Make way for the power of sumo! Hinako is on a bit of a roll with SNF lately. She knows it won't last forever; she's got a realistic view of her capabilities. But every victory is another demonstration of the might and grace of the wonderful sport of sumo. And even if she loses, she can still do so with dignity and poise! ...Usually. But with any luck, tonight will be another win for Miss Shijou.
As she walks into the Taiyo Dome, Hinako gets a few cheers, but they're mostly just polite, or people simply excited about the start of the fight. This isn't her school, after all, so she can't expect to get that much of a fanfare. Although there are at least a few people out there who seem to be rooting for her. And one or two hoping to get a peek up her dress. Standing in the center of the area set off for the fight, Hinako waves to the audience, beaming with excitement as she prepares for her fight. She lost against Yuri last time they fought, but surely she can turn it around this time!
"TAIIIIIIIII-YOOOOOOOOOO!"
Yuri Sakazaki is hyped up - this fight promises to be a great continuation of her SNF bouts. Sure, she lost the last one - but right now she's fighting for fun! The more fun she has in a battle, the less if it matters if she wins or loses! This fight will prove to be no exception!
Where did her shout come from, some might ask? From the bleachers - Yuri'd been hidden out in them wearing a bulky coat and pants combo. When Hinako takes her place in the stage, Yuri's up on her feet and... cheering for her opponent? The disbeliving looks and laid-back glances are soon given the patented Takuma Sakazaki Stare <tm> and she chides them most mightily!
"Tonight is the night where we both give our all! That means you as a crowd have to too! I'm counting on you to cheer for us both with /all/ your might!"
That said, she leaps from the bleachers, and runs to the arena, stripping off the jacket and pants to face Hinako in her normal fighting gear! She holds out a hand, gives the other girl a great big smile, and enthusiastically shouts, for her opponent and the crowd...
"Hinako Shijou! Let's give them a fight to remember!"

Hinako shakes Yuri's hand with a big smile on her face. "That's right! Let's show them what we've got, Yuri Sakazaki!" She then takes a few respectful steps back away from Yuri before crouching down, legs spread wide apart. She puts her hands on her knees and begins leaning to one side, lifting her lift leg way up into the air. (From somewhere in the crowd a male voice shouts, "Woooo!") Hinako then slams her foot down with an impact loud enough to be heard all throughout the dome arena. "Dosukoi! Okay Yuri, here I come!"
As she shouts, Hinako charges toward Yuri, attempting to slam full steam into the other girl and wrap her arms around her. If she can snare Yuri, Hinako will then lean back, yanking Yuri up off the floor before sending her flying up over Hinako's shoulders and into the air.

Yuri's super-excited about this fight and it shows as she bounces on the balls of her feet to loosen up. When Hinako steps forwards, the Sakazaki girl attempts to get herself out of the way first, but just isn't fast enough! As she's gripped, she puts her hands on Hinako's shoulders, waiting for the best time to act. When the hoisting and tossing happens, Yuri twists her body free, landing on the arena with a slamming sound, but she rolls up and comes right back up to her feet!
"Tumbling practice, TAIYOOOOOO STYLE!"
She throws her fists up at the arena's roof, as if challenging the heavens, then points right back at her opponent. Grinning, she starts to step towards Hinako, her fists balling up into a chambered position, and then pushing forwards from her center. Around them, orange chi forms, and then blasts out in a ball of energy!
"Ko'OU-KEN!"

Hinako quickly spins around to face Yuri, starting to charge toward her once more. She doesn't stop when she sees the orange energy building up around Yuri's hands, either. She just hunches over slightly, bringing her profile lower to the ground but without sacrificing much of her speed. When the ball of energy slams into Hinako she stumbles slightly, but she quickly rights herself and continues on toward Yuri.
As she closes in, Hinako draws back her right arm, twisting herself slightly to point her right shoulder toward Yuri. "Hyah!" Thrusting her hand forward, Hinako attempts to slam a palm strike directly into Yuri's chest.

There's a roar of applause from the stands as Yuri's defenses are penetrated by the intensely fast palm strike. The Sakazaki girl goes backwards two steps, then three, leaning against the ropes of the arena ring for a second... almost out.. and then she slams her foot to the ground much the same way that Hinako did at the start of the match! *FOOOM*
Yuri crik-craks her neck, and then grins at Hinako, giving her a slightly-winded thumbs-up. No words, just yet - she needs to get her breath! Taking a step forwards, she launches herself into the air, swinging her back leg around in a flying kick. Time for some full-on Kyokugen moves! Just uh - don't tell dad about that one, it's probably not really a full-on Kyokugen move.
"HYAAAAA!"

