o/~ S-A-TUR-DAY... NIGHT! S-A-TUR-DAY... NIGHT! o/~ The mellifluous, melodious sounds of the Bay City Rollers are -rockin'- and filling the Howard Arena tonight! The song blasts from the speakers placed throughout the Arena and, oh yes, -this- goes to -ELEVEN-. It is a -party- in here, and Geese is the lucky man who gets to pay!
But, what is the source of all this? Who dares subvert the PA system? Why, it's Takuma Sakazaki of course, doing something -special- for this Main Event. Yeah, I'm sure the 'Guardian Angel' is a bigger draw, but what the hell.
...Geese's paying, after all.
Suddenly, down at one side of the arena, there's a commotion. Why? Because, folks.
Mr. Karate is IN... THE... HIZZOUSE! How can you tell? Well, the first clue was the song. The second? The sweet, deep-throated roar of a '59 El Camino engine, said El Camino rolling slowly up towards the mountainous stage that's the setting for this fight... driven by a student in an outlandish version of a karate gi embroidered with the Kyokugen name everywhere, Takuma is not in the car. Oh no.
He is RIDING on the HOOD. Standing there, arms crossed, looking absolutely glorious, a paragon of middle-aged power, strength, and skill.
Of course he's got the mask on, why wouldn't he? As the car rolls, he merely stands... and when it reaches the base, Takuma crouches... LEAPS... and lands halfway up on the stairs. Almost immediately, the car-driving Kyokugenryuu karateka beats a retreat, as Takuma majestically climbs up the stairs to the shrunken arena for this 'Close Quarters Fight', awaiting his teammate and his opponents.
Truly a magnificent intro for the Master of Kyokugenryuu Karate.
Kain's entrance is a bit more subdued than Takuma's. Luckily he enters from the opposite side of the arena, or who knows what might have happened to that Camino? Could have been messy. There's no theme music for Kain as he approaches the stage, although the sounds of Sakazaki's choice continue to blare through the speakers. Heinlein stops for a moment to glance at the control booth, and a few moments later the music dies with a hiss and a crackle of static. A keen eye might spot some sparks flying up in the control booth as they suffer an unexpected malfunction of some sort. Luckily there's a backup system in another location, which they quickly start bringing online.
And so Kain ascends to the fighting arena with only the sounds of the crowd roaring in the background. He offers Takuma a brief, humorless smile as he waits for things to get started. If he had anything to do with the technical difficulties, he doesn't appear ready to admit to it. After checking the fit of his gloves and shaking out his sleeves, he slips his left hand into his pocket and rocks back slightly on his heels for a moment. "I suppose the audience really does expect to be entertained before the fight begins? Really, this all seems a bit unbecoming. But if the fans demand it..." As if Kain really gives a damn about what anyone in the audience thinks. But he's willing to play along with Geese's game for the time being. Raising up his right hand, Kain snaps his fingers and a shower of sparks stream out from his hand. These split and multiply, growing larger as they near the ceiling before suddenly exploding with thunderclap force, providing a fairly impressive pyrotechnic display.
Yeah yeah, isn't everybody all flashy and stuff? Truth be told, Shenwoo doesn't have any pyrotechnics, natural or otherwise, nor does he have a car to drive out on the hood of. But honestly, he's not here for that. He's here... To punch some people in the face. The tall, lean brawler from Shanghai makes his arrival a few moments after Kain, just ambling in from the same side as his teammate, his dark eyes hidden behind a pair of designer sunglasses. He likes his sunglasses: He always needs to buy new pairs, though, because people keep breaking 'em.
For all his apparent casualness, though, Shen's broad slash of a mouth is pulled into an angular, wolfish grin. Fine, he has to be teammates with that Kain guy, whatever... But he does know Takuma is a strong opponent himself. And the other guy is... Some other guy, so far as the berserker is concerned. Kain's showy blast of chi makes the self-styled 'God of Battle' glance up, before he stps up onto the fighting stage, cracking his knuckles. "What's with the mask?" He calls out, towards the Kyokugen master. "Worried you won't be able to show your face in public after all this?"
All business, much like Kain, Krizalid's been hanging back behind the scenes for quite some time now. The NESTS lieutenant certainly didn't want to be the first to enter, as he already knew more than enough about his partner for the match to be expecting something like the ridiculous spectacle everyone was just witness to. And rather than, you know, laugh and/or scoff at Takuma while he's within hearing distance, the younger yet still silver-haired man gets that all out backstage where no one can hear him, and then comes strolling out to the arena from the same direction the Kyokugen's vehicle rolled up from, coming to stand to one side of the old master. His hands are in the pockets of his long coat, and while he looks very nonplussed about all of this behind the high collar of his coat, he does give a little nod of his head toward Heinlein, as he recalls a recent memo from his superiors detailing how the aristocrat is to be handled. In the simplest of terms, it said something to the effect of 'Don't give him any reason to be angry with the organization.' Hmm.
Guess that means that Kain is Takuma's boy for now. Shen gets the big ignore, the red and black mask turning in Kain's direction. Then Takuma doffs the mask, spinning and tossing it like a frisbee. It'll be someone's treasured souvenir of this fight. That done, Takuma turns back, and cricks his neck back and forth, rotating his shoulders one after the other... stretching, really.
"Missssster Kain Heinlein. This should be interesting, don't you think?" Takuma offers a placid grin to the blonde... still ignoring Shenwoo. Maybe deliberately, as he turns to Krizalid.
"Let's make it a memorable fight, Krizalid!" That said... the ring is pretty damn small. Should be interesting.
Suddenly... "BEGIN!" is called, from the -backup- PA booth (no thanks to Kain) and with that, Takuma is in motion. It isn't even more than a -step- before Takuma is aiming for Kain, dropping to one knee and thrusting a punch for Kain's midsection.
COMBATSYS: Takuma successfully hits Kain with Medium Punch.

