Description: Sagat vs Charlie in D.C. (Winner: Sagat)
Though it's winter here in the city of Washington, D.C., unlike Southtown, the city isn't blanketed by snow; the growing urban buildup has meant that, at least in the heart of the city, winter is more often marked by rains and sleets. Fortunately, the afternoon finds a clear day, the slow-setting sun touching facades and buildings and people and setting them glowing golden with healthy light; the ground is wet from a recent rain, however. And in front of the Lincoln Memorial, Neo League officials are busy roping off an area--a fairly large one--and setting up cameras. That's right folks, it's time for a league fight. This fight happens to be set not just in D.C., but in front of the famous Lincoln Memorial itself--god knows what the Neo League had to do to get permission to stage a fight here, but they managed.
To Charlie, standing at one end of the makeshift arena, being in his country's capital city is refreshing and inspiring; the sight of the statue of Abraham Lincoln, gazing down at him like a giant god from his throne of marble, awesome and perhaps a little terrifying. But all that shows on his face is a grin; truly, he's just happy to be back home for once, so to speak, and there's a growing crowd of wellwishers, people who know who he is--and people who just know he's an American. He knows his fight card, though, and thinking about his opponent certainly causes him to grow a little somber. Charlie is, he knows, in for one hell of a fight.
On his whirlwind tour of the world, the Master of Muay Thai has found himself in Washinton D.C., USA. The Capital of the United States is certainly a tourist destination, thus why Sagat has an interest in it. The Muay Thai master will tour later, he's here on business. Is it Shadaloo business? Maybe some time later, but right now, it's League Business. He stands outside the makeshift arena as well, on the opposite side of Charlie's. Sagat turns his head to look towards the Lincoln Memorial. He gives a thoughful nod before removing his coat and tossing it to the side. It falls to the ground in a neat pile and the big man starts to tighten the wrappings around his arms. Sagat stares towards Charlie now. Interesting match up.
Certainly Sagat would have something to say about slavery--about freedom. It would be an interesting thing to discuss with the Muay Thai emperor over a beer or two. But the day that happens is probably far-off... though Charlie does hope it can happen someday. In the meantime, he's a fight to fight... seeing Sagat get ready, Charlie raises his fists in a traditional 'fighter's greeting' to the large man, and steps up to his starting mark. Already, even before the fight starts, Charlie's concentrating his mind on Sagat... and then the announcer shouts, barely heard above the crowd even with his microphone and amplification.
"BEGIN!"
But Charlie just watches Sagat.

After the wrappings have been tightened, the Muay Thai God meanders towards the arena and steps into it, moving over the barriers and ropes that seperate it from the crowd that is gathering to watch. Sagat starts to lightly jog in place once he's in the ring, to stretch out his legs. As he does this, his arms shake at his sides to make them more limber and ready to go for the match ahead. As this is done, the words 'BEGIN' ring out around this area of D.C. and Sagat watches Charlie to see if he makes the first move. He does not. Looks like Charlie has not learned. The Mighty Thai runs forward to meet Charlie head to head, "URRAAAH!" shouts Sagat as he grunts as he throws a wicked kick towards the Vigilante.
COMBATSYS: Charlie endures Sagat's Light Kick.

Learned? Perhaps not. Charlie can be awfully stubborn and bullheaded at times, a fact that was of no end of frustration for some of his colleagues in the military. Still, you'd think he'd move... Sagat's kick comes in and Charlie takes it, feeling the crunch of a successful hit... but Sagat might realize that Charlie wasn't -just- hit.. it's as if he were expecting the attack and accounted for it. Charlie's response is just as swift; he snaps out a fist, seeking to return Sagat's hit in kind, aimed at the Thai man's chest.
COMBATSYS: Sagat endures Charlie's Quick Punch.

And the match has begun. The Tiger has started off the fight with a mighty swift kick towards the powerful Vigilante. Sagat feels the blow hit home exactly as he wanted it too. he also noticed no attempt to dodge or block was made. The experienced warrior tenses almost immediately after landing his kick, expecting some pain from Charlie. And that pain comes in the form of a swift punch. Sagat as he tenses start to duck. As he goes down, the punch slams into Sagat's shoulder. However it is not enough to stop the Muay Thai God, he just keeps moving. Once he's ducked down, he springs back up, "TI-GER UPPERRRRCUT!" The big man's body arcs up into the air, fist flying ahead of him as he rockets skyward!
COMBATSYS: Charlie fails to interrupt Tiger Uppercut from Sagat with Step Kick.

