Neo League 026 - #27: Kensou vs Clark

Description: Eager to try and pick up a win after his League loss to Sakura, Kensou gets into a fight with one of the Ikari Warriors. Unfortunately for Kensou, Clark proves to be more than a match for him tonight...! (Winner: Clark)

Clearly, it's NEO FIGHTING LEAGUE MADNESS.

The park plays host to a Neo League crew this fine December afternoon, with the air crisp, the sky empty and blue, and the trees all but entirely bare of foliage. No, they're nowhere near Seijyun High; in a more central area of the park, barricades have been set up, along with the expected camera crew and security, to provide the fighters with enough room. Schools having only just let out, and most people still in work, the crowd isn't /enormous/, but... Well, it could certainly be worse! They surround the barricades, which have cleared out a fairly large area, certainly enough for the purposes of most combatants; the 'floor' of the fighting area is just gently sloping grassed turf, the greenery somewhat browned with winter close on the horizon. It's sort of peaceful, really.

Peaceful enough that even the energetic Sie Kensou can't help but think that a nap might be pretty nice. But there's no time, no time! This might be his second fight in as many days, the Chinese fighter having volunteered in a hurry out of a desire to make up for yesterday's loss to Sakura Kasugano, but he's ready, and raring to go: Just look at Kensou stretching there, making sure he's all limbered up for the fight. Once he's done his admittedly rather lazy and cursory stretching exercises, the Psycho Solder flashes a thumbs up at the League official standing by the side of the 'ring', who nods. Now they just need his opponent, and the fight can get all kinds of underway.

This would be Clark's first fight in the league, and his first opponent was supposed to be a kid, though one he'd seen on the SNFs of late. While Clark hadn't really bothered to analyze the kid's fighting style, he knew well enough that despite his youth, he was formidable as a fighter, so that sat just fine with the big Ikari mercenary. Clark arrives a bit before the match is scheduled to actually start, lumbering up in his usual gear with his hands in his pockets, looking for all the world like... well, a brick. Clark was good at appearing like that, at least. Moving into the ring past the barricades, he gives a nod to his opponent, slight but respectful, and takes his starting place. Clark's own stretches are, apparently, even more lax than the Psycho Soldier's - he just, more or less, rolls his neck around, gives a few swings of his arms, and that's that. He then signals to the League official, as well, that he's ready to fight, adopting his stance of planted feet, hands outstretched in front of him. Now just to wait for the call to begin, and yes, the fight would be getting all sorts of underway.

COMBATSYS: Kensou has started a fight here.

Well, somebody sure looks cheerful and outgoing! Kensou steps closer towards the middle of the ring now that Clark has made his arrival and signaled his okay, dropping into his usual sidelong fighting stance with a bit of a flourish. Yeah, he's totally ready for this! He's... Never fought Clark before and has no idea just how strong the Ikari Warrior is, but Kensou is nevertheless /totally ready/. "Hey, good luck!" Kensou calls towards the taciturn mercenary with a grin, and god damn but Clark has a lot of mass on the kung fu fighter! But will that matter, in the end?!

"FIGHT!" calls the League official, in what is the internationally accepted standard beginning to any proper fighting match, which gets a bit of a cheer from the audience, excited to see the action start at last!

And when tgat word escapes the 'ref', Kensou's reaction is immediate, bringing his hands up in front of his face. "Haa..." he murmurs as he gathers power quickly, before then proceeding to sweep his hands /outward/, which causes a sphere of blue-tinged white Psycho Power to form in midair in front of him, hurtling towards Clark with all sorts of neat little sparklies and what-all. "Choukyuudan!" It might be a pretty energy sphere... But it's still likely to be a /painful/ one.

COMBATSYS: Kensou successfully hits Clark with Choukyuu Dan.