Kain can fight under a variety of different situations, but a close up brawl like this isn't something he's used to. He's usually quite good at moving around during combat, and /making/ room if necessary. But that's not really an option here. Just a straight-up slug out. He tries to crouch down as Takuma lashes out, but the older man's fist still slams into Kain's stomach, knocking the air out of him with a grunt.
It hardly slows him down for long, however. Kain lifts up his right leg as he starts to straighten up, purple flames flashing up around his knee as he attempts to drive it up and into Takuma's face. And the explosion from /that/ should hopefully be enough for Kain to continue up with his leg into a full kick in one smooth motion, to launch Takuma even further straight up into the air.
Close quarters is right, because while Kain and Takuma start at it, suddenly the middle of the stage, where the four fighters are gathered, starts rising up into the air! It's really not a very large square of space they're being provided, and it's probably a little disorienting as they're surrounded by a set of turnbuckles and ropes hidden inside the stage and left with much less room to maneuver, plus the part where it's rising upwards.
"D-dammit, what the hell?!" Shenwoo demands, almost losing his footing and putting a hand on the ropes to steady himself. But it's not like it's going to keep the brawler from fighting... It's just a secondary concern. "Well, whatever!" he declares, tucking his shades away and grinning wildly at Krizalid. "LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!!" he shouts, not even having to go very far to get in close to the unknown fighter, trying to catch Krizalid with a headbutt, which if he hits he follows up with a punch to the midsection, and then tosses his target unceremoniously to the not very large floor. "ORA!!"

"I plan to." Being Irish, and formerly a boxer, the man loves to fight. *Maybe* not as much as Shenwoo, but we'll just have to see about that, won't we? He's not warmed-up yet, and neither is his battle-suit. In fact, the cybernetics beneath Krizalid's jacket don't even begin to boot up until after he sweeps it off from around his shoulders and tosses it away. An action which, is sort of delayed by the fact the platform he and the other combatants are standing on starts to raise up high into the air. It can't really freak him out too much, given they've got elevators just like this back at the base from whence he came, but it does make him a bit jumpy in this case. Enough so that he halts in mid-throw, and leaves himself open to a headbutt, and the punch that follows before he's tossed onto the floor. This is enough to shake the coat loose from his grasp and send it sailing off the platform on its own, at least, and while he's down, you can hear the clicks and whirrs of machinery kicking in as the fallen Irishman's gear begins to pick up the slack for him, dragging him back up to his feet and allowing him to retaliate almost immediately. One of the wicked gauntlets of his lashes out in an upward arc for Shen's throat, and it's followed closely by the other as the dark-skinned NESTS underboss carves out the shape of a crescent moon in the air with his own brand of dark chi. And depending on whether or not it succeeds in knocking the self-proclaimed God of Battle into the air, it might be followed by a quick upward stab with all the taloned fingers of one hand as Kriz rises off the ground slightly in hot pursuit.

