Description: A League battle in the jungles of Africa! Kensou faces off with the mysterious (to him, anyway) Juli, and puts a stop to his recent losing streak with a high-risk, skin-of-his-teeth victory. (Winner: Kensou)
The jungle. They want Juli to fight in the jungle. Home of humidity and heat and trees and elephants. To say nothing of the smaller things, the little things that like to crawl into your body, make a home there, and then a few days later you're spitting out your own tongue in a gout of blood. All that aside, there's one advantage as far as Juli's concerned.
It's no where near as damned cold as Japan is right now.
Far more used to the heat of Thailand jungle than she is to Japan snow, Juli's dressed for the weather in loose fitting clothes, mostly of silk and cotton mix. Of course, it keeps most of her body covered. SOme of the little buggers will be just as happy to latch onto your skin and suck away as they are to crawl inside you and create havok.
Jeez, don't talk about that sort of thing! That's /creepy/! Kensou doesn't even want to think about what sort of crazy bugs or animals might be out here; he /much/ prefers the city. The Psycho Soldier, of course, is wearing his usual fighting outfit, which means shorts and a t-shirt! It's way, way too hot to be wearing anything more than that. "Whew," he mutters, wiping some of the sweat off his brow with the back of one gloved hand, looking around at the space in which they're expected to fight, and the Neo League crew who, well... Look like they're here to film a National Geographic documentary. "Man, I can't believe they're serious 'bout this," Kensou adds to himself, with a resigned sigh. "So, guess that means you're the one I'm supposedta fight?" he wonders, amicably enough, of the more fully clad Juli.
Juli nods her head slowly, brushing a hand over the khaki sleeve of her blouse. By the way she's dressed, you could easily mistake her for one of the national geographic photographers loitering around. Thin airy blouse, khaki pants. About the only thing she's missing is the hat, it clashes with her hair. Nodding her head slowly, Juli considers Kensou for a moment then replies. "I believe so. We are likely the only non native in the area who isn't carrying a camera." Despite the change in her clothing, and the different local, some things remain quite the same. Juli's monotone voice is one of them.
Maybe so, but there's just something about other fighters that... Stands out. They're not like everybody else, and at least to Kensou it's noticeable. "Great!" he says, and he's definitely /not/ the sort to speak in an inflectionless monotone. Instead, he grins broadly at Juli, while dropping into his fighting stance with a bit of a flourish; he stands sidelong, his feet a bit wider than shoulder width apart, leading with his left hand. His left hand is extended loosely, balled into a fist and held palm up, while his right fist is held casually, close to his chest. "Good luck to ya, then," Kensou adds, amicably enough, with a nod to the official to show that /he/, at least, is ready to go.

Juli nods to the official as well. It's only a short bit of a nod because she has other things to do. Most importantly, she has a fight to attend to, and she's not going to spend it being distracted by niceties to the judges, or the national geographic types that are starting to congegrate. There's a crowd almost anywhere for a fight, Juli's begining to realize.
Keeping her distance away from Kensou, Juli takes a breath, basking in the prefight tension, and eyes Kensou steadily. he's another psycho user, Juli knows.. so her strongest weapon loses a certain amount of usefulness. She'll have to be clever tonight.

On the other hand, Kensou knows absolutely nothing about Juli! Which is prompting him to be a bit more careful than usual, too; that, and his recent string of losses. Exhaling slowly, the Psycho Soldier shifts his weight lightly on his feet, staying constantly ready to move as he watches the mysterious girl closely. Looks like this is one of those fights that's going to start with the two participants staring each other down for a few long moments.

Oddly enough, Juli's quite good at tihs staring thing. Indeed, one would accuse her of being .too. good at it. Certainly, her expression changes little as she dashes towards Kensou. She's still staring as she attempts to wrap her arms around his waist... It's not that she's interested in getting close and personal to Kensou, it's that she wants to throw him over her head in a suplex. She'll probably be staring even as she deals with the after affects of her attack.

Ha ha ha, but Kensou is totally ready for Juli's attack! ...Except not really, it seems, as not only does he get suplexed, but he also fails to get his arms up in time to block the brunt of the impact, so instead he gets a solid dose of PAIN. "Geh!" exclaims the Psycho Soldier, flopping to his back and... Not even /trying/ to hop back to his feet. Instead he rolls onto his hands, arms crossed at the wrists, and then hurls himself diagonally upwards at Juli in a quickly spinning kick combination, trying to smash her with both feet. "Hyaa-!"

