Second Victory - R3: Terry/Tran vs Kain/Hinata

Description: Kain thoroughly works over the elder Bogard, before his partner proves her budding prowess by demolishing a dirt-smeared Tran. Can nobody stop these fighting machines?! (Winners: Kain and Hinata)

A sound of crackling static, and the silence in the dark room is broken. A calm, soothing voice fills the air, with soft music behind it. "Ever since early man looked up at the stars and wondered what they were, astronomy has fascinated people. Perhaps that’s because astronomy asks questions. Questions that go beyond those which man might have first asked. An important question man’s been asking for a long time is, "What is man’s purpose? Why is he here?" But astronomy warns, before you can ask why we’re here, you’ve got to ask, where is here? If someone asks you where you are, your first impulse is to look around you for landmarks. When man looks around he sees the stars. The stars, to us they appear to be tiny pinpoints of light in the sky. Nothing more. But what are they really?" Then the music suddenly cuts out and another voice speaks up. "Sorry about that. It automatically starts up when we activate the system. Let me put the lights back on so we can get set up."
And with that, the lights turn back on to reveal the Southtown Planetarium, location for the latest match in the Second Victory tournament. Kain R. Heinlein leans against one of the building's curved walls, glancing briefly at his watch. Even he has to admit that this is a rather novel choice of a fighting arena. The sloping floor, with rows of seats, the bannisters to keep people from falling over said seats, the massive projector at the center of the dome... All things that will have to be kept track of during the fight. At least things shouldn't be boring. Although Kain has a feeling that the owners of the planetarium aren't /quite/ aware of just how much damage these sorts of things can cause. Well, they'll find out soon enough.
Kain's more interested in getting a chance to fight Terry Bogard again than the damage the fight is likely to cause, anyway. It's been quite a while since he's fought the Lonely Wolf, and he's quite interested in seeing if he'll be able to defeat him again. And Hinata and Tran will be there, too... Well, it might be worth watching. Hinata has shown herself to be moderately capable. Tran... Kain may have blown him up once before, but he hasn't really had many dealings with the good doctor. And once everybody's ready and the cameras are set up, they can begin. Should make for quite a light show.

"Aww man, it was just getting interesting," Hinata says, looking up at the expansive planetarium dome. The Sunshine Girl is as energetic as ever in the ubiquitous Taiyo High uniform, thumbs hooked into the straps of her leather bookbag and looking for all the world as if she can't stand still. The room was just so big, with very few large clear areas of floor for fighting. But that just might make it more interesting than ever.

So.. Terry Bogard. The girl knew the name, if not exactly a lot of detail. And someone else as well, a complete unknown to her. But Hinata has been working out lately, getting ready for just such an occasion! She throws a few experimental punches at thin air before offering Kain a hearty smile. "Are you ready? I'm totally ready." Maybe light pre-battle banter is wasted on Kain, but she'll always give it a try. After a few disappointing shows in the last few tournament battles, Hinata is ready to get it right.

"Yeah," she agrees with herself, straightening her arms over her head for one last stretch. "Totally ready."

Many doubted that Terry Bogard would make a second appearance in this tournament. Swept away in a tide of chaos and destruction, then suddenly absent for an alarming period of time, only the diehard fans and the 'old guard' still expect him to arrive on the scene... as for the officials? They know better than to call a fight too early. With so many mysterious vagabonds on the international circuit, there is too often a lingering sense of uncertainty leading up to the fight.

Some might say it enhances the experience.

Others, gossip and heckle.

Both parties get their kicks tonight.

Terry's appearance comes just late enough to make a few brows sweat. Several minutes after the planetarium's prerecorded intro has done its thing, a few beats beyond what might be considered an appropriate time to arrive, the Hungry Wolf rolls his shoulders and strolls down the outer rim of seats, slipping through the shadows into the eerie light cast by the overhead display. Bright blue eyes flicker around the unorthodox arena - displaying a little surprise, a little amusement, and that familiar excitement - before settling upon the formidable Herr Heinlein. His feelings here are mixed, given all he has heard and all he might come to suspect, but that warrior's soul wins out over anything else. He's so excited, and he just can't hide it.