Being on one knee, Takuma -wobbles-, as the platform starts rising; he actually puts one hand down to steady himself. It looks like the -perfect- time to smash Takuma's face with a knee and some chi (and then eat him with some fava beans and a nice chianti.) The only problem is...
He ain't havin' it. Takuma either regains his balance or proves it was all a ruse as he smashes that incoming knee aside with a forearm, remaining in his crouched stance for stability and balance as he lifts his other arm and tags Kain in the stomach.
Again.
Now, Kain might be in good shape, but getting punched repeatedly in the stomach by Takuma is going to take a bit of a toll on just about anybody. It's especially grating because he hasn't even managed to land a blow on Takuma yet. And he can't attempt to even the odds by just using massive amounts of firepower, because he'll probably end up blowing up his partner, and possibly himself, given the close quarters.
Kain grits his teeth as Takuma's fist drives into him again, and he looks up at Takuma with a hard glint in his eyes. Gotta keep things in close quarters, hmm? Well then... The area where Takuma's fist impacted Kain flashes with purple light, and then a line of flame begins swirling around Takuma's arm with incredible speed. It doesn't actually burn the flesh yet, just racing up his arm, then attempting to loop and swirl around his body. And then, unlike the perhaps expected explosion, it smashes /inwards/ with both a wave of force and the burning heat of the flames.

Clicks and whirrs? Machinery? CHEAP! Shenwoo doesn't have much time to protest the fairness of this, though, as he tries - and fails - to avoid Krizalid's attack, getting knocked into the air and attacked with chi and taloned fingers. Ow. The tall, lean fighter hits the ground rather closer to where Kain and Takuma are tussling than one might like, barely getting out of the way of their own footwork while he sits up in a crouch, facing Krizalid again. "Hahahahaha! That's the stuff!" the berserker laughs wildly, and then he /explodes/ out of his crouch, launching himself forward at Krizalid and throwing his beringed left fist out to try and punch the Irishman in the face. His name is Shenwoo, and he loves to fight! "GRAAAAAH!!"

Krizalid wipes his talons off on the front of his suit when all is said and done, landing mere inches from where he started and watching Shen fall a bit close to the other two fighters. Hm. Maybe *they* won't trample him, but the thought is now firmly planted in the Irishman's mind. Perhaps, too firmly. By Shen's fist. He was paying full attention, and his arms did come up to guard his face, but even the suit wasn't ready for such a punch. His forearms just aren't quite locked as well as they need to be to repel something like that. Call it a miscalculation.
"Rrgh!" Oh and, in case it's not obvious, the suit can do nothing to protect his face. The man gets pretty staggered, and is forced to lean into the flimsy ropes for a second or two, but once he recovers he comes rushing right in on Shenwoo again, intent on grabbing him by the throat lifting him as high as he can, and then savagely slamming him down on the ground. Yeah, he's a bit mad now. A punch in the face will do that.

Hmm. Purple flames, racing up Takuma's arm? That's... odd. A surprisingly prissy attack from the Kain-meister. And one that Takuma is somewhat unfamiliar with, though he deals with it with the aplomb that he has cultivated. The pure energy attack is largely dissipated by Takuma's own aura, though some of it gets through, enough to let Takuma know that Kain's abilities with chi are nothing to sneeze at.
Cautiously, Takuma rises, and as he does so he aims to throw a kick... at Kain? No! In fact, Takuma pushes off of Kain's midsection, lunging backwards at Shenwoo, quickly modifying his technique, as he can't just go flying around up here. Takuma scythes a high, hard roundhouse kick right for Shen's head, finally deigning to recognize the young Chinese brzerker with the fake silk shirt.
Hey, you do what you have to do. Kain may be good at handling his own flames, but that doesn't mean he wants to be caught in the backlash of a massive explosion, with nowhere to escape to. At least, not unless he's got a good plan for it. And now it seems that Shenwoo is providing a bit of a distraction. Good enough to get Takuma and Krizalid close to one another, at least...
Planting his left foot on the ground, Kain pivots completely around, crouching slightly as he does so and letting his right foot scrape against the ground for the first half of the turn. Flames begin trailing behind his leg as he spins, and as he comes around to face the other fighters again his foot leaves the ground, sweeping out in an arc aimed to clip Takuma and Krizalid's heads, and leave them engulfed in the flames trailing in its wake.

