when to 'sweep the leg'. "It would be a shame to upset you... boy! Fight harder!"

COMBATSYS: Kyo blocks Vega's Medium Throw.

This exchange of blows from the two fighters is defended by both sides: Vega throws up an arm to blunt the impact of Kyo's RED Kick, then Kyo lands and drops into a crouch, protecting his legs with a forearm. Vega's chop strikes Kyo's hardened forearm with a dull thud.

Not sparing the time for a quip this time, Kyo rises from his crouch, and attempt to take Vega with him, via an uppercut placed under, once again, the dictator's chin.

COMBATSYS: Vega endures Kyo's Strong Punch.

The crowd really must not be able to see much at all through this battle. With both opponents showing blazing light of purple and red, the war is more a duel of color and sound, explosions and fury instead of fists and feet. There is a rocking noise, a crunch of thunder as bone impacts bone, Vega's body lifted up and thrown back by the impact of Kyo's uppercut to his chin. He sails backwards, the aura around his body fitfully dying, sparking out as if a switch were turned off.

Or perhaps, with the subtlety of a space shuttle readjusting it's orbit. The small flareups twist him as he spirals back, letting him land in a crouch a few feet away. The distance gives him what he truly needs, an extra space to prepare and force his power to the surface. As he gathers that dark aura within him, he stands and charges forwards, towards Kyo. Two steps in, he leaps out, his arms extended towards his opponent. That aura he weilds explodes from his hands, a torpedo of psychic energy, with Vega being the catalyst behind it. Something deadly, full of anger, hate - and certainty of a power that cannot be denied. His power! PSYCHOPOWER!

COMBATSYS: Kyo endures Vega's Psycho Torpedo.

Kyo              1/--=====/=======|=======\=------\1             Vega

Kyo lowers his arm after the thunderous uppercut, staring confidently at Vega as the warlord flies backwards. He immediately senses something is up, especially when 'that' power starts to visibly grow within Vega. "Tch..." Kyo gets back into his ready position, gloved fists held up in front of his face. Sure enough, Vega charges right at the young flame-wielder like a human comet.

And as the younger Kusanagi's vision is increasingly taken up by Vega barreling straight at him in a swirling mass of Psycho Power,he recollects something Saishu said earlier in the match...

"That's the unbeatable Kusanagi spirit, the fierce willingness to confront any challenge undaunted. To revel in ferocity of one's opponent rather than fear it! To value victory over survival!"

Kyo flashes a faint smirk, "Hrmpf. Victory over survival... crazy old man," he mutters. Then, to Vega: "LET'S SEE HOW POWERFUL THAT SHIT /REALLY/ IS!!!" A huge aura of flame bursts up around Kyo's body, and the two 'human torches' are pitted against each other. Aura versus Aura. Power versus power.

Predictably, Kyo is thrown back again, Vega's torpedo attack burning through his shirt to create a large wound on the boy's chest. "Unnngh..." he gurgles, on one knee. "C-crazy old man..." he reiterates, while standing slowly.

Vega shoots by Kyo on his way to the other side of the arena proper, giving the scion a slight moment of opportunity while Vega lands and turns to face Kyo again.

Producing a small flame in his right palm, Kyo raises it over his head, the fire now growing, slithering over the rest of his hand, then his arm, then his entire body. "Haaaaaaaahhh!!!" Kyo exclaims, opening the floodgates that connect him with his family's mysterious, ancient source of unearthly power.

Once he's gathered up enough of that power, Kyo shows Vega why one of his less-frequently used nicknames is "Metropolis of The Dragon-Slayer," sweeping the hand held over his head in front of him, unleashing what can only be described as a hellish, swirling wave of serpentine flames.

"EAT THIS!!"

COMBATSYS: Kyo successfully hits Vega with Orochinagi'.

Kyo              0/-------/------=|=======\====---\1             Vega

Kyo observes his handiwork, and uses the hand he just used to blast Vega to shake a finger at the dictator, mockingly.

"Heh heh... moetaro?"