Hinako hunches over as Yuri's kick comes lashing out at her and... she lets it hit. Her body shudders from the impact, but she doesn't give any ground. That is not the sumo way! Instead she reaches out with her right arm, attempting to snare Yuri's leg, while she uses her left arm in an attempt to grab Yuri's torso. With the young Sakazaki hopefully ensnared, she then begins to run with her, getting up some good speed.
It's really unfortunate that Hinako doesn't get to fight in arenas with walls more often. Or where getting knocked out of the arena counts as losing the fight. Still, she can adapt. Once she gets going up to speed she tenses up the muscles in her arms, then hurls Yuri down toward the ground with all the strength she can muster, intending to send her opponent skidding a fair distance.

That's not the crowd, no - that's Yuri Sakazaki. That's the Kyokugen girl's yelp of surprise as she's pretty much caught and held up. Luckily, she's pretty sure Hinako will let her down eventuallly. And when she does, she'll just roll out and be ...
Why is the ground already there? *WHAM* Yuri goes skidding, sprawling, and tumbling into a heap. She's down! Can she get back up? SHOULD she get back up?
"Yu-Ri! YU-RI!"
Apparently, the crowd thinks so. Chanting gets her back to her feet, and she wobbles unsteadily, giving Hinako a dizzy smile. "Nice move! I'm going to remember that one!" With that, she takes a quick bounce back against the ring, and tries to chuck herself against the ropes. Forwards after they stretch, she uses their elastic to blast forwards into Hinako with a full body rush!

Hinako may have some pretty strong leg muscles, but center of gravity is still an issue. So when Yuri comes careening into her, the sumo girl gets knocked backwards, sent staggering into the ropes herself. She bounces back quickly, though. Can't disappoint all those cheering people! "C'mon, Hinako!" "You can do it, Yuri!"
Hinako grins and flexes her taped up fingers. "We can't let the fans down!" And with that she charges at Yuri again. If there's one weakness that Hinako's technique has, it's that it's rather straightforward. Rushing headlong at your opponents can lead to some impressive blows... If they hit. That's what Hinako's hoping will happen, though, as she thrusts out at Yuri again with a double palm strike. And this time she follows it up by reaching up for Yuri's shoulders, intending to grab her and throw her down to the ground while she's hopefully dazed.

Why yes, Hinako - rushing headlong into your opponents does lead to impressive blows. Were Yuri there, in Hinako's head, she'd be grinning as she sees the girl step in. Her shoulder drops as she is charged at, and she stops the attack short. Fingers clenched into a fist, down low and then up into Hinako's chin, she yells out for the crowd to hear, and to tighten all her muscles...
"YURI... CHOU... UPPPAAAAAA!"
She can her the roar of the crowd, the shock and surprise at the move from some, the excited cheers from others - all of them celebrating the two girls giving their all! It makes her blow off the pain from the impact - she'll have bruises later, but they're totally, /totally/ worth it!
Hinako staggers backwards, arms flailing wildly as she takes the blow to the chin, throwing her completely off balance. Recovering her balance quickly is a rather import aspect of sumo, however, and Hinako isn't going to let her training go to waste.
While the crowd is still cheering from Yuri's flashy move, Hinako straightens back up then hunches forward. There's a moment for Yuri to realize what's going on, and then Hinako has launched herself forward, trying to drive her shoulder into Yuri's chest...

After Hinako's shoulder connects with Yuri she explodes into a flurry of palm strikes. Some are head on blows, some are full arm swings, aimed all about the head and torso with a blurring level of speed. And then she reaches out to grab Yuri under the arms, attempting to heave her up off the ground and send her sailing backwards.
"That's it, Hinako! Give her hell!"
Yuri braces up under the assault and flurry of strikes, catching them on her arms and shoulders with the slap of palm to flesh. The sting is starting to get to her, but she holds up as well as she can, and when she's grabbed and tossed, she's mostly ready for it again. As she tumbles away again, she tucs herself tighter into a ball, and then springs away. From her position, she lands on one of the ring posts, and then waes to the crowd, to psych them up all the more.
"WHO ISN'T HAVING FUN????"
She drops down then, to her eet and focuses. This time, a swell of chi explode from her hands, arcing straight for the other girl, power expelled with a yell full of her might and her enthusiasm!
"HAOH SHO KO KEEEEEEN!"

