Description: A duo of psychic teens face off agains Kain in the mountains of China! Who will survive this most epic of epic showdowns?! (Winner: Kain)
Training in the mountains has a long and proven track record in the annals of fighting history. If you can learn to fight in the thin air (and avoid falling to your death) you'll be that much stronger when you get back down closer to sea level. It's not the first time Kain has been to this sort of environment, although he's never been to Mount Tai in particular. And he seems to have dressed for the occasion, eschewing a suit in favor of a pair of loose white pants, with a length of silk rope serving as a belt. Despite the rocky terrain, he also goes without shoes. Playing along with Geese's games isn't really a concern here, but it seems appropriate to dress in training garb in such a locale. And really, Kain does what he wants. And to hell with anyone else.
Kain strolls around what little level ground there is in the area as he waits for the fight to start, casting an occasional disdainful glance toward the fight crew who are working to get things set up. He's considerably more impressed by some of the few spectators who made it up here, most of whom came up the hard way, rather than via helicopter like the crew.
Yeah, but you'd better be careful, Kain... 'Cause you're on somebody's /home turf/. Specifically, the home turf of one half of the pair of opponents that ol' Heinlein is supposed to be fighting today. And so, from the foggy and tree-ridden mountainy wilderness arrives the first of the crimelord's underaged foes... One Sie Kensou.
Now of course, the Psycho Soldier is dressed for the occasion: Rather than one of wearing /his/ usual fighting outfits, Kensou wears a mandarin-style jacket (in blue with a darker navy dragon embroidered on it) tied off at the waist with a sash, with loose black pants and soft black kung-fu shoes. In fact, as he walks up looking like something out of a martial arts manga, he has his arms folded and his hands hidden in his voluminous sleeves, a dramatic mountain breeze rustling its way through his hair and his unusual choice of clothing.
One might wonder, 'why the heck is Kensou dressed like that, anyway? It's a bit silly-looking', and the response to that wondering is very simple: Mrs. Chin got it for him, and his teacher told him that if he disappointed the grandmotherly old lady, he was going to have to swim back to Japan... With Chin and their luggage on his back. Not wanting to call his sifu's bluff, well, there Kensou is.
"Man, this looks like somethin' /Xiangfei/ would wear," Kensou mutters to himself (in Chinese), before sighing, gathering such dignity as he has - it's not hard to do, since there's not much of it - and then he strides out into full view of the onlookers and camera crew and Kain, finally unfolding his arms to point at blondie. "Now you're gonna learn the real power of kung fu!" the teenager declares, full of excess melodrama. Well, maybe he'll get lucky, and Kain will fall off a cliff or something.
Megumi has, much like Kensou, has opted for more regional attire. Though in her case it consists of a short red chinese dress with white floral patterns to it. She took a helicopter ride up to make her entrance, jumping off a short distance and giving a quick wave to the few spectators that did make it up here before walking over to Kensou. "Well, I was going to say a few things...but you look pretty fired up already. So I guess we'll just work together on this, huh?" She looks pretty relaxed, head turning to try and pick out where Kain is. It probably won't be too hard to spot him up here...
Spotting Kain? No, that won't be too hard. Geese wants some dramatic moments in his programming? Well, Kain will just have to oblige. It might just inspire someone in the audience to actually get up and do something of value with their lives. Not necessarily as a secondary thought, it also doesn't hurt to have people be in awe of you. And although he always takes combat seriously, Kain has no objections to a little bit of flashiness, as long as it doesn't interfere in any way with fighting ability. And when you've got chi to burn, as it were...
The mist near one of the mountain ledges a short distance up is blasted away as a swirling column of purple fire streaks up into the sky, roiling and twisting as it briefly forms a shape quite reminiscent of a Chinese dragon before flickering away, revealing Kain to be the source, standing with his back to the sheer drop just inches behind him. "Now that I've got your attention..." Kain grins down at the two teenagers. "I believe its time to see if you two have any real power."
Well, the flashy fiery stuff is... A little impressive, sure. But Kensou's not intimidated! Much. He's fought worse than Kain... Mind you, he didn't /win/, but he's still... Ah, nevermind. "Tch," he mutters at Kain's statement - and grin, of all things! - before he glances over at Megumi. "Ain't like I'd wanna fight him by myself!" he tells her, because he's seen the sorts of things Kain can do on TV. But, he knows Megumi's pretty strong, so surely the combination of the two of them can handle this, right?
"Go high," the Psycho Soldier then says to his partner for today, suddenly rushing forward at Kain as the fight offical calls out a hurried 'FIGHT!', since it seems like at least Kensou is way ahead of him on that. But he doesn't want to mess around too much here, or worse still, give Kain the first move. So instead, he gets as close as he can before dropping into a whirling series of kicks aimed at Darth Heinlein's legs. He just hopes Megumi listened to him, and knew what he was getting at... "Yaa-!!"