When it comes to losing control, however, Terry is having none of it. A hand lifts slowly, to thumb the brim of his cap in 'formal' greeting to Kain, and a grin flickers briefly across his lips. "Long time, no see... guess we should make this a good one..." His murmur is soft, but carries easily through the echo-drenched chamber. Provided the scrutiny is returned, he locks eyes with the teutonic blonde for a few seconds before turning his attention to the young girl beside him. "Nice to meet ya, miss. Good luck."

It's not in the least bit condescending, and in some way the final words are delivered to all those present... though at the end of the day, this will come down to skill, and he knows it. This in mind, he takes a step back, tightening his gloves one at a time and forcing a deep focus to the fore.

Richard Tran, self-proclaimed doctor, fighter, lover, and anything else even vaguely positive that ends with the -er suffix, is quite clearly having some kind of off-day. At least, that's the explanation that most readily springs to mind given his appearance as the man slams an emergency exit open a solid fifteen minutes after Terry arrives, panting heavily and looking like he just ran through three kinds of hell.

While normally dressed like your average, everyday joe, plus doctor's coat, Tran seems to be saving time here today as he's not wearing anything on his upper body at all. Unless you count the layers upon layers of grime and filth that are caked on his body, streaked with tiny paths where sweat has recently dripped down. His pants aren't in much better shape - it's pretty clear they were nice, once, but at this point they're ragged and dirty.

Still, he's Dr. Tran! Despite looking like some kind of sub-hobo, he doesn't seem to feel embarressed at all. Heck, he doesn't look the slightest bit anxious, not over his opponents or his fighting area. Clearly, thinking about your fighting terrain is for suckers. Is it blind self-confidence, or has he perhaps found some kind of TRUE POWER?! Only time will tell.

Striding forward toward Terry with fire in his eyes, Tran raises a finger up to point right at the Lonely Wolf's face. He sums up the entirety of what he's feeling right now with a single shouted word. "Jackass!" And that's that, Tran plops into an empty seat and waves his hand tiredly at Terry. "You can make it up to me by taking care of this for a minute, I'm beat."

Hinata's pre-fight banter gets an idle nod from Kain, and Terry is given much more attention as the two men lock eyes for a long moment. This should be fun. But since there are some boring /rules/ that need to be followed, they need to wait for Tran. Oh, look there he i-
Kain stares at Tran for a moment, then just sighs and shakes his head. None of his concern. Hopefully whatever Tran is covered in is no more than moderately flammable, so there won't be any unexpected explosions to worry about. Slipping his left hand into his pocket, Kain gestures toward Terry with his right. "Well then... Shall we get started?"
Right on cue, the lights dim again and the projector whirrs into life, turning the roof of the doom into a star filled night sky. The dim light makes the purple flame that crackles in Kain's open hand for a moment all the more impressive, but then he clenches his fist and it goes out. Terry has had a whole couple seconds to get ready, that should be fair enough.
And so Kain dashes forward toward his opponent. They're still at the top of the sloping rows of seats, but that probably won't last for long. This place isn't overly roomy, after all. On that note, Kain only moves forward a few long steps before he twists his body around, launching himself into a flying kick with his right foot, a wave of purple fire trailing out behind his leg like a comet.

COMBATSYS: Kain has started a fight here on the left meter side.

COMBATSYS: Terry has joined the fight here on the right meter side.

COMBATSYS: Hinata has joined the fight here on the left meter side.

COMBATSYS: Tran has joined the fight here on the right meter side.

Speaking of the whole wandering vagabond thing, isn't this guy Tran taking the whole concept a little too far? Or is he just *so* good, he doesn't even feel the need to dress up a bit for the cameras? Hinata cocks her head to one side critically, finger on her chin as she studies Tran. There's always the second option, in that he's just weird.