As soon as Hinako sees the massive energy wave coming toward her she plants her feet firmly on the ground. Hunching over and crossing her arms in front of herself, she weathers the blast as it washes over her, sending her long hair flapping out behind her and blowing her beret off somewhere into the crowd. Looks like someone's got themselves a souvenier!
"Come on, I bet you guys can cheer louder! Yahhh!" And with that encouragement, Hinako leaps at Yuri once again, attempting to hook one hand under the other girl's arm. She then twists around, trying to use the leverage to knock Yuri off her feet and send her sprawling down to the ground.

How to give the crowd a better show? How to psych them up for the pair even more than they already are? By moving from the normal to the /spectacular/! Hinako has already stepped her game up there - now it's Yuri's turn! When the toss comes in, she's ready. As her feet come out from under her, Yuri pivots around the grabbing arm, swinging in a wide arc, up to a handstand... and then pushing off into the air!
Held up in the air away from gravity for a moment, she holds her hands out and concentrates. As she starts back down, a red-gold shield bursts into life around her, but it isn't used for defense. This time, she tries to use it as a tool to squish her opponent against the arena floor!
"SAIHA!"

And for the first time this fight, Hinako gets knocked down to the ground. She tries to leap out of the way, but only succeeds in giving Yuri's attack a bigger target, and leaving her to fall face down on the floor as she gets pushed down by the disc of energy.
"Oof! I'm not done yet, though!" Clambering back to her feet, Hinako actually leaps at Yuri, her feet leaving the ground as she sweeps out her arm, apparently attempting to clothesline her opponent...

As Hinako's arm slams into Yuri's neck, she hooks the limb, using her strength and her momentum to drag Yuri off her feet and spin around in a circle. She then launches Yuri away from her, sending the other girl sailing face first toward the roped off edge of the arena.
Since when does Hinako leap at people!!!! This totally catches Yuri off-guard, and throws her for a major loop. Speaking of being thrown for a loop Yuri yells and flails as she's roughly chucked towrds the ropes of the arena. Caught up in the arena's edge, struggling with them as she tries to untangle herself - she might be easy prey!
Or she might not! So far away from Hinako, she can't do too much - being caught upside down in the ropes is going to make this even more difficult. She manages to get herself out with an immense effort, slithering down and away into a crouch. And then she simply slides down along the ground, right back into Hinako, trying to slam her into the ground with an ankle-high takedown!

Really, all it takes for Hinako to avoid a takedown like that is to make sure her feet are firmly planted on the ground. The heavy thump sound made by contact with her shoes should give a hint as to this. Namely that each of her shoes weighs more than five pounds. (Hey, she's got to make up for being such a small girl /somehow!/ Besides, it's good strength training.) Still, getting kicked in the ankle is never pleasant.
"Looks like it's about time to end this, Yuri!" And then Hinako thrusts her arm down at her opponent, trying to drive her into the arena floor with a palm strike. Any blow could end the fight now. Both of these girls are battered and bruised, and the crowd is loving it. Who will win!? Who will still be standing at the end of this match!?

Who indeed? Well, Yuri's already on her back - already down, really. She hasn't given up - she won't give up, and so when that palm strike comes in, she just twists her hand, and shows how intense her spirit is. Matching the attack step for step, her hand slides along and inside Hinako's guard - catching her sternum just as Yuri feels the impact into her own. In that split second, her breath leaves her, and her world goes dark.
She'll swear tomorrow that she could her the crowd cheering - but she doen't understand why she was cheered for too. She lost! She's out, and Hinako is over her. That's a loss, right? Maybe it's just something special in Taiyo, the crowds cheering for them both for a fight so well done..
Something special about this battle, indeed...
And in the moment of her triumph, Hinako feels a sudden impact and pain in her chest. She can guess what happened, but she doesn't have long to think about it before her thoughts give way to unconciousness and she falls over on top of Yuri.
The crowd is silent for a long moment as the result of the fight sinks in, then they burst into cheers. Maybe they would have preferred Yuri winning, but she /did/ stop it from being Hinako's victory, and what an end to a fight it was! There's also a few fans quite happy to take photos of Hinako laying on top of Yuri. Hooray for unintentional fanservice.
