Standing on the backs of the river, Shinobu crouches down, doing her pre-fight stretches. As she rises, she takes off her head, holding it to her chest as she looks across the water. A fortitious place for her to fight, at least... for what it's worth. Looking over her shoulder, she yawns, swinging her arms impatiently as she looks around. Sunlight glints off the water behind her in a line of ripples, and a couple of local cranes keep an eye on her.
Despite the fact that the setting for this match almost certainly makes it a bad idea, Kain arrives for the fight dressed in his usual white suit. Which will probably be wet and muddy by the end of this event, but that's okay. He can certainly afford a replacement. As for the fight itself... Kain has fought Kensou fairly recently, so he's got a good idea of what to watch out for. He may not have in-depth knowledge of Psycho Power (and really, how many people do?) but he knows enough to know that it's not the chi he's used to, and that makes it both dangerous and intriguing. As for Shinobu... He's aware that Grant had some interest in her, so she must have some skill, but he didn't really pay all that much attention to her training.
Standing a bit back from the edge of the river, where the ground is mostly dry and solid, Kain patiently waits for the fight to start. No need for stretching and warming up for him; he's more than ready to throw down.
It's kind of a weird place to have a fight, don't you think? At least fighting in the mountains of China made sense, but... Oh well. Kensou is here, and he's pumped, and he's totally ready! Just as soon as he finishes his pre-fight snack, which is chocolate chip cookies. The chewy kind. It's not like Kensou is unsympathetic to the whole 'there's lots of people starving in India' thing, having grown up in poverty himself, but... He can't help it! It's all his metabolism's fault.
But, since Kain is here too, it looks like Kensou's going to have to go and get ready. So he stuffs the rest of his cookies into his mouth, crumbs all about, and dusts off his hands as he walks towards where the fight is at least supposed to /start/! "Mrrf mrmp mff'l mr mrmlm mrrpl!" he declares unintelligibly to Kain, because his mouth is full. And he gets more crumbs everywhere, too. But he's not going to waste any, because hey - there's kids starving in China!
Looking to Kensou, Shinobu blinks in surprise. "You ate them all?" She pouts, hunching a little before turning to Kain. "Aw, not you...", she says, still looking sad. "Man, just another guy that uses fire. Bor-ing.", she states simply, and rubs her neck before jerking it to make a pop. Then, she swings her arm about for a moment, making a fist as she holds it up in a gesture of challenge. "But - whatever, let's get this guy beat, okay?", she says with a cheery grin.

Kain takes a brief moment to look up and down the river bank, judging the state of the ground along it. It would be good to know where the mud begins, to avoid slipping and falling over. Both embarassing and a tactical problem. "I'm sure this is the first time I've heard fire referred to as 'boring'... But if you'd prefer to be bested by another form of energy, I suppose I can oblige."
Kain holds up his hand for a moment, and rather than bursting into flames it simply glows with a shifting blue aura. Glancing over at the SNF staff, he uses that hand to gesture toward Shinobu and Kensou. "You've had more than enough time to get yourselves set up. Hurry up so we can get this started."

Finishing all those cookies, Kensou rubs his mouth with the back of one gloved hand. Okay, there, /now/ he's ready. "Tch, a confident guy, ain'tcha?" he says, knowing full well that Kain has every /reason/ to be confident... But Kensou's not the sort to write a situation off as hopeless. "But if you're in such a hurry...!" Uh oh, we can all see where this is going.
Taking off right at Kain, and forcing the crew to catch up and officially call the start of the match, Kensou crouches for just a split second and then springs forward in an almost completely horizontal leap at the white-clad fighter, extending his left elbow and knee in a simultaneous strike. "Yo-!!" If that hits, then he twists sharply at the hip to bring his other knee to bear. "Yaa-!!" And /then/, if all goes as planned, he keeps right on twisting, spinning full around to deliber a roundhouse heel kick with his left leg, at the side of Kain's head! "Hyaa-!!"