Megumi raises an eye at the flame-column, definitely wary of it. It's not enough to outright intimidate her, but it's weighing on her mind. "High? That's what I was thinkin' of anyway." Megumi runs in behind Kensou, and jumps over him just before Kensou begins those kicks. Her target? Kain's neck, as she tries to jump past him and wrap an arm about his neck, then use the momentum to drag Kain down to the rocky surface in tandem with Kensou's strikes.

Kensou aims low, so Kain goes high, simply leaping right up over the Psycho Soldier's striking legs. Unfortunately, dealing with Megumi is a little bit trickier. He tries to put his arms in the way of her attack, but with both of them in mid-air the attacker has a bit of an advantage. Not to mention little things like momentum. Kain gets slammed down against the edge of the cliff, but there's not quite enough for his entire body to hit it. He lands awkwardly on his hip as he slips over the edge of the cliff, apparently to fall to his doom.
Of course, the camera crew was prepared for such an eventuality (and, hey, seeing someone splatter would be good for ratings, even if they have to censor it) and so there are cameras watching from circling helicopters to see Kain drive his right hand into the side of the cliff, a flash of blue light appearing as Kain's hand smashes into the stone and arrests his fall. Swinging his right leg back, Kain's bare foot is engulfed in purple flame as he kicks off of the cliffside, lifting him up enough to grab the ledge and swing himself one-handed back up onto solid ground. And he hasn't even broken a sweat.
"I wonder... Have either of you two thought about what you'll do in such a situation?" He grins again. "Well, we'll just have to see if it comes up, yes?" And then Kain twists himself around, fire springing up from his foot again as he turns, before he suddenly launches himself up and forward, driving his foot up, and hopefully into Kensou, at a sharp angle.

"Agh!!" Kensou yells, because /pain/, hitting the ground some distance away with a bounce and a roll, but he does at least avoid going over the edge himself. Don't mind him, he just needs a second of lying there in intense pain.
...
Okay, much better. The Chinese martial artist pushes himself up, shaking his head a little... But he gets back up to his feet, all right, briefly stumbling backwards and almost off the side of the mountain. "Heheh... What was that? I've taken worse hits from fifth graders!" That is, of course, a dirty lie. Then he rushes /right at Kain again/, because he's not terribly bright, leaping at the blonde man for a totally sweet jump kick, trying to force Kain closer to the ledge again. After all, aren't they supposed to be going for flash and risk and stuff?
Megumi rolls and springs backwards as soon as Kain falls, not particularly wanting to go off the cliff. And with Kain gone, she continues to back away, not interested in seeing what would either be his likely demise or a very flashy return; it could even be a ruse on Kain's part. When Kain returns to the fight, she's fairly surprised by that. She's even more startled by just how hard Kensou got hit, wincing.
"Situation? What, are you trying to turn this into some sort of..." Megumi is cut off by Kensou going back on the offensive. She puts her arms together, then spreads them wide apart to create a thin, sparkling red energy wall about half her height. It's flying out toward Kensou, while she backflips onto the edge of the roof to get a better vantage point of the fight.

Kain eyes Megumi's attack warily, but since it's not coming right at him he's got more important things to deal with. Like Kensou. Kain brings his arms up as the Chinese boy comes leaping in, catching the kick on his hands without even seeming to budge. "Really now? Well, I wouldn't want to disappoint you."
Trying to hold onto Kensou's feet, Kain lets the teen fall for a moment before shoving forward and sending a massive burst of flames exploding out from his hands. This in and of itself should be less than pleasant for Kensou, but there's also the matter of him flying toward the building on which Megumi is perching. Kain's aiming too low to hit her, but if Kensou is sturdy enough there might well be some considerable structural damage.