Sagat 0/-------/---====|===----\-------\0 Charlie
Charlie shifts forward just after his punch hits, intending to follow up the attack--but Sagat's just a bit too fast for that, and Charlie is instead rocked by the powerful uppercut, sent flying back, landing on his back and flipping over on the bounce--to the disappointed and surprised 'ooh' of the crowd. A good hit, surely--Charlie rises quickly, however, rubbing his chest with a slight frown before taking up his stance again.
Sagat lands from his signature manuever, and he does not spend any time congradulating himself for the successful landing of his uppercut. He's back on the move, trying to overwhelm the Vigilante with his speed, size and ferocity. The Muay Thai God is running at full steam, as he's trying to give Charlie little time to think about how to react to Sagat's offensive strategy. As Sagat closes in, he will swing a leg forward and twist his body at the ball of his foot. A powerful sidekick is sent careening towards Charlie's location, directed for his upper chest or even neck.
COMBATSYS: Charlie blocks Sagat's Medium Kick.

Unfortunately for Sagat, Charlie's neck is not a valid target. Charlie catches the snapping kick on a forearm, giving only a few inches of bend as the kick hits; immediately he grabs for that leg, attempting to take it before Sagat can retract, and to use it as leverage to throw Sagat off his feet.
COMBATSYS: Sagat blocks Charlie's Strong Throw.

Sagat 0/-------/--=====|====---\-------\0 Charlie
The Thai Man's leg is caught by the Vigilante, and this is a situation that Sagat has been put into often in his career. It's the obvious response to one of his kicks. Catch his leg, attempt to either toss him, or destroy his base by kicking his other leg. In any case, Sagat is ready with a defense after years of this tactic being utilized against him. As Charlie shifts his weight and moves to throw Sagat, he pulls his leg and twists. However Charlie is a bit faster and stronger than he anticipated, so Sagat is thrown off balance and he wrenches his knee. Sagat hops back away from Charlie and shakes out that leg, trying to releive the pain. Sagat smirks as he looks down at the Soldier, "TIGER-" He rushes towards Charlie and leaps into the air. He careens towards Charlie, knee first, at an incredible pace. "-CRUSH!" He says while airborne.
COMBATSYS: Charlie interrupts Tiger Crush from Sagat with Step Kick.

Sagat 1/-------/=======|====---\-------\0 Charlie
Another one of Sagat's attacks--while not his 'signature' move, it's certainly a familiar one. Charlie has no intention of just being hit with this one, this time--he steps into it, kicking out, his booted foot aimed to impact Sagat's rising -knee-... to stop the attack before it can fully come out. And in this he is successful; though he bounces back from the attack he doesn't seem to be too badly off for the trading of hits.
The Tiger Crush is usually quite fast and catches an opponent off guard. Sagat made a mistake. He thought Charlie would fall before it like so many other fighters that the Muay Thai Legend hs met. Charlie proves to Sagat that he's a bit more powerful... a bit more skilled than Sagat thought. Sagat shout learn from that. And he does! After the kick from Charlie, the Legend hops back and to the side to avoid any other counter-attacks. He only hesitates a moment as he thinks of how to best move forward. Charlie has successfully interrupted Sagat's strategy. But not for long! Sagat rushes forward again, aiming to keep Charlie defensive. He aims to thrust a knee into Charlie's midsection, and then slam both of his forearms into the back of Charlie if he doubles over from the knee!
COMBATSYS: Charlie dodges Sagat's Fierce Punch.

Sagat 1/------=/=======|====---\-------\0 Charlie
After his success in repelling the knee of the Muay Thai Emperor, at least one person in the crowd hopes that Charlie's not going to be like that big American dude from Bloodsport, going and thinking the fight's won. And he doesn't; Sagat's knee comes in but Charlie hops backwards--actually putting his hands on that knee and using Sagat's momentum to push himself out of the way of the rest of the attack. And then he springs forward again, lashing out with a high, swift kick aimed at Sagat's chin.
COMBATSYS: Sagat blocks Charlie's Light Kick.

Sagat 1/------=/=======|====---\-------\0 Charlie
The Tiger doesn't feel that satisfying crunch that was supposed to be Charlie's spin cracking under his heavy blow. Either he failed to aim for the right location of the Vigilante or Charlie managed to evade his strikes. Good for him! Bad for Sagat. Charlie lashed out at the Thai Mountain with a kick of his own. Sagat raised an arm to meet the incoming boot. It absorbs the blow and deflects it to the side. As the boot is deflected, Sagat attempts the same technique that Charlie utilized on him moments ago. He tries to grasp the extended leg. Sagat then tries to kick Charlie's other leg out from under him and then hurl him to the side!
COMBATSYS: Charlie endures Sagat's Quick Throw.