Eyeing Kain, Shinobu says, "Don't act like you know everything... your sensei sure didn't.", with a frown. And then, she rushes forward, leaning forward as she rushes - and then trips on her skirt. "WaAaAaA!"
As she falls, though, she manages to roll forward, and then explodes from her crouching position, lashing out with a flying kick reminiscent of many kung fu movies. "Shinobu-", she calls out, before then she flips over just before she reaches Kain, bringing down her opposite leg with a swift motion. "- Kick!"

Kain swings one arm up to deal with the flying kick from Shinobu, and the other arm down to deflect Kensou's attack. That's the plan, anyway. It works with Shinobu, but Kensou manages to get his eblow in past Kain's guard, then succeeds in the followup with his knee, and that opens Kain up for a kick to the head which strikes him right in the temple, causing him to stagger to one side for a moment.
Even as he's staggering, though, Kain starts shifting his weight and twisting his body around. He quickly completes a full circle, using the momentum of his spin to launch himself at Kensou. He snaps out with his right leg, aiming to drive a kick into the younger fighter's stomach; a kick followed by an explosion of that 'boring' purple flame.

Honestly, Kensou dosn't think purple flame is 'boring'. It's actually pretty neat, but it'd be neater if it wasn't being used on him specifically. Since his attack strikes home - and so awesomely, too! - he's about ready to celebrate, but then there's a kick aimed his way, and that's never a good thing, you know? He grunts as Kain's kick hits his crossed forearms rather than his stomach like it was supposed to, deflecting the worst of the damage... And the ensuing explosion of flamey chi sends him flying back, but it's a controlled flight, wherein he flips and lands on his feet, skidding along the bank a little.
"Hehehehe, not quite!" he calls out, while thinking to himself: Ow, damn. Ow. But Kensou's still totally in this fight! Which is why he brings his hands up in front of his face, gathering energy quickly, forcing it together. Within a split-second, the crouching Psycho Soldier swings his hands /out/, creating a sphere of crackling blue-tinged white energy that hurtles right at Kain! "Choukyuudan!!"
As she lands, Shinobu waits for Kain's attack... and then tries to follow up with her own blow before Kain recover. Hopping up slightly, she swings her left arm back, swinging it about before then unleashing a flurry of strikes at the older fighter. "Yayayayaya!", she rapidly kiais, trying to barrage with a flurry of unaimed, undisciplined... but super-fast strikes. Hopefully, even if she doesn't manage to get a strike past his guard, she might still at least keep him busy for her part-time partner.

Now that he's back on his feet and getting into the flow of the fight, Kain is a bit harder to take by surprise. He moves casually with Shinobu's punches, moving out of the direct path of some of the blows, and deflecting others with his right arm. If it was both arms, Kensou would be a problem, since there is that energy sphere to worry about.
But since Kain has a hand free, he's able to point that hand toward Kensou's ball of psycho power, and launch a gout of purple fire which slices right through the center of Kensou's attack, causing it to destabalize and harmlessly dissipate. The flame, meanwhile, continues merrily along the path leading right back to Kensou.
Admist the crowd watching the Saturday Night Fight, there is one person who can trace he hatred stemming from a man, as in a sense, the chi is tainted by the scars as well. The Stray Dog is mixed in the crowd, watching the fight with bated breath. Along his shoulder is a white cat, purring while the youth watches Kain.

Welcome to hurtyville, population: Kensou. This is probably what he gets for landing such a lucky shot at the start of the match, his eyes widening as his Psycho Power projectile is overwhemed and that flame comes at him, the surprise keeping him rooted to the spot until it's too late to dodge, even though he tries. "Argh!" yells the psion, who gets blasted back again and hits the ground rolling. And then the mud rolling. Ewww.
Getting back up, the now muddy Psycho Soldier considers his actions. Obviously, just blindly attacking Kain isn't going to yield positive results... And of course, the best way to think is to eat, right? ...Wait, wasn't he just eating cookies a minute ago? Anyway, Kensou reaches behind his back, producing a meatbun from nowhere: It's piping hot, and /not in the least bit muddy/ so there's no way it could've been on his person... Right? But such debate is ultimately meaningless, as Kensou proceeds to eat said meatbun.
"Hey!", pouts Shinobu again for a moment. "... I should be fighting you for those.", she complains to Kensou, but then, not even looking to Kain, she steps towards him. Taking back her right hand, she swings without looking, turning to face the other fighter at the last moment as she unleashes a surprisingly plain right hook, apparently looking to make sure his attention turns to her. It's telegraphed a mile away, but it speeds up with the swing, moving faster than one might think. Playing 'monkey on the back' has worked up until now, but... she hopes to get noticed this time around.