She scoots back as soon as the lights dim. There's not a lot of room in here, so it's a little difficult to tell where a safe place to stand might be. "Get 'im, Kain!" is all she really has to offer in way of encouragement. It's kind of exciting to be on the sidelines for once, instead of watching the last half of the fight through a beaten haze.

COMBATSYS: Kain successfully hits Terry with Schwarzer Stob.

When Tran storms in, Terry's attention is jarred from their opponents, eyebrows raising as he half-turns to face the oncoming doctor. "Glad ya could make it," he begins to say with a gentle smirk, a hand lifting in offering to the man before the senses can fully take in both his appearance and apparent mood. "Uh." The Wolf hesitates quite noticeably, not even finding time to be taken aback by the single shouted word - the insult simply fails to register. Instead his gaze numbly follows Tran to his seat, then snaps back toward Kain. The lights are down, he's being charged. Couple seconds? Not even.

Terry is almost launched back into the empty seating as that screaming strike plows into his chest, kicking up a massive gout of fire as the combatants' auras briefly meet. But one of them was ill-prepared indeed, and despite a token attempt to mount defence, it's the red-capped blonde who falls, only barely managing to turn the momentum into a recovery flip. Desperately catching himself on one hand and straightening unsteadily, it is only now that Tran's words hit home.

"Make it up, jackass," Terry mutters, glancing sidelong to his partner and pulling up his fists. "Got it."

A moment later, he's a blur of motion, slinging himself forward at the recently landed Kain with a double feint. First his left hand snaps forward, fist closed tight, then he steps abruptly to one side, a violent torque from the upper body giving all the power he needs to lift off his feet and lash out with a hard right leg - aiming to take the tall man down with something halfway between a traditional flying kick and a leg lariat. "HAH!" All being well, he catches himself on that extended left forearm and rolls off to one side... strike true or not, with any luck he can still avoid the next assault. Those flames burn brighter than any other.

'Weird' is probably an understatement when it comes to all that is Tran. It doesn't fully convey the scope of Tranitude, the width and breadth of how crazy he can be.

Nonetheless, he seems pretty calm now, lounging in his seat while watching Terry and Kain go at it calmly. He does cup his hands over his mouth to shout, "Come on, hurry up and kick his ass!" Afterward, Tran leans back again, still recuperating from his last-minute dash to the planetarium, and closes his eyes.

Light snoring ensues.

COMBATSYS: Kain blocks Terry's Medium Kick.

Left hand slipping back into his pocket after his brief flight, Kain sweeps out with his right arm to deflect Terry's incoming punch. He's fairly certain that it's a feint, but it doesn't pay to be careless. Because he's not focused on that as necessarily being the /real/ attack, though he manages to see through Terry's plan. Kain twists himself around, planting his feet to brace himself, ducking down to catch Terry's kick on the outside of his arm.
Kain quickly stands up as soon as he feels the impact, rocking back on his left foot as he swings his right foot up into the air. The upswing isn't met to hit Terry, but as Kain's foot reaches its apex his leg ignites with purple chi, and it's the downstroke that the rolling Terry is going to have to worry about, as Kain attempts to slam his foot down onto his opponent.

COMBATSYS: Kain successfully hits Terry with Strong Kick.

Of those recognised as truly incredible martial artists, there are few the Hungry Wolf has not crossed paths with at some point. Those he hasn't personally fought, he has seen or been in close proximity to - enough to boast impressive familiarity with various styles and various forms of chi. None yet have proven themselves with the former in the same manner as Kain. Wary far more than outward appearance might show, Terry has only this thought on his mind as he hits the deck in a roll made a little awkward by his blow's deflection. He was prepared for this eventuality... but it does no good.