Truth be told, he'd done his fight with D! earlier this week, and was slightly bummed about losing. He was on a losing streak, as it were, and was determined to break out of it, which was another reason to why he was accepting of a fight against a kid. But not really much of a bad guy, Clark again returns Kensou's call for luck with a nod, and... maybe even a ghost of a smile? Naw.
The call to fight is given, and Clark tenses. He was going to actually move forward and rush Kensou... but then, what the hell, a blue-white orb of energy shoots out. Oh, right. Energy projectiles. He'd forgotten about these, honestly, as all of his recent opponents had been fist fighters. Too late, however, even though he makes an attempt to dodge it, but it still catches him on the shoulder and arm, causing a grunt of pain, though he's not about to let that deter him! The big Ikari rushes forward after the attack to hopefully take advantage of any recovery times, by more or less running -past- Kensou with his arm out, catch him about the waist, and then spin in place, finishing up by throwing Kensou into the ground with his strength and momentum behind the throw.

COMBATSYS: Clark successfully hits Kensou with Fast Throw.

Whoa, hey there. That's not how that's supposed to work! That's supposed to slow Clark's reaction times or something! Aw, nuts. Kensou does indeed get caught and thrown, though, and while he attempts to deflect the impact and lessen the damage, he actually lands kind of wrong, making it hurt /worse/. Oh ow. How unfortunate! For a moment, it seems like Kensou might be entirely content to lie there, at least until he starts pushing himself up. And on the way there, he'll try and catch Clark with a potentially rather vicious mule kick aimed at the bigger man's breadbasket, hoping to buy himself some extra room!

COMBATSYS: Clark dodges Kensou's Heavy Kick.

When you're thrown, very few fighters are just going to stand back up without doing anything, and Clark's quite familiar with all the range of immediate counters one could do while rising from the ground, and mule kicks were high on the list! So Clark, belying his size, simply takes a hop backwards as the foot kicks where he once was, but not quite content to simply leave it at that, the big mercenary dips in again to try and grab Kensou's foot... and if successful, quite literally hoist him upwards by his foot, then in a risky maneuver try and grab his torso, which should leave the Psycho Soldier upside down and facing the grappler. If all goes well, Kensou will once again be meeting the ground... in a power bomb attack, as Clark more or less slams Kensou head first into the ground.

COMBATSYS: Kensou fails to interrupt Strong Throw from Clark with Senkyuutai.

Okay, so far? This really isn't going how Kensou had been seeing it in his head. Also? He /still/ hates grapplers. Kensou is lifted up indeed, his attempt to do /something/ about Clark's attack sort of, well... Nipped in the bud, and poor Kensou gets slammed headfirst right into the ground, with a loud 'OHHHH!' from the onlooking audience, because man, that had to hurt. Laying there for a moment, Kensou is soon scrambling the hell /away/ from Clark, to get the room to get back up to his feet and into his stance, trying to clear the cobwebs out of his noggin. Ow, dang.

Ouch. Yes, it did look like that hurt, though that was the point, right? Still, as soon as the piledrive is completed - and he was fairly sure Kensou tried -something- against that, but isn't quite sure what - Clark is moving backwards, away from the mule kicking boy. And, as the Psycho Soldier scrambles away from him, the Ikari gives him an odd look, before simply adopting his fighting stance again. He doesn't press his attack, simply because it's somewhat perplexing. He was fairly sure that Kensou was a good fighter! But it could just be a bad day. Well, he'd give him a chance at least. Steel motions with his hand, gesturing to 'Come at him', though at the same time, he's not just waiting for Kensou to charge him, he's watching the boy's movements a bit more closely, studying him, as is Clark's way.

COMBATSYS: Clark focuses on his next action.

Bad day doesn't seem to be the half of it, at the moment. Kensou gives his head another shake, trying to focus on the Ikari Warrior. Who looks pretty ready to intercept whatever Kensou might do to him, huh? That's probably not in his best interests. So with little in the way of options, Kensou lets out a slow breath and tries to gather his faculties, as well as causing little motes of energy to appear in the air around him, swirling in another nice little effect as they gather closer to him, the youth's Psycho Power building. No, Clark, this time he's /not/ going to come right at you!

COMBATSYS: Kensou gathers his will.