Kain is well aware of Shinobu's approach... And although while he's eating seems like a good time to go after Kensou, he's not just going to leave Shinobu to freely attack him from behind. So when Shinobu strikes at him, Kain suddenly spins around, unleashing a swinging backfist aimed to smash into the side of Shinobu's head. A fate which she avoids by virtue of being short, and slightly faster than Kain calculated. She manages to land her blow first, which is enough to throw off Kain's aim and cause his hand to whiff harmlessly over her head. This means she gets to follow all the way through with her attack, causing enough of an impact to force Kain back a few steps as he tries to recover from his botched attack.

There is a grin and a cheer coming from the Stray Dog when he sees that Shinobu socks Kain good. Through the crowd, Jiro calls out, "Take that!" He just continues watching, keeping himself blended the best he can.
DELICIOUS! Kensou finishes his meat bun, and... Does a happy little dance, right there, despite the mud. Weirdo. "OKAY!! Now it's time to get SERIOUS!!" he shouts all the way over at Kain, and he points right at him too. POINT. That said, Kensou often makes this declaration, and it's not always true. Or helpful. But... It makes him feel better, so shut it.
While Kain is recovering from his failed attempt to deal with Shinobu, Kensou dashes towards the two of them, slipping a little in the muddy riverbank but it doesn't stop him; he just keeps right on going, finally getting close enough to leap into the air at Kain, one leg thrust forward in a jumping kick. "Yaa-!!"
Blinking, Shinobu looks at her fist for a moment, as if wondering just how it did what it did. Well, crazy surprises are the Shinobu secret, even if she catches herself off guard sometimes. Eyeing Kain, she grins, showing her pearly whites, and then says, "Toldja!"
Then, she suddenly crouches quickly, trying to slam down a punch on Kain's foot, and cease his backpedalling forcefully... perhaps enough to actually slow him down for Kensou. Hey, she dares to dream...

Kain's evasion of Shinobu's attack is pretty simple... He slides his foot back a bit, letting the girl drive her fist into the mud. Getting out of Kensou's way doesn't prove to be quite as simple, however. Kensou's foot slams into Kain, causing him to rock back for a moment, but it's not quite enough to take him off his feet.
Hopefully before Kensou can withdraw his foot, Kain reaches out with both hands in an attempt to grasp Kensou by the leg. Should he succeed, flame quickly begins racing up the trapped limb to engulf Kensou's entire body, as Kain gives a full-armed swing to send Kensou crashing into a stand of mangroves. He's getting a little tired of being ganged up on, so he should at least make his opponents work if they want to stay at close range.

Indeed, Kensou gets grabbed by the leg, and victimised with flames, and then flung into the stand of mangroves. All of these things add up to one thing in particular: Hurty. "Uwaaaa!!" he exclaims as he crashes into the stand of mangroves, and this really leads him to wonder, 'now what'? Grunting a little bit, the Psycho Soldier manages to extricate himself from his current situation, and for a moment just... Watches Kain. Shinobu seems to be having better luck against the guy than Kensou is anyway, so Kensou is left to try and relax and get his head back into the game.

Shinobu might normally take a moment to try and focus herself, but right now... well, that's just not an option. She's gotta keep on Kain like fry on rice, at least until Kensou gets his bearings. Stepping forward, she throws out a straight punch before following it up with her foot, kicking out in rapid succession after the first blow. Looks like she's holding back some... probably waiting to unleash her bigger attacks.
One can see Jiro swear at the fight's results so far. Rubbing his head, Jiro looks forward and shouts, "Damnit, kick his ass!" Just seeing Kain defeated would be enough to make Jiro's day. He shouts towards Kensou and Shinobu, "You guys can do it!" Sadly, he might be drowned out by the other cheers from the crowd.