One step behind his opponent, the Wolf is caught by that second burst of energy and flung into high gear, his movements undesirably accelerated so his roll ends up pitching him into the base of the planetarium's projecter unit. And moreso. There's a deafening clatter as his hardened form strikes, but then an explosion of force - and a red flash bearing a blonde ponytail thunders up the contraption's side, finally coming to a stop as Terry plants a shrieking Converse to the metal. Wordless, free from taunts or compliments, all his focus is given to this one crucial moment; that of propulsion. His leg muscles strain, one arm flies back, and then he's surging forward with a harsh expense of effort, the outflung arm hurled forward bearing a fist that glows with red-gold chi. The attack is famed enough, but he gets points for unpredictability.

"BURN KNUCKLE!!" Terry flies at Kain from among the stars, aiming to hammer those knuckles home with all the resolve in his soul.

COMBATSYS: Terry successfully hits Kain with Burn Knuckle.

And it would seem that Terry's resolve is enough. While the stars overhead wobble about wildly from Terry's impact with the projector, Kain gets to see even more stars as Terry's fist slams into his face, sending him flying back to hit the wall of the dome with a loud impact. There's no slumping over or sliding down the wall for Kain, though. No, he's sturdy enough to take a hit like that and come back for more.
Lunging forward, Kain rushes at Terry, but then suddenly veers to the side as he gets close. Hopping up, he briefly lands on one of the guard rails before kicking off, sailing into the air over the seats below. As he lifts off, Kain thrusts both hands out toward Terry, sending a blast of purple fire racing toward the other man even as Kain opens up the distance between the two of them.

COMBATSYS: Kain successfully hits Terry with Schwarze Flame.

Strike one. His fist digging deep into Kain's cheek for that precious moment, Terry is safe to make a fair landing - feet setting down in quick succession and hand lowering, fingers uncurling against the air as chi evaporates in a faint mist. Looking up and across to his staggered opponent, it becomes too obvious that for all the differences between them they share at least one thing. Heinlein is a tenacious bastard. A spark in his eye, the Wolf takes a single step forward to match the man's sudden swaying of motion, turning about to meet him head-on once more. The leap comes, Kain touches the rail and thrusts out that searing projectile...

Just in time for what might have been a perfect retort. Terry's body snaps into a perfectly coordinated defensive posture, a flare of energy marking the passage of his arms as they move out to either side, an effective parry which - timed right - would have caught and dispelled the flaming gout. Instead, he times it just slightly wrong. Eyes widening with realisation, he's bowled back by the fire, leaping backward with arms shielding his eyes as they close in pain. "Dammit-" He lands, but staggers, and drops to one knee, a hand pushing against the floor to keep him upright. "Almost too strong." The last comes as a whisper, followed by a hard intake of breath. It's not a thing he'd be willing to admit. No man is insurpassable. It just takes patience.

Something the Wolf is clearly low on, as with atypical rashness he surges to his feet with a wild cry, leading into a fierce sprint. He might tear up the space between them quickly enough, but he's given Kain time to prepare - a mistake he doesn't make twice, as the next attack comes almost too fast to see. Flipping forward when he nears the suited man, Terry's kiai comes in synch with the crushing heel he aims to bring down upon his opponent's collarbone. "CRACK SHOT!"

COMBATSYS: Kain interrupts Crack Shoot from Terry with Himmlische Seele.

Unfortunately for Kain, his leap isn't quite long enough for him to completely clear the planetarium's seating. He manages to land, somewhat awkwardly, with his feet on two seperate seats. He avoided falling down, but there's still the issue of this being a rather undesirable defensive position. And, of course, Terry has no intentions of letting Kain get to a better spot. So, he'll have to make do with what he's got.
There's no chance for Kain to get out of the way, but he can still make Terry regret a frontal assault. As Terry leaps in, Kain doesn't even attempt to defend himself, simply thrusting his hands out toward the Lonely Wolf. A ball of blue chi appears between his palms, then rapidly expands outward into an orb nearly as large as the incoming Terry. The kick still slams into Kain's shoulder, but between Terry being engulfed in the roiling storm of chi, and the subsequent explosion which blasts him away from Kain, it doesn't hurt quite as much as it could have. Although it's still enough to knock Kain off the seats, slamming his back into the guard rail seperating them from the central floor.