"YES!"
Saishu had been standing quietly by the sidelines since his last outburst, just standing, grinning, with his arms crossed and a mysterious but decidedly merry look in his eye. Not even the hits his son takes seem to faze him in the slightest.
But when Kyo just collides into that torpedo attack and unleashes hell upon his opponent, Saishu thrusts his fists into the air and roars, almost in unison with his son's own battle cry. "Ha ha ha ha ha!" Laughing loudly, swelling with pride, Saishu crosses his arms again and grins widely at the world.
"I guess," he says softly to himself, words that only Megumi might hear, "I don't have much left to teach him now."
No matter what happens next, there's already a winner of this match.

Mystical flames. Ancient family power. These are things that Vega doesn't understand. He _worked_ for his abilities, he killed parts of his soul to perfect them, and killed many more people to hone them to the level they are at today. That level, that peak of perfection - is not enough.

Not nearly enough.

The explosion that wraps around him is far too expansive to block, and the flames that lick at his skin and burn his cloak to tatters are too fast to escape from. Vega dissappears into the inferno - and when it dies down - he is no longer there. That taunt? It's given to empty air. Where is the dictator, one might ask? Where _is_ Vega, Lord of Shadaloo and Mister 'Apparently not fast enough to get out of the way'? Why, he's simply vanished. At least, for the moment. He reappears on one of the ring ropes in a small explosion of dark energy - his body torn and bloodied, beaten and burned.. but he still stands. his eyes are pale now, the power that serves him so well having almost left him with the punishment he's taken. A fight like this - something to be amazed by. A challenge he was _not_ prepared for, _not_ expecting... and an opponent that is much more formidable than one might expect. He does not speak to the cheering crowd, the people that yell Kyo's name - no, he simply uses what power he has left to speak to Kyo's mind directly, giving him the honor of being addressed mind-to-mind.

"You are a formidable warrior... Kusanagi Kyo. We _will_ meet again. Until then - something to remember me by." Around Vega, he summons all the last of his power, every last ounce of that evil aura - and just lets it grow and explode into a veritable bullet - sending him rocketing towards the young man, intending to end this fight with honor - to end this fight with both men unable to continue.

"FINAL... PSYCHO... CRUSHER!!!"

COMBATSYS: Vega can no longer fight.

COMBATSYS: Kyo dodges Vega's Final Psycho Crusher.

[                     \\\\\\\\\  <

Despite his taunt, Kyo is obviously pretty beat up. As soon as he's done wagging his finger, that hand moves to his chest, covering the wound inflicted by the Psycho Torpedo. He waits for the smoke and flames to die down, and for a second it appears as though he's actually burned Vega into nothing but ash.

No such luck.

"You bastard!" He grimaces as soon as Vega's voice rings out, and whips around to face his opponent. By the time he's able to do this, the Pyscho-powered dictator is nearly upon him with a much BIGGER psycho torpedo. He won't be able to just stand his ground against this one. Fortunately the speed of the Final Pyscho Crusher is severely impaired, actually making it far easier to avoid that the first torpedo attack: Kyo leaps to the aside, and Vega just rockets past him.

Damn!

In the end, Vega has to console himself with this - losing to a stronger fighter only gives him a new choice of training partners. He's gotten soft on beating up on his cronies - he's been weak with an attempt to learn only from those he's beaten before. Maybe, in the end - this battle would be worth it. Vor all his bluster and all his easy rage towards the loss, Vega is _not_ a stupid man. He knows where his new weaknesses are, and he will address them. When he does, well - the next battle will be different, and perhaps much more brutal.

He lands at the other edge of the arena, looking towards Kyo - then up towards the announce and his 'assistant'. He calls out towards them loudly, doing his best to let the crowd think he could still fight, when truth be told, he has next to nothing left. "This battle is over. This boy... This Kusanagi Kyo is a valiant warrior. Let the victory be his!" See? SEE? Vega can be magnamonious, kind and gentle. or at least, he can have that veneer as he sulks and plots and prepares to wipe the floor with the BOY again some other time. Without another word, well - Vega fades into purple lines, a spark of that aura, and then gone - with that, the arena may seem a bit lighter, a bit more friendly, cheerful. It would seem the Shadaloo lord has taken his exit.