Kain has remarkably good hearing, in fact. Luckily for Jiro, however, Kain isn't one to do petty things in the middle of a match. He's just going to concentrate on the matter at hand. Which at the moment is principally Shinobu. This time Kain simply brushes her arm aside as she throws her punch at him, throwing off her attack. He quickly follows up with a kick of his own, his right leg snapping upward at a sharp angle to slam into Shinobu's chest and launch her into the air. And if the force of that alone wasn't enough, the fiery explosion probably makes it so. He follows it up with a blast of fire from one hand, although he doesn't leap into the air to do so; the footing here is treacherous enough as it is.

Closing his eyes for a moment, Kensou lets out a slow breath; he's really trying to remember his training, here. But sometimes it's hard, because he stopped paying attention halfway through a lot of his lessons.... Or Chin passed out. Dashing towards Kain again, the teenaged martial artist steels himself, and tries to get behind the white-clad man, to thrust a hand out at his back, bracing that arm with his other hand at the shoulder; if he gets a hand on Kain like he wants to, well, then he unleashes a sudden burst of Psycho Power, with probably enough force to blast Kain right off his feet! "Haa--!!"
Raising her arms in a block, Shinobu's knocked up into the air, but she balls up, flying away and rolling back up to her feet as she takes it all rather well. She's still clearly burnt and battered, but she does not fall yet. As she rises, she focuses her palms together, her dress fluttering with chi as she cries out, "Haaaaaah!", sliding out into horse stance, and hoping Kensou can carry the fight for the moment.

Kain twists in an attempt to pull himself away from Kensou's hand, but he's not quite quick enough. The blast of Psycho Power sends him sprawling into the mud and beyond, a good few feet into the waters of the river. At least that cleans him off. ...Slightly.
Getting back to his feet, Kain cracks his neck and flexes the fingers of his right hand before he forms a fist. Drawing his right arm back, he looks up at Kensou. The ripples in the water despite the fact that Kain's legs aren't moving are the only warning before he swings his fist forward and a massive column of blue chi shoots out in line with his arm, aiming a hammer blow at Kensou with a wall of chi that's nearly as big as he is. The backlash of the force causes the water behind Kain to rush away from him in waves, although it quickly settles back down as the river continues to folow.

Yeah. YEAH!! Kensou actually looks pretty surprised that his attack hit Kain, and... Oh, he got muddy, that's... Probably not going to make the white-suited fighter very happy, huh? But Kensou isn't caught offguard by this particular blast of chi, gritting his teeth as it strikes his guard, his own energy pushing back against the wall of force - it's much too large for a normal 'block', but he manages to avoid the brunt of the damage, though it still hurts like crazy.
Still, Kensou's knocked back a fair distance by it, and the lingering pain is kind of distracting, too; so Kensou crouches a little bit in his stance, focusing on his internal reserves of Psycho Power, drawing on that energy, little flares of it whirling around him. Could be he's getting ready for something big, by the looks of it...

And then, Shinobu leaps into the air, apparently aiming to try and just tackle Kain from above. It's not the most subtle move, but it's got momentum on its side... and maybe a little surprise. Really, though, she's just trying to get the Man In White a little out of sorts, so that Kensou can open whatever can he's fiddling with at the moment.

Kensou does certainly seem to be planning something, and Kain doesn't want to be distracted from it. When Shinobu leaps at him, he simply darts a few steps toward Kensou, leaving the girl with nothing but mud beneath her. She'll be dealt with, in time... But for now, Kensou has been identified as the greater threat. And rather than leave him to simply launch his next move unopposed, Kain whips both of his arms toward the Psycho Soldier, sending a pair of purple fireballs streaking toward him. They spiral around one another as they close in and Kensou, looking to make a nice explosion when they connect.