Apparently, Juli was ready for the counter attack, and it's a clash of feet against feet, one of Juli's long legs coming down to meet Kensou's. They both take damage, that's for sure, but Juli gets the faint satisfaction, as if that mattered much to her, of knowing that Kensou didn't get away with his counter attack scott free. Shifting on her feet again, Juli brings her hands back to a defensive position, starting to bounce lightly on her heels.
"Heh," chuckles Kensou as he gets back to his feet. Sure, getting kicked back hurt... But he's taken worse. He slides easily back into his fighting stance, considering his options briefly... And then he makes his decision, bringing his hands up in front of his face. For the briefest of moments energy gathers, before Kensou sweeps his arms outwards, a sphere of blue-tinged white Psycho Power forming in midair, hurtling towards Juli! "Choukyuudan!" the Chinese youth cries as he fires off his attack.

An energy attack, psycho power. Juli quickly realizes by the feel of the energy as it grows that she has little to fear from Kensou's attack, as weak as her psycho power is, she'll willingly test her ability to withstand it against anyone else. As long as they aren't wearing scarves--that attempt hurt quite badly last time. Thrusting a hand forward, Juli catches that sphere in her hand, absorbing a good amount of its power in a reddish glow of her own.
"That is sufficient." Juli comments after Kensou's attack. "Your control of psychopowe ris not entirely inadequate." As to Juli's psychopower, Kensou will have to wait a little more to see this. For now, Juli's remaining with the basics.
Copying a technique she picked up recently, Juli makes a grab for Kensou's arm. If she makes it, she'll twist it around his back briefly, then slam a knee into the small of his back for good measure.

There's a faint sound of annoyance from Kensou as Juli manages to avoid the brunt of his Psycho Power attack - using some energy of her own, which is a new one by him - but it's not like he's going to let that get him down, no way! "Well, I learned from the best!" Kensou replies cheekily, before he deftly flips out of the way of Juli's grabbing attempt. Yeah, he'll /not/ stand around so she can do that. Mind you, he has no idea where she gets the license to talk about Psycho Power from, but obviously there have to be other teachers than just Chin, right? After all, there's that crazy big-chinned freakmo, Vega or whatever. "But you're gonna havta be faster'n that if you're gonna beat somebody like me!" he tells her, tensing and letting out a deep breath as he's suddenly surrounded by a whirlwind of tiny blue lights, like fireflies, that spin around him, gathering Psycho Power. "Haaaaaaaa--!"

The best? that strikes even Juli as funny, though she's loath to show it during a fight. The best indeed. With Kensou pulling back to let psycho power wash over him, Juli continues after him, True, the first throw missed, but there's more where that came from. She demonstrates by making another grab for his shoulder, a foot reaching out behind him so she can throw him off balance.

This time, though, Kensou doesn't even make an attempt to avoid Juli's throw; indeed, he gets put off balance by the grab and trip, and it seems he's headed towards the ground! But he uses the time in which he's falling to swing his foot at the Doll's head, before he strikes the ground and rolls out of the way, hopefully, of any further reprisals. "Yaaa-!"

And that leg's neatl avoided, Juli dropping down underneath the path of Kensou's blow. Bracing herself with her hand, she waits until Kensou's commited to pulling his leg back before she springs another attack. Moving from her crouched position, Juli pushes herself a few feet off of the ground. Managing to pull herself almost upside down in the attack, an all too fast backflip giving her the momentum she needs, Juli lashes out with a foot at the apex of her flip, the same red psycho power flaring up around it.

Aw crap, that doesn't look very good at all. Actually, a few of Juli's techniques look, well... /Familiar/ to Kensou. "Tch," says he, dodging Juli's attack by bare inches, using his hand to shove himself out of the way. "Heh, sorry, sorry. Guess you weren't expectin' it to go that way, huh?" he wonders with a laugh, before hopping spryly to his feet. His next move? Get in as close as he can to the Doll, feinting with a quick pair of punches - with no weight behind them at all - before he tries to bury his shin in the girl's midsection in a vicious kick. "Hyaaa-!"

Getting close to Juli seems to be more difficult than Kensou intended. Further, Juli seems to realize almost right away that those punches are mere feints for the real attack. Giving those light punches just enough attention that she manages to deflect them away, Juli keeps herself in a position to do something about the .real. blow that he's trying to hide with these. And there it is. Sidestepping around it, Juli tsks, then gets some distance between her and Kensou again, her gaze turning into a flat stare again, back to analyzing his style for weak points.