Y'know, it's kinda sad that Kain is picking on Kensou so much... When Megumi's certainly proving to be the more dangerous one here today. Maybe the Psycho Soldier is more put off his game by Kain and his crazy bag of tricks than he wants to admit, maybe it's having been browbeaten into wearing something he didn't particularly want to, maybe it's the thin air - who knows! The point here is, not much is breaking Kensou's way right now.
Case in point, when Kain lets him drop for that throw attempt, Kensou throws his own hand out, apparently planning to do /something/ tricksy... But doesn't manage it before Kain's attack sends him flying back, and indeed right into the building on which Megumi is perching. Though the wall, which, by the way, kind of hurts. And he's not coming back out right this second.
Megumi sees Kensou heading in her general direction and evades as a precaution, jumping off the roof to land in some of the nearby plant-life. It makes a decent perch for the moment, though she doesn't linger. Instead, while Kensou's trying to gather himself, she launches at Kain. Megumi's body twirls through the air with her fist extended, wrapped in red energy. If she misses, the risk is minimal; she's basically 'divebombing' toward Kain and thus an evasion isn't likely to send her off the cliff. Should she connect, Megumi's other hand is ready to hit the ground and cartwheel her off to the side.

Since Kensou is apparently sprawled out somewhere inside the wooden structure, and there's a few too many people around for Kain to simply blow the thing up (it'd be bothersome if Kain were to have to deal with the relatives of people killed by flying shrapnel), Kain is left to deal with Megumi for the time being. And it seems that she's also up for bringing the fight to Kain.
And Megumi doesn't miss, although she doesn't hit in quite the way she might have hoped. As the girl comes flying in toward him, Kain takes a step back, then swings forward with his right leg extended, purple fire swirling around the limb to meet the red energy engulfing Megumi. His foot slams into her with an explosion of energy, pushing him back a few inches and probably doing considerably more to Megumi. "Now, we're supposed to be making things interesting, aren't we?"
Kain offers a not particularly friendly smile as he finishes speaking, then suddenly hops backwards, bringing him closer to a rising cliff where the mountain continues up into the mist. With a few quick hops between outcroppings Kain begins vanishing upwards into the fog, although it'll be several moments before he actually gets high enough to be lost from view.
Finally, though, Kensou comes clambering out of the hole he made in the side of that house. "Ugh... I hope I ain't gonna havta pay for that," he mutters, and... There goes Kain up the mountain? Aw, for the love of... Still, obviously they'd better follow, otherwise there won't be much of a fight, howevermuch the Chinese martial artist would rather /not/ let Kain pick the terrain of the fight.
"Guess we're gonna havta follow," he says to Megumi... So, Kensou indeed starts following, leaping spryly despite his injuries over to the other cliff, and then likewise starting to half-run, half-jump up it... But he's actually taking it a little easy, because he'd really rather not go all out and then suddenly run into Kain. That would be /bad/.

Megumi was expecting to hit something other than Kain's foot, and goes stumbling back end over end a few times before coming out of that in a backward roll, ending upright and chasing Kain almost immediately. It's a display of stamina she's not likely to repeat if she gets struck that hard again, but she can pull it off this time. "Follow? I guess so. But I'm of half a mind to drag him back here," she yells while chasing after Kain, leaping to various rocks to try and overtake him. Her hope is to get in close and grab an arm, then spin behind him and wrench the limb upward. Something to keep him there while Kensou lines up an attack, hopefully.