Hm... a change in tactics from the younger fighter, huh? He'd expected Kensou to be more brash than this, but nods approvingly as he sees the energy motes begin to flare up. He didn't precisely know -what- was going on there, but knew it didn't bode well, perhaps. So, instead of waiting for Kensou, Clark takes the initiative here, and with a small grunt, he pushes himself off and just charges at the Psycho Soldier, arms reaching out to grab at Kensou's waist, for apparently yet another grapple, though who knows exactly what he's going to do...?

There's little move to dodge the attack, he sees, but that doesn't mean the full brunt of his move is going to be felt. His attack, though, isn't one to be taken lightly. Grabbing Kensou about the waist, he literally tosses the young man into the air, takes a step forward, turns, and as Kensou descending back to the earth, Clark reaches up, grabs him, spins him so his back is facing the earth, then takes a knee, while at the same time, simply slamming Kensou into his one, outstretched knee in an almost vicious looking attack. The Psycho Soldier is then dumped unceremoniously onto the ground, before Clark skips backwards again, looking to see what Kensou's about next.

Letting out another little sigh of air, Kensou does something very unlike him and just... Goes with the flow of the attack. He's lifted and thrown and brought back down, and the knee to the back /hurts/, but the damage is reduced pretty noticeably, even when he's 'dumped unceremoniously' on the ground, the younger fighter actually lands on his feet, with a bit of a grin on his face. "Nice one!" he says to Clark, straightening up and reaching behind his back. Uh oh. "But now I'm gonna havta show ya... My SUPER CERTAIN DEATH ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE!!" Surely it must be something pretty fearsome, to gain such a frightening and terrible name, complete with overdramatic pose! But actually, Kensou just pulls a meatbun out from behind his back and pops it in his mouth, starting to chew. Mmmm, tasty.

A... meatbun? And one explicitly stated in such a showy manner. This, more than the fact Kensou managed to recover from his attack so quickly, gives him a little bit of a pause, just... staring at the kid. Was he serious? Yes, yes he must be. Of course, Clark doesn't really know what this is all about. So far, Kensou hasn't really shown him anything that *good*, so at the immediate moment, the Ikari didn't think too highly of his opponent. Wasn't taking this seriously! If only Clark knew, of course. But, to make his intentions known, he decides to simply step up, and aim a punch for Kensou's midsection in order to give him a little nudge in the area of, you know. Doing more than eating meatbuns.

COMBATSYS: Kensou successfully hits Kensou with Meat Bun.

Hey, wait a second, that's not a meatbun! Kensou suddenly looks a bit green, sticking out his tongue. "Eugh! Pizza bun!" he exclaims mournfully, when... Oh, wait, right, he's in a fight, isn't he? The psychic youth feels a little tingle as that punch comes towards him, and he turns, using Clark's own force to knock the punch aside... Which puts him pretty much right in the bigger fighter's face, huh? Kensou's hands now come closer together, and he creates another one of those spheres of Psycho Power, this one larger, almoat pure white and crackling with energy as he attempts to blast Clark from practically point-blank range! "CHOUKYUUDAN!" That's probably gonna sting a little if it hits.

Now -that- was more like it! He can see that the meatbun, for whatever reason, seems to have had a revitalizing effect on Kensou (though not very much, but still), and perhaps that's what leads to his attack being deflected most handily. And then right on top of it, another one of those energy spheres, though this time Clark isn't going to be taken by surprise. While left in a bad position, it's all he can do to bring his arms up and tense sharply as the psycho ball hits him dead on, and forces him to literally -skid- across the grass a short distance. After the attack fades, smoke drifts off of Clark's arms, and while it looked quite impressive - the crowd ate that up, surely - the Ikari doesn't look too worse for wear. "Good," he says, and then immediately launches into another attack. It looks more or less the same as his previous attack, aiming a fist for Kensou's middle, though if he connects this time, he'll follow up by planting his hand against the young man's stomach, his other hand to the back of his head, then invert his position in a classic throw to the floor.