Most of the pain comes from Sagat's kicking Charlie's leg out from under him; as he's thrown he rolls with the impact, making one quick revolution on the ground before springing up. Charlie lunges forward, for the Muay Thai Emperor, intending to show Sagat that he's not the only one who can play with his knees; Charlie's arms seek to grab Sagat by the neck and then introduce his knees to the Thai's gut in an attack very reminiscent of Sagat's Tiger Rage--but he ends the attack, should it work, by twisting to throw Sagat away afterwards.
COMBATSYS: Sagat dodges Charlie's Knee Gatling.

Sagat 1/------=/=======|======-\-------\0 Charlie
The Tiger's flawless execution of the throw gained a few OOoohs and Ahhs from the crowd. Though the Thai warrior is well known, most people in the crowd are rooting for the 'Local Boy'. When it's an American vs anyone else, they tend to root for the American. Unless they are hardcore fight enthusiasts! Sagat raises his hands up and clenches them after tossing Charlie to the side. He's prepared for a counter assault. It's hard to maintain his quick offensive strategy when you throw your opponent away! As Charlie comes at him, Sagat backpedals and hops to the side to avoid getting grasped. Once out of harms way, Sagat runs forward to catch Charlie off guard with a quick series of powerful blows, "TIGERRRRR-" shouts Sagat as he starts to kick at Charlie. Serveral powerful sweeps and then his foot ignites into flames with focused chi power, "-RAAAAAAID!" he shouts as he sweeps the flaming leg towards Charlie and lunges forward!
COMBATSYS: Charlie interrupts Tiger Raid from Sagat with Step Kick.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > ///////////// ]
Sagat 0/-------/-----==|======-\-------\0 Charlie
It's a desperate moment; Sagat's Tiger Raid is already a fast, ultra-scary attack, and Charlie can tell that Sagat's putting even more into it. He gets an idea--a flash of insight--and once again he steps forward, throwing caution to the wind, kicking out---and catching Sagat just before the attack goes off, somehow, taking him out of it. Charlie will seem as surprised as anyone else--maybe even more so than Sagat.
The Tiger Raid is countered by Charlie's step kick once again. The Mighty Thai Warrior's second most powerful assault is met with... a simple Step kick. Sagat staggers backwards and grumbles to himself. No matter. Sagat is not going to be daunted by Charlie's successful counter to his Raid. The Tiger rushes forward towards the Vigilante, shouting, "HRRAAAAAH!" focusing his anger and power into the upcoming attack. That attack comes in the form of a series of elbow strikes. First there's a cross with the left arm, a jab punch with the other arm and finally an upward swinging elbow strike aimed at the Soldier's chin.
COMBATSYS: Sagat successfully hits Charlie with Medium Punch.

Sagat 0/-------/----===|=======\-------\1 Charlie
Almost definitely, it's that surprise that does Charlie in in this exchange; all three elbow strikes hit, creating an instant storm of pain for the American warrior. He lands hard, grunting, and though he kips back to his feet it's not as fast, or as smooth, as previous risings. Though Charlie still looks in the game... he actually backs off after he lands from the attack... looks like he's trying to regain some of his strength.
COMBATSYS: Charlie takes a breather.

The Vigilante took the blows real well! Like a man! Sagat would admire that if he wasn't still fuming over the Vigilante avoiding his early demise by the Tiger Raid. Oh yea... sagat did not take that well, so those elbow strikes were only the beginning of the massive man's wrath! As Charlie takes his little break, Sagat is pushing forward. He rushes towards Charlie and leaps into the air. He looks to be doing the Tiger Crush again, but there's no proclamation of the attack. He continues to fly towards Charlie and when he gets really close, a leg is extended out in a flying sweeping kick meant to slam into the Soldier's head!

Though Charlie appears to be resting--he's still paying attention, and so Sagat's flying kick is responded to with a cross-forearm block; he uses the force of Sagat's kick to help himself be propelled a short distance away from the Muay Thai stylist. Even before he lands, both his hands are glowing with energy; as he lands, he cries out "SONIC BREAK!" and suddenly, whirling blades of white chi are lashing out towards Sagat, the one-eyed man having to contend with five projectiles in all.

The Muay Thai God lowers his body into a crouched position. His arms are raised to cover his chest and head and one leg is positioned so that it's tensed muscles will absorb the incoming attack. They are absorbed, the powerful Sonic Break chi projectiles slams into the weathered warrior's frame. Sagat growls and thrusts his arms forward after the final Sonic boom strikes him, "TIGER!" Shouts the massive man as he hurls a flaming crescent of chi towards Charlie now!
COMBATSYS: Charlie endures Sagat's Low Tiger Shot.