Kain is forced to slow down a bit as he gets higher, because while the mist is good concealment it also makes the going more treacherous. And that gives Megumi time to catch up to him, and there's really not a lot of room for defensive maneuvering on a cliffside. It seems that there's enough, though. When he senses someone catching up to him, Kain turns around to place his back against the rocks. Megumi is able to grab his arm and, for the moment, keeping him from climbing any higher, but she doesn't get nearly as safe or useful a hold on him as she might like.
And that being the case, Kain decides to try and deal with her before Kensou can make it up to them. "Might want to rethink that plan." Megumi can hold onto Kain's arm, but when the limb suddenly becomes engulfed in rapidly expanding purple flame that starts to look like an unwise plan. Kain doesn't even need to move. The explosion that occurs a few moments later should do all his work for him.
Springing up and onto an outcropping tree, Kensou huffs out a breath of air, and... Oh man, Kain is totally unloading with the evil-looking chi on Megumi, huh? Hopefully, though, Kensou can exploit the situation, as he leaps off of the tree he's on... And right at Kain once again. "Hey, FREAKSHOW!!" he calls out, closing with blondie right quick, and thrusting out both hands towards their opponent. His flashy Chinese fighting outfit flutters a bit in what is not entirely the wind up here in the mountains, and suddenly the mists whirl around the Psycho Soldier, and his eyes flash with an unearthly blue light. "EAT THIS!!"
And then a huge spherical white blast of Psycho Power erupts in the air in front of his hands... Hopefully, right where Kain is. And if not, it's likely going to take a chunk out of the mountain. Ooops?

An unwise plan, indeed. Megumi starts to release Kain's arm, about to leap away when she sees Kensou get into position. When Kain's energy explodes, she...holds her place, crying out in pain as the purple explosion tears into her...and yet she isn't knocked very far back. Instead, she jumps off to the side, aiming to get Kain between her and the solid ground back near the house.
Then with a quick wrist-flick, a thin red line of energy races up Megumi's arm, down her body...and ending on a shoe. She snaps a kick at Kain, sending the ray toward him. It expands into a huge cone, spinning in place with its tip pointing at Kain. A simultaneous attack; as Kensou sends his Psycho Power at Kain, Megumi leaps into her cone. Once she's in it, it resumes flying forward in an effort to smash through him and carry her past the fog, arriving back near the house. It should be quite the flashy return, if it works.

Kain 1/--=====/=======|
Freakshow? Really now, that's just uncalled for. And if Kensou is going to be like that, Kain's certainly not going to hang around and play with him and his attacks. Even without much ground beneath his feet he's still quite capable of jumping upwards, bringing him out of the range of the Psycho Soldier's attack. There is, however, a problem. Namely, that Megumi is coming at Kain, and trying to drive him down from his perch. And what's immediately below him? Right, the Senki Hakkei. Megumi's massive cone of energy slams into Kain's flank, and drives him right back down and through Kensou's attack.
This light show is about to get even crazier, though. As Kain gets driven through Kensou's orb of pyscho power, he's not flying at an angle that'll actually hit the youth. When Kain's entire body flares up with purple fire, though, Megumi might be protected by her energy cone, but Kensou's not quite so lucky. He's going to have to come up with his own defenses if he doesn't want to join in the flight down the mountain, while on fire.

So, Kensou just totally took a chunk out of the mountain with that, huh? Not as good as actually hitting Kain, but... Pretty flashy, eh? Eh? The Senki Hakkei erupts completely as Kain comes through it and at him - on FIRE - but the force of the sphere 'breaking' gives Kensou a bit of a boost away from the flamer, who's attack misses completely! Which is good.
The downside, of course, is that Kensou is kind of falling downwards in a bad way.
He manages to snag an outcropping, though, and with surprising athleticism he yanks himself up onto it, before continuing upwards, once again back at Kain. This time, though, he's just feinting at the blond man, trying to keep his attention with an assortment of totally weaksauce attacks, trying to lure him into a position where the /other/ Psion can whack him good. After all, Megumi seems to be having better luck with putting the hurt on their opponent, so why not make it easier for her to do so?

Megumi pierces through the fog in her cone, though it vanishes just a few moments later and leaves her dropping to the ground in a crouch. She watches as Kain and Kensou make a quick exchange, and watches curiously as Kensou appears to be feinting or at least applying a high-speed but low intensity assault.
And then the reason why dawns on her, very suddenly. With a quick yell, Megumi wraps her fist in sparkling red energy again and rushes toward Kain, barreling toward him from the side. Once she's close enough, her fist punches straight forward, trying to make contact with Kain's ribs. As the punch completes, the energy on her fist bursts outward; an 'explosion' of her own.