Engulfed isn't the word.

Without time to even begin a recovery from his ill-advised attack, Terry finds himself thoroughly demolished by a burst of power so sudden it shakes him - more than any showdown with Geese has ever accomplished, more than Rugal's astonishing physical strength. One moment he is in reasonable health, bruised but not broken, and the next.. he is falling in a dangerous spin to the floor, bouncing three times before he finally comes to a halt, smoking and still partially wreathed in purple plumes. As the energy works off his body, leaving behind a sensation of utter and total defeat, the Wolf pushes himself upright, first to one knee and then to his feet. His back slightly bent, he looks to the floor, arms hanging before him with an awkward exhaustion - an exhaustion that /shouldn't be there/. Then, those twin flashes of bright blue lift to focus against on Kain.

Are they really that different? This isn't the first time they've fought. It will not be the last. Terry can feel that strongly. But this boggles him in ways other have never achieved... there is nothing visibly special, unique about Kain Heinlein, which leaves something deeper and more mysterious to discover. Discovery of which, will have to wait. It's time for one last stand.

"Okay," the ponytailed blonde manages, taking a step forward and lifting one shaking hand. Clenching the fingers to a fist, slowly, he tenses himself before starting an assault in truth. His first steps carry him direct toward Kain, the next see him veer away... then he leaps, into a spinning flip that carries him back up into that starlit dome. His feet barely clear the surface as he turns overhead and comes down, speed picking up rapidly to bring him in at a wickedly fast pace toward Heinlein - the staged nature of the attack offset in the confusion as red-gold light erupts around his whole form. It's strong enough to give him yet another shift in momentum, this time from impact with the ground to a renewed flight, his cap flying off and hair streaming out behind, threatening to unbind from carefully tightened bands with the sheer force of the blow flung toward Kain.

What is it? An uppercut, plain and simple. Terry's accompanying cry is incoherent, but passionate, and a milisecond later is followed with a gigantic eruption of his energies, chi lashing out from his arm to create a towering column... enough to not only engulf Kain, but to carry him in toward the high ceiling for a devastating final blow.

Final. Because when the fireworks clear, the Wolf falls to earth and fails to move for some time.

COMBATSYS: Terry can no longer fight.

COMBATSYS: Kain dodges Terry's Overshoot Geyser.

The blast of Terry's chi is both impressive and destructive. It rips through its target, tearing the unsuspecting recipient to shreds. Unfortunately, the chairs of the planetarium aren't Terry's opponents. Kain sees the devestation coming and acts quickly. Lifting his shoulders up, he slams his hands down onto the railing behind him, then hauls his entire body up using just his arms. Planting his feet against one of the seats in front of him, he kicks back and does a backwards flip over the railing, just barely getting himself out of the way in time.
Skidding to a halt in the center of the dome, Kain slowly stands back up straight, smoothing out his suit as he watches Terry collapse to the floor. He glances up at the remaining shirtless and very dirty opponent that's waiting for him. Kind of a letdown after facing off against Terry Bogard. Shaking his head with a sigh, Kain walks off toward the waiting Hinata, tapping her on the shoulder as he draws close. "Far be it for me to hog all the fun to myself." The brief grin that accompanies these words almost looks friendly... But there's definitely something unsettling about it. Possibly the way it follows after blowing up a legendary fighter like Terry Bogard.

COMBATSYS: Kain drops his guard to recover.

COMBATSYS: Kain takes no action.

Explosions everywhere. The chi flying around is mammoth, immense. This is some kind of clash of the titans, the skill with which the combatents are fighting far beyond Tran. Truly, this is a fine lesson for him on this day.