Is Kensou upset that he was avoided? Impressed? It's difficult to tell, really! He watches her go, watches her standing over there sizing him up again. Well, clearly she wants to stay in control of the momentum of the fight - and so far, she sort of has been - but that doesn't mean Kensou has to sit there and /let it happen/. Instead he glances around... And then gets a big ol' grin on his face, as he spies a nice-sized rock. Dashing towards it, he does a bit of a slide, kicking the rock at the last moment... Right towards Juli's head! His favourite sport? Soccer, of course.

A rock. A large, ungainly rock flying towards her head. This cannot be allowed to happen. Finding a rock of her own, Juli picks it up and .hurls. it at Kensou's kicked rock. It works better than Juli expected it to... not only does her rock shatter Kensou's, but it continues on its path to smack the boy in his head. Juli, for her part, just smirks. Almost.

Okay, so. This seems to, once again, really not be Kensou's day. But he's not giving up! Not even when he gets clocked by that rock. "Gehi!" he exclaims, as his head rocks back, the rock bouncing off and landing behind him. Owwww. "Dammit," he mutters, reaching behind his back. "You're pretty good," he admits. "But there's no way you can stand up t' what's comin' next... My SUPER SECRET FORBIDDEN CERTAIN DEATH ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE!!" Whatever it is, it must be mighty...! Actually, it appears to be Kensou reaching behind his back, and pulling out a meat bun, which he then eats. That's anticlimactic, huh?
Eating during combat? Juli just shakes her head a little. How sloppy, especially after that leadup. Juli was almost thinking she had to dodge something again, but Kensou ruins that by stuffing his face. Hopefully he'll choke on his meatbun. As long as Kensou's slacking off by porking out, Juli'll concentrate on something far more nurturing, allowing her psychopower to flare out around her, drawing on her internal reserves while Kensou wolfs down his food.

Yeah, how sloppy! Kensou chows down, even going so far as to lick his fingers, except... Right before Juli's very eyes, Kensou's most visible injuries simply... Fade away, as if by magic. In fact, he looks quite refreshed, as though he'd barely been fighting at all. "Ahhh," says Kensou, patting his stomach. "Ahh! Sorry for keepin' you waitin' like that," he says with a grin, before taking off like a shot towards Juli again. He honestly doesn't seem the least bit bothered by the flareup of Psycho Power, instead contenting himself to leap almost completely horizontally at Juli, extending his left knee and elbow! "Yo-!" If that hits, even by impacting the girl's guard, he twists his waist to try and smash his other knee into her midsection. "Yaa-!" and if /that/ hits, he keeps right on twisting, swinging his left heel - leg now extended - at the side of her head in a big roundhouse strike. "Hyaa-!"

A nice barrage of attacks, and this time Juli's not up to the task of blocking them all. Feet flying from every direction at once, Juli's attempts to block one attack merely ends up with the other going through and easily blowing through any defense she manages to bring up right away. When it's all done, Juli's collected a nice collection of bruises. She's still quite on her feet, however. Stepping backwards, Juli tsks lightly under her breath. This boy's good, clearly .. but she has a few things in mind for him.

Flipping acrobatically back and away after the last kick, Kensou lands spryly on his feet. And... Look at Juli, she's still standing right there! Sticky. Sticky and hot and not the least bit pleasant to be plastered with. Fortunately, she's managed to get her arms up in time to avoid the bulk of the attack. She's definately going to need a new shirt though, between the jungle grass stains and the pizza stains ... Juli's just ruined another outfit the first day she wore it.
Ignoring bits of pizza cheese dangling off of her arms, Juli makes another grab for the boy again. This time, it's her fist that leads the attack, her hand closed tightly as she seeks to drive it in Kensou's gut. Right where that meatbun's trying to digest.

Hey, what the...! Kensou gets nailed right in the gut despite an attempt to get out of the way, but losing his lunch is not something he would ever do. He does breathe out a violent rush of air, though, staggering back and away from Juli. Owww. Well, he totally thought he'd be able to avoid /that/. No such luck, it seems. Time to consider a new strategy, as he stands his ground, back in his fighting stance, watching Juli /very/ closely indeed.

Then Kensou gets a good look at what's coming next. This time, though, Juli's putting the kid gloves away. Ignoring the further damage to her suit, Juli drops down and .flies. forward in a trajectory so low and fast that it can't be natural. She flies forward a few feet, her body spiraling in mid air as she tries to drill her feet into Kensou's legs. If that hits, it's just the start ...