The chi slams into Charlie, the crescent wave crushing and painful; when the smoke clears, so to speak, Charlie's barely standing. But, oddly, he has a grin on his face--twisted from pain and fatigue, but a grin nonetheless.
"As always, Sagat, you prove yourself to be one of the best warriors around." Pure respect, from the American, and then he forces his legs to move, pushing himself forward, leaping up and shouting a fierce, wordless battle cry as he throws himself into a classic wrestling dropkick at Sagat.
COMBATSYS: Charlie successfully hits Sagat with Heavy Kick.

Sagat 1/------=/=======|===----\-------\0 Charlie
The flaming crescent of energy careened through the air and it finds its mark by slamming into the awaiting Charlie. Sagat stands after the attack and is prepared to move forward and press his attack further. However Charlie's words actually catch him more off guard than any attack he has thrown his way. Sagat just gives the other man a nod in response and gets back into his stance. Charlie comes at him and the kick is powerful. It slams into him hard and he doubles over... or so it seems. He shouts, "TIGER CRUSH!" quickly and leaps at point blank range at Charlie, knee first and threatening to destroy Charlie's midsection.
But wait, there's more! ... more for Charlie, anyways; after his kick lands, he is actually in a good position to... well... get -flat- to the ground, to watch Sagat go flying past.... and before the man is quite done landing, Charlie's reversed his position, leaping up, attempting to grab Sagat before he can come down from the Tiger Crush--and use the force of landing to bury his shoulder into something soft and do some damage.
COMBATSYS: Charlie successfully hits Sagat with Flying Buster Drop.

Again, Sagat meets no resistance other than air resistance. This is wrong because Sagat was supposed to have his knee slam into Charlie's midsection and totally take him out of this fight and win Sagat this match. The Tiger growls and is angry even before he hits the ground. Of course he'll be even angrier when he hits the ground. Charlie manages to quickly grab ahold of Sagat. Now this super speedy move, Charlie was able to dodge and grab Sagat and then slam him into the ground. This makes Sagat livid, "TI-GERRRR-" He shouts as he gets up off the ground and launches into yet another Tiger Crush. When he lands, he's moving again. A series of punches follow the Tiger Crush. The Legend shouts, "GENO-CIDE!" and the series of moves ends with a couple of devesting Tiger Uppercuts!

Apparently, the inspiration of fighting in the shadow of one of America's most famous freedom fighters has finally touched Charlie, sparking fire deep in his heart! Running on empty, he still manages to dodge away from the Tiger Crush--though it looks less skillful than almost drunken, at this point--and once again, Charlie attempts to retaliate, taking a few steps forward and leaping, attempting to connect a knee to Sagat's chest.
COMBATSYS: Sagat blocks Charlie's Light Kick.

NOTHING BUT AIR! The crowd is going nuts. Sagat's ultimate manuever is merely... dodged by the Vigilante! An anger enhanced, chi pumped, powerful series of strikes from the Muay Thai Legend himself is dodged. What Charlie just dodged has put individuals into the hospital. It's something that could devestate most fighters and end fights. The Tiger does not like feel nothing but wind resistance when his limbs lash out to crush into someone's body. Charlie follows up the Genocide with a lashing out of his own leg. Sagat is running on rage and adrenaline right now. An arm is thrust upwards to block and toss aside the offending leg. The Muay Thai Legend growls and lashes out at Charlie with one of his own kicks. It's almost as if the Thai Mountain is going to punt Charlie like a football. Watch the low shots!
COMBATSYS: Sagat successfully hits Charlie with Light Kick.

The kick takes Charlie right in the stomach--no amount of luck aids him here, the punt-kick striking--if not apocalyptically hard, enough to take Charlie down. But before he goes down, hissing in pain, he strikes out with both fists at Sagat--hoping to take the clearly-drained Emperor of Muay Thai with him. It's been an epic fight, and there's almost nothing Charlie regrets about it.

This has been quite the epic fight between the two combatants. Luckily for the two of them this fight is stripped of all the Shadaloo vs Vigilante elements that their fights have been muddled with as of late. As Sagat kicks Charlie, the Muay Thai God brings up his guard. He knows Charlie's not going to go down quietly! He's going to get up and try something before finally falling, Sagat knows it. He knew the Vigilante did not have much steam left and he's keenly aware an attack is going to come! When Charlie swings, Sagat's arms move to intercept the fist. His muscles absorb the blow and throw it to the side, Sagat backs up with the fist and to allow Charlie to drop. Sagat shouts, "NO!" As the attack comes, "I WILL WIN!" The big man shouts this in total defiance to what his body wants him to do... and that is fall. The Tiger remains standing!