IT'S REAL SILK, TAKUMA. Though who knows how much longer the shirt might last at this rate? Shenwoo sees Krizalid's attack coming, and rather than trying to avoid it, he actually stands his ground, letting the other fighter grab him by the neck and smash him into the ground, though he wasn't expecting to ALSO GET KICKED AROUND BY TAKUMA IN THE PROCESS.
No, things really aren't looking too good for Shen right now... But he doesn't mind, he's having fun. Just look at the grin on his face. He has no idea what Kain is up to right this minute, but he's staying on the ground which will hopefully keep him out of the way of whatever it is. Of course, he's also trying to kick Krizalid in the groin from where he's been chokeslammed. Sure, the guy might be armored... But the 'God of Battle' is pretty strong, y'know?

It's a bit difficult to keep an eye out for low blows when your head is on fire. Krizalid doesn't even get to savor the tagteam sweetness for more than a second. It's like *grin* ---> OHGODSEARINGPAIN --->!%^$#!^@!! And what makes it really bad is he was /raising his leg/ at the time Shen kicked him in between them. The dude was wide open. He thought he could kick up a little vortex to suck the flames out of Kain's kick, but no, he doesn't even get halfway to that point. And there's not even enough room in the tiny arena for him to roll around in pain like he wants to. All he can really do is crawl over to the ropes and try to think happy thoughts till the pain subsides and he feels like he can stand again. Happy thoughts like harvesting Shenwoo's organs and showing them to the crowd.

Having had the satisfaction of just smackin' that fool rayon-wearing freakass in the head, Takuma grunts with satisfaction. Then he grunts again. But that's because Kain's kick, targetting Takuma's head, slams in. And yeah, it hurts, even for someone as hard-headed as Takuma. Yet... it doesn't knock him down like it probably should; Takuma just grins, even through the purple blaze of chi.
See, he's been thinking about this some, and it's time to modify one of his attacks. Old, he is yes. Karate, not very 'flexible' it is. Like Yoda, he is thinking true, because dented his temple is. However...
Takuma takes advantage of both Kain and Shen being near by... attacking. He utters a loud, impressive kiai as his fists lash out, one for Kain and one for Shen, targetting their torsos with machine-gun like punches, Takuma's fists blazing with chi, just hammering away... almost like he's flailing. The last final attack is eschewed, in this case, because even Takuma just isn't that flexible.

Kain is certainly taking quite a few blows to his center of mass tonight. He's definitely going to be sore in the morning. And he's lucky to get away from Takuma's latest assault without a fractured rib as he gets pummeled repeatedly with Takuma's fist. He staggers back for a moment, nearly hitting the edge of the raised platform before he stops himself, crossing his left arm over his chest for a moment.
Still holding his arm in place, Kain lunges back toward Takuma, reaching out with his right hand for the older man's face. He stops a fraction of an inch short of actually grabbing the elder Sakazaki, however. Which provides him a split second to see the building aura of blue chi before it slams forward like a hammer.

Hahaha, right in the beanbag! Shenwoo feels pretty good about that at least - and why wouldn't he, after all? - and he starts to get up, only to walk /right into/ Takuma's attack. Which, way to not look too good in this fight, Shenwoo. Despite getting pretty thoroughly smacked around by it, though, Shen doesn't go down - yet. He shakes his head a little, clearly not doing too good.
And then, he completely fuggin' snaps.
There's a sudden flare of a red, violent aura all around the self-styled 'God of Battle', now a berserker in truth, and he lashes out violently, seemingly blindly - though he manages to not attack in Kain's direction - like a whirling storm of violence directed at Krizalid and Takuma both. He's expending every last bit of power he has on it too, striking with fists and feet and head and whatever else he can manage to hit the two men with. And when he's done? It's goodnight, sweet Shen But hopefully he puts the hurt on his two opponents before he goes.