Exhale.

Kyo stands, the winner of this main event, and in the first bit of acknowledgement to all the raving fans in the stands, he raises a fist high above his head, "Ore no... kachi da!" His signature victory quote.

With that done, he shoves his hands into his pockets and starts over towards Saishu and Megumi, but pauses in mid-step to stare at the place where just Vega vanished, and starts speaking, whether or not Vega is actually here anymore or not. Maybe his words will carry on the wind. "Hrmpf. I shouldn't have held back my flames on you, since you just finally remembered my name..." The scion of the flames smirks once more, "..to be honest with you though I don't give a damn if you remember my name, or my family. But, whatever you do, don't forget the pain of my flames."

COMBATSYS: Kyo has ended the fight here.

Megumi has mostly kept to the sidelines, since no amount of crowd-play from her is going to top the world-class...brutal beating going on between Kyo and Vega. But when Kyo blasts Vega with a wave of fire, she openly cheers. To Saishu, she nods. "I'm not sure what all he's been taught, but it's working." Then Megumi winces when she sees what Vega's preparing to do... ...and pumps another fist in the air when Kyo gets out of the way. She's about to jump in and announce the obvious result of the match, when...Vega approaches. She assumes the worst, snapping into her typical Aikido stance and thinking of how best to attack.

Then Vega makes it clear he's not going to start any extra trouble, by calling out the winner himself before vanishing. Megumi waits a few seconds to make sure Vega's gone, then hops onto the arena floor to meet Kyo half-way and point him out with a raised palm. "Winner, Kyo!" Just to make it official, it would seem. But she looks very pleased with the outcome regardless.

Kyo trudges towards Megumi and Saishu with his hands shoved in his pockets, and, noting Megumi's strange reaction to Vega, asks her with no small amount of sarcasm, "Ex-Boyfriend?" He smirks, quickly adding, "-Nevermind. Hey, hold on a sec..." He holds up a finger, then turns to speak quietly with his beloved, respected father and sensei, using only the most polite language:

"VICTORY OVER SURVIVAL!? WHAT THE HELL KINDA FIGHTING STRATEGY IS THAT?!" He throws up his hands, "You're trying to get me killed out there you senile old bastard!" He says, poking at Saishu's chest.

Nevermind the fact that it's probably what brought Kyo the victory.

Saishu just stands grinning with arms crossed, as Vega vanishes, as Megumi announces the winner, and as Kyo begins shouting. Enduring the poking with great aplomb, Saishu's eyes sparkle. "Ha ha!" he barks. "Nonsense! I was merely encouraging you to incorporate my own tactical knowledge into your usual fighting style! You clearly utilized it to great effect!"
The wildly cheering crowd surrounding them, father's eyes meet son's, and Saishu's grin softens, just for a moment, into a genuine smile.
"Well done, Kyo."

Megumi winces after Kyo's remark, "No..." She's not taking Vega's presence with quite the same humor Kyo did, and adds quietly enough that hopefully the cameras won't pick up: "I'll tell you about him later." Then she's right back into hype-mode, cheering and making wild gestures to try and keep the crowd going -- not that they need much with how decisive an end that fight had. Then she eventually drops the routine, hopping over to join the Kusanagi pair and nodding a few times. "What he said. That was pretty good, y'know."

Kyo blinks at his father's smile, caught off-guard for a few moments before tearing his eyes away, suddenly looking very interested in the ground by his side, "Tch, don't get all weird on me..." he murmurs, though his fidgeting indicates he's obviously pleased by his father's approval.

"Ha ha ha ha!"
Wrapping his arms around the shoulders of the two youngins, Saishu Kusanagi grins widely and begins to, well, drag them away. "Come on, kids! Forget this place! I'll get you some push-pops!" Not that Megumi is exactly dressed for an outing, but.
It's certainly a photogenic shot, if nothing else. The victorious Kyo pulled off balance by his unrelenting father, Megumi dragged along for the ride, and Saishu--
Saishu is smiling with a look of surprisingly serenity.
Who can fathom the feelings of a father seeing his son fulfill everything he's ever dreamed of?