At least, it would be were it not for the fact that he's just now starting to wake up after his little nap. Blearily opening his eyes, stretching and yawning mightily, the small Indian man peers around. "Hm..." Moving into swift motion, he hops up onto his feet, and then points at Hinata. "I haven't been watching that closely, but it's fairly evident to me that your partner sucked so much, Terry fell asleep out of sheer boredom. You may have thusly defeated him on a technicality, but I assure you I won't go down so easily!"

Taking a few slow steps forward, it doesn't take Tran long to break into the best run he can manage in between the seats. Quickly growing frustrated, he just hops up onto the back of one and then leaps off of it toward Hinata, bringing both hands up in a single clenched ball, only to bring it crashing down toward her with all of his weight behind it.

COMBATSYS: Hinata blocks Tran's Strong Punch.

It takes Hinata a second to pick her jaw up again. For some reason, it never quite seems to sink in just how powerful some people really are until you see it again. Demonstrated so concretely. "Umm.. uh, yeah! You got it!" Her brain catches up after lagging behind for a bit and realizes she's been tagged in. She spares only a moment to tap the toes of her cross-trainers on the floor.

Time for some Taiyo resolve, yo! All she has to do is fight the weird dirty guy. ... Great. Maybe Kain didn't want to get his hands dirty, literally. Seriously, what is up with that? Would it be considered impolite to point it out?

"Maybe you should have been paying closer attention," Hinata shoots back, matching Tran's charge, bracing an upwards jump on a seat's armrest to bring the two fighters together in mid-air. Tran's double-handed strike meets Hinata's right palm before it can smash her head in. She grabs Tran's forearms and brings up her right foot to plant in his stomach and catapult him straight over her and toward a less forgiving wall. Momentum? You bet!

Pay close attention? Now why would Tran ever do a thing like that? "Wait, whaaAAAAAAAAAAaaaaa-" Maybe it would have come in handy just this once, as Hinata pretty much manages to have her way with Tran, sending him up against the wall with a grunt. He smashes into it face-first, interrupting his scream, and then more or less crumples to the ground. He's not down for long, however, as moments later he pops up back onto his feet, his nose bleeding liberally from the impact.

"Alrighd, I'll admid, thad was good, bud don'd expecd id do work dwice!" Sigh. It's so hard to make proper drama these days. Unmindful of the blood dripping all over himself, Tran charges right at Hinata again, looking to shoulder tackle her off the chair onto another chair for a momentary pin, to be followed by as much steam-backed punching as he can pack into her face.

COMBATSYS: Hinata dodges Tran's Man of Action.

Totally sweet! Hinata is so glad cameras are there to capture that particular move as she catapults Tran into the wall. It'll look awesome in instant replay when the DVD box set comes out. The next part isn't so skilled, tumbling a little awkwardly after the flipping kick. She catches the top of a row of seats, scrambles unsteadily for a moment, then finally regains her balance to stand atop them. See? It turned out fine! And it's the perfect little vantage point to play ninja as Tran comes steaming straight at her.

The Sunshine Girl vaults a split second before Tran's impact (Tranpact?) in an almost lazy forward flip by planting a palm on his shoulder before attempting to drive the heel of her right foot into the soft spot at the base of Tran's neck. Or anywhere on the head, really. It's all good. "Booyah!"

As Hinata pushes off of Tran all the better to kick Tran, Tran is most assuredly already preparing to trap her with a ploy so cunning, so insidious, that it cannot help but succeed. He spins as she flips, reaching into his coat with a grin. "Eat wrench, wench!" He then proceeds to yank his hand out and swing it around, quite noticeably without a wrench in it. "Wh-hrgk!"

That is the sound of Tran shouting in confused indignation, rapidly shifting into the sound a Tran makes after his face has been kicked. The man goes down into the chair, and despite its cushy softness, it hurts a lot.

Tran reels there for a moment, slowly rolling off onto the floor of the planetarium. He's feeling that one pretty hard.