So, Krizalid gets back up just in time to get mauled. Yeah, that sounds about right. And, he's actually every bit as angry as the one doing the mauling. But the difference is, he's not /crazy/ like Shen is. If he was, he'd probably say the hell with blocking and dodging and just trade blows with the rampaging fool. Instead though, he tries to rely on his suit to help him avoid each hit, and several more miscalculations are made, resulting in far too many direct hits to the NESTS officer's body by the berserker's fists. For a minute, the silver-haired Irishman is taken down to one knee, but after Shen falls, Krizalid rises back to his feet and dashes over to try and get between Takuma and Kain. Not because he wants to protect his partner or anything silly like that, but because his fists are about to fly in every direction /except/ behind him, and while he may be a villain by most definitions, he didn't come here to get disqualified.
And so, clearing his throat, the NESTS leiutenant offers an apology, one eye squinted shut as he stands there, clearly having quite a bit of trouble staying on his feet. "Sorry about this, Kain." He then tries to shove the blond back toward the ropes, and whether or not it works, at this range it doesn't matter one bit... his fists still fly out in a rain of blows so fast it looks like they aren't even attached to his wrists, limbs seeming almost elastic until the twenty or so strikes are completed. And then finally, he reaches wayyyy back, and his right hand lights up with the darkest of his chi, the suit feeding it more and more power until he finally tries to slam it into Heinlein's chest. This understandably expends what little strength the silver-haired man has left... That's two down, right?

Well, okay, first off--chi? No, no thank you. Takuma will gracefully decline that close-in blast of chi. Unfortunately, here, there's just very little room to move, and in dodging, Takuma bumps into Krizalid. That's enough for that 'storm of violence' to hit, and it hard it does... but you know what? At the tail end of it, Takuma's laughing, pretty joyously, and he shrugs off the damage, for now, though he'll have a nice shiner from some hit or two that smacked him in the face. As always, Shen proves entertaining and quite fun, if not exactly cool-minded and pure-skilled.
However, now Takuma has to turn his attention to Kain. He's heard that Kain is formidable. He's heard that Kain is scary. And you know what? He is. But so is Takuma. Once again, Takuma assaults Kain--coming in right after his partner Krizalid. No apologies from Takuma, as he once again has to alter his techniques some, assaulting Kain with a powerful series of blows, hammering away with straigh tpunches, hooks, arcing elbows, and instead of a bit Haohshokoken, Takuma blazes his fists with energy and aims to hammer Kain in the shoulders--one fist per shoulder. After all... he doesn't wanna kill the poor bastard. That's Rock's job. Or Terry. Or you know... someone else. Maybe Mimiru.

Okay, things are going poorly. Time to turn up the heat a bit. Kain's hands and feet become engulfed in purple fire, and more flames flicker out of all the openings in his clothing, running all over his body. When Krizalid shoves him backwards, Kain gets knocked into the ropes, but when the NESTS man actually attempts to land some blows on Kain his fists have to first punch through a thick wall of flames and raw chi that springs up between them. Kain grits his teeth and one eye twitches, but otherwise he seems to keep most of his attention on Takuma, as the other fighter comes charging in.
Kain draws back his right arm, and the flames around his fist intensify and grow darker, becoming almost black as he swings out, intending to slam his knuckles right into Takuma's face even as the Kyokugen fighter's own blows land. But between Takuma's instincts and a slight error in aim on Kain's part, Kain's fist only just brushes by Takuma's cheek, leaving a sensation of incredible cold, but no actual damage. And Kain is left with no defenses. What follows is, suffice to say, brutal. And the final blows to the shoulders hit high enough to send Kain toppling right over the ropes at the edge of the raised dais. But Kain is already unconcious before he hits the floor.
Thunk.
Punching as fast as Krizalid was, that's likely to cause a lot of friction when ones knuckles strike something normally. But hitting a wall of flame? That almost enough to melt his gauntlets. The things are clearly overheating, and after a while the man just has to stop. The metal on them is glowing as if it all just came out of the forge. The pain, however, seems to make Krizalid forget that he's supposed to be eating mat right now. And he's even got energy enough to spare for jumping the hell out of the way when Takuma comes in to finish Kain off. The rest of his time is spent shaking his hands out, trying to cool the nearly molten gloves while he watches Kain go falling right off the platform, wheezing a bit out of the need to catch his breath and because he is truily astounded at the moment.
Takuma has just one thing to say. And that is... I'm the Jugg--no, no, no he's not saying that. In fact, he's not saying anything, just crossing his arms and gazing down sternly. Well, at least for a while. Kain'll live, this isn't Geese Tower. Takuma turns to Krizalid, grinning wickedly and, heedles of those glowing glove, offers a hand to the NESTS lieutenant.
"Good job, partner!" he cries, as the announcer announces, to the wildly cheering crowd, that Takuma and Krizalid are the winners of the main event. And, whether Krizalid shakes hands or not, Takuma waits for the platform to be lowered. Yes, the Kyokugen Master is content. And... yes...
...that's his El Camino coming up the tunnel. To take the Master back to his Den.
COMBATSYS: Takuma has left the fight here.