The Stray Dog keeps a sharp eye at the fight. He grits his teeth before swinging his fist don, "Damnit!" He sighs, then he keep his eyes focused, looking towards Kain and over towards Kensou, with a huge wince on his face. "Damn..."
His eyes focus on Kain, staring at him until it turns into a cold glare.
"Uh oh," says Kensou, as he tries to get his arms in the way of Kain's most recent assault but... Not so much! Instead, he gets a-blasted by the explosion, which knocks him back off his feet again and onto the ground. "Guh!" Yeah... That hurt. But he's not quite out yet. Sitting back up, he shakes his head to try and clear it, looking pretty much like hell. He's almost out, it's true; though there's a few things he can do to stave it off for now. Once again, he reaches behind his back, and once again, he's got... A meatbun? Is there somebody handing them to him? IT IS A MYSTERY. This time though, he looks very serious and determined while he eats it. Also, in pain. Owie.
Splatting down, Shinobu picks herself up, shimmying as she looks after Kensou. Kain's tactic is obvious, but her ability to counter it seems to be lacking. So, time to try something a little... risky. Gathering up her chi in a palm, water flows from the mud and shore into her hand, flickering into a small bubble. And then, pulling back like a baseball pitcher, she whips the bubble at Kain. It wobbles a little from side to side as it travels towards the other fighter, belying the geyser of explosive chi within. "Take this!", she calls out, waiting to see the fate of her missle.

With Kensou on the ropes, Kain isn't going to let anything get in his way. He'll make the kid choke on that meatbun of his. He begins walking toward Kensou, quickly picking up the pace as he goes. When Shinobu's bubble wobbles into range he doesn't even break his stride, he simply reaches out and crushes it in his hand. There's a bright blue glow around his fist for a moment... then nothing. By the way he shakes his hand out afterwards it must have stung a bit, but that's about it.
As soon as Kain gets close enough, he lashes out with a straight kick to Kensou's face, an aura of chi around his foot enhancing the blow. This may or may not interfere with Kensou's ability to eat, depending on just how quickly he manages to polish off that meatbun.

Why, it almost seems like you can see Kensou's injuries vanish before your very eyes, after he eats the bun; actually, that's because it's exactly what happens. Kensou is visibly healed by the foodstuff, and just in time too, because Kain is trying to bring him a big boot to the gut, and he doesn't like that idea at /all/.
So Kensou has a counter-offer; he slides past Kain's kick, getting clipped in the head and feeling the searing pain from the other man's chi, and touches him with one open hand. Kain knows exactly what follows, because it's happened before: Kensou unleashes another blast of Psycho Power to toss the man away, if not without harm. "Don't underestimate me!" he cries at the moment of his attack, because these things need emphasis.
Shinobu rushes at Kain in the way of her detonation, leaving footprints behind her in the muddy earth. Rather than let Kain get tossed away by Kensou's attack, she tries to help him retain his balance... by batting him in the opposite direction. She swings her arm forward in an overextended straight punch, actually leaning into the blow as she does so as she cries out with a, "WaiTA!", trying to give Kensou one more breathing moment. It's unlikely that Kain will turn away from the threat Kensou represents... which just might let her do some damage.

On the plus side, Kain does get stopped in his flight by Shinobu's punch. On the down side... Yeah, getting punched. He quickly staggers away from Shinobu, digging a furrow in the mud as he plants his feet to gain his balance. Okay... Time to pull out the big guns. He's getting pretty battered at this point, but no matter... If he can just put Kensou down, he's still got a chance!
That aura of blue chi surrounds Kain once again, then begins to rapidly spark off, sending little flashes of chi off into the sky. Except they don't break down and fade away... They just hover, quickly filling up a wide area, dancing around wildly, in a pattern that close observation shows is centered on Kensou. Then they all suddenly stop dead, just a moment before Kain clenches his fist and they all blast in toward Kensou, slamming together into a whirling maelstrom of chi centered on the Psycho Soldier.

Whirling maelstroms of chi are, as a rule, not good for your health. Kensou would prefer to not be hit by one, all things considered! So, he listens to his heart, and he does the first thing that comes to mind: He jumps over it. Tucking in a little and flipping in the air, the Psycho Soldier gathers energy as he falls towards Kain, thrusting out both palms, a brief glow of blue light flashing in his eyes. "EAT THIS!!" Kensou shouts, and anybody who's seen Kensou fight ever can probably guess what happens next: In front of his hands, there suddenly appears a huge, hellacious sphere of pure white Psycho Power, an enormous amount of energy seeking to destroy anything and everything in its area, which, Kensou hopes, should be enough to put Kain out of the battle for good.
She may be the fighting equivalent of chopped liver tonight, but that doesn't make her safe to me around! Shinobu keeps up on Kain's other side, throwing out punch after punch... well, more like flailing at his back while he tries to take Kensou down. And it is flailing, as Shinobu abandons all pretense of technique in exchange for raw spirit translating into knuckles. "Yayayaya!", she cries, doing her part for the fight against the fascists! Or fascist, singular. Well, he's German, anyway.