Clunky tennis shoes land with an almost delicate sound on the planetarium floor a small distance away from Tran. Hinata made up for the lousy landing ealier! "Honestly, who says 'wench' anymore?" She pauses, one hand on her hip, to lean slightly forward and examine Tran's condition. "Next you'll be saying 'rue the day'."

She rubs at her nose with the back of one hand. "Get ready," the Taiyo girl offers helpfully. "Here I come!" Grabbing the back of a chair row, Hinata swings herself around to stand atop them again and takes off toward Tran's downed position, running lightly along the tops of the chair rows. With a rising shout that would make any professional wrestler proud, Hinata tumbles from the seattops and down into the aisle with Tran, a flying elbow drop aimed for his sternum.

Still rolling around on the ground while Hinata is sassing him, Tran cuts it out for long enough to see her bringing her elbow down at him. Well, that won't do. That won't do at all.

Tucking himself into a ball and rolling onto his back, Tran times it just right so that as Hinata comes down, his feet come up, his entire body acting as a spring to jam them into her torso. His cry is triumphant. "I RUED YOUR MOTHER!"

Shakily climbing up onto his feet afterward, blood streaming out of his nose, Tran manages to point at his opponent. "Twice!"

Tran's feet jackhammer into Hinata's stomach suddenly. That wasn't very expected, nor is it particularly pleasant when she finds herself thrown up in a soft arc and very painfully colliding with the giant star projector in the center of the room. The metal bolts holding it securely together squeak a little at the upset in balance. The system wasn't really designed with fighting in mind.

After a moment, she rises back to her feet, standing on top of the projector and obscuring part of the faux starlight it was projecting onto the domed ceiling. Lit up by a hundred tiny fireflies, Hinata stands in front of a large black silhouette of herself for a scant moment. It's like Batman and stuff.

"That's a lot of trash talk for just one hit," she calls down, crouching slightly to get a better fix on where Tran is. Finally, she lunges forward and straight off the projector, its frame making another unpleasant and expensive-sounding groan. Her right fist cocked back, it seems almost disappointingly obvious what she's going to do, but instead lands and throws a left jab at Tran's midsection. Hoping to catch him momentarily off-guard, the right cross comes back, a bright flicker of irridescent energy trailing from her knuckles.

COMBATSYS: Hinata successfully hits Tran with Rengekiken.

Still keeping his finger pointed directly at Hinata, Tran smirks. It probably doesn't have the intended effect, since his face is at this point a red mess from the nose down. Good thing Tran doesn't have a mirror on him. "The trash talk has just begun! By the time I'm finished, you're going to go running home crying!"

Interestingly enough, Tran stops talking at that point and prepares himself for incoming Hinata action. His arms lift, and then he takes a quick jab right in the gut, doubling him over ever so slightly enough for Hinata's other fist to deck him right in the chin. The impact sends Tran reeling, with the man barely catching himself on a seat. Shaking his head afterward, sending blood spattering all over the place, he turns back around and stands up straight, only stumbling a little as he does so.

With another shout, Tran brings his arm straight across his chest and then swings it around, sending a thin blade of steam several feet across screaming forward toward Hinata. "You've got no idea what's in store for you!"

COMBATSYS: Hinata overcomes American Hero Cutter from Tran with Kikou Shoutei.

Hianta had barely been waiting for Tran to recover before making her next attack. Just in case he wanted to say anything pithy, because fair's fair in banter, after all. But seeing his return attack, it just makes her smile a little bit. The darkened interior of the planetarium starts to brighten visibly around her. Small tendrils of bright yellow energy flow to gather between her palms, held back and just to one side in the classic 'charging' stance and forming a basketball-sized sphere between them.

No witty return quips, though. She just throws both palms forward and releases the growing sunflower fireball straight through Tran's steam attack. "Special delivery!" The intensely bright sunflower barrels through Tran's attack and keeps on going, Hinata pausing briefly to flex her right arm and put her left hand on her bicep. C'mon, tell her that wasn't cool!