No thanks! Kensou dodges back out of the way of the incoming punch, Clark's technique failing by a matter of inches. So it's not like the rest of that grappling attack is going to hit. Instead, the Chinese fighter leaps back forward, lashing out at Clark with a pretty wild haymaker, all of Kensou's not particularly considerable weight behind it! If that first punch lands, or even if it just hits Clark's guard somehow, the lithe young fighter follows it up with a combination of further punches, finishing off by clasping his hands together into an axehandle position, which he intends to swing at the Ikari Warrior's jaw, with enough force to lift the smaller fighter off the ground!

The haymaker is indeed wild, yes. And it does hit Clark, causing a grunt of pain from the bigger man. But the really cool thing is when Clark goes all mad gears right back. The punch connects, and then without waiting for Kensou to punch him any more. Clark steps in in order to wrap his arm around Kensou's own arm, then grab him by the belt, and toss him, once again, straight into the air, a bit higher than before. He raises his hands into a Y shape and then goes 'Ossu!', just as Kensou falls down again, back first, onto his hands. The Ikari then hooks his hands around Kensou's leg and shoulder, then simply pulls him down, hard, upon the big man's shoulders, bending the young boy's spine at another unnatural angle, before again just being let go and dumped on the ground.

Well, that was kind of a surprise. A rather /painful/ surprise, at that. Dumped on the ground he is indeed, but as much as he hates getting grappled and twisted and all that, it's not going to keep the young fighter down for long! Maybe! If he gets really lucky! Wobbling a bit, the battered youth gets back to his feet, gritting his teeth as he then hops /up/, lifting his lower body to strike out in a dropkick. Let's hope Clark doesn't have any unfortunate surprises for him this time!

No surprises, no, not this time. As Kensou gets back up, Clark is watching carefully enough, and while the attack isn't precisely a bad one, Clark is a surprisingly quick man for his size, and he... more or less steps back out of the drop kick's range. But immediately following it up, Clark steps forward again, turns on a boot heel, and in the process, lifts his other foot and extends his elbow with the other hand presses against his fist for support, so that he more or less falls backwards. Elbow first.

Not this time, Clark! Kensou rolls out of the way of Clark's attempt to elbow drop him, before hopping back and the heck out of the way. He lands on the balls of his feet, skidding back along the dried-out grass a little, standing there with his knees slightly bent, tugging his gloves tighter as he watches Clark. Yes... Very closely indeed! Perhaps it's one of those 'too little, too late' cases, but Kensou's not about to give up before he's been rendered completely unable to fight by the Ikari Warrior. Who still seems to be doing a lot better than Kensou is!

He was probably fortunate Kensou didn't want to counter attack, then, as the younger man rolls up out of the way. Clark lands without much damage to himself, though he did miss his attack. Legs up into the air, he then throws them down hard, and kips himself back up into a standing position, turning to find Kensou again... apparently getting ready for something. He'd done all the analysis he could on Kensou, now it was just a matter of trying to end it. He knew Kensou's type - they brought out the best stuff at the end, in a desperate show of force. Clark was determined not to let that happen. So, he doesn't take it easy, instead launching forward in order to try again for another grapple. This time, it'd be very simple. Grabbing Kensou by the shirt, he'd lift the boy up, then toss him over against one of the barricades. If all went well, anyway.

Taking a deep breath as Clark comes at him and tries for that grab, Kensou once again pulls back out of the range of the bigger man's grabbing attempt, though he moves straight forward inside of the other fighter's reach again straightaway; it's risky, maybe, but he's got a /plan/. Sort of. Maybe a little bit of one. Okay, so really, he's winging it. His closer hand swings up towards Clark's face in a pretty simple backfist attack, which will hopefully prevent Clark from trying anything 'funny'!

The attack is quick, and sure it stings... and Clark had little chance to dodge, though he did try. Still, too fast, and it smacks against his jaw, causing his head to whip to the side with sound almost like the Ikari was spitting. At the same time, however, he's attempting Yet Another Grapple, his arm closest to Kensou snapping up to try to grab his shirt once more, then lift up, turn and simply toss the Psycho Soldier to the ground, to Clark's six.