Okay... Kain's been getting beaten around a bit here, and it is time for that to /end/. He's aware of the kinds of massive blasts that Kensou can pull off, and he knows that he can't defend against them as well as he can against regular chi attacks. At least, not if they hit him. So, the solution?
As Kensou is charging up his attack, and Shinobu is charging in from behind, Kain drops to his knees, slamming both of his hands down against the muddy ground. As the Senki Hakkei comes into being, there's a sudden and ominous rumble from the river's bank. And then the world explodes.
At least, that's what it looks like. Waves of mud and rock and water shoot up into the air, engulfing everything in the area, simply washing away Shinobu's attack and eating up Kensou's psycho power as it vaporizes mud in vain. And when it all finally falls back to the ground, Kain is dirty as hell, and standing knee deep in water; the explosion actually managed to change the river's course, putting a bend in it. And he's holding one massive orb of purple fire in his right hand, which he hurls full force at Kensou. Or possibly the lump of mud which seems most likely to be Kensou.

Hey, that's totally not fair, Kain. Totally not fair. Kensou, however, doesn't have much time to point this out though, he's a little busy trying not to get hit by the man in white's crazy chi attacks... But it doesn't work out so well, and instead he gets a-blasted. "Aaaagh!!" Yeah, it hurts and he's not going to be able to keep fighting, but he's not just going to lie down and abandon his partner!
"Guess I... Still have further to go, but..." Kensou grits his teeth, muddy, burned and in pain... "Have a taste a' this anyway!!" the Psycho Soldier shouts, running at Kain and then performing a jumping uppercut - his right hand, the one doing the punching, alight with blue-tinged white Psycho Power, the energy trailing after his fist. How original of you, Sie Kensou!

Shinobu pauses as she's spattered with mud and water and grime, and then shimmies to shake much of it off. "You did good work, uh... blue jacket guy! But I can finish this!" Then, she raises her arms in a guard, throwing out some random punches with a "Hya!" and a "WaitA!" as she throws off more gunk, apparently psyching herself up. Raising her fist in challenge, she says, "You can't run from me anymore!"
Yeah, Shinobu, that's precisely what he's been doing. Running. You just keep thinking that, Shinobu.

"..." Jiro continues to watch the fight, gritting his teeth with a disappointed look in his eyes. "Damnit..." He slams his fist to his knees, glaring out at Kain, "Come on... it's all up to you, Shinobu." He tightens his fist, looking forward. While he waits for the outcome of the fight. Those eyes keep watch of Kain, focused on him with a glare.
Kain's got some adrenaline going for him, now. He's had a fair number of epic fights lately, for one reason or another... And he doesn't intend to lose this one. Wiping some mud out of his face, he spins to one side as Kensou swings at him, slipping out of the way of the blow and giving the Psycho Soldier a shove to send him crashing down into the mud. Kain can already sense his energy fading away. Barring something unusual happening, or this fight dragging on for a really, really long time, Kensou should no longer be an issue. And that just leaves Shinobu...
"Run away? I'm sorry, who was running?" As he speaks, Kain flicks his wrist toward Shinobu, sending a blast of fire zipping in her direction. Adrenaline or not, Kain's not stupid. He can still probably deal with the girl in close combat, but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to soften her up a bit, first.

Sliding back with the burst of flame, Shinobu peeks out from the smoke, her arms bundled up over her head, reddened from the chi. "Come over here and say that!", she says with a wide grin, and then brings her leg up high before slamming it down in a splat of dirt and mud, going back into horse stance with a "Haaaaaahhhh!", as she exhales loudly, her dress fluttering once more with chi. Whatever she's planning, it isn't small. At least as far as Shinobu-sized things go, anyway.