COMBATSYS: Tran overcomes Kikou Shoutei from Hinata with Real American Hero Cutter.

Tran's response is worryingly simple, at first. He grins, showing a full, gleaming, healthy set of teeth. There's a maniacal gleam in his eye. "Sorry, girly...this package is getting returned to sender!" Sure, the response is kind of lame, but the attack makes up for it, at least.

Sweeping his arms back and forth wildly, as fast as he can manage, Tran sends a flurry of small steamy blades flying forward toward Hinata, the first couple slowing the sunflower, before one manages to take it down, opening the way for the many others rushing in behind it. It's almost like a solid stream of steam, with added benefit of being sharp, and Tran's laughing the whole time.

When he finishes, Tran flops back in one of the chairs. "Whew."

COMBATSYS: Hinata dodges Tran's Real American Hero Cutter.

"No fair!" is Hinata's immediate reaction to her patented (patented, mind you!) Wakaba special energy attack being redirected. The sunflower plows into the row of seats just in front of Hinata, actually detonating with a burst of heat and light. A few smoldered chairs and the unpleasant smell of burning synthetic upholstery fill the air, but it's not immediate that Hinata even got hit.

Because she didn't. Again displaying why she consistently gets an A+ in P.E., Hinata leap frogs straight over her own attack, legs splayed in a way that no self-conscious girl in a schoolgirl skirt ought to do. With a flutter of dark blue material, she lands right in front of the seated Tran and lifts the corner of her mouth in a pleased smile. "Hi there!" the Taiyo girl pipes while simultaneously cracking her knuckles. "Ready?"

The first action is that she winds up her right arm, fist bursting into bright red coiling flames up the length of her entire arm. "Set!" The schoolgirl then crouches low and attempts to spinning uppercut Tran right out of his comfy chair.

Whatever comes after "Set" is sure not to be pleasant.

COMBATSYS: Tran fails to reflect Rival Launcher EX from Hinata with Operation - Dr. Tran.

COMBATSYS: Tran can no longer fight.

"GO!"

The burning fist crunches solidly into the bottom of Tran's jaw, rocketing him upward several feet in defiance of quite a few laws of physics. But hey, whatever works. Hinata completes the first revolution of the rising dragon (inspired) punch, slamming her fist again into Tran's jaw to add a little more air time.

"Yahoo!" Hinata isn't nearly done, grabbing her opponent while still in mid-spin, taking him airborne and finally releasing him with a powerful double-footed kick to the stomach straight toward already bent metal railing separating the seating sections. It's almost enough just to hear the crunch, but the splintering property damage is just as good.

She lands lightly, still twirling a little and pausing to regain her balance. "Aww yeah!" Beaming brighter than the sun, the Taiyo girl pumps her fists in the air. There's no way Tran's getting up from that one!

Frowning in confusion, Tran starts to talk even as chi gathers around his hand. "Wait, what? I thought I ju-" Whatever Tran thinks is lost forever at that point, as Hinata's fist goes straight through his wispy, still insubstantial chi, plowing straight into his chi.

And then with the hurting and the kicking and the falling and the crashing and the unable to fight, oy vey! Still held up slightly by the bent railing, it seems Tran is getting up from that one, however! Pushing himself up slightly, he takes a step forward, bent over in pain, just barely standing.

"You...schoolgirl...argh!" And then there's a complete lack of motion for a few moments, before Tran just collapses, once again undone by his racial enemy.

The schoolgirl dusts her hands off, looking suspiciously at the smudgy stains on her hands and shoes. "Augh! Take a shower, old man!" She wipes the back of her hands on one of the remaining unbroken and unburnt chair's upholstery, but all it does it just smear whatever the stain is around.

Hinata offers a few more smiles for the cameras as they continue a little more coverage of the fight's aftermath. "See? That was much better."