Oh /crap/. Kensou doesn't think he can manage to get out of the way in time, and he doesn't even really /try/; instead, the boy stands his ground, gritting his teeth, and while the first strike lands - and hurts like the bajeezus, actually! - it seems to knock Kensou /away/ from the rest of Juli's intended combination. Yes, it seems like Kensou's clumsiness is going to save his ass, as he falls towards the ground... Except that he catches himself suddenly with his hand, forestalling the rest of Juli's assault with a vicious pair of kicks to the face, one from each foot. "Hya-! Ha-!" he calls, knocking the Doll away, and then hopping back to his feet, looking a bit winded. Whew.
Collecting her bruises, Juli rolls backwards to a three point stance, then slowly raises to her feet. That, unfortunately, was a huge waste of time and effort it would seem. Not only that, but now Juli's the one starting to feel like she's being beat around.
There's only one thing to do for that. Focusing on her psycho power, Juli lets the power wash over and through her. There's no denying that glow for what it is, blood red in color, it wraps around her entire body, pulsing slightly with some internal beat as it starts to heal her wounds.
Whoa there, hang on just a second! That hardly seems fair! ...Except that he can do the same trick, too, so okay, maybe it is fair. Kensou recognises what she's probably doing, too, his brows raising... And a slow grin spreading across his face. "Heh, ain't that always the way?" he wonders of nobody in particular. In all likelihood, he can't keep her from recovering, but he /can/ run straight at her, and then try and put a foot on her thigh to propel himself up higher, and attempt to kick her in the head with his other foot. So... That's exactly what he does!

And Juli catches that blow straight in the chest, undoing most of the good healing herself did. Coughing up blood, Juli staggers backwards, her stare turning into something closer to a glare. This is ridiculous, she will NOT be beat by this ... boy. Focusing her thoughts on the task before her, Juli brings one of her feet up , trying to send it crashing back down on Kensou's head.

Crashing back down on Kensou's head... Check! The Psycho Soldier attempts /something/, that much is clear as he starts to lift a leg, but he gets forestalled by Juli's feet hitting him int he head and knocking him flat on his front. "Ow," he pronounces, sagely. Yeah, that's embarassing. Good thing nobody can tell exactly what he was trying to do there, or it'd be even worse!
And with Kensou laying on the ground like that, Juli kneels down to clock the guy on the back of his head. This fight is being .. entirelly too close. Hopefully she can finish it with this, if not .. well, then Juli'll have to think of something else.

Hey, that is so not cool. Kensou twists onto his back at the last second, and Juli's fist impacts against his forearm. "Hittin' a guy while he's down? What kinda fighter are you?" he wonders, knocking Juli's fist aside and getting to his feet in a whirling motion, spinning a quick backfist at the girl's head. "Ha-!" With his /big/ ending forestalled, the best he can do is hope to wear her down, it seems!

Apparently, she's a girl that doesn't want to be hit. Ducking underneath Kensou's wild punch, Juli lashes out with an elbow at Kensou's chest. Another weak attack, to be certain, but this close into the fight, Juli's not wanting to leave herself open by trying something big. If she was staring before, her expression seems locked in place now. She's hearing nothing but the charge of psycho power rushing through her body, seeing nothing but ways to attack and inflict damage on her opponent.

But you know what? Kensou can be a risk-taker when he needs to be. Like, say, ohh... When he's getting tired and knows that all the damage he's taken so far in this fight has just about put him away. So Kensou keeps twisting as Juli ducks, and the elbow connects with his chest - very, very lightly. Again, it seems, Kensou is falling back from the strike, catching himself on one hand at the last moment, and again he kicks at her head, once and a second time, to knock her away /again/. That's what happens when you get in close with a kung fu fighter, Juli. Hopping back off of his hand, he lands on his feet, watching Juli warily to see what happens next...!
She almost doesn't even notice the warning signs in the back of her head, the one that're blaring 'going down, going down going down'. She's still locked into her target, the punishing kicks she's received pushing her away again. Like a cockroach though, she's too tuned into her survival to notice she's just had her head all but kicked clear off of her body. Carrying on the attack, Juli goes for the axe kick again. Falling Arc, it's called.. And how appropriate, after this, the girl's definately going to fall.

Oh man, oh man. What's a guy to do? Kensou gets his arms up over his head when that axe kick comes down, Juli's leg impacting his crossed forearms. It stings, sure, but it's a lot less than getting booted in the head would, and then he shoves the girl's foot away, letting her fall. Breathing raggedly, Kensou is battered and bruised now, but... He's still standing, which leads to the League official declaring the Psycho Soldier the winner of this match! "Heh," he says down at the fallen Juli, with a grin. "You're good...