Kain is starting to get a bit worn down now, but he's still got plenty of energy to burn, as long as his body can keep up with it. In order for /that/ to be achieved, though, he's going to have to turn this into a one on one fight pretty soon. Keeping up with attacks coming from two different directions is hard enough when a person is in top shape. And since Megumi is the one coming after Kain with a real attack right at the moment, it looks like she's been chosen as the target.
Kain ducks and twists as Megumi's punch comes in, so that her fist only grazes him. And as energy begins to explode out from her hand he sweeps out his own arm, smashing it right through the explosion with a flare of blue light. And his arm keeps going, still wreathed in blue chi, as he attempts to slam the back of his fist into the side of her head.
Well, that could've gone better, huh? Kensou clings to the side of the cliff for a moment, giving his head a bit of a shake... It's a bit draining, fighting in terrain like this, and especially against somebody as strong as Kain is. But you know, he really doesn't feel like being /completely/ useless here. Instead, he scrambles up higher and higher after Kain and Megumi, and with one hand holding onto an outcropping, he uses the other one to try and grab Kain by the bare foot. And if he gets a grasp on the blond, he's going to use his leverage to, well... Toss Kain /downwards/. Down being kind of bad. It's not really a technique, though, so much as it is a slightly desperate move.

It's always the head that people aim for, and Megumi probably ought to be better at protecting hers by now. She starts to bring an arm up to deflect Kain's fist, but ends up being struck square on the forehead instead and staggers back, nearly falling over. But she manages to stay on her feet even as her vision begins to blur. And what happens next will almost certainly take her out of this bout, as she leaps high above Kain.
Then she descends, her foot producing another cone like the one she used moments ago. She lands in it, descending to try and slam into Kain's head...but given how high she jumped beforehand, he may have some warning before she impacts. If he's not there any more, then...the mountain is about to get a small hole gouged into it as Megumi hits the floor, unconscious.

And down Kain falls, as Kensou grabs and falls. The impact with the mountain is unpleasant, but it does have one nice side effect; giving Kain an extra second or two to deal with Megumi's incoming charge. He quickly rolls to one side, getting out of the way just in time as Megumi blasts a hole into the rock. When she doesn't climb back up, though, Kain knows that it's time to deal with Kensou.
Cracking his neck as he climbs back to his feet, Kain looks up the mountain toward Kensou. "Time to come down, don't you think?" Kain holds up his right hand, and a swirling mass of blue chi appears in his palm. He points it toward Kensou and it quickly begins to expand in size, before long becoming nearly as tall as Kain himself. A moment later and it's rocketing up towards Kensou. And whether it hits him or not, it's probably going to take a good sized chunk out of the mountain, so Kain quickly takes a few steps back to avoid falling rocks and/or Chinese boys.

That's not good. In fact, it's something Kensou thinks he'd rather avoid... But unfortunately he hasn't been having quite the luck he wishes he was in that department today. Kain's chi attack is, also, kind of helluva fast, so Kensou's attempt to get out of the way gets pretty well stuffed, and he's blasted back into the mountain, which is itself blasted. Ow. But, as rocks tumble and Kensou tumbles, the Psycho Soldier gets one last gasp of strength out, pushing off debris with his feet to close with Kain again. The /very/ lovely jacket that Mrs. Chin got for him is /quite regrettably/ in tatters, but Kensou has enough power for lone last strike, so he thrusts his right hand forward... And again tries to catch Kain with that spherical, almost pure white blast of energy. "HAAAAAAAA--!!"
Hit or miss, though, the sphere ends up exploding prematurely and QUITE powerfully, which is how Kensou ends up at his next destination: A smoking heap on the ground where they started, out like a light!

Kain could probably stop this attack. He's still got plenty of energy left. But... He'd really rather not try, instead opting for getting out of the way. He did not, however, count on the instability of this instance of Kensou's orb of psycho power, and the explosion sends him sprawling out on the ground.
After a few moments, however, he sits up. Kain's got a number of scratches and some nice bruises, but he still seems to be in relatively good shape, even if a bit battered. And when he gets back to his feet and looks at his fallen opponents, it's pretty clear who the victor is here.
Kain is not, however, in quite good enough shape to make for a very flashy exit. He still, however, starts heading off to hike back down the mountain. Never let yourself be weak; it can become a habit. And he doesn't have much to say to the cameras. He's sure someone will try to track him down for some commentary sooner or later, so he might as well at least make them work for it.