Well, it may be asking for trouble, but even Kain can't keep up rapid fire fireballs for an extended period of time. He can recharge quite quickly, but it would be best to be doing something else in the meantime, preferably beating on his opponent. And so Kain dashes up out of the water, closing the distance between himself and Shinobu. He's not going to just charge right into whatever she might be planning, though; he takes a zig-zagging approach to the girl, planning to wind it up by driving his fist right into her sternum. Just enough force to hopefully knock her off balance and open her up for a larger attack.

Smacked by the punch - she doesn't even seem to try and evade it - Shinobu doubles over with the strike. As she does so, though, her head whips forward towards Kain's, apparently on a collision course with his own chin. It may not be purposeful... but it's hurty all the same, should it hit. Whatever her plan was, this probably wasn't it... presuming she's been planning at all.

Unfortunately for Shinobu, her head doesn't quite make it to Kain's. He puts his hand in the way, simply catching her forehead as she attempts to slam it into him. All in all, it's not very dignified looking for anybody involved. That's of relatively little concern to Kain in the middle of a fight, however. What it does mean is that he's in a good position to attempt to drive a flame-wreathed knee into Shinobu's stomach, followed by snapping that leg out into a kick to ideally send her sprawling.

Shinobu gets kicked hard, buckling over again... but she doesn't fall. Instead, she looks up to Kain, looking a little dazed... before she then quickly unleashes her left-handed flurry of attacks. Just as before, she punches in a blurred, fan-shaped arc... before then suddenly following it up with her right arm. All the while, there's the cry of "Yayayayayayayaya!" as she kiais just as rapidly, pauses, and then... unloads with both fists. "Yayayayayayayaya!", she continues, throwing out perhaps a hundred or more strikes, trying with all her might just to batter Kain senseless. It's a tall order for the small fighter, but she's got a lot of power to burn.

Kain braces himself as Shinobu starts lashing out, and he takes most of the blows to his forearms, holding his ground. A few slip past, but it's not enough to actually break his guard. However, under the current circumstances Shinobu could probably keep going until she collapses to the ground, out of breath. Helpful as that would be, Kain doesn't feel like waiting.
The moment there's an opening in Shinobu's assault, Kain strikes, not bothering to see if she merely faltered or if she was actually finished. He sweeps both arms out from the defensive position, waves of flame trailing after them. The waves meet and merge, expanding outward in a rapidly growing cloud of fire which fills the space in front of Kain before quickly fading away.

Getting nailed by the attack, Shinobu burns, vanishing into the cloud of fire. Is she finished? Is this the end of Shinobu?!
Whatever her fate, though, a bubble, blue and round and wobbly, spins out of the smoke and flames. Its high rate of rotation will likely catch and spin anything caught in it, but the basketball-sized sphere of energy isn't done with that. Detonating, it becomes an enormous waterspout, flowing upwards for a moment as it spins and then quickly dissipates. It may be her last hurrah, but at least the special effects are nice.

The young man just watches the fight take a turn for the worse on how -he- wanted it. His teeth grits once more, tightening. His eyes focus up towards the man who scarred his chi, staring at him to the point of the cold glare returning. Unblinkingly, the Stray Dog just... focuses the gaze on 'that man'.
"...One of these days,"
He might be more visible now.
Kain pulls his right arm up into a defensive position as the sphere wobbles closer, blue energy surrounding the limb as he prepares for Shinobu's final assault. The geyser explodes, but the energy around Kain's arm flares up and deflects the greater part of the blast. And when Kain lowers his arm, both of his opponents are on the ground.
He pauses for a moment for this to sink in for everybody watching, then kneels down and briefly dunks his head into the river, washing off at least the worst of the mud on his head. His clothes are already ruined, so there's no point in worrying about those. Standing back up, he shakes his head once to put his hair out behind him, then begins walking off. Time to go get dry.
He very briefly glances at Jiro as he passes by. He doesn't slow down, doesn't even bother to make eye contact or change his facial expression. Just that one quick glance that says 'oh, so you're not dead', and then he simply continues on his way.