And, ow, Kensou gets deposited roughly on the ground, bouncing a little as he does so. Alas, he knows he doesn't have an awful lot of steam left, which leaves him in a bit of a cleft stick; does he play it safe, or does he gamble? It only takes a split second for the Psycho Soldier to decide, not even bothering to get back up, simply extending his right arm towards Clark from his prone position, his left hand bracing him by resting against his upper right arm, and then...!

...Suddenly, the crisp early December afternoon is lit up by a sphere of white light, faintly tinged with blue, erupting in the space that just happens to be occupied by Clark! It's not the most powerful Psycho Power blast Kensou has ever produced, but it's by no means a weak one, that horrendous force blasting away at the Ikari Warrior until that sphere of power finally collapses and explodes, likely sending Clark flying while Kensou is tossed a short distance away along the grassy ground!

It was said Clark is familiar with many types of counters from a prone position. But... not so much this. The only warning he has is that something is *wrong*. And then blue-white hell breaks loose around him as he is more or less bombarded by intense psycho energy. Clark is fortunate enough to at least be able to brace himself for the impact, and... damn, -what- an impact. Before the energy manages to send him upwards, however, Clark manages to fling himself -from- the the energy sphere, the explosion rocking him from behind, however. He comes racing out of that explosions like a bat out of hell, however, running straight for Kensou's prone position and seeming to be aiming to grab the young man again...

Clark, despite the odd positioning, manages to scoop Kensou up. And if ever there was a series of moves that could be considered a 'pain train', this attack is it. He manages to grab the boy up, and then he races across the little arena set up for them to first, slam Kensou into a barricade, making it and the two next to it topple over with the force brought to bear. Not yet done, Kensou is again grabbed, and Clark races to the -other- side of the area, slamming Kensou into the ground just before the barricades this time. And that's not all. Picking up Kensou's form once more, Clark literally leaps atop the barricades, Kensou held in front of him with his back to the big Ikari. Clark pauses momentarily to raise a hand up to the crowd, raising cheers, before Clark pushes off from the barricade, and more or less performs a flying German Suplex, SLAMMING Kensou's head and shoulders into the ground, with enough force left over to flip him and make them both land on their stomachs.

Wow. Ouch on that one. Kensou's pretty much done, that's for sure... He's just taken too much damage to keep going much longer; Clark really seems to have gotten the best of Kensou, here. But the Psycho Soldier really isn't the sort of person to just lie down without giving it every last bit of effort he's got, which is how, even after getting suplexed, he gets back up to his feet, shakily. He stumbles a bit, but then moves forward, at Clark, ideally while the other fighter is still getting to his feet, and then he sweeps his right leg out at the Ikari Warrior's head, his foot enveloped by a blue-tinged white glow, a trail of Psycho Power following his foot as it arcs towards Clark's melon...!

And sure enough, Kensou is faster to recover from the attack, if only because Clark's massive frame is harder to move, despite his speed on his feet. The blue-tinged kick arcs towards his head... but before it can connect, Clark lifts his hand, and catches Kensou's foot by the ankle. It still hurts quite a bit, though, because it impacts against his wrist with a lot of force. Ow. He'll probably have to keep off of it for a bit. But he doesn't just stop there. He slowly stands, and in a half-crouch, he moves to toss Kensou. That's all it is. He simply takes Kensou by the ankle as he has him, and then tosses him away. Clark then dusts himself off, and waves to the crowd, before he turns to speak with the League officials about various details. The fight's over with.

COMBATSYS: Clark has ended the fight here.

And, well, that's that all right. By the time Kensou hit the ground, he's already out like a light, rolling a bit limply. Actually, he looks kind of like he's fast asleep. He's probably going to be starving when he wakes up. But anyway, out cold as Kensou is, it's not very long before Clark is declared the winner of this Neo Fighting League match!
